7. Road To Wrestle Peter Pan! Special 3 Way Match: Tetsuya Endo Vs Konosuke Takeshita Vs Chris Brookes

After their last KO-D Tag Team Titles defence, Daisuke Sasaki said that he and Soma Takao would pick who their next challengers will be. They went quiet for a few days until Sasaki emerged with an Amidakuji/Ghost Leg puzzle that decided DAMNATION’s next three challengers. Unfortunately the process was heavily flawed because the three teams picked were all impossible to book for one reason or another. Hisaya Imabayashi disregarded Sasaki’s choices and nominated proper teams instead. On this show Sasaki’s choice of challengers was himself and Yoshiaki Yatsu. Imayashi pointed out that Sasaki is already the champion so Yuki Ueno & Naomi Yoshimura are getting the shot. Oddly enough Imabayashi didn’t sound negative on the idea of Sasaki having to wrestle himself.

Danshoku Dieno is trying to become immune to all martial arts in order to defeat the MMA master Shinya Aoki. His plan to do this is pit himself in a gauntlet of matches against pro wrestlers with martial art and combat sport backgrounds. Now I know what some of you are thinking. Why is he fighting a swimmer? Because Aoki proved last year that he is just as dangerous in the water than he is in the ring. The inclusion of Kabaddi is Dieno thinking outside of the box too.

9. KO-D Tag Team Titles – Souken Holdings Presents: Daisuke Sasaki & Soma Tako (c) Vs HARASHIMA & Yasu Urano
10. KO-D Openweight Title: Tetsuya Endo (c) Vs Konosuke Takeshita

Takagi ordered Imabayashi not to book him on the show unless he is in the main event. The only way that can happen is if he cashes in his Right To Challenge Gauntlet during or after that match.

Sasaki’s Amidakuji puzzle selected Joey Ryan & Candice LeRae as the KO-D Tag Title challengers for “WRESTLE PETER PAN”. That’s impossible because LeRae is signed to NXT and it is also too late to endorse her for a visa. Sasaki offered to sign her up for a tourist visa but shut down into depression when Imabayashi said she already registered her details with Johnny Gargano. HARASHIMA & Yasu Urano are the challengers instead, creating an unwanted Smile Squash reunion with Soma Takao.

If Ueno & Yoshimura win the KO-D Tag Titles on 30th June, then they will defend the belts against HARASHIMA & Urano. Sasaki & Takao will then be demoted down to teaming with Nobuhiro Shimatani in the opening match.

DDT “SUMMER VACATION 2019”, 21/07/2019
Tokyo Korakuen Hall

1. Kota Umeda Great Match: Kota Umeda Vs X
2. KO-D Tag Team Titles: Daisuke Sasaki & Soma Takao (c) Vs Joey Ryan & Hiroshi Yamato
3. KO-D Openweight Title: Tetsuya Endo (c) Vs Chris Brookes

The last Amidakuji team was supposed to be the newly married celebrity couple Ryota Yamasato & Yu Aoi. Instead we’re getting Joey Ryan & Hiroshi Yamato. It is possible that this title match will be cancelled if Sasaki & Takao lose the championship before the show. What is most likely to happen is the new tag champs will defend the belts in their place but DDT has not ruled out getting rid of the match altogether.

One last thing, DAMNATION have a four year plan in place for his personal goals. In 2019 they want to defend the KO-D Tag Team Titles, in 2020 they want to win gold at the Olympics, in 2021 Sasaki wants to visit the moon and in 2022 Sasaki wants to get married to a divorced Candice LeRae in May of that year.

5. Masahiro Takanashi defeated Sammy Guevara by Countout (9:12).
6. Humanity Is A Game Blooming In The Big Ring Of Naniwa! Osaka Specialty Special Single Match: HARASHIMA defeated Jason Kincaid with the Somato (11:41).
7. DAMNATION Vs ALL OUT!: Daisuke Sasaki, Tetsuya Endo & Mad Paulie defeated Konosuke Takeshita, Akito & Yuki Iino when Endo pinned Iino with the Shooting Star Press (16:31).

The first of several ALL OUT Vs DAMNATION match ups on the road to Sumo Hall ended in victory for DAMNATION. At first Daisuke Sasaki was in trouble when he was in the ring with Konosuke Takeshita. Things changed thanks to Sasaki’s partners. Tetsuya Endo gave Takeshita the Tetsuya In The Sky onto Yuki Iino! Then Mad Paulie took out Akito with a Lariat. The end came with Endo hitting the Shooting Star Press onto Iino. Nobuhiro Shimatani made fun of ALL OUT afterwards because the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Champions just lost so easily! Takeshita told DAMNATION they can have a title shot whenever they wanted. When ALL OUT left the ring, Sasaki said they could have the title match now. Takeshita asked Iino if he could go for another match but Iino was in too much pain to take the request. Sasaki told ALL OUT to go home. This is just getting started. Sasaki says he will get everything he wants in 2019.

HARASHIMA called Jason Kincaid a peculiar and unique wrestler. He had fun fighting him today. He is now waiting for Shinya Aoki to choose the match stipulation for their DDT Extreme Title bout next month.

Masahiro Takanashi rolled Sammy Guevara up in the ring apron to win by countout. Guevara tried to chase him afterwards.

Yesterday Soma Takao kicked Yuki Ueno below the belt not once but twice. Ueno didn’t waste any time waiting to attack when Takao came out for their match today. They brawled around the ring and later Ueno saw Takao’s Low Blow coming so he could block it. Ueno tried to avoid the Gin And Tonic but a Thrust Kick left him stunned long enough for Takao to hit his finisher and win.

In the Battle Royal Yuni couldn’t be punched by Kikutaro and Antonio Honda because he was too short for them. Keisuke Okuda wasn’t so friendly and attacked Yuni with no problem until Kazusada Higuchi and the others eliminated him. When Toru Owashi was eliminated, Honda and Kikutaro lifted Yuni onto their shoulders to celebrate. All three of them ended up falling over the top rope and out of the ring. That left Higuchi with Maku Donaruto. The clown dry humped Higuchi and hit the Swanton Bomb. However Higuchi then hooked Donaruto into a Crucifix Pin to steal the three count. Donaruto decided to dry hump Higuchi again while Sanshiro Takagi entered the ring. Takagi asked Donaruto if he enjoyed wrestling in DDT this week. Donaruto called it fun. Well Takagi now wants to see him wrestle on a bigger stage so Maku Donrauto is booked for Sumo Hall in February!

DDT and Yukinori Matsui will put on a special show at Osaka Edion Arena #2 on 26th May. The show celebrates Matsui’s 25th anniversary in wrestling. Kikutaro snuck up on Matsui and sent him to sleep with a chop to the neck. Kikutaro took over the segment and told everyone it will be his 25th anniversary in May too. He promoted his own stuff before reviving Matsui so the show could start.

DDT “ORETACHI, DDT! 2019”, 02/02/2019
Tokyo Itabashi Green Hall

1. Yuki Ueno Vs Naomi Yoshimura

Naomi Yoshimura has been given the go ahead to come back to the ring. He spent three days in the hospital when he was diagnosed with a cervical sprain over new year’s. Yoshimura was a little worried to start getting active until he was assured everything was okay. He is able to train the same amount as he could before his injury. Daisuke Sasaki’s comments about Yoshimura that were made immediately after the injury happened still stick with him but he is going to start from the bottom of the ladder again, which is why his first match back is against Yuki Ueno. Yoshimura has never lost a match to Ueno and he was also his opponent for his first singles match. Yoshimura feels this is the perfect test to see if he has healed back to normal.

7. KO-D Openweight Title: Daisuke Sasaki (c) Vs Konosuke Takeshita

Naomichi Marufuji has been wanting to wrestle in DDT for a while now but injuries have delayed such plans from being made. That was until this week when DDT revealed he will be at “JUDGEMENT 2019” for a match against Tetsuya Endo! Marufuji’s return from injury will first happen in NOAH on 1st February. After that he will shift his attention over to DDT and Endo. Marufuji thinks Endo has the potential to be one of the best wrestlers in Japan and he wants to experience that potential for himself. Endo respects Marufuji but thinks he is different from him. He doesn’t care about having a good match, he only wants to crush Marufuji when they meet in the ring! Endo also thinks Marufuji won’t be able to reach his best condition in time for the match. Not just physically but mentally too. Endo proved how little he cares about the importance of this match by eating his lunch during the press conference while sitting next to NOAH’s president Masayuki Uchida. Although in Endo’s defence it was 5:40pm and he had to eat his homemade meal exactly two hours before his next protein drink.

Yumehito Imanari is the chairman behind the idea and also judge for one of the awards. To the surprise of no one he is judging the Miss Fat Grand Prix category.

1. Akiyori Takizara & Yuki Aoki defeated Daichi Kazato & Takato Nakano when Takizara pinned Nakano with the Sleng Teng (10:54).
2. Reversal Pro Wrestling Trial: Kuishinbo Kamen defeated Gouma Ryu and Atsushi Maruyama when Kamen submitted Ryu with a Turnover Figure 4 Leg Lock (8:17).
3. Manabu Hara defeated SAGAT by Knockout with a Right High Kick (12:39).
4. Metal Family Vs Cavalry!: Trans-Am ★ Ryuichi, Yusuke Kubo & HUB defeated Ryuichi Sekine, Ryota Nakatsu & Fuminori Abe when HUB pinned Abe with the Arumaka Shuryo (12:17).
5. Takumi Tsukamoto & Yasu Urano defeated Naoki Tanizaki & Shoichi Uchida when Urano pinned Uchida with a Crucifix Pin (16:33).
6. Union MAX Title: Isami Kodaka (c) defeated FUMA with the Isamuashi Zan (19:18).
*V3 for Isami Kodaka.

Isami Kodaka prevented FUMA from repeating history when he successfully defended the Union MAX Title against him. This time last year FUMA won the title from Kodaka and he was eager to do it again to kick off 2018. But this time Kodaka was tough enough to kick out of the Avalanche Heavy Metal Hammer and put FUMA away with the Isamuashi Zan. FUMA protested at Yuya Okada for only counting to two for his pins but then accepted the result. He apologised to the rest of the Metal Family for letting them down. Kodaka was so beaten up that he cut his promo lying on the canvas. He said today was a big deal because BASARA held its first show two years ago this month. Since then Kodaka has met many strange new wrestlers. There’s Daichi Kazato (“The most useless guy”), Takato Nakano (“a relatively good wrestler”), Ryuichi Sekine (“originally a good wrestler”), Ryota Nakatsu (“you and I will definitely become rivals”), Fuminori Abe (“already a rival”) and the ring announcer Rikiya Shindo (“What’s up with your glasses?!?”). Kodaka closed out the show by thanking everyone for supporting BASARA at the end of a very busy Osaka tour for the entire DDT family.

Memories of the BASARA Vs Dove Pro feud last year were still on the minds of Takumi Tsukamoto and Naoki Tanizaki. They did not want to participate in the pre-match handshake until Yasu Urano forced both of them to join in. The match went on without incident. Urano countered Shoichi Uchida’s Death Valley Bomb into a Crucifix Pin to win the match for himself & Tsukamoto.

SAGAT refused to shake Manabu Hara’s hand before their match. Maybe that played a part in Hara knocking him out with a High Kick twelve minutes later.

Kuishinbo Kamen was accused of putting together a scam back in April. Kamen allegedly exploited customers by charging tickets to a wrestling show that took place on a mat instead of a wrestling ring. Yukinori Matsui admitted the event did take place because he was near the scene of the crime that day for a DDT show. Both Gouma Ryu and Atsushi Maruyama became upset because it looked like Kamen was guilty. Ryu worked up his defence for Kamen, explaining that pro wrestling is pro wrestling no matter if it takes place in the ring or on a gym mat. Takumi Tsukamoto was brought out as a witness. He said that it was not a pro wrestling show. Fuminori Abe was brought out next but his disagreed. To him it was a wrestling show. The scene got so heated that a fight broke out between Ryu, Maruyama and Kamen. Ryu put Kamen in a Figure 4 Leglock but Kamen rolled him over and made him tap out. Kamen was declared not guilty. Backstage afterwards Ryu and Maruyama burst into tears and consoled each other because today may have been the last Pro Wrestling Trial for now. Maruyama recently signed with All Japan and his priorities will now be with that company. The two told each other it’s not the end, only a break. They can always see each other when they need to relax.

7. D-King Grand Prix – B Block: Shuji Ishikawa (4) defeated Akito (2) with the Splash Mountain (18:32).

A Block

1. Keisuke Ishii (4)
-. HARASHIMA (4)
-. Jiro Kuroshio (4)
4. Tetsuya Endo (3)
-. Konosuke Takeshita (3)
6. Joey Ryan (0)
-. Masahiro Takanashi (0)

B Block

1. Shuji Ishikawa (4)
-. Yukio Sakaguchi (4)
3. Mike Bailey (2)
-. Akito (2)
-. Daisuke Sasaki (2)
-. Soma Takao (2)
-. Kazusada Higuchi (2)

Day 3 of the D-King Grand Prix and the two blocks are starting to even out. Shuji Ishikawa has clearly made himself the man to beat in Block B. His win over Akito in the main event means he currently leads the block with two wins and no losses. Akito’s attempts to beat him included the use of Scorpion Locks and Figure 4 Leglocks but Ishikawa was just too strong to be kept in those holds. His last gasp chance to nab a win came from a European Clutch but it was no use. When Ishikawa regained momentum he popped Akito into the air with the Running Kneelift and dropped him with the Splash Mountain. After the match Ishikawa at least gave Akito credit for giving him a bruise for the first time in their fights. He closed out the show by singing a song. Daisuke Sasaki & Tetsuya Endo peaked through the entrance curtains during the song but they decided not to stop him.

Konosuke Takeshita had to use Joey Ryan’s moves against him in order to beat him. Ryan’s offence, his dong specifically was effective on Takeshita. When Ryan gave him a low blow, Takeshita did one in return but only hurt his foot in the process. Then a wild clash between his head and Ryan’s crotch after an Implant move did more damage to Takeshita. He later pulled Ryan by the legs into the corner post but even that had no effect. Ryan chased Takeshita around the hall and attacked the other wrestlers and DDT staff with his crotch during the rampage until he finally caught Takeshita and threw him into a row of chairs. Takeshita finally turned things around when he deflected Ryan’s lollipop into Daisuke Kiso’s mouth, making the ref faint. When Ryan check on Kiso, Takeshita took out his own lollipop, stuck it into Ryan’s mouth and booted him in the face. Rather than go for the usual German Suplex, Takeshita instead gave Ryan the Balls Plex to get the win. Takeshita said he now knows the best countermeasures to use against American wrestlers thanks to his matches with Ryan and Colt Cabana. Apparently Ryan wasn’t clued up on the Grand Prix rules because he thought losing to Takeshita meant he now had to go home. He also still wants the fans to throw paper tape at him.

After a rough start, Daisuke Sasaki finally has some points on the table with a win over Kazusada Higuchi. Sasaki escaped the Doctor Bomb by struggling out of the move and knocking over the referee in the process. With the ref down, Sasaki kicked Higuchi low and hit the Hurricanrana. However Higuchi kicked out of the move and held on to try and Power Bomb Sasaki again. Sasaki escaped that and trapped Higuchi in La Mistica Cross Facelock to get the win. The win is just what Sasaki needed because his next match is against Soma Takao in his hometown of Nerima on the 10th. The “Hero Of Nerima” cannot lose there otherwise he could never return.

Meanwhile the opposite happened to Jiro Kuroshio. He started off grand but hit his first road bump today against HARASHIMA. The DDT star was motivated and did not back down to Kuroshio’s kicks, eventually winning with the Somato. The two bowed to each other after the match. HARASHIMA knew Kuroshio is a colorful wrestler but today he found out how strong he is too. But HARASHIMA was stronger. The key was HARASHIMA did not go into the match thinking of Kuroshio as an outsider. He had just beaten Takeshita and Masahiro Takanashi so HARASHIMA took in those matches to prepare for him. Speaking of Takeshita, that is HARASHIMA’s next opponent on the 10th.

Soma Takao rolled Mike Bailey round and round and round in the Endless Waltz to beat him. Takao realised afterwards that he is the only wrestler in his block with a signature cradle move to pin his opponents. Soma declared that today he is officially recognising the Endless Waltz as one of his most important moves and he will use it more in his remaining matches. Bailey blamed his loss on a miscalculation that made him angry and lose focus. The positive is his next opponent is Yukio Sakaguchi who is always angry. Bailey can now use his own anger to fight against Sakaguchi’s anger.

At yesterday’s show Keisuke Ishii used the Carolina Reaper submission move to win his match for the first time. Today the move won him the match again, this time as part of the Grand Prix. Ishii feels he has been dragged into his opponent’s pace for every tournament match so far. With his current momentum, Ishii gives himself a 10% chance of winning the Grand Prix. Masahiro Takanashi is now the only wrestler with zero points. He may be a long way from his first win because Takeshita is his next opponent.

The Battle Royal was an excuse for Danshoku Dino to get his hands on some of the male wrestlers. But it wasn’t all fun and games. Dino still had to do his job as a referee and that included reluctantly counting out Yuni when Kazuki Hirata pinned him with a School Boy. Dino got revenge for Yuni by giving Hirata the Danshoku Driver and dragging Yuki Ueno on top to make Ueno the winner.

NωA performed one of their songs for the audience during the break.

DDT’s biggest rivalry was back in force for the main event of the D-King Grand Prix Day 2. Konosuke Takeshita and Tetsuya Endo faced off in the rematch to last year’s “RYOGOKU PETER PAN” main event. Takeshita already got off to a bad start after losing his first block match while Endo won his first bout. Neither man got the spoils as the match went to a 30 minute time limit. It is a result both are familiar with when it comes to their singles matches. Endo left the ring after a brief standoff. Takeshita apologised to the fans for failing to beat Endo for them. He then said their battle is not over.

Daisuke Sasaki slumps even further into the depths with his second Grand Prix loss in a row. Yukio Sakaguchi hit him with the Right Knee Of God then put him down with the Cobra Clutch. The win places Sakaguchi on top of Block B for the early going. Sakaguchi’s next goal is to survive against Shuji Ishikawa. Get past him and it will be clear sailing from there. Sasaki is now getting desperate. His current plan for his next opponent Kazusada Higuchi is to hit him with a beer bottle.

The Grand Prix is off to a beautiful start thanks to Jiro Kuroshio. His win over Masahiro Takanashi means he currently sits on top of Block A. Once again his tricky style caught his opponent off guard for an unexpected pinfall. He promises to show HARASHIMA a Handsome World when their match happens next. Takanashi is 0 for 2. He promises to win his 4 remaining matches.

Mike Bailey scraped by with a win against Akito. Speedball’s legs were targeted throughout the match and he was in real danger of losing to the Scorpion Lock. But somehow Bailey fought so hard to block the move he rolled himself on top of Akito to pin him. Bailey said he has to keep winning so he can catch up with Ishikawa. He also thinks the middle portion of the tournament will determine where he finishes. It won’t be easy but he needs to imagine he can win it all. Akito meanwhile is worried that his usual losing pattern is surfacing again. But he can’t focus on that because tomorrow’s opponent is Ishikawa!

What is the best way to take on the Somato? Joey Ryan unsprisingly thought it was with his dong. He tried his own version of the move on HARASHIMA, hitting him crotch first in the face. It didn’t work. HARASHIMA then took control and hit the proper Somato, putting Ryan down for the count. This was HARASHIMA’s first match with Ryan and he was left puzzled by the experience. When Ryan regained his whereabouts during the backstage interview he described HARASHIMA as a “very tough bastard” who survived Ryan’s many traps. Ryan promises to set up more traps for his next opponent Takeshita. He also hopes the fans shower him with paper tape before the match. He likes it when they do that.

Kazusada Higuchi scored his first points with a win over Soma Takao. He countered the Gin And Tonic into a Power Bomb. From there he hit a Lariat and the Doctor Bomb for the three count. This was Soma’s first match in the Grand Prix and a defeat is not a good start. His next opponent is Mike Bailey and Soma is worried about facing him with the momentum he has.

Keisuke Ishii has a new finishing move called the Carolina Reaper. The move is a Modified Facelock where he traps one arm in a Chicken Wing and the other gets hooked behind his leg. He used it to submit Kouki Iwasaki in the 4 Way Match. Elsewhere in the match Toru Owashichallenged Naomi Yoshimura to try and beat him in their exchanges.

To celebrate the new year in Osaka, Danshoku Dino told the audience a dancing star from Tokyo has come over to cheer everyone up with his performance. He was talking about Kazuki Hirata. Normally whenever Hirata tries to dance during his entrance he gets interrupted so Dino ordered Yuki Ueno to help him stop anyone from laying a finger on Hirata while he dances. They succeeded although Dino did take a Plancha from MAO during the performance. However Hirata got angry and yelled at everyone to give the audience an exciting match. As it went on Ueno asked Hirata to tag him in so he could show off cool moves to his hometown crowd. Dino later got too excited and gave Ueno the Lip Lock even though they were on the same team. That allowed NωA and Veda Scott to isolate Hirata and beat him. When the match was over Hirata asked the audience if they enjoyed it. They gave him a positive applause.

Yukinori Matsui announced he will produce a wrestling show inside Osaka Edison Arena #2 on 27th May. He called upon the DDT wrestlers to help him make it a lively show.
