2. Suzume & Arisu Endo defeated Moka Miyamoto & Kaya Toribami when Suzume pinned Toribami with the Ring A Bell (13:11).
3. Gabai Ji-chan defeated Mahiro Kiryu with an Inside Cradle (9:11).
4. Fluorescent Lighttube Death Match: Sawyer Wreck defeated Hikari Noa with the Choke Slam onto Lighttubes (11:01).

Thanks to the existence of the “TJPW INSPIRATION” shows, Hikari Noa gets to live her dream of doing deathmatches. She did one already once before but her second go raised the level by a lot because it contained lighttubes! It is an environment that her opponent Sawyer Wreck is more used to and it showed with her throwing Noa into the lighttubes attached to the ropes. Noa’s back got cut up from being slammed but she got to smash a few lighttubes over Wreck in return. Wreck won in the end by Choke Slamming Noa onto a bundle. Noa admitted the pain turned out to be more than she imagined but she still had fun because she got to do what she loved in front of everyone she cares about. She wants to another death match and next time she wants it to involve barbed wire!

Mahiro Kiryu found herself in an awkward position because her opponent was Gabai Ji-chan. Every time she attacked her opponent she got booed by the fans because she was beating up the elderly. It didn’t help that Ji-chan stepped into the gap between the entrance ramp and wrestling ring during his entrance, needing more help to get in. Everyone also discovered that Ji-chan’s slow movements come from his walking stick. When Kiryu held onto it, her body suddenly changed to that of a senior citizen. The same happened to Daisuke Kiso which resulted in him giving the slowest count when Kiryu pinned Ji-chan. It was long enough for Ji-chan to kick out and when he caught Kiryu in an Inside Cradle, Kiso gave a fast three count. Backstage Ji-chan approached Kiryu and suggested they go fight for a championship together. She didn’t understand what he meant so she went home instead.

Daisy Monkey were victorious against Moka Miyamoto & Kaya Toribami in a tag team match. Toribami put Suzume in the Bird Cage submission but it was countered into a Modified Neck Lock that Miyamoto had to break it up. Arisu Endo took out Miyamoto with the Waterwheel Drop and Suzume ended up pinning Toribami with the Ring A Bell.

A rookie showcase between HIMAWARI and Toga opened up the show. Toga tried to work her opponent’s leg but it was HIMAWARI who locked on a Half Crab Hold to make her submit.

The opening speech took place with Sayuri Namba joined by Shino Suzuki. The two of them ran down each of the matches then Namba tried to get Suzuki to sing for everyone because there was no Up Up Girls performance booked.

The challengers for the KO-D Tag Team Titles showed their confidence in very different ways during a press conference today. Her first match in TJPW is happening on 29th April but a few days later she will get to face Hikari Noa in a Death Match! What kind of Death Match will be announced on a later date.

One year ago The 37KAMIINA held their first self produced show. It was a success so one year later they did it again. The four members of the unit still in Japan all came up with their own ideas for matches to fill up the card but the main event was a mystery until it began. The missing member of the group Konosuke Takeshita was somehow able to speak from the heavens and declared that he will come up with the rules for the main event. What he wanted to see depended on how hot the match would get. At first he asked for a 4 Way Match but after an exchange between MAO and Shunma Katsumata took place he then wondered what a singles match between ShunMao would look like. After a few minutes of that he then noticed Yuki Ueno and Toi Kojima were cooling off so they should do a singles match too. Just when Ueno was about to win, Takeshita changed his mind and said it was now a tag match between Ueno & MAO against Katsumata & Kojima. He also told them there is now a special rule that you can only tag in and out by kissing each other! He then said was only joking. He continued changing the rules turning the match into a 3 Vs 1 Handicap with everyone against Katsumata, then turning that into a Hardcore 4 Way before finally settling on a 4 Way Survival Match with 2 Count Pins and Battle Royal style eliminations in effect. When the dust finally settled it was the most junior member of the unit Kojima who was the winner! Kojima was so happy to win because today is the first time he could hear the fans chanting his name for a victory. He told the rest of The 37KAMIINA they should do a third show like this in the future.

Takeshita was part of the show in body as well as spirit. Well kind of. Akito was supposed to team with Sakura Hirota and Hirota walked out in a full bodsuit Takeshita costume! Her mimickry was so convincing that Tetsuya Endo wanted to start the match against “Takeshita” instead of Akito. They proceeded to do a back and forth that was very similar to a section of the Takeshita Vs MJF match from AEW last week. Akito provided some assistance so “Takeshita” could give Endo & Kazuki Hirata a Double German Suplex. “Takeshita” then wanted to do the Zahi but it came off looking more like the Jumping Knee. Either way, it was enough to pin Hirata for the three count. After the match Akito thanked “Takeshita” for coming back to America just to do this match. Endo also shook “Takeshita’s” hand finally putting their heated rivalry to rest. That counts, right?

Most of the undercard featured at least one member of The 37KAMIINA involved in it. Kojima had a singles match against Yasu Urano that turned out to be way more heated than it looked on paper. Urano attacked Kojima behind the curtain before he could even make his entrance and attacked him around ringside. Kojima fought back, even leaving Urano with a shiner over his right eye. He tried to use Cradle moves to pin Urano but his Hurricanrana was used against him. Urano ended up rolling back on top of Kojima out of that move to get the pin.

Ueno’s match was a 2-On-1 Handicap contest against the elderly. Gorgeous Matsuno picked a fight with Ueno in the leadup to the show and said he knew somebody who wanted to fight Ueno even more. It turned out to be Gabai Ji-chan. At first Ueno easily fought them off until he had the temerity to cuss out Ji-chan for being an old man. That made Ji-chan drop his cane and proceed to wrestle at a fast pace. Ueno couldn’t keep up until he gave the cane back to Ji-chan, regressing him back to his elderly state. The cane was passed around, turning whoever held it into an old person. When Matsui was given the cane, it made him count pinfalls slower than Joe Higuchi. Matsuno put Ueno in a Sleeper Hold and held him down, offering to sacrifice himself so Ji-chan could hit the Swanton Bomb onto both of them. Ueno escaped anyway and Matsuno took the entire move. Ueno then pinned him for the win. Despite the loss, Matsuno & Ji-chan congratulated Ueno for winning so their little grudge is now settled.

ShunMao’s match was a Men’s Club style 4 Way Tag Match with Men’s Teioh himself involved as the referee. The other three teams were CDK, Speed Of Sounds and Makoto Oishi & Shiori Asahi. All teams tried to one up each other with tricky Men’s Club spots in between their usual moves. Teioh ended up getting caught in the crossfire and got hit by Oishi. Teioh took his anger out on him and helped ShunMao get the win over him.

The four wrestlers in today’s D GENERATIONS CUP matches all finish their runs with no chance of making the final. Keigo Nakamura had a slim chance depending on other results but Yuki Ishida killed off any hope of that happening by beating him. Ilusion also finally got to win a block match in his very last bout of the group. That result means Kazuma Sumi ends the tournament with 0 points. He is the only one to not win a match.

The mystery man Gorgeous Matsuno warned Yuki Ueno about has been revealed. It’s… Gabai Ji-chan? Are we sure Ueno is the one fighting against the odds in this match and not his elderly opponents?

Keigo Nakamura has a chance to take the lead in the D GENERATIONS CUP B Block. Yuki Ishida already lost his first match and cannot afford to lose another. Over in the A Block Kazuma Sumi will try to avoid ending his tournament with three defeats in a row. Ilusion’s next match is happening on 11th February so where he stands on the 14th will be very different depending if he wins or loses that match. He may be fighting for the top spot or his match with Sumi could end up becoming the wooden spoon match of their group.

A bunch of sauna related brands are sponsoring many of the matches on the show. The winners of each sponsored match will receive a prize such as free sauna passes and branded clothing.

The match promised for the Tokyo Joshi Pro show in Tampa back in 2020 will now happen in Los Angeles. Konosuke Takeshita and Yuki Ueno gave DDT fans a taster of what they could do in their 10 minute draw last month. Fans attending the show will get to see the whole thing!

1. Falls Count Anywhere 4 Way Tag Match: Gorgeous Matsuno & Gabai Ji-chan defeated Shinya Aoki & Makoto Oishi, Konosuke Takeshita & Shunma Katsumata and Chris Brookes & Mike Bailey when Gabai Ji-chan pinned Katsumata with an Avalanche Choke Slam from a ladder through a table (26:41).

Everything’s falling off a cliff so DDT went and did a pro wrestling match inside a medical clinic during the Coronavirus outbreak. Add this one to the list of just what in life is reality in 2020?

The wrestlers all made sure to follow procedure and keep themselves sanitized before the match. Hands were washed, temperatures were checked and everybody was cleared to compete as long as they wore the medical masks.

The match began on the 1st Floor. Gorgeous Matsuno began singing until Konosuke Takeshita attacked him. Gabai Ji-chan choked Mike Bailey with his walking stick. Shunma Katsumata hit Makoto Oishi over the head with a board. Chris Brookes, Takeshita and Bailey then dropped Oishi crotch first over a signboard. Katsumata and Oishi found a bigger board and broke it over Bailey’s head.

Ji-chan wanted to move outside so he walked out with everyone following him. The wrestlers put each other in a Headscissors chain along the road. Ji-chan tried to roll everyone over but was too weak to give Oishi the Crab Hold.

The action moved up to the 2nd Floor where the clinic staff were busy working. Ji-chan tried to give Oishi a Power Bomb but Shinya Aoki put him in a Sleeper Hold to stop him.

Music began playing and Matsuno sang again. His song told people to stay at home, avoid crowds and wash their hands. He even used signs to get his point across. Takeshita attacked him with the signs but Matsuno would not stop singing.

In the conference room, Brookes & Bailey attacked Katsumata with different equipment lying around. Brookes gave Katsumata a Codebreaker then held him in place for Bailey to hit a Moonsault Double Knee Drop on top of them.

Brookes & Bailey then attacked Oishi by pinching his nipples. They put Oishi in a Figure 4 Leg Lock and Katsumata stuck plasters over Oishi’s mouth.

Takeshita dragged Matsuno up to the rooftop and tried to throw him over the fence onto the street below. Ji-chan used the fence to do the Old School on Brookes and Oishi.

In the attic, Oishi found a mini ladder to climb. He jumped off it but Brookes caught him and lifted him head first into the ceiling, breaking a piece of the tiles.

 

Back on the rooftop Katsumata climbed up the hut and dove onto everyone below.

Takeshita gave Aoki a Suplex through a plastic table.

Katsumata found another table and placed it next to a ladder. He placed Matsuno on the table then climbed the ladder. Ji-chan poked Katsumata in the rear with his cane, climbed the mini ladder next to the regular ladder and Choke Slammed Katsumata through the table!

Ji-chan jumped on top of Katsumata for the three count. The wrestlers thanked the clinic managers for letting them do the match. Aoki said DDT should do a wrestling show in Sayama, Saitama some day for the clinic staff.

Who knows how much of this will stick in the next few days. I’m writing this while hearing the Olympics are likely to get postponed until next year. If that’s going down then no way does the pro wrestling schedule in Japan for the rest of the year remain unscathed.

2. NC-18 Fictional Novels Death Match: Hiroshi Yamato defeated Antonio Honda by Knockout (16:18).
3. Hardcore 6-Man Tag Match: Soma Takao, Mad Paulie & Gabai Ji-chan defeated Hoshitango, Keisuke Ishii & Shota when Takao pinned Shota with a Diving Foot Stomp onto a chair (11:48).
4. 3 Way Match – Special 2 Count Rules For Shimatani: Nobuhiro Shimatani defeated Tetsuya Endo and Shuji Ishikawa when Shimatani pinned Endo with a Crucifix Pin (15:02).

The main event saw a hugh upset when Nobuhiro Shimatani defeated Tetsuya Endo and Shuji Ishikawa in a 3 Way Match! Well he was allowed a small advantage of only needing a two count to pin either of his opponents. Ishikawa threw the litte guy around easily. At one point outside the ring he dragged Nobu across a venue counter with the Giant Swing. Ishikawa and Endo wound up focusing just on each other back in the ring. Shimatani chose his spots and was able to give Ishikawa a Brainbuster. He got drilled with a Fire Thunder and looked to be out of it. However Shimatani reappeared after Endo hit the Shooting Star Press on Ishikawa. Shimatani scrambled with Endo and caught him in a Crucifix Pin to get the 2 count victory!

Shimatani got on the microphone and excitedly made some demands for winning. He wanted Endo to be his manager, Mad Paulie to be his pet and Soma Takao to carry around the DAMNATION signboard from now on. Daisuke Sasaki got into the ring and scolded Shimatani for acting rebellious. Ishikawa asked if he could sing because he, Paulie and Endo practiced all day. Sasaki cut them off but let them continue when the fans called for an encore. When the song ended Sasaki announced that Shimatani has been promoted from DAMNATION’s temporary manager to a full time manager! However he is still just a temporary member of the unit. Shimatani was overjoyed by the news and celebrated with the rest of DAMNATION over drinks.

The Hardcore 6-Man Tag started off a little casually. Mad Paulie took out a fork not to use as a weapon but to eat other people’s food while he walked through the crowd. Gabai Ji-chan took so long to walk to the ring in his old age that Shota decided to charge at him instead. Keisuke Ishii waited in the ring for Ji-chan to come in while everyone else brawled with each other around ringside. Ji-chan in particular took a lot of punishment in the match. At one point Hoshitango, Ishii & Shota all ganged up on him. Ji-chan fought them off with the help of Paulie. They then piled a bunch of chairs on top of Shota for Soma Takao to Double Stomp onto for the finish. Takao, Paulie & Ji-chan then sat on the chairs and drank some beer to celebrate a job well done.

Here were the rules for Antonio Honda Vs Hiroshi Yamato. Whenever a one of them pinned the other for two seconds, the match would pause and the wrestler would have to read lines from an erotic novel. If the opponent gets an erection he would lose a point. First wrestler to get an erection three times would be declared the loser. The match went down to the wire with two erections each. Honda pinned Yamato with La Magistral Cradle and began reading the erotica certain of victory. Instead Honda’s story gave himself an erection and Yamato became the winner.

By request of the wrestlers, the Last Man Standing match was turned into a boxing match with a bunch of extra rules applied. Every round lasted 15 seconds. After every round a toy crocodile game was brought into the ring and they had to stick their finger in the crocodile’s mouth. If it bites then both they would have to take a shot of whiskey. If it doesn’t then they drank a glass of beer instead. Sasaki and Takanashi got more drunk as the match progressed and the match quality dropped along with it. Yukinori Matsui was convinced to join in drinking during the later rounds. The match was declared a draw after 15 rounds. Sasaki demanded extra 15 rounds and Takanashi agreed to it. In the 6th round Takanashi hugged Sasaki before hitting the Takatonic. Sasaki couldn’t answer the 10 count so a knockout was declared. Takanashi won the match but Sasaki got a few more drinks in him with Matsui and Keigo Nakamura.

Endo, Ishikawa and Shimatani challenged each other to beer selling race at the start of the show. Endo won, Ishikawa finished second and Shimatani last. This was when Shimatani announced he would get the 2 count rule in the main event even though he didn’t tell this to anyone beforehand. Ishikawa accepted only because he wanted something to make the match more challenging.

The Moonlight Express were joined by Asuka for their turn in charge of Beer Garden week. Facing them was the alliance of good and evil that is Jiro Kuroshio and The Brahman Brothers. Kuroshio was convinced to go along with the Brahmans’ antics including throwing the bowling ball into the suitcase that was pinning Asuka and the Express in the corner. There was brawling all over the venue but Mike Bailey was brought into the ring to get a stake hammered up his backside with a traffic sign. Asuka turned the tables and landed a Moonsault onto Brahman Shu. But Kuroshio blinded MAO with powder and the Brahmans used their double team moves on him. MAO did his best to stay in the match but he was blinded again this time when Kuroshio spat ink in his eyes. This time Kuroshio and the Brahmans all cradled MAO together in a triple pin to get the three count.

The Brahmans celebrated their victory. Brahman Kei told the Express that their loss means they shouldn’t book a Beer Garden show again next year. Instead Gorgeous Matsuno should get the gig and sing for three hours! Bailey consoled MAO who was scared at the thought of hearing Matsuno sing for three hours straight. Makoto Oishi and Shunma Katsumata then came out. They told MAO there was one thing they could do to end the show on a happy note. The NωA can reunite and sing for everyone one more time! MAO learned that his friends old and new will always be there for him. NωA sang “Going my ωay!!!!!～You Are Not Alone” to close out the show.

The elderly Gabai Ji-chan needed assistance from Yukio Sakaguchi to enter the ring for their tag match. Despite his limited movements, Ji-chan was able to do the Old School rope walk with his cane. Also whenever Yuki Ueno & Hiroshi Yamato did something to harm him, an angry Sakaguchi stepped in to dish out some punishment. Sakaguchi got rid of Ueno with a Penalty Kick then choked out Yamato with the Sleeper Hold. Ji-chan then won the match with the Gabaiton Bomb.

After the match Sakaguchi gave Ji-chan a can of beer. He told him to take care of his body to live longer. One way to do that is drink more alcohol. They had a toast until Ji-chan hit Sakaguchi from behind with his cane! Ji-chan rolled up Sakaguchi for the pin and became the new Iron Man Heavymetalweight Champion! Sakaguchi got back up and put Ji-chan in the Sleeper Hold to win back the title. Ji-chan had to be resuscitated by Yukinori Matsui afterwards.

Mizuki Watase was put through a Rumble style Handicap match with each opponent representing different behaviors. Naomi Yoshimura was “Joy” and he shared beers with Watase before running him over with a Shoulder Block. Mike Bailey was “Anger” and didn’t hold back on attacking Watase. Kazusada Higuchi was “Sorrow” and grieved over Watase’s beating. Last was Yoshihiko as “Comfort”. It just thrown into the ring and did nothing. The numbers game overwhelmed Watase but he was able to fight back. His comeback ended when he tried to give Yoshihiko the Tiger Suplex but it was countered into the Reincarnation. After the match Watase told everyone he wants to stay here and do more pro wrestling. The others congratulated him while “A Cruel Angel’s Thesis” played over the speakers.

The NωA reunion actually happened in the first match as all three members got together for a 6-Man Tag Match. They sang “Never Give Up☆I LOVE YOU” for their entrance. What they did not expect was Danshoku Dieno, Toru Owashi & Antonio Honda making their own idol group called HωA. They also sang “Never Give Up☆I LOVE YOU”. There was also Queen music used during the match. Dieno shenanigans took place, Daisuke Kiso took a ref bump into his rear end and Matsui called off the match while “We Are the Champions” played. NωA then sang “ωe are the HERO!!”.

In the opening announcements Bailey tried to use Google Translate to tell everyone that today is the 3rd anniversary of his first wrestling match in Japan.
