This morning Tokyo Joshi Pro announced that Yuka Sakazaki will be returning to AEW for an excursion next month. Sakazaki will wrestle her match with Suzume on 1st July in Japan and afterwards will travel to America for a month long stay. It will be Sakazaki’s first time wrestling in USA since February 2020, before the Covid-19 pandemic became global. Due to this absence, Sakazaki will not be entering this year’s Tokyo Princess Cup. Unless there is a change with Japan’s two week self isolation rule over travelling, Sakazaki will not be back in TJPW until after the 7th August show. She is guaranteed to be back wrestling on the 14th August Korakuen Hall show onwards. I figure there might be one or two episodes of “THAT’S J-PW” with her still in it that will air on WRESTLE UNIVERSE while she is gone.

If Yamashita couldn’t make her dream come true then Sakisama promises to make it come true on her behalf.

They kept shouting “Pissari!” and “NeppoWER!!” back and forth to each other throughout the meeting. HARASHIMA and Konosuke Takeshita are keeping their eyes on the prize. Takeshita said his recent form shows he is returning to the centre of DDT. He doesn’t want his momentum to stop and would like to be KO-D Tag Team Champions with Katsumata. Winning the belts in Osaka too would be a miracle for them. HARASHIMA is aware that it’s been a long time since he was focused on the Tag Titles. He looks forward to fighting against the Ultimate Tag League winners.

7. King Of DDT 2021 – Final: X Vs X

The King Of DDT final four have given their thoughts going into the final rounds. Daisuke Sasaki thinks he is now the strongest wrestler after beating both the DDT UNIVERSAL Champion and KO-D Openweight Champion in the first two rounds. However whenever he sees Takeshita he still feels the pain in the rib he broke from their D-Ou Grand Prix match last November. It’s time for revenge. But if he wins and faces Yuji Hino in the final, he will accept his fate and lose to Hino in 5 seconds. He’ll get the prize money anyway. Takeshita argues that Sasaki only beat the champions because he used Low Blows in those matches. He thinks he can beat him if he dodges those kind of attacks. Hino admits the tournament has been hard and he’s been fighting some big names throughout. If Takeshita does beat Sasaki then Hino promises to break his ribs in the final so Sasaki will get his revenge. Kazusada Higuchi is determined to advance past the semi-final for the first time. He won’t think about the final until he gets there.

A team of Olympians in one form or another are going after the KO-D 8-Man Tag Team Titles together. Joining Yoshiaki Yatsu is Akito, Hiroshi Yamato & Keigo Nakamura. All three of them asked to join by pointing to their amateur wrestling experience in the Junior Olympics. Akito finished 2nd in his 2004 class, Yamato finished 3rd in his 2002 class and Nakamura… was eliminated in the first round at the 2016 competition.

5. Isami Kodaka 19th Anniversary Match: Isami Kodaka Vs Kengo Mashimo

For a match to celebrate 19 years in the industry, Isami Kodaka has picked Kengo Mashimo as his opponent. Sometimes they get along, usually when they have to. But most of the time they don’t. There is a level of respect between them and I’m sure Mashimo will behave. With that said, he probably isn’t going to care if Kodaka gets roughed up more than usual on his special day.

TOKYO JOSHI PRO “ADDITIONAL ATTACK”, 17/06/2021

6. International Princess Title: Hikari Noa (c) Vs Marika Kobashi
7. Princess Tag Team Titles: Sakisama & Mei Saint-Michel (c) Vs Miyu Yamashita & Maki Itoh

With momentum on her side Miyu Yamashita now aims to be the first Double Princess Champion in Tokyo Joshi. Her tag partner Maki Itoh was upset that Yamashita didn’t call on her to join the photo call with Jun Akiyama and Naomichi Marufuji at the end of “CYBERFIGHT FESTIVAL 2021” that was used for the front cover of the latest Weekly Pro-Wrestling issue. Yoshihiko was on it but not Itoh? Come on! Yamashita cheered her up by saying she loves her and knows it was Itoh who cheered for her the most. They’ll make it to the cover of the next issue when they win the Princess Tag Team Titles.

Mei Saint-Michel has been preparing for the match by doing everything but pro wrestling. She’s been playing the piano, writing, learning ballet, doing tea ceremonies and much more. Sakisama promises to make the challengers scream. The more she makes them scream, the more it excites her. The date of the title match was scheduled without her permission so she’ll take her anger out on 121000000.

Six years into her career, Marika Kobashi is ready for her first singles title shot. She wants to win the International Princess Title, turn it into the International Gal Title and bring it to Shibuya where she will become the strongest Gal in the world! Hikari Noa is excited for the match because it proves the IP Title is all about the individuality of the champion and her challengers. She thinks of herself as the main character and her opponents are monsters she must beat one by one.

There is a lot of attention surrounding Yuki Arai’s arrival into TJPW. She is nervous going into her first singles match but wants to show everyone what she is capable of. Her opponent Mirai Maiumi isn’t going to let her hog all the spotlight. She too understands it is an important match. An unbreakable spirit is the biggest weapon a pro wrestler can have and Arai is sure to get one from her countless supporters. To combat this, Mirai has created her own idol unit called MSS48 (Mirai Strong Style 48). She is the only member so far but will recruit anyone who has the power, speed, mentality and excellence that matches her own.

Fujitsu Stadium Kawasaki

1. Current Blast Death Match: Atsushi Onita Vs X
2. KO-D Openweight Title: Jun Akiyama (c) Vs X

The next KO-D Openweight Title defence will be held in Kawasaki Stadium. The challenger is likely going to be the winner of King Of DDT 2021. The champion himself Jun Akiyama is entering the tournament and gets to nominate his challenger if he wins it. Akiyama has gone on record wanting to choose Sanshiro Takagi as his opponent so two wrestlers in their 50s will be fighting for the championship.

I guess if you’re going to do a major outdoor show at Kawasaki Stadium you have to have Atsushi Onita in an exploding ring death match. The venue will have two rings set up with one of them being used for the explosion match.

TAMURA and Raimu Imai from HEAT-UP will both be on the show. TAMURA is an 18 year veteran while Imai only turned professional last December.

BASARA has gone back on their decision to allow fans cheering at their shows in order to follow the current Tokyo Metropolitan safety guidelines. However they are using the same guidelines to allow banners and paper streamers again. Also they will no longer disinfect the wresting ring after every match. The guidelines suggest there is low risk of Covid-19 infection from touching surfaces and objects. Spectators are still required to wear masks, stay clean, take their temperatures and have contact information on hand if positive cases do happen.

12. GHC Heavyweight Title – Triple Main Event III: Keiji Muto (c) Vs Naomichi Marufuji

Konosuke Takeshita & Yuki Ueno see their match against Kaito Kiyomiya & Yoshiki Inamura as a battle between the modern generation of DDT and NOAH. Takeshita wants to win the match by a large margin while Ueno wants to prove DDT’s style of wrestling is strong because it is fun. Takeshita is treating the match like it is the main event.

The DDT Vs Kongo 12-Man Tag looks to be focusing on Yukio Sakaguchi and Kenoh. The rest of the DDT squad also take issue with Kenoh’s opinions about their company but Sakaguchi more than any other wants to face off with him. Sanshiro Takagi said the DDT team are all united. Akito threw out a jab by saying Kenoh is the only one out of Kongo that is talking and he’s not convinced that Kenoh wants to be in the match.

Yuki Arai admits to being nervous going into her second pro wrestling match. This will be the first one in front of fans. Maki Itoh is calling her team Saitama Itoh Respect Army 2021. Her partners Yuki Kamifuku & Marika Kobashi have been secretly working for her for the last six months. They seem to be okay with it because it is keeping them employed during the pandemic. Either that or they’ve been brainwashed.

5. King Of DDT 2021 – Round 2: Winner Of Match 1E Vs Winner Of Match 1F
6. King Of DDT 2021 – Round 2: Winner Of Match 1G Vs Winner Of Match 1H

A steak restaurant is sponsoring a match between Yusuke Okada and a mystery opponent. Why is this such a big deal? Well the restaurant belongs to “Big Daddy” Kiyoshi Hayashishita and he will be at ringside to watch the match. If that name sounds familiar it’s because Kiyoshi is the father of Utami Hayashishita from Stardom. To say she comes from a big family is the understatement of the century.

Eruption Near The Finish Line

May 20, 2021

I have a very busy weekend coming up in real life so there will be a delay in posting results and reports for a few days.

3. Yuki Kamifuku Vs Raku
4. Marika Kobashi Vs Moka Miyamoto
5. Miyu Yamashita & Maki Itoh Vs Yuka Sakazaki & Pom Harajuku

A doubleheader in Tokyo Joshi Pro sees the roster split in two for separate shows. Miyu Yamashita gets to sort out two things at once. She fights Yuka Sakazaki in a preview of Saitama Super Arena and also prepares for the Princess Tag Team Titles match with Maki Itoh.

The lone champion on the evening show is Hikari Noa. Her next opponent Marika Kobashi is on the day show so they are being kept apart for now.

Something to keep an eye on is YUMI’s Twitter account suddenly becoming active again. The former TJPW wrestler graduated from the company last July to focus on her education. This week she suddenly started tweeting daily, counting down the days “until the beginning of history”. The countdown ends this weekend but not exactly towards the TJPW shows. The reveal may turn out to be something other than a return to TJPW or even pro wrestling so we just have to wait and see.

BASARA “BASARA 158 ~THE 11TH FOX PRINCE~”, 05/06/2021
Tokyo Oji BASEMENT MON☆STAR

1. Heaven Summit ~Itadaki~ – Round 2A: Minoru Fujita Vs Daiki Shimomura

Only one Heaven Summit ~Itadaki~ match is happening on this show because Fuminori Abe Vs Takuya Nomura ended in a time limit draw, eliminating both of them from the tournament. Yasu Urano receives a bye straight to the semi-finals because of this. Daiki Shimomura is coming off of the biggest upset in Round 1, beating two time Itadaki winner Ryota Nakatsu. However that was under 2 Count Rules. Can he do the same against the veteran Minoru Fujita under the normal ruleset?

10. KO-D Openweight Title – Triple Main Event II: Jun Akiyama (c) Vs HARASHIMA
11. GHC Heavyweight Title – Triple Main Event III: Keiji Muto (c) Vs Naomichi Marufuji

The contracts have been signed for the three championship matches. The match order was decided by measuring the career achievements of the three current champions. That means the GHC Heavyweight Title match will be the last match on the show, the KO-D Openweight Title match will be before the GHC match and the Princess Of Princess Title match will be before the KO-D match.

Super Sasadango Machine tried to invade the NOAH show at Korakuen Hall on Saturday to negotiate who he will fight at Saitama Super Arena. Unfortunately he doesn’t understand how wrestlers are able to crash other companies and couldn’t get past the entrance because he had no ticket for the show.

TOKYO JOSHI PRO “ADDITIONAL ATTACK”, 17/06/2021
Tokyo Korakuen Hall

1. International Princess Title: Hikari Noa (c) Vs Marika Kobashi
2. Princess Tag Team Titles: Sakisama & Mei Saint-Michel (c) Vs Miyu Yamashita & Maki Itoh

Maki Itoh has a grand vision for 121000000. She wants herself and Miyu Yamashita to hold all the championships in Tokyo Joshi Pro. Yamashita can have the Princess Title, Itoh can get back the International Princess Title and they will also take one Princess Tag Team Title belt each. Now comes the tough job, beating NEO Biishiki-gun. They did it once before in February but NEO Biishiki-gun got their win back in the Max Heart Tournament final a month later. Time for the rubber match!

Now 20 years old, Marika Kobashi is challenging for her first singles title to prove she has grown up. There is some jealousy behind the move because she didn’t like seeing Hikari Noa win the IP Title before she did.
