Haru Kazashiro recently turned 15 so this will be her first match as a high school student.

BASARA “BASARA 215 ~KOO~”, 15/04/2023
Shin-Kiba 1st RING

1. Basara Strange Style Jacket Match: FUMA Vs Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi
2. Union MAX Title Next Challenger Match: Isami Kodaka Vs Takumi Tsukamoto

A surprise Union MAX Title change last week has thrown BASARA for a loop. Isami Kodaka wants to get his title back as soon as possible but he isn’t getting an automatic rematch. Takumi Tsukamoto also lost his CCW Canadian Heavyweight Title on the same show so he doesn’t have a claim for the No. 1 Contendership. The two agreed to fight each other and the winner will get a future title shot.

Both FUMA and Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi are claiming to be the No. 1 ranked fighter in the Basara Strange Style Jacket matches. They will face each other to decide who really is No. 1.

Minoru Fujita will be on the show having his first match in BASARA since December.

BASARA “BASARA 216 ~KOO~”, 18/04/2023
Shin-Kiba 1st RING

1. IRON FIST Tag Titles: Takato Nakano & Masato Kamino (c) Vs Lil’ Kraken & Leo Isaka
2. Union MAX Title: Banana Senga (c) Vs SAGAT

The person who is facing Banana Senga for the MAX Title is SAGAT! Both men won singles championships last week, Senga getting the MAX Title and SAGAT getting the CCW Title. Only the MAX Title is on the line here.

Lil’ Kraken & Leo Isaka decided to team with each other because they are both wrestlers from Tochigi. They are immediately facing Aijin Tag for the IRON FIST Tag Titles.

6. Special Challenge Match: Jun Akiyama defeated Takeshi Masada with the Exploder Suplex (11:46).
7. Special 6-Man Tag Match: Yuji Hino, MAO & Makoto Oishi defeated Yukio Naya, Kazusada Higuchi & Yuki Ishida when Hino submitted Ishida with the King Kong Sleeper (15:34).

The final preview matches for “JUDGEMENT 2023” saw the champion team beat their challengers in a trios match. Both Yuji Hino & MAO took the time to rub the result in the faces of Yukio Naya & Kazusada Higuchi respectively. Naya told Hino they will show the best of DDT and heavyweight wrestling when their KO-D Openweight Title match takes place. Hino is looking forward to it but warns Naya that he will beat him. Meanwhile MAO & Higuchi agreed to make their KO-D Tag Team Title match Falls Count Anywhere!

“The Amazing Newcomer” Takeshi Masada was given a singles match against Jun Akiyama as one of his prizes for winning the D GENERATIONS CUP. He tried to use the Samurai Driver ’01 but Akiyama blocked the move and countered it into the Nagata Lock II. Masada reached the ropes to break the hold but was drilled with Knee Strikes until Akiyama finished him off with the Exploder Suplex. After the match Masada said he will be going back to university this spring so he will be travelling between Osaka and Tokyo a lot. However his DDT schedule will not be effected.

Tetsuya Endo’s produce match was a rematch from his debut 12 years ago. Afterwards he asked Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi to do a singles match with him in the future because Endo has never beaten him one on one. Hiroshi agreed but wonders if the match won’t be happening for another 12 years.

Some of the weapons used in Match #4 include a sasumata, a water pistol, balloons, a Singapore cane, tape and the World Omori Title that Soma Takao is currently the champion of. Yukio Sakaguchi taped Keigo Nakamura against the ring post, Gota Ihashi was sent rolling down a nearby hill and Takao got drunk so Kazuki Hirata was left to fight on his own. He got Sakaguchi to strike Toru Owashi with the cane by mistake and tried blocking the cane with his own hand. But Sakaguchi overpowered Hirata and pinned him on the stage with a Penalty Kick.

Wrestlers in the Pheromones Rumble were eliminated when they got their face shoved into Yuki Iino’s backside for five seconds.

5. Spirit Of Ganbare World Openweight Title: Mizuki Watase (c) Vs Shinichiro Tominaga

Mizuki Watase is going into the Spirit Of Ganbare Title match with an injured arm. However he is determined to fight through the pain and has told Daisuke Kiso not to end the match no matter how bad the injury worsens. He is also questioning if Shinichiro Tominaga would behave the same way if he was injured too. Perhaps he would because Tominaga once suffered an ACL injury in Takashimadaira Ward Community Center. Going back to the venue and winning a championship is all the motivation he needs to banish that bad memory.

7. KO-D Openweight Title Next Challenger Decision Match: HARASHIMA Vs Yukio Naya

It is approaching two years since HARASHIMA last fought for the KO-D Openweight Title. The physical belt has changed since then and he would like to hold the new design at least once. He says he is in good enough shape to continue challenging for the championship. He also has a plan in mind to beat Yukio Naya despite having the size disadvantage. Basically big guys like Naya don’t like getting kicked in the face a lot.

ShunMao are still the KO-D Tag Team Champions so they are the ones defending the belts against Yukio Sakaguchi & Hikaru Machida. Meanwhile Bonno Dai Shacho get relegated to the dark match.

2. Kazuki Hirata Produce Match ~ Bring Items Anywhere Falls Count Fair And Square Full Settlement Tag Team Match: Kazuki Hirata, Soma Takao, Gota Ihashi & Keigo Nakamura Vs Toru Owashi & Yukio Sakaguchi
3. Tetsuya Endo Produce Match ~ Shiraishi Castle Love Song: Tetsuya Endo & Keisuke Ishii Vs Akito & Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi

The three wrestlers producing their own matches for the show have come up with their decisions. Tetsuya Endo chose to do a rematch of his debut from 2012. When he teamed with Keisuke Ishii for his first match they lost to Akito & Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi. Now over a decade later Endo wants revenge!

Kazuki Hirata feels indebted to both Toru Owashi and Yukio Sakaguchi so he made this match to show his gratitude for them. He wanted it to be a fair fight and worked out that if he teams with Soma Takao, Gota Ihashi & Keigo Nakamura then both sides will be even. Items brought by the fans are allowed to be used as weapons but Hirata advises everyone not to bring anything too dangerous.

The poor wrestlers entering the Pheromones Rumble are being labelled by the unit as sacrifices.

6. DDT Universal Title: Naruki Doi (c) Vs Tetsuya Endo
7. KO-D Openweight Title: Yuji Hino (c) Vs Winner Of 26/02 Match

The card for DDT’s longest show of the year is about halfway complete. Hisaya Imabayashi decided that Akito must put together another team to try and destroy Pheromones once and for all. Toru Owashi, Hiroshi Yamato & Yusuke Okada are the ones getting drafted into this battle.

Gorgeous Matsuno sent a demand to DDT for the O-40 Title to be reactivated. The championship was vacated by Toru Owashi last October but Matsuno is the person most associated with the prize. DDT accepted the demand and will thrown Matsuno into a match with Makoto Oishi and Shinichiro Kawamatsu to see which man over the age of 40 is the best!

1. Special Single Match: Kazuki Hirata Vs Invisible Man
2. Hardcore Match: MJ Paul Vs Yukio Naya
3. Special Tag Match: HARASHIMA & Hikaru Sato Vs Yukio Sakaguchi & Masahiro Takanashi

While a bulk of the DDT roster will be in America, a few of the others will remain in Japan to hold the fort and run their own show. Given the unusual mix of wrestlers available we’re getting some unique matches going on. Hikaru Sato returns to DDT to team with HARASHIMA against the old Shuten-dōji team of Yukio Sakaguchi & Masahiro Takanashi. There is a Hardcore match between the heavyweights Yukio Naya and MJ Paul. Then most odd of all is Kazuki Hirata challenging The Invisible Man to a fight! It will be the first time The Invisible Man will be in DDT since the Budokan Hall show in 2012!

6b. Re-rematch: Fuminori Abe defeated Isami Kodaka with the Manjigatame (6:15).
*Fuminori Abe wins the right to become Fuminori Abe II.

The final BASARA show of 2022 was produced by Fuminori Abe because it was his last show under contract with the company before he goes freelance next year. The main event was a Battle Royal to grant the winner naming rights for Fuminori Abe II. The match had to be restarted several times because everybody kept immediately knocking each other out of the ring, leaving Abe on his own as the supposed winner. Even when the Battle Royal had a proper finish it was still Abe who won it. So he now gets to be his own successor.

Another one of his ideas was a match that pitted Christmas-gun against Buddhist-gun in a religious battle. Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi, SAGAT & Yasu Urano represented the spirit of Christmas while Abe led Takumi Tsukamoto & Banana Senga into a fight with peaceful intentions. At one point Hiroshi sang Christmas songs to psychologically damage Abe. IT stopped when Abe figured out chanting Buddhist prayers had the same effect on Hiroshi. The two eventually knocked each other out ending the match in a draw. Not that the result matters. BASARA made sure to tell everyone afterwards the match was fictional, just in case anyone found it sacrilegious.

Ninja USA Forces Counter Attack: Ryota Nakatsu, SAGAT, Isami Kodaka, Tsutomu Oosugi, Masato Kamino, Lil’ Kraken, Fuminori Abe & Man Man Kai Kind

The second show was built around a challenge series between the Kung Fu Yoga Allied Forces led by Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi & FUMA against the Ninja USA Forces led by Ryota Nakatsu & SAGAT. 2 points were given for a win and 1 was given for a draw. The series ended in a 5-5 tie after the main event so maybe another challenge will be held again sometime in the future.

The final match had a scroll hanging above the ring and the winning team was whoever could pull it down first. It was not a Ladder match however and there were none to be seen. Everyone piled together for Hiroshi and Nakatsu to climb onto and the two fought beneath the scroll. Hiroshi was knocked off the pile and Nakatsu was able to grab the scroll before falling after him to win the match.

Masato Kamino & Lil’ Kraken missed the memo on the jacket match and came down to the ring wearing swimming costumes instead of martial arts gear.

8. Chouten ~Itadaki~ – Round 1 B Block – 2 Count Rules: Masato Kamino defeated Takumi Tsukamoto with the Lariat (8:38).

The Chouten ~Itadaki~ Quarter Finals are FUMA Vs Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi, Tsutomu Oosugi Vs Fuminori Abe, Masato Kamino Vs Takato Nakano and Isami Kodaka Vs Yasu Urano.

FUMA said he has been waiting to finally fight Hiroshi with all of his might. Hiroshi credits his Judo skill for eliminating the last Chouten winner Minoru Fujita and believes it will also beat his friend in the next round.

Urano thinks the 2 Count Rule was the reason he beat Ryota Nakatsu in the 1st Round. If Urano is lucky enough to beat him then he is lucky enough to win the tournament! His match with Kodaka in Round 2 is under normal 3 Count rules though.

Oosugi and Abe have never been in a singles match against each other before. However Oosugi still hates Abe a lot because of all the times they fought in tag matches. Abe’s jokey behavior pisses him off.

Aijin Tag now have to meet in the next round. Nakano said he will pin Kamino for a 3 Count in 0.1 seconds. Kamino had to ask the ref if he can physically count that fast.

5. IRON FIST Tag Titles: Tsutomu Oosugi & Banana Senga (c) defeated Isami Kodaka & Yuko Miyamoto when Oosugi pinned Kodaka with teh Tsuki no Ishi (19:23).
*V6 for Speed Of Sounds.

Isami Kodaka blamed his team’s loss in the main event over his ring gear. His usual Yankee Two Kenju costume got damaged and when he ordered a replacement costume it came in grey when he asked for them to be black. In hindsight he realized that was a bad sign he & Yuko Miyamoto were going to lose today. Both of them felt nostalgic fighting against Speed Of Sounds again so they are happy with the match despite losing. SOS agrees and would like to fight Yankee Two Kenju again but not often. Like in 20 years time.

At the end of the show Takato Nakano & Masato Kamino came out and challenged SOS for the IRON FIST Tag Titles. SOS pointed out that Aijin Tag has never beaten them before and they’ve failed to win the IRON FIST Tag Titles from them twice, once in each of their title reigns. Nakano understands that but believes he and Kamino will win the next time. Senga appreciated their courage and accepted their challenge as long as they think they can surpass their last match. The title defence will happen on 6th September.

Daiki Shimomura has made it known he wants a shot at the Union MAX Title. He’s been in a lot of singles matches this year for BASARA and they’ve been going well for him. After beating Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi he wants to use this momentum to earn himself a title match.
