5. Heaven Summit ~Itadaki~ – Round 2: FUMA defeated Takumi Tsukamoto with the Jawbreaker (12:52).

FUMA and Yasu Urano will join Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi and Ryota Nakatsu in the Heaven Summit ~Itadaki~ semi-finals. FUMA will face Hiroshi and Urano will face Nakatsu with both matches taking place on 28th June. Today’s win cheered up FUMA because his favourite heavy metal music festival LOUD PARK is not happening this year. When FUMA wins the Heaven Summit he will spend his prize money on a trip to Germany to go see Wacken Open Air, the biggest heavy metal festival in the world!

In a back and forth contest, Urano had counters for many of Fuminori Abe’s moves. He turned the Manjigatame into an Anklelock then used the Modern Times backslide to set up a Figure 4 Leg Lock. Abe at this point at no energy left to fight back and tapped out.

Banana Senga gave Best Stretchman V3 a Low Blow to steal the win for his team. Banana Senga declared himself the winner of the final battle between him and Best Stretchman. He then promoted the next final battle between them to be held in Shin-Kiba 1st RING.

6. Cavalry Vs Aikata Tag!: Ikuto Hidaka & Minoru Fujita defeated Ryuichi Sekine & Ryota Nakatsu when Hidaka pinned Nakatsu with the Iwami Ginzan (13:07).
7. Union MAX Title & DOVE World Title: Naoki Tanizaki (D/c) defeated Isami Kodaka (U/c) with the Libido (16:27).
*Isami Kodaka fails in V6. Naoki Tanizaki becomes the 10th Union MAX Champion! V1 for Naoki Tanizaki.

Dove Pro Wrestling is back with a vengeance and they now have BASARA’s championship! Naoki Tanizaki went into the Double Title main event with Gunso in his corner representing Dove Pro. Isami Kodaka came out by himself with the Union MAX Title around his waist. Tanizaki kicked out of the Diving Double Knee Drop as well as the European Clutch. He dropped Kodaka with the Implant several times throughout the match and they eventually took their toll on Kodaka. Tanizaki finally had him beat with the Casanova knee strike followed by the Libido knee lift for the three count. Tanizaki said the title win was for all of the Dove Pro believers who cheered for him today. He feels confident that he has beaten the best that BASARA has to offer. When he said this, Takumi Tsukamoto came out and challenged him to a MAX Title match. When Tanizaki and Gunso left, Kodaka called all of the BASARA home wrestlers to join him in the ring. He thinks Tsukamoto can bring the Union MAX Title back to BASARA but Kodaka still wants to fight Tanizaki one on one again some day. The show is over and BASARA is starting over. They may have lost today but they will come out of this stronger than they were before!

There is something about Ryota Nakatsu that Ikuto Hidaka seems to like. He feels like he is now Nakatsu’s 45 year old uncle and they will still be wrestling each other until Nakatsu can outkick his uncle. Hidaka admits that if today wasn’t a tag match, he would have lost to Nakatsu after he took his V Slider finisher. Minoru Fujita was also impressed by Nakatsu & Ryuichi Sekine today.

Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi returned from a long absence as a changed man. He took up yoga to recover from his dislocated shoulder and travelled to India to learn more about the practice. For his first match back Hiroshi went face to face with Osamu Nishimura. Quite a big opponent for him but he stayed calm throughout. Hiroshi meditated while he was put in submission holds to withstand the pain. Soon Nishimura meditated too and they were both inactive for so long that the referee began to count them towards a double knockout. Both stirred and went back to wrestling until Nishimura locked in a Sleeper Hold. Hiroshi tried to meditate again but ended up losing consciousness. Nishimura then easily rolled him into a Cobra Twist to pin him. He told Hiroshi afterwards that he too has visited India many times to learn yoga. The most important lesson is even if the body is destroyed, the soul will continue to live many lives. Hiroshi said he was happy to learn from a guru today. They then sang a song together.

The return of the BASARA Vs Dove Pro rivalry means the return of SAGAT and Gunso fighting each other in Hardcore Matches. SAGAT lost like he tends to but this time it was FUMA who got pinned. SAGAT gave Jun Kasai a Brainbuster from the ladder but Gunso immediately cut him off with the Diving Guillotine Drop. FUMA fought off his opponents until Gunso took him down with a chair shot. Kasai gave FUMA the Reverse Tiger Driver then Kasai & Gunso hit the Pearl Harbour Splash and Diving Guillotine Drop to FUMA at the same time for the win. Kasai ripped off FUMA’s heavy metal shirt after the match and threw it into the crowd.

Fuminori Abe had a spirited fight against Minoru Tanaka. During their early exchanges Abe told Tanaka “I believe the B in BASARA stands for Batibati!” then he hit him with strikes. Abe later kicked out of the Superfly at one but was quickly put down with the Sliding D. Tanaka shook Abe’s hand after the match but Abe slapped Tanaka across the face in response. Tanaka didn’t mind it. He said that it was a cheerful match and he likes to face wrestlers with Abe’s style of fighting. He didn’t know what to expect because he never saw anything from Abe before today. It was fun though and if the wrestlers have fun with what they are doing then the fans will have fun watching them.

The rest of the BASARA wrestlers were pitted against the Metal Family in a 4 Vs 4 Elimination Match. The weakest of the BASARA team Gouma Ryu took a beating but Yasu Urano was there to keep the numbers even. Ryu was able to eliminate Trans-Am ★ Tanaka by gutsy luck. Tanaka kicked him from the apron but as Ryu fell he tripped Tanaka and pulled him to the floor with him. That left Takumi Tsukamoto and Trans-Am ★ Ryuichi as the final two. They fought on the apron until Tsukamoto knocked Ryuichi to the floor with the Thrust Kick to win the match for BASARA!

Takato Nakano tried to pin Manabu Hara with several different Cradles but a Cross Armbreaker ended the match in Hara’s favour.

6. IRON FIST TAG TOURNAMENT – Final: Ryuichi Sekine & Ryota Nakatsu defeated FUMA & SAGAT when Nakatsu submitted SAGAT with the Crescent Moon (19:16).

Cavalry have won the 2018 IRON FIST TAG TOURNAMENT! A busy day for Ryuichi Sekine & Ryota Nakatsu began with them beating Manabu Hara & Fuminori Abe at the start of the show. Sekine put Abe in the Let’s Combine and Nakatsu kept Hara away from them with a German Suplex for the finish. The other semi final saw FUMA & SAGAT eliminate Best Stretchman V3 & Tsutomu Oosugi. Stretchman did well to knock FUMA out of the ring but he was met with an Axe Bomber and the Goregrind from SAGAT.

In the final Nakatsu trapped SAGAT in the Crescent Moon crab hold to earn the victory and win Cavalry the tournament. Sekine cried out that Cavalry were finally getting the results they wanted but there is more for them to do. Next up in their plan is the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles match on the 25th February DDT show. Sekine & Nakatsu fought against Abe in the semi final and it made them bond stronger as a trio because they all communicate through fighting.

The Electric Chair Superplex that Isami Kodaka & Yoshihisa Uto have been using together is now called the Axis Fall. It won them their match today but Kodaka still came dangerously close to landing badly onto his own head from the move.

In the lead up to this month’s Pro Wrestling Trial there was no mention of who was the accused was going to be. When it begun Hercules Senga was surprised to find out that it was him! Gouma Ryu accused Senga of exploiting other wrestlers by becoming a lawyer without having the proper skill level needed to do the job. Senga denied the accusation and called the whole thing a farce. An objection came from Isami Kodaka who was dressed as a lawyer for the occasion. He suggested to Ryu and Senga that they should reach a settlement but Ryu attacked him from behind. Ryu wanted to fight Senga so they wrestled until Ryu pinned Senga with La Magistral Cradle. Senga said afterwards there is one place higher than BASARA and it is DDT! Senga demanded a meeting with Sanshiro Takagi and he wants it to happen at BASARA’s show in Seijo next month.

3. IRON FIST TAG TOURNAMENT – Round 1: Best Stretchman V3 & Tsutomu Oosugi defeated Isami Kodaka & Yoshihisa Uto when Oosugi pinned Kodaka with the Tsukinoishi (13:16).
4. IRON FIST TAG TOURNAMENT – Round 1: Manabu Hara & Fuminori Abe defeated Trans-Am ★ Ryuichi & Yusuke Kubo when Hara submitted Kubo with a Chickenwing Armlock (16:01).
5. IRON FIST TAG TOURNAMENT – Round 1: Ryuichi Sekine & Ryota Nakatsu defeated Takumi Tsukamoto & Yasu Urano when Sekine submitted Urano with the Let’s Combine (27:41).

In a big surprise, the two wrestlers from last year’s winning team were both eliminated in the first round this year. Isami Kodaka’s first problem was his partner Yoshihisa Uto was disturbed by Best Stretchman V3 and didn’t know what to do with him. Kodaka’s other problem was Tsutomu Oosugi being completely ready for him. Oosugi got the upset pin over Kodaka to advance the Best Stretch team to the semi-final. Oosugi said he is now a trainer with a cause and he challenges Kodaka to put the Union MAX Title on the line against him. Kodaka agreed to it and the match will happen on 3rd March. All Kodaka asks is for Oosugi to come in his regular wrestling gear instead of the Best Stretch uniform he wore for today’s match.

Takumi Tsukamoto also had a bad go in his 1st Round match. He was taken out by Ryuichi Sekine & Ryota Nakatsu. That left Yasu Urano alone to be picked apart by Cavalry at the end. Sekine struggled to stand after the match because of damage to his left knee but he and Nakatsu were able to brag about their recent good match record in the venue.

The Metal Family had mixed results in the two remaining 1st Round Matches. FUMA & SAGAT were able to beat the rookie team of Takato Nakano & Akiyori Takizawa. However Trans-Am ★ Ryuichi & Yusuke Kubo lost to Manabu Hara & Fuminori Abe. Ryuichi gave his condolences to Kubo backstage and acted like Kubo died in the ring. Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi complained about how much he hates shoot style wrestling. Everyone should be doing powerful American style wrestling instead. They will leave it up to FUMA & SAGAT to win the rest of the tournament for them.

The IRON FIST TAG TOURNAMENT semi-final match-ups are Ryuichi Sekine & Ryota Nakatsu Vs Manabu Hara & Fuminori Abe and FUMA & SAGAT Vs Best Stretchman V3 & Tsutomu Oosugi. The semi-finals and final will happen on 19th February.

Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi announced his first match back from injury will take place on the 3rd May Korakuen Hall show. He’s been recovering from a separated shoulder since last summer.

5. Takumi Tsukamoto & Yasu Urano defeated Naoki Tanizaki & Shoichi Uchida when Urano pinned Uchida with a Crucifix Pin (16:33).
6. Union MAX Title: Isami Kodaka (c) defeated FUMA with the Isamuashi Zan (19:18).
*V3 for Isami Kodaka.

Isami Kodaka prevented FUMA from repeating history when he successfully defended the Union MAX Title against him. This time last year FUMA won the title from Kodaka and he was eager to do it again to kick off 2018. But this time Kodaka was tough enough to kick out of the Avalanche Heavy Metal Hammer and put FUMA away with the Isamuashi Zan. FUMA protested at Yuya Okada for only counting to two for his pins but then accepted the result. He apologised to the rest of the Metal Family for letting them down. Kodaka was so beaten up that he cut his promo lying on the canvas. He said today was a big deal because BASARA held its first show two years ago this month. Since then Kodaka has met many strange new wrestlers. There’s Daichi Kazato (“The most useless guy”), Takato Nakano (“a relatively good wrestler”), Ryuichi Sekine (“originally a good wrestler”), Ryota Nakatsu (“you and I will definitely become rivals”), Fuminori Abe (“already a rival”) and the ring announcer Rikiya Shindo (“What’s up with your glasses?!?”). Kodaka closed out the show by thanking everyone for supporting BASARA at the end of a very busy Osaka tour for the entire DDT family.

Memories of the BASARA Vs Dove Pro feud last year were still on the minds of Takumi Tsukamoto and Naoki Tanizaki. They did not want to participate in the pre-match handshake until Yasu Urano forced both of them to join in. The match went on without incident. Urano countered Shoichi Uchida’s Death Valley Bomb into a Crucifix Pin to win the match for himself & Tsukamoto.

SAGAT refused to shake Manabu Hara’s hand before their match. Maybe that played a part in Hara knocking him out with a High Kick twelve minutes later.

Kuishinbo Kamen was accused of putting together a scam back in April. Kamen allegedly exploited customers by charging tickets to a wrestling show that took place on a mat instead of a wrestling ring. Yukinori Matsui admitted the event did take place because he was near the scene of the crime that day for a DDT show. Both Gouma Ryu and Atsushi Maruyama became upset because it looked like Kamen was guilty. Ryu worked up his defence for Kamen, explaining that pro wrestling is pro wrestling no matter if it takes place in the ring or on a gym mat. Takumi Tsukamoto was brought out as a witness. He said that it was not a pro wrestling show. Fuminori Abe was brought out next but his disagreed. To him it was a wrestling show. The scene got so heated that a fight broke out between Ryu, Maruyama and Kamen. Ryu put Kamen in a Figure 4 Leglock but Kamen rolled him over and made him tap out. Kamen was declared not guilty. Backstage afterwards Ryu and Maruyama burst into tears and consoled each other because today may have been the last Pro Wrestling Trial for now. Maruyama recently signed with All Japan and his priorities will now be with that company. The two told each other it’s not the end, only a break. They can always see each other when they need to relax.

5b. Tank Nagai eliminated Yusuke Kubo with the Diving Senton (19:47).
5c. FUMA eliminated Tank Nagai by Ring Out (20:45).
5d. Takumi Tsukamoto and Trans-Am ★ Ryuichi eliminated each other by Ring Out (23:28).
5e. SAGAT eliminated Isami Kodaka with the Goregrind (25:39).

The combined forces of IRON PRIEST and the Trans-Am ★ Family was too much for BASARA to handle in the main event. Isami Kodaka brought in Tank Nagai from K-DOJO to help out but even that wasn’t enough to beat the Metal Family. In the end FUMA & SAGAT were the last men standing. FUMA gave Kodaka the Heavy Metal Hammer and SAGAT finished him off with the Goregrind. FUMA told Kodaka that IRON PRIEST and the Trans-Am ★ Family won today because they unite together. He then went on a tangent about the band HELLOWEEN getting back together for a tour and complained that he can’t get a ticket for their Japan gig. So he is using his anger over that as motivation to win the Union MAX Title from Kodaka on 8th January!

The Metal Family wanted to raise a toast to close out the show but all of the beer in the venue was sold out. They had to raise a toast with tea instead.

Fuminori Abe’s first match as a full time BASARA wrestlers was enough of an important occasion for Ryuichi Sekine to wear regular wrestling gear again. That is something he has not done since his Union MAX Title match back in November. Sekine countered the Octopus Hold into the Let’s Combine to get the submission victory. Both he and Abe smiled to each other after the match. Sekine then gave him a playful push.

Ryota Nakatsu and Manabu Hara continued to fight each other after Match #3. They had to be seperated from each other by their tag partners and other wrestlers.

For the court case between Hercules Senga and Tsutomu Oosugi, Senga used a magic marker to draw a hairline on his head and wore suspenders with a bowtie. Best Stretchman V3 argued that Senga was infringing a TV broadcaster’s copyright with his costume. When they finished arguing about that it was time to sort out the reason why they were all there. Senga wants Oosugi to stop teaming with Stretchman and reform Speed Of Sounds. Oosugi needed Gouma Ryu to plead his case. Senga argued that Stretchman and his stretching techniques were too dangerous. His witnesses to prove this were Fuminori Abe and Isami Kodaka. Abe had a dead leg and Kodaka said his right arm s in an even worse state after spending time in the Best Stretch parlour. Stretchman went away and Daichi Kazato took his place. Kazato stretched both Abe and Kodaka and miraculously their injuries went away! Senga protested and it led to a fight breaking out. Oosugi unexpectedly joined Senga’s side to clear the ring. They shook hands until Oosugi rolled Senga into a School Boy to pin him. Senga admitted defeat and will now consider working with the Stretchman team.

It took around nine months to get here but Takato Nakano earned his first singles win today by beating Akiyori Takizawa. Nakano caught Takizawa in mid-air with a Cradle for a nearfall but used the momentum to School Boy him into another pin. That one was enough to get the three count.

9. BASARA Offer Match: Trans-Am ★ Ryuchi, SAGAT, FUMA, Yusuke Kubo & Hagane defeated Takumi Tsukamoto, Ryuichi Sekine, Ryota Nakatsu, Daichi Kazato & Takato Nakano when FUMA pinned Sekine with the Jawbreaker (10:44).
10. Shinjuku Strongest Ground Budokai – Final: Hideki Suzuki defeated Fuminori Abe with the Double Arm Suplex (12:58).

The ruleset for the Shinjuku Strongest Ground Budokai tournament led to some unique finishes in the early rounds. With no ropes attached and Ring Outs in effect, seven of the nine matches in the tournament ended with a wrestler losing by falling out of the ring one way or another. Isami Kodaka beat Naoki Tanizaki with a Knee Strike knocking Tanizaki out of the ring. Colt Cabana was eliminated when Yuko Miyamoto kicked out of the Superman Dive. Whether intentional or not, the kickout pushed Cabana out of the ring. Fuminori Abe was put in a Figure Four Leg Lock by Akito but Abe shifted both of them over the apron and grabbed on to the corner post so Akito would hit the floor first. Riho used her tricky spinning cradles to roll Yasu Urano to the edge so when he kicked out of the move he fell out of the ring in the process.

In Round 2 Ayako Hamada and Hideki Suzuki took part in their first matches of the day. Hamada faced Kodaka and they ended up fighting by the corner post. After some switching back and forth, Kodaka finally got to kick out Hamada to advance to the next round. Suzuki was able to throw out Miyamoto but Miyamoto grabbed on to Suzuki’s tights and struggled to avoid the floor. Miyamoto lost his grip but was able to pull down Suzuki’s tights. Still, in the end the bare-bottomed Suzuki was declared the winner.

In the semi-finals Kodaka fell to Abe in the first non-Ring Out finish of the show. This time the ring ropes were attached so it was more difficult to be forced out of the ring. Instead both Kodaka and Abe aimed to win by knockout. It led to dueling Rabbit Punches between the two until Kodaka could not take anymore and failed to answer the 10 count after a knockdown. Riho got to face Suzuki who is the wrestler she wanted to fight the most in the tournament. Suzuki was left dizzy by Riho’s quick attacks but countered a 619 to knock her out of the ring.

Any questions about whether or not the Metal Family could get along were seemingly answered in the BASARA Offer Match. IRON PRIEST and the Trans-Am ★ Family worked together to beat the combined Cavalry & BASARA-gun side. FUMA got the pin and is now so confident that he wants to fight Kodaka for the Union MAX Title on 8th January. His reason for the date is because FUMA last won the MAX Title from Kodaka on 6th January, 2017. FUMA wants history to repeat itself.

The Ring Out rules were taken away for the Budokai final. Fuminori Abe and Hideki Suzuki got to wrestle each other in a normal match to see who was better. The Double Arm Suplex was the difference maker. Suzuki used the move to counter Abe’s Rabbit Punch to win the tournament. Suzuki thanked the fans for coming and told a story about first meeting Abe ten years ago. Abe was just an elementary school student who joined the UWF Snake Pit Gym in Koenji. The first thing Abe told Suzuki when he signed up was “Mr. Suzuki, I’m going to WWE!” Years went by until they met again and this time Suzuki found out Abe became a monk. Suzuki was really happy to wrestle with Abe today.

Kodaka approached Abe during the commemorative group photo at the end of the show. He thought Abe did pretty good today. Kodaka doesn’t know if Abe still wants to join WWE but he would like Abe to join BASARA instead. Kodaka offered him a BASARA T-shirt. Abe was happy to accept it. How could he say no? Kodaka told Abe they can get stronger together. Abe promised he will do his best to help make BASARA bigger.

BASARA “FUMA FEST VOL.1 ~WRESTLE ’EM ALL~” Results

December 10, 2017

BASARA “FUMA FEST VOL.1 ~WRESTLE ’EM ALL~”, 09/12/2017
Shin-Kiba 1st RING
238 Fans – No Vacancy

1. Nakatsu Dickinson defeated Takato Nakano with the Powerslave (8:43).
2. Jinbeizamen defeated Yngwie “SAGA” Malmsteen with the Buzzsaw Kick (7:03).
3. Rock ‘N Roll Cowboys Sudden Hell Match: Ricky Fuji Vs Ryuselmo Sekine ended in a Time Limit Draw (666 seconds).
4. Isami Kodaka & Yuko Miyamoto defeated Yusuke Kubo & Hagane when Miyamoto pinned Kubo with the Moonsault (10:25).
5. Goregrind Match: Jun Kasai defeated FUMA with the Pearl Harbor Splash (18:27).

The Goregrind Match featured electric guitars, a drum set, a ladder and lighttubes placed around the ring. Jun Kasai headbutted the lighttubes into FUMA then gave him the Reverse Tiger Driver and the Pearl Harbor Splash to win. Kasai had fun but got on the audience’s bad side when he said he doesn’t know much about heavy metal music. He invited FUMA over to FREEDOMS for a match some day. FUMA was happy with how the event turned out and said “FUMA FEST is forever immortal!”

The Rock ‘N Roll Cowboys Sudden Hell Match allegedly comes from Texas. To win the match you have to pin your opponent for one second then perfectly sing a rock song. However there is a 666 second time limit and neither Ricky Fuji or Ryuselmo Sekine could complete the task in time.

Nakatsu Dickinson, Yngwie “SAGA” Malmsteen and Ryuselmo Sekine were all introduced as a distant relatives of famous heavy metal musicians.

Heavy metal comedian Hashiyama Maiden hosted the show and did a skit before the main event where he headbanged next to a metal fan and got his long hair entangled in it.
