BASARA “BASARA 252 ~TAKAGARI 26~”, 15/07/2024
Tokyo Takashimadaira Kumin Center

1. KUBITO, Yasu Urano & Masahiro Takanashi Vs Ryota Nakatsu, Takato Nakano & Masato Kamino
2. SAGAT & Judomaster Vs Banana Senga & Karate Master
3. Isami Kodaka & Lil’ Kraken Vs Daichi Kazato & Tsutomu Oosugi
4. FUMA Vs Gaia Hox
5. Union MAX Title: Minoru Fujita (c) Vs Takumi Tsukamoto

Gaia Hox is getting a big match against FUMA.

First it was Judomaster who appeared in the BASARA ring to learn pro wrestling. Now a masked man by the name of Karate Master has shown up looking to do the same. It’s a good thing too because Ryuichi Sekine slept through the last show and BASARA needed a last second replacement when they couldn’t find him.

TOKYO JOSHI PRO “SUMMER SUN PRINCESS ’24”, 20/07/2024
Tokyo Korakuen Hall

1. Yuki Kamifuku Vs Nao Kakuta
2. Special Single Match: Aja Kong Vs Shoko Nakajima
3. Princess Tag Team Titles: Suzume & Arisu Endo (c) Vs Yuki Arai & Moka Miyamoto
4. Princess Of Princess Title: Miu Watanabe (c) Vs Rika Tatsumi

The contracts for the two title matches at Korakuen Hall have been signed. We also got to hear about how Miu Watanabe and Rika Tatsumi are preparing for the Princess Of Princess Title match. Tatsumi is feeling confident because she has never lost to Watanabe previously. She often has a strategy for her matches. It’s just that once the bell rings, all of that strategy goes out the window and Tatsumi doesn’t realize what she is doing. That may explain her habit of strangling her opponents during matches. Watanabe understands that kind of creativity when she is next to Tatsumi but could never recreate it by herself. She thinks the key to finally beating Tatsumi will be a sudden burst of emotion that happens in the moment.

When Yuki Arai heard that Moka Miyamoto wanted to challenge Daisy Monkey for the Princess Tag Team Titles she offered to be her partner. It wasn’t that long ago when Arai said she was considering fighting for another championship before her next International Princess Title defence takes place. So the timing of Miyamoto looking for a tag title shot couldn’t have been better. It’s not a random pairing either. Arai & Miyamoto entered the 2022 Max Heart Tournament as a team and even defeated Daisy Monkey in the 2nd Round! Suzume & Arisu Endo both remember that loss and would love to get revenge.

TOKYO JOSHI PRO “HYPAMI AID” Results

TOKYO JOSHI PRO “HYPAMI AID”, 27/06/2024
Tokyo LOFT9 Shibuya
??? Fans – Unannounced

1. Special Single Match: Hyper Rika defeated Demonio Uno with the I Am A Hero from the Ladder (11:45).

While Hyper Misao is recovering from her ankle injury, Rika Tatsumi and Yuki Aino helped put together a fan event for her to help pay for her medical expenses. During the event the lights went out and a video of Demonio Uno played on the screen. There was negative aura inside LOFT9 Shibuya that attracted Uno to the venue. Normally Misao would be the hero and save the day but she is injured. Aino was also still feeling the effects of a recent illness. That means it was all up to Tatsumi to save the day!

Tatsumi was given Misao’s hero costume to change into and she returned to the room as Hyper Rika! Uno attacked Rika and chased her around the room. Misao helped out by spraying Uno in the face and Rika followed up by hitting Uno with the Hip Attack. Then on the stage Rika climbed a Ladder and used Misao’s finisher I Am A Hero to pin Uno for the three count.

1. Special Single Match: Sanshiro Takagi Vs Super Sasadango Machine

Apparently a lot of the wacky novelty tickets for the show have in fact been sold. Also Super Sasadango Machine tried inviting Toru Yano to come see the match in person. Unfortunately Yano’s schedule is too busy for him to attend the show tomorrow.

A busy week for Sanshiro Takagi. He has the wrestling match in a tram with Minoru Suzuki happening a few days later.

5. Miyu Yamashita & Toga Vs Mizuki & Shino Suzuki
6. Miu Watanabe, Suzume & Arisu Endo Vs Rika Tatsumi, Moka Miyamoto & Kaya Toribami
7. Shoko Nakajima & Yoshiko Hasegawa Vs Nao Kakuta & Yuki Aino

Now that Moka Miyamoto is looking for a Princess Tag Team Titles match in the future she needs to go find a partner. Could her match here provide a clue? If “SUMMER SUN PRINCESS ’24” is the destination for her title challenge then that rules Rika Tatsumi out of the equation but not Kaya Toribami. Does Toribami fight with the same passion as Miyamoto though? Doesn’t seem like a good fit to me.

7. Sanshiro Takagi Indefinite Rest Road ~ Special 6-Man Tag Match: Sanshiro Takagi, Yoshiaki Yatsu & Kuroshio TOKYO Japan Vs Tetsuya Endo, Yuki Iino & Yuya Koroku

The last time HARASHIMA and Yukio Naya fought each other was for a No. 1 Contender’s match back in February 2023. Naya won that match during his main event push for DDT’s anniversary show that year. Can Naya win again in the rematch or has HARASHIMA’s constant training caught him back up to the young heavyweight?

There hasn’t been much about D.O.A as a unit to talk about since they lost the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles. They have a chance to shove their way back into a crowded title scene if they beat The 37KAMIINA here.

5. KO-D Openweight Title: Yuki Ueno (c) Vs MAO

The match for the KO-D 6-Man Tag Titles is now getting crowded thanks to recent developments. Over the weekend DAMNATION T.A stole some of the title belts from Smile Squash after beating them in a tag match. Meanwhile To-y from The 37KAMIINA is also making demands for a title shot with Shunma Katsumata and an unknown third man as his partners. Smile Squash decided to let both teams fight them in a 3 Way Match for the titles so everything can get cleared up once the dust settles. As to who Katsumata & To-y are teaming with, they keep declining to say who it is out loud.

TOKYO JOSHI PRO “TJPW CITY CIRCUIT ’24” Results

TOKYO JOSHI PRO “TJPW CITY CIRCUIT ’24”, 23/06/2024
Shizuoka Act City Hamamatsu
237 Fans

1. Mahiro Kiryu defeated Chika Nanase with the Hotei Raoyui (6:19).
2. Shoko Nakajima & Kira Summer defeated Haru Kazashiro & Uta Takami when Nakajima submitted Takami with a Butterfly Lock (8:11).
3. Mizuki defeated Runa Okubo with the Face Lock (8:46).
4. Nao Kakuta defeated Shino Suzuki with the Shiden Kai (9:26).
5. Maki Itoh & Yuki Kamifuku defeated Raku & Pom Harajuku when Itoh submitted Harajuku with the Itoh Deluxe (10:05).
6. Miyu Yamashita, Moka Miyamoto & Toga defeated Suzume, Arisu Endo & Kaya Toribami when Miyamoto submitted Endo with the Rashomon (13:27).
7. Miu Watanabe & Wakana Uehara defeated Rika Tatsumi & HIMAWARI when Watanabe pinned HIMAWARI with the Tear Drop (13:01).

Two regular tag teams were mixed together in the main event. Daydream were having a prelim match against each other that also had Wakana Uehara and HIMAWARI involved. Rika Tatsumi & HIMAWARI worked together to get Uehara out of the way but Miu Watanabe came in to clean house. She got rid of Tatsumi with a Power Slam and then pinned HIMAWARI with the Tear Drop. Watanabe said the match made her more excited for “SUMMER SUN PRINCESS ’24” on 20th July. However she does not have a good read on Tatsumi yet. Tatsumi admits that Watanabe has become a real threat in the ring and today she felt the pain that she least wants to experience.

In a little bit of an upset Moka Miyamoto made Arisu Endo give up to the Rashomon in a 6-Woman Tag Match! The result came from Miyamoto countering out of Endo’s Ju no Okite finisher. Miyamoto reminded everyone afterward that she wants to fight for a championship soon. She laid out those plans after her match with Hikaru Shida earlier this month. Well based on today’s result Miyamoto now wants to challenge Daisy Monkey for the Princess Tag Team Titles. She will go look for a tag partner who can fight with the same passion she has. Both Suzume & Endo see her as an opponent they have to beat so they will accept her challenge.

Pom Harajuku brought along unagi pies as souvenirs for almost everyone in her match including the referee. She did not have any left for Yuki Kamifuku and Maki Itoh wouldn’t share any of hers. That caused Kamifuku to get upset and spend most of the match crying outside the ring while Itoh had to fight RakuPom by herself. Raku put Itoh into a Sleeper Hold, forcing a desperate Itoh to tell Kamifuku she can take her souvenir just so she will get back into the match and help her win.

Shizuoka’s own Shino Suzuki was given a special match against Nao Kakuta as part of Kakuta’s retirement road. Suzuki came close to winning with a Sleeper Hold but Kakuta was able to get a rope break and then win with the Shiden Kai. She was surprised to discover first hand just how much potential Suzuki has. It reminds her of herself when she was a rookie. Kakuta will be watching Suzuki from a distance soon and hopes she will rapidly grow in an environment as wonderful as Tokyo Joshi Pro.

Yuki Aino was pulled from the show because she was feeling unwell. That changed the card a little bit resulting in Mizuki Vs Runa Okubo and Mahiro Kiryu Vs Chika Nanase both happening.

The build up for “SUMMER SUN PRINCESS ’24” sees Daydream on opposite sides against each other. It’s not unusual to have matches where Miu Watanabe and Rika Tatsumi are on opposing teams. This time around the tension will be raised as they both prepare for the Princess Of Princess Title match in July.

Shizuoka is home for Shino Suzuki so she gets an important singles match against Kakuta when Tokyo Joshi Pro comes over for a visit.

Miyu Yamashita is now back in Japan after finishing up the last of her current American dates over the weekend. Her first match back in Tokyo Joshi Pro is reviving 121000000 with Maki Itoh.

Match #4 is important because it is taking place on the same day as Runa Okubo’s 16th birthday! Her team with Haru Kazashiro is currently being called HaruRuna while Shino Suzuku & Uta Takami have been shortened down to ShinoUta.

Both Vert Vixen and LA Taylor have come out of Korakuen Hall without any championships. They can at least try to get some commiseration wins here for their troubles.

As part of Sanshiro Takagi’s final matches, he convinced CIMA to be in the same ring as Danshoku Dieno & Kazuki Hirata again.

A return to Osaka means Tsutenkakka gets to be on DDT shows again. He gets a big match against HARASHIMA to see what he is made of. I mean other than steel because he is already a tower in the body of a pro wrestler.

TOKYO JOSHI PRO “SUMMER SUN PRINCESS ’24”, 20/07/2024
Tokyo Korakuen Hall

1. Special Single Match: Aja Kong Vs Shoko Nakajima
2. Princess Of Princess Title: Miu Watanabe (c) Vs Rika Tatsumi

TJPW’s big match for the summer is Daydream tearing each other apart for the Princess Of Princess Title! A match like this was always on the horizon and Rika Tatsumi thinks the time is now for it to happen. She wants to be the Princess Champion again even if it means having to take the belt from Miu Watanabe. That scenario happened before last year with the International Princess Title. Watanabe does not want history to repeat itself.

There’s been a couple of times already this year when Shoko Nakajima has been in the ring with Aja Kong. Now they get to fight each other one on one! It is a match both are looking forward too. Nakajima wants to have a wrestling career as long and illustrious as Kong’s, maybe even turn into the modern day equivalent of her. Kong meanwhile is isolating herself in the mountains in order to train for this match. That is how much she sees Nakajima as a threat to her.

Earlier today Chris Brookes was one of several DDT wrestlers who were part of El Desperado’s invitational show (I’ll write a post about the show this evening). Brookes got on the microphone after his match to talk to Desperado who was at the commentary booth. He said they’ve known each other for years now but have never been in a match together. So he challenged him to a match at DDT’s Sumo Hall show next month!

6. Shoko Nakajima, Mizuki, Rika Tatsumi & Yuki Aino defeated Wakana Uehara, HIMAWARI, Toga & Shino Suzuki when Tatsumi pinned Uehara with the Twist Of Fate (14:51).
7. International Princess Title: Yuki Arai (c) defeated LA Taylor with the Finally (10:09).
*V3 for Yuki Arai.
8. Princess Of Princess Title: Miu Watanabe (c) defeated Vert Vixen with the Tear Drop (17:17).
*V2 for Miu Watanabe.

Vert Vixen came back to Tokyo Joshi Pro in order to be Miu Watanabe’s second challenger of the Princess Of Princess Title. In the leadup to the match Watanabe unveiled a new submission hold she calls the Reverse Paradox in order to keep her opponent guessing. Maybe it was a mistake to reveal the move too early because Vixen had it scouted today, avoiding the move and being able to rope break out of it once Watanabe got to apply it correctly. Watanabe had to rely on her usual move set which turned out to be the right decision in the end. Her barrage of Laserbeam throws and Double Hammer strikes weakened Vixen enough for the Tear Drop to finish her off.

The two bowed and shook each other’s hands after the match. When Vixen left the ring, Rika Tatsumi entered it to challenger her Daydream partner for the Princess Title! Tatsumi always thought that the match would happen some day but only thinking about it would never make it happen. So she is asking Watanabe directly and didn’t even wait for her to answer. It is happening at “SUMMER SUN PRINCESS ’24” in Korakuen Hall on 20th July! Watanabe said she always wanted to defend the title against Tatsumi and she definitely won’t lose to her. She still remembers when Tatsumi won the International Princess Title from her last year. She closed out the show by asking the fans “Do you like Tokyo Joshi Pro?” The fans responded with “We love it!”

Speaking of the International Princess Title, Yuki Arai scored her latest defence of the belt by beating English wrestler LA Taylor. The newcomer to TJPW used her size advantage by doing a Fall Away Slam, Lariats and a Michinoku Driver. Her size also made it difficult for Arai to use the Full Nelson and Sharpshooter but she was eventually able to lock in the hold. She also used a Backslide Pin nearfall to hit Taylor with a short range Rookie Award. Taylor was dazed by the move so Arai hit the Finally next to win the match. Arai said she has held the IP Title for half a year now and while she wants to continue defending it, she is not satisfied with only holding one title. She wants to find out if she can win back the Princess Tag Team Titles again with somebody other than Saki Akai! She would be happy to find a new tag partner who can help her improve. Backstage Taylor said it was a dream come true to have the paper ribbons thrown for her during the match introductions.

Tatsumi led a senpai team to victory against the Class Of 2023 in an 8-Woman Tag Match. Wakana Uehara & HIMAWARI used their High Speed Combined Brainbuster on Tatsumi and Uehara followed up with the BANANA PILLOW submission hold. Tatsumi escaped and hit her with a Hip Attack while Yuki Aino got rid of Shino Suzuki with the Side Suplex. After that Shoko Nakajima & Mizuki hit dives onto everyone out of the ring and Tatsumi pinned Uehara with the Twist Of Fate. Toga said everyone in her team grows after every fight but their senpais are always growing at a rapid rate too so the gap never closes. She hopes they can catch up to them some day while also becoming a wall for the juniors below them.

Moka Miyamoto was given a big match against AEW wrestler Hikaru Shida. She dodged some of Shida’s attacks to hit her with the Zero Sen Kick and also use the Rashomon. Shida reached the ropes and rallied back, hitting Miyamoto with a big Elbow Smash and using the Falcon Arrow to get the three count. Shida said backstage it’s been two years since she was last in TJPW and back then she thought if Miyamoto showed a little more enthusiasm she could become a really good wrestler. She didn’t expect her to grow so much since then and is glad to discover how much of a threat she has turned into. Also next time she gets invited back to TJPW, Shida wants to show everyone a different side of her. Although Miyamoto lost the match she is happy to show her growth and wants to challenge for a championship in the future.

It was an intimidating sight when Aja Kong’s team all showed up in matching face paint. Meanwhile Maki Itoh’s team all entered the ring with matching twintail hairstyles (apparently Itoh forced them to do it). When Mahiro Kiryu got the upper hand against Kira Summer, Kiryu used her Apology Knee Drop to apologise for beating the Aja Kongs of the world so easily. The real Kong didn’t forgive her. Kong also hit Itoh with a steel can but Itoh’s iron head withstood the blow and she Headbutted Kong in return. Kong almost hit Yuki Kamifuku with the can by accident but pulled back at the last moment. Kaya Toribami tried to take advantage of the crossfire but Kamifuku took care of her and won the match with the Famouser. Backstage Itoh, Kiryu & Toribami all complained that they couldn’t tell which opponent was the real Aja Kong.

SAKI was confused to see Raku & Pom Harajuku lie down to sleep in front of her before their match began. She decided to join in but fell for RakuPom’s trap even though Nao Kakuta tried to stop her. Later SAKI used an Atomic Drop on Harajuku and then gave Raku an Atomic Drop. That set Kakuta up to pin Harajuku with the Shiden Kai. Kakuta said she was happy to team up with SAKI in Japan after their plan to do it at the TJPW USA show had to be cancelled. Harajuku complained the Atomic Drop hurts so bad she can’t sit down and feels like she’s been split in two!

In a match where both wrestlers were fighting for their first win, Chika Nanase defeated Uta Takami. She used a Modified Full Nelson called the Inari Dorii to win by submission. It was a move she used once before in an incomplete form but today she debuted the finished version. Nanase is happy to win but wants to aim higher. Takami thought she was going to shine brightly and win today but admits she became a complete mess instead. Losing has only fired her up even more though and she will cherish every day to work hard so she can win next time.

The show began with a non-title match where Daisy Monkey took on Runa Okubo & Haru Kazashiro. The result was no surprise with Arisu Endo taking out Okubo with a Diving Mt. Tsuruga and Suzume pinning Kazashiro with the Ring A Bell. They enjoyed being in the opening match again because it’s like being the first batter in a baseball game. They feel like they are in top form now and are confident they can defend the Princess Tag Titles against anyone.

It was announced that “WRESTLE PRINCESS V” will be held at Makuhari Messe International Exhibition Hall on 22nd September.

Nakajima will be getting a match at “SUMMER SUN PRINCESS ’24” that she has always wanted. She will have a singles bout against Aja Kong! Nakajima has experienced beatings from Kong before in places like Sumo Hall as well as beneath the cherry blossom trees of Shinjo Village. She believes this match will be meaningless if she cannot use this opportunity to beat Kong! Meanwhile Kong said she will be training alone in the mountains to prepare for the match. If she doesn’t she won’t be able to compete against Nakajima.

Today was the second time DDT got to run a show at the Shinjuku Takashimaya department store in Tokyo. MAO is sure DDT will do another show next year and the years after that for decades to come. The store’s manager would also like to continue these shows and turn the event into an annual tradition.

The mystery “dragon” entering the Battle Royal was Rika Tatsumi! She gave everyone Dragon Screws and then choked Sanshiro Takagi. She lost the match to Pokotan but got revenge afterwards by crushing its head with a Double Stomp. When Pokotan recovered it accepted the reward of being an ambassador for the store for the rest of the day. Pokotan immediately went over to the Louis Vuitton section looking to set up an official collaboration with the brand.

Saki Akai held an interview segment with Kazuki Hirata and Rika Tatsumi during the show. Akai joked that now she has retired from pro wrestling she has to look for other things to do for fun now instead of kicking people.

There might be more wrestlers being added to the Battle Royal. Tyson Maeguchi is trying to get added to the match. Shuichiro Katsumura photoshopped him into the graphic on Twitter but I can’t tell if it’s just a joke or not. He also did the same for Minoru Fujita but that one is definitely meant to be a joke… I think?

Ten years of Kazusada Higuchi has flown by. Feels like it was only yesterday when he was the unbeaten DNA rookie who was good enough to already get KO-D Openweight Title shots.

If Akiyama wanted to teach Kotoge something new he should have made him team with Danshoku Dieno & Yoshihiko.

The amateur pro wrestling group Nariagari returns for a dark match. Since Sanshiro Takagi is in the match it must have been another thing to tick off the checklist before his break from wrestling.

6. Aja Kong & Yuki Kamifuku defeated Rika Tatsumi & Moka Miyamoto when Kamifuku pinned Miyamoto with the Diving Famouser (13:57).

Today was the third annual Tokyo Joshi Pro homecoming show for Yuki Kamifuku in Fujisawa City. A portion of the proceeds from the event was donated to local scholarship funds and other education related charities. Even the mayor of Fujisawa City was at the show to congratulate Kamifuku. In the main event Kamifuku wrestled in a new costume and teamed with Aja Kong to beat Rika Tatsumi & Moka Miyamoto. The teamwork was not always smooth because Kamifuku accidentally hit Kong with a Big Boot that was aimed for Miyamoto, but Kamifuku kept her resolve and went on to win the match. She said she never thought she would be teaming with Kong in her hometown and is happy to see so many locals show up today. Kong said they were opponents at last year’s show and she is glad they teamed up and won today. It was worth the pain of getting accidentally kicked in the face! She is also tempted to challenge Kamifuku for one of her championships because the belts are purple and purple is her colour.

Miu Watanabe has developed a new submission move to win her match. It was created to be something that will beat Vert Vixen on 9th June. The move looks similar to the Kondo Clutch but her name for it is currently a secret. She says she came up with a very special and wonderful name for the move. Next time she uses it she will tell everyone what it is called.
