As part of Junta Miyawaki’s journey through DDT he wants to try and win the championship that bests represents DDT as a one of a kind company. That means he is going after the DDT Extreme Title. He also now has to prove to Hideki Okatani that he wants to be here and he wasn’t kicked out of NOAH.

DDT “NAGOYA FIGHT FEVER 2025”, 01/06/2025

1. Special Tag Match: HARASHIMA & Yasu Urano defeated Naomi Yoshimura & Yuki Ishida when HARASHIMA pinned Ishida with the Somato (8:54).
2. Thank You Toru Owashi ~ Toru Owashi 20th Anniversary Of DDT Participation Series Vol. 3: Antonio Honda defeated Toru Owashi, Danshoku Dieno and Kazuki Hirata when Honda submitted Hirata with an Ankle Lock (6:58).
3. Akito defeated Yuya Koroku with a Cradle (9:59).
4. Jun Akiyama & Yuni defeated Daichi Sato & Kazuma Sumi when Yuni pinned Sumi with the Messiah DDT (8:46).

Shunma Katsumata’s second straight shot at the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles ended in failure again. DAMNATION T.A attacked The 37KAMIINA from the jump, Daisuke Sasaki hit Katumata with a chair and MJ Paul interfered too. Ilusion did the Swanton Bomb and Hideki Okatani hit the Skewered Claymore but Yuki Ueno & To-y came to their partner’s rescue. The three of them wanted to give Okatani the Everybody’s MADMAX but Sasaki came back with the chair to break them up. From there Okatani gave Katsumata an Avalanche Double Arm Suplex, Sasaki followed up with Diving Elbow Drops and Okatani scored the pin with the Vertical Drop Brainbuster.

After the match Ilusion rubbed salt on his opponent’s wounds by yelling “Fuck!” at Ueno. Then SCHADENFREUDE International walked out to the ring. Takeshi Masada joked that nobody in DAMNATION T.A is good enough to become SCHADENFREUDE’s mascot so now it’s SCHADENFREUDE’s turn to get a title shot. Ilusion pointed out that Masada lost his match earlier and shouldn’t be relying on some weird, shitty and creepy mascot. However Antonio Honda then pointed out that he pinned Ilusion at Korakuen Hall last week so Ilusion would be a chickenshit to turn down the challenge! Ilusion claimed he doesn’t remember that match but DAMNATION T.A will give them the next title shot. It will happen on 5th July.

The two champions are looking strong going at the moment. Chris Brookes & Minoru Suzuki teamed up as the KO-D Openweight Champion and DDT Universal Champion. Brookes’s next challenger Kazusada Higuchi was on the other team and Suzuki didn’t care that he had to fight Yukio Naya instead of Shinya Aoki. While Suzuki dealt with Naya, Brookes tried to put down Higuchi but found himself in danger instead. Suzuki came to the rescue by putting Higuchi in the Sleeper Hold, wearing him down for Brookes to beat him with a High Kick and the Praying Mantis Bomb. Suzuki called Brookes a strong wrestler but warned that as long as he holds the KO-D Title, Suzuki will always be nearby because one championship is not enough for him!

Upcoming KO-D Tag Team Title contenders Akito and Yuya Koroku were pitted against each other so they could test each other’s strength. They spent the match using a lot of grappling and mat work. It was an even contest until Koroku went for the Triangle Lancer. Akito ended up trapping Koroku’s arms in a Cradle and sat down with all of his weight to pin him for the victory. Koroku said he always wanted to wrestle Akito and felt he was able to show his own true self this way. Akito thinks Koroku has the desire to try out a new kind of wrestling. He also thinks they won’t be able to beat Astronauts if they just use normal wrestling. The path that will bring them to victory is to do what they want that is unique. That’s the DDT way.

One of the matches today was put together so everyone could show their appreciation for Toru Owashi. That meant the audience had to cheer and chant for Owashi as hard as they could whenever Kazuki Hirata raised his hand. Owashi didn’t suspect anything at first but caught on to the trick and didn’t appreciate the insincere cheering. So Hirata, Honda & Danshoku Dieno all ganged up on him. But when Dieno went to the corner in the Hell Gate position, Hirata Body Slammed Honda in the middle of the ring and encouraged Owashi to climb the top rope. Owashi did so but Honda then rolled up Hirata and put him in an Ankle Lock to make him tap out. A dumbfounded Owashi stood still on the top rope afterward. Tokyo Joshi Pro decided to try out something new to determine the No. 1 Contender for the Princess Of Princess Title. They put together an 8-Woman Elimination Tag Match with the extra caveat that the match would continue until only one woman was left standing. So if one team defeated the other and still had more than one wrestler left, they would fight each other until only one remained. Over the top rope rules were also in effect and a lot of the eliminations ended up that way. When Maki Itoh and Yuki Kamifuku both found themselves falling over the ropes and onto the apron, Itoh convinced Kamifuku to play a game of Rock Paper Scissors only to kick her to the floor when her guard was down. Pom Harajuku thought she was given a power boost by Yuki Arai but Miu Watanabe made her give up to the Canadian Backbreaker. Jada Stone was the next elimination when she climbed the top rope and Itoh then knocked her to the floor with a Headbutt. Itoh’s reign of terror was then put to an end when Watanabe & Yuki Aino knocked her off the apron with a Double Shoulder Block. Arisu Endo then pulled off a clutch of double eliminations, first using the Mt. Bandai on Watanabe to bounce her out of the ring and then Super Kicking Aino out of the ring to knock the other team out completely.

However the winning team had two people remaining: Arai and Endo. The match continued as a singles bout between them. Endo fought to put Arai in the Camel Clutch but Arai outmaneuvered her and rolled the move into a Full Nelson Buster. Endo tried her hardest to fight back but Arai stunned her with the Rookie Award and scored the pinfall by using the Finally. After the match Arai called Mizuki down to the ring so she could challenge her for the Princess Title face to face. Mizuki said she has seen Arai show many different emotions ever since her pro wrestling debut. She is happy that Arai is challenging her but warns she will show Arai just how heavy the championship is to carry. The title match will take place at “SUMMER SUN PRINCESS ’25” on 21st July. Arai told the Nagoya fans that she has never main evented a wrestling show in a venue as big as Ota Ward Gymnasium before so she wants as many people in Nagoya to come see the show and support TJPW.

Backstage Arai said she was never this close to getting a Princess Title shot before. The belt has always seemed far away from her but today she got a little bit closer to it which makes her happy. She still has a long way to go but that means Mizuki has a long journey to the big show too. Arai wants to do everything she can until then to convince Mizuki that she has gotten strong enough to win the championship at Ota Ward. She admits it is a lot of pressure to say that out loud but she wants to overcome the challenge. Meanwhile Endo is reaching her wit’s end. Every time she has these crucial moments, Yuki Arai is there to beat her. Today proves that her fate is now tied to Arai. Her message to her is go win the Princess Title because then Endo will come out and challenger her for it!

Shoko Nakajima dealt a big blow to Kaya Toribami’s momentum by pinning her in their final prelim match for their upcoming title bout. She almost caused Toribami to get counted out when she hit her with a 619 while Toribami was standing outside the ring. She was able to get back in at 17 but Nakajima immediately gave her the Northern Lights Suplex for the three count. Toribami said she was beaten to a pulp today and Nakajima showed her just how high the wall is to climb. She thinks her mistake was only seeing Nakajima as a champion and not as her senior. So she will now think about how she can win. Nakajima said that ever since the MLW Women’s World Featherweight Title match was announced she spent a lot of time thinking about Toribami. The positive to that was she got to enjoy wrestling their three prelim matches to the fullest. Her advice to Toribami is to do her best and dream of winning.

The debuting Ren Konatsu got to face her idol Suzume to kick off the show. She showed some agility by doing a leap frog as well as a Diving Somersault but it was the Dropkick that she used most to try and get anything on her opponent. Suzume got her to submit to a Crucifix Headscissors hold called the Hachinosu Eight Knot. She gave the new rookie a hug for her efforts after the match. Konatsu said when the match was over she was so relieved that tears filled her eyes. When she watches the match back she’ll see what she could have done better but in the moment it was fun for her. Her goal at the moment is to wrestle overseas. Suzume was happy because her start in wrestling was very similar. There is somebody in TJPW she wanted to be like and she became a pro wrestler because of it. That kind of admiration and determination are the most important things in life to her so to meet someone who looks up to her and joined TJPW feels like her dream has come true. She still has more goals to achieve so she and Konatsu can pursue their dreams together from now on.

An injury report was given out by Tokyo Joshi Pro today for three of their wrestlers. Hyper Misao’s arm injury has been revealed to be ligament damage in her right elbow and she will remain out of action until late June. Haruna Neko picked up another knee injury and will miss this weekend’s shows. She is currently having it examined so TJPW will give an update once her diagnosis is known.

Kira Summer has a thigh injury and will be resting for another 4 weeks. Her Tokyo Princess Cup qualifier match with Wakana Uehara that was meant to happen on Saturday is postponed until she returns. However if she is still not cleared to wrestle by late June she may have to forfeit the match.

Parts of the undercard for Saturday’s show has been changed because of Neko and Summer’s injuries. There is now one less match and Uehara takes Neko’s place in Match #2.

The trainee Konatsu will now go by the name Ren Konatsu for her debut. She was born in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka on 26th May 2001 and is 153cm tall. She was originally an SKE48 fan and started watching TJPW to follow Yuki Arai. However it was Suzume who inspired Konatsu to try wrestling out for herself so Suzume gets to be her very first opponent.

A shootfight style ruleset is being tried out by Ganbare☆Pro for Match #4. The GanPro Ultimate Rules can be won by knockout, submission or referee stoppage. There are no rope breaks and moves involving use of the ropes or corners are prohibited. Also double team moves and tag partners breaking up the opponent’s holds are not allowed. Should a grounded fighter position himself onto the ring apron the referee will shout “Don’t Move” and the match will pause for the wrestlers to reposition themselves over to the centre of the ring. Intentional fouls are an immediate disqualification while non-serious fouls result in a warning. Two warnings will result in a disqualification. Given the fighting styles of Shuichiro Katsumura, Takuya Wada, Tyson Maeguchi and Thanomsak Toba they should all adapt to the rules no problem.

Today was MAO’s final block match in the Best Of The Super Juniors tournament. He was able to beat SHO using everything he learned in DDT throughout his career and finished tied for first in his block with 12 points. However due to head-to-head tiebreakers he did not qualify for the final. I will write a full report for his tour with New Japan next week. Next week he comes back home to rejoin KANON and fight some old friends.

The rules for the Lumberjack Pool Crocodile Match have not been explained yet. Not even those in charge of DDT knows what it’s going to be.

The next match in Toru Owashi’s 20th Anniversary series is a partial reunion of DISASTER BOX! He will be in the same match as HARASHIMA, Yuki Ueno and Kazuki Hirata. Sadly Naomi Yoshimura will not be in attendance to complete the reunion.

Now that Danshoku Dieno is done with being a Strong Style wrestler, he’ll have to find his strength somewhere else to fight four opponents at once.

The Preliminary League for this year’s Tokyo Princess Cup begins with two opening round qualifying matches. Mahiro Kiryu, Moka Miyamoto, Wakana Uehara and Kira Summer are the first four up. Two go through, two go out.

Both Yuki Kamifuku and Raku will be missing the show because they will be wrestling overseas that weekend. Kamifuku will be in Singapore for SPW while Raku is in Thailand for SETUP.

Only Akito & Yuya Koroku seemed to have noticed the title’s absence from DDT. They also enjoyed teaming up together over the weekend and would like to continue doing that so they’re going to challenge Fuminori Abe & Takuya Nomura to bring the titles back home.

Suzuki is done fighting the likes of Yoshihiko and Danshoku Dieno. He will be happy if the Aoki facing him is the real deal and not somebody who has succumbed to DDT’s silliness.

Haruto Sakuraba will be on the show taking part in his second wrestling match. He is specifically targeting KANON with the goal of destroying him for good so KANON will never get in DAMNATION T.A’s way again.

Wrestlers are knocked out of the match by pinfall, submission or being thrown over the top rope to the floor. If the winning team has more than one wrestler remaining then the match will continue as a singles, 3 Way or 4 Way elimination match with the partners now facing each other as opponents. As the match name says, last one standing becomes the winner and earns the right to face Mizuki for the Princess Title. The eight participants have been selected but the two teams have not been determined yet.

She’s happy a match like this is happening because it gives Toribami a chance to reach the potential Nakajima knows she has. With that being said, Nakajima is closely holding onto the MLW Women’s Title because it is currently her ticket to wrestle in America more often.

The singles match between Maki Itoh and Uta Takami is going to mean a lot to Takami. She tweeted about the time she was a trainee and took an Elbow Strike from Itoh for the first time. She would never forget the pain. Then when Takami got to wrestle Itoh for the first time back in January she hit her with an Elbow Strike using all of her heart. However Itoh hit back with an Elbow Strike using all of her soul. They then had a singles match at the Garafes show in March where Takami felt like she couldn’t do anything against Itoh. It was the most depressed she ever felt so with this rematch coming up she is going to put all of her soul into it.

The two current holders of Asian championships are teaming up on this show. Yuki Kamifuku recently lost the VPW Women’s Title but still has the Queen Of Asia Title in her possession while Raku is currently the SETUP All Asia Women’s Champion.

Hyper Misao is still out of action with the right hand injury she suffered last week.

A special memorial show for the late Katsuji Nagashima will be taking place later this month. DDT, New Japan, GLEAT and Ganbare☆Pro along with the Battle News website will hold the show at the rooftop of the Yodobashi HD Ikebukuro Building in Tokyo to pay tribute to the Heisei era’s pro wrestling mastermind who passed away back in February. Admission to the event is free although visitors are encouraged to leave a donation at the reception desk with all of the funds minus the minimum expenses being donated to his widow.

The DDT match of the show will be the final match for New World Japan, the nWo Japan parody that Sanshiro Takagi put together in 2012 that included Nagashima as the unit’s backer. The GLEAT match includes Katsuhiko Nakajima who had his debut match in Wrestle Japan, the company that Nagashima helped launch after he left NJPW. The other wrestlers in the match El Lindaman, Minoru Tanaka and Yumehito Imanari also had connections with Nagashima when he was alive.

Yuji Nagata will be at the event as one of the guests for a talk show segment being held in between the two matches. Also former AKB48 idol Chisato Nakata will be the special ring announcer for the event. She was a radio host with Nakajima for over two years on a show called Avalanche Brainbuster Radio.

So how are the semi finals shaking out? Kazusada Higuchi and Yuki Ueno are both trying to climb back to the top of DDT. Higuchi’s run has been presenting him as being completely recovered from his injuries while Ueno has a specific vision of DDT in mind that he feels only he can lead. Meanwhile KANON has a grudge match with Hideki Okatani. It was Okatani who helped DAMNATION T.A kick KANON out of the unit as his replacement and the new mean streak has served him well ever since. KANON found a new path to change the error of his ways but a chance at revenge might briefly turn him back into a psychopath.

Round 2 for King Of DDT takes place this Saturday with eight wrestlers being whittled down to four. DAMNATION T.A have a chance to fill up half of the semi-finals if Daisuke Sasaki and Hideki Okatani both win their matches. HARASHIMA hardly broke a sweat in his 1st Round match though and Yuki Ueno is feeling pretty motivated to climb back to the top of DDT too. KANON is calling himself the “Yukio Naya Killer” because Naya has never beaten him in their previous singles matches. That also leaves Kazusada Higuchi and Takeshi Masada fighting each other over one of the remaining spots.

When Round 2 has been completed a lottery will be held to pair off the semi-final matches.

The Beer Garden show will also begin DDT’s celebration of Toru Owashi wrestling on their shows for 20 years. He first showed up on DDT’s doorstep in 2005 and he’s been working with the company almost ever since, save for a year long hiatus he took from wrestling in 2011.

They had a regular spot where she would submit Ohka with a Headscissors and boy did writing about that in my show reports at the time result in some readers searching my site hoping to find similar fetish wrestling content. WordPress kept track of the search terms back then you perverts!

Oh, also The Great Sasuke and Kyoko Inoue will be on the show too.

Suzume will earn her 4th defence if she wins this match and that’s about the level her kind of IP Title reign usually reaches.

Jada Stone is advertised for the show. Yesterday she vaguely tweeted “Sadly, All Good Things Must Come To An End…” along with a highlight video of herself. So she’s making it sound like she’s either about to call it quits or she just got signed somewhere.

The “TJPW INSPIRATION” show is being brought back for Tokyo Joshi Pro’s first event at the new TOKYO SQUARE In Itabashi venue. The main event sees the two strongest TJPW wrestlers currently in Japan taking on the two youngest members of the roster. The youthful energy of Daisy Monkey will be pitted against the combination of years old wisdom plus earnestness found in Gabai Ji-chan & Mahiro Kiryu.

Plus Hasegawa gets two special matches with special guests involved. The main one is a tag match with against Tae Honma & Miyuki Takase bringing back memories of Actwres girl’z for the three of them. But also there will be a short exhibition match against Ai Shimizu, who has not wrestled since 2017. The two of them once starred in a wrestling themed play together back when they were both actresses and Shimizu was already gone from the wrestling business by the time Hasegawa debuted so they never got to be in the ring together. Hasegawa wanted it to happen so she came up with the idea to do an exhibition match and convinced Shimizu to do it.

This was already announced but I forgot to write about it in the news section until now. Mizuki Watase wants to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of his debut match by fighting Jun Kasai with Lighttubes. He’s a nutjob.

1. It’s the 1998 Class All Gathered Together!: Yuki Arai, Moka Miyamoto & Haruna Neko defeated Suzume, Arisu Endo & Shino Suzuki when Arai pinned Suzuki with the Finally (8:30).
2. Graduation Memorial Battle Royal Full Of Yuki Arai: Raku defeated Pom Harajuku with a Backslide Pin (9:10).
Order Of Elimination: Yuki Kamifuku, Mahiro Kiryu, Hyper Misao, Miyu Yamashita, Raku.

3. This Is TJPW Special 6-Woman Tag Match: Mizuki, Rika Tatsumi & Shoko Nakajima Vs Maki Itoh, Miu Watanabe & Yuki Aino ended in a Time Limit Draw (15:00).

Yuki Arai’s singing career with SKE48 has now come to an end after she graduated from the idol unit today. She wrestled on the first match of the show with the rest of the 1998 Class so she could get ready to perform her final concert at the second half of the event. It was a full blown SKE48 concert with members past and present all showing up to sing with Arai. For the finale Arai dedicated her last song to SKE48, Tokyo Joshi Pro and her fans. After the show she thanked TJPW for putting together such a wonderful venue and event. She is also gracious to the other members of her unit which she will keep in mind as she now focuses on her pro wrestling careers. She thinks her dual career went by in a flash yet she now can’t remember what her life was like before she started wrestling. If it wasn’t for wrestling she thinks she would still be in the entertainment industry after graduation but she is grateful to have found something that excites her just as much as SKE48.

There was a Battle Royal full of Yuki Arai’s on the undercard. It was done Rumble style with every entrant walking out wearing one of Arai’s previous costumes. Former SKE48 idol Shiori Aoki also appeared as the special guest referee. Everyone tried to imitate Arai in one way or another. Raku used one of her catchphrases, Yuki Kamifuku introduced herself as “Big Yuki”, Hyper Misao wanted to be called Shin Yuki Arai, Mahiro Kiryu tried her best to do the Finally kick, Pom Harajuku called herself the best Arai and Miyu Yamashita made the others laugh with her attempted impersonation. Yamashita took her anger out on everyone but in the end Raku was the last Yuki Arai left standing.
