1. Yuki Iino defeated Hinata Kasai with a Lariat (7:42).
2. Danshoku Dieno & Yuni defeated Kazuki Hirata & Soma Takao when Yuni pinned Hirata with the Firebird Splash (10:13).
3. Harimao Vs DAMNATION T.A!: Kazusada Higuchi, Naomi Yoshimura & Yuki Ishida defeated Hideki Okatani, MJ Paul & Ilusion when Ishida pinned Ilusion with the Flame Palm (10:41).
4. Jun Akiyama, HARASHIMA & Akito defeated Yukio Naya, Yuya Koroku & Daichi Sato when Akito submitted Koroku with the Goliath Birdeater (11:35).
5. STRANGE LOVE CONNECTION Vs DAMNATION T.A!: MAO & KANON (w/ KIMIHIRO) defeated Daisuke Sasaki & Demus when KANON pinned Demus with the GURU-GURU Driver (12:57).
6. Special 6-Man Tag Match: Chris Brookes, Antonio Honda & Takeshi Masada defeated Yuki Ueno, To-y & Kazuma Sumi when Masada pinned Sumi after the Praying Mantis Bomb from Brookes (19:38).

There are only a few matches left for Takeshi Masada in SCHADENFREUDE International before he leaves but today he showed he still has good teamwork with Chris Brookes & Antonio Honda. The rubber band spot was expanded into trapping The 37KAMIINA & Kazuma Sumi all together so they could have three separate bands all snapped into them at the same time. SCHADENFREUDE then used their teamwork to hit Sumi with Double Thrust Kicks before Brookes dropped him with the Praying Mantis Bomb for the victory. With two matches left in the unit, Masada spoke about how reluctant he is to leave but Honda told him they will always be connected somewhere.

Yuni was convinced by Danshoku Dieno to wear the Danshoku tights over his usual costume. Thankfully he didn’t go all the way into using Dieno’s moveset, instead relying on his own to win their tag match.

I’m Off To Tokyo For 2 Weeks

December 26, 2025

Almost ten years after my last visit to Japan, I’m a day away from flying back out there. Spending the new year in Tokyo and attending Wrestle Kingdom at the Tokyo Dome has been something I’ve wanted to do for over a decade but real life obligations prevented me from ever going through with it. Luckily for me, this time around everything has fallen into place for me to actually do it and the timing of it means I’m going to the biggest Wrestle Kingdom to happen in years. Not only that but the itinerary I’ve put together for this trip has become the mother of all wrestling holidays. Stardom at Sumo Hall? I’m going to that. NOAH in Budokan Hall? I’ll be there. DDT and Tokyo Joshi Pro having their year opening events in Korakuen Hall? You bet I wouldn’t miss that for the world! Add in shows at Shinjuku FACE, Shin-Kiba 1st RING, TOKYO SQUARE In Itabashi and even Ichigaya Chocolate Hall it all ends up with me pretty much speed running all of the famous and infamous Tokyo wrestling venues within a fortnight.

As for what will get posted on this blog while I am gone? I honestly don’t know at the moment. I’m bringing my laptop with me and will at least post the match results when I can but show reports, up to date news and other stuff will likely be put on the wayside until I return home and get some rest. I did a small one for the DDT show I went to in Saitama back in 2016 (which you can read here). Same goes for any end of trip report where I talk about what the experience is like. Worrying about that sort of stuff would only get in the way while I’m trying to enjoy my holiday. What I’ll likely do is tweet about all the shows I’m going to so you might get not non-DDT and non-TJPW related stuff from me on your feeds for the next two weeks.

What I have done in preparation for this trip is take part in a podcast about it. I was invited onto Wrestling Omakase for a massive roundtable covering as many of the shows happening around Wrestle Kingdom and the New Year’s period as we could. My lion’s share of the recording is in Part 1 for the men’s companies where I talk about DDT, NJPW, NOAH and BASARA. Then I pop up for half an hour in Part 2 as part of the TJPW section. Only one of the two debuts planned for Ittenyon is now going ahead. The trainee Shion has taken on the name Shion Kanzaki for her first match. She is from Chiba and was born on 11th February, 2001. She is 156cm tall and was part of her high school’s kendo club. After she graduated from school she formed a band with friends where she was on guitar and vocals. The band split up though and she took on a regular office job until decided to take on pro wrestling because she’s been a fan of it since she was a child.

The other trainee Anri has been pulled from the same match after it was decided she isn’t in the right condition yet to go through with her debut. Both Uta Takami and Ren Konatsu were part of the match too so maybe it can still go ahead as a tag bout with a last minute fill in. Is Ryo Mizunami busy that day?

7. Special 6-Man Tag Match: Yuki Ueno, MAO & Kazusada Higuchi defeated To-y, Kazuma Sumi & Yuki Ishida when MAO pinned Sumi with a School Boy Counter (17:53).

A last minute change to the card created a DNA Vs D GENERATIONS themed main event for DDT’s last visit to Shinjuku FACE for 2025. The veteran side ended up winning the match but offered support to the new blood since the next D GENERATIONS CUP tournament will begin in the new year. They see how hard the D GENERATIONS work together and it makes them want to work even harder just so they won’t get overtaken.

Takeshi Masada has made up his mind to leave SCHADENFREUDE International in the new year but right now he is still part of the group for a couple of more days. He and Chris Brookes were meant to team up today but the decision led to them having a singles match against each other instead. Antonio Honda wasn’t at the show so the ringside attendants like Hinata Kasai participated in the SCHADENFREUDE spots in his absence. Bunbun was there though and in an act that turned out to be more neutral than it looked, he interrupted the rubber band spot by cutting the band in half with a pair of scissors. The band was already stretched by this point so one half each ended up snapping into Brookes and Masada’s faces. Honda’s presence ended up being felt anyway when a voice of his started telling a Gongitsune joke while Brookes and Masada tried replicating the move on each other. Brookes ended up winning the match cleanly with the Praying Mantis Bomb. He told Masada he doesn’t understand why he is leaving SCHADENFREUDE but everyone in the group will always be each other’s family. He encouraged Masada to reach the top of DDT while everyone else cheers him on. Masada said he would like to continue being in the unit because he loves it so much but now is the time for him to go searching for his own style using his own abilities. SCHADENFREUDE will always be family to him and he hopes they will support him now as rivals.

Special rules were created for Match #5 because Akito wanted Danshoku Dieno to restrain himself from giving everyone kisses on Christmas Eve. Akito proposed that the match would ban kisses for the first five minutes then it would be allowed after that. Dieno called the rule unfair so he counter offered that once the ban is lifted, you will need to kiss your opponent before pinning or submitting them in order to win. Akito agreed and almost had his way when Kazuki Hirata nearly lost the match several times in the first five minutes. But he was able to kick out of Jun Akiyama’s pins. He also survived a Boston Crab from HARASHIMA while Akito was too busy tying his own shoelaces to break the hold. The five minutes ran out and with a shout of “Merry Christmas!” from the ring announcer, Dieno was allowed to kiss again. Everyone else now had to kiss their opponent before trying to win the match. Dieno’s counter plan almost backfired because he didn’t want to kiss Sanshiro Takagi even when the opportunity was there for him to win. Takagi ran in to kiss Dieno but missed and got HARASHIMA instead. The same mistake happened to Hinata Kasai but when it looked like it was going to happen to Akiyama, he gave Takagi the Exploder Suplex instead. HARASHIMA forgot about the rule but ended up remembering to kiss Hirata before pinning him with the Somato to win.

Kumadori got a long awaited measure of revenge on Ilusion when their delayed singles match finally took place. Ilusion targeted Kumadori’s legs but when that plan didn’t work he resorted to blatant cheating including a ref bump and a Low Blow. Kumadori blocked Ilusion from using a chair though and gave him a Low Blow of his own before pinning him with a Modified Cancun Tornado for the victory. He considers the feud between them done with and is looking forward to reaching the top next year both as a professional dancer with O-MENZ and as a pro wrestler with DDT. Ilusion said he wanted to beat Kumadori to protect DDT because he is the only person to notice O-MENZ are invading the company. He cannot believe that CyberFight is letting this crisis go unnoticed!

Some last minute changes to tomorrow’s show have taken place due to the aftermath of Sunday’s show. Takeshi Masada has decided to leave SCHADENFREUDE International in order to start fresh for the new year. Before he leaves the unit on 3rd January, he’s going to face Chris Brookes one on one before he says goodbye.

The above match has led to a change in the main event. Brookes and Masada were originally booked for a tag match against Kazusada Higuchi & Yuki Ishida. Now Higuchi and Ishida are moved into the main event but they will be on different teams. Same goes for Yuki Ueno and To-y as well as MAO and Kazuma Sumi.

The problem with having double the championships is you get double the challenges. Yuki Ueno has both Daisuke Sasaki and Chris Brookes wanting to fight him for championships next. Akito came up with a solution to do a 3 Way Match that will last for two falls. The first fall will be for the DDT Universal Title and the second will be for the KO-D Openweight Title!

The time has come for The Apex to try and take back the KO-D Tag Team Titles from Strange Love Connection. SLC won the belts from The Apex last month in Sumo Hall and MAO has been on Yuki Iino’s mind ever since. Yukio Naya and KANON have some singles match history together too.

“NωA JR. FIRST SOLO LIVE” Results

December 23, 2025

“NωA JR. FIRST SOLO LIVE EVE EVE’S MIRACLE ~TO THE BIG STAGE WE’VE ALWAYS DREAMED OF~”, 23/12/2025
Shinjuku LOFT
??? Fans – Unannounced

1. Falls Count Anywhere 8-Man Tag Match: Makoto Oishi, MAO, Yuni & Kazuma Sumi (w/ Shunma Katsumata) defeated Danshoku Dieno, Yuki Ueno, Kazuki Hirata & Antonio Honda when Sumi pinned Dieno with the Misty Flip onto the Chair (7:49).

All the way back in April, Sanshiro Takagi booked Shinjuku LOFT for a concert and challenged NωA Jr. to sell it out. DDT’s attempt at a wrestling idol unit needed a goal to strive for so Takagi made this the first step with possible room to grow all the way towards the group winning the New Artist Award at the next Japan Record Awards. The latter part isn’t going to happen but today’s concert drew a big enough crowd to be considered a success.

NωA Jr. were the headline act of the show but other performances took place to lead up to their big moment. First the three members took part in “To-y’s Room” which was an interview segment hosted by To-y. After that there was a performance by P-manjiken, the band behind Shunma Katsumata’s entrance music. Then when they were done, the band Daisetz took to the stage for a live performance of their own.

With the warm up acts done, it was time for NωA Jr. to begin their performance. They sang their two singles “ωe are the HERO!!” and “New! Wrestling! Idol!” together before splitting off into solo segments. Yuni brought out Makoto Oishi so they could sing “Chankapana” by NEWS as a duet. Kazuma Sumi brought Daisetz back out so he could sing Antonio Honda’s entrance song with him.

Things then took a turn when Danshoku Dieno and Kazuki Hirata crashed the concert! The two had warned beforehand that they were going to pull off a stunt like this and weren’t lying. They suddenly attacked NωA Jr. and Honda decided to join in! Oishi & MAO, who were at the show to reform the original NωA for one night only, came to the rescue and Yuni came up with an idea to hold a wrestling match right away to solve this dispute. The Anti-NωA side then revealed they had a fourth member among them. A masked man appeared and revealed himself to be Yuki Ueno! He put Katsumata in a choke hold while everyone decided to have a Falls Count Anywhere Match.

The dancefloor opened up so all of the wrestlers could fight each other. Dieno went out of control using chairs so Katsumata jumped in to try and stop him. That didn’t work and Dieno gave him the Lip Lock instead. Sumi came to Katsumata’s aid and the two both Super Kicked Dieno. Sumi then used the guardrail to give Dieno the Misty Flip (Sliced Bread #2) onto a pile of chairs on the ground, getting the three count and saving the concert.

With the show nearing its end, everyone got together to sing “Never Give Up☆I LOVE YOU”. Then Katsumata got his solo segment by singing his entrance song “MONSTER”. NωA Jr. went on to finish off their setlist before Katsumata praised Sumi & Yuni for working so hard on the project while he was recovering from injury. He thought today’s concert would be his last but he confirmed to the audience he will be returning to the ring next year to fight alongside his bandmates. Yuni talked about how much of his time this year was spent studying for his exams and it paid off because he will now get into college. Sumi admitted he thought about quitting the project but felt he had to make it a place for himself while Katsumata was injured and Yuni was studying. They all closed out the show by singing their new song “Mikansei NEXT” along with an encore performance of “Never Give Up☆I LOVE YOU” and “Going My ωay!!!!! ~You Are Not Alone~”.

Takechi Finds His Wrestle Kingdom Team, Brookes Challenges ELP For NJPW TV Title

NJPW “SANSEI R&D PRESENTS WRESTLE KINGDOM 20 IN TOKYO DOME – HIROSHI TANAHASHI RETIREMENT”, 01/04/2026
Tokyo Dome

0. NJPW World TV Title: El Phantasmo (c) Vs Chris Brookes
1. NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Titles – Tornado Rambo: Toru Yano, YOH & Master Wato (c) Vs Hirooki Goto, YOSHI-HASHI & Oleg Boltin Vs Ren Narita, SANADA & Yoshinobu Kanemaru Vs Tiger Mask, Togi Makabe & Ryusuke Taguchi Vs Shota Umino, Yuya Uemura & Kaisei Takechi
7. IWGP World Heavyweight Title & IWGP Global Heavyweight Title: KONOSUKE TAKESHITA (c/w) Vs Yota Tsuji (c/g)

Some DDT filled surprises appeared at today’s New Japan show in Korakuen Hall. It was the final NJPW event of 2025 as well as the go home show for “WRESTLE KINGDOM 20” in the Tokyo Dome. The first surprise happened after the opening match. El Phantasmo had just successfully defended the NJPW World TV Title against Ryusuke Taguchi in an open challenge when Christmas music began to play. Santa Claus (looking very Tatsuya Matsumoto shaped) walked down to the ring with a present for ELP. The champion opened it up to reveal Bunbun was inside it! Chris Brookes suddenly appeared in the ring, gave ELP a Low Blow and attacked both Santa as well as Jado the reindeer. Brookes got on the microphone and said even though they are good friends, he has to take an opportunity like this. ELP is always looking for challengers so Brookes is challenging him for the NJPW TV Title at the Tokyo Dome! He gave Phantasmo the Praying Mantis Bomb before telling everyone that things are going to change in 2026, starting with Brookes winning the TV Title.

There was another DDT related appearance a few matches later. The House Of Torture had just won a 10-Man Tag Match in dominating fashion and they continued to beat down their opponents afterwards. Kaisei Takechi unexpectedly got into the ring to try and put a stop to things, receiving some help from Shota Umino & Yuya Uemura to chase them off. When things calmed down, Umino joked if this means Takechi will be showing up at the Tokyo Dome (he’s already booked). Takechi told Umino he always wanted to wrestle him and they could team up with Uemura to enter the Tornado Rambo together. Uemura said it takes more than just looking cool to wrestle in a New Japan ring but if that’s what Takechi wants, he is up for going after the NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Titles with them.

Wins are worth two points, draws are worth one point and no points are rewarded for Double Countouts or No Contests. Head-to-head results will be used as tiebreakers and if that does not work then a playoff will take place to determine the block winner on the same show as the final.

7. KO-D Openweight Title – AXSEED Presents: Yuki Ueno (c) defeated Takeshi Masada with the WR (21:39).
*V4 for Yuki Ueno.

The penultimate DDT title match of 2025 came and went with Yuki Ueno still standing tall as a double singles champion. He put the KO-D Openweight Title on the line against Takeshi Masada who already had an uphill battle going into the show with being a convincing challenger. His big chance came after hitting a combo of Thrust Kick, Flying Knee Strike and a Triangle Kick. With Ueno in trouble, Masada used his finisher the Masada No Chikara KOBU Mukimuki. Ueno kicked out though and made the comeback starting with an Avalanche Frankensteiner. Death by Dropkick came for Masada and Ueno used the WR to finish him off and defend the title.

Ueno gave Masada some encouragement afterwards and told him he has very high hopes that Masada will show a side to him as a pro wrestler that nobody has ever seen before. However even if Masada can one day beat Ueno, Ueno said Masada will never surpass him. Daisuke Sasaki then entered the ring promising not to attack Ueno because he is here on serious business. He wants to challenge Ueno to a title match fair and square. He offered Ueno a handshake only to kick him below the belt. As he went to give Ueno the Pedigree, Chris Brookes ran into the ring to stop him. He then slapped Ueno because he’s also here to demand a title shot. Ueno said he would fight both of them and it doesn’t matter if the KO-D Title or DDT Universal Title will be put on the line. Everyone started arguing with each other until Akito interrupted them. As a CyberFight Director, he had the power to come up with a solution. On 25th January there will be a 3 Way Match between Ueno, Sasaki and Brookes. But the match will last for two falls, the first with the Universal Title on the line and the second will have the KO-D Title on the line! Ueno will need to win both falls if he wants to defend both of his championships. The situation makes Ueno realize how precious both life and pro wrestling are. Sasaki thinks he has good odds of winning both titles because he is a “3 Way Magician”.

Masada also came to a realization after the main event that it is time for him to try something new. He is going to quit SCHADENFREUDE International! He explained to Brookes he’s been stuck repeating the same loop lately and it won’t change unless he steps into a new environment. He needs to free himself in order to enjoy being in DDT. Brookes understood and told Masada he can leave the unit on 3rd January because doing it here right now wouldn’t be a good way to end his membership.

A tricky tag team from outside of DDT was here for Strange Love Connection to try and solve. F-SWAG’s matches have a pace that matches SLC with plenty of fancy teamwork of their own to go along with other antics that can throw the opposition off balance. Jun Masaoka & Gaia Hox almost became the new KO-D Tag Team Champions when they gave MAO the F-DRIVE II but KANON broke the pin. F-SWAG then went to cheat as Gaia Hox hit KANON over the head with a wet floor sign. However KANON turned the tables and got to pin Hox with the LONELY DEZIRES for a successful title defence. SLC enjoyed the match though and told F-SWAG they can come back to DDT again.

SLC are ending the year as tag champs and were talking about what they could look forward to in 2026 when suddenly Yuki Iino walked down to the ring searching around for something. He climbed inside, realized MAO was who he was looking for and then he Speared him! Yukio Naya got into the ring yelling at Iino to stop getting ahead of himself. He explained that ever since The Apex lost the titles to SLC, Iino cannot stop thinking about MAO and keeps saying his name over and over. MAO remembered that Iino previously acted the same way towards Chihiro Hashimoto and realized this means he has now become Iino’s rival. He’s happy to learn that. Both teams agreed that the Survival 3 Way Match at Sumo Hall last month wasn’t enough for them so SLC agreed to face The Apex in a KO-D Tag Titles match on 25th January.

To-y has regained the DDT Extreme Title that he never officially lost. Yasu Urano stole the belt and manipulated his way into behaving like a champion while To-y was tricked into acting like he was now the challenger. The match they had was structured into two minute long rounds where every round the match needed to end with a particular wrestling move randomly picked out of a list of fan suggestions. Round 1 was basic enough because the move was simply to slap the opponent. Round 2 suddenly became difficult when the finisher became the Gorgeous Superstar Elbow. To-y was able to pull off something kind of like the move but it wasn’t similar enough to count. Round 3 gave the advantage to Urano because the move was the Reverse Hold/Backslide Pin. To-y was able to survive into Round 4 where his finisher the Kojima Wonderland was now chosen. He hit the move but couldn’t get the three count with it. Round 5 turned into a challenge because the chosen move was the Referee Brainbuster. Yukinori Matsui needed to Suplex one of the wrestlers but he didn’t have the strength for it. Outside the ring To-y gave Matsui a boost by Kancho poking him into Suplexing Urano. To-y then placed Urano on the top turnbuckle and physically helped Matsui do a Hijack Brainbuster. That counted so To-y pinned Urano for the three count to get his belt back and officially remain champion. He now wants to find an even more extreme kind of wrestling to continue his reign.

Everything’s just going so great for Kaisei Takechi lately, isn’t it? He’s booked for the Tokyo Dome soon, last week he won the Best Newcomer category in the annual Tokyo Sports Awards and today he got to wrestle Yuji Nagata to continue his climb up the pro wrestling industry. Takechi got to team with HARASHIMA in the match while Nagata had Sanshiro Takagi as his partner. That is decades and decades of experience in all sorts for Takechi to learn off of. Takagi dragged him up the aisles so he could then run him over in the Dramatic Dream bike. Back in the ring Nagata unleashed his Middle Kicks and also an Exploder Suplex as his way to toughen up Takechi. But with HARASHIMA’s help Takechi got the upper hand on Takagi and he hit the Swan Dive Forearm to get the victory. Nagata praised Takechi for having guts and he told him to do his best on 4th January. Takechi said he is still a rookie but his passion and determination are unmatched. He still wants more ring time so he asked Takagi if he could get booked for the 25th January Korakuen Hall show. Takagi told him if he’s that willing to immerse himself into wrestling then it shall be done. Backstage Nagata spoke positively about Takechi and how he showed he is more than just good looks. He thinks what will happen to Takechi at the Tokyo Dome will be a valuable experience for him no matter if it turns out positive or negative.

SCHADENFREUDE International wanted to play the hits early in the 3 Way Trios match but Yuki Ishida stopped Antonio Honda from telling a Gongitsune joke. Things then got weird when Shinya Aoki stopped Iino from doing The Apex Elbow by trying to bite his pec for some reason. Brookes & Honda got everyone to form a human pyramid in the ring then Hinata Kasai pulled the rubber band spot on Ishida & Kazusada Higuchi. Brookes found himself in trouble when Higuchi & Naomi Yoshimura chopped him back and forth. SCHADENFREUDE led a train attack (which included Bunbun) on Aoki but it stopped when Honda tripped and hurt his knee. He told his Gongitsune joke and led his team into doing Bionic Elbows but they all missed. Iino went on to pin Kasai with The Apex Elbow while Naya grabbed Aoki and held him up off the mat so he would stop getting in the way.

Kazuki Hirata knew what his fate was going to be today but he wouldn’t let that ruin his last match at Korakuen Hall for the year. He interrupted Toru Owashi’s entrance with his own so he could dance to the ring, unaware that Owashi was so mad he was going to hit him with a chair if Matsui wasn’t there to stop him. Hirata told the rest of the team they should fight DAMNATION T.A like heels so he tried to attack Daisuke Sasaki with a chair only to immediately fall into the Cross Facelock and give up. Hirata then asked if DAMNATION T.A really wanted that to be their last Korakuen match of the year? The question convinced them to restart the match with the other team back to behaving as faces. They did a train attack on Hideki Okatani only for Hirata to miss his charge. When things were going south for them, Hirata unmasked Super Sasadango Machine to reveal heel face paint underneath! He then pulled down the back of Dieno’s tights to also reveal heel face paint on his rear end. Hirata got a face full of it instead of Demus and Ilusion then pinned him with the Swanton Bomb. Sasaki grabbed the chair and hit Dieno in the backside with it afterwards.

Minoru Suzuki was back in DDT looking to fight Jun Akiyama. Despite the two of them starting off the match, Yuya Koroku was quick to tag in. When Suzuki tagged Akito, Koroku knocked him off the apron which set him off. Akito threw Koroku out of the ring so Suzuki could start a brawl with him around ringside with chairs being knocked about everywhere. Akiyama got involved to settle things down and bring the match back into the ring. Koroku had his arm worked over by both of his opponents but used a Waterwheel Drop on Akito to tag in Akiyama. When Koroku got his breath back he tried fighting Suzuki again, using a Wrist-Clutch STO for a nearfall. Suzuki avoided an attempt at the Triangle Lancer and dropped Koroku down with the Gotch-Style Piledriver to get the win.

The dark match was Yuni’s return to action having been away from the ring since August. He started the match off with Daichi Sato and was almost German Suplexed away after Sato caught his Space Rolling Elbow attempt. Tomomitsu Matsunaga took a moment in between hitting Yuni to tell him how jealous he is that Yuni got into Sophia University. He, Sato & Rukiya then targeted Soma Takao who wasn’t in the best condition because of his knee. Yuni & Kazuma Sumi came to the rescue with some high flying moves, allowing Takao to constantly roll up Matsunaga with the Official Endless Waltz until he got the three count.

After the dark match Yuni told the audience he was accepted into university and is looking forward to enjoying his time both there and in pro wrestling. NωA Jr. then wished Takao the best of luck before performing their new single “Mikansei NEXT”.
