Four teams are entering a single elimination tournament for the vacant KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles. They are DAMNATION T.A (with the mystery partner they have been teasing for weeks), DISASTER BOX, Eruption and a kickboxing team led by Akito. He invited Hikaru Machida to continue pro wrestling after his performances in the King Of Street Wrestling tournament. Thanomsak Toba was Machida’s “cornerman” for those matches and is inspired to pass on his knowledge over to his new wrestling protégé.

6. FRIED Yamada Festival Deep Fried Food! Special 6-Man Tag Match: Shishamo Power, Unagi Power & HARASHIMA Vs Yuji Hino, Yukio Naya & Akito

Shishamo Power finally reaches the promise land. The gimmick was created to promote this show back in January but it was delayed until May. During this time his few appearances have been to feud with Yukio Naya & Akito. They hold a grudge because they want the population of Japan to become meat eaters instead of following Shishamo’s lead of having a seafood diet. Shishamo is receiving unexpected help from local Shibushi wrestler Unagi Mask to even the numbers. Now to make their match even bigger HARASHIMA and Yuji Hino are being brought into the battle.

Other guests are on the card. Shiro Koshinaka’s previous match in DDT took place last August. Tetsuya Endo was one of his opponents for his 40th Anniversary match back in 2019 so there’s a little bit of history there between them to relive. Shinya Aoki is also on the show.

The injured Shinjiro Otani will be replaced by Shuichiro Katsumura in Match #5. Some good news over the Otani situation is he had successful surgery, is in stable condition and will be moving onto the next stage of treatment.

Three promotions smash into each other as the home team ROMANCE DAWN takes on both The Iyasareru (not representing not but ChocoPro instead) and the pair of Takumi Tsukamoto & Yasu Urano (representing BASARA).

Marika’s Graduation Match, MAX Title Bout Sponsored, Pheromones Spoil Imabayashi’s Training

April 13, 2022

TOKYO JOSHI PRO “TJPW SPRING TOUR ’22”, 17/04/2022
Tokyo Ryogoku KFC Hall

1. Marika Kobashi Graduation Commemorative Match – 1 Vs 20 Handicap Tag Match: Marika Kobashi Vs Shoko Nakajima, Yuka Sakazaki, Mizuki, Maki Itoh, Miyu Yamashita, Rika Tatsumi, Hyper Misao, Yuki Aino, Miu Watanabe, Raku, Hikari Noa, Nao Kakuta, Yuki Kamifuku, Suzume, Arisu Endo, Moka Miyamoto, Pom Harajuku, Haruna Neko, Mahiro Kiryu & Yuki Arai

Almost the entire Tokyo Joshi Pro roster will get to say goodbye to Marika Kobashi all at once. She has to go through a team of 20 wrestlers before she can graduate so any loose ends involving her can get to be tied up. These kind of graduation matches have been done before and sometimes have extra stipulations or rules added to them but at the moment it looks to be a straightforward Handicap match where Kobashi takes on the world by herself.

If you notice someone is missing that is because Kaya Toribami is not here. She has something else scheduled that day and won’t be on the show.

BASARA “BASARA 189 ~GLITTER~”, 28/04/2022

1. Union MAX Title – GRACE GROUP Presents: Ryota Nakatsu (c) Vs Daiki Shimomura

The main event is being sponsored by the bus company GRACE GROUP. They are a regular sponsor with DDT and provides tour buses for them and Tokyo Joshi Pro. I think this might be the first time they are sponsoring BASARA in some form.

This week Hisaya Imabayashi was invited over to the SAWAKI GYM for a special training session with AKIRA. Imabayashi made a promise to stand up for himself against Pheromones so his children will think he is cool. Although Imabayashi is not a physical specimen of any sort, his passion and determination was on show while he worked out with AKIRA. However when AKIRA briefly left the room to take a phone call, Pheromones creeped into the gym. They approached Imabayashi from behind and pulled his shirt over his head so he wouldn’t notice who they were. They then tricked him into doing lewd workouts in his underwear. It wasn’t until AKIRA returned and stopped them when Imabayashi realised he’s been embarrassed again! After Pheromones left, Imabayashi apologised to AKIRA but AKIRA told him he has to continue training if he wants to win. The DDT GM agreed and they finished their workout as intended, all so his kids think he is cool!

BASARA “BASARA 188 ~GLITTER~” Results

April 12, 2022

BASARA “BASARA 188 ~GLITTER~”, 12/04/2022
Shin-Kiba 1st RING
??? Fans – Withheld

1. FUMA, Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi & Daichi Kazato defeated Takumi Tsukamoto, Lil’ Kraken & Yasu Urano when FUMA pinned Kraken with a German Suplex (12:04).
2. Jacket Match: Fuminori Abe defeated Gouma by Knockout with the Nagabuchi K (24:02).
3. Daiki Shimomura & Minoru Fujita defeated Ryota Nakatsu & Akiyori Takizawa when Shimomura pinned Nakatsu with an Inverted Hurricanrana (17:35).
4. Shigehiro Irie defeated SAGAT with the Beast Bomber (17:10).
5. IRON FIST Tag Titles: Tsutomu Oosugi & Banana Senga (c) defeated Takato Nakano & Masato Kamino when Oosugi pinned Kamino with a School Boy (18:09).
*V4 for Speed Of Sounds.

It was a lucky result for Speed Of Sounds today. They barely defeated Aijin Tag thanks to a Thrust Kick from Banana Senga to Masato Kamino leading into a School Boy from Tsutomu Oosugi. Senga admitted afterwards that the match was even closer than the one last month and they probably wouldn’t win if they did another rematch. Oosugi cut him off but Takato Nakano’s eyes lit up and he begged for another rematch next month. SOS won’t do it so Nakano told them to hold onto the IRON FIST Tag Titles until Aijin Tag can earn another title shot.

Shigehiro Irie offered to shake SAGAT’s hand after their match but SAGAT refused. Instead he begged Irie for a rematch somewhere down the line. Irie nodded and left the ring.

A “perfect three count” happened when Daiki Shimomura pinned Ryota Nakatsu in their tag match. He pinned him with a 2 count before and today’s three count means Shimomura now has the confidence he needs to beat Nakatsu again when the Union MAX Title is on the line on 28th April.

The Jacket Match between Fuminori Abe and Gouma actually begun during the show opening announcements and continued while the opening tag match was going on. Both matches ended up getting mixed together at points. This was allowed to happen because the Jacket Match had No DQs, No Countouts and could only be won by Knockout. Abe won by knocking out Gouma with the Nagabuchi Kick. Asian Kung Fu Revolution then attacked the both of them because it turns out Abe and Gouma just ruined FUMA’s 12th Anniversary match! Takumi Tsukamoto & Yasu Urano came back out to rescue them, leading to a big brawl between everyone in the ring.

BURNING has a two pronged attack going into this show. Tetsuya Endo is confident he will defend the KO-D Openweight Title against Yuki Ueno next month but Ueno thinks it is a guarantee that he will beat Endo instead. Jun Akiyama will be challenging CDK for the KO-D Tag Team Titles soon and made it known he dislikes their cheating ways, like when they get the referee physically involved in their matches.

He won’t give any hints unless he gets goes out and gets drunk with a reporter that will pay his tab.

The brief period of success for Toui Kojima has worn off and he is back to his losing ways. He won a match after fighting Shinya Aoki and thinks doing it again will bring him back to winning ways.

2. Princess Of Princess Title: Shoko Nakajima (c) Vs Hyper Misao

Now it is Kyoraku Kyomei who are fighting over the Princess Of Princess Title. The challenge was made by Hyper Misao in order to become stronger. She needs to fight the toughest opponent and that right now is Shoko Nakajima. The two are still friends but Misao quickly launched the first shot, giving Nakajima a Stunner to warn her to keep her guard up at all times!

The Magical Sugar Rabbits are not taking Free WiFi seriously. They kept making connectivity jokes instead of accepting their opponents’ challenge.

Tokyo Joshi Pro has confirmed that Reika Saiki’s retirement ceremony will be held during the show.

4. Shinjiro Otani Ganpro Return Battle ~LOVE PHANTNOM 2022 Special Tag Match~: Shinjiro Otani & Mizuki Watase Vs Keisuke Ishii & Kouki Iwasaki
5. Spirit Of Ganbare World Openweight Title: Tatsuhito Takaiwa (c) Vs Yumehito Imanari

The contract for the main event has been signed but Yumehito Imanari is looking out of his depth. Tatsuhito Takaiwa tricked him into lowering his guard so he could hit him with a Lariat during the signing. He previously beat Imanari to become the Spirit Of Ganbare Title but that was part of a tournament. Since both wrestlers will be fresh going into the match this time, Takaiwa wonders if the true champion is going to be determined.

Match #4 will not be happening. Shinjiro Otani suffered a scary injury at yesterday’s ZERO1 show in Sumo Hall when he took a German Suplex into the turnbuckles. He is still conscious but hasn’t been able to move his limbs since. There is no official diagnosis yet but Otani’s wrestling career might be over.

An old friend of Ken Ohka has come to offer him guidance. Muscle Sakai misses the days when Ganbare☆Pro was built around Ohka and wants him to headline Ganpro’s biggest show in Ota Ward Gymnasium this Summer. But Ohka is nowhere near ready for it so Sakai will wrestle him to bring that spark back and prepare him for his return to the main event.

Yuna Manase got a surprise visit from a friend too. Yuki Kamifuku is calling by Ganpro for a visit so she can catch up with her. However Kamifuku is now besties with Asuka while Manase has formed the Nippon Ganbare Union with YuuRI. If that’s not enough, one of YuuRI’s first matches in Ganpro was a disappointed effort against Asuka. This is her chance to make up for it by putting up a better fight.

Still Incomplete Is Complete, KANON Is Now Canon In DDT, GM Fights Pheromones

April 5, 2022

TOKYO JOSHI PRO “STILL INCOMPLETE ’22”, 09/04/2022
Tokyo Korakuen Hall

1. Pom Harajuku & Moka Miyamoto Vs Haruna Neko & Kaya Toribami
2. Marika Kobashi Vs Raku
3. Hyper Misao Vs Miu Watanabe
4. Miyu Yamashita Vs Juria Nagano
5. Maki Itoh & Yuki Kamifuku Vs Hikari Noa & Nao Kakuta
6. Saki Akai & Yuki Arai Vs Rika Tatsumi & Mahiro Kiryu
7. Princess Tag Team Titles: Yuka Sakazaki & Mizuki (c) Vs Suzume & Arisu Endo
8. Princess Of Princess Title: Shoko Nakajima (c) Vs Yuki Aino

The Princess Of Princess Title match is a fresh start for both wrestlers involved as well as for Tokyo Joshi Pro as a whole. Shoko Nakajima is kicking off her reign as the 10th champion and wants to give everyone everything she has. Yuki Aino is moving on from being primarily a tag team wrestler and turn into a leader like her seniors.

The new team on the block Arisuzu have been winning over people with their combined cuteness in the ring. Yuka Sakazaki wants to show them that being cute is not enough to become the champion. If Arisu Endo wins the Princess Tag Team Titles she wants to bring them to her hometown and proudly show them to her family. Suzume wants Arisuzu to win the belts and become a strong presence for TJPW. Mizuki wants to remind everyone that The Magical Sugar Rabbits are continuing to grow stronger. If MagiRabi successfully defend the Princess Tag Titles they have big plans for the rest of their title reign. Sakazaki would like to go beat up Mickey Mouse at Disneyland, Hello Kitty at Sanrio Puroland and then Pokotan if he is still around. Mizuki said something similar about defending the titles in theme parks but it sounds like mascots will be safe from her wrath.

Juria Nagano wants to hit Miyu Yamashita with all of her strength and have no regrets coming out of their match. Yamashita is happy to fight someone with a karate background similar to hers. Nagano thinks the difference between them is her own kicks were only ever used to score points in Karate while Yamashita has been kicking to hurt her opponents in pro wrestling for many years. She eventually wants her own kicks to become stronger than Yamashita’s. The Brazilian Kick would be her strike of choice in that situation.

2. DDT Universal Title: MAO (c) Vs Asuka
3. KO-D Openweight Title: Tetsuya Endo (c) Vs Yuki Ueno

Ever since Pheromones was formed, nobody was more of a victim from their antics than Hisaya Imabayashi. The DDT GM has been “publicly executed” by the unit over and over. Recently he began to fight back but the numbers game is just too much for him to handle. Luckily help is on the way for him to finally get his own back. AKIRA has come to the rescue, knowing Imabayashi from a storyline they did in MUSCLE many many years ago. That link will also draw Muscle Sakai away from retirement so the three of them can put Pheromones in their place once and for all.

6. DDT Extreme Title – O-Back Ladder Match: Yuki “Sexy” Iino (c) Vs Shunma Katsumata
7. DDT Universal Title: MAO (c) Vs Michael Nakazawa

A new KO-D Openweight Title belt will be unveiled and presented to the new champion Tetsuya Endo at the show. He has not seen the new design yet and is looking forward to finding out for himself when it is given to him at the show.

Two days after the Sumo Hall show and MAO has figured out how Michael Nakazawa tricked him into giving him a DDT Universal Title shot. When Nakazawa flashed him the AEW logo on his shirt, MAO was fooled into thinking he would be fighting one of the big stars. Today at a press conference MAO showed regret at making the match and asked to make it non-title. Nakazawa explained he is part of The Elite and beating him will open up a path for MAO to wrestle against the other more stronger members. MAO lit up at the idea of fighting The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega so he signed the contract for the match. Nakazawa then gave MAO a Low Blow and admitted it is all a trick so he can get the title shot. He revealed he needs to win the championship so he can bring it back to America and keep his AEW career alive because he is currently in limbo while Omega is out injured.

The DDT Extreme Title match is now an O-Back Ladder Match. The O-Back is the kind of jock strap Yuki Iino always wears underneath his gear for his matches. He originally wanted the rule to be both he and Shunma Katsumata had to wear an O-Back while they wrestled. Katsumata refused and came up with the idea to make it a Ladder Match where whoever grabs the O-Back hanging above the ring and puts it on first will be the winner. However extra negotiations with Iino and Danshoku Dieno added another way to win. The match can also end if either wrestler decides to give up.

2. KO-D Tag Team Titles: Chris Brookes & Masahiro Takanashi (c) Vs Yuji Hino & Yukio Naya

The new KO-D Tag Team Champions have two big burly wrestlers to deal with in their first defence. Yukio Naya thinks his team with Yuji Hino has made him a far more confident pro wrestler, which Hino agrees with. Masahiro Takanashi joked that he would rather defend the Asia Dream Tag Team Titles against them inside Ichigaya Chocolate Square instead because there would be no room for the both of them. I don’t know if Chris Brookes can squeeze either of them through the window though.

1. KO-D Openweight Title: Tetsuya Endo (c) Vs X

Endo said his first challenger should be somebody who is confident they can go above and beyond. He does not want to nominate a challenger himself. He would rather someone suitable come forward and make the challenge to him. It is a clear goal Endo has come up with for this title run to be different from Konosuke Takeshita’s reign. When he won the main event on Sunday, Endo said he never saw Jun Akiyama smiling so happily. BURNING has only just started so Endo wants the KO-D Title to help make the unit bigger and better.

It is no holds barred, no countouts and the match will only end when one wrestler says “I’m Sorry” to his opponent on a microphone.

The Aijin Tag of Nakano & Kamino already lost a non-title match to Speed Of Sounds. However they were given praise and told they were welcome for a rematch sometime. Aijin Tag took the compliments to heart and challenged SOS for the IRON FIST Tag Titles because if they have even a tiny chance of winning the belts, they will go for it. The youngest member of Sento Minzoku has fought for the Union MAX Title twice before. The first of which was even against Ryota Nakatsu during Nakatsu’s first reign. Daiki Shimomura beat Nakatsu the last time they fought each other but it was in a 2 Count Rules match. He is confident he can pin Nakatsu for a 3 Count and take the MAX Title from him.

1. Isami Kodaka, Daiki Shimomura & Minoru Fujita defeated Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi, Yusuke Kubo & Daichi Kazato when Shimomura pinned Kazato with the Swanton Bomb (15:00).
2. 3 Way Match: SAGAT defeated Gouma and Lil Kraken when SAGAT pinned Gouma with the Goregrind (7:18).
3. Masahiro Takanashi & Chris Brookes defeated Takumi Tsukamoto & Yasu Urano when Brookes pinned Urano after the OATH At The Peach Garden (15:08).

5. Union MAX Title: Ryota Nakatsu (c) defeated FUMA with a Back Roll Clutch (16:40).
*V4 for Ryota Nakatsu.

Ryota Nakatsu beats FUMA by the skin of his teeth to retain the Union MAX Title. Nakatsu thanked FUMA for the challenge and FUMA admitted the champion’s judo was stronger than his own kung fu. Daiki Shimomura walked out and reminded Nakatsu he beat him in the first round of last year’s Heaven Summit tournament. It was in a 2 Count match and even so, Tsukamoto claims he kicked out at 1.9. Shimomura said he can beat him with a three count so he challenged him to a title match next month.

Speed Of Sounds praised their opponents for becoming a stronger tag team, one that could beat them the next time they wrestle each other. Takato Nakano took their word and demanded a rematch with the IRON FIST Tag Titles on the line. If it is true that he and Masato Kamino have even a tiny percent chance of beating SOS then they want to take it. Tsutomu Oosugi tried to explain he only said that as a compliment but he & Banana Senga had to accept the challenge in the end. Nakano & Kamino want to win the belts and stand at the forefront of BASARA!

The OATH At The Peach Garden used by CDK is a Super Kick from Masahiro Takanashi into a Back Clutch Hold from Chris Brookes.
