For the first time in 2026 BASARA will go back to the courtroom for a Turnabout Pro Wrestling trial. Ayato Yoshida will be stepping into stand as the defendant while Gouma Ryu and Banana Senga will argue their cases over him. What Yoshida is on trial for hasn’t been revealed yet.

A new business deal has been put together this year for DDT to hold wrestling shows at different Mitsui Outlet Park shopping centers. As part of this deal a new championship has been created to be exclusively defended at these shows. The inaugural MOP Tag Team Champions will be crowned at the first show being held at the end of the month. There will be at least two other shows as part of the tour happening in April.

One of the memorable interactions that happened at last year’s Toru Yano Vs Super Sasadango Machine one match show was Antonio Honda and YOH bonding over a Gongitsune joke. YOH has a hatred of foxes going back to when he was bitten by one as a child but Honda got him to join in with telling the joke. Now almost one year later they will meet in the ring again, this time one on one against each other in a wrestling match!

She was said to be just a Yamada Suisan employee who wanted to become a pro wrestler but the real story is that she, Unagi Mask and Super Unagi Mask are all siblings who spent their lives near each other without ever knowing about it! The family needs to be a united force because Chris Brookes & Antonio Honda have formed an alliance with Aja Kong to wipe out the sea food loving wrestlers!

Rumours were swirling around yesterday when a Japanese wrestling blog Kakutolog posted a story about Shinjuku FACE possibly shutting down its doors later this year. Sadly, today the venue’s management confirmed that Shinjuku FACE will be closing down on 30th September when their fixed-term lease with the building expires. To say this is a blow for the Japanese wrestling scene is an understatement given how so many wrestling companies are based in Tokyo and have relied on Shinjuku FACE to put on shows that aren’t on the level of Korakuen Hall but are still easy to access deep in the heart of that city. If Korakuen Hall is where you go to get a heat check on a wrestling company, Shinjuku FACE is where you will experience that company’s status quo. It will have a negative effect on the CyberFight promotions for sure because of how often they’ve booked shows in there over the last 20 years.

Kota Sekifuda has been brought in to take the place of the injured Yuni in Match #1.

Maybe at the end of the show the fans vote to shut the whole thing down.

A big month of singles matches lies ahead for YuuRI. She has two important opponents to fight soon, the first of which is Rin (aka Rin Kadokura) as part of Rin’s road to retirement.

The second of YuuRI’s big matches will be against Marigold’s own Utami Hayashihita!

2. The 1st UNIVERSE CUP – Round 1: Sanshiro Takagi defeated Great Mummy with the Stunner (8:23).
3. The 1st UNIVERSE CUP – Round 1: Naomichi Marufuji defeated Kuroshio TOKYO Japan with the Perfect Neck Lock (9:12).
4. Takumi Iroha, Utami Hayashishita & Miyuki Takase Vs Mayu Iwatani, Mika Iwata & Mio Momono ended in a Time Limit Draw (20:00).
5. The 1st UNIVERSE CUP – Round 1: The Great Sasuke defeated Isami Kodaka with La Magistral Cradle (12:24).
6. The 1st UNIVERSE CUP – Round 1: Hayabusa defeated Yumehito Imanari with the Firebird Splash (14:06).

The first round of the inaugural UNIVERSE CUP took place, pitting eight wrestlers from eight different promotions against each other. The common ground linking almost all of the promotions together is that they are a part of the Wrestle Universe streaming service. Add in the randomness of Monday Magic and the result is a bunch of unexpected surprises in store both in and out of the tournament.

Hayabusa from ZERO1 defeated Yumehito Imanari from Ganbare☆Pro in the main event. Imanari was crushed over the loss because he was originally part of Wrestle Universe from the very beginning when it was called DDT Universe. Hayabusa will meet Naomichi Marufuji from NOAH in the semi-final. Marufuji had to deal with Kuroshio TOKYO Japan’s antics today. Even thought Kuroshio lost, he doesn’t want to go away. The Uptown wrestler asked Marufuji backstage if he can come over to NOAH? Marufuji simply told him no.

The Great Sasuke and Isami Kodaka went wild for their 1st Round match. The Michinoku Pro legend gave Kodaka a Piledriver onto the entrance ramp and also slammed him onto a pile of chairs at ringside. Kodaka almost got him back with a Brainbuster but Sasuke pinned the BASARA wrestler with La Magistral Cradle for the victory. Kodaka hopes he can come back to Monday Magic and maybe get some NOAH bookings too. Sanshiro Takagi had an adventure of his own when he had to fight not just one mummy, but two! While he fought The Great Mummy in the ring, NOSAWA Rongai brought down a second Great Mummy to add some confusion to the mix. Luckily for Takagi, Mecha Mummy showed up to help him and Takagi went on to win the match for DDT. NOSAWA swears he will get revenge on Takagi by sending his mummy wrestlers over to invade Super Japan!

There’s been one CyberFight promotion that has stayed away from Monday Magic but that’s all going to change next month. Tokyo Joshi Pro will finally have some involvement in the show, although it is going to be for a match they are putting together by themselves. There will also be a small Royal Rumble style match for the joshi wrestlers so maybe TJPW will start to mix in with the rest of the scene after all.

1. Fuminori Abe defeated Takeru Inoue with the O-Manjigatame (9:52).
2. SAGAT & Lil’ Kraken defeated Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi & Banana Senga (w/ Gouma Ryu) when SAGAT pinned Hiroshi with the Gore Grind (9:51).
3. Ryota Nakatsu & Isami Kodaka defeated FUMA & Seiya Morohashi when Nakatsu pinne FUMA with a Jackknife Pin (13:19).
4. Takumi Tsukamoto, Daiki Shimomura & Tatsuya Hanami defeated Takato Nakano, Masato Kamino & Yasu Urano when Tsukamoto pinned Nakano with the Spinning Zudon (15:24).
5. Union MAX Title – 3 Way Match: Shuji Ishikawa (c) defeated Daichi Kazato and Tsutomu Oosugi when Ishikawa pinned Kazato with the Splash Mountain (15:29).
*V2 for Shuji Ishikawa.

Shuji Ishikawa survived a 3 Way Match against two opponents who spent most of the match teaming up against him. The alliance between Daichi Kazato and Tsutomu Oosugi eventually broke down and that proved to be both of their downfalls. With them divided, Ishikawa found his spot to attack and won the match by pinning Kazato with the Splash Mountain. After the match he said a wrestler’s individuality is what makes them tick although Kazato is maybe a little too unique. Backstage Ishikawa said the match has sharpened his mind and he’ll keep defending his Union MAX Title. Oosugi took the responsibility for moving away from the plan with Kazato. He admitted to changing his mind halfway through the match when he started thinking he could win by himself. Kazato explained how the true enemy is the one within yourself. He thinks they can both beat Ishikawa next time if they can convince Takeru Inoue to join in and make the fight three against one.

The two teams in the upcoming Iron Fist Tag Team Titles match quickly got into a brawl with each other in Match #4. Takumi Tsukamoto ended up scoring the win for his side after giving Takato Nakano the Spinning Zudon. Despite feeling sore, Nakano said Aijin Tag are ready for the next warm up match as well as the tag title match later this month. Masato Kamino said Aijin Tag will win the Iron Fist Tag Titles because the belts were made for them. Tsukamoto is confident that he and Daiki Shimomura have what it takes to beat them on 27th March. They also doubt the challengers love the championships as much as they claim they do.

Each match will have a ten minute time limit. As best as I can tell, the winner of the one night round robin will be whoever has the highest score of total falls in all of their Iron Man matches combined. Given the show consists of ten Iron Man Matches that sounds like a nightmare to keep track of for one night.

The first two “URANO EN” events that Yasu Urano put together took place last year and were both Iron Man matches with Ikuto Hidaka and Akito respectively. The matches are on Minoru Fujita’s Youtube channel under the Live archive tab. I don’t think I’m going to follow this regularly unless BASARA continues to help promote it.

BASARA “BASARA 300 ~UTAGE~” Results

2. 3 Way Match: Yasu Urano defeated Isami Kodaka and SAGAT when Urano pinned SAGAT with a Backslide Pin (10:00).
3. Takato Nakano & Masato Kamino defeated Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi & Banana Senga when Nakano pinned Hiroshi with the Modified Kenkatabami (13:18).
4. Shuji Ishikawa, Daichi Kazato & Tsutomu Oosugi defeated FUMA, Ryuichi Sekine & Lil’ Kraken when Oosugi pinned Kraken with the Tsuki no Ishi (11:49).
5. Iron Fist Tag Team Titles: Takumi Tsukamoto & Daiki Shimomura (c) defeated Ryota Nakatsu & Yuki Ishida when Tsukamoto pinned Ishida with the Running Zudon (16:41).
*V2 for Takumi Tsukamoto & Daiki Shimomura.

The Iron Fist Tag Team Champions had some sumo spirit of their own to combat Harimao and their “Dosukoi” efforts. Ryota Nakatsu & Yuki Ishida both had Daiki Shimomura scouted and came up with ways to keep him grounded. But Takumi Tsukamoto knew to target Ishida and had counters for the Flame Palm. Nakatsu made the mistake of missing Tsukamoto with a Lariat and hitting Ishida with it instead. He made up for it by breaking the pin after the Zudon but Tsukamoto couldn’t be stopped from using the running version of his finisher to pin Ishida.

After the match Tsukamoto praised his opponents and told Ishida he loves sumo so much he may as well be an expert of the sport. He knew Ishida was a strong sumo wrestlers so he was incredibly happy to fight him today. He then told Shimomura he doesn’t expect anybody to come out and challenge them so they should leave. However Aijin Tag then walked out and told the champions they are going to get the next title shot. Tsukamoto then played it off like he was expecting this to happen and Aijin Tag just fell into his trap. Takato Nakano told him Aijin Tag will show everyone that they are BASARA’s longest running tag team for a reason. He also later told Masato Kamino that he’s been messing around too much lately.

All three participants in the next Union MAX Title match were teaming together today. Daichi Kazato made it a difficult experience for the team because he spent more time trying to provoke Shuji Ishikawa than he did their opponents. Then whenever he did try to fight the other team he kept self-destructing with his moves. Kazato finally found his groove doing double team moves with Tsutomu Oosugi until Ishikawa decided to throw him out of the ring with the Splash Mountain! Oosugi then knocked Ishikawa out of the ring and got to win the match by himself. Ishikawa criticised Kazato, calling him a boring and self-centred wrestler. Kazato wants to know why Ishikawa really came back to BASARA and likened him to a middle aged man returning to his alma mater to regain his self-esteem. Meanwhile Oosugi later let some reporters know that he will be using Kazato as his secret weapon to win the 3 Way Match for the MAX Title!

However Kazuma Sumi is riding a wave of momentum going into the final and seems to have more locker room support than the recently gone loner Masada.

Sumi being in the final rips apart my theory that he is the new member of Strange Love Connection.

Ryoma Tsukamoto makes an unexpected appearance to fill in for Daichi Sato.

Finally all four members of FANTÔMES DRAMATIC are all teaming together.

Yasu Urano is putting together a one day Round Robin tournament between himself, Ikuto Hidaka, Ayato Yoshida, Fuminori Abe and Ilusion. Urano chose that lineup because he wanted two wrestlers in their 50s, two in their 30s and one in his 20s. But here’s the catch. Every match is an Iron Man match, ten in total!

The aftermath of the DGC group stages left To-y in bad humour because Yuki Ishida was partially responsible for him failing to win the A Block. That then led to To-y bringing up the time Ishida got drunk on a night out and To-y had to pay his tab of 40,000 yen. He figured out a DDT Extreme Title match between the two can settle the matter. If To-y wins then not only does he defend his championship but Ishida will have to pay him back the 40,000 yen!
