Two Independent World Jr. Heavyweight Title matches have been made for the rest of the summer. First up Keisuke Ishii defends against Hagane Shinno, a former champion who pinned him in yesterday’s main event. Shinno’s history with the title was brief but important. As Madoka, he fought Kota Ibushi for the title when it was revived back in 2007. He lost to Ibushi then but won the title from him a year later. Sadly, Madoka was beaten by Makoto Oishi in his first defence and he never won it back. He’s had two attempts since then. This will be his third.

Yuna Manase was offered to regularly wrestle in Ganbare☆Wrestling. She isn’t able to decide yet because she is still working for Tokyo Joshi Pro for another two weeks. But she at least wants to make another appearance. We may find out her future by the time this show takes place.

The 24th and 28th SWS Triple Crown Champions collide when Shinchiro Tominaga faces Shin Suzuki in a battle of Student Wrestling prodigies.

1. Ganpro World Tryout: Shin Suzuki defeated E10 with the Besitanic (8:53).
2. Ganpro Specialty Special 3 Way Match ~HARUKAZE’s Close Call~: Kuishinbo Kamen & Kuishinbo Kamen (Shota) defeated HARUKAZE by Disqualification when HARUKAZE unmasked both Kamens (7:59).
3. Ganpro & GanJo Special Mixed Tag Match: Shuichiro Katsumura & Moeka Haruhi defeated Shinichiro Tominaga & Asuka when Katsumura submitted Tominaga with a Cross Armbreaker (12:29).
4. Ganpro Vs TTT Full Battle: Ken Ohka defeated Guts Ishijima with the Fire Spear (7:41).
5. Ganpro Vs Pro Wrestling BASARA Full Battle: Kouki Iwasaki & Washi Sakurai defeated Ryuichi Sekine & Tetsuo Usui when Iwasaki submitted Usui with a Texas Cloverleaf (12:56).
6. Independent World Jr. Heavyweight Title: Keisuke Ishii (c) defeated Yumehito Imanari by TKO with the Double Arm Neck Lock (22:48).
*V5 for Keisuke Ishii.

A never say die attitude from Yumehito Imanari led to him having the match of his life. After a hard fight for over 20 minutes, Keisuke Ishii gave Imanari the Tiger Driver. Imanari didn’t respond so the referee began a 10 count. Imanari was able to get back to his feet on time but he couldn’t defend himself against Ishii’s next attacks. When the Double Arm Neck Lock was applied, Imanari was motionless and the match was called. Ishii has achieved the 5th defence of his current Independent World Jr. Heavyweight Title reign. He gave Imanari credit and called him a wonderful pro wrestler.

Kouki Iwasaki came out to challenge Ishii next. He said Ishii always wins and that has made Ganbare☆Wrestling really boring. They are usually a tag team but Iwasaki wants to win the title from Ishii and stand in the middle of the ring as a symbol of Ganpro’s strength! Ishii reached out for a handshake but found himself ducking a High Kick from Iwasaki! Iwasaki left the ring smiling.

Washi Sakurai and Ryuichi Sekine had to be pulled apart after Match #5. They kept trying to attack each other even after Iwasaki had submitted Tetsuo Usui.

The feud between Ganpro and what’s left of the Real GUTS Army can be put to rest. Ken Ohka defeated Guts Ishijima in a clean and decisive manner.

Shuichiro Katsumura & Moeka Haruhi are continuing to dress up in THE HALFEE costumes and perform a song for their entrance. Asuka hit a big Moonsault onto them out of the ring. But back in the ring Katsumura caught Shinichiro Tominaga in a Cross Armbreaker. Tominaga tried to fight out of it until Haruhi landed a Double Stomp on him. Katsumura then tightened the Armbreaker until Tominaga gave up.

Shota disguised himself as Kuishinbo Kamen by wearing a similar looking mask. However he also wore a grey tracksuit instead of a costume similar to Kamen’s. After a collision with the Daisuke Kiso, Shota unmasked the real Kamen and threw the mask to HARUKAZE. Shota acted like he was also unmasked, despite still wearing a mask. When Kiso got back up he saw HARUKAZE holding the mask and disqualified her, rewarding the match to both of her opponents. HARUKAZE sat down in a chair to protest the result but the two Kamens lifted the chair out of the room with her still sitting on it.

The visiting E10 was described as “Now on honeymoon” during his introduction. Unfortunately he lost his match to Shin Suzuki so let’s hope the wife wasn’t around to see that.

At the start of the show Asuka announced she will be regularly wrestling in Ganpro starting from today.

There is a flu going around this week and it hit the Big Japan roster pretty hard. A number of wrestlers had to pull out of shows this week either due to the flu or high fevers. Ryuji Ito, Isami Kodaka, Ryota Hama, Brahman Shu, Orca Uto and Yuki Ishikawa are all out of the New Year’s Eve show. This means five teams had to be changed with one team entirely getting replaced. Due to other commitments of the legal kind, Atsushi Onita is unable to wrestle on this show. However he already went and gotten his replacement. He found The Great Nita wandering around the Indian Ocean and heard Nita wanted to celebrate the new year in Japan. So Onita invited him to visit and take his place in the main event. This will be the first wrestling match for The Great Nita since August 2017.

Yukio Naya met with Onita and asked if he could be part of the next Bakuha Koshien show on 28th March. Onita will consider it if Naya renames himself Taiho III after his grandfather Taiho Koki.

In the D-Ou Grand Prix, the final block match between HARASHIMA and Masato Tanaka ended in a time limit draw. Out of this result Tanaka qualified for the final and ended up winning the tournament. But he will not consider DDT fully conquered until he can beat HARASHIMA. The KO-D Openweight Champion feels the same and is putting the title on the line for the chance to beat Tanaka.

Daisuke Kiso wanted the main event to definitively decided which team is better so he made it an Elimination Tag Match.

The 2 Count match was made to even the playing field between Moeka Haruhi and the less experienced Banny Oikawa.

Both HARUKAZE and Yuu will be wrestling in judo jackets because HARUKAZE wants the match to be entirely about grappling and groundwork.

The Count-Up Fall Match adds up the pinfall counts a wrestler makes. The first to reach their total count up to a predetermined number wins. Cherry’s opponent will be revealed on the day of the show. The mystery wrestler is hinted to be very beautiful and will also be a regular for Ganbare☆Wrestling in 2020.

Keisuke Ishii, Shigehiro Irie, Shota, Shuhei Washida and Shin Suzuki were all meant to be on the show but now they will not be there. Luckily a bunch of “joshi” replacements were quickly found.

7. D-Ou Grand Prix 2020 – A Block: Konosuke Takeshita (6) Vs Chris Brookes (5)

One round left in the group stage of the D-Ou Grand Prix and it’s all to play for. In the A Block each of the three matches have repercussions for the top spot. For the five still alive they need more than just a win to reach the final. Let’s look at what they need.

Yuki Iino: Needs at least a draw and for Takeshita & Ishii to both not win. If either do win, Iino will lose the tiebreaker against them. If both lose, Iino can qualify with a draw because he wins tiebreakers against Endo & Brookes.

Keisuke Ishii: Needs to win and he will qualify regardless of the other results. He will beat any tiebreakers against Iino & Takeshita. If he gets a draw then he will need Iino to not win and Takeshita Vs Brookes to end in a draw.

Konosuke Takeshita: Needs to win and have Ishii lose. There is no possible tiebreaker he can win.

Tetsuya Endo: Needs to win, have Iino lose and Takeshita Vs Brookes end in a draw. He is still alive if Brookes beats Takeshita because of the draw they had. In that situation Endo Vs Brookes in a playoff decides who wins the block.

Chris Brookes: Needs to win, have Iino lose and Endo Vs Ishii end in a draw. That way his win over Ishii is the tiebreaker. As mentioned above, Brookes and Endo both winning creates a playoff between them unless Iino gets a point.

The B Block is simpler to work out but still has a risk of getting messy. Masato Tanaka only needs a draw to qualify. HARASHIMA needs to beat Tanaka and hope Daisuke Sasaki does not beat Naomi Yoshimura. However if HARASHIMA and Sasaki both win, we get a three way tie with the tiebreakers all cancelling each other. The Soma Takao Vs Yukio Sakaguchi match does not matter in this situation.

Sakisama will be taking an absence from Tokyo Joshi Pro by the end of the year. Before she leaves she takes part in a lottery tag match. How will she handle teaming with either Yuna Manase, Pom Harajuku or Mahiro Kiryu?

Now that she is a superhero again, Hyper Misao is taking time off to train at her local hyperbolic time chamber. Her return match will be against Shoko Nakajima on 4th January. It is fitting for a superhero’s first fight back to be against the Big Kaiju!

Saki Akai makes her annual appearance for Tokyo Joshi. Akai’s opponent is Yuki Kamifuku, who looks up to her not just as a wrestler but as a professional. Kamifuku thinks Akai is a good example of a joshi who can be both feminine and strong in the ring. She asked for this match to see if she can reach Akai’s level with her own style and beauty.

This is not the completed card. Tetsuya Koda is waiting to see if any inactive members of the roster will be ready in time before he sets everything in stone. Could an injured wrestler be close to full recovery?

Atsushi Onita also wants to find a way to bring the show over to Tampa next year for Wrestlemania week. Ken Ohka is so enthusiastic with the project that he asked Onita to co-promote a Ganbare☆Wrestling show with him next January. Onita agreed and Ganbare☆Onita Oya☆Pro Wrestling (Gan☆Nita☆Pro Wrestling for short) was born.

Shinichiro Tominaga has gone down with the flu and cannot participate in the main event. Replacing him is Shin Suzuki, a friend of his who has a similar college club pro wrestling background.

A fight broke out between Ken Ohka and Takato Nakano at Wednesday’s press conference for Sumo Hall. When the participants for the UWA World 6-Man Tag Team Titles match got together, Urano bragged that Nakano could beat Ohka easily. Ohka took offence and challenged Nakano to a match. When it was accepted the two began fighting until Urano kicked Ohka with a Low Blow.

The four entries in the Bakuha Koshien tournament are now known. Asuka, Yukio Naya, FUMA and Yumehito Imanari have all thrown their names into the hat. Imanari remembers being a high school student when he first saw Atsushi Onita wrestle live. When he was about to take his exams he even contacted Onita for advice via e-mail and received a response. Imanari thanks both Onita and Takagi for making him a pro wrestler, one who will help build the new era of Current Blast death matches! Asuka has already done Hardcore and Death Match wrestling so she is looking forward to doing Current Blast matches. Naya says it has been half a year since he signed with DDT. He wants to break out of his shell and fight under his own will. FUMA was not around to give any comments.
