Danshoku Dieno’s team has been spending time together in preparation for their match against Sanshiro Takagi’s squad. The latest meeting had Dieno, Yoshitatsu & Yoshihiko go visit MMA fighter Hideo Tokoro’s gym to learn some new techniques. Yoshitatsu has been friends with Tokoro since childhood and Tokoro also got along with Dieno when he found out they are all 46 years old. Tokoro tried to teach them submission holds by using Yoshihiko as a training dummy. He then showed Dieno a way to apply multiple submissions at once by demonstrating a Cobra Twist and Muffler Hold combination. Dieno failed to apply the combination to Yoshitatsu and was scolded for not taking the training seriously.

Suddenly Takagi, Akito & Makoto Oishi barged into the gym. They heard from the media about this session going on and told Dieno that training with Tokoro for just a few minutes isn’t going to work. Dieno disagreed but Akito reminded him he is currently in a slump. Oishi said he will make sure Dieno won’t even make it to Sumo Hall and he suddenly attacked him. However all of a sudden Dieno outwrestled Oishi and successfully applied the submission combination he tried earlier while also reaching over to touch Oishi’s groin. This caused Oishi to submit while in great pain. Takagi, Akito & Oishi then fled from the scene. Dieno announced he is naming his new submission move the Danshoku Fantasy. Tokoro was surprised at how quickly Dieno learned the move. Dieno explained that people tend to get stronger when they are backed into a corner. He is in a slump and adversity was the key for him to break out of it.

Dieno then invited Tokoro to give pro wrestling a try. Tokoro declined, saying he would have to start off as a trainee. Dieno pointed out that DDT is unlike other wrestling companies. As long as you are willing to put your life on the line then you can step into the DDT ring. He told Tokoro the possibility will always be there if he is interested.

After months of preparation on Ganbare☆Joshi shows Banny Oikawa finally gets her wish to wrestle on a main GanPro show. She’s taking part in an intergender tag match too which is the style she came back to wrestling for. What a weird world we live in when we get a match that has both her and Dan The Dad involved.

Kodaka has the slight edge over FUMA after he pinned him with a Japanese Leg Roll Clutch yesterday. A flash pin from moves like that or the Samson Clutch is a danger that FUMA needs to watch out for.

The IRON FIST Tag Team are now shared between a BASARA wrestler and a DDT wrestler. Kazusada Higuchi for now has to bounce back and forth between the two promotions while representing the Harimao stable with Ryota Nakatsu. Their first title defence is against Speed Of Sounds and will be held on the same day as a DDT show. However Higuchi made sure that none of his D-Ou Grand Prix matches are taking place that day so he can concentrate on defending the belts without having to worry about his tournament run at the same time.

Two of BASARA’s younger wrestlers have each been given challenging opponents in an effort to make them step up and progress further. Lil’ Kraken grew up watching videos of The Great Sasuke and would love nothing more than to surpass the legend. Takato Nakano steps into the ring to fight Yuko Miyamoto. The match seems to be held under normal rules but if Miyamoto wants to make it hardcore, who is going to tell him no? Nakano would take on that challenge if he had to.

No matches announced yet for Abdullah Kobayashi and Hideyoshi Kamitani. They were already announced for the show along with Leo Isaka.

The IRON FIST TAG TOURNAMENT has been won by Ryota Nakatsu & Kazusada Higuchi! The team representing Harimao across both BASARA and DDT had the disadvantage of wrestling twice on today’s show. They first had to beat Yasu Urano & Antonio Honda in the semi final. Then in the main event Harimao took on the fresh team of Takumi Tsukamoto & SAGAT, who skipped past the semi-final stage because of a bye. Harimao fought through the challenge and have come out of it not just as the tournament winners but also as the new IRON FIST Tag Team Champions!

Their championship celebration was interrupted by Banana Senga marching down to the ring shouting “Objection!” over and over. He was about to turn the scene into a pro wrestling trial until his tag partner Tsutomu Oosugi showed up and challenged Harimao for the titles at Korakuen Hall on 3rd December. Nakatsu accepted but Higuchi told Speed Of Sounds there is a DDT show happening that same day as part of the D-Ou Grand Prix tour. However he already checked and he does not have a tournament match scheduled for that show so he can do the title match in BASARA. With that all sorted out Nakatsu & Higuchi went ahead and celebrated their victory with the other members of Harimao, Naomi Yoshimura and Yuki Ishida.

Even though Takato Nakano and Lil’ Kraken both lost the 3 Way Match by getting pinned at the same time, they were given good news to look forward to. Gouma Ryu approached them after the match telling them that BASARA wants the two of them to step up. So they are both getting special singles matches on 3rd December in Korakuen. Nakano is going to face Yuko Miyamoto and Kraken is getting a match against The Great Sasuke! Kraken is really happy with the news because he’s watched videos of Sasuke ever since he was a baby squid.

Match #2 begun with Senga acting like he was taking part in a Pro Wrestling Trial because Ryu was with him. Ryu tried to convince him it was a normal tag team match but Senga ignored him and tried to come up with topical jokes instead of wrestling. Ryu lost his temper and attacked everyone like a wild animal. This caused FUMA to come out armed with his hunting rifle and take aim at Ryu, thinking he had turned into a bear. FUMA shot Ryu, the lights went out and when they came back on the ring was empty. The match was ruled a No Contest.

It was revealed at the start of the show that today’s date is the 18th Anniversary of Gouma Ryu’s debut match.

1. Takato Nakano, Masato Kamino & Tsutomu Oosugi defeated Ryuichi Sekine, Minoru Fujita & KUBITO when Nakano pinned KUBITO with a Cradle (10:02).
2. Turnabout Pro Wrestling Trial: Yasu Urano defeated Gouma Ryu and Banana Senga when Urano pinned Ryu with a School Boy (0:10).
3. IRON FIST TAG TOURNAMENT – Round 2: Takumi Tsukamoto & SAGAT defeated Lil’ Kraken & Leo Isaka when SAGAT pinned Isaka with the Goregrind (12:50).
4. IRON FIST TAG TOURNAMENT – Round 2: Ryota Nakatsu & Kazusada Higuchi defeated Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi & Daichi Kazato when Higuchi pinned Kazato (14:58).
5. FUMA Vs Isami Kodaka ended in a Double Knockout (12:29).

The original main event featuring a Union MAX Title defence was cancelled because of Daiki Shimomura’s suspension. Instead FUMA took on Isami Kodaka in a non-title match that was put together on short notice. The match ended in a Double KO when both wrestlers hit their big attacks on each other and neither was able to get back up during the 10 Count. After the match FUMA said he was happy to fight Kodaka and since nobody won he wants to do a rematch at Korakuen Hall on 3rd December, this time with the MAX Title on the line. FUMA wants to become the ace of BASARA and he thinks he needs to beat Kodaka in BASARA’s biggest match to make that dream come true.

The IRON FIST TAG TOURNAMENT is now down to three teams. Takumi Tsukamoto & SAGAT have reached the final thanks to a bye. They will face the winners of Ryota Nakatsu & Kazusada Higuchi Vs Yasu Urano & Antonio Honda. Both matches take place on 7th November. It was confirmed that Shimomura & Minoru Fujita have vacated the IRON FIST Tag Team Titles and the belts will be awarded to the winners of the tournament.

Nakatsu & Higuchi were accompanied by the rest of Harimao for their match. Naomi Yoshimura & Yuki Ishida stood by their corner in support.

Gouma Ryu did not feel it was appropriate to have a pro wrestling trial on this show. Banana Senga objected because he did not want to be paid just to do nothing. Urano, who was supposed to be the defendant on trial told Ryu it was important to show the fans that BASARA was running their show as usual with everyone doing their best. They all agreed to do a 3 Way Match and Urano immediately pinned Ryu with a School Boy to win. Ryu promised to do a proper pro wrestling trial the next time.

At the start of the show Kodaka and the rest of the BASARA roster all apologized over the private incident that led to Shimomura’s year long suspension. Kodaka told reporters after the show that the event was saved by the fans and their support.

Trans-Am ★ Ryota was Ryota Nakatsu, Trans-Am ★ Takato was Takato Nakano and Trans-Am ★ Ika was Lil’ Kraken all impersonating different eras of the Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi gimmick along with Hiroshi himself.

Some of the wrestlers performed karaoke before the matches began. Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi, Antonio Honda, Takumi Tsukamoto and Lil’ Kraken all took part. Kraken actually did a diss track aimed at Rikiya Shindo instead of karaoke.

2. Takumi Tsukamoto defeated Ryuichi Sekine with the Zudon (11:02).
3. 3 Way Match: Ryota Nakatsu defeated SAGAT and Daiki Shimomura when Nakatsu pinned SAGAT with a Back Roll Clutch Hold (11:54).
4. Takato Nakano, Masato Kamino & Fuminori Abe defeated FUMA, KUBITO & Lil’ Kraken when Abe pinned Kraken with a Back Drop Hold (14:48).
5. IRON FIST TAG TOURNAMENT – Round 1: Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi & Daichi Kazato defeated Tsutomu Oosugi & Banana Senga when Kazato pinned Oosugi with the OPA! (16:41).

The first few IRON FIST TAG TOURNAMENT matches in the opening round saw Yasu Urano & Antonio Honda and also Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi & Daichi Kazato going through. Hiroshi & Kazato will face Ryota Nakatsu & Kazusada Higuchi in Round 2 on 24th October. The winners of that match will face Urano & Honda in the semi-final on 7th November.

3. Tsutomu Oosugi defeated Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi with an Inverted Hurricanrana (9:36).
4. IRON FIST TAG TOURNAMENT – Round 1: Daiki Shimomura & Minoru Fujita defeated FUMA & KUBITO when Shimomura pinned FUMA with the Asai DDT (16:20).
5. IRON FIST TAG TOURNAMENT – Round 1: Takumi Tsukamoto & SAGAT defeated Takato Nakano & Masato Kamino when SAGAT pinned Nakano with the Goregrind (13:49).

The remaining 1st Round matches had Takumi Tsukamoto & SAGAT as well as Daiki Shimomura & Minoru Fujita both advancing. Tsukamoto & SAGAT will meet Lil’ Kraken & Leo Isaka in Round 2 on 24th October. The winners of that match will face Shimomura & Fujita in the semi-final on 7th November.

Daiki Shimomura challenged FUMA for the Union MAX Title on 24th October.

IRON FIST TAG TOURNAMENT 2023

The IRON FIST TAG TOURNAMENT is back for the first time since 2020. It is also going to be the first time the reigning IRON FIST Tag Team Champions will be competing in the tournament. The 2020 tournament was held to determine the No. 1 Contenders and the 2019 edition was to crown the first champions. Every playoff match has a 30 minute time limit except for the final which has no time limit. If a match ends in a draw then both teams are eliminated. The teams taking part are:

4e. Ryota Nakatsu eliminated Daiki Shimomura by Ring Out (17:50).
4f. Ryota Nakatsu eliminated Ryuichi Sekine with the V Slider (21:11).
5. Union MAX Title: FUMA (c) defeated Eisa8 with the Cross Armbreaker (21:22).
*V1 for FUMA.

FUMA defended the Union MAX Title against the first of what he says is several people he owes a debt to. According to FUMA some of those people are in BASARA and others like Eisa8 are from outside the promotion. Eisa8 was somebody he had never beaten by himself until today.

Today was Sparky’s last match together as a unit. However none of the members are retiring and know they will continue being in the ring together one way or another.

2. Hardcore Tag Match: Takumi Tsukamoto & SAGAT defeated Isami Kodaka & Lil’ Kraken when Tsukamoto pinned Kraken with the Zudon onto the Chair and Cans (15:35).
3. Ryota Nakatsu defeated Hijo del Alebrije with a Back Roll Clutch Hold (10:50).
4. Ajikan International Police Vs Expendables Allied Forces: FUMA, KUBITO & Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi Vs Kaminold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Uranone & Jason Abeham ended in a No Contest because peace has come to the world (15:01).
5. Enter Kazato The Road To The Death Game Of Anger: Choun-Shiryu defeated Daichi Kazato with the Project A (23:22).

Today’s show was all put together by Asian Kung Fu Revolution. Each member of the unit all promised the fans will never know what is going to happen in the matches. For example, Daichi Kazato challenged Choun-Shiryu to a match because he cannot stand the fact there is a person who is more Asian and Kung Fu than Asian Kung Fu Revolution. The two agreed to fight under Game Of Death rules. It featured a large rubber band attached to one of the ropes as well as a balance ball, an iron pot and a ladle for the wrestlers to use a weapons. Kazato held onto the balance ball while he did the Mad Splash but missed and bounced across the ring. Shiryu then gave him the Chinese Gory Special Bomb onto the ball and won the match by hitting the Project A (similar to the Coffin Drop) for the pin. After the match Kazato revealed that when he was a high school student he was invited by Shiryu to train pro wrestling with him. He thinks what he learned that day has helped him survive the business ever since and he wouldn’t be here today if it wasn’t for Shiryu.

Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi claimed he spent a lot of money to bring over a bunch of Hollywood stars for Asian Kung Fu Revolution to fight against. Sylvester Uranone wanted to show off his Rocky skills so he had a boxing showdown with Hiroshi. Kaminold Schwarzenegger spent the match posing in his underwear until it was discovered that his urine test came back positive for a banned substance so he was taken out of the match. FUMA then shot both Uranone and Jason Abeham with his hunting rifle before accidentally shooting KUBITO. Next up, Fuminori Abe came out dressed like The Rock and was followed by SAGAT dressed like Dude Love. FUMA shot them both. Schwarzenegger returned, this time as a Terminator to stop FUMA. With all of this chaos going on, Hiroshi began to sing in the hopes that everyone would get along. They did, even the people who were shot. Since everybody was now holding hands and bringing peace to the world, the match was declared a no contest.

Today was the first time Ryota Nakatsu wrestled against a Mexican luchador so he wanted to try and copy Hijo del Alebrije’s style. He himself admits he wasn’t very good at it but he was able to adjust and pin Alebrije with a Back Roll Clutch. It is a wrestling style he would like to try again.

I still don’t get why Match #2 was called a 6-Man Tag when there were only four wrestlers involved.
