All three Beer Garden shows now have their full list of matches. HARASHIMA is inviting Shuichiro Katsumura & Keisuke Ishii from Ganbare☆Pro to test their mettle against him and Naomi Yoshimura.

The Texas Tornado Charinco Death Match means anything involving bicycles are legal! Sanshiro Takagi put the match together to celebrate a successful repair job on the Dramatic Dream bike after Kenoh broke it at “CYBERFIGHT FESTIVAL 2021”. His opponent SHINGO is a relatively new wrestler from HEAT-UP. However his main career is in pro cycling with over 100 race wins under his belt.

6. Drunk Match: HARASHIMA Vs Daisuke Sasaki
7. The Annual Tradition! Customer Lottery Match: Jun Akiyama, Yuki Ueno, Konosuke Takeshita, Tetsuya Endo, Kazusada Higuchi, Naomi Yoshimura

The luck of the fan lottery might make Akiyama and Takeshita team together in the middle of their rivalry.

I can’t remember if HARASHIMA is a happy drunk or not. He shouldn’t be following Sasaki’s habits, that’s for sure.

The biggest feud in wrestling that nobody ever talks about, and for good reason, is back for another year. The DDT GM Hisaya Imabayashi takes another swing at the Tokyo Joshi Pro GM Tetsuya Koda. Just don’t embarrass yourself again, Imabayashi.

DDT “SUMMER VACATION 2021”, 15/08/2021
Tokyo Korakuen Hall

1. Kininashi Wanaru ~The Universe In My Head~ Match: X Vs X
2. DDT Extreme Title & Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title: Shinya Aoki (c/c) Vs MAO
3. KO-D Tag Team Titles: Konosuke Takeshita & Shunma Katsumata (c) Vs Jun Akiyama & Makoto Oishi

Yesterday Makoto Oishi made Shunma Katsumata submit and then demanded a KO-D Tag Team Titles shot. He is the leader of Junretsu so Akiyama has to go along with another big title match against Takeshita just one week before he defends the KO-D Openweight Title against him.

Speaking of double titles, Shinya Aoki now holds the DDT Extreme Title and the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title. He has to defend both but he is busy falling for scams and losing his savings in the process. MAO was chosen to be his next opponent.

In news that makes zero difference to us non-Japanese speakers, the DDT Extreme Title has been renamed to… the DDT Extreme Title. In Japanese they are changing the name from DDT EXTREME級王座 to DDT EXTREME王座. So they’re just getting rid of 級 which means weight class or grade. I and everyone else always ignored that bit for the Extreme Title so nothing changes for us. While I’m at it I’m going to stop typing UNIVERSAL in upper case for the DDT Universal Title so I can keep things consistent.

DDT “WRESTLE PETER PAN 2021”, 21/08/2021
Fujitsu Stadium Kawasaki

0. Electric Current Explosion 8-Man Tag Death Match: Atsushi Onita, Sanshiro Takagi, Akito & Maki Itoh Vs Kuro-chan, Super Sasadango Machine, Tetsuhiro Kuroda & Hikari Noa
1. Double Ring Double Single Match: Toru Owashi Vs Antonio Honda
1. Double Ring Double Single Match: Danshoku Dieno Vs Kazuki Hirata
2. Special Hardcore Tag Match: Shunma Katsumata & MAO Vs Chris Brookes & Jun Kasai
3. DDT Universal Title: Yuki Ueno (c) Vs Daisuke Sasaki
4. KO-D Openweight Title: Jun Akiyama (c) Vs Konosuke Takeshita

Sasaki keeps getting quick wins over Ueno, all thanks to kicking him in the groin. Ueno wants to fight Sasaki in a clean match for once but he also realises this is just who Sasaki is. With that said, Ueno feels the need to defend the Universal Title no matter which version of Sasaki shows up. Sasaki accepts the match but warns that the humiliation he keeps putting him through is not good for Ueno’s career in the long run.

You are not reading the list wrong, there are currently two Match #1s. Since there will be two wrestling rings set up on site, DDT decided to put two singles matches that will both take place at the same time, one in each ring. There was not enough space on the card to do Toru Owashi Vs Antonio Honda and Danshoku Dieno Vs Kazuki Hirata one after the other so this was the compromise.

Two new debuts will take place on the show as part of a secret project DDT has been putting together. The DDT Teenage Project is a new class of young pro wrestlers that have been training in DDT’s dojo. The first two wrestlers to debut are El Unicorn (13) and Ilusion (18). There are two others currently in training and DDT are looking for more male students aged 15-18. DDT are still holding regular tryouts for new trainees over 18 alongside this project. This class is completely separate from DDT’s regular dojo training and the goal is to eventually launch a new sub-brand of wrestling shows for these wrestlers. El Unicorn stands out because his age is below the range allowed. There’s evidence out there suggesting who the kid will be under the mask. Not naming names but it’s obviously a certain kid DDT was already booking and training before the pandemic hit. Also Rekka on Twitter spoils it by pointing out the pun in El Unicorn’s name.

Tokyo Princess Cup 2021 Brackets

July 14, 2021

The Tokyo Princess Cup brackets are now complete. 22 of the 23 participants (Marika Kobashi was absent due to school work) picked their numbers out of a random lottery and were matched together before giving their comments for the upcoming tournament.

TOKYO JOSHI PRO “8TH TOKYO PRINCESS CUP”, 22/07/2021
Shin-Kiba 1st RING

1. Tokyo Princess Cup – Round 1A: Nao Kakuta Vs Miyu Yamashita
2. Tokyo Princess Cup – Round 1B: Pom Harajuku Vs Mirai Maiumi
3. Tokyo Princess Cup – Round 1C: Moka Miyamoto Vs Raku
4. Tokyo Princess Cup – Round 1D: Arisu Endo Vs Mahiro Kiryu

Miyu Yamashita welcomes the challenge that comes with Tokyo Joshi Pro growing larger. The Princess Cup has been her biggest Achilles Heel because she has never won it and often suffers her worst results there. Nao Kakuta suddenly finds herself fighting the Princess Of Princess Champion in Round 1. She understands she would lose this match 99% of the time so will aim to make this the 1% chance she will win. Pom Harajuku picked No. 4 and is treating it as her lucky number. This is her first match back since recovering from Covid. Mirai Maiumi has developed into the type of person she wanted to be but hasn’t been able to win anything yet. This summer she is determined to cause the Miramare Shock! Moka Miyamoto is looking forward to entering her first Princess Cup after not being included last year. Raku hasn’t won a singles match yet and sees Miyamoto is gaining momentum. She says she will do her best to beat her. Arisu Endo’s motivation is to face Suzume in the 2nd Round. Mahiro Kiryu stands in her way and won’t let her pass her by.

TOKYO JOSHI PRO “8TH TOKYO PRINCESS CUP”, 23/07/2021
Shin-Kiba 1st RING

1. Tokyo Princess Cup – Round 1E: Miu Watanabe Vs Kaya Toribami
2. Tokyo Princess Cup – Round 1F: Yuki Aino Vs Yuki Arai
3. Tokyo Princess Cup – Round 1G: Hikari Noa Vs Rika Tatsumi
4. Tokyo Princess Cup – Round 1H: Marika Kobashi Vs Nodoka Tenma

Last year Miu Watanabe finished in the final 8. This time she is aiming to improve on that and reach the semi finals. Kaya Toribami knows how strong she is in their previous tag matches together. Toribami doesn’t have much experience but she will give it her all to win. Yuki Aino is also going to use what she learned in the last year to make it past the quarter finals. Her opponent Yuki Arai is coming off her first win and is confirmed to be on all of the shows during the tournament, no matter how she fares in the Cup itself. Perhaps the biggest match in Round 1 is Hikari Noa Vs Rika Tatsumi. Hikari’s first singles match against a senior member of the roster was against Tatsumi back in 2018. This time she is fighting her as the International Princess Champion and the winner faces Hyper Misao in Round 2. Noa wants to advance and face Misao in a death match. Tatsumi appreciates seeing other wrestlers achieve their dreams but she doesn’t want it to happen at her expense. She has a first time singles match against Mizuki as her big dream to fight for. Nodoka Tenma has never lost to Kobashi in singles matches but she has only advanced past Round 1 once. That was the year Tenma reached the semi final though so she wants to walk down that road again.

TOKYO JOSHI PRO “8TH TOKYO PRINCESS CUP”, 24/07/2021
Shin-Kiba 1st RING

1. Tokyo Princess Cup – Round 2A: Winner Of Match 1A Vs Yuki Kamifuku
2. Tokyo Princess Cup – Round 2B: Winner Of Match 1B Vs Mizuki
3. Tokyo Princess Cup – Round 2E: Winner Of Match 1F Vs Haruna Neko

The winner of Yamashita Vs Kakuta faces Yuki Kamifuku in Round 2. Kamifuku admittingly doesn’t like wrestling in singles tournaments but you have to do what you have to do. If she wins the Princess Cup then she wants the sponsors Ameba to buy her a really big motorcycle. Mizuki has dominated the tournament by winning it the last two years. She’s hesitant if she can make it 3 in a row but will do her best because everyone is wishing her good luck. Haruna Neko is waiting for whichever Yuki comes up to fight her

TOKYO JOSHI PRO “8TH TOKYO PRINCESS CUP”, 25/07/2021
Shin-Kiba 1st RING

1. Tokyo Princess Cup – Round 2C: Winner Of Match 1C Vs Maki Itoh
2. Tokyo Princess Cup – Round 2D: Winner Of Match 1D Vs Suzume
3. Tokyo Princess Cup – Round 2F: Winner Of Match 1G Vs Hyper Misao
4. Tokyo Princess Cup – Round 2G: Winner Of Match 1H Vs Shoko Nakajima

Maki Itoh still remembers losing to Mizuki in the semi final last year. Her goal is to win the tournament this year and surpass Mizuki. Suzume recently fought for the Princess Tag Team Titles but isn’t taking her chances here for granted. Hyper Misao is holding the same motivations she had way back in her first Princess Cup in 2015. She was chosen as a replacement back then because at the time everyone thought her superhero character had a short shelf life. She wants to win and prove she doesn’t have a shelf life at all! She heard about Noa’s request for a death match but she expects to face Tatsumi instead. Misao lost to Tatsumi in her fake retirement match last year so it’s time to get that win back. Shoko Nakajima is the only other person next to Yamashita that will be a part of every Princess Cup so far. She has the most tournament experience in the field and thinks it is all coming together for her.

TOKYO JOSHI PRO “8TH TOKYO PRINCESS CUP”, 31/07/2021
Shinjuku FACE

1. Tokyo Princess Cup – Quarter Final: Winner Of Match 2A Vs Winner Of Match 2B
2. Tokyo Princess Cup – Quarter Final: Winner Of Match 2C Vs Winner Of Match 2D
3. Tokyo Princess Cup – Quarter Final: Winner Of Match 1E Vs Winner Of Match 2E
4. Tokyo Princess Cup – Quarter Final: Winner Of Match 2F Vs Winner Of Match 2G

The bracket structure ends at the quarter final stage.

TOKYO JOSHI PRO “8TH TOKYO PRINCESS CUP”, 14/08/2021
Tokyo Korakuen Hall

1. Tokyo Princess Cup – Semi Final: X Vs X
2. Tokyo Princess Cup – Semi Final: X Vs X

For the first time the final rounds will be held inside Korakuen Hall. Even better, each round gets a show to itself!

TOKYO JOSHI PRO “8TH TOKYO PRINCESS CUP FINAL”, 15/08/2021
Tokyo Korakuen Hall

1. Tokyo Princess Cup – Final: X Vs X

Ameba is providing a prize for the winner. There is “WRESTLE PRINCESS II” taking place in October so the obvious reward is a Princess Title match in the main event. There is not another TJPW Korakeun show on the schedule right now but things can change.

TOKYO JOSHI PRO “GO GIRL 2 ~WOMEN ONLY ENTERTAINMENT~” Results

July 11, 2021

TOKYO JOSHI PRO “GO GIRL 2 ~WOMEN ONLY ENTERTAINMENT~”, 11/07/2021
Tokyo Itabashi Green Hall
95 Fans

1. Mirai Maiumi & Suzume defeated Shoko Nakajima & Kaya Toribami when Suzume pinned Toribami with the Ring A Bell (11:37).
2. Nodoka Tenam & Raku defeated Hyper Misao & Haruna Neko when Raku pinned Neko with the Doctor Yellow (9:11).
3. Yuki Kamifuku & Nao Kakuta defeated Hikari Noa & Arisu Endo when Kakuta pinned Endo with the Shiden Kai (12:22).
4. Sakisama & Mei Saint-Michel defeated Marika Kobashi & Mahiro Kiryu when Saint-Michel pinned Kiryu after the Tarte Tatin (10:51).
5. Mizuki, Rika Tatsumi & Miu Watanabe defeated Shoko Nakajima, Maki Itoh & Moka Miyamoto when Mizuki pinned Miyamoto with the Cutie Special (18:57).

Today’s show was the second time Tokyo Joshi Pro performed in front of a women only audience. Mizuki admitted feeling a little shy wrestling in front of them because the atmosphere felt different. Rika Tatsumi credited the power of love for their team winning today, although Mizuki found it a little difficult to gel with Daydream. Some of the other wrestlers like Maki Itoh and Moka Miyamoto said the atmosphere felt warm and made them happy.

All of the wrestlers got to speak to introduce themselves and speak to the audience at the start of the show. Mei Saint-Michel expressed her concern that Sakisama was feeling homesick because she has not been in a good mood lately. After NEO Biishiki-gun won their match, Sakisama explained she isn’t homesick at all. In fact, she was only acting upset as a test to see how hard Saint-Michel would work for her. She cheered her up when she told her how much the fans were happy with her performance today. They then revealed their next TJPW appearance will be at the two Korakuen Hall shows on 14th & 15th August.

Shoko Nakajima worked in both the opener and main event to make up the numbers.

1. Haruna Neko & Kaya Toribami defeated Suzume & Arisu Endo when Neko pinned Suzume with the Nekocebreaker (10:14).
2. Nodoka Tenma defeated Mahiro Kiryu with the Killswitch (8:02).
3. Yuki Arai defeated Moka Miyamoto with the Finally (7:26).
4. International Princess Title: Hikari Noa (c) defeated Raku with the Blizzard Suplex (7:59).
*V2 for Hikari Noa.
5. Ameba Presents 8th Tokyo Princess Cup Pre-Battle Special 10-Woman Tag Match: Shoko Nakajima, Hyper Misao, Mizuki, Rika Tatsumi & Miu Watanabe defeated Maki Itoh, Yuki Kamifuku, Nao Kakuta, Marika Kobashi & Mirai Maiumi when Tatsumi pinned Kobashi with the Missile Hip (22:48).

Before the main event began, Hyper Misao told both teams to take part in a cavalry battle to see which side was stronger. Mizuki and Maki Itoh were both carried on their team’s shoulders and they charged into each other when the bell rang. Both sides collapsed. After the match Rika Tatsumi said Tokyo Joshi Pro will continue to move forward and she will not set her own limits. Shoko Nakajima gave a shout out to the absent Miyu Yamashita and the team copied the poses of her, Yuka Sakazaki, Yuki Aino and Pom Harajuku to close out the show.

For the first time in their 4 year history, there was an all Up Up Girls (Pro Wrestling) championship match. Hikari Noa defeated Raku to defend the International Princess Title but there was a close call that could have ended with a title change. Raku used the Hurricane Turn that pinned Noa last month but this time Noa kicked out of it. Raku tried the move again but Noa fought her off with two Super Kicks and pinned her with the Blizzard Suplex. Noa’s current goal is to make it to “WRESTLE PETER PAN 2021” as the champion. Raku still chooses the IP Title as the championship she wants to win first if she gets another chance.

Yuki Arai wins her first singles match, beating Moka Miyamoto! Even if it was a fluke, Arai is happy to see her training is paying off. She was asked after the match if she wants to enter the Tokyo Princess Cup. She said she definitely does.

Here’s the match order DDT is going with.

GANBARE☆PRO “GANBARE☆JOSHI PRO WRESTLING ~UTAGOE YO OKORE 2021~”, 20/07/2021
Saitama Wrestle Butokan

1. Special Single Match: Moeka Haruhi Vs Shota
2. Ganpro Mixed Tag Tournament Ranking Battle & LariPro Outpost Battle: Keisuke Ishii & HARUKAZE Vs Yumehito Imanari & Yuna Manase
3. Ganjo Special 3 Way Match: Yuna Manase Vs HARUKAZE Vs Moeka Haruhi

Ganbare☆Joshi is something Yuna Manase wants to push more of. The next show wasn’t supposed to be happening for a while. Manase convinced Ken Ohka to add an extra small show to the schedule this month to keep the brand active until then. There are only three matches but Manase, HARUKAZE and Moeka Haruhi will have a lot to do. They will be involved with non-wrestling activities inbetween the matches. Even Shota and Imanari will provide some similar entertainment with their SayamaSayama stand up routine.

DDT “WRESTLE PETER PAN 2021”, 21/08/2021
Fujitsu Stadium Kawasaki

0. Electric Current Explosion 8-Man Tag Death Match: Atsushi Onita, Sanshiro Takagi, Akito & Maki Itoh Vs Kuro-chan, Super Sasadango Machine, Tetsuhiro Kuroda & Hikari Noa
1. Special Hardcore Tag Match: Shunma Katsumata & MAO Vs Chris Brookes & Jun Kasai
2. KO-D Openweight Title: Jun Akiyama (c) Vs Konosuke Takeshita

Ever since Kuro-chan pinned Atsushi Onita in a Current Explosion Death Match last December, he has avoided all of Onita’s calls for a rematch. Sanshiro Takagi needed to find wrestlers for the “WRESTLE PETER PAN” pre-show explosion match and felt it is the perfect time and place for that rematch to happen. Kuro-chan himself doesn’t want to do it but his manager signed the agreement for him along with Super Sasadango Machine to do the match. Sasadango told Kuro-chan that Hikari Noa thinks he is cute and wants to team with him so he agreed to take part. The truth is Noa wants to fight in a deathmatch and will team with anybody to do so. She also threatened to blow up Takagi. Kuro-chan also gets Tetsuhiro Kuroda on his team. Onita’s partners will be Takagi, Akito & Maki Itoh. Everyone is also being warned that the amount of gunpowder being used for the explosions will be 3 to 5 times higher than usual.

Sunday’s show does not have any announced changes yet.

With a new state of emergency declared in Tokyo, Masahiro Takanashi decided to postpone his self produced show again for everyone’s safety. No new date has been set. He will still have his first match back from injury on 13th July but it will now be on a ChocoPro show in Ichigaya Chocolate Square, taped away from fans.

BASARA “BASARA 164 ~GLITTER~”, 27/07/2021
Shin-Kiba 1st RING

1. Union MAX Title: Takumi Tsukamoto (c) Vs Minoru Fujita

The savvy veteran Minoru Fujita reigned supreme in Heaven Summit ~Itadaki~. He has a big idea to spend his prize money on but he cannot say what it is yet. The only hint he gave is the idea will be even more special if he becomes the Union MAX Champion before then. Takumi Tsukamoto is still handling the heavy schedule that comes with being a double champion for two promotions. This title defence in BASARA is happening four days after his BJW Death Match Title defence against Drew Parker in Big Japan.

Pom And Others Pulled From This Weekend’s Shows, Goro Tsurumi’s Genes

July 7, 2021

Tokyo is entering a fresh state of emergency that will last until 22nd August so don’t get attached with the upcoming schedule. I suspect changes are coming. If they’re banning spectators from the Olympics then I can’t see fans allowed at wrestling shows either. That’s if wrestling shows can go ahead in Tokyo at all.

Tokyo Ryogoku KFC Hall

TOKYO JOSHI PRO “GO GIRL 2 ~WOMEN ONLY ENTERTAINMENT~”, 11/07/2021
Tokyo Itabashi Green Hall

News came out today that Pom Harajuku tested positive for Covid-19 and will miss this weekend’s shows. Miyu Yamashita and Yuki Aino were in recent close contact with her so they too are going to be absent while they self isolate. Last week Harajuku had a slight fever after receiving her first vaccine and when the fever did not disappear after a few days, she took a PCR test and it came back positive. She has since been feeling better but all three women will be under observation for a period of time until they are deemed ok to return. Both shows are currently having their match cards revised.

If nothing with the schedule changes then we’re going to see plenty of Jun Akiyama Vs Konosuke Takeshita tag matches in the next month.

Last time Yuki Ueno and Daisuke Sasaki were in Shinjuku FACE together, Sasaki beat him in under two minutes with a lot of cheating. Now is Ueno’s chance to get some revenge in the same building.
