*HarashiMarufuji fails in V6. Sekiguchi becomes the 63rd KO-D Tag Team Champions!
9. KO-D Openweight Title: Konosuke Takeshita (c) defeated Shuji Ishikawa with the German Suplex (23:31).
*V11 for Konosuke Takeshita.

In the main event Konosuke Takeshita defeated Shuji Ishikawa once and for all to continue his dominant KO-D Openweight Title reign. Takeshita took everything that Ishikawa threw at him from the Knee Lifts to the Fire Thunders to the Splash Mountain and survived. He was even put through a table outside the ring with the Fire Thunder from the apron. In return Takeshita fired back with Lariats and German Suplexes until his big rival couldn’t take any more. Takeshita gave him the Cross Arm German Suplex but couldn’t keep his grip for the pin. He was able to reposition himself to give Ishikawa another German Suplex and this time pin him to win.

Takeshita thanked the fans for coming to Sumo Hall. A year and a half ago he defended his title against Ishikawa in this building and lost. Since then the support from the fans kept him going while he grew as a wrestler and a person. Time passes by so quickly but day after day he is still the champion. He loves that DDT is growing while he is becoming stronger. Takeshita then went to climb the turnbuckle and celebrate but he slipped and fell. Everyone laughed including him and the show was over…

…except that wasn’t the ending. When the ring was emptied and the ending music was playing, Shigehiro Irie appeared and climbed into the ring! Irie had disappeared from DDT right at the end of 2017 and was allegedly on another one of his overseas expeditions. This was his first appearance in a DDT ring for 2018. He called for Takeshita to come back out and face him. He congratulated him for the victory then challenged him to a title match. Takeshita said he always knew Irie would come back but is he ready for such a match? Takeshita carried DDT while Irie was gone. Akito entered the stand off and was full of criticism towards Irie. Everyone in DDT has responsibilities and Irie runs away whenever he doesn’t get what he wants. Akito does not accept Irie just coming back and demanding a title match. Irie threatened to shut up Akito and left the ring. Takeshita apologised for letting the argument happen. However his final words were about how he would like to see Akito and Irie settle their differences in the ring.

At last Kazusada Higuchi has taken down HARASHIMA! The KO-D Tag Team Titles changed hands after a back and forth match. Naomichi Marufuji used his strike combos to cut down the opposition as much as he could. HARASHIMA kept Higuchi & Daisuke Sekimoto on edge with the Somato. The final moments of the match were down to HARASHIMA and Higuchi. HARASHIMA hit a Buzzsaw Kick but Higuchi woke up out of it and Headbutted his rival. Higuchi had the win in his sights when he hit the Doctor Bomb but Marufuji broke the pin. Sekimoto German Suplexed Marufuji away and Higuchi finished off HARASHIMA with the Goten to win the titles. Higuchi thanked Sekimoto backstage and said he felt amazing after he finally defeated HARASHIMA. On the other side, Marufuji took the blame for his team’s loss. HARASHIMA said he enjoyed teaming with Marufuji for the last several months. They don’t need the titles to team again but they will stick to messaging each other on LINE for the time being.

The Great Muta entered DDT in an alien looking form to take part in his most bizarre wrestling match since the first time he was in HUSTLE. You know the one I’m talking about. Daisuke Sasaki, Tetsuya Endo, Ken Ohka and Keisuke Ishii were all there to play second fiddle to Muta and Danshoku Dino locking horns. Dino’s typical moves didn’t work on Muta at first. It wasn’t until Muta accidentally struck his partners with a chair when Dino grabbed him by the crotch again and the action slowly took its effect on the demon. Seeing his chance, Dino set himself up for the Hell Gate on the turnbuckle. Muta was thrown into Dino’s ass but Muta stopped himself and sprayed the Poison Mist into Dino’s ass! However much to everyone’s shock, Dino’s ass sprayed the Mist back into Muta’s face! Ohka hit the Fire Spear on Muta but it wasn’t enough to win. Ohka hit Sasaki & Endo with the Double Fire Spear but Muta was back up giving everyone Dragon Screws. Dino gave Muta and DAMNATION the Lip Lock but Muta stopped him and gave him the Lip Lock right back. Then all three of them spat red Poison Mist at Dino. Endo hit Dino with the Handspring Leg Lariat, Sasaki followed up with a Pedigree and Muta ended the match with the Moonsault. Quite possibly the final Moonsault Muta will ever do. The match was over but Dino had the last word. Dino wants Muta to tell Keiji Muto that this isn’t the end. Dino wants a singles match against either The Great Muta or Keiji Muto!

After intermission Sanshiro Takagi and Hisaya Imabayashi came out for a few big announcements. First, DDT will return to Sumo Hall later this year on 21st October for “RYOGOKU PETER PAN 2018”. Second, there will be two Sumo Hall shows during the same weekend next February. The shows, nicknamed “2 DAYS Of Hell”, will be held on the 16th and 17th February, 2019. However, only the second show is a DDT show. The first show will be a MUSCLE show hosted by Super Sasadango Machine! The show is called “MUSCLE MANIA 2018 ~I CANNOT WAIT UNTIL 2030 SP~” referencing the humorous return date in the year 2030 for the MUSCLE spin off brand. Sasadango wants the official return show in 2030 to be held in the Tokyo Dome.

The Weapons Rumble was the crazy spectacle it promised to be. Chinsuke Nakamura was accompanied by a violin player for his entrance. He and Michael Nakazawa were attacked while they finished their ring entrance. The first weapon to enter was Soma Takao’s steel basin. He whacked Takagi over the head with it. Next was Nakamura’s surfboard. He swung it down at Takao. Takao tried to block it with his basin but it only made the impact worse. Takagi & Munenori Sawa wanted to do the Golden Shower but they were cut off. The dreaded locker was brought into the match by MAO & Mike Bailey. They trapped Takagi inside and kicked the sides of the locker. The next weapon were the T2HiJoshi girls: Margaret★Owashi, Kazuko Hirata & Gorgeous Matsuko. MAO got rid of them by snapping the back of Matsuko’s bra, knocking her out of the ring. Fuminori Abe knocked out Sawa with a Rabbit Punch which brought out the next weapon, three monks. Abe and the monks prayed for Sawa to wake up and it worked. The next weapon was a special rule. No laughing allowed. Takagi then came out with his Combat Bicycle and cycled over to his opponents to Lariat them. MAO & Bailey countered the bicycle by bringing in a Dramatic Road Roller. MAO and Takagi crashed into each other, wrecking the Roller. A massive barbed wire board was thrown into the ring by Takao & Yuko Miyamoto, taking out everyone else. Isami Kodaka’s weapon was next, the Giga Ladder. Isami struck Miyamoto with the ladder and sent him crashing through the barbed wire board outside the ring. The final weapon was Shinjiro Otani dressed in a black bodysuit! Every laughed, breaking the No Laughing rule from earlier. The punishment was Otani hitting everyone in the ass with a baseball bat. When Otani was finished, he did the Fire Festival Sword pose with the bat. The match reached its end when Bailey gave Nakazawa the Ultima Weapon and MAO got the pin with the Cannonball 450.

As part of the match stipulation, Nakazawa must now take an Anal Explosion. However Nakazawa couldn’t take another explosion after taking so many over the years. He shouted about going back to Thailand and ran away from ringside. This left the others with a problem. An explosion was promised and DDT cannot continue the show without doing it. One by one, different wrestlers volunteered to sacrifice themselves until Takagi offered to do it. Everyone else immediately accepted his request. “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing” by Aerosmith played over the speakers as Takagi walked up to the stage, stripped down to his underwear and prepared to take the explosion which was 100 times more powerful than he thought when it was prepared. Takagi hesitated to push the button next to him. The tension was so unbearable that Sawa couldn’t take it any more. He approached Takagi and told him that they will take the explosion together. Sawa leapt on top of Takagi, they joined hands and they both pressed the button, causing a tremendous explosion inside Sumo Hall and also their backsides.

Youth beat liquor in the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles match. But it almost didn’t end that way. Yukio Sakaguchi hit Kota Umeda with the Right Knee Of God and tried to choke him out with a Sleeper Hold. Umeda was only saved by Yuki Ueno & Koji Takeda hitting double Missile Dropkicks to Sakaguchi. The DNA team kept KUDO & Masahiro Takanashi away while Umeda and Sakaguchi slugged it out with a kickfest. Umeda got the upper hand and dropped Sakaguchi with the Umeda Driver for the victory. Sakaguchi handed the titles over to Umeda and told him “Well done”. The new champions bowed when Shuten-dōji left the ring.

Super Sasadango Machine got his wish and successfully defended the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title against Jiro Kuroshio. Sasadango began with his PowerPoint presentation and promised it wouldn’t take longer than 20 minutes, the same amount of time as Kuroshio’s entrance. Sasadango’s plan was to make Makoto Oishi lay a bear trap around Sumo Hall for Kuroshio to fall into during his long entrance. The first trap was placed on the ring apron. The second trap was planted near a group of women in the audience. They were given custom Kuroshio signs to lure Kuroshio over to the trap. The signs were hand made by Kazusada Higuchi. The third and final trap was placed beneath the balcony next to Kuroshio’s father where two other Sasadango Machines would hold him hostage. This trap was delayed because Oishi and the Machines were looking for him on the wrong side of the arena.

Kuroshio came out and nonchalantly avoided most of the traps. He vaulted over the first one, cartwheeled over the second and easily stepped over the third. The plan looked to be ruined until Sasadango grabbed the trap and placed it into the ring at the right moment. Kuroshio somersaulted over the ropes and landed head first into the trap! Sasadango hit the Vertical Drop Lehmann Shock for the quick finish but Kuroshio barely kicked out! Kuroshio retreated outside to get his bearings then sent Sasadango flying outside with a Hurricanrana. He then followed up with a big Moonsault off the top rope to Sasadango and Oishi outside. Sasadango tried to defend himself with the trap but Kuroshio kicked it away. He applied the Ikemen Clutch for the pin but time slowed down to a halt and a video of both wrestlers’ inner monologues played while they fought in slow motion. Ikemen grabbed the trap and threw it out of the ring (still in slow motion). He knocked down Sasadango and was ready to finish him off when another video played. This time it was his father’s inner monologue. It turns out his father is actually an omnipatent god here to offer his son a choice. He can choose either a Gold Trap or a Silver Trap. Kuroshio chose the Gold Trap. Oishi came out and placed the Gold Trap on top of Sasadango. Kuroshio didn’t noticed and Moonsaulted onto the trap! Sasadango got back up and pinned Kuroshio with a School Boy to win the match. Backstage Kuroshio was shocked to learn he is a son of a god. He then snapped back into reality and talked about wanting to challenge Konosuke Takeshita for the KO-D Title if Takeshita wins in the main event.

Maki Itoh made the grave mistake of throwing down Yoshiko-sama’s teddy bear in the Tokyo Joshi Pro match. This made Yoshiko-sama so angry that she beat up Itoh with the bear. Miyu Yamashita went toe to toe with Yoshiko-sama and Azusa Christie until she and Itoh were taken out with a Double Lariat. An outnumbered Mizuki was then picked apart by NEO Biishiki-gun with Saki-sama winning with her finisher. The Two Step Face Kick she uses is now called the Academy Award.

In the battle of the crazy gaijin, Colt Cabana outwitted Joey Ryan. Cabana blocked Ryan’s attempt to stick a lollipop into his mouth by redirecting it into Yukinori Matsui’s mouth. Ryan pulled out more lollipops and every time the lollipop ended up in Matsui’s mouth. Ryan’s plan finally worked when he pulled the lollipop out of Matsui’s mouth and into Cabana’s. Colt grabbed one of the lollipops from Matsui and shoved it into Ryan’s mouth. Cabana then forced Ryan to grab his own crotch and make him flip himself over. Ryan was helpless and tapped out to the Billy Goat’s Curse afterwards. Cabana tried to give a celebratory speech but the microphone cut out from him. When it finally worked he called himself the craziest gaijin in DDT.

An over the top rope rule was added to the Tag Gauntlet at the last minute. It was this addition that led to the eliminations of DEADLIFT LOLITA and Naomi Kingdom. The pace of the match changed when ALL OUT eliminated Antonio Honda & Ethan Page. The last two eliminations were caused by Kazuki Hirata. First he pinned Shunma Katsumata with the Miracle Cradle. LiLiCo & Makoto Oishi caused him some problems but Hirata caught LiLiCo in another Miracle Cradle to win the match. Toru Owashi handed him a pair of Hirata GO! glasses and he got to do his full dance celebration.

The Miraclians beat the Dragon Bombers in the Tokyo Joshi pre-show match. Rika Tatsumi did her best with her Hip Attacks and Maho Kurone tried to eat Shoko Nakajima’s tail. The Apricots hit Kurone with a Double 619 and Yuka Sakazaki landed the Magical Girl Splash for the three count.

Kenshin Chikano & Akira Jo were victorious over Kouki Iwasaki & Shinichiro Tominaga in the second pre-show match. Yep.

The very first match of the day saw the DDT Veteran team defeat Team DNA. Poor little Nobuhiro Shimatani was given the Cherryton Bomb from Cherry, the Midnight Buenos Aires from Hoshitango and the Reverse Splash from Mad Paulie all in a row. The pin was cut off but Paulie just gave Shimatani the Paulie Buster to end it.

DDT unveiled a brand new logo designed by NIGO, the creator of the A Bathing Ape fashion line. The logo resembles a wrestling ring on top of a cube. The intention was to create something that was not your typical pro wrestling logo but still has an element of pro wrestling associated with it.

DDT is back in Sumo Hall once again for its biggest event of the year. “JUDGEMENT 2018” is being held to mark DDT’s 21st anniversary and is providing a stacked card to celebrate. The headline match is a rematch of a 2016 Sumo Hall main event but there is plenty to talk about from top to bottom. We have grudge matches, we have generational battles, we have wrestling demons, we have anal explosions, we have title matches, we have joshi, we have crazy foreign wrestlers and we have the other sub-brands jumping in to get involved. The only way this show gets any more insane is if DDT goes the Pop Team Epic route and holds an identical 5 hour show immediately after this 5 hour show ends but with different a commentary team.

0. Under Match: Mizuki Watase, Rekka, Daiki Shimomura, Nobuhiro Shimatani & Takato Nakano Vs Mad Paulie, Hoshitango, Tomomitsu Matsunaga, Gota Ihashi & Cherry

The first match of the day is between rookies and veterans. The rookie team consists of DNA and BASARA wrestlers. Mizuki Watase’s big matches in DNA for the last few months have been against wrestlers like Koji Kanemoto & Minoru Tanaka. Taiwanese wrestler Rekka recently formed a short lived team with Chinese wrestler Choun-Shiryu that fell apart over their national differences. Daiki Shimomura has been bottom of the pile and taking loss after loss on most shows. His Gran MilliMeters partner Nobuhiro Shimatani has been the same except he has spent his time trying to win over DAMNATION so he can join their group. BASARA’s Takato Nakano is approaching the first anniversary of his debut match in April.

On the veteran team Mad Paulie has become a little bit calmer ever since he discovered dancing. He loves to dance along to Shuji Ishikawa’s karaoke. Because of this he acts a little bit nicer to his opponents but he is still dangerous to wrestle. Gota Ihashi embarrassed himself on the big stage when he got to team with Kota Ibushi and Riki Choshu on a show produced by Choshu. They won their match but Choshu ripped apart Ihashi with criticism during a post show interview. Ever since then Ihashi has been trying to regain his confidence and even wants to discover if the power of Choshu is inside of him. It isn’t. The real power is the friends you make along the way and Choshu has been friends with Ibushi for years so the entire journey is a waste of time in the first place. Hoshitango, Tomomitsu Matsunaga & Cherry have been filling up the DDT pre-show matches throughout the year.

0. Under Match: Kouki Iwasaki & Shinichiro Tominaga Vs Kenshin Chikano & Akira Jo

The focus of this match is between Kouki Iwasaki and Akira Jo. The two are feuding against each other in DNA where the homegrown wrestlers are defending themselves against the Naomi Kingdom, which Jo is a part of. Shinichiro Tominaga comes over from Ganbare☆Wrestling as a proud “amateur” pro wrestling card carrier. Kenshin Chikano has a DDT appearance here and there. He had a little more of a presence in BASARA last year when BASARA had a summer long rivalry with Dove Pro Wrestling.

0. Under Match – Tokyo Joshi Pro Offer Match: Yuka Sakazaki & Shoko Nakajima Va Rika Tatsumi & Maho Kurone

Tokyo Joshi Pro gets fully represented with two matches this time around. The pre-show match is between two of their long standing tag teams the Miraclians and the Dragon Bombers. The Apricots have been teaming together for as long as Yuka Sakazaki & Shoko Nakajima have been around. They have a few achievements between them but the one they share together is becoming the first ever TOKYO Princess Tag Team Champions. On the surface the Dragon Bombers look like an odd pairing but Rika Tatsumi and Maho Kurone have won over fans with their personalities. Kurone’s entire zombie character is immediately eye catching and her behaviour at shows is often fun to follow. Tatsumi got some media attention when she admitted to fancying another Tokyo Joshi wrestler Mizuki and openly questioned the No Relationships rule used by the promotion because it only refers to having boyfriends and not girlfriends. She is currently preparing for the biggest match of her life in May when she main events Korakuen Hall. She recently pinned Nakajima to build up her momentum. Either repeating it or pinning Sakazaki would only increase it further.

1. Gauntlet Tag Match: LiLiCo & Makoto Oishi Vs Reika Saiki & Lady Beard Vs Akito & Shunma Katsumata Vs Toru Owashi & Kazuki Hirata Vs Antonio Honda & Ethan Page Vs Naomi Yoshimura & Keisuke Okuda

The show kicks off proper with a wacky Gauntlet Match for Tag Teams. When LiLiCo was last in DDT she was defending the now forgotten KO-D 10-Man Tag Team Titles with Makoto Oishi and three others. That was in November. Now she’s back in training with Oishi to enter the gauntlet. Oishi has planning his next steps ever since NωA split up. He demanded to join T2Hide so he could take over the group and even won the right to be a member. But he instead turned it down so he could go do literally anything else. Reika Saiki & Lady Beard are connected together outside of wrestling as the idol duo DEADLIFT LOLITA. This is their first time teaming together for a wrestling match. Shunma Katsumata became the breakout wrestler from NωA when he joined ALL OUT and went through a crazy Hardcore Match where he used thumbtacks. Akito has been by Katsumata’s side during this encouraging him to come out of his shell. Toru Owashi & Kazuki Hirata are still the same except for the times when Hirata gets deported and replaced by a suspiciously similar looking foreign substitute. They might still be feeling burned by Oishi rejecting them. Ethan Page has been loving his stay in Japan which probably explains why he acts different here compared to how he normally elsewhere. DDT brought him in with big hopes that he will be their next big Canadian star. Antonio Honda is with him to make sure that happens. Finally, Naomi Yoshimura & Keisuke Okuda have been terrorising DNA with their Naomi Kingdom unit. Their troublemaking is now spreading to DDT and they are very interested to be in the same ring as LiLiCo and Saiki.

2. World Crazy Wrestler No. 1 Decision Battle In DDT: Joey Ryan Vs Colt Cabana

Everything about this match is a little funny. Two of America’s most known and successful comedy wrestlers will face off one on one inside one of Japan’s most prestigious wrestling arenas… and there’s been zero build up for it. That’s not to say either of them have done nothing in DDT at all. In January Joey Ryan competed at the D-Oh Grand Prix. He seemed to be more concerned about convincing the audience to throw paper tape at him for his entrances than he was with winning matches. Colt “Boom Boom” Cabana challenged for the KO-D Openweight Title on Christmas Day but failed to win it. He then spent New Year’s Eve pretending to be Abdullah The Butcher. Both are fighting for the right to be called the DDT’s craziest gaijin wrestler.

3. Tokyo Joshi Pro Offer Match – Special 6-Woman Tag Match: Miyu Yamashita, Maki Itoh & Mizuki Vs Saki-sama, Yoshiko-sama & Azusa Christie

For the first time Tokyo Joshi gets a main card spot on a Sumo Hall show. Miyu Yamashita has regained her position as the ace of the promotion when she won back the TOKYO Princess Of Princess Title on 4th January. Since then she has been fighting off challengers like Veda Scott, Yuna Manase and Maho Kurone. Teaming with her is one of the scariest egos ever to grace a DDT ring. Pop idol turned pro wrestler Maki Itoh often becomes intense when she wrestles. Her petite figure doesn’t stop her from throwing headbutts and giving her opponents the middle finger. She also formed her own team/fan club called the Itoh Respect Army and brought in Mizuki as Member #001. Mizuki doesn’t mind and is happy to make a friend. They even recorded a music video together. It’s just that this friend can act like a psychopath when she doesn’t get her way.

Their opponents are NEO Biishiki-gun, the snooty aristocratic unit led by the snootier and even more aristocratic Saki-sama. Her biggest move over the last year was abducting one of the weakest wrestlers in Tokyo Joshi, Azusa Takigawa and brainwashing her into becoming Azusa Christie. Azusa is now a devoted nun who worships Saki-sama as if she was God. This change has seen her gain more success than she ever had previously and she along with Saki now holds the TOKYO Princess Tag Team Championships. Ever since her inclusion, NEO Biishiki-gun have been the dominant force in Tokyo Joshi and now they have a new girl joining them for this show. In February Saki-sama brought out a shy woman who was hiding her face behind a teddy bear and introduced her as an old friend from her childhood. Maki Itoh confronted this girl and threatened her until the bear was lowered and the face was revealed. The girl is Yoshiko-sama and she isn’t afraid to fight back! Her teddy bear is named Charlotte by the way.

4. Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title: Super Sasadango Machine (c) Vs Jiro Kuroshio

I’ve had trouble trying to keep up with the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title this year. Super Sasadango Machine won it the first week of January and asked to defend the belt against Jiro Kuroshio at Sumo Hall. His wish was granted but on one condition. Sasadango would need to defend the title at least twice a week every week up until the show takes place. Sasadango quickly found a solution to this problem. He set up an office in Nagoya and invited celebrities, spokesmen and other various business people to try and win the belt from him. In return they would get to promote their projects on DDT’s social media. It worked for the most part but there were some title changes I missed from people I don’t know and from there I lost track. As of writing I think he is still the champion and his title match with Kuroshio is all set.

But things are never just normal with this championship. There are always people hunting after the belt and I’ll be shocked if this match just stays between Sasadango and Kuroshio. Heck I’ll be shocked if a title change does not happen right before the match takes place! Also I don’t think Kuroshio would be just satisfied with doing just this match. Remember, he has a pinfall victory over Konosuke Takeshita from the D-Oh Grand Prix. There has to be some sort of follow up to that.

5. KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles: KUDO, Yukio Sakaguchi & Masahiro Takanashi (c) Vs Kota Umeda, Yuki Ueno & Koji Takeda

On the one hand Shuten-dōji finds themselves in the familiar position of the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles match on DDT’s big supercard. On the other hand their opponents this time includes what used to be one of their own! Kota Umeda returned from a long injury absence last November and is making up for lost time in both DDT and DNA. He built up a quick but intense rivalry with another rookie Yuki Ueno. He also joined the rest of DNA in their feud with the Naomi Kingdom. It was during this time that Umeda started to figure something out. As the fourth member of Shuten-dōji he was often left out of their 6-Man Tag Title matches. The only times he got to step in was to cover for one of the other wrestlers if they were hurt. This had to change.

Shuten-dōji reached the point where they were disappointed by their current position. They wanted to face the best trios DDT could throw at them but in the end it is they who are the best trio. That was when Umeda stepped up to them. He wanted to challenge his brothers for the titles and to do so he is teaming with his rival Ueno as well as another rookie Koji Takeda. The response from Shuten-dōji was mixed. Masahiro Takanashi found it funny. He thought Umeda’s new unit looks so bad that they should be called Pigging 2018 after the consistently worst unit to compete in the DDT General Elections year after year. But KUDO & Yukio Sakaguchi took this seriously. They would allow Umeda to challenge them but he would no longer be a part of Shuten-dōji if he does so. Umeda was willing to pay that price. Now Umeda is leading his generation team against his former family and in the process became a fierce enemy to Sakaguchi in particular. It might get worse when the title match takes place.

6. Weapon Rumble 5 Way Tag Loser Gets Anal Blast Match: Sanshiro Takagi & Ippanjin Munenori Sawa Vs Mike Bailey & MAO Vs Yuko Miyamoto & Soma Takao Vs Isami Kodaka & Fuminori Abe Vs Michael Nakazawa & Chinsuke Nakamura

Well this has been crazy. Originally DDT was going to hold its Falls Count Anywhere specialty match but Sumo Hall management and the Japan Sumo Association finally put their foot down and told them no. The potential risk of audience injuries and building damage is too high for them to accept. Unfortunately for them they weren’t prepared for DDT’s Plan B. Sure DDT will keep it in the ring but now there are explosives involved. At least it’s still safer than Sami Callihan playing with a pinata.

It all begun when Sanshiro Takagi was reunited with an old friend. In a moment that they absolutely swear was not like anything else that happened that same week involving former DDT talent, Munenori Sawa returned to DDT to save Takagi from a beatdown. They embraced, tears were shed and one of DDT’s wackiest tag teams from the last decade were back in business. Although Sawa had retired from pro wrestling to become a salaryman, he would still show up near a wrestling ring every now and then. Takagi threw out a challenge. He and Sawa would face anyone in a Falls Count Anywhere Match at Sumo Hall. They attracted a lot of offers. Yuko Miyamoto wanted to get involved and as the current DDT Extreme Champion he surely qualifies. Soma Takao joins Miyamoto as part of Smile Squash. The call was also answered by Isami Kodaka & Fuminori Abe from BASARA. Kodaka is a hardcore wrestler and Abe is pretty much Munenori Sawa Jr. so the stipulation suits them fine.

The challenge led to an old enemy of Takagi’s resurfacing. Michael Nakazawa sent a video saying he would enter with a friend from “New York”. That friend is Chinsuke Nakamura! The Pauper Of Strong Style made his presence felt when he threw Takagi over the top rope and out of the ring. He celebrated this accomplishment by pointing to the RyogokuMania sign held above Korakuen Hall. The loudest response of all was from MAO fresh off of his split from NωA. MAO thinks now is the time DDT gets a new face for Street Wrestling and it should be him. He’s bringing Speedball Mike Bailey back to team with him. However MAO may be too crazy judging by that time he ran over Takagi with a van to win a Falls Count Anywhere match. He then threatened to blow up Shin-Kiba 1st RING with fireworks.

So the match was set and tensions grew to a dangerous level between Takagi and MAO. Takagi’s response to getting hit by a vehicle was to start shoving fireworks into other wrestlers’ butts to give them an Anal Explosion. MAO responded in kind until it was the major focus by everyone involved in the upcoming match. That was when the ban came and the match had to be cancelled. During that announcement all of the teams came together and threw together a replacement match. The BASARA team wanted to use weapons. MAO demanded that someone should get an Anal Blast. Everyone agreed to a Weapons Rumble match. As the match progresses, new weapons would be brought out Royal Rumble style. Plus whoever loses the match must subject themselves to an Anal Explosion! This means everybody is happy except for the Japan Sumo Association. Serves them right.

7. Dramatic Dream Match: Danshoku Dino, Keisuke Ishii & Ken Ohka Vs Great Muta, Daisuke Sasaki & Tetsuya Endo

One of the first announcements for this show made back in January was the involvement of The Great Muta. DDT eventually announced that he would be teaming with DAMNATION to take on Danshoku Dino and his friends. Daisuke Sasaki would use the news to announce that he is in charge and Muta would be fighting under his leadership. There was no response from Muta about this. Sasaki then started taunting Dino by spitting cola and coffee at him Poison Mist style. Again there was no response from Muta. But Sasaki’s actions did bring Dino to his breaking point. The attacks made Dino transform into The Great Homo! Under his own Muta-style personality, Dino would constantly attack Sasaki and Tetsuya Endo. Endo moreso than Sasaki. He would spit Poison Milk Mist at them and attack their backsides with a spike. The only way he could be stopped was when Sasaki transformed into Nerima Sting to combat him. This finally made Muta stir. The demon was not pleased by this nonsense especially from Dino.

A threatening message was sent to DDT HQ. Dino has been given the Poison Curse! No matter where Dino goes, Muta would possess everyone around him and make them spit the Poison Mist in Dino’s face. Nowhere was Dino safe. Employees, trainees, referees, wrestlers, fans, models, TV hosts. All of them spat the Mist at Dino under Muta’s power. Dino would get attacked again and again and again and again and again! Has Muta’s plan brought Dino back to the brink enough to summon The Great Homo? Keisuke Ishii and Ken Ohka are there to help Dino but the three of them are clearly outmatched. The only thing they don’t have to worry about is Muta doing a Moonsault but that’s what Endo is there for.

8. KO-D Tag Team Titles – Uchikomi! Presents: HARASHIMA & Naomichi Marufuji (c) Vs Daisuke Sekimoto & Kazusada Higuchi

For many in DDT there is one task that seems impossible and that is beating HARASHIMA. The backbone of DDT is often the biggest mountain to climb and some wrestlers have become obsessed with doing it. The latest wrestler in this position is Kazusada Higuchi. HARASHIMA has been a thorn in his side ever since Higuchi’s first year in DDT. HARASHIMA gave Higuchi his first loss, beat him twice in KO-D Title matches and also won the KO-D Tag Team Titles from him with Naomichi Marufuji. The team known as HarashiMarufuji have held the titles ever since. They even survived a title defence held inside a factory! If they were ever to be beaten, Higuchi would have to find somebody really strong to team with him.

Oh crap. Daisuke Sekimoto wants to get involved.

Sekimoto & Higuchi joined forces for the annual New Year’s Eve cross promotion Tag Team Tournament and made it all the way to the final. They made such a good impression together that they are reuniting to go after HARASHIMA & Marufuji. Sekimoto and HARASHIMA have a history together but there is respect between them. HARASHIMA and Higuchi however do not like each other ever since HARASHIMA knocked out Higuchi during a singles match earlier this month. When Higuchi came to he went on a rampage chasing after HARASHIMA. A defeat to Marufuji too in the run-up to this match hasn’t helped. Higuchi will have to keep his emotions in check against these two.

9. KO-D Openweight Title: Konosuke Takeshita (c) Vs Shuji Ishikawa

This is the rematch 19 months in the making. Konosuke Takeshita and Shuji Ishikawa main evented “RYOGOKU PETER PAN 2016” with the KO-D Openweight Title on the line. Ishikawa came out on top that night and held onto the belt for almost the rest of 2016. HARASHIMA won the title from him in December that year but the championship made its way back to Takeshita at “JUDGEMENT 2017” just over one year ago. Since then Takeshita has firmly kept the belt in his grasp and fought all-comers, breaking the DDT record for most title defences in a single reign with 10 successful defences at this time. Freshly graduated from college, Takeshita has been having a great year as the champion. It’s getting tough though. A lower back injury has plagued Takeshita throughout February and gave him a big target that can be exploited. So it’s been a tough year but a great year none the less.

However you can argue Shuji Ishikawa’s last 12 months have been just as good if not better. He goes on a tear in All Japan and wins the Champion Carnival, then the Triple Crown, then the Real World Tag League with Suwama and then AJPW World Tag Team Titles also with Suwama. When he refocused his efforts in DDT at the beginning of 2018, Ishikawa ends up winning the first ever D-Oh Grand Prix tournament almost unbeaten. His only loss in the competition was against his DAMNATION leader Daisuke Sasaki. The goal of the Grand Prix was to establish DDT’s leading star for the rest of the year and Ishikawa proved there is no one more deserving of it than him.

Ishikawa has gone out to prove he has a range of other talents too. Ever since he won the Grand Prix, Ishikawa has performed karaoke in the ring to celebrate his big victories in DDT. Mad Paulie has joined in the fun by dancing along to his songs. Sasaki & Endo aren’t as eager to join in so they just grin and bare it while he sings. With the big title match on the horizon, Sasaki gave Ishikawa a serious order. Ishikawa cannot sing karaoke and Paulie cannot dance again until Ishikawa beats Takeshita at Sumo Hall to become the KO-D Champion. This gave Ishikawa an idea. Takeshita is injured. If he gets so injured that he cannot defend the title at Sumo Hall then Ishikawa will become the champion by default. Then for the main event Ishikawa can sing karaoke inside the ring all night long! So for the last month Ishikawa has intentionally tried to injure Takeshita in their preview matches. It briefly worked when Takeshita had to miss a show to recover but he came back and in their most recent match together pinned Ishikawa.

So there you have it. The strongest champion in DDT’s history is hurt but still capable of beating whatever is being thrown at him. DDT’s strongest challenger is almost unstoppable and is powered by the desire to show off his vocal talents. Their 2016 match is well worth the watch in preparation for this.

7. KO-D Tag Team Titles: HARASHIMA & Naomichi Marufuji (c) defeated Konosuke Takeshita & Akito when HARASHIMA pinned Akito with the Somato (24:01).
*V4 for HarashiMarufuji.

There were two stories to keep an eye on in the main event. One was the first meeting between Konosuke Takeshita and Naomichi Marufuji. But the other that led to the match result was HARASHIMA getting a measure of revenge on Akito after losing to him earlier this month. Takeshita and Marufuji took each other out of the match late. Takeshita hit the Knee Strike but Marufuji fired back with the Tiger King. Akito locked HARASHIMA in a European Clutch again but this time HARASHIMA kicked out. Akito kicked him afterwards but all it did was made HARASHIMA angry. In response HARASHIKA kicked Akito until Akito was knocked out. From there HARASHIMA hit the Somato and that was it. Marufuji praised the challengers afterwards for providing them with a highly tense match. He called Akito a wonderful wrestler and told Takeshita he would like to fight him again.

When ALL OUT left the ring, DAMNATION appeared to declare themselves as the next challengers for the KO-D Tag Team Titles. Tetsuya Endo told the champions there are two geniuses in pro wrestling: himself and Daisuke Sasaki! HARASHIMA accepted the challenge and told Marufuji the next DDT show in Korakuen Hall is on Christmas Eve. It took some discussion for Marufuji to accept because he already has plans that day but he agreed to be there.

Chairs, steel basins and plastic boxes were all used in violent fashion during the No DQ Match. Soma Takao broke the plastic box over Sasaki’s head then hit a Diving Double Stomp while Sasaki was buried beneath a pile of chairs. Sasaki brought in handcuffs but he ended up wearing them instead. Tetsuya Endo and Mad Paulie eventually freed him but they took some chair shots from Takao during the process. Sasaki gave Takao the Vietnam Driver II onto the basin for a nearfall. Sasaki then locked in the Crossover Facelock until Takao lost consciousness. The referee called for the bell and rewarded the match to Sasaki. With this result Sasaki has now tied the record for most DDT Extreme Title defences in a single reign.

Dodgy translations aside, Mike Bailey had a clear plan put in place against Tetsuya Endo. Bailey thinks he is the calmer of the two so if he could make Endo mad, he can then use it to his advantage. Bailey intentionally left his guard open at the start by bowing to Endo. Endo didn’t fall for the trap. Instead he bowed back. Endo’s ability to match Bailey’s calmness with his own was the deciding factor. Bailey kicked out of the Tetsuya In The Sky and dodged away from the Shooting Star Press. But when it was his turn to fire back, Endo used Bailey’s momentum from the Green Tea Plunge to roll on top of him for the sudden three count. Whatever tension that existed between the two seems to have vanished after the match because they bowed to each other again. Bailey is taking the loss in his stride. He was hoping to win and go into his upcoming Impact X Division Title match against Taiji Ishimori at the Differ Cup with a lot of momentum. Instead he is going into the match as the clear underdog.

Super Sasadango Machine laid out his plans to beat the YaroZ in the KO-D 10-Man Tag Team Titles match. He singled out Shiro Koshinaka as the biggest threat on the challenger team. In order to beat YaroZ, the champions will have to destroy Koshinaka’s greatest weapon. His ass! So a special rule was put in place. If anybody laughs during the match, they must take a baseball bat swing to the ass. The goal is to make Koshinaka laugh. Kota Umeda, Yuki Ueno and Daiki Shimomura appeared dressed in black bodysuits carrying bats to attack any wrestler who laughed. Some of the others had some surprises in store to make Koshinaka laugh. Sasadango swapped places and costumes with the referee, LiLiCo was very aggressive with her shouting and everyone piled onto Sanshiro Takagi to stop him from doing the Spiccoli Driver. Takagi collapsed with back pain so Antonio Honda called for a doctor. Ultraman Robin appeared wearing a medical coat and he helped bring Takagi back to the locker room. He was interrupted by Yuki Iino dressed as a nurse. Iino decided that Takagi needed mouth to mouth resuscitation. It worked, Takagi regained consciousness and yelled at Iino not to use his tongue. Back in the ring the batsmen continued to attacked those who laughed but everyone noticed there was now a fourth batsman. It was Shinjiro Otani! He even used his bat the same way he does his Facewash Kicks in the corner. Honda stopped the match so he could talk about Gon, The Little Fox but he mixed it up with Fist Of The North Star. This made Koshinaka smirk and that was enough for him to get attacked. However Koshinaka shrugged off the bat shots and attacked the batmen and the others with Hip Attacks. Honda held LiLiCo in place for Koshinaka to hit the Super Hip Attack but LiLiCo moved out of the way. Honda got hit instead and he was then hit by Ken Ohka’s Fire Spear. LiLiCo climbed on top of Honda for the three count and a first successful defence of the 10-Man Titles. In the post-match interview Sasadango opened up a challenge for any fivesome in Japan to come over and face them. Big Japan, K-DOJO, WRESTLE-1, even All Japan or NOAH. Come on over!

A wild mix of teams were put together into a 3 Way Trios match. Diego was put with NωA and he filmed their entrance on his phone. Shunma Katsumata & MAO wiped out most of the field with stereo Suicide Dives but Shuten-dōji got away from them unscathed. That gave Yukio Sakaguchi the chance to pick apart Rekka and win the match for Shuten-dōji.

The King’s Game match featured plenty of surprises and suspense for the wrestlers involved. The match was overlooked by four of the voice actresses from the show. They spoke in-character and announced missions for the wrestlers to complete during the match. If anyone failed a mission they would be eliminated by death! The first twist came when the match was changed from a 5-on-1 Handicap Match into an all against each other Battle Royal. The first mission was to perform a throwing technique within 30 seconds. Everyone passed. Kazuki Hirata was about to dance when he was told dancing was prohibited by one of the other missions. The next mission was to slap Hirata within 30 seconds. Everyone did it except for Mizuki Watase. When the time expired the lights went out for a moment. When they came back on Watase spat blood out of his mouth and collapsed dead. He was out. The next mission was for the wrestlers to kiss each other. Danshoku Dino gladly kissed Koji Yoshida but Saki Akai hesitated to do the same with Nobuhiro Shimatani. They almost went through with it but Akai instead slapped him at the last second. The time expired, both of them spat out blood and they died. The next mission was to hit a Lariat. Yoshida failed and died. Lastly, Dino was instructed not to expose his ass. Hirata pulled down Dino’s tights and that was enough for Dino to fail the mission. He died and Hirata was declared the winner! Hirata danced to celebrate only to discover that his No Dancing mission was still active. Blood burst out of his mouth and he died to end the segment.

In his first singles match back from injury, Kota Umeda was victorious over Yuki Ueno. A Brainbuster, a Penalty Kick and the Umeda Driver scored him the win.

Mad Paulie made easy work of Daiki Shimomura in the dark match. The only time he was threatened with defeat was from a Missile Dropkick and a School Boy. After that Paulie lifted Shimomura up for an Argentine Backbreaker then put him away with the Paulie Buster.

Shuten-dōji are the subjects of the new DDT PREMIUM PHOTO book released at the show. Masahiro Takanashi was embarrassed when one of his sexy photos was shown on the screen and asked for the segment to be clipped out of the broadcast. KUDO’s picture was of him taking a batch and Sakaguchi’s was of him wearing only a fundoshi. He hopes those who buy the book will enjoy it “with a sense of comfort”.

The two block entries for the D-King Grand Prix were released. Block A contains Konosuke Takeshita, HARASHIMA, Tetsuya Endo, Keisuke Ishii, Masahiro Takanashi, Joey Ryan and Jiro Kuroshio. Block B contains Daisuke Sasaki, Yukio Sakaguchi, Soma Takao, Akito, Kazusada Higuchi, Mike Bailey and Shuji Ishikawa.

Shuji Ishikawa & Suwama will team up to face the Brahman Brothers at “DAMNATION ILLEGAL GATHERING VOL. 2” in Korakuen Hall on 30th December.

Diego’s farewell match will be against Dick Togo on 1st December.

“RYOGOKU PETER PAN 2018” is scheduled for 21st October next year.

9. KO-D Openweight Title – Good Com Asset Presents: Konosuke Takeshita (c) defeated Tetsuya Endo with the Cross Arm German Suplex (29:02).
*V7 for Konosuke Takeshita.

Konosuke Takeshita overcame his toughest challenge yet to achieve his 7th defence of the KO-D Openweight Title! The grudge match against Tetsuya Endo was the headline attraction for DDT’s return to Sumo Hall. Last time the two fought to an hour long draw but this time, Takeshita was able to defeat Endo in just under 30 minutes. Endo did hit the Torture Rack Bomb, the Shooting Star Press and both versions of Tetsuya In The Sky but Takeshita kicked out of all of them. Endo also reversed a Tombstone Piledriver on the ramp during an outside attack. In return, Takeshita hit Lariats, Big Boots, Pump Up Knee Strikes, German Suplexes and the Blue Thunder Bomb but Endo kicked out of them. Finally, Takeshita crossed Endo’s arms over for one last German Suplex and that one brought an end to the match. Takeshita wanted to show good sportsmanship to Endo after the match but Endo spat in his face and was carried away from the ring by DAMNATION.

Takeshita thanked the fans for coming to Sumo Hall and supporting him. His victory speech was interrupted by the new DDT Producer, Danshoku Dino. Coming out wearing a peach colored suit jacket over his wrestling gear, Dino congratulated Takeshita and said that part of his new job is to come up with new challenges for the champion. Dino told Takeshita he will defend the KO-D Title on 24th September against another champion. Out came Ken Ohka with his Independent World Jr. Heavyweight Title! Takeshita accepted the challenge and wanted Ohka to put his title on the line too in a unification match, one on one. Dino looked surprised. He never said Takeshita and Ohka would be in a singles match. It’s going to be a 3 Way Match with a third champion involved. Daisuke Sasaki entered the ring with his DDT Extreme Title. He wasn’t happy with the idea but if it means getting revenge on Takeshita for beating Endo, then so be it. With that decided, everyone left Takeshita alone in the ring to finish the show closing speech. Five years ago, 17 year old Takeshita had his debut match in Budokan Hall. Fast forward to today and 22 year old Takeshita is making DDT grow bigger in both mind and body!

It was a new song but the same old story for Shigehiro Irie. He just can’t beat HARASHIMA. Irie and Kazusada Higuchi came out to Irie’s new entrance music “T2” (“Tachimukau Ver.2”) by Kinniku Shojo Tai. He even had the support of the band’s main vocalist Kenji Otsuki sitting at ringside for the match. But HARASHIMA had Naomichi Marufuji on his team and Marufuji kept Higuchi at bay with their Chop Battles. Irie did what he could to put away HARASHIMA but nothing worked. Irie readied himself for one last Beast Bomber but was cut off by Marufuji. Irie was then pinned after the Shiranui from Marufuji followed by the Somato by HARASHIMA. As the new KO-D Tag Team Champions celebrated, Irie went over to Otsuki and cried for forgiveness. Higuchi also apologised to Irie but Irie wouldn’t let him take the blame.

HARASHIMA & Marufuji’s celebration was then cut short by Dino, who introduced himself to Marufuji. Dino said he wants to provide a dream match for the next Tag Title defence and it will involve the two wrestlers who best represent DDT. Himself and Sanshiro Takagi! Dino also wants Marufuji to experience the kind of match only DDT can provide. So on 20th September, HARASHIMA & Marufuji will defend the KO-D Tag Team Titles against Dino & Takagi inside the Miyagi Iron Works for a Factory Pro Wrestling Match! Marufuji was taken aback by the announcement and referred to the NOAH president Masayuki Uchida at ringside for his opinion. “No problem!”, Uchida said. Welcome to DDT, Marufuji.

Daisuke Sasaki and Akito fought in a crazy Hardcore Submission Hair Vs Hair Match for the DDT Extreme Title. Akito came out with new wrestling gear but focused all of his attention to the task at hand. Sasaki meanwhile lived it up by walking to the ring with two blonde haired foreign women for his entrance. The match became dangerous in between the submissions when a table, ladder and chairs were all brought into the ring. Akito used the chairs to attack Sasaki by the legs. Sasaki hit back with a major move, placing Akito sitting on a chair outside the ring then jumping off the ladder from inside the ring for the Super Diving Elbow! Back in the ring Sasaki laid Akito down inside the ladder and hit a chair-assisted Diving Elbow from the top rope. Akito returned fire by putting Sasaki through the table from the ladder. He put Sasaki in the Scorpion Lock but let it go when Mad Paulie jumped onto the apron for a distraction. Sasaki swung a chair at Akito but he ducked and Paulie took the shot instead. Akito tried to give Sasaki the Double Knee Buster but it was countered into a DDT onto the chair. Sasaki then found a guitar and smashed it over Akito’s head. Finally, Sasaki made Akito submit to La Mistica Cross Facelock with a chair wrapped around Akito’s head pulling back for extra damage.

Sasaki took joy from slowly cutting off pieces of Akito’s hair with clippers until Akito grabbed an electric shaver and shaved off the remaining hair himself.

Company power versus romantic freedom were on the line when Sanshiro Takagi and Danshoku Dino fought in a Weapons Rumble. If Dino won he would be given complete control of booking DDT shows. If Takagi won then Dino would have to go find a romantic partner and get married. The early weapons brought into the match included a barbed wire baseball bat, a vibrating massager also wrapped in barbed wire which Dino stuffed behind Takagi’s shorts, a gigantic marriage document which Takagi forced Dino to sign and Takagi’s Rolex watch which Dino smashed to pieces with the baseball bat. The next “weapon” turned out to be Kendo Kashin but he was immediately attacked by Mitsuo Momota with Chikara accompanying him. Their planned match at 6:30am never took place so DDT decided to begin the match here and now. It was called off when Dino and his friends assaulted the referee assigned to the Kashin Vs Momota match. Kashin promoted the next All Japan show in Sumo Hall to be held on 27th August and then left. Dino’s friends were then distracted by the appearance of the Macho 29 dance troupe so that got rid of them. Dino then had an old video of a drunk Takagi stripping naked during a fan event play over the arena screen. Takagi had a mental breakdown until his secret weapon appeared. It was Dino’s mother, Yaeko! She entered the ring and gave Dino the Lip Lock! Takagi then hit Dino with a Lariat and the Sit Down Himawari Bomb but Dino kicked out. Then it was time for Dino’s secret weapon, Takagi’s wife Kayoko Takagi! She hit a Moonsault on Takagi. The end finally came when Dino delivered the Lip Lock and the Danshoku Driver, a Gotch-Style variation for extra insult. Dino is now in charge of DDT!

Dino celebrated winning what must now be the most important match of his career. Takagi tried to convince Dino to go and get married anyway. Marriage can be nice, just look at him and Kayoko. After he said this Kayoko gave him the cold shoulder and left the ring. Takagi then changed his mind and said it’s probably alright for Dino to stay single for a little while longer. He also thanked Yaeko for appearing. She received cheers from the audience as she left the ring. Moving on to other business, Takagi asked Dino if he realises how much power he now holds in DDT. Dino said he was prepared otherwise he would never have asked for it. Takagi accepted the answer and promoted Dino into the DDT Producer. Takagi then announced he was going to retire but quickly admitted he was lying. Amon Tsurumi came in to congratulate Dino for becoming the Producer. With Takagi, Amon and Dino all working together DDT will become a more interesting place. Takagi then fired Tsurumi! DDT only needs two people to captain the ship so Tsurumi’s position as General Manager is no longer needed. Dino agreed and said in English “You are fired!” Tsurumi tried to complain but was pulled out of the ring by a bunch of DDT wrestlers and carried away from ringside.

The combined powers of Dick Togo, Yasu Urano and Antonio Honda telling his bedtime story were not enough to take the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles from Shuten-dōji. Honda was put away with the combo of Yukio Sakaguchi’s Right Knee Of God, Masahiro Takanashi’s Takatonic and KUDO’s Diving Double Knee Drop. The champions declared they will drink until the morning to celebrate. Sakaguchi also sent a message to Togo. If Togo wants a match anytime, Sakaguchi will be there to kill him!

The 4 Way Tag Team match turned into a free for all. Kaz Hayashi & Keisuke Ishii hit stereo Planchas onto Yankee Two Kenju. Then Mike Bailey & MAO jumped off of the same top corner together to hit Moonsaults onto everyone outside the ring. Bailey & MAO then singled out Soma Takao but couldn’t catch the guy. Takao rolled away from Bailey’s Shooting Star Double Knee Drop then avoided MAO’s Cannonball 450. Kotaro Suzuki then grabbed MAO and did Takao’s Endless Waltz for a few nearfalls. Takao then took over the Endless Waltz for some more nearfalls until he finally pinned down MAO long enough to get a three count. Suzuki revealed that he got permission from Takao before the match to use the move so it is now officially part of his moveset. Takao hopes he and Suzuki will tag together more in the future. Bailey & MAO also expressed a desire to team up more often in DDT. On a sidenote, Takao is now 9-0 at “PETER PAN” events.

Shunma Katsumata and Jiro Kuroshiro provided a handsome looking change of pace with their singles match. Katsumata made his entrance on a stage gondola with the rest of NωA throwing autographed balls into the audience. Kuroshio then spent the entirety of his entrance frolicking through the crowd. His big move of the match was a Lionsault out of the ring onto Katsumata standing on the ramp. Katsumata got a nearfall with the Firebird Splash and also used his own version of the Ikemen Clutch for a nearfall. But Kuroshio got the victory by locking in the real Ikemen Clutch for the three count. Katsumata and Kuroshio embraced after the match. Katsumata said he regrets not being able to grasp his big opportunity today but he has no hard feelings over the result. Kuroshio said he felt lucky to get the match today and he thanked DDT for giving him their support.

In order to win the brand new KO-D 10-Man Tag Team Titles, a special battle plan was necessary to succeed. Super Sasadango Machine had such a plan ready for his team. First he held his PowerPoint presentation, “Reasons Why We Cannot Stop Wrestling”. Short answers, it’s because wrestlers feel a sense of accomplishment when they win. But wrestling is mostly an individual competition and when you are not the champion it is not as fun. When Tag Team Titles are introduced it increases the variety of ingredients to make tastier dishes. So he approves of a 10-Man Tag Title being created. for his battle plan, Kazuki Hirata is the target. Sasadango wants the audience to applaud Hirata so much that he will become deliriously happy. Then LiLiCo can sneak in and pin him with a School Boy. The plan didn’t work and Hirata kicked out of the School Boy. Later, Joey Ryan overpowered almost the entire opposition with his dick strength, flipping everybody away except for LiLiCo. She held on, forced Ryan to grab her crotch and used her power to flip him over. Hirata came back in to dance to his cover of “TOKYO GO!” until Ken Ohka hit him with the Fire Spear to win the match. So the first champions are Makoto Oishi, LiLiCo, Lady Beard, Super Sasadango Machine & Ken Ohka! Sasadango said backstage that the team are open to challenges from anybody as long as they come to DDT.

DDT’s new big lad Yuki Ino was the focus in the opening match for the main show. His power overwhelmed Yuki Ueno and he also went toe to toe with Naomi Yoshimura. He had no problem teaming with Kouki Iwasaki while Ueno & Yoshimura had a moment of miscommunication that almost cost them the match. Ueno’s Dropkick hit Yoshimura by mistake and Ino capitalised with a Spear to Ueno and a Back Drop to Yoshimura. Ino went for another Spear but Yoshimura sut him off with a Lariat and pinned the new rookie with the Shonenba. Ueno was impressed by Ino’s strength but Yoshimura wasn’t. He doesn’t see what the big deal with Ino is and why he was given the spotlight.

The Tokyo Joshi Pro GM Tetsuya Koda has the face the wrath of his entire roster because he had to enter their Battle Royal as the defending Iron Man Heavymetalweight Champion. He tried to act tough but was easily beaten up by Cherry. When Nodoka-oneesan came out and Cherry fought her, Koda backed off to the corner and tried to stay out of the way. That backfired when Nonoko was thrown into the corner and she squashed him. Nodoka-oneesan then pinned Koda to become the champion. Her reign was ended by Mizuki with the Cutie Special. Mizuki held on to the belt until she was in the final two with Yuu. Fifteen years ago when Yuu was a kid, she tried to win the title as part of a fan contest and failed. But today, Yuu accomplished her goal and tapped out Mizuki to become the Iron Man Champion!

The All DNA team were victorious in the pre-show 8-Man Tag. The veterans Tomomitsu Matsunaga and Hoshitango came close to winning it for their side but their pins kept getting cut off. Rekka, Diego & Daiki Shimomura wiped out the opposition with Planchas then Mizuki Watase pinned Masato Kamino with the Back Drop.

When the doors opened at 2:00pm that afternoon, the first match of the day began. Gota Ihashi was put into a special 5-match Gauntlet series to be held all around the building. Plus he would be defending the King Of Dark Title so there he had many opportunities ahead to pass the cursed title to someone else. In fact he did it immediately outside Sumo Hall to his first opponent Dai Suzuki. Ihashi pinned Suzuki in 36 seconds and Suzuki rolled down the stairway with the title belt. Even though Ihashi is now free from dark match hell, he still had to complete his series so he move into a restroom for match number two against Gorgeous Matsuno. They fought over to a balcony where Matsuno used a tarp rope to attempt the Gorgeous Superstar Elbow. That obviously didn’t work and Ihashi leapt on top of him for the three count. Ihashi had to go down to the lobby and interrupt a DAMNATION autograph session for Match #3 against Mad Paulie. They moved over to the ring where Ihashi ran the length of ringside to do a Lariat. Paulie countered it with a Lou Thesz Press, got the three count and went back to the autograph table. An exhausted Ihashi looked around the halls for his first of two mystery opponents and found Rocky Kawamura. He put on a pair of boxing gloves and sparred with Kawamura until he got knocked out and pinned. Possibly dazed and confused or just by being a pervert, Ihashi found the women’s locker room and entered it. Saki Akai and Cherry ran out screaming but one person walked out of the shower and stayed. It was Lingerie Muto! He attacked Ihashi with shampoo, gave him a Dragon Screw and hit the Shining Wizard to end the match. Ihashi finishes the series with two wins and three losses.

During the ending credits, Akito sadly showed off his new bald head, Takagi was slapped down by Kayoko then their two daughters did standing Moonsaults onto him and Amon Tsurumi was seen pleading for his job back.

Suwama, Ultimo Dragon, Hideki Suzuki and Abdullah Kobayashi will all compete at the 22nd October show in Korakuen Hall. This is the same event where the Top 20 wrestlers in the Dramatic General Election will be booked.

One of the trends DDT is following as part of its 20th Anniversary is to return to venues that housed their events as they grew. One of the venues is Shibuya Club ATOM where DDT will have a special nostalgia show on 13th September. Three matches are announced so far. Takeshita, Akito & Poison Sawada JULIE take on NωA. Takagi, Dino, Muscle Sakai and Ohka will fight in a 4 Way Match. Lastly, Shuten-dōji face HERO!, MIKAMI & Tanomusaku Toba.

octopus-harashima-ishikawa

HARASHIMA is now a 9-time KO-D Openweight Champion! If he was feeling intimidated by the challenge to topple Shuji Ishikawa off his throne, he didn’t show it. Instead he made every kick and Knee Strike count, wearing down the champion. Ishikawa did hit the Splash Mountain but HARASHIMA kicked out of that. Eventually the kicks were all too much for Ishikawa to bear and HARASHIMA ended the match with the Swan Dive Somato. HARASHIMA credited the crowd’s support for helping him win back the title. He enjoyed fighting Shuji with all of his effort and wants to do it again and again. GM Amon Tsurumi asked if HARASHIMA wanted a particular wrestler to face him in a title match at Korakuen Hall on Christmas Day. HARASHIMA thought about it and nominated Shigehiro Irie because he was pinned by Irie in a tag match back last month. Irie says he will return to America in 2017. His first trip was done to make him stronger. Now his goal is to win the KO-D Title and bring it with him to the USA!

octopus-kod-tag

DAMANTION had a bad night overall. Not only did Ishikawa lose the KO-D Title but Daisuke Sasaki & Tetsuya Endo lost the KO-D Tag Team Titles too. Not only that but they lost it to their bitter rivals Happy Motels. Sasaki again did his Low Blow to Sasaki Hurricanrana combo that’s been so effective this year but this time Konosuke Takeshita kicked out. Meanwhile Mike Bailey was focused on getting revenge against the champions which ended with him intercepting Endo’s Springboard Dropkick with a Springboard Dropkick of his own. He then flattened Endo outside the ring with a Shooting Star Press. With a clear target on Sasaki, Takeshita threw him over with the Geman Suplex and got the three count to win the tag titles. This is Takeshita’s third time holding the tag title while Bailey gets his first championship in DDT.

octopus-extreme

The DDT Extreme Title was put on the line in a straight up Hardcore Match. Danshoku Dino had to be violent against Jun Kasai and did so by putting him through a table with the Danshoku Driver. Kasai fought back by grabbing a bundle of bamboo skewers and shoving them in Dino where there sun doesn’t shine. That plan came back to haunt Kasai when Dino grabbed the skewers and shoved them into Kasai’s mouth. He then dug them into the top of Kasai’s head and gave him another Danshoku Driver but Kasai kicked out! Kasai dug the skewers into Dino’s head and hit the Reverse Tiger Driver but Dino kicked out of that too! Finally Kasai pulled his tights down and gave Dino a Danshoku version of the Reverse Tiger Driver. This time it did the job and Kasai became the new Extreme Champion! Kasai said before the match Dino told him how handsome he was and his love for him was true. Kasai’s response is he’s not gay but thanks for the match. Dino gave him the middle finger, said he loves him and returned to the locker room. Kasai said now he is the champion he will dye the belt with colour. As he left the ring he went over to the commentary table and gave Yoshihiro Takayama a deep kiss, making him faint into his chair.

octopus-tlc

To commemorate DDT’s upcoming 20th Anniversary a special TLC Match took place between Sanshiro Takagi, Kota Ibushi & Gota Ihashi against Dick Togo, Antonio Honda & former DDT turned FREEDOMS wrestler Takashi Sasaki. The “T” in this match stood for Takoyaki which was being cooked by Nobuhiro Shimatani at ringside. Togo immediately slumped into the corner when the match began. He apologised but his heart wasn’t in it. He could only gain the spirit to wrestle if Honda told the tale of “Gon, The Little Fox”. This was all just a ruse for Togo’s team to attack when their opponents dropped their guard. Togo grabbed Takagi’s bicycle and spun the rear tyre against Ihashi’s head. Ibushi intercepted the bicycle but Togo cut him off by spraying him with a fire extinguisher. Togo and Ihashi both climbed a ladder and Togo knocked him off it by feeding him piping hot Takoyaki. He then put Ihashi in the Crippler Crossface while Honda fed Ihashi more Takoyaki. Special guest Hyota Echizenya made an appearance wearing a Kotatsu table over his back. Takagi put the Kotatsu over himself and tried to splash Sasaki through another table but missed. Outside the ring another table was set up to act as a ramp for Ibushi to cycle jump into Togo. However Togo moved and Ibushi crashed into Ihashi instead. Back in the ring Takagi used the Kotatsu as a shield to block chairshots. He then lied down and ordered Ibushi to give Honda the Last Ride onto the Kotatsu above him. After the match Togo shook Takagi’s hand but then gave him the Pedigree, all while Takagi was still wearing the Kotatsu table.

octopus-sakaguchi-higuchi

Yukio Sakaguchi rebounded from his TKO defeat to Yoshihiro Takayama last month with a victory here. With Masakatsu Funaki holding back Takayama, Sakaguchi was able to pin Kazusada Higuchi with the Right Knee Of God. Funaki said backstage that he has teamed with various wrestlers but did not get along with many of them. He gets along with Sakaguchi though and both of them are interested in winning championships.

octopus-yuni

The 3rd grade student Yuni made his debut, probably being the youngest person to ever wrestle in Osaka Edion Arena. The 8 year old’s big spots in the match were a Moonsault and also an elevated Dropkick using Irie and Yasu Urano as steps to get the height necessary to hit the target. Urano thought Yuni’s performance was amazing and gave him a score of 100 points. Yuni’s goal is to win the KO-D Title before he turns 10 years old.

octopus-porkbun

Ever since the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title came back to DDT the champion has had sleepless nights. Whoever holds the belt becomes so paranoid that they lose sleep. Toru Owashi entered the building as the champion but he was so tired from fighting off ambushes that he needed rest. He ate a Pork Bun he found on a bed backstage but then fell asleep with the Pork Bun on top of him. 1…2…3! The Pork Bun was now champion. It was brought down to the ring for the Battle Royal and somehow outwrestled Kazuki Hirata. Everything was going great until Mad Paulie entered and ate the Pork Bun to win the title. He knocked Dai Suzuki around the ring until everyone piled on top them. Paulie was pinned and Suzuki was declared the champion. When Owashi woke up and entered the hall he stopped Suzuki from fleeing and trapped him in the Paradise Lock on the entrance ramp where Suzuki stayed for the rest of the match. It took the combined powers of Kuishinbo Kamen and Kikutaro to send Owashi back to sleep. The match came down to them and although Kamen won the title, Kikutaro crotched him on the ropes after the match and used the 24/7 rule to escape with the belt. However at the end of the show Kikutaro found the Kotatsu used in the TLC match and used it to take a nap. 1…2…3! The Kotatsu became the champion. Hyota Echizenya walked in and tried to pick up the table. 1…2…3! Echizenya is now the champion!

octopus-kong-akai

Aja Kong & LiLiCo were too strong for the Kawaii Connection to handle. They cut off Saki Akai from Lady Beard and Kong dominated her up until the finish. LiLiCo even did her own version of the Spinning Backfist. In the post-match interview Kong reiterated that DDT was wrong to use LiLiCo like a toy by parading her around for some dating nonsense. Maybe as punishment they should go after the KO-D Tag Team Titles!

octopus-yoshimura

The show kicked off proper with the debut of Naomi Yoshimura, the latest rookie to wrestle for DNA. He got to show off his power by repeatedly Body Slamming Yuki Ueno then hitting a big Power Slam. His finishing move was a release Power Bomb. KUDO notes that it is a new era for DDT and it’s his job now not to lose to the new blood. Yoshimura says he wants to fight Higuchi because he is the strongest in DNA however he also wants to be on his side until he is ready to fight him. Also Yoshimura looks up to Zeus and Yuji Hino as wrestlers of inspiration.

octopus-dark

Nobuhiro Shimatani continues his downward spiral to the bottom of DDT when he was defeated in the dark match. The current King Of Dark Champion hit a couple of Standing Shooting Stars in a row to Kouki Iwasaki but eventually fell to the usual rookie killer move, the Crab Hold.

octopus-sasadango

Super Sasadango Machine hopes to return to the ring in time for DDT’s 20th Anniversary show in Saitama Super Arena on 20th March. He received a message of support from Yoshihiro Takayama on Facebook which has given him encouragement.

More information for DDT Universe has become known. The video on demand service launches on 23rd January, 2017 and the first live broadcast will be “SWEET DREAMS! 2017” on 29th January. The monthly price is 900 yen a month but the first month of the subscription will be free.

DDT’s first music festival put together a mixture of pro wrestling and pop music concerts. There were many, many, many musical acts performing throughout the day so I’m just going to focus on the wrestling portion of the show.

ddtfes-double-german

The main event was Shigehiro Irie’s first match back in DDT since he left for an American excursion back in July. Irie teamed with Konosuke Takeshita to take on HARASHIMA & Yukio Sakaguchi. Irie’s time away wrestling in another country looks to have paid off because he ended up beating one of the headliners for “OSAKA OCTOPUS 2016”! He and Takeshita celebrated by inviting musician Kenji Ohtsuki into the ring. Irie requested for Ohtsuki to make him a new entrance song. Ohtsuki said if Sanshiro Takagi is willing to pay him an exorbitant price, he can get to working on the song.

ddtfes-anywhere

Kota Ibushi also returned to DDT for a big 8-Man Tag Team Falls Count Anywhere match against DAMNATION. This was Ibushi and Daisuke Sasaki’s first match together since they were part of the Golden☆Storm Riders. The match began away from the ring and near the stage. In fact, NωA were on stage ready to perform their new song when the other wrestlers came by and literally kicked them off the stage to continue their match. Ibushi and Mad Paulie squared off by spraying each other with cola. The match then spread over to a nearby swimming pool. Paulie intercepted Takagi’s Combat Bicycle but wound up cycling into the pool. Sasaki & Tetsuya Endo then Suplexed Ibushi in with Gota Ihashi joining when he tried to stop them. Back near the ring Endo Moonsaulted from a handrail while Sasaki and Ibushi fought up to a second floor balcony. Sasaki grabbed Ibushi’s arm, stood on the balcony and did the Jinsei Shinzaki rope walk across the rail! Meanwhile Kazusada Higuchi jumped off the VIP seat area to splash Paulie through a table! Shuji Ishikawa directed the match back to the ring where he fought with Takagi. Eventually Ihashi found himself in a 1 Vs 4 predicament against all of DAMNATION. He had no chance and was given the Splash Mountain followed by the Sky Twister Press to end a chaotic match. Surprisingly it turns out Sasaki and Ibushi still get along. Sasaki said it’s been a year since they last saw each other and he didn’t know what Ibushi was up to until he checked the internet. Meanwhile he conquered DDT with the kingdom of DAMNATION. Sasaki wished Ibushi the best and they shook hands.

ddtfes-rocknroll

Antonio Honda was sidelined with love-sickness and unable to compete. Luckily A.YAZAWA was brought in to replace him. YAZAWA was accompanied by the Bed Inn Girls while Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi had Akira Shimizu in his corner. It was a Rock ‘N’ Roll Death Match where everyone had to stop wrestling and dance whenever music was played. The Bed Inn Girls stripped down to their swimsuits to distract Hiroshi but Shimizu’s own music then played. His live singing made Hiroshi concentrate and win the match.

ddtfes-dish

The members of DISH// helped fight off Danshoku Dino with Dropkicks after Match #5. Dino claimed before the show that one of the band would betray the others. The guilty party admitted to this and ran off being chased by the others.

ddtfes-takayama-dance

Throughout the show NωA’s musical performance kept on getting interrupted. Not only did the Falls Count Anywhere match push them away but Yoshihiro Takayama’s entrance cut off their original set too. NωA declared they will finally sing their new song after they beat Takayama’s team. That didn’t happen. Instead Kazuki Hirata placed his HIRATA GO! glasses on Takayama and the giant gave Big Boots to all NωA members on route to victory. However there was a happy ending for NωA. At the very end of the show they came out and got to sing their new song “Going My ωay!! ~You Are Not Alone~”.

ddtfes-manjigatame

The wrestlers in Match #3 were all at the mercy of the Kinnikuman character Stecase King. He was the DJ for the match and would play different theme songs throughout the match. The wrestlers were powerless to the music and found themselves mimicking the wrestlers associated with the famous theme songs. Kikutaro transformed into Stan Hansen and Jumbo Tsuruta while Yoshihiko became a shoot wrestler when the UWF Theme was played. It then did some high flying spots during “Sky High”. The match ended when “Honō no Fighter” came on and everyone on KUDO’s team applied the Manjigatame to their opponents until they submitted.

ddtfes-cherry-matsuno

Gorgeous Matsuno tried to be a leader and told LiLiCo he would teach their opponents “the rigours of professional wrestling”. That was easier said than done. Cherry was in a sour mood and told Guanchulo to kill the “old hag” LiLiCo. Some miscommunication caused Cherry and Guanchulo to hit each other and Matsuno caught Guanchulo in a School Boy to win.

ddtfes-ladybeard-leaves

Toru Owashi, Saki Akai & Nobuhiro Shimatani came out with new looks to fit in with the band Kameleo in the opener. Their opponents came out looking macho because they were accompanied by the Macho 29. Lady Beard had to leave early to go prepare for a live NHK interview so the Macho 29 team had to fight a 2 Vs 3 disadvantage. Sanshiro Takagi eventually came to the rescue to big fanfare but an accidental Lariat to Seiya Morohashi cost them the match.

DDT “SAITAMA SLAM! VOL. 15”, 08/10/2016
Saitama Kasukabe Hall
350 Fans – Super No Vacancy Full House

0. King Of Dark Title: Tomomitsu Matsunaga & Cherry defeated Nobuhiro Shimatani (c) & Saki Akai when Matsunaga pinned Shimatani with a Cradle Crush (8:27).
*D1 for Nobuhiro Shimatani.
1. Sound And TV Match Facing A Prelude: Shuji Ishikawa & Mad Polly defeated Danshoku Dino & Makoto Oishi when Polly pinned Oishi with the Polly Buster (9:38).
2. Keisuke Ishii & Kouki Iwasaki defeated Soma Takao & Mizuki Watase when Ishii pinned Takao with the High Angle Double Arm DDT (9:01).
3. Yoshihiro Takayama & Kazusada Higuchi defeated Toru Owashi & Yasu Urano when Takayama pinned Urano with the Running Kneelift (10:46).
4. LiLiCo’s New Boyfriend Decision 4 Way Match: Kazuki Hirata (w/ Sanshiro Takagi) defeated Gota Ihashi (w/ Amon Tsurumi), Kikutaro (/w Yukinori Matsui) and Guanchulo (/w Danshoku Dino) (10:26).
4a. Kikutaro eliminated Gota Ihashi with a Cradle (3:15).
4b. Kazuki Hirata eliminated Guanchulo after a Double Thrust Kick with Kikutaro (8:01).
4c. Kazuki Hirata eliminated Kikutaro with the Reverse One Shot Miracle Cradle (10:26).
-. Exhibition Match: Yuki Ueno Vs Keisuke Ishii ended in a Time Limit Draw (3:00).
5. Konosuke Takeshita, Antonio Honda & Mike Bailey defeated Yukio Sakagichi, Masahiro Takanashi & Rekka when Honda pinned Takanashi with the Diving Fist Drop (13:26).
6. Smile Squash Vs DAMNATION!: Daisuke Sasaki & Tetsuya Endo defeated HARASHIMA & Akito when Sasaki pinned Akito with the Sasaki Hurricanrana (19:33).

Daisuke Sasaki was able to pin Akito by countering the Hanamasa into a Hurricanrana. Sasaki that the win was no big deal and HARASHIMA’s era ended a long time ago.

It turns out Mike Bailey made it to the show in time after all. He was originally pulled from the card when his flight to Japan was delayed. But he got to Saitama in time and was added back in the last minute. Rekka was thrown in with Shuten-dōji to make it a 6-Man Tag Match. When Antonio Honda grabbed the victory he said Happy Motels were ready to win the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles on 10th October.

LiLiCo came to Kasukabe Hall for DDT’s version of Blind Date except there was no Cilla Black for several obvious reasons. Danshoku Dino, Sanshiro Takagi, Amon Tsurumi and Yukinori Matsui all gathered eligible men to fight for LiLiCo’s companionship and the last one standing would get the opportunity to win her love. Takagi gave Kazuki Hirata a 5 yen coin on a string so he could hypnotise LiLiCo into falling in love with him. Dino convinced Guanchulo to take part so he could get a visa that would let him stay in Japan forever. Matsui brought in Kikutaro so Kikutaro could get LiLiCo’s money. Tsurumi couldn’t find anyone until Gota Ihashi pleaded to be his pick. LiLiCo wasn’t impressed with her options. Hirata won her over when he gave her the HIRATA GO! glasses and they danced on their way to Hirata winning the match. However Hirata wasn’t interested in LiLiCo and it turned out nobody else in the match really cared either. So Dino, Takagi, Tsurumi & Matsui gathered together to find another solution. Matsui suggested they go find Kuishinbo Kamen or Magnitude Kishiwada only to be reminded they already have wives. Their discussion was interrupted when Aja Kong appeared! Kong was pissed at seeing these men toying with LiLiCo’s emotions so she was going to do something about it. Kikutaro told everyone to leave it to him and he grabbed Kong’s breast. Kong and LiLiCo knocked him out. They then gave Hirata a Double Brainbuster. Kong then got angry at Tsurumi for not booking her at any of this year’s Sumo Hall shows. When Kong found out about the big Osaka Edion Arena show in December she told everyone that she and LiLiCo will team up on that show. Tsurumi accepted it without any hesitation.

Keisuke Ishii pinning Soma Takao in Match #2 will probably have ramifications for Soma’s AJPW Jr. Title.

Danshoku Dino worked out that Shuji Ishikawa has a 40% chance of beating him at their KO-D Openweight Title match. Ishikawa brushed those calculations aside and said he can beat Dino under normal conditions. Ishikawa & Mad Polly beating Dino & Makoto Oishi was proof of that. Oishi’s beaten body set a fire in Dino’s heart. Dino said he will fight for Oishi when he faces Ishikawa again tomorrow.

Now that the DDT Dramatic General Election is over, T2Hide had an announcement to make. Sanshiro Takagi was shocked that a large group of 11 wrestlers finished in 5th place. He believed now is the time for the group to disband. Toru Owashi slapped him for saying such a selfish thing. Owashi instead wanted to cut down on members and gave everyone an opportunity to quit. He closed his eyes for five seconds and whoever stayed in the ring when he opened his eyes would continue to be part of the group. Only Takagi and Kazuki Hirata stayed so now T2Hide is back to consisting of just its three original members.

The rivalry between Saki Akai and Cherry is flaring up again. They were both in the King Of Dark Title Match and Cherry wanted to make sure Akai would become the champion. Cherry convinced everyone to make a temporary rule change where whoever took the loss became the champion even if the current champion Nobuhiro Shimatani wasn’t involved. In the match itself Cherry tried hard to make sure Akai would get beaten but instead Shimatani took the fall and remained champion. Cherry told Akai she narrowly escaped and she is looking forward to their match at Korakuen Hall.

Shigehiro Irie is expected to return from the USA soon. One of his first matches back will be at the “DDT FES 2016” on 6th November. It will be Irie & Konosuke Takeshita Vs HARASHIMA & Yukio Sakaguchi!

Ohka said Amon Tsurumi put that on the screen without his permission. Ohka has promised to retire if the show doesn’t sell out. Not only that but a lot of money was borrowed to put this show together. If that isn’t bad enough their T-shirt design for the occasion hasn’t been completed yet and the DVD team are too busy putting together a Ganbare Vs Tomodachi-gun release so they can’t immediately work on editing the Korakuen show as soon as it ends. Also Yumehito Imanari wants to put his match with Viper on the DVD even though that has nothing to do with the Tomodachi-gun feud.
