DDT/GCW “NEVER ENDING NOISY SUMMER”, 12/08/2024
Tokyo Korakuen Hall

1. Special 8-Man Tag Match: Yuki Ueno, Masha Slamovich, Yuni & Ilusion Vs Maki Itoh, Chris Brookes, Takeshi Masada & Marcus Mathers
2. DDT Variety Team Vs The Mothership: Kazuki Hirata & Antonio Honda Vs Allie Katch & Dark Sheik
3. DDT Vs GCW Special Tag Match: Daisuke Sasaki & KANON Vs Rina Yamashita & Broski Jimmy
4. DDT Vs GCW Special Tag Match: Tetsuya Endo & Yuki Iino Vs Gringo Loco & 1 Called Manders
5. DDT Vs GCW Special Single Match: Danshoku Dieno Vs Effy
6. GCW World Title – 3 Way Hardcore Match: Mance Warner (c) Vs Shunma Katsumata Vs Joey Janela
7. DDT Universal Title: MAO (c) Vs Alex Zayne

Tomorrow GCW will begin their tour of Japan by co-promoting a Korakuen Hall show with DDT. They will be doing two other events at Shinjuku FACE during the week. According to an article on DDT’s website that was written by the owner of the FREEBIRDS online shop*, one of the reasons GCW now works with DDT is to show the Japanese audience they have moved on from just being a death match promotion.

*The answer to the question, are there Japanese fans who are diehard into the American wrestling scene just like there are American fans who obsess over puro?

TOKYO JOSHI PRO “TOKYO PRINCESS CUP”, 23/08/2024
Shinjuku FACE

1. Tokyo Princess Cup – Semi Final: Yuki Arai Vs Ryo Mizunami
2. Tokyo Princess Cup – Semi Final: Yuki Aino Vs Zara Zakher

What an unlikely final four we have here. The two semi-finals both feature a pair of opponents who are familiar with each other. Yuki Arai fought Ryo Mizunami in a tag match at “WRESTLE PRINCESS IV” last October and she even won that match for her team. Mizunami thinks highly of her and it will make her summer if she can make it to the Tokyo Princess Cup Final by beating Arai. Yuki Aino and Zara Zakher teamed together at “TJPW LIVE IN PHILLY” this past April. Zakher already produced two shocking upsets in the tournament already but Aino claims she has already been studying her opponent.

BAKA GAIJIN + FRIENDS “FUCKED UP FEST”, 24/08/2024
Tokyo Nakano Moonstep

1. Special Single Match: Mr. Bueno Vs To-y
2. Special Tag Team Match: Munetatsu Nakamura & Kota Ibushikoshi Vs Keigo Nakamura & Kazuma Sumi
3. Special Single Match: Tyrannosaurus Inoue Vs Tyrannosaurus Morozumi
4. Special Tag Team Match: Masahiro Takanashi & Chie Koishikawa Vs Thanomsak Toba & Sayaka
5. International 4 Way Dance: Shivam Vs Dr. Gore Vs Monomoth Vs Jake De Leon
6. Triple Threat Match: Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi Vs Antonio Honda Vs Yasu Urano
7. Special Single Match: Maya Yukihi Vs Ram Kaichow
8. Hardcore 4 Way Match: Shunma Katsumata Vs MAO Vs Chris Brookes Vs Mad Dr. Ueki

Since this big festival is happening on Chris Brookes’s birthday, he gets to have a big main event match. A Hardcore 4 Way free for all pitting him against Shunma Katsumata, MAO and Mad Dr. Ueki sounds like the right way to bring the party towards its ending. The event is lasting all day with one match scheduled to happen on the hour, every hour until the final two matches take place later at night.

Tyrannosaurus Inoue is not the only inflatable wrestling dinosaur to be found in Japan these days. Tyrannosaurus Morozumi has been doing the same thing in the University Pro Wrestling scene.

Princess Cup Quarter Finals, Hien, Ueno And Aoki Face Off, First Few EVE X TJPW Matches

August 5, 2024

TOKYO JOSHI PRO “TOKYO PRINCESS CUP”, 10/08/2024

1. 3 Way Match: Pom Harajuku Vs Mahiro Kiryu Vs Runa Okubo
2. Arisu Endo & Chika Nanase Vs Moka Miyamoto & Kaya Toribami

4. Miyu Yamashita & Maki Itoh Vs Masha Slamovich & Toga
5. Tokyo Princess Cup – Quarter Final: Suzume Vs Yuki Arai
6. Tokyo Princess Cup – Quarter Final: Mizuki Vs Zara Zakher
7. Tokyo Princess Cup – Quarter Final: Yuki Kamifuku Vs Yuki Aino
8. Tokyo Princess Cup – Quarter Final: Rika Tatsumi Vs Ryo Mizunami

Eight women remain in the Tokyo Princess Cup. From this point onwards the bracket will get shuffled up so no one who wins will immediately know who they will face in the semi finals. Usually the lottery will happen at the end of the show.

Maki Itoh’s latest tour with GCW brings her going from Japan to America back to Japan and then to America once more. Masha Slamovich is on the Japan tour too and she is teaming with Toga to take on 121000000.

This will be the first time all four current members of The Up Up Girls (Pro Wrestling) are teaming together for an 8-Woman Tag Match.

HIMAWARI won’t be at the show because she is making a stage appearance somewhere else that day. Whatever the performance is about involves a lot of swordplay.

BASARA “BASARA 254 ~HIEN~”, 13/08/2024
Shin-Kiba 1st RING

The new schedule for BASARA splitting their “UTAGE” show between red and blue brandings begins here. “HIEN” shows promise to contain Hard Mode level matches. The appearances of Kengo Mashimo, Kota Sekifuda, Daisuke Sekimoto and Kuma Arashi going against the BASARA roster is a good way to start things off.

DDT “FIGHTING BEER GARDEN 2024 IN SHINJUKU – DAY 1”, 15/08/2024

4. Drunk Match: HARASHIMA Vs Masahiro Takanashi
5. International Special 4 Way Match: Danshoku Dieno Vs Joey Janela Vs Effy Vs Takeshi Masada
6. International Special Single Match: Danhausen Vs Kazuki Hirata

What is more powerful than Kazuki Hirata dancing to “Tokyo GO!”? Maybe Danhausen dancing to “Tequila”? It is a Beer Garden show after all.

During the week Joey Janela revealed he has been suffering from gallstone pancreatitis. It sounded like he was going to be out of action for a while but instead he went ahead and wrestled in GCW as scheduled. He is also determined to be in Japan for the tour and DDT on their end has not said anything that suggests otherwise.

TOKYO JOSHI PRO “TOKYO PRINCESS CUP”, 03/08/2024
Shinjuku FACE
297 Fans

1. Suzume, Arisu Endo & Uta Takami defeated Shino Suzuki, Runa Okubo & Chika Nanase when Suzume pinned Nanase with the Ring A Bell (8:41).
2. Miyu Yamashita, Mahiro Kiryu, Moka Miyamoto & Kaya Toribami defeated Mizuki, Raku, HIMAWARI & Kira Summer when Yamashita pinned HIMAWARI with the Attitude Adjustment (10:35).
3. Tokyo Princess Cup – Round 2: Rika Tatsumi defeated Toga with the Dragon Sleeper (7:58).
4. Tokyo Princess Cup – Round 2: Yuki Kamifuku defeated Pom Harajuku with the Famouser (6:58).
5. Tokyo Princess Cup – Round 2: Ryo Mizunami defeated Haru Kazashiro with the Ichijiku (7:10).
6. Tokyo Princess Cup – Round 2: Yuki Arai defeated Wakana Uehara with the Sasori-Katame (9:23).
7. Tokyo Princess Cup – Round 2: Zara Zakher defeated Miu Watanabe with the Control Z (12:45).
8. Tokyo Princess Cup – Round 2: Yuki Aino defeated Shoko Nakajima with a Shoulder Block (16:54).

Round 2 of the Tokyo Princess Cup is now complete. It could be that this year’s Cinderella run for the tournament will happen to Yuki Aino. She defeated Shoko Nakajima in the main event, the first time that has happened in Aino’s career. She blocked Nakajima from turning the Northern Lights Suplex into the Locomotive version. Nakajima however kicked out of the Venus DDT at one. She hit Aino with the Rider Kick but Aino responded with a Shoulder Block that wiped out her opponent and got her the victory. She is happy to win but it is only one victory so she wants to fight Nakajima even more. The rest of the Princess Cup is only going to get tougher from here but Aino promises to burn, burn, burn this summer!

The semi-main event is even more newsworthy. Zara Zakher, the first foreign outsider to compete in the Princess Cup has eliminated the Princess Of Princess Champion from the tournament! In a match that pitted power against power, Kazher scored the upset by beating Miu Watanabe with her Control Z finisher. She feels great after finally winning a match in Tokyo Joshi Pro, especially since she beat the champion. She moves on to face Mizuki in the Quarter Final. Zakher lost to her once before. She thinks the result will be different next time. Watanabe thinks she lose because of her own momentum and she praised Zakher for having overwhelming potential. She wants to turn this loss into a win someday to prove she is stronger than her.

It’s looking good that Yuki Arai will reach her goal of matching last year’s Princess Cup run where she reached the Semi Finals. Wakana Uehara gave her some trouble with a Brainbuster and the Banana Pillow. But Arai fought back with the Rookie Award and then the Scorpion Deathlock for the win. Arai said Uehara is ambitious and quickly growing in the ring. Beating her has given Arai confidence. She will be facing Suzume in the Quarter Final and is eager to beat her one on one after losing to her in the Princess Tag Team Titles match recently. Uehara said she had a plan ready to win but Arai was just so much stronger than she imagined.

Haru Kazashiro tried to get the jump on Ryo Mizunami early but her attack was easily dealt with. She got some more offence in with Cross Body Attacks and even attempted a Fisherman Suplex. Mizunami took over though and made Kazashiro submit to the Ichijiku Shoulder Lock. She was already looking forward to taking part in the Princess Cup but now her pespective has changed a little. It only takes one loss to get knocked out and getting jumped by Kazashiro flipped a switch. She is now fully determined to win the tournament! Kazashiro was upset after the match. She knew it was unlikely she would win but she wasn’t even a millimeter close to beating Mizunami.

The delayed match between Pom Harajuku and Yuki Kamifuku went ahead today. Harajuku kept kicking Kamifuku in the shin and Kamifuku kept poking Harajuku in the eyes. Harajuku went for a big move and charged in with the P Attack but Kamifuku cut her off with a Horizontal Chop. She then pinned her with the Famouser. Kamifuku explained she was too sick to wrestle last week but if the match went ahead it would have been on the same day as the big RIZIN show. She wants to be a winner this summer just like Ren Hiramoto. She will be facing Aino in the Quarter Final.

Toga came close to beating Rika Tatsumi but it just wasn’t to be. She landed the Rock Bottom but Tatsumi kicked out at two. Toga held on though, threw some Elbow Strikes and tried to use the move again. But Tatsumi countered it into the Dragon Sleeper and made Toga give up. Tatsumi thought the win would be a given and she is relieved with the result. She thinks Toga is a very honest person and should keep her spirits up. Tatsumi will be facing Mizunami next in the Quarter Final and she feels very lucky to be her opponent. Toga said she wanted to give it her all but knew she had to push past her limits to have a chance at winning.

It was announced that Max The Impaler’s next appearance for TJPW in Japan will be on 22nd September for “WRESTLE PRINCESS V”.

DDT “MEET & GREET & FIGHT” Results

August 2, 2024

DDT “MEET & GREET & FIGHT”, 02/08/2024
Shinjuku FACE
295 Fans

1. Right To Challenge Anytime, Anywhere 3 Way Match: Kazuma Sumi defeated Yuni and Ilusion when Sumi pinned Ilusion with the School Boy (10:41).
*Kazuma Sumi wins the White Right To Challenge Anytime, Anywhere Shield.
2. Right To Challenge Anytime, Anywhere Single Match: KANON defeated Yukio Naya by TKO with the Cobra Twist 2.0 (12:41).
*KANON wins the Black Right To Challenge Anytime, Anywhere Shield.
3. Right To Challenge Anytime, Anywhere Match Staggered Entry Battle Royal: Antonio Honda, HARASHIMA and Keigo Nakamura are the final three survivors (26:14).
Order Of Elimination: Tetsuya Endo, Takeshi Masada, Yuki Iino, Chris Brookes, Tomomitsu Matsunaga, Soma Takao, Yuya Koroku, To-y, Makoto Oishi, Kazuki Hirata, Toru Owashi, Masahiro Takanashi & Daisuke Sasaki, MJ Paul, Danshoku Dieno and Akito.
*Antonio Honda wins the Red Right To Challenge Anytime, Anywhere Shield. HARASHIMA wins the Blue Right To Challenge Anytime, Anywhere Shield. Keigo Nakamura wins the Light Blue Right To Challenge Anytime, Anywhere Shield.

The Right To Challenge Anytime, Anywhere contract are back and this time they are in shield form! Five of the prizes were on the line across three matches today granting whoever holds them a shot at either the KO-D Openweight Title, DDT Universal Title or DDT Extreme Title whenever they want. However the shield holder risks losing his prize if they directly lose a match in DDT before they cash it in. If the shields look familiar to you then I don’t know what link you’re trying to establish. It’s not like they just went and got a certain piece of video game merch, turned it upside down, painted it a different colour and slapped a logo in the centre…

The three champions who will become potential targets got to talk about the Shields at the start of the show. Yuki Ueno, MAO and Shunma Katsumata know they have to watch their backs for the next few months but are all confident they can defend their title wherever, whenever and against whoever.

The first Shield went to Kazuma Sumi for winning a 3 Way Match against Yuni and Ilusion. Yuni missed a Moonsault so with him out of the picture, Sumi got to pin Ilusion with a School Boy to win. When he received his prize he wanted to cash it in straight away. However Hisaya Imabayashi scolded him for not knowing the rules. The Shields will not become active until 10th August and cannot be cashed in until then.

Yukio Naya’s hopes of getting a Shield was blown away thanks to Ryuichi “Fire” Kawakami interfering in his match. Naya had KANON beaten when MJ Paul distracted the ref so Kawakami could attack Naya with a Lariat. KANON then gave Naya the Sleepy Hollow and held him in the Cobra Twist 2.0 until the ref stopped the match when Naya wouldn’t repond to him.

The main event was a 19-Man Royal Rumble with the three remaining Shields on the line. The last three wrestlers left standing would be declared the winners. When the dust settled Antonio Honda, HARASHIMA and Keigo Nakamura were the survivors.

When they received their prize all five Shield holders got together in the ring to talk about their plans. HARASHIMA said he will aim for the KO-D Title. So will Honda and he promised when he cashes in while Ueno is hurt, he will approach him as if he trying to comfort him. He also threatened to do things like sneak into Ueno’s kitchen and mess with his food just to make him paranoid. KANON won’t say who he will target but it will be at the worst time possible for that champion. Sumi wants to cash in on the Universal Title because MAO has treated him kindly. He would do the match immediately if he was allowed. Nakamura has a grand goal in mind. He wants to win two more Shields so he can challenge all three champions to a 4 Way Match so when he wins he will become the DDT Triple Crown Champion!

A contract signing for the next KO-D Tag Team Titles match on 10th August took place between BURNING and SCHADENFREUDE International. The match was originally booked to celebrate the 2nd Anniversary of Takeshi Masada’s debut match. He talked about his recent losing streak that is getting him criticised by his peers. Akito in particular told him he is missing something and Masada is trying to figure out what it is. Winning the KO-D Tag Titles will help him find the answer. Tetsuya Endo said he won’t lose to a wrestler who is unsure of himself. Yuki Iino said he shaved his beard off for this match and he wants to fight Masada with that kind of resolve.

Right To Challenge Matches, Full DDT Vs GCW Card, Naya Is Turning 30, Takao’s 15th Anniversary

July 31, 2024

DDT “MEET & GREET & FIGHT”, 02/08/2024
Shinjuku FACE

1. Right To Challenge Anytime, Anywhere 3 Way Match: Yuni Vs Ilusion Vs Kazuma Sumi
2. Right To Challenge Anytime, Anywhere Single Match: KANON Vs Yukio Naya
3. Right To Challenge Anytime, Anywhere Match Staggered Entry Battle Royal: Tetsuya Endo Vs Yuki Iino Vs Daisuke Sasaki Vs MJ Paul Vs Chris Brookes Vs Masahiro Takanashi Vs Antonio Honda Vs Takeshi Masada Vs HARASHIMA Vs Toru Owashi Vs Danshoku Dieno Vs Makoto Oishi Vs Kazuki Hirata Vs To-y Vs Keigo Nakamura Vs Yuya Koroku

The DDT version of Money In The Bank is back and ready to leave a trail of chaos in its wake this summer. This year there will be five Right To Challenge Anytime, Anywhere prizes up for grabs across three matches. Three contracts will go to the last three survivors of a Battle Royal featuring all of DDT’s mainstays. One will go to the winner of KANON Vs Yukio Naya. The final one will go to the winner of the 3 Way Match between Yuni, Ilusion and Kazuma Sumi. So by the time the five holders are determined it will be a group of wrestlers spreading all over the main event, midcard and rookie scenes.

There are also some slight changes to the rules for the prize this year. The contracts will become active from 10th August to 23rd November. They can be cashed in on any DDT related show held during that period for either a KO-D Openweight Title shot, a DDT Universal Title shot or a DDT Extreme Title shot. If a contract holder directly loses a match on a DDT show then the contract is given to whoever beats them. That is not a new rule but limiting it happening to just DDT related events is a new change.

The full DDT Vs GCW card is here. Some of the new tag matches added includes BURNING facing Gringo Loco & 1 Called Manders as well as DAMNATION T.A having to deal with the odd couple team of Rina Yamashita & Broski Jimmy. Are Allie Katch & Dark Sheik prepared for the silliness of Kazuki Hirata & Antonio Honda? That’s not all, Masha Slamovich and Marcus Mathers find themselves dropped deep into the DDT roster for an 8-Man Tag Match. There will be more DDT and Tokyo Joshi Pro involvement later on in GCW’s tour of Japan but I’ll write about it in tomorrow’s DDT Around The World article.

Tokyo Korakuen Hall

1. Soma Takao 15th Anniversary ~ Special Single Match: Soma Takao Vs Keisuke Ishii
2. KO-D Openweight Title: Yuki Ueno (c) Vs Shinya Aoki

A fitting opponent for Soma Takao. When he debuted in DDT 15 years ago one of his teammates was Keisuke Ishii. The two then went on to grow up in wrestling together with the rest of the Young Communication generation and then joined forces with Shigehiro Irie to create Team Drift. This match as added importance because Ishii is the current Spirit Of Ganbare World Champion.

Ryuichi “Fire” Kawakami will be on the show.

Another Ganbare☆Joshi Vs Ice Ribbon tag match is coming up. This time Ice Ribbon are sending people from both sides of the experience scale. There should be no need to explain who Tsukasa Fujimoto is at this point. She has been a central figure for the company for so long now. Teaming with her is the brand new rookie Kirari Wakana. The 18 year old only just had her debut match earlier this month and is already getting some good results her way. Yuna Manase & YuuRI better watch out and not take her lightly.

Two championship matches built around DDT Vs GCW have been added to the show. MAO is going to defend the DDT Universal Title against Alex Zayne. Meanwhile Shunma Katsumata is getting himself in the middle of Mance Warner and Joey Janella’s grudge over the GCW World Title. A Hardcore 3 Way Match is going to add fuel to that fire.

1. Blindfold Hidden Breast 4 Way Match: Chris Brookes Vs Antonio Honda Vs Super Sasadango Machine Vs Kazuma Sumi
2. Drunk Match: HARASHIMA Vs Masahiro Takanashi

The two wrestlers who are considered the biggest drinkers in DDT will face off in a drunk match. HARASHIMA and Masahiro Takanashi are going to drink each other under the table rather than put each other through one.

Danhausen, Joey Janela and Effy will all be part of the Beer Garden show since they will already be in Japan for the GCW tour. I hear Danhausen is still under AEW contract but both parties have become sick of each other so he gets to do stuff like this away from AEW until his deal runs out.

The GCW only shows on their tour are still going to have DDT and Tokyo Joshi Pro talent involved but I’ll save writing about them until the shows take place. I don’t know why they think Broski Jimmy Vs Miyu Yamashita is a good idea but it’s happening.

DDT “AFTER PETER PAN 2024 IN SHINJUKU” Results

DDT “AFTER PETER PAN 2024 IN SHINJUKU”, 26/07/2024
Shinjuku FACE
248 Fans

1. Special Single Match: Kazuki Hirata defeated Yuni by Disqualification when Yuni was deemed to have attacked Hirata with a Chair (8:05).
2. Tetsuya Endo & Yuya Koroku defeated Antonio Honda & Ilusion when Endo pinned Ilusion with the Spinning Torture Rack Bomb (9:45).
3. Special Single Match: Yuki Iino defeated MJ Paul with the Spear (9:37).
4. Special Single Match: HARASHIMA defeated Keigo Nakamura with the Somato (10:35).
5. Special Single Match: Shinya Aoki defeated Akito with a Piledriver (7:41).
6. Special 8-Man Tag Match: Daisuke Sasaki, Ryuichi “Fire” Kawakami & KANON defeated Yukio Naya, Soma Takao & Kazuma Sumi when Kawakami pinned Sumi with the Thunder Fire Bomb (12:22).
7. Special 8-Man Tag Match: Yuki Ueno, MAO, Shunma Katsumata & To-y defeated Jun Akiyama, Danshoku Dieno, Makoto Oishi & Takeshi Masada when Ueno pinned Masada with the WR (22:14).

With “WRESTLE PETER PAN 2024” in the rear view mirror today was the first look towards what directions everyone in DDT will be taking towards the next Sumo Hall show at the end of the year. The 37KAMIINA are now whole again thanks to MAO ending his runaway phase and rejoining the group. They won their match in the main event against a collection of DDT wrestlers. Among them was Makoto Oishi who this week announced his plans to leave DDT and go freelance in October. One of his requests was to wrestle against MAO & Shunma Katsumata again, which he did today. To-y got caught up in the moment and joined in with calling Oishi “Master” even though he has no connection to him. After the match Ueno welcomed MAO back to The 37KAMIINA and talked about how much he missed him. Backstage MAO and Katsumata both said they want to have a 3 Way Match with Oishi to be the NωA reunion part of Oishi’s farewell tour. Danshoku Dieno also approached Oishi wanting the two of them to challenge for the KO-D Tag Team Titles.

Ryuichi “Fire” Kawakami added salt to Yukio Naya’s wounds after their match by telling him he hasn’t been working out enough. This provoked Naya into attacking him but DAMNATION T.A all ganged up on Naya with a chair and left him in a beaten pile. Kawakami’s advice is Naya should either gain 5-10kg or lose weight. He also keeps calling DAMNATION T.A “FIRE DAMNATION” but Daisuke Sasaki has to remind him that’s not what the unit is called. Naya’s response was to challenge Kawakami to a singles match. That will happen in Nagoya on 8th September.

The next challenger for Ueno and the KO-D Openweight Title is showing off how dangerous an opponent he is going to be. Shinya Aoki outgrappled Akito before using a Piledriver on him to get the win. His warning to Ueno is loud and clear. Aoki can kill him as both a fighter and as a wrestler! Ueno watched his speech from the ring entrance.

More challengers are on the way for BURNING. As mentioned above, Dieno & Oishi could be on the hunt for a future shot at the KO-D Tag Titles. But first BURNING wants to defend the belts against SCHADENFREUDE International. After Tetsuya Endo & Yuya Koroku won their tag match, Endo made a request for their match against Chris Brookes & Takeshi Masada in Osaka on 10th August to have the titles on the line.

Backstage Ilusion asked Antonio Honda if he could join SCHADENFREUDE International. Honda could not make the decision by himself because Brookes & Masahiro Takanashi are both wrestling in Thailand currently.

A ref bump happened in the opener so Kazuki Hirata poured ketchup over his head and made sure Yuni was holding a chair when the Yukinori Matsui recovered. Matsui thought Yuni violently attacked Hirata so he disqualified him. Matsui scolded Yuni and said he doesn’t remember raising him like this!

With a KO-D Openweight Title shot coming up in his future, Shinya Aoki is starting his preparations with a match against Akito.

Similar setup here. Takeshi Masada’s first ever singles match against Akito is the headline match, everything else is currently out of order.

It’s an unofficial DISASTER BOX reunion as HARASHIMA, Toru Owashi & Kazuki Hirata are all teaming up again. Is this going to work out like the Smile Squash revival did?

DDT/GCW “NEVER ENDING NOISY SUMMER”, 12/08/2024

1. DDT Vs GCW Special Single Match: Danshoku Dieno Vs Effy

The first match announced is probably the most DDT Vs GCW match the two companies could come up with together. Dieno takes on Effy!

DDT “MEMORIES OF SUMMER VACATION 2024 TOUR IN YOKOHAMA”, 17/08/2024
Yokohama Radiant Hall

1. Special Single Match: Danshoku Dieno Vs Michael Nakazawa

The return of Michael Nakazawa to DDT was probably not as golden as he thought it was going to be, especially when it got overshadowed by Kota Ibushi minutes later. Still, Nakazawa came in to be used as a weapon against Dieno and that’s an issue that still needs to be settled. So the two are going to have a match against each other next month.

DDT “MEMORIES OF SUMMER VACATION 2024”, 25/08/2024
Tokyo Korakuen Hall

1. KO-D Openweight Title: Yuki Ueno (c) Vs Shinya Aoki

Yuki Ueno has chosen Shinya Aoki to be his seventh challenger for this KO-D Title reign. Aoki taught him a lot with the matches they had together last year and now Ueno believes he can beat him. Also the match Aoki wants to do most nowadays is to fight Ueno in a DDT ring.

Tokyo Princess Cup 2024 Brackets

July 25, 2024

The bracket drawing for the Tokyo Princess Cup was held in Shibuya during the week with the majority of the entrants in attendance. Those who could not be there for various reasons included Ryo Mizunami, Yuki Arai, Suzume, Pom Harajuku, Runa Okubo and Zara Zakher. Everyone who did attend all gave comments about their first matches and tournament goals.

TOKYO JOSHI PRO “TOKYO PRINCESS CUP”, 28/07/2024
Tokyo Ryogoku KFC Hall

1. Tokyo Princess Cup – Round 1A: Yuki Arai Vs Kaya Toribami
2. Tokyo Princess Cup – Round 1B: Arisu Endo Vs Miu Watanabe
3. Tokyo Princess Cup – Round 1C: Runa Okubo Vs Yuki Aino
4. Tokyo Princess Cup – Round 2A: Shino Suzuki Vs Suzume
5. Tokyo Princess Cup – Round 2C: Mizuki Vs Moka Miyamoto
6. Tokyo Princess Cup – Round 2E: Pom Harajuku Vs Yuki Kamifuku

Yuki Arai and Kaya Toribami debuted in the same year just a month away from each other and are of similar age. They’ve never had a singles match against each other until now and Toribami wants to give it her all so she can win.

Miu Watanabe pointed out she can achieve the Grand Slam of all Tokyo Joshi Pro accomplishments if she can win the Princess Cup. That means winning every TJPW championship and tournament. Arisu Endo is having a lot of tag team success lately but wants to focus on winning a singles tournament by herself this summer.

It’s been a frustrating time for Yuki Aino because she feels there are wresters in TJPW who become so amazing that she is not good enough to fight them. However she knows how many people support her and have high expectations for her. She wants to spend her hot summer smashing through the competition.

Shino Suzuki has had a couple of singles matches against Suzume a few times already but has never beaten her. She will do her best to beat her for the first time.

The two time winner Mizuki says she is aiming to reach the top yet again. However she admits it gets lonely up there so she wants everyone to support her. Moka Miyamoto doesn’t want to let her do that though. She wants to prove she is the best just like Mizuki does.

Every year Yuki Kamifuku tells people she hates competing in tournaments. But recently especially after she reached the final last year fans have encouraged her to do her best. Even her mother scolds her for being so negative about it. So this year Kamifuku is taking a more cheerful approach to being in the tournament.

TOKYO JOSHI PRO “TOKYO PRINCESS CUP”, 03/08/2024
Shinjuku FACE

1. Tokyo Princess Cup – Round 2B: Winner Of Match 1A Vs Wakana Uehara
2. Tokyo Princess Cup – Round 2D: Winner Of Match 1B Vs Zara Zakher
3. Tokyo Princess Cup – Round 2F: Winner Of Match 1C Vs Shoko Nakajima
4. Tokyo Princess Cup – Round 2G: Rika Tatsumi Vs Toga
5. Tokyo Princess Cup – Round 2H: Haru Kazashiro Vs Ryo Mizunami

Whoever wins between Arai and Toribami, either will be a first time opponent for Wakana Uehara. She is determined to win no matter who she faces.

Zakher’s first match in the tournament will be against either Watanabe or Endo.

She feels bad for saying this but Shoko Nakajima wants Aino to beat Okubo so she can face her in Round 2. After the match she had against Aja Kong, Nakajima feels the need to evolve in order to survive in TJPW. For this tournament she wants to grab a hold of something new and break out of her shell. Even then it won’t mean anything unless she wins the tournament again.

For Rika Tatsumi the Princess Cup is the fastest way for her to get another shot at regaining the Princess Of Princess Title. Whether she fights against rookies or veterans she is going to destroy them all this summer! Toga knows just how crazy Tatsumi gets in her matches. She will try to surpass that craziness to advance to the next round.

Due to scheduling, Ryo Mizunami’s bracket spot was automatically placed in Round 2 in the beginning before any other drawing was picked. Haru Kazashiro is a little scared to be her opponent because of the difference in strength but also thinks she is lucky to get such a big opponent in her first tournament appearance.
