Last January DDT created the No Gamble Rumble, an open audition for wrestlers of all shape and sizes to compete in a Battle Royal. The only condition was the entrants had to volunteer without getting paid. Those who passed would get future bookings with DDT. Tsutenkakka and Tsubasa Suzuki were the two names plucked from last year’s match who passed the audition. It doesn’t matter if the wrestlers are independent, amateur, from the college club scene or even just an ordinary person with no prior experience. All can apply to take part. This year Sanshiro Takagi, Akito & Toru Owashi will be the selection committee as well as part of the match itself to put the participants through their paces.

10. DDT Extreme Title: Shunma Katsumata (c) Vs Hideki Okatani
11. DDT Universal Title: MAO (c) Vs Takeshi Masada
12. KO-D Openweight Title: Yuki Ueno (c) Vs HARASHIMA

The 27th Anniversary of DDT’s first show contains 12 matches so they will not overrun the 5 hour timeslot in Korakuen Hall this time. The DDT Universal Title is up for grabs as well as who will get to defend that championship in American this April. MAO believes he is now the greatest DDT Universal Champion ever and wanted his next defence to be at the Philadelphia show. However Takeshi Masada really wants to be in the same position and wanted to challenge MAO before then so he can take that spot instead. MAO only wants to be challenge by wrestlers he thinks can be trusted with the Universal Title. He doesn’t believe Masada is at that level yet but the audience support for the challenger convinced MAO to give him the chance.

The newest unit in DDT could quickly become champions before we know it. Zuncha♪Muscle Survivor will now face D.O.A for the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles after Naruki Doi pinned Makoto Oishi yesterday. Just like with D.O.A’s previous defences, high stakes must be on the line for both teams. Doi decided that if his team loses then they will split up. That sounds like a serious stipulation until you find out Doi does not want to be part of Kazuki Hirata’s new unit so he isn’t going to lose any sleep if they lose and never have to team up again.

Shuji Ishikawa returns to DDT for the first time since last July. He is coming off of a bad split with All Japan and now has new responsibilities as the GM of Evolution Joshi. So if this is his only DDT appearance for the year I’ll take it.

The Intern Wrestler Tsubasa Suzuki gets Soma Takao for his first match.

GANBARE☆PRO “GANPRO 2024 TRUE BLUE”, 20/03/2024

GROUND ABSOLUTE will try and stop that because Shuichiro Katsumura isn’t looking to lose either of his championships anytime soon.

DDT “APRIL FOOL 2024”, 07/04/2024
Tokyo Korakuen Hall

1. Special Single Match: Shinya Aoki Vs Chihiro Hashimoto
2. Dramatic Dream Tag Match: Yuki Ueno & MAO Vs Zack Sabre Jr. & Chris Brookes

A big surprise was dropped in DDT yesterday when Chris Brookes invited his friend Zack Sabre Jr. to come over for a match. Sabre has a few DDT tapes in his collection back home so the place was always on his bucket list. Sadly his hopes of fighting Yoshihiko or the Ladder aren’t possible at the moment so he identified DDT’s two strongest singles champions as wrestlers he would like to fight. Yuki Ueno & MAO are just as excited to do the match as Sabre & Brookes are.

There is also going to be a rematch from a DDT bout that took place at Tokyo Dome City Hall in December 2022. On that night Chihiro Hashimoto beat Shinya Aoki clean and Aoki wants to avenge that loss to her. He expects the rematch to be as dramatic as sumo wrestler Shinichi Suzukawa’s return from injury was!

5. Hokuoh Presents ~Toy Kojima’s Sauna Room~: Masato Tanaka defeated To-y with the Sliding D (13:22).
6. KO-D Openweight Title ~Naniwa Kenko Land-Yu Presents Yuki Ueno’s Sauna Room~: Yuki Ueno (c) defeated Danshoku Dieno with a Dropkick (32:38).
*V2 for Yuki Ueno.

The entirety of Shinjuku FACE was taken over by The 37KAMIINA for their third annual self produced show. However in the main even the crowd was behind Danshoku Dieno rather than Yuki Ueno for the KO-D Openweight Title match. To be fair Dieno did bring his pet dog Haku with him to the ring and everybody loves him so Ueno knew what he was in for. This could likely be Dieno’s last chance at fighting for the KO-D Title and he fought like it was. He used the Gaydo Clutch, the Canadian Destroyer version of the Danshoku Driver and the Moonsault. However Ueno used one of Dieno’s own tricks against him by giving him the Lip Lock followed by a rush of attacks. Dieno did hit best to keep fighting but a well placed Dropkick to the face put him down for the count. Ueno thanked Dieno for facing him today and showing so much heart. He remembers hearing Dieno say if he won the title today it would have changed his life. According to Ueno his own life changed a long time ago when he discovered DDT and met Dieno. He encouraged Dieno to keep sticking a middle finger up to others and continue to be his rival. Dieno said he has mixed feelings right now but he thinks DDT is really fun. He’ll get his own back by making Haku attract all the fans away from Ueno at the merch table after the show!

HARASHIMA then praised Ueno for a great match and called him the current ace of DDT. He is turning 50 years old later this year and when he took part in Yukio Sakaguchi’s retirement match HARASHIMA realized something. He wants to become KO-D Champion again by any means necessary because he is the undisputed ace of DDT! Ueno spoke about admiring HARASHIMA growing up but he is not like that anymore. He will take on HARASHIMA as the champion and surpass him as DDT’s undisputed ace! The title bout will take place at DDT’s 27th Anniversary show in Korakuen Hall on 17th March.

Forget the name Toy Kojima because he is now called To-y! The announcement was put out on short notice but he later explained online that his parents were fans of the manga artist Atsushi Kamijo and a series he made called “To-y”. They loved it so much that he was named Toi/Toy for that reason. So he decided to change his ring name to To-y starting today. For his first match under his new moniker, To-y took on Masato Tanaka. He got a nearfall with the Kojima In Wonderland (not sure if that name will change) but Tanaka won in the end using the Sliding D. To-y took the loss in his stride and said he will continue to evolve and move forward. Tanaka admitted he is jealous of him because To-y is currently one-half of the All Asia Tag Team Champions. Tanaka has never held an All Japan championship in his illustrious career.

On the day when Josh Barnett announced his plans to bring Bloodsport to Japan, DDT just so happened to use the same match environment for their own warped ideas. MAO and Chris Brookes already agreed to make their match reduce countouts down to three seconds but nobody expected the ring ropes to be removed too. It made things clear that both were determined to win the match by Countout. Brookes relied on interference from Masahiro Takanashi and Takeshi Masada but MAO was able to fight off the numbers game and knock Brookes out of the ring for three seconds to win. MAO calls this rule a new era for pro wrestling. It just needs a stupid name to go with it. He came up with calling it the Shimokitazawa No-Rope Death Match.

Shunma Katsumata has lost his two previous singles matches against Kuroshio TOKYO Japan in DDT. He didn’t lose the third match but he didn’t win it either. Instead he and Kuroshio locked each other into a Double Backslide Pin and both got the three count, ending the match in a draw. They argued over the result until the match sponsor handed the prize over to both of them. They seemed happy to share the prize until Kuroshio ran off with it and Katsumata chased after him. If that’s not bad enough, Kuroshio said backstage he prefers baths to saunas.

A magical warrior was summoned to the surface when tensions grew between members of DDT’s sauna club and public bath club. Kazuki Hirata needed a partner to help him defend the sauna club’s honour so out came Naya Tonttu. Fighting against them were Kazusada Higuchi & Makoto Oishi. Both were armed with towels and permitted to use them against their opponents. Unfortunately Naya though the room was too cold and he left Hirata to fight by himself. He would return whenever the room warmed up but it wasn’t enough and Oishi pinned Hirata to win. However Oishi went too far after the match when he talked crap about saunas only to find out the match sponsor has a sauna too. Oishi was given a Choke Slam by Naya and everybody posed over his unconcious body.

Yuya Koroku announced he will return from injury on 17th March.

Toy Kojima No More?! Chika Debut Match, More Title Matches At Grand Princess

5. Hokuoh Presents ~Toy Kojima’s Sauna Room~: Toy Kojima Vs Masato Tanaka
6. KO-D Openweight Title ~Naniwa Kenko Land-Yu Presents Yuki Ueno’s Sauna Room~: Yuki Ueno (c) Vs Danshoku Dieno

History shows every time MAO and Chris Brookes are in the same match together they end up fighting each other out of the ring and a Countout result becomes inevitable. A fed up Yukinori Matsui said changing the countout to ten, five or even three seconds is enough to solve the problem. But when MAO and Brookes heard him say a three second countout they fell in love with the idea and want their match tomorrow to follow that rule. Since The 37KAMIINA are in charge of tomorrow’s show, the rule is going to be used.

Toy Kojima will be wrestling under a new name for his match against Masato Tanaka. He wants to fight against the unknown and change himself because he sees tomorrow as a new beginning for The 37KAMIINA.

Most of the matches will have sponsored prizes on the line given to the winners.

It’s champions versus challengers in a big preview for Sumo Hall one month later! Miyu Yamashita and Ryo Mizunami just had their first match together over the weekend. They were opponents there and this time they are on the same side. Miu Watanabe has to swallow a little bit of her pride because she is teaming with Daisy Monkey, the team that just beat Daydream to win the Max Heart Tournament.

Maki Itoh returns to the ring back in fighting form.

We got the announcement of Kirra and Uta making their debuts soon. Those keeping track may have noticed there is another trainee from that class who seemed to be left out. Well it turns out she is going to debut soon too, even sooner in fact. Chika will have her first match just over a week before Kirra and Uta will. Moka Miyamoto will be her opponent.

This will be Juria Nagano’s final match in Osaka before her graduation from Tokyo Joshi Pro.

2. Princess Tag Team Titles: Ryo Mizunami & Yuki Aino (c) Vs Suzume & Arisu Endo
3. Princess Of Princess Title: Miyu Yamashita (c) Vs Miu Watanabe

After so much struggle, Daisy Monkey are about to finally reach the top of TJPW’s tag division. All they have to do now is beat Yukiniki for the Princess Tag Team Titles. It will be Mizunami & Yuki Aino’s first defence so they will not want to lose the belts so quickly.

A glamorous fight for the International Princess Title has been put together. Yuki Arai was challenged by Yuki Kamifuku, who is looking to become a double champion. Would the IP Title look that nice next to the Queen Of Asia Title?

Heads up, my home internet hasn’t been working all week and I don’t know how long it will take for the problem to be fixed. I’ve been using my phone as a hotspot to write up reports in the meantime but it’s been a slow and unreliable experience. So there might be more delays posting results and other news over the next few days.

2. Special Single Match: Sanshiro Takagi Vs Ken Ohka
3. Special Single Match: KONOSUKE TAKESHITA Vs Yuma Aoyagi
4. KO-D Tag Team Titles: Tetsuya Endo & Yuki Iino (c) Vs Ryuki Honda & Yuma Anzai
5. DDT Extreme Title: Shunma Katsumata (c) Vs Hideki Okatani
6. KO-D Openweight Title: Yuki Ueno (c) Vs X

The last time Shunma Katsumata and Hideki Okatani fought for the Extreme Title, Katsumata won the match but also fractured a bone in his foot. That forced him to vacate the title. Ever since then both he and Okatani dreamed of having a rematch with the same championship on the line. That has now become a reality after Okatani became the No. 1 Contender this week. Katsumata said he will come up with a match stipulation that both of them will approve of.

Tetsuya Endo & Yuki Iino are the new KO-D Tag Team Champions and want to defend the belts against anyone no matter where they come from. Well here comes Ryuki Honda & Yuma Anzai from AJPW! They had fun wrestling in DDT earlier this week that they want to fight in DDT even more and against stronger opponents. Endo & Iino promised to show them just how much depth DDT has.

Before GanPro goes independent, Ken Ohka must fight his soon to be ex-boss Sanshiro Takagi! Ohka feels the need to face Takagi and defeat him in the first step towards making GanPro grow bigger than DDT. For Takagi this is the biggest test he can give Ohka to see if he will handle his upcoming responsibilities with all of his effort. If Ohka does this half-heartedly then Takagi will destroy him and that could mean DDT will destroy GanPro too!

*DAMNATION T.A fails in V1. BURNING becomes the 82nd KO-D Tag Team Champions!
7. Yukio Sakaguchi Retirement Match: HARASHIMA defeated Yukio Sakaguchi with the Somato (15:37).

Today Yukio Sakaguchi brought his pro wrestling career to an end after 12 years in the business. He spent almost the entire time of his wrestling life with DDT. Per his request the period of time between his announcement to the retirement match itself was a short one. He chose HARASHIMA as his final opponent and had his closest conifdents stand in his corner, including KUDO and Saki Akai. The result was obvious but with a little extra added to it. HARASHIMA hit the Somato but took too long to pin Sakaguchi leading to a one count kickout. Sakaguchi yelled at HARASHIMA to hit him with the move again which he did and that got HARASHIMA the 3 count. Yukinori Matsui raised both of their hands after the match and the two wrestlers hugged each other. HARASHIMA thanked Sakaguchi for nominating him as his last opponent. He praised Sakaguchi for always being in great condition and working hard right to the end. He is sad to see him go when he is still strong but understands it is the path Sakaguchi chose for himself. Sakaguchi said he wanted to win but he always knows HARASHIMA is there to protect DDT. He thought he was becoming DDT’s gatekeeper but he is granting that role back to HARASHIMA.

He then received a video message from his younger brother Kenji Sakaguchi. Kenji said Yukio was always into fighting ever since they were children. He thought it took a lot of courage for Yukio to become a second generation pro wrestler but he was able to leave a mark and made a lot of fans happy. The time they stood in the ring together at Sumo Hall is a memory that will last a lifetime. Later backstage Yukio told reporters he also got a rare phonecall from his father Seiji Sakaguchi during the morning.

Yukio then thanked the fans because so many of them came to see his retirement match on a weekday. He is grateful to the fans that supported him. Even though he will now no longer wrestle, there are still the other wrestlers in DDT who do their best and deserve support. The show ended with the locker room throwing Sakaguchi into the air in celebration and him shaking all of their hands afterwards. There was no 10 bell salute because Sakaguchi asked for there not to be one.

The new BURNING team of Tetsuya Endo & Yuki Iino have won the KO-D Tag Team Titles! They defeated their arch enemies in DAMNATION T.A to do it. Daisuke Sasaki & KANON tried using their new Freedom Call tag finisher on Endo but Iino broke the pin. Sasaki then tried pinning Endo with the Sasaki Hurricanrana but he left himself vulnerable to get hit with the Spear from Iino. Endo then took over with the Swivel Torture Rack Bomb and followed up with the Burning Star Press for the title change.

Iino thanked Endo for the success and he now feels like they can go anywhere as the tag champions. They welcome any challenge from any challengers and will not turn anyone down. Those comments made New Period walk down to the ring. The All Japan team of Ryuki Honda & Yuma Anzai beat Takeshi Masada & Rukiya earlier in the show. They enjoyed the match so much it makes them want to take on more stronger DDT teams so they challenged BURNING to a title match. Endo accepted and warned that they are yet to experience the depth of DDT. He & Iino will take them even deeper. The title match will take place at “JUDGEMENT 2024” in Korakuen Hall on 17th March. But before that happens there will be a DDT Vs AJPW 6-Man Tag Match on 6th March. Endo, Iino & Rukiya will face New Period & Ryo Inoue.

On short notice the No. 1 Contender match for the DDT Extreme Title was held under Hardcore rules. Hideki Okatani and MJ Paul brawled in and out of the ring with chairs, garbage cans and kendo sticks. Okatani got the upper hand by Power Bombing Paul from the corner through a table. He then used the chairs to hit Paul with the Mammoth Home Run before using the Quetzalcoatl to slam him on top of more chairs for the win. Okatani said he couldn’t lose today because he needs to fight Shunma Katsumata for the Extreme Title again. He’s been waiting for it to happen ever since their previous title match together. Kasumata was happy to hear that and admitted he’s been thinking of Okatani all this time too. Their title match will happen in Korakuen on 17th March and Katsumata is excited to have a fun match with Okatani under rules both will appreciate.

Ken Ohka got into the ring after the second match to tell the audience in person about Ganbare☆Pro will be going independent from CyberFight at the end of March. But before that happens there is one person Ohka really wants to fight at DDT’s 27th Anniversary show on 17th March. He wants a match with the CyberFight president Sanshiro Takagi! Ohka explained that Takagi is like a father to him and he must defeat his “father” before he leaves the family home! Takagi said this match may be the last time they will be in the ring together because he will be taking a break from being a pro wrestler after July. It is hard work running a wrestling company especially when you do it by yourself but if Ohka is determined then he will do his best. But if he does this half-heartedly then Takagi will destroy him! Ohka promised to beat Takagi and make GanPro bigger than DDT!

A “No Spoiler” show will be held at Tsurumi Fruit & Vegetable Market on 21st April. People attending the show are prohibited from posting about it on social media while it is happening. DDT is also holding a collaborated show with the Zeekstar Tokyo handball team in Sumida from 25th to 27th April.

There will be contract signings for the upcoming KO-D Openweight Title and DDT Universal Title matches held before this show begins.

While heading out to a riverbed one day Hirata confronted Kazusada Higuchi & Makoto Oishi from the Open Bath Club and an argument broke out between them. Hirata found himself outnumbered when all of a sudden somebody who looked like Yukio Naya showed up to protect him. That being is Naya Tonttu, the mythical guardian of the DDT Sauna Club! Hirata convinced him to team up against the Open Bath Club at The 37KAMIINA’s sold out show next week.

Yoshihiko has gotten itself into trouble after getting double booked this weekend. It will be travelling to Europe with MAO to wrestle in France and England. However DDT had also booked Yoshihiko for their show in Nagano this Sunday. It’s too late to change plans so DDT is pulling their other battle doll Akihiro out of storage to take Yoshihiko’s place. The company has strictly warned Yoshihiko not to double book itself like that again. However MAO is defending his friend because their European dates were booked well in advance and MAO has been promoting them online since December so DDT had plenty of time to avoid this scenario.

The DDT Extreme Title picture has a new direction after Shunma Katsumata regained the championship over the weekend and two potential challengers approached him. Hideki Okatani wants to rekindle his rivalry with Katsumata over the title from last year. However MJ Paul has also stepped forward wanting a title shot, even going through the effort to write a letter to declare his challenge. A fight broke out between everyone over the situation so a decision was made to have Okatani and Paul fight each other in a No. 1 Contender’s Match.

TOKYO JOSHI PRO “THE 4TH “FUTARI WA PRINCESS” MAX HEART TOURNAMENT”, 10/02/2024

4. Mizuki Vs Zara Zakher
5. Shoko Nakajima & Hyper Misao Vs Wakana Uehara & HIMAWARI
6. Miyu Yamashita & Toga Vs Ryo Mizunami & Yuki Aino
7. International Princess Title: Yuki Arai (c) Vs Juria Nagano
8. “Futari wa Princess” Max Heart Tournament – Final: Rika Tatsumi & Miu Watanabe Vs Suzume & Arisu Endo

The Max Heart Tournament could get its first two-time winner if Daydream beats Daisy Monkey in the final. The tournament winners usually move on to challenge for the Princess Tag Team Titles and Rika Tatsumi previously made a suggestion that Miu Watanabe can do two title matches at “GRAND PRINCESS ’24”. Watanabe would go along with the idea even if she isn’t super enthusiastic about it. Suzume & Arisu Endo keep finding ways to get shots at the top teams, Daydream included, but it always ends in failure for them. Will this turn out differently?

Juria Nagano is making sure to do as much as she can in the ring before her graduation in April. Her big goal is to win a championship or tournament. She couldn’t do it in the Max Heart Tournament so now she wants to challenge Yuki Arai for the International Princess Title. Nagano sees Arai as a wrestling senpai to surpass rather than some big celebrity.

The next foreign wrestler to enter Tokyo Joshi Pro is Zara Zakher from the California wrestling scene. She is 22 years old and only been wrestling for a year but her talent and potential as a breakout prospect leads her over to TJPW. Mizuki has been selected to be her opponent for her Korakuen Hall debut.

The opening match is going to give either Shino Suzuki or Haru Kazashiro their first singles win.

Ryo Mizunami and Ram Kaichow are both paying a visit here again.

5. ~Mao Inoue’s Sauna Room~: MAO Vs Chris Brookes
6. KO-D Openweight Title ~Yuki Ueno’s Sauna Room~: Yuki Ueno (c) Vs Danshoku Dieno

A request was made by Yuki Ueno to defend the KO-D Openweight Title against Danshoku Dieno. He wanted his next challenger to be the most interesting person in DDT since the championship is more than just about who is the strongest. There is already a singles match between them booked for The 37KAMIINA’s produce show in Shinjuku FACE. To make his point even clearer, Ueno convinced DDT to turn that match into a KO-D Title bout because it does not matter to him where it takes place. This will be the first KO-D Title match held in front of an audience in around 8 years. Dieno warns Ueno that there’s a reason why the company never wants him to win that championship even if he symbolises the spirit of DDT more than anyone else. The entire direction of the KO-D Title will change if Dieno gets his hands on it!

Kazuki Hirata gets to keep his spot on the show despite turning down The 37KAMIINA’s offer to join their unit. He now has his mind set on creating his own stable and he is searching for potential members.
