A press conference was held for Riho, Shoko Nakajima, Suzume and Arisu Endo to talk about their match. The Twin Cam Monsters are looking forward to teaming together again and to do so in a big venue. Suzume faced against that team in her debut match back in 2019. She has gotten a lot of experience since then but understands it is nothing compared to the experience levels Riho & Nakajima are at. Suzume was also the opponent for Endo’s debut match so she thinks they have the chemistry to make a good team. Nakajima doesn’t expect to lose but predicts Suzume & Endo can overtake the Twin Cam Monsters in the future. Riho also said she is looking forward to the main event because she hasn’t seen Maki Itoh since they wrestled each other in AEW.

What is next for Daisuke Sasaki? His unit is gone, he declined to enter the D-Ou Grand Prix and he has a DDT Universal Title defence coming up. Apparently he has something up his sleeve. It might just be more drink and depression though.
After an emotional weekend, Konosuke Takeshita wants to see a bright future while he holds both the KO-D Openweight Title and KO-D Tag Team Titles. His motivations for defending the KO-D Title on his own is different from defending the KO-D Tag Titles with Shunma Katsumata. He wants to pursue many different possibilities while being a double champion.
Yumiko Hotta pinned Shinya Aoki with the help of a steel chain during yesterday’s pre-show match. She challenged him for the DDT Extreme Title afterwards. Aoki wanted the match to take place at a RIZIN show because they both fought there in the past. They have to settle for DDT instead.
Hotta’s disciple Riko Kawahata approached Sanshiro Takagi asking to wrestle on a DDT show. Hotta was displeased to see her student go out of line this way but Takagi decided to give her a chance. After watching footage of Kawahata in action, Takagi thinks she has great potential so he is booking her to fight Saki Akai. Hotta had a change of heart after Takagi explained that Kawahata’s behavior is very All Japan Women’s like. She understands his point and is now supporting Kawahata’s decision to enter DDT. Takagi is hoping for the match to be successful in order to promote more joshi matches in DDT.
DDT has decided to rename the Under Match to the Dark Match. They originally started calling the pre-show bouts the Dark Match but at some point switched to Under Match for reasons nobody can remember. So they’re going back to calling it the Dark Match.

The youngster project now called DDTeeeen!! holds its first show with all four students taking part. El Unicorn and Ilusion are quickly establishing a rivalry together but the other two wrestlers are also familiar with each other. Vent Vert Jack and You-sei☆Estrella are both 16 years old and are from the MY WAY promotion in Kyushu. Jack is 16cm tall, weighs 61kg and once held the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title at 9 years old. Estrella is 173cm tall, weighs 66kg and is a month younger than Jack. They both had their debut match against each other in 2012.

The opening day matches of the D-Ou Grand Prix 2021 II have been announced. Takeshita meets Yuji Okabayashi for the first time since he won the KO-D Tag Titles from him. Since he is entering the tournament as the champion, Takeshita wants to fight every match as if it is a title match. That means he cannot stand to lose even one match.
I’ll have a proper D-Ou Grand Prix post written up when the full schedule is revealed.
The ultimate fate of DDT is possibly on the line if Pheromones win the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles. Their lewd antics could get DDT into so much trouble it could spell the end of the company if they are not stopped! It’s up to Sanshiro Takagi, Yusuke Okada and a third person to save the day. If they lose then Takagi cannot order Pheromones to stop their bad behavior.

These wrestlers are all no strangers to each other but it is still a first time tag team match up.

The Ganbare☆Climax tournament returns for the first time in three years. The single elimination tournament will consist of three shows in October and November. The last tournament winner was Yumehito Imanari in 2018.
Shinjiro Otani fractured his left forearm during Sunday’s match against Kouki Iwasaki. The injury requires surgery and he will not be at any of Ganbare☆Pro’s upcoming shows in September and October.

The smell of victory was not coming from Pheromones today. Far from it. Konosuke Takeshita & Shunma Katsumata were ready to defend against their shenanigans and isolated Danshoku Dieno. After a brief absence from the ring, Yuki Iino returned with “Taboo” music playing over the speakers and he stripped off his wrestling gear. Dieno made Takeshita & Katsumata Lip Lock each other and Iino climbed the ropes to set up the Badonkadonk. However, Katsumata used a Casadora to drop Dieno onto the canvas and then Buzzsaw Kicked him, positioning Dieno beneath Iino. Iino didn’t know who was below him so he Badonkadonked his own partner! The 37KAMIINA got rid of Iino with Sandwich kicks and pinned Dieno with the MADMAX.
The result is a second successful KO-D Tag Team Titles defence for The 37KAMIINA. Also since Katsumata pinned Dieno it means Katsumata is the new Iron Man Heavymetalweight Champion so he is now a double crown champion just like Takeshita! Their next challengers came out when HARASHIMA & Naomi Yoshimura entered the ring. HARASHIMA wants to take the Tag Titles back after Katsumata pinned him for it back in June. He was champions with Yuji Okabayashi then but this time he wants both titles to be with DISASTER BOX so Yoshimura will team with him. The challenge was accepted and will take place in Korakuen Hall on 12th October. Backstage Dieno warned that this is not the end of Pheromones because they will reveal the third member soon.
It was revealed that Yuto Aijima will be retiring from pro wrestling later this year and he asked DDT to host his final match in his hometown of Omuta, Fukuoka. Aijima’s been wrestling for over 25 years and now that he is in his mid-50’s it is time to hang up his boots. He had discussed these plans with Sanshiro Takagi for two years because of the Covid-19 restrictions prevented the show from taking place anywhere. But now they have a venue and when the date is cleared it can finally go ahead.
The rules of the DDT Extreme Title match forced Shinya Aoki to wrestle like Kazuki Hirata. So he literally became Hirata and wrestled in an identical costume. Hisaya Imabayashi and Toru Owashi were the judges and it was up to them to determine if Aoki was only using moves that Hirata could do. On the bright side this gave Hirata a fighting chance. On the negative side the judges spent the entire match insulting Hirata on the microphone while they described his abilities, or lack there of. Aoki put Hirata in a Sleeper Hold but was told to stop because Hirata would rather dance in this situation. Aoki put on the glasses and dance while Hirata put him in a School Boy for a nearfall. Aoki had to use the Miracle One Shot Cradle but Hirata kicked out of it. Hirata then used his authentic version of the move but Aoki used the momentum to roll back on top and sneak away with the win. Hirata praised Aoki for how accurate the imitation is and will challenge him again when Aoki spreads the image of Kazuki Hirata across the world!
Saki Akai got the win over Yuna Manase and told her how she felt afterwards. Manase is too loud and proud which annoys Akai. But they’re both from the same generation and their careers began around the same time. It is up to the likes of them to create new wrestling fans. If the passion of Ganbare☆Joshi works for Manase then she should continue down that path. Akai accepts it might not be the wrong way after all and if Manase ever becomes stronger, they will have a rematch. They had a pinkie swear to mark that promise.
Three of DDT’s most bizarre gimmicks were put together in a trio and the results were as weird as expected. Takagi noticed that Mecha Mummy was shorter than the last time it appeared. Yoshihiko didn’t do anything until it was provoked. Pokotan’s movement was familiar enough for Antonio Honda to think it was Mizuki Watase in disguise. Mummy was rendered useless thanks to cold spray and Yoshihiko was thrown out of ringside. But when Honda demanded Pokotan to give up, Pokotan shouted for help and Yoshihiko returned this time with a noticeably bigger “shadow” behind it. Yoshihiko cleared the ring and gave Honda the Exploder Suplex. The shadow then unmasked to reveal Jun Akiyama! He threw Yoshihiko on top of Honda for the pin to end the match. Akiyama had to join in with the team’s post-match interview backstage and had to ask if any of them could talk. Akiyama had to answer questions on their behalf until he got fed up and went home.
After intermission Takagi announced a new addition to the DDT Teenage Project. It is Vent Vert Jack from the MY WAY promotion in Kyushu. Jack is 16 years old but has been wrestling with his father Vent Vert Negro for almost a decade. He has been in DDT before and is even a former Iron Man Champion. He isn’t the only one joining the brand though. Jack said his MY WAY classmate and rival Yousei☆Estrella will also be joining the project. Backstage Takagi joked about knowing several child wrestlers across Japan and name dropped Mr. #6 from Nagoya.

7. DDT Extreme Title – All Men Are Equal! Kazuki Hirata Death Match: Shinya Aoki (c) Vs Kazuki Hirata
Normally it is the DDT Extreme Champion who chooses the match stipulation for title defences. However Shinya Aoki allowed Kazuki Hirata to pick the match gimmick this time. They agreed to an “All Men Are Equal!” match. Hirata explained that Aoki’s fighting power is 530,000 while his own power is just 20 (he promises to level up to 25 in time for the match). To make it a fair fight Aoki has to fight at Hirata’s level and only use moves that Hirata would do. For example, Aoki is not allowed to use a Cobra Clutch because Hirata never used that move himself. The match will be stopped if Aoki doesn’t fight like Hirata. Two referees, Hisaya Imabayashi and another person will be at ringside to judge what Aoki can and cannot do. This also means Aoki must learn to dance like Hirata because that is inevitable.
Shunma Katsumata is getting annoyed by the behavior of Pheromones. His button was pushed even more when he signed the contract for the match and noticed a funny smell coming from the pen. He found out the pen was in Yuki Iino’s mouth and covered in his drool. Konosuke Takeshita isn’t bothered by the mind games because as the champion of DDT he is prepared for everything his opponents will throw at him. Katsumata doesn’t have that patience and tried to attack Pheromones. Danshoku Dieno stopped him in his tracks with the Lip Lock.
Yuna Manase is as fired up as she’s ever been to promote her match against Saki Akai. It makes her angry that Akai hasn’t been putting in the same amount of effort and will make it all the sweeter if she beats her. Akai is surprised to see Manase act like this. She always assumed she was the older sister type. Instead Akai thinks she is trying to hide how smaller and weaker she actually is.

Seven members of DAMNATION gather together for the unit’s final match. Shuji Ishikawa unfortunately will not get his wish to sing karaoke with DAMNATION at the Tokyo Dome. However Hiroshi Yamato is missing from the lineup too but I don’t know what his schedule is.
DDT wants to put more effort into the early matches of their shows to make up for the shorter run times enforced by the pandemic. Putting together the undercard under these conditions is a problem Sanshiro Takagi is trying to figure out. The restrictions prevent DDT from filling venues with fans so DDT have decided to stream the first three matches (the two pre-show matches and Match #1) live on their Youtube channel for those who cannot attend shows.
Normally the early matches are for the young wrestlers but Takagi wants to get creative. So he’s putting Yumiko Hotta and Shinya Aoki on opposite teams. Both of them fought in RIZIN and Takagi wants to see how they would fare against each other for that reason. This is also surprising because Hotta was publicly upset over Natsumi Maki leaving Actwres girl’Z for Tokyo Joshi Pro at the end of 2018. If she held any grudge with DDT over that then it looks like it is all water under the bridge now.

The name of the show isn’t just there to sound cool. The Dramatic Survivor Unit tournament was revealed to be a reverse bracket where the losing teams advance to the final. Win a match and your team is safe, lose all your matches and your unit must split up! Sanshiro Takagi came up with the idea to avoid DDT getting stale. He wants all the teams to fight for survival and there is no bigger motivation than the survival of your unit! To make things even more riskier, if a champion team is in the disbanding unit they will be forced to vacate their titles too! So if The 37KAMIINA lose and splits up they vacate the KO-D Tag Team Titles. If DAMNATION lose and splits up they vacate the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles. For Junretsu and DISASTER BOX there will be no championships stripped.

Back at the Beer Garden shows Danshoku Dieno and Yuki Iino appealed to form a tag team. Their request wasn’t met because they couldn’t come up with a suitable or tasteful team name. Well today they have their team name and also nicknames to match. From now on Danshoku “Dandy” Dieno & Yuki “Sexy” Iino are Pheromones! They immediately challenged Konosuke Takeshita & Shunma Katsumata for the KO-D Tag Titles and got their shot so they would stop annoying the champions.
If the KO-D Tag Titles happen to be vacated because The 37KAMIINA lose the Dramatic Survivor tournament, then the match will be changed into a decision bout to determine the new champions. So at least Takeshita & Katsumata have a chance to reclaim the belts after they are forced to give them up.

The new KO-D Openweight Champion Takeshita took some time to reflect on his latest accomplishment. After finally beating Jun Akiyama, the KO-D Title belt now has a different weight to it and Takeshita feels a different responsibility when it comes to defending it. He is in his best condition because of this pressure and is ready to take on Chris Brookes. He hasn’t beaten Brookes since July 2019 when he defended the KO-D Title against him back then. Brookes has won every singles match they’ve had together since then, which were either championship or tournament matches.
Masahiro Takanashi has become active again since coming back from injury. Not in the ring though because ChocoPro doesn’t have one. He wrestles his first match in DDT since March 2020.

1. DDT Universal Title: Daisuke Sasaki (c) Vs X
After stealing the belt multiple times over the last month, Daisuke Sasaki in now officially the DDT Universal Champion. His first title defence will be on 12th October and he has the right to choose his challenger. He chose CM Punk but DDT cannot make that happen for multiple reasons. Sasaki then picked Minoru Fujita as his back-up choice. Fujita beat Sasaki at July’s DAMNATION produced show so Sasaki wants to avenge that loss. The match is not official yet but DDT will send the challenge over to Fujita.

It’s one week until “WRESTLE PETER PAN 2021” but there was still some business for DDT to tend too. For the main event the ring canvas was removed to show a brand new blue rimmed canvas underneath. The 37KAMIINA and Junretsu were the first to wrestle on it with the KO-D Tag Team Titles on the line. Jun Akiyama dealt with Konosuke Takeshita and created a 2-on-1 situation for his side. Akiyama threw Shunma Katsumata with an Exploder Suplex and Yusuke Okada hit a Diving Headbutt for a nearfall. Takeshita made it back in to break the count and even the odds. He blocked Okada’s Tornado DDT and lifted him up for a Braibuster. Then Katsumata jumped in to hit the MADMAX but Akiyama broke the pin. Takeshita held Akiyama back while Katsumata finished Okada off with the Firebird Splash.
After the match Takeshita pointed at the KO-D Openweight Title resting on Akiyama’s shoulder. They bumped fists to so there is no bad blood heading into their title match and Junretsu left. Katsumata then celebrated his team making their first title defence. Takeshita thanked him for his hard work winning them the match today and giving them momentum heading into “WRESTLE PETER PAN”.
The Hardcore Judo match for the DDT Extreme Title turned out to be a Best 2 Out Of 3 Falls contest. In the 1st fall Shinya Aoki and MAO had to have a regular judo match inside the ring. They both grappled and threw each other to the ground. At first Daisuke Kiso gave the point to Aoki but after consulting with judges outside the ring it was decided that MAO scored the Ippon instead. The 2nd fall was a Hardcore Match so both participants took off their judo jackets and brought out the weapons. After a violent back and forth, Aoki caught MAO in the European Clutch to get the three count. The final fall was Hardcore Judo rules, a Judo fight with weapons! They fought up the turnbuckles and Aoki threw MAO through a table below to score Ippon and win the match!
After the match Kazuki Hirata entered the ring in his full entrance costume. Aoki immediately threw a chair at him. Hirata calmed him down and respectfully challenged him for the Extreme Title. He explained it is great to win exciting matches against opponents you don’t know if you can beat. However it is also great to defend against opponents you can easily beat, like him! In a normal match Aoki Vs Hirata is heavily one-sided but Aoki can create a rule that can allow even the weakest wrestler to win! Aoki answered no. Hirata then threatened to quit DDT and without him there won’t be anybody backstage to do all the dirty work that keeps the show running. Aoki laughed and accepted the challenge. Hisaya Imabayashi decided the match will take place in Nishitetsu Hall on 12th September.
Daisuke Sasaki came back from quarantine with the stolen DDT Universal Title and quickly made a beeline for Yuki Ueno. As the match went on, Sasaki struck Ueno in the head with the belt and busted him open. While Sasaki continued beating up Ueno at ringside, Akito rolled up Mad Paulie to win the match. But that wasn’t the focus as Sasaki threw Ueno into the ring post and continued to beat him bloody. Sasaki even ambushed Ueno again backstage during the post-match interview. His message is loud and clear. Daisuke Sasaki is back!
Eruption faced DAMNATION is another warm up bout for the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles match. Soma Takao threw his belt down in front of Yukio Sakaguchi to annoy him. Yuji Hino blocked the God’s Right Knee but was bashed by Kazusada Higuchi. Higuchi was then wiped out by Tetsuya Endo’s Sasuke Special No. 1. Yuya Koroku tagged in to take the glory but Takao ended up beating him with the Gin And Tonic. Takao threw his title belt again, provoking Sakaguchi into fighting him. Meanwhile Higuchi and Endo butted heads. Saki Akai then entered the ring where Hino stood before here. Hino teased throwing a chop but relaxed and told Akai to go home. Akai slapped him across the face in response. The situation calmed down after that and both sides separated.
The Kininashi Wanaru match had a specific goal to achieve. The hosts of the TV show created their own characters for Yuki Iino & Yukio Naya to play. They also made 100 T-shirts for the gimmicks and wanted to sell all of them. In fact, the hosts were more concerned with selling the shirts than watching the match. Drago was Naya wearing a Riki Choshu mask while Haka was Iino wearing a Sanshiro Takagi mask. That one caught the real Takagi by surprise. They wrestled under the masks at first but they eventually got removed. Shiro Koshinaka did his thing while reminding everyone he is 62 years old. Takagi had Haka beat but Danshoku Dieno suddenly appeared and pulled Yukinori Matsui out of the ring mid pinfall. Takagi gave Dieno the Stunner and placed him over the turnbuckles with his backside hanging out. Unfortunately Takagi himself was sent face first into Dieno’s butt and then Iino pinned him with the Spear.
Hirata’s appearance earlier in the show quickly ended when he submitted to Chris Brookes. Everyone agreed to an immediate rematch and Brookes instantly put Hirata in the Octopus Stretch again. This time Toru Owashi broke the hold. Naomi Yoshimura cleaned house until Hirata pleaded to be tagged back in. Antonio Honda brought the match to a halt with Gongitsune that was also charged by Dieno’s backside. Keigo Nakamura also got charged up when he was thrown head first into Dieno. His charged head gave everyone electric shocks but Hirata guided him to collide with Honda and then rolled him up for the three count. Hirata promised to win his part of the Double Ring Double Single Match and be crowned the king of the 2nd match on the card!
After a long absence due to injury, Mizuki Watase returned to the ring for his first wrestling match in six months. His opponent was his Junretsu teammate Hideki Okatani. The match showed just how much Okatani has progressed while Watase was gone. Watase still put up a fight but he was done when Okatani countered the Back Drop into a Bulldog Headlock. Okatani then got the pin with the Double Arm Suplex. The two shook hands after the match. Watase was disappointed to lose against a younger and less experienced wrestler. But he also understands while he was gone for six months, Okatani was training with Akiyama during that same time period. Watase has to start again from scratch but at least he too will have Akiyama guiding him.
DDT is now sponsored by Japan Bakery Marketing and they get a prime advertising spot on the neutral corner pads. The company producer Takuya Kishimoto appeared with Takagi to pose with some bread. The deal came together when Takagi met with Kishimoto at a recent Rojo Pro Wrestling event that DDT put together. Kishimoto said he became hooked with wrestling and feels the same happiness he gets from eating bread.
Kenta Kobashi will appear at “WRESTLE PETER PAN” to observe the KO-D Title match between Akiyama and Takeshita.

Yuki Arai’s first match in Nagoya is a big enough deal to main event the show because Nagoya is the home of SKE48. She will team with her mentor Miyu Yamashita against Yuki Aino & Moka Miyamoto. Another SKE48 member Shiori Aoki will be on commentary for the match.
Maki Itoh suffered a fractured left cheekbone in her Tokyo Princess Cup Quarter Final match. It will take two to four weeks for it to heal but she will definitely wrestle on 14th August. She will miss this Saturday’s show though.

The semi final draw was held and the matchups are confirmed. Itoh is confident she will be fully healed in time to face Mizuki in the main event. Overcoming the pain is what makes Itoh stronger and this is the opponents she wants more than anyone else. Mizuki is aiming for the three-peat and has never lost to Itoh before. Winning this match will give her the confidence she needs to win the final 24 hours later. Miu Watanabe is now four years into her pro wrestling career and has fallen in love with it. She also revealed the idol she looks up to most is Mayu Watanabe from AKB48. Her opponent Shoko Nakajima reaches the final four once again but she isn’t taking it for granted. Tokyo Joshi Pro has grown so much over the years that it motivates her to be the best again.
Yuka Sakazaki has her first match back in Japan since coming home from the latest AEW tour.
A few other return appearances brings the Rika Tatsumi Vs NEO Biishiki-gun feud back to life. Yukio Saint Laurent and Antonio Honda get involved again. The only difference is instead of a zombie we get Pom Harajuku.

In a press conference today the participants of both title matches got to speak. The KO-D Tag Team Titles match will be Yusuke Okada’s first championship shot in DDT since he signed with the company. Jun Akiyama is looking forward to teaming with his student and trusts him enough to let him do his stuff. Shunma Katsumata is determined not to lose the titles in his first defence. He also wants to pin Akiyama again like he did at the Ultimate Tag League. His partner Konosuke Takeshita said he will focus on Akiyama because he can rely on Katsumata to win the match if it comes down to him. The match serves as a clash of different wrestling styles and philosophies. Takeshita says there is no correct answer for pro wrestling that applies to everybody. Akiyama disagrees because he thinks the Giant Baba style that he learned has all of the right answers. Baba’s way is the correct way and the proof is in Akiyama being the current KO-D Openweight Champion.
The Olympic atmosphere in Japan has inspired Shinya Aoki to defend the DDT Extreme Title against MAO in a Hardcore Judo match. Aoki and MAO aren’t sure themselves what the rules are in a Hardcore Judo match but they are excited to do it.

It is a match Yuna Manase originally wanted at “CYBERFIGHT FESTIVAL 2021” but it never came to be. She wants a singles match against Saki Akai so much she crashed a DDT show to demand it. Akai doesn’t have any strong feelings about her opponent. She remembers the year she debuted people online were hoping the two of them would team together but other than that they are from completely different parts of the wrestling scene. Akai recently wrestled in Ganpro and felt everyone there has passion but it went away very quickly. If Manase’s fire is red then Akai’s fire is blue and that is much more hotter.

There are last minute changes to the card after SAGAT tested positive for Covid-19. SAGAT had been feeling unwell with a low fever during the week and went to get tested. Isami Kodaka and Takumi Tsukamoto were both in close contact with him during the period and will also miss tomorrow’s show. All three of them will be absent for two weeks so they can self isolate.
The Union MAX Title match has been postponed and Minoru Fujita will face Gouma in a singles match instead. The IRON FIST Tag Titles match has been moved up to the main event with Akiyori Takizawa substituting for SAGAT.

The KO-D Tag Team Titles match is back on! Makoto Oishi is out long term so Yusuke Okada has finally joined Junretsu to make it up to him. Okada and Jun Akiyama challenge Konosuke Takeshita & Shunma Katsumata for the belts.
The Double Title match is now just for one championship after Shinya Aoki lost the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title at a charity football game DDT was at. Danshoku Dieno is now the current champion. Aoki still has the DDT Extreme Title so that is up for grabs against MAO.

2. Tetsuya Endo defeated Kazuki Hirata with a Lariat (0:44).
2a. 2 & 4 Equality Death Match: Tetsuya Endo defeated Kazuki Hirata with a Cross Armbreaker (5:51).
3. Sanshiro Takagi, Yuki Iino & Yukio Naya defeated HARASHIMA, Naomi Yoshimura & Antonio Honda when Iino pinned Honda with the Haka Elbow (11:30).
4. Daisuke Sasaki & Soma Takao defeated Yuki Ueno & Keigo Nakamura when Takao pinned Nakamura with the Diving Foot Stomp (10:36).
5. Izumi Specialty Special Single Match: Chris Brookes defeated Akito with the Praying Mantis Bomb (13:18).
6. Eruption Vs DAMNATION!: Kazusada Higuchi & Yukio Sakaguchi defeated Yuji Hino & Mad Paulie when Higuchi pinned Paulie with the Brain Claw Slam (13:04).
7. PIONEER NEXT Presents Special 6-Man Tag Match: Jun Akiyama, Yusuke Okada & Hideki Okatani defeated Konosuke Takeshita, Shunma Katsumata & MAO when Okada pinned Katsumata with the Sudden Death (20:56).
It was an eventful return home for Jun Akiyama. First of all, believe it or not this was the first time Akiyama had a homecoming match in Izumi City. Ever! Before the main event Junretsu were presented with bouquets from his alma mater’s wrestling club and also from the president of the match sponsor PIONEER NEXT. That president also happens to be Hiroyuki Akiyama, Jun’s younger brother. Akiyama’s team came out on top against THE 37KAMIINA despite Konosuke Takeshita claiming his shoulder is in great shape again. Hideki Okatani took out MAO with the Running Neckbreaker. Akiyama & Yusuke Okada gave Shunma Katsumata a Back Drop/Diving Neckbreaker double team move. Akiyama followed up with the Exploder Suplex and tagged in Okada. Katsumata still had fight left in him and wouldn’t be pinned. Okada declined tagging Akiyama back in and was eventually able to win by himself with the Sudden Death.
After the match Okada explained to Akiyama that he taught him never to read the room while wrestling, which is why he never tagged him back in. Akiyama corrected Okada and said you’re supposed to read the room! He never told him to do the opposite! Okada’s excuse is he misheard him. He then asked Akiyama about something serious. Makoto Oishi, the leader of Junretsu, has been forced to take a long break due to injury. Okada is not a member of Junretsu despite always hanging around Akiyama and the rest of the unit. It was Oishi who first welcomed him to DDT and if he is no longer around, then Okada wants to protect Junretsu for him. So today Yusuke Okada is asking to join Junretsu! Not only that but he also wants to team with Akiyama to challenge for the KO-D Tag Team Titles on 15th August! Akiyama asked for the audience’s opinion and agreed when they gave a positive response.
Eruption got one over DAMNATION in a preview of the next KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles match. Yuji Hino posed with his title belt to provoke Kazusada Higuchi & Yukio Sakaguchi. He did so again even after Higuchi pinned Mad Paulie to end the match in Eruption’s favour. Backstage Hino blamed the loss on the sake his drank before the match.
For a brief moment, Yuki Ueno had the DDT Universal Title belt given back to him by staff after his match. Unfortunately Daisuke Sasaki gave him a Low Blow and stole the belt again. Even Sasaki admitted that he is a shameless belt thief.
Kazuki Hirata instantly went for the kill against Tetsuya Endo but a Lariat ended his hopes pretty quickly. He asked for a rematch but with special rules to even the odds. In the rematch, Hirata only has to pin Endo for a 2 Count to win but Endo needs to pin Hirata for a 4 Count. Endo agreed and made Hirata submit to a Cross Armbreaker after the restart.
Yukinori Matsui announced he will be producing a show in Abeno Ward Center, Osaka on 17th October.
