The brief period of success for Toui Kojima has worn off and he is back to his losing ways. He won a match after fighting Shinya Aoki and thinks doing it again will bring him back to winning ways.

She needs to fight the toughest opponent and that right now is Shoko Nakajima. The two are still friends but Misao quickly launched the first shot, giving Nakajima a Stunner to warn her to keep her guard up at all times!

The Magical Sugar Rabbits are not taking Free WiFi seriously. They kept making connectivity jokes instead of accepting their opponents’ challenge.

Tokyo Joshi Pro has confirmed that Reika Saiki’s retirement ceremony will be held during the show.

The contract for the main event has been signed but Yumehito Imanari is looking out of his depth. Tatsuhito Takaiwa tricked him into lowering his guard so he could hit him with a Lariat during the signing. He previously beat Imanari to become the Spirit Of Ganbare Title but that was part of a tournament. Since both wrestlers will be fresh going into the match this time, Takaiwa wonders if the true champion is going to be determined.

Match #4 will not be happening. Shinjiro Otani suffered a scary injury at yesterday’s ZERO1 show in Sumo Hall when he took a German Suplex into the turnbuckles. He is still conscious but hasn’t been able to move his limbs since. There is no official diagnosis yet but Otani’s wrestling career might be over.

An old friend of Ken Ohka has come to offer him guidance. Muscle Sakai misses the days when Ganbare☆Pro was built around Ohka and wants him to headline Ganpro’s biggest show in Ota Ward Gymnasium this Summer. But Ohka is nowhere near ready for it so Sakai will wrestle him to bring that spark back and prepare him for his return to the main event.

Yuna Manase got a surprise visit from a friend too. Yuki Kamifuku is calling by Ganpro for a visit so she can catch up with her. However Kamifuku is now besties with Asuka while Manase has formed the Nippon Ganbare Union with YuuRI. If that’s not enough, one of YuuRI’s first matches in Ganpro was a disappointed effort against Asuka. This is her chance to make up for it by putting up a better fight.

Saki Akai & Yuki Arai got together during the week for a special training session. First they announced their tag team name. They are called Reiwa AA Cannon. The AA stands for two things. They have the same blood type (A) and they both won the same Award for Best Newcomer from Tokyo Sports. Or maybe it’s just both of their surnames beginning with A and somebody wanted to make a BI Cannon reference. Akai wanted to teach Arai the most important thing in pro wrestling… The ring entrance! It is what shows off the individuality of a pro wrestler the most and walking out there looking like a bore will make fans lose interest. Arai agrees because it was the entrances that caught her eye when she saw pro wrestling for the first time. Akai taught Arai to copy her entrance and in returned then tried to replicate Arai’s entrance.

10 years of Tetsuya Endo will be celebrated in the main event. Looking back on his debut I’m surprised Akito isn’t part of his match because Endo submitted to him back then. Keisuke Ishii and the wrestler now known as Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi were the other two people in that match but I can understand why DDT didn’t bring them over. How about this for trivia? Endo’s original tag partner for his debut was supposed to be another DDT rookie Takashi Dai. Unfortunately he suffered a career ending injury in his own debut match two weeks earlier so Ishii replaced him.

After this show Konosuke Takeshita will take part in an Youtube autograph signing and then that’s it for him in DDT for the time being. Don’t be surprised if he shows up somewhere in AEW next week because it sounds like the beginning of his excursion is imminent.

It’s unusual to see two KO-D championship matches placed so early on the card back to back. I don’t know what the schedules outside of DDT are like for the wrestlers involved so I can’t say for certain if it is because somebody is working somewhere else later that day. I don’t think it is for the partial live broadcast on Youtube either because it’s just the two dark matches that are being advertised for that.

A nice little reunion for The Iyasareru is happening here. Or maybe not given who their opponents are. I can’t tell if DDT switching the naming positions of Yuki Iino & Danshoku Dieno on upcoming cards is an intentional hint of something coming up on the horizon or just a sign that Iino has become the centerpiece of Pheromones. Iino has been the more successful of the two in-ring recently but Dieno still looks like he is calling the shots.

I bet he and Horiguchi would have turned face and heel on each other at least twice both ways.

The Princess Of Princess Title match is a fresh start for both wrestlers involved as well as for Tokyo Joshi Pro as a whole. Shoko Nakajima is kicking off her reign as the 10th champion and wants to give everyone everything she has. Yuki Aino is moving on from being primarily a tag team wrestler and turn into a leader like her seniors.

The new team on the block Arisuzu have been winning over people with their combined cuteness in the ring. Yuka Sakazaki wants to show them that being cute is not enough to become the champion. If Arisu Endo wins the Princess Tag Team Titles she wants to bring them to her hometown and proudly show them to her family. Suzume wants Arisuzu to win the belts and become a strong presence for TJPW. Mizuki wants to remind everyone that The Magical Sugar Rabbits are continuing to grow stronger. If MagiRabi successfully defend the Princess Tag Titles they have big plans for the rest of their title reign. Sakazaki would like to go beat up Mickey Mouse at Disneyland, Hello Kitty at Sanrio Puroland and then Pokotan if he is still around. Mizuki said something similar about defending the titles in theme parks but it sounds like mascots will be safe from her wrath.

Juria Nagano wants to hit Miyu Yamashita with all of her strength and have no regrets coming out of their match. Yamashita is happy to fight someone with a karate background similar to hers. Nagano thinks the difference between them is her own kicks were only ever used to score points in Karate while Yamashita has been kicking to hurt her opponents in pro wrestling for many years. She eventually wants her own kicks to become stronger than Yamashita’s. The Brazilian Kick would be her strike of choice in that situation.

He comes to DDT interested in fighting all of the wrestlers here from his generation.

Ever since Pheromones was formed, nobody was more of a victim from their antics than Hisaya Imabayashi. The DDT GM has been “publicly executed” by the unit over and over. Recently he began to fight back but the numbers game is just too much for him to handle. Luckily help is on the way for him to finally get his own back. AKIRA has come to the rescue, knowing Imabayashi from a storyline they did in MUSCLE many many years ago. That link will also draw Muscle Sakai away from retirement so the three of them can put Pheromones in their place once and for all.

Takeshita To AEW, Endo 10th Anniversary, Saiki Announces Retirement

It was revealed yesterday that Konosuke Takeshita is travelling to America to wrestle for AEW next month. He wrestled three matches for them in Jacksonville last year and it only motivated him to come back even bigger. His goal this time is to wrestle on TV shows like Dynamite and Rampage as well as to become a champion against the high level of competition AEW has. His stay will last a lot longer with no return date planned at the moment. He claims he won’t be using a return ticket, he only has an outbound flight in his itinerary. Although he promised he will find a way to come back to DDT for big matches every now and then. He said he is grateful to both DDT and AEW for giving him this opportunity. Takeshita is promoting this as Chapter 2 of his wrestling career.

Arisuzu aren’t shy about showing off their bond and think it is strong enough to dethrone The Magical Sugar Rabbits. The Princess Tag Team Champions are using their reign to show TJPW a whole new world filled with glitter and sparkles but they warn their challengers there is so much more to them than that.

It’s been a year and a half since Saki Akai was last in TJPW. She pops by again to team with Yuki Arai.

Can’t ask for a tougher second match for Juria Nagano. It’s Karate versus Karate when she has to take on Miyu Yamashita.

El Unicorn returns after missing the Sumo Hall show with covid. He and Ilusion still have their rivalry building up. It is fitting to see that mixed together with the Toui Kojima and Yuya Koroku feud.

With Takeshita taking a leave of absence to go wrestling in AEW soon, Yuki Ueno is looking to pick up the torch and be the man to carry DDT into the future instead of Endo. It will be the first defence of the new KO-D Openweight Title belt too.

MAO is also showing a desire to wrestle abroad again and he wants the DDT Universal Title to help him do it. He challenged anyone with an international presence to face him in a title match. Asuka accepted the challenge, pointing out a recent tour of Italy and an upcoming tour of the UK as suitable qualifications to get the title shot.

A new KO-D Openweight Title belt will be unveiled and presented to the new champion Tetsuya Endo at the show. He has not seen the new design yet and is looking forward to finding out for himself when it is given to him at the show.

Two days after the Sumo Hall show and MAO has figured out how Michael Nakazawa tricked him into giving him a DDT Universal Title shot. When Nakazawa flashed him the AEW logo on his shirt, MAO was fooled into thinking he would be fighting one of the big stars. Today at a press conference MAO showed regret at making the match and asked to make it non-title. Nakazawa explained he is part of The Elite and beating him will open up a path for MAO to wrestle against the other more stronger members. MAO lit up at the idea of fighting The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega so he signed the contract for the match. Nakazawa then gave MAO a Low Blow and admitted it is all a trick so he can get the title shot. He revealed he needs to win the championship so he can bring it back to America and keep his AEW career alive because he is currently in limbo while Omega is out injured.

The DDT Extreme Title match is now an O-Back Ladder Match. The O-Back is the kind of jock strap Yuki Iino always wears underneath his gear for his matches. He originally wanted the rule to be both he and Shunma Katsumata had to wear an O-Back while they wrestled. Katsumata refused and came up with the idea to make it a Ladder Match where whoever grabs the O-Back hanging above the ring and puts it on first will be the winner. However extra negotiations with Iino and Danshoku Dieno added another way to win. The match can also end if either wrestler decides to give up.

Masahiro Takanashi joked that he would rather defend the Asia Dream Tag Team Titles against them inside Ichigaya Chocolate Square instead because there would be no room for the both of them. I don’t know if Chris Brookes can squeeze either of them through the window though.

Endo said his first challenger should be somebody who is confident they can go above and beyond. He does not want to nominate a challenger himself. He would rather someone suitable come forward and make the challenge to him. It is a clear goal Endo has come up with for this title run to be different from Konosuke Takeshita’s reign. When he won the main event on Sunday, Endo said he never saw Jun Akiyama smiling so happily. BURNING has only just started so Endo wants the KO-D Title to help make the unit bigger and better.

The next Hiragana Muscle event is a series of five shows taking place across three days starting on 29th March. These shows are celebrating the 18th Anniversary of the original MUSCLE event from 2004. That’s not all. The K-I (Kai) Grand Prix will be brought back for the first time in 17 years with a total of 48 contestants taking part in a one day tournament. Since every Muscle show is a virtually identical performance per episode that means Muscle is running an entire 48-Man tournament five times in three days. But since this is Muscle that also means a lot of nonsense and shenanigans will be going on to derail everything. Nothing ever goes right when this promotion organizes a tournament. They still haven’t finished their New Year Tag Festival from 2009.

A dangerous request was put in HARUKAZE for Ganbare☆Pro’s return to Korakuen Hall. She demanded a Hardcore Match and threw the challenge out to both Shunma Katsumata and Akane Fujita! Those two already have tension between them over accusations of weapon plagiarism but they have to team together for this match. HARUKAZE found Mizuki Watase to be her partner and make the match an intergender tag.

There has been little follow up to the rumours of CyberFight wanting to sign Maya Yukihi to a contract. She has her story with Saki Akai in DDT going on until March so once that finishes up we may find out what she wants to do next. But before that, she will show up in Ganpro again for a tag match highlighting the Ganbare☆Joshi division.

Seeing Ken Ohka positioned this low on a major Ganpro card is weird. I welcome it because the rest of the group has stepped up over the last two years but it’s still weird.

DDT “MEGA MAX BUMP 2022 TOUR IN YOKOHAMA”, 01/05/2022

1. KO-D Openweight Title: Konosuke Takeshita (c) Vs X

The next KO-D Openweight Title defence will be held at DDT’s next big show after their 25th Anniversary celebration. Either Konosuke Takeshita or Tetsuya Endo will defend the title at the Yokohama Budokan against an opponent to be determined.

Also on the show will be the return of Hikaru Sato to DDT for the first time since 2019. Sato was a DDT mainstay from 2008 to 2014 and even held the KO-D Title one time. He makes some one-off appearances here and there but those times were for spin-off shows or special occasions.
