We’re around the halfway point of the D-Oh Grand Prix. It’s too early to predict how the A Block is going to go. The B Block is a different manner. If Yukio Naya beats KANON then only MAO can potentially compete with him for the spot in the final. Rei Saito can also catch up on points but Naya already has the tiebreaker advantage over him. It’s a must win for KANON to remain in the race. Chris Brookes is teetering on the edge while Kazuki Hirata is the first wrestler who is already mathematically out of the tournament.

Before the year ends Tokyo Joshi Pro has a surprise gift for everybody. They recently recorded a Street Wrestling match held inside the Hakkeijima Sea Paradise aquarium in Yokohama. Twelve TJPW wrestlers were split into two teams for the competition and the winners received “luxery prizes”. The participants were Yuka Sakazaki, Mizuki, Rika Tatsumi, Shoko Nakajima, Hyper Misao, Nao Kakuta, Miu Watanabe, Raku, Suzume, Arisu Endo, Yuki Arai and HIMAWARI. The video is being shown on Wrestle Universe as a PPV.

A new challenge is coming to Ganbare☆Joshi. This year saw the launch of a new women’s wrestling group called Evolution. Three women debuted as pro wrestlers with Suwama from All Japan helping oversee the project. One of the three recently retired due to injury but the other two have kept at it and will soon visit GanJo. Chi Chi gets the bigger challenge by being put in the main event against YuuRI. The other match has the eye-catching ZONES taking on Riara.

Yuu returns to GanJo for the first time since 2020.

Munetatsu Nakamura is a fan of Yuko Miyamoto so GanPro is getting them together for a match.

Both YuuRI & Riara have been developing a sister-like relationship with Sumire Natsu in GanJo throughout this year. Let’s see how the three can work together as a “family” against HARUKAZE, Makoto & Banny Oikawa.

Over the weekend SCHADENFREUDE International made it known they want to fight for the dormant KO-D 10-Man Tag Team Titles. They even have Mecha Mummy with them to be the fifth member of their team. The titles still belong to The 37KAMIINA & Shinya Aoki despite not being defended since June 2022. The match is booked for 5th January but DDT found out Aoki is currently unavailable because he is busy training for an MMA fight against Sage Northcutt. Luckily the championship has a rule where the champion team can temporarily replace up to two members and still be eligible to defend the titles. For this match Aoki is being replaced by Yoshihiko! For statistical purposes, should the champions win it counts as a successful defence for Aoki not Yoshihiko.

1. Legendary Cabaret Club Lady Vs Queen Of 666: Ram Kaichow defeated Riara with the Onryo Clutch (7:37).
2. Marika Kobashi defeated Banny Oikawa with the Front Neck Lock (10:04).
3. Ami Manase & Alex Lee defeated Sumire Natsu & Echika Miyabi when Manase pinned Miyabi with a Diving Senton (12:36).
4. Saki Akai GanJo Last Match: Saki Akai & Takumi Iroha defeated YuuRI & Yoshiko Hasegawa when Akai submitted YuuRI with the Triangle Choke (23:00).

With only two weeks to go until Saki Akai’s retirement, this week she begun a busy schedule of final appearances across wrestling. Today she was in the main event of Ganbare☆Joshi along with Takumi Iroha taking on the home team of YuuRI & Yoshiko Hasegawa. The GanJo side attacked Akai from the get go and brought her up to the entrance to make sure all the attention was on them. They even got Riara and Yuna Manase to get involved with their own attacks while Akai was held back. Iroha tagged in to let Akai catch her breath. YuuRI & Hasegawa did their best as a team together but were soon overtaken by their opponents. Akai & Iroha hit YuuRI with a Sandwich PK. Akai then made YuuRI submit to the Triangle Choke while Iroha held Hasegawa in a Rear Naked Choke.

After the match Akai told the fans she got a last minute call from GanJo to do this match and she was honored to fight against everyone here today, including Riara. She described GanJo as being very sparkly and flashy on the outside but muddy on the inside. That is her favorite kind of pro wrestling. Hasegawa said the difference between the teams was too much but she hopes she & YuuRI can close this gap and become wrestlers that Iroha would want to fight again. YuuRI then gave Akai a rose as a gift to represent her beautiful passion. She told Akai to continue shining as a beautiful rose after her wrestling career ends.

Until today Yuna Manase’s “sister” Ami Manase hadn’t been seen around these parts since August. She returned to GanJo today to team with Alex Lee. The team were victorious against Sumire Natsu & Echika Miyabi. Natsu used her whips for an advantage while Miyabi focused on power moves. Lee took both of them out at the same time with a Double Flying Clotheslines. Manase then took over and pinned Miyabi with a Diving Senton.

Later this month Banny Oikawa finally achieves her goal of getting booked on a main Ganbare☆Pro show but before that she had to face Marika Kobashi here. She focused on using kicking moves but Kobashi got the better of her by using the Front Neck Lock for the win.

Riara already tasted defeat earlier in the show when she lost to Ram Kaichow. She got a nearfall with a Facecrusher but Kaichow pulled out the Onryo Clutch to get the win in the end.

GANBARE☆JOSHI “GANJO SUPER ARABIAN ’23” Results

1. GanJo Three Major Singles Match: Tomoka Inaba defeated Riara with the Leg Killer Hold (10:43).
2. Nanami & Miran defeated Alex Lee & Banny Oikawa when Nanami pinned Oikawa with the Northern Lights Suplex (9:11).
3. GanJo Three Major Singles Match: Suzume defeated Yoshiko Hasegawa with the Ring A Bell (11:00).
4. GanJo Three Major Singles Match: Sumire Natsu defeated YuuRI with the Yoran (16:13).

The three women currently representing Ganbare☆Joshi were each given a challenging singles match on today’s show. In the main event YuuRI couldn’t get past Sumire Natsu’s unsportsmanlike wrestling style. Natsu spat water in YuuRI’s face, threw her into a row of chairs and attacked her with her rose whip. Daisuke Kiso got caught in the crossfire for that last one. YuuRI tried fighting back but was cut off with a Shining Wizard and Double Arm DDT before Natsu won with the Yoran.

Yoshiko Hasegawa suffered a defeat to Suzume after her attempts to ground the high flyer just wouldn’t work. With Arisu Endo watching on from her corner, Suzume overcame Hasegawa’s attacks to her legs to catch her with a Flying Facecrusher and then get use the Ring A Bell for the three count. Hasegawa was left to stare at Daisy Monkey in defeat.

The third match sadly ended in another loss for GanJo, giving the group a clean sweep of losses against the outsiders. Riara brought the fight to Tomoka Inaba outside the ring but was thrown down the entrance stage steps for her troubles. Back in the ring Riara focused on using the Ankle Lock but Inaba used her own submissions to fight back and win by tapout.

The 0-3 result left YuuRI in distress after the main event. The new generation that was supposed to protect GanJo failed to do so. Yuna Manase entered the ring and told YuuRI that she just has to win next time. It’s okay to cry but she shouldn’t be looking down on herself. You can always lose today and win tomorrow.

Manase then called Banny Oikawa down to the ring and asked her why does she want to join Ganbare☆Pro? Oikawa said she wants to have a match with the person who made her want to join pro wrestling but that person is a man. Since GanPro does intergender matches she believes joining the group will help make her dream come true. Manase called it a wonderful dream and told Oikawa she does not need to rely on Miyako Matsumoto to get booked here. GanPro has a show on 23rd November and Michiyoshi Mishima has already agreed to book Oikawa on the show. Oikawa is excited by the news and promised to have a new costume ready in time for that show.

How will Riara’s cabaret skills work against Ram Kaichow? Ram has probably been in the room for more seedy stuff throughout her entire wrestling career than Riara did as a hostess!

It’s been confirmed that after this past weekend’s successful defence, Eruption will relinquish the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles on 12th November, the day Akai has her retirement match. Until then Eruption will still be recognized as champions but they have no more title defences scheduled nor are they required to take any more. The AJPW TV 6-Man Tag Team Titles are a separate matter and they are defending those belts in All Japan this weekend.

DDT’s plan for the championship after this is to hold a 1 day tournament a few days later to crown new champions. Teams and other tournament details are currently being decided on.

Two of Diana’s young wrestlers Nanami & Miran will be wrestling in GanJo for the first time. They take on the returning Alex Lexx & Banny Oikawa.

It was an eventful show for Ganbare☆Pro today when they were in Shinjuku FACE for the first time in over two years. It was also the first day of Yumehito Imanari being a freelance pro wrestler. He is no longer a CyberFight employee but will remain as a regular wrestler with GanPro. To mark this fresh start of “Season 2”, Imanari wanted to win the Spirit Of Ganbare Title from Isami Kodaka. But despite his best efforts, Kodaka ended up pinning him with a Jumbo no Katchigatame style Sliding Lariat.

Kodaka thanked Imanari for the match but was quickly met with Shota in the ring. He thinks he is next in line to challenge Kodaka for the SOG Title and suggested the match can take place on 23rd November. Kodaka accepted the challenge because BASARA and GanPro are both running shows at Takashimadaira Kumin Center that same day. He promised to beat Shota with a Headlock and not to lose until Ken Ohka can catch up to him. Shota brought up the time he headlined a Korakuen Hall show at the beginning of 2021. He remembers saying backstage that the next time he is in a Korakuen main event it will be when he is the top champion of a promotion. He can make this dream come true if he wins the SOG Title from Kodaka because GanPro is running a Korakuen show at the end of December! Shota promised it will be him submitting Kodaka with the Headlock, not the other way around.

There can be no denying now that Ground Absolute are the rightful Spirit Of Ganbare Tag Team Champions. They defeated Hentai Punch Drunkers, denying Hikaru Sato & Tyson Maeguchi the chance of ever holding the physical title belts that did not exist when they were the first tag champs. Instead Sato & Maeguchi had to carry around the trophies they won in the tournament to crown the first champions. To add insult to injury, Shuichiro Katsumura & Takuya Wada took the trophies for themselves after they won the match! Katsumura & Wada were then challenged by Munetatsu Nakamura. The rookie wants to become a champion and he is going to make Keisuke Ishii his tag partner for the title shot. Everyone agreed to it but Kasumura took offence to Nakamura calling him old. Ground Absolute also said they want more teams to line up and challenge them because their goal is to get 100 title defences.

High stakes were on the line in the grudge match between Ohka & Shota against DoiKuma. The invadors convinced the GanPro side to do a Hair Vs Hair match where the loser who took the fall had to get his hair cut off. During the week the teams agreed to have No Tag Rules applied but right before the match began Koji Doi demanded a No DQ rule be applied as well. That was accepted and much of the match became a brawl around the room. Unfortunately for Ohka, he fell to Kuma Arashi’s Diving Senton and had to take the punishment. Ohka grabbed the clippers from Arashi and decided to start cutting his hair by himself. Arashi then continued it by using an electric shaver to cut out a big bald spot on Ohka’s head. He joked that when Ohka is completely shaven bald, Ohka should become his new disciple. Ohka said this is not the end. No matter how painful or said this is, he made it this far and will get back up from this. He asked the fans to keep supporting him so he can get his revenge on Arashi! Later in the day Ohka had the rest of his head completely shaven.

Last time around YuuRI did not impress Yuki Kamifuku that much when they teamed together. This time around YuuRI left a much better impression with her tag partner. Together they defeated Suzume & Yoshiko Hasegawa with YuuRI getting the pinfall on Hasegawa. On the other team, Suzume gave her approval to Hasegawa and said she thinks of her as a part of Tokyo Joshi Pro.

Nakamura came up with a new cradling pin move and successfully used it to win his match. The move is currently called the Mune-chan Clutch and it looks like a grounded rolling version of the One-Winged Angel.

Takeshi Masada has begun a campaign to get himself into this year’s D-Ou Grand Prix. He asked DDT to put him in a few singles matches to prove he is worthy of taking part in the tournament. First up is KANON, a wrestler who had a poor time in last year’s D-Ou GP. That was KANON’s first time in the tournament and he only scored 2 points.

Yuki Kamifuku & YuuRI defeated Suzume & Yoshiko Hasegawa the first time round, will they do it again? It is also a second chance for YuuRI to impress Kamifuku, who she looks up to so much.

Kaho Kobayashi and SAKI are popping up here too for some extra GanJo related matches.

Masada’s next singles match on his road to the D-Ou GP is against last year’s finalist, Yukio Naya. That’s quite a big leap for Masada to fight one of the weakest performers from last year and then one of the strongest.

If you ask Akiyama that means the belts are now under DDT’s control instead of All Japan. But not if Yoshitatsu has anything to say about it. He is getting a chance to win back the titles and he chose Takao Omori to be his tag partner this time instead on Onita. Since Akiyama wants to defend the title in serious matches instead of death matches, the bout will be contested under PWF rules, which is pretty much the same as standard rules but with a 10 count outside the ring and the title can change hands on a DQ.

The NWA Women’s TV Title normally has a 6:05 time limit because as the name suggests, it was made with a TV show format in mind. Tatsumi was also a key part of Misao’s history that connects with Akai but I’m too tired to try and write around kayfabe right now.

On the hunt to win a championship again, YuuRI set her sights on Haruka Umesaki who currently holds the WWWD Single Title in her home promotion called Diana. A non-title match was put together here in Ganbare☆Joshi, giving YuuRI the home field advantage. However Umesaki won the match clean and decisively. She said she always wanted to wrestle YuuRI and was glad it happened. YuuRI told her she isn’t giving up her quest to win the WWWD Title from her and some day she will surpass her! According to Umesaki, she will go consult with Diana to put together a title match if everybody wants it to happen.

A reunion for Miyuki Takase & Yoshiko Hasegawa brought the two together for a tag match against the Inaba Sisters from JTO. The visitors won the match, leaving Hasegawa feeling dejected. She wasn’t able to win even when she had Takase’s help. Takase encouraged her to keep working hard and together they will get Hasegawa her first direct win. Both Tomoka Inaba & Azusa Inaba believe they were able to show momentum for their first appearance as a team in GanJo.

The last time the ICEx∞ Title was in GanJo it was YuuRI’s championship. It now belongs to Ibuki Hoshi and she brought it with her for the Ice Ribbon offer match against Arisa Shinose.

The Hostess Tag Team has now reached a crossroads. They lost to Miyako Matsumoto & Kaho Kobayashi in a match where everybody was accusing each other of getting plastic surgery. Sumire Natsu & Riara have teamed up three times now and haven’t won once. Natsu thinks Riara needs to change her focus to what’s in front of her instead of worrying about getting their tag team over with the fans. She’s going to help her any way that she can so they will some day drink celebretory champagne together for winning a match.

Echika Miyabi’s match with Alex Lee was put together to celebrate Miyabi’s one year anniversary of her debut match. Miyabi’s first pro wrestling bout took place on 14th September last year.

The GanJo GM Yuna Manase gave everyone an update on her injury recovery. She’s at the point now where she can walk around in heels again.

A meeting was held between Minoru Suzuki and Sanshiro Takagi a few days ago to determine what can and cannot be allowed during their Falls Count Anywhere Match inside a moving bullet train. They were given a set of rules by the railway company telling them they cannot damage the train, cause any delays, disrupt the crew, use any weapons that could break apart into fragments, leave the inside of the train dirty, hit the floor and seating with considerable force, touch the ceiling at all or cause harm to other passengers. Suzuki brought up his previous calculations that he can punch Takagi at 400km/h in the train. He wanted to know if Takagi explodes into bits of meat flying everywhere would that count as making the train car dirty? Takagi answered that if he dodges that punch and Suzuki hits a piece of equipment instead then Takagi wins by DQ.

The railway line also handed out a list of wrestling moves they can permit on the train. They include Lock Ups, grounded submission holds, Chops, Kicks, Body Slams, Brainbusters and Piledrivers. Suzuki pointed out the list is pretty much his usual moveset so he accepts the terms. Takagi however was upset he is now allowed use his own moves like Power Bombs, Lariats and Dropkicks. Suzuki agreed that Takagi can use the Axe Bomber as long as he shouts “Axe Bomber!” beforehand. Last but not least, the two also discussed adding in lunch breaks and toilet breaks if the match goes on too long.
