Today Thunder Rosa relinquished the International Princess Title on a video sent to Tokyo Joshi Pro. Due to the Coronavirus making overseas travel very difficult, Rosa’s scheduled title defences in March and April were both cancelled. With no opportunity to defend the title, Rosa and agreed with management to send the belt back to Japan. Rosa promised she will return to TJPW when it is safe to do so with the intention of winning back the championship. TJPW confirmed that Rosa getting a title match upon her return is of the highest priority. Until then, a new champion will be crowned in an 8-Woman tournament that will end at “WRESTLE PRINCESS” this November.

In order to crown a new champion, TJPW has to renege on the original concept for the title. The title was supposed to draw in challengers from around the world while also revitalizing Tokyo Joshi’s singles division in Japan (Princess Of Princess Title matches are few and far between so it offers something else for the roster to fight over). But since it is very difficult to bring in foreign wrestlers right now, only Japanese wrestlers are able to compete in the tournament. Entrants will be announced as soon as they are picked, taking into consideration the potential card for “WRESTLE PRINCESS”. If somebody on the roster already has a match at the Tokyo Dome City Hall then they won’t be in the tournament.

Last week CIMA got injured in a bicycle accident, leaving him with injuries to his head, neck and hands. He probably won’t take advantage of this in a heinous way. Backstabbing Daisuke Sasaki, sure but not CIMA.

The Junretsu Vs ALL OUT tag is getting a runback. Konosuke Takeshita & Akito are both looking for ways to beat Jun Akiyama. You can’t leave Makoto Oishi out in the cold for this either.

Yesterday, Moeka Haruhi won a trios match against a team of wrestlers connected to each other by the Independent World Jr. Heavyweight Title. This victory inspired Haruhi to challenge Asuka for the title itself.

Ikuto Hidaka was impressed enough with his visit to Ganbare☆Pro yesterday that he wants to continue wrestling here. That’s good because Kouki Iwasaki told everyone he wants to beat him up. The match name makes it sound like Iwasaki is doing this to avenge Ken Ohka’s defeat to Hidaka but I’m not sure if Iwasaki cares enough about that to make it his main motivation.

The annual New Year’s Year tag team tournament held by Big Japan and DDT will go ahead this year but on a smaller scale. In order to prevent exposing fans to the Coronavirus, the event will start earlier in the evening and will only last for around 2 and a half hours. The tournament will be shortened down to 8 teams instead of the usual 16. Sadly that means there won’t be any wrestling going on inside Korakuen Hall when the clock strikes midnight to bring in 2021.

Oh and now Danshoku Dieno is angry that he was booked without being told so he is forming a locker room coup to wage war against Sanshiro Takagi.

After a four hour training course, Matsumoto created her ramen dish and was gifted a 500 yen coin by the chef. Sawa called it a great first step that shows how Gake no Fuchi Joshi can become more and more valuable.

The match name is sort of misleading. Originally Ganbare☆Wrestling began in 2013 and regularly ran shows for the year. It then took a break in the first few months of 2014 to relaunch as a “major sports league” in April of that year. So this match is the 6th Anniversary of the relaunch.

Ganpro celebrates its anniversary with a return to the promotion’s deepest feud. Minoru Fujita and the Tomodachi-gun unit were a thorn in Ken Ohka’s side from 2015 to 2016. Now Fujita has revived it for the special occasion with one of the original members Hagane Shinno (he was wrestling under the name Madoka back then). Keisuke Ishii gets to find out for himself what this unit was like to fight.

The format this time is a three team tournament with each wrestler placed in a team depending on their costume colours. The girls in red and pink are in Team Red, the girls in blue and purple are in Team Blue and the girls in yellow and orange are in Team Yellow.

Each match is worth 2 points for a win and 1 point for a draw. If at the end of the tournament there is a tie for first place then a bonus One Count Fall match will take place featuring one chosen wrestler from each contesting team. A prize will be given to the winning team but it has not been determined yet.

Four teams will enter, one of them being the alliance between Atsushi Onita & Chris Brookes! Onita chose Brookes to be his tag partner after hearing he was a big fan of both himself and explosion death matches.

Ken Ohka, Yumehito Imanari and Yukio Naya will be on the show. Onita has said he will only wrestle Naya if they both make it to the tournament final.

When Shota went on tour in Australia last year he wrestled for a promotion called Pro Wrestling Power in Cairns, Queensland. One of the locals who caught his attention goes by the name of E10. He is coming over to Japan later this month for a tryout in Ganbare☆Wrestling. E10 is 178cm tall, weighs 77kg and his signature moves are the Side Effect and the Frog Splash.

There’s another Australian heading over to Japan soon, this one for DDT. Melbourne high flyer Royce Chambers will be in DDT from 1st to 20th March. His acrobatic moves and matches from Melbourne Championship Wrestling have been getting attention online and impressed the likes of Konosuke Takeshita. DDT is bringing in Chambers on Takeshita’s recommendation. Chambers is 180cm tall, weighs 86kg and has only been wrestling for two years.

Yuni closes out the childhood portion of his wrestling life by facing his career rival Kazuki Hirata.

5. Miyu Yamashita & Yuna Manase defeated Miu Watanabe & Mirai Maiumi when Yamashita pinned Maiumi with a Backward Kick (7:59).

7. Lana Austin, Nodoka Tenma & Yuki Aino defeated Yuka Sakazaki, Mizuki & Mina Shirakawa when Austin pinned Shirakawa with the Hangman DDT (13:59).

The Tokyo Joshi Pro debut of Lana Austin is off to a good start. She pinned Mina Shirakawa in the main event after a Headbutt followed by the Hangman DDT off the ropes. After the match Yuka Sakazaki called Austin into the ring and asked if she wants the Princess Of Princess Title. She pulled the belt away from Austin, asked for a handshake then tried to bite Austin’s hand as a prank.

For Akemi Daredasore’s final match under her current gimmick, she came up with a stipulation that would also get rid of any evil spirits that might have possessed herself and Shoko Nakajima. Why else would Nakajima have given her such a bad ring name to use over the last 30 days? This way Daredasore will return to being Hyper Misao with a completely refreshed spirit. The Setsubun Death Mask Of ONI Match could only be won if a wrestler wore an Oni mask while pinning or submitting their opponent. Also setsubun beans were allowed to be used as weapons. Daredasore chased Nakajima out of the room by throwing the beans at her, then locked the door to trap “the demon” outside. Nakajima was able to get back into the ring, withstand more of Daredasore’s cheating and win the match.

Maki Itoh has figured out why Raku can never win her matches. She has no purpose as a pro wrestler. Itoh has a purpose because when she wins matches, she inspires the fans to go back to their jobs and work even harder even if they hate their jobs so much that they want to die. She asked Raku what her purpose is? Raku said she wants to be like Itoh. She loses so much that she wants to win. Itoh’s advice to Raku is to stop simply wanting to win and start actually winning.

Thunder Rosa will return to Tokyo Joshi in March. Her current dates are the 1st and 8th of March. No word yet on if she will defend the International Princess Title but a challenger will certainly pop up.

4. 3 Way Match: Shoko Nakajima defeated Mizuki and Mahiro Kiryu when Nakajima pinned Kiryu with a Modified Manjigatame (8:16).
5. Natsumi Maki defeated Suzume with the Backlash (7:23).
6. Rika Tatsumi, Nodoka Tenma & Yuki Aino defeated Miyu Yamashita, Yuna Manase & Raku when Tatsumi pinned Raku with the Missile Hip (11:09).

There were a few absences today for various reasons. Some women like Yuka Sakazaki and Maki Itoh were wrestling in England while others like Mina Shirakawa and Thunder Rosa were sick with the flu. Also Miu Watanabe and Mirai Maiumi were busy attending their coming of age ceremonies.

Natsumi Maki spoke about how much fun she had wrestling against Sareee on 4th January. She wants to have another challenging match like that again so she put out a challenge to Miyu Yamashita!

Akemi Daredasore was unmasked during a sequence with Haruna Neko. When Neko handed the mask over to the referee, Daredasore pinned her with La Magistral Cradle. Neko then chased her out of the ring.

Hikari Noa helped Sena Shiori get into Tokyo Joshi Pro. So it was only fitting for her to be Shiori’s first singles opponent.

Yamashita took Watanabe’s place in the show opening Up Up Girls (Pro Wrestling) performance. She lost her positioning and got accidentally kicked by Noa.

More information about Tokyo Joshi’s trip to Tampa Bay this April came out. “TJPW IS COMING TO AMERICA WITH DDT” will feature 14 TJPW wrestlers, 2 DDT wrestlers and several foreign wrestlers as well. Tickets will go on sale tomorrow.

Surprise! Konosuke Takeshita is heading to England in two weeks time! He is going over to wrestle on the “SCHADENFREUDE & FRIENDS” shows taking place in Manchester on the 21st and 22nd January.
