4. IJ Tag Team Titles: Kenichiro Arai & Shota (c) defeated Hagane Shinno & Shinichiro Tominaga when Shota pinned Tominaga with a Casadora (12:17).
*V2 for Hattoshite Good Daga.
5. Ganpro Special Single Match: Keisuke Ishii defeated Shigehiro Irie with the Kneel Kick (18:16).
6. Ken Ohka 20th Anniversary Special Tag Match ~Roar Of The Lion King~: HARASHIMA & Kengo Mashimo defeated Ken Ohka & Isami Kodaka when HARASHIMA pinned Ohka with the Somato (18:23).

Twenty years in the business for Ken Ohka has made him a lot of friends and acquaintances. To celebrate he teamed with the wrestler who was once labelled as his replacement in Union Pro. Back then Kengo Mashimo was marketed as Kengo Ohka on Union shows. Their opponents were HARASHIMA, who teamed with Ohka for his most famous match, and Isami Kodaka who Ohka grew up with in their Union days. Kodaka and Mashimo also hold a grudge with each other to add some spiciness to the match. Ohka got to shine by Double German Suplexing HARASHIMA and Kodaka. He then exchanged elbows with HARASHIMA and HARASHIMA took the time to congratulate him on the anniversary inbetween the strikes. Ohka got the upper hand and pulled out a Dragon Suplex out of nowhere. But when he charged in for the Fire Spear, HARASHIMA blocked it with the Somato and then hit a second one to win the match.

After the match HARASHIMA said he was smiling from start to finish. Kodaka and Mashimo gave each other the middle finger until Ohka talked to them. Ohka said Mashimo is like his fourth son or his half-brother because he used to be Kengo Ohka. Kodaka admitted to Ohka that he overslept today and only arrived at the venue at 1pm. The show started at 11:30am. Ohka thanked all of them for coming to Ganbare☆Pro today. To him it doesn’t matter what company they work for, they can be double or triple affiliated with Ganpro for as long as they are pro wrestlers! The show ended with Ohka celebrating with the Ganpro roster in the ring. Shota tried to sneak roll up HARASHIMA for the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title during this but failed to pull it off.

The Keisuke Ishii Vs Shigehiro Irie match turned out to be a full Team Dream Futures reunion when Soma Takao was spotted in the audience at the start of the bout. Irie also had Mizuki Watase in his corner to provide some RENEGADES presence. Ishii kicked out of the Beast Bomber and hit Irie with the Kneel Kick to the back of the head. Ishii then hit the Double Arm DDT before doing one more Kneel Kick to win. The two shook hands afterwards while Takao left the room. This is the first time Ishii has beaten Irie one on one in ten years! He put his victory down to honing the Kneel Kick for 13 years.

To ensure that the IJ Tag Team Titles match was fought under PWF Rules, Ayana Shimada from Tenryu Project was at ringside to oversee the match. Both champions and challengers aren’t familiar with the rules only found out about the differences while they wrestled. Things like rope breaks not being strict and 10 counts outside the ring threw the wrestlers off but they adapted in the end. At one point Kenichiro Arai used the ropes to add leverage to Shota pinning Shinichiro Tominaga but Hagane Shinno broke it up by diving onto Arai on the ring apron. Shota ended up stealing the win anyway by rolling Tominaga up with a Casadora.

Yumehito Imanari was excited to find out Shuichi Nishinaga from NOAH was the referee for his match. He & Kouki Iwasaki worked over on Tatsuhito Takaiwa but MAO was there to help his tag partner. Takaiwa took control and pinned Imanari with the Death Valley Bomb. He noticed that Ganpro has changed a lot since the last time he wrestled for them. MAO said it was a fresh feeling wrestling in Ganpro for the first time. He also got some tips from Takaiwa on how to improve the Michinoku Driver.

The current state of Ganbare☆Joshi shows HARUKAZE is making the kind of progress she’s been looking for while the newcomer YuuRI is struggling to find a win. HARUKAZE had a confrontation with Yuna Manase after the match but found herself being praised by Asuka & Makoto. Backstage Manase & Yuna Mizumori consoled YuuRI and don’t blame her for their team losing today. Over on the other side Asuka said she wasn’t satisfied with the match because she thinks GanJo is too weak for her. However she tells HARUKAZE to continue doing her best there.

Today was the last match of Shu Sakurai’s wrestling career, at least for now. He and the rest of THE HALFEE performed “Starry Sky Distance” for their entrance before wrestling Rocky Kawamura 2, Nobuhiro Shimatani & Itsuki Aoki. Sadly for Sakurai his last match ended in defeat with Shimatani making him tap out. Sakurai wants to remind everyone this isn’t a retirement and he will come back some day. His decision to leave is for positive reasons and he hopes to learn and grow as a person while he is away. Shuichiro Katsumura & Moeka Haruhi suggested they all reunite in 47 years because THE ALFEE (the band they parody) are celebrating their 47th anniversary this year.

Some important announcements related to the Ganbare☆Climax were given during the show. First, the tournament is being sponsored by LEC. And second, the winner of the Ganbare☆Climax will be crowned the first Spirit Of Ganbare World Openweight Champion! The president of LEC Takaki Nagamori showed off the new championship belt and talked about LEC sponsoring various pro wrestling events from the G1 Climax to the Ganbare☆Climax.

The wrestlers entering the Ganbare☆Climax 2021 are Ken Ohka, Yumehito Imanari, Keisuke Ishii, Shuichiro Katsumura, Shota, Shinichiro Tominaga, Kouki Iwasaki, Baliyan Akki, Nobuhiro Shimatani, Mizuki Watase, Seiya Morohashi, Tetsuhiro Kuroda, Tatsuhito Takaiwa and kickboxer Tyson Maeguchi. The tournament begins on 24th October and the final to crown the champion will take place on 23rd November.

Yuki Arai is quickly forming teams with her senpais. Yamashita helped train her so that’s a natural duo and she is getting along in the ring with Miu Watanabe too. The three of them team up together for the first time. Meanwhile Moka Miyamoto is becoming something of a rival to Arai as the two rookies breaking in around the same time. Shoko Nakajima gets to be the x factor in the match.

This time HARASHIMA is staying inside DISASTER BOX to look for a tag partner and he ended up with Naomi Yoshimura. These wrestlers are all no strangers to each other but it is still a first time tag team match up.

4. Special Tag Match ~ South Osaka Great War! Izumi Vs Kishiwada: Jun Akiyama & Yusuke Okada Vs Magnitude Kishiwada & Inaba no Buffalo

Four Osaka wrestlers all forged by DDT are put together in one match by Yukinori Matsui. Out of the four, Shigehiro Irie is sort of the black sheep of the group. But when Matsui wants him to show up at a DDT show he is booking, Irie will always oblige.

Osaka gets the first CDK tag match in DDT since Masahiro Takanashi’s comeback.

5. Independent World Jr. Heavyweight Title: Keisuke Ishii (c) defeated HARUKAZE with a Knee Drop (12:32).
*V4 for Keisuke Ishii.
6. Ganbare☆Climax 2018 – Final: Yumehito Imanari defeated Shinichiro Tominaga with the Chubby Knee (19:08).

Change is afoot in Ganbare☆Wrestling. The Imanari Revolution has succeeded in its goal in making Yumehito Imanari a main eventer but there were plenty of other stories on this show that mark a new landscape for the brand. Imanari’s hard fought victories over Shota and Shinichiro Tominaga resulted in him winning the second ever Ganbare☆Climax. To celebrate his achievement, Imanari said Ganpro will return to the location of its very first show, the Nanhai Ichigaya Memorial Clinic on 13th September.

Imanari’s victory speech was interrupted by an unexpected figure. Kouki Iwasaki entered the ring. He said there is a lot he wants to do in Ganpro like the match with Shuichiro Katsumura he was supposed to have on New Year’s Eve. Imanari thanked Iwasaki for coming and is happy to have him on board with Ganpro. Imanari then invited Sanshiro Takagi to enter the ring for a favour. He told him he wants Ganpro to run Korakuen Hall again and he found out that DDT has the venue booked for 16th December. Takagi wanted to know who leaked him that information but Imanari said Takagi left the schedule visible on his desk at DDT HQ. Imanari invited everyone to tweet non-stop at Takagi to give over the date but he immediately gave it up.

You may have noticed something isn’t right about what was written so far. How come Imanari gets to make the decisions now instead of Ganpro’s founder Ken Ohka? Well that’s because Ohka has walked out! He was beaten again today this time by Mitsuo Momota in a tag match. Afterwards Ohka grabbed his suitcase and left the building yelling “I don’t know” and “I am in trouble” at nearby reporters.

HARUKAZE put up a good effort against Keisuke Ishii by targeting his arm with Cross Armbreakers. But she fell to a Lariat and a Middle Kick both to the back of the head followed by a Knee Drop.

It looks like Survival Tobita isn’t up to scratch when he wrestles a regular match. He quickly ran out of steam and was easily put away by Tominaga in the Ganbare☆Climax semi-final.

3. Ganbare☆Climax 2018 – Round 1: Shinichiro Tominaga defeated Yuu Yamagata with an Inside Cradle (6:03).
4. Independent World Jr. Heavyweight Title Next Challenger Battle Royal: HARUKAZE defeated Hagane by Ring Out (11:23).
Order Of Elimination: Ryan Davidson, Moeka Haruhi, Chikara, Shuichiro Katsumura, Takeshi Okada and Hagane.
5. Ganbare☆Climax 2018 – Round 1 – No DQ & No Ropes Match: Survival Tobita defeated Ken Ohka with the Piledriver onto a Chair (13:10).
6. Ganbare☆Climax 2018 – Round 1 – No DQ & No Ropes Match: Yumehito Imanari defeated Shin Mokujin Ken by Knockout with a Diving Elbow from the balcony (8:10).

The 2018 Ganbare☆Climax kicked off in violent fashion with the top two matches of the 1st Round. It was agreed that the main event and semi-main event would take place under Saitama Wrestling rules which meant no DQs, no countouts and no ropes attached to the ring. Yumehito Imanari knew that he had to go the extra mile to beat the stiff wooden monster known as Shin Mokujin Ken so he dressed Commando style for the match. He hid underneath a box so he could ambush Ken during its entrance but Ken was ready for him. Next, Imanari took out a machine gun and fired at Ken but the creature was not effected by the bullets. They brawled outside over to the balcony and Imanari knocked Ken into the wall with the Chubby Knee strike. Ken fell on top of a pile of boxes and couldn’t get up. Imanari then finished it off by finding his way up to the balcony and jumping off to hit a Diving Elbow Drop! Imanari was able to get up but Ken couldn’t answer the referee so Imanari was declared the winner by Knockout! When the match was over Imanari said for the last month he hated Ken. But today he felt a fresh sensation when they fought each other. Imanari now realises Ken isn’t a monster, he’s more like a forest fairy! Imanari broke down into tears and apologised for shooting Ken with a machine gun. He admits that was unnecessary. The world needs to be more peaceful and to do that Imanari will wrestle his enemies instead of shooting guns at them. Ken accepted his apology and the two gave each other a fist bump.

The other No Ropes, No DQ Match did not have as happy of an ending. Last year’s Ganbare☆Climax winner Ken Ohka was eliminated by Survival Tobita! Ohka was busted open early during an outside brawl and Tobita made it worse with more weapon attacks including a sawblade and a plunger. Ohka fought back with his own weapons which were all ordinary items found inside a suitcase. He got a nearfall with the Fire Spear outside the ring. The match went back into the ring and Ohka tried to finish off Tobita with a Piledriver. But Tobita countered it with a Back Body Drop onto chairs and the suitcase. Tobita hit a Piledriver of his own onto the chairs and that got him the win. Both men were on the mat by the end but Tobita still had enough in him to speak. He questioned if Ohka did his best today. Tobita gives his best because he knows as a 50 year old man that it will all be taken away from him someday. If Ohka is just going to tread water he may as well go smoke cigarettes instead of wrestle. Tobita told Ohka to ask himself again what is Ganbare☆Wrestling? Ohka still has more to do to answer that.

In the remaining 1st Round matches Shota beat a grumpy Mitsuo Momota by holding onto his tights during a School Boy. Shinichiro Tominaga eliminated Yuu Yamagata from the tournament by kissing her for a distraction then rolling her up with a Small Package for the three count. The semi-finals tomorrow will be Shota Vs Imanari and Tobita Vs Tominaga.

Besides the Ganbare☆Climax opening round, the rest of the show was all about the Independent World Jr. Heavyweight Title. The day kicked off with Keisuke Ishii successfully defending the belt against Ayumu Honda. Later in the show HARUKAZE won a Battle Royal to get the next title shot tomorrow. The match included a last minute entry from Texas wrestler Ryan Davidson. He looked to be a threat early so the rest of the field all joined forces to eliminate him. Ishii congratulated HARUKAZE for winning the match and told her it was great to see a woman getting a title match. He then called for his next challenger to come into the ring. HARUKAZE told Ishii that she is the next challenger. Ishii was a little annoyed by the idea but he agreed to the match. He won’t lose to a chick show! HARUKAZE got fired up and told Ishii she will beat him to become the new champion tomorrow!

*HARASHIMA will cash in his Right To Challenge Anytime, Anywhere Gauntlet.

All 32 wrestlers competing in this year’s King Of DDT tournament will be revealed during the show. However some wrestlers are either prohibited from entering or have declined to participate. The KO-D Openweight Champion and everyone who possesses a Right To Challenge Gauntlet cannot enter the tournament. Also anybody who already has a match booked for “RYOGOKU PETER PAN 2018” on 21st October cannot enter either so that removes Makoto Oishi, Misaki Ohata, Joey Ryan and Laura James. Finally, Danshoku Dieno has declined to take part and Rekka will be in Taiwan while the tournament is in progress so he is not entering. After that it is fair game across the field. Will all 32 wrestlers come from the DDT family or will there be a couple of surprises in store?

Ken Ohka has the bright idea of inviting Survival Tobita to enter this year’s Ganbare☆Climax along with another wrestler of his choice. That backfired when Tobita brought in the big box Shin Mokujin Ken to cause havoc at the most recent Ganbare☆Wrestling show. Both Ohka and Yumehito Imanari are stepping up to defend their turf.

TOKYO JOSHI PRO “BRAND NEW WRESTLING 2 ~NOW IT’S TIME TO ATTACK~”, 25/08/2018
Tokyo Korakuen Hall

1. Special Single Match: Shoko Nakajima Vs Riho
2. TOKYO Princess Of Princess Title: Miyu Yamashita (c) Vs Yuu

Nodoka-oneesan gave a surprising announcement that she is graduating from her current gimmick and will come to this show with new name, a new costume and new entrance music. Nodoka feels that after reaching the semi-finals of the Tokyo Princess Cup, she needs to move on from her current gimmick to make the next step. She isn’t entirely sure what she is going to become because she has always been the “Older Sister” character from her debut.

Shoko Nakajima wanted a singles match with Riho to celebrate the 5th anniversary of her debut. Her wish has come true. They previously wrestled each other in a TOKYO Princess Tag Team Titles match at the January Korakuen Hall Show earlier this year. Riho is happy to be back in Tokyo Joshi Pro because there are a variety of different women wrestlers here. Her match with Nakajima will be a lot different than the match she had with Maki Ito back in May for example.

4. Road To Independent World Jr!? Hitori Shiten Pro Wrestling Vs Silent Arm Cross: Ayumu Honda & Kyu Mogami defeated Keisuke Ishii & Chikara when Honda submitted Chikara with a Jumping Cross Armbreaker (12:29).
5. This Is Ganbare☆Wrestling! ~Charisma Vs Revolutionary~: Ken Ohka Vs Yumehito Imanari ended in a No Contest when Survival Tobita and Shin Mokujin Ken interfered. (13:30).
5a. Emergency Special Match: Ken Ohka & Yumehito Imanari defeated Survival Tobita & Shin Mokujin Ken by Disqualification when Ken attacked the referee (2:33).

The battle for Ganbare☆Wrestling went in a bizarre direction when the main event was interrupted by Survival Tobita and a new version of one of his most infamous monster wrestlers Shin Mokujin Ken (I think the original was killed by Mecha Mummy in Chikara Pro)! Tobita gave Ken Ohka a Piledriver while Ken attacked Yumehito Imanari. Ohka immediately changed the main event into a tag team match but that was thrown out when Ken attacked the referee. Tobita told Ohka he wasn’t working hard enough. Tobita is crazier than Ohka is and to prove it he captured Mokujin Ken and brought him to Ganpro to cause some chaos! Ohka called for a truce with Imanari so they can fight back together. They decided that Ohka will face Tobita and Imanari will fight Ken in the first round of the Ganbare☆Climax on 11th August! Imanari said that the Imanari Revolution is no joke. His dream is to lead Ganpro back to Korakuen Hall!

Ayumu Honda used the referee as a shield to block Chikara and leave him open for the Cross Armbreaker. After the match Keisuke Ishii announced he will defend the Independent World Jr. Heavyweight Title against Honda on 11th August. Honda wanted to change the date because he is already booked for a K-DOJO show in Chiba that day. Ishii convinced Honda to take the match because the Ganpro show in Narimasu takes place early in the afternoon while the K-DOJO show will be at night.

Shuichiro Katsumura & Facade are both ninjas so they made a good team today. They both did ninja poses to celebrate their win.

HARUKAZE wanted a rematch with Moeka Haruhi on 11th August but there is not enough room on the card to make it happen. Ohka instead offered to enter both HARUKAZE and Haruhi into the Battle Royal to determine who faces the Independent World Jr. Champion the next day. Both accepted.

The Uguisudani Crossface used by Shinichiro Tominaga is also known as the Buffalo Sleeper.

The eight participants for the 2018 Ganbare☆Climax are Ken Ohka, Yumehito Imanari, Shinichiro Tominaga, Shota, Survival Tobita, Shin Makujin Ken, Mitsuo Momota and Yuu Yamagata.

4. Independent World Jr. Heavyweight Title: Keisuke Ishii (c) defeated Shota with the High Angle Double Arm DDT (15:41).
*V1 for Keisuke Ishii.
5. Attitude Of The Imanari Revolution: Shuichiro Katsumura defeated Yumehito Imanari with a Sliding Kick (18:23).

The Imanari Revolution continued with a second straight main event singles match for Yumehito Imanari. However this match ended in defeat to Shuichiro Tominaga. Imanari did his best though and did not tap out to the Ninja Choke. Tominaga had to hit him with a Sliding Kick to get the win. He told Imanari after the match that he has gotten stronger. He thought the Imanari Revolution was some kind of joke that went over his head but now he realises that it is a genuine attempt by Imanari to improve. He thanked him for the match and said Imanari is welcome to come back to his dojo anytime.

The closing speeches were cut off when Keisuke Ishii approached Katsumura. Ishii wanted to nominate him as the next challenger for his Independent World Jr. Heavyweight Title! Katsumura accepted the offer but refused to shake Ishii’s hand. He knows that Ishii is in tomorrow’s KO-D Openweight Title match in DDT. He told him to bring that belt with him too if he wins it.

Ken Ohka announced the Ganbare☆Climax tournament will return for its second year in August. This time however the tournament will run for two shows instead of three. The shows will be held on the 11th and 12th August.

Both Imanari and Shota showed each other support for their matches at the start of the show.

2. Ganbare☆Climax – Semi Final: KENSO defeated Dave Crist with the Soul’s Leg Lock (10:57).
3. HARUKAZE’s Hot Summer: Saori Anou defeated HARUKAZE with the To Be Continued (8:10).
4. Ganbare☆Climax Special 6-Man Tag Match: Takafumi Ito, Tanomusaku Toba & Hollywood GOTA defeated Shinichiro Tominaga, Yukihiro Abe & Shinichiro Wakita when Ito pinned Wakita with a German Suplex (12:30).
5. Special Tag Match: Mitsuo Momota & Chikara defeated Kendo Kashin & Yumehito Imanari when Momota pinned Imanari with a School Boy (9:20).
6. Special Tag Match: Minoru Fujita & KAZMA SAKAMOTO defeated Shigehiro Irie & Shinichiro Tominaga when Fujita pinned Tominaga with a Modified Choke Hold (12:23).
7. Ganbare☆Climax – Final: Ken Ohka defeated KENSO with the Fire Spear (16:08).

Ken Ohka is your winner of the 2017 Ganbare☆Climax! Ohka had to face and beat one of his rivals KENSO to be crowned the tournament’s first winner. KENSO had KAZMA SAKAMOTO in his corner to help out but that plan backfired late in the match when a Lariat aimed for Ohka hit KENSO instead. Ohka hit the Fire Spear several times but the referee was out of action every time. Another Fire Spear hitting KENSO in mid-air led to one final Spear for the three count.

KENSO congratulated Ohka for winning the tournament and called him the “fucking best”. He then switched the subject over to his ally Hollywood GOTA. KENSO announced that GOTA was dismissed from the New York Head Hunters! GOTA was as surprised as anyone else but left when SAKAMOTO hugged him goodbye. KENSO said he wants the Ganbare☆Climax to become as big a prize as the G1 Climax then left the ring. Ohka thanked the fans, friends and family for their support. There was no prize money or championship on the line but everyone still fought their best. He then announced his next Independent World Jr. Heavyweight Title defence will be on 21st September. His opponent is somebody from his past, a wrestler who was part of the same Dragon System class that he flunked out of. It’s “brother” YASSHI!

KENSO defeated Dave Crist to advance to the final. At first KENSO showed respect to Crist and fought clean. But as the match went and the fans rallied behind Crist, KENSO became more aggressive and refused to break holds or follow the ref’s orders. He countered Crist’s Axe Bomber with the Soul’s Leg Lock and forced Crist to submit.

Ohka was able to beat GENTARO in the semi-final by countering a Cross Armbreaker into a Cradle pin. GENTARO was upset over the result and still wanted to fight Ohka after the bell. He had to be held back by the referee. It was clear he was disappointed in his tournament run ending this way.

The father/son duo of Mitsuo Momota & Chikara won their grudge match against Kendo Kashin & Yumehito Imanari. Kashin today weighed in at 88kg and he entered the ring carrying a wand he borrowed from Fairy Nihonbashi at a WAVE show the day before. The match had a weird ending where Momota held Imanari in place for Chikara to hit him with the Sabre Chop. However, Kashin then grabbed Momota and held him in place too. Chikara hesitated but did the Sabre Chop. Momota somehow ducked so both Imanari & Kashin were hit. Momota then rolled over Imanari in a School Boy for the pin. After the match Kashin said he had a talk with Sanshiro Takagi and they agreed to book Kashin Vs Momota at Sumo Hall on the morning of DDT “RYOGOKU PETER PAN 2017”. The match will begin at 6:30 am. Takagi was in the audience and he denied making the match or ever talking to Kashin.

Shota was the ring announcer for all three days of the tournament and by the time Day 3 began he was running out of topics to talk about during the opening ceremony. He acknowledged there was another Climax tournament happening nearby and his Twitter timeline was a confusing mixture of tweets about both shows.
