A minor left heel injury suffered on Sunday’s DDT show took Tetsuya Endo off of the “ALL TOGETHER” show that happened the next day. Thankfully after getting it examined Endo found out his heel has not been fractured and he is cleared to continue competing in the King Of DDT this weekend.

Even though Poison Sawada JULIE was eliminated from the tournament, he will be hanging around for a little while longer. He gets to form a DDT Legend team with HARASHIMA & Danshoku Dieno to take on the young blood.

All of a sudden Yuki Kamifuku has created an Asian Double Crown championship! She has held the Queen Of Asia Title since last November and just a few days ago won the brand new VPW Women’s Title in Vietnam. Both of those title wins came from Kamifuku defeating Alexis Lee, a 10 year veteran of the Southeast Asian wrestling scene. Her name has come up a lot in my DDT Around The World reports because she is the go-to opponent for whenever somebody from Tokyo Joshi Pro travels to Singapore. Lee has not given up on getting revenge for losing both championships to Kamifuku and is coming to TJPW for a double title rematch!

Wakana Uehara will not be at the show because she will be performing at a stage show elsewhere that day.

There is a very slight naming change to the IRON FIST Tag Team Titles. BASARA noticed that the media and wrestlers keep writing the name of the championship in katakana instead of using the upper case “IRON FIST”. So from now on they decided it will be written as “Iron Fist Tag Team Titles” (アイアンフィストタッグ選手権).

Also something to note is BASARA themselves aren’t quite sure where Judomaster belongs to. His affiliation is written as “Free?” on their website.

3. Lil’ Kraken & Gaia Hox defeated Takato Nakano & Masato Kamino when Kraken pinned Nakano with a School Boy (11:05).
4. Fuminori Abe defeated Daichi Kazato with a Cradle Cutback (12:56).
5. Isami Kodaka & Minoru Fujita defeated KUBITO & Yasu Urano when Kodaka pinned KUBITO with the Long Flight Vertical Drop Brainbuster (22:05).

It was confirmed after the main event that Isami Kodaka and Daichi Kazato will have a No. 1 Contender’s match for the Union MAX Title on 11th May. Kazato had a setback today after he lost to Fuminori Abe after a careless mistake ended with him getting cradled for the three count. But he assured everyone he stepped up by two or three levels despite the result. Kodaka told him it doesn’t matter how high he levels up if he doesn’t win in the end. Kazato assured everyone he has no intentions of losing the match against Kodaka.

Earlier, Abe told Kazato after their match that if he can beat Kodaka then he will have all the momentum to win the MAX Title from Minoru Fujita. When that happens Abe will challenge him for a title shot because he now considers himself the next No. 1 Contender after Kazato or Kodaka!

Things are getting uneasy between Takumi Tsukamoto & Judomaster. They lost their tag match in the opener and got into an argument afterwards that needed them to be separated. In unrelated news this weekend is the 13th anniversary of Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi’s debut.

Today’s show had free tickets for everyone under 18 year’s old because it is Children’s Day in Japan.

The new Spirit Of Ganbare Champion wasted no time in picking his first challenger. Keisuke Ishii thinks Kouki Iwasaki is a suitable opponent to defend the title against first. The two are good friends and are certain to bring the best out of each other for the championship.

Shuichiro Katsumura is down one championship but still holds the Spirit Of Ganbare Tag Team Titles with Takuya Wada. Now that might be under threat with Shinichiro Tominaga demanding a title shot. The only problem is when Tominaga went looking for a tag partner he found nobody in Ganbare☆Pro wanting to team with him. He is now searching deep into the student pro wrestling scene and promised to find somebody in CWP who will agree to join him in the fight against GROUND ABSOLUTE.

A championship from America is going to be defended in GanPro for the first time because YuuRI wants to break into the international scene. She thinks the quickest way to do that is to win the Kitsune World Title from Sayaka Unagi. The Kitsune promotion is still young but Unagi has brought their title belt everywhere with her ever since she won it, making sure plenty of people see it. She doesn’t think YuuRI will be as dedicated as she is should she win the title off her.

Please welcome GanPro’s first rookie under their new management system, Shota Kawakami! He was born in Ichikawa, Chiba on 21st July, 2001. He is 177cm tall and weighs 80kg. His sports background is in baseball up until middle school and then tennis in high school.

Just like what happened at the last BASARA show, pulling off Lil’ Kraken’s mask comes with a big risk. Minoru Fujita unmasked him during the main event and Kraken blinded him with Poison Mist out of self defence. Kraken continued to wrestle unmasked for the rest of the match but was caught in a modified Gokuraku-gatame and had to give up. Fujita was still blinded after the match and had to give his victory speech while being unable to see anything. Daichi Kazato then entered the ring and excitedly challenged Fujita for the Union MAX Title. However Isami Kodaka demanded Kazato face him in a singles match first. Kodaka has his own plans in mind but he will only reveal what it is after he beats Kazato.

The No. 1 Contenders for the IRON FIST Tag Team Titles hit a speed bump on the road to their title shot. One-half of the champions Ryota Nakatsu was able to beat Takumi Tsukamoto & Judomaster while teaming with Fuminori Abe insteado of Kazusada Higuchi. Judomaster seems to remember what the rules of pro wrestling are but now the problem with him is his mask. Nakatsu kept pulling at his mask to block his sight and it eventually paid off with the win.

In Match #2 SAGAT hit Banana Senga with the Goregrind but they landed on top of Gouma Ryu. Since Ryu’s shoulders were pinned to the mat, the referee counted Senga pinning him instead of SAGAT pinning Senga.

The Yuki Ishikawa that fought in the opener is the Big Japan wrestler, not the shoot style fighter. Today was his first match with BASARA.

After Harimao defeated Sento Minzoku in the main event, Takumi Tsukamoto & Judomaster approached the IRON FIST Tag Team Champions in the ring. Judomaster challenged Kazusada Higuchi to a Sumo contest twice but quickly lost both games. Tsukamoto then explained to Judomaster the concept of challenging for championships in pro wrestling. Ryota Nakatsu pointed out to everyone that Judomaster still doesn’t understand the rules of wrestling but he is still a really strong fighter so he agreed to give them a title shot in the future.

As mentioned above, Judomaster still hasn’t gotten the hang of the rules for pro wrestling. He was immediately pinned by SAGAT at the start of their tag match because he didn’t know he was supposed to kick out. They had to restart the match and this time Judomaster was able to pin SAGAT back with his own rolling cradle called the Master Clutch.

Yasu Urano quickly unmasked Lil’ Kraken and rolled him up to win his match in very little time. Afterward he claimed that he had now taken the No. 1 Contendership for the Union MAX Title away from Kraken! He tried to leave but Kraken refused to let the result stand and demanded a rematch. The fans agreed and Urano gave in to it. In the second match there was a ref bump and Urano tried to unmask Kraken again. This time Kraken defended himself by spitting mist into Urano’s face! Urano was still able to fight back but he was put away with the Jumping Knee Butt. Kraken will remain the No. 1 Contender and gets his title shot on 30th April.

1. Ryota Nakatsu defeated Lil’ Kraken with a School Boy (9:34).
2. Tsutomu Oosugi & Banana Senga defeated FUMA & Daichi Kazato when Oosugi pinned Kazato after a Two Plato Avalanche Double Brainbuster (11:01).
3. Takato Nakano & Masato Kamino defeated Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi & Yasu Urano when Kamino pinned Hiroshi with the Lariat (7:50).
4. Isami Kodaka defeated Ryuichi Sekine with a Vertical Drop Brainbuster (11:43).

Wrestling couple Ryuichi Sekine and Nodoka Tenma came up with an idea to hold a show while the sakura is in full bloom to attract people towards their village. The result was the creation of Gaisen Sakura Pro Wrestling. The first attempt at running an event was split into two parts. The first half of the day had BASARA producing matches for the show. Sekine himself wrestled in the main event portion, losing to Isami Kodaka in their first singles match against each other since 2019.

The second half of matches were handled by Tokyo Joshi Pro. Being a TJPW graduate herself, Tenma got involved at ringside for a couple of the bouts both as a willing and unwilling participant. Aja Kong was also the big name guest for the last match of the day. She teamed with Raku but the two of them lost to Shoko Nakajima and Tenma’s younger sister Yuki Aino.

3. Takumi Tsukamoto, SAGAT & Judomaster Vs FUMA, KUBITO & Daichi Kazato ended in a Draw when Tsukamoto and Kazato pinned each other (12:17).
4. Kazusada Higuchi defeated Isami Kosaka with the Doctor Bomb (13:11).
5. Union MAX Title: Minoru Fujita (c) defeated Masato Kamino with a Modified Inside Cradle (18:04).

Minoru Fujita praised Masato Kamino for being a strong opponent and let him give have time on the microphone after the match. Kamino was disappointed not to win today but reminded Fujita they will face each other again in another title bout this weekend. This time it will be in TTT in a match for the TTT Indie Unified 6-Man Tag Team Titles. Fujita is one of the title holders over there. Then Lil’ Kraken entered the ring and asked Fujita for a Union MAX Title shot. He figured since both Takato Nakano and now Masato Kamino lost to Fujita, he is next in line from their generation to challenge the champion. Fujita didn’t like the idea until he remembered that Kraken beat The Great Sasuke at Korakuen Hall last December. That doesn’t sit right with Fujita because he has never beaten Sasuke one on one. The title match will happen on 30th April.

Isami Kodaka tried targeting Kazusada Higuchi’s right arm during their match. The plan worked for a while but Higuchi was able to tough it out and beat Kodaka clean in a preview of next month’s IRON FIST Tag Team Titles match.

Match #2 ended with everybody piling on top of Gouma Ryu for the pin. Speed Of Sounds were ruled the winners because they were directly on top of him.

Over the weekend Super Sasadango Machine noticed something. He is on the poster for this show but hasn’t been booked for a match yet. He thought he was going to be on the show anyway because DDT is celebrating its 27th anniversary so he kept his busy schedule free for that day. Akito used his vice president duties to look into it and apologized when he found out that DDT did indeed forget to book Sasadango for the show. To make up for it one more match has been added to the 5 hour show and Akito himself will be Sasadango’s opponent. Now Keisuke Ishii is also getting booked in order to take Akito’s original spot in Match #3. Sasadango has since showed his appreciation to Akito for owning up o the mistake and apologized for giving him extra work to do. So for the first time ever we’re getting a wrestling match where the buildup involves both wrestlers constantly apologizing to each other.

At the last BASARA show the top two members of Sento Minzoku challenged Harimao for the IRON FIST Tag Team Titles. The match cannot happen just yet because Minoru Fujita is already scheduled to defend the Union MAX Title and he does not want to take part in another championship bout on the same show. So instead Isami Kodaka will face one-half of the champions Kazusada Higuchi in a singles match to give fans a preview of the full course.

The management group behind the unit has already said Hikari Noa will not be at the show. She is gradually being mentioned or shown on promotional material again so to me that is a small but positive sign towards her eventually coming back. I think her future will be more clear next month after “GRAND PRINCESS ’24” and the American shows are out of the way. We’re more likely to see her in public again before Kate Middleton that’s for sure.

This is the complete TJPW card you’re going to get in Philadelphia. Hmmm… I’m not that hot on it to be honest. If last year’s USA show was comparable to a Korakuen Hall show this one is more Ryogoku KFC Hall. I guess they’re a bit more conservative this time around because they have the second show with GCW the day after.

Speaking of GCW, Maki Itoh won the GCW Extreme Title in a 6 Way Scramble match on Saturday night! I’ll write more about it in the next DDT Around The World article at the end of the month.

2024 could be the year Sento Minzoku is back on top of the BASARA mountain. Minoru Fujita is currently the Union MAX Champion and the result of today’s main event could lead to the Iron Fist Tag Team Titles coming back to him too. Isami Kodaka pinned Ryota Nakatsu to win the match and told Fujita he wants the two of them to challenge Harimao for the titles. Nakatsu complained that Fujita shouldn’t have to be Kodaka’s partner and Ryuichi Sekine should do it instead. However he eventually agreed to put the belts on the line against Fujita & Kodaka. Kazusada Higuchi’s next BASARA appearance is on 19th March but Fujita is already defending the Union MAX Title on 19th March on that show. He refuses to wrestle twice, especially if it is in two championship matches back to back. They all think Higuchi will be available to wrestle in BASARA again on 20th April so they will do the title match there unless they got Higuchi’s schedule wrong.

Sekine announced he will be back to wrestling on a regular schedule with BASARA starting from next month. He made it a goal to work his way into becoming a champion again.

Yesterday BASARA reported that Takato Nakano had a fever but tested negative for covid. They decided to pull him from the show as a precaution and brought in Chicharito Shoki to replace him. If that wasn’t enough, it was announced that the love sickness Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi is suffering from has gotten worse so he couldn’t wrestle today either. The masked Judomaster was suspiciously in the venue again to take his place for the second show in a row. He seemed to have a better understanding of pro wrestling this time but still lost to Masato Kamino.

Today is the first time Gouma Ryu wrestled in Takashimadaira Kumin Center for a BASARA show. He thought he was taking part in another Pro Wrestling Trial but Banana Senga forgot to bring his outfit. They held a court session arguing whether or not injuring your opponent in a pro wrestling match should be a crime. They told KUBITO and Yasu Urano to wrestle each other in order to provide evidence. None of their actions injured either of them so the referee/judge declared them Not Guilty. Ryu did not accept the result and convinced Senga to fight the other two. KUBITO & Urano quickly beat them.

Takato Nakano had his own cheering section led by Kaori Yoneyama, Cherry, Matsuzawa-san and other people related to the YMZ wrestling promotion during the main event. He was able to kick out of the Samson Clutch but Minoru Fujita eventually pinned him with the Modified Tombstone. After the match Masato Kamino challenged Fujita to a title match. Fujita asked if Kamino can drum up the same level of support as Takano did? Are Yoneyama, Cherry or Matsuzawa-san going to come back and cheer him on too? Fujita has never gotten to lead BASARA until now so he wants to fill up Shin-Kiba 1st RING with people no matter if they support him or his challengers. He agreed to the match for next month.

There was a sudden announcement that Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi missed the show due to a bout of love sickness. His replacement was a masked fighter going by the name Judomaster. He was quickly pinned by Ryota Nakatsu and admitted to Takumi Tsukamoto afterward he does not understand the rules of pro wrestling. The two teams agreed to restart the match and this time Judomaster got the hang of things. He lost again though, this time to Isami Kodaka.

The opening match also had to restart a couple of times because Gouma Ryu kept getting pinned quickly. He kept pleading on the microphone to do rematches and got the fans to side with him.
