6. Gunhed 2022 Special Tag Match: Hartley Jackson & Seiya Morohashi defeated Tatsuhito Takaiwa & Mizuki Watase when Jackson pinned Watase with the Jumping Piledriver (16:41).

It could not be any more obvious how much of an underdog Mizuki Watase is going against Hartley Jackson. The size and power difference is bad enough but Watase also had to fight against Seiya Morohashi and his cheating ways. Tatsuhito Takaiwa did what he could to even the odds but when it came down to Watase versus Jackson, Jackson won. After the match Jackson asked Watase if he still wants to fight him for the Spirit Of Ganbare Title? Jackson has beaten him in two tag matches now and can do it a third time. Instead Jackson wants to defend the belt against the boss of Ganbare☆Pro if there is one. He thought he wanted to be part of the Ganpro family but fuck that! He now realises he is better off being on his own. Watase blamed himself for losing not because of skill or size but because he isn’t carrying the Ganpro spirit.

Yuna Manase feels the need to take the lead of the Ganbare☆Joshi division in order to make it more active. She described Echika Miyabi as being talented and wants to make more new friends like Miyabi to liven up Ganpro even more. Miyabi said she wants to compete here and get stronger so is hoping to get invited back.

A can of Chuhai was placed in the middle of the ring for Match #3 for everyone to fight over. Late in the match Shinichiro Tominaga stepped on the can and slipped, causing Soma Takao to roll him up for the pinfall.

YuuRI scored her first victory in Ganpro today due to HARUKAZE being over eager. HARUKAZE targeted YuuRI’s arm and was determined to beat her with a Cross Armbreaker. YuuRI found a way to counter the move by rolling HARUKAZE over locomotion style until she finally got to pin her shoulders to the mat for a three count. YuuRI said the win comes close to her entering the third year of her wrestling career. It was frustrating to lose so much but that time in her life helped her gain self-confidence. Winning for the first time today is not YuuRI’s end goal so it is still only the beginning of her journey.

A new trainee will be making his debut for Ganpro soon. Munetatsu Nakamura is a 21 year old college student from Chiba with a background in both Wrestling and Judo. He is 168cm tall and weighs 65kg. In 2021 he was part of the DDT Teenage Project (now called DDTeeeen!!) and has spent the last year and a half training. This year he began training with Ganpro and will make his pro debut under their banner on 27th December.

It’s time for Ganbare☆Joshi to finally do those big series of singles matches that shows are built around sometimes. Most of the division are taking on each other but Yuna Manase is getting a brand new opponent making her Ganbare☆Pro debut. Echika Miyabi is a trans joshi wrestler who made her pro wrestling debut with P.P.P. Tokyo in September. Miyabi is 21 years old, 178cm tall and weighs 75kg. She had a background in baseball and judo before she transitioned during her college years. She worked at a muscle girls themed bar where she was introduced to pro wrestling by her workmate, Chanyota and began training with her.

It will be a few weeks until the next Spirit Of Ganbare Title defence so until then Hartley Jackson and Mizuki Watase will have plenty of time to prepare for it. Former champion Tatsuhito Takaiwa is coming back to give Watase some help in his preparation. Jackson will be teaming with Seiya Morohashi for this match.

Kouki Iwasaki’s final match in Ganpro will be against Keisuke Ishii but before that happens, he wants to team with him one last time. Their friendship will be put to the test against Ganpro’s original best buddies, Ken Ohka & Yumehito Imanari.

2018 was the last time the World Omori Title was defended outside the JR Omori Station. It’s been years since DDT held a show there but they are finally going back. It was determined four years ago that Chikara would defend the title against Masahiro Takanashi next but Takanashi will be busy wrestling in Singapore. So instead Soma Takao has been chosen to challenge for the belt even though he does not want to. The next No. 1 Contender for the following year’s event is usually determined on this show too.

There are not one but two shows filled with D-Ou Grand Prix matches taking place tomorrow in Yokohama. RSP won both of his DDT matches so far with the GTF and is looking to destroy the rest of the competition with that move. Daisuke Sasaki is coming off of a time limit draw but that can turn out to be just a minor setback if he can win here. MAO is one for two so far and still relying on creative or ingenious ways to win matches. KANON, Naomi Yoshimura and Joey Janela all need to do something to catch up because another loss for any of them will be very damaging to their chances of reaching the final.

By the time tomorrow is over the GP will already be around halfway done. Yuji Hino can storm ahead of the B Block if he beats Kazusada Higuchi and remain undefeated. Yuki Ueno figured out Janela but can he do the same with RSP? Tetsuya Endo is in the same situation with Sasaki because of their draw, not a bad thing as long as he wins from here on out. We’ll see if Chris Brookes has gotten over his embarassing countout loss to MAO.

The roster has won him over with their fighting spirit while he defends the Spirit Of Ganbare Title against all of them. Mizuki Watase is next to challenge him, doing so one year after he himself joined the promotion. Watase’s win-loss record isn’t great but he carries the flame of Ganpro wherever he goes and wants to be the one to dethrone Jackson. If he does win and become the new champion, Watase will then personally welcome Jackson into the Ganpro family if he wants to. While all of this is going on, Ken Ohka is feeling left out in the cold. Every time he tries to confront Jackson to make a challenge, somebody else beats him to the punch.

The “Real Tiger Mask” had his hopes to become the new Spirit Of Ganbare Champion dashed in front of his home crowd. Shuichiro Katsumura tried luring Hartley Jackson into a grounded battle of submissions with some kicks inbetween. But Jackson was just too physically big for the plan to work. Katsumura could not fully apply his new Triple Three 3 Lock finisher so had to make do with a Double Two 2 Lock instead. The Ninja Choke also didn’t work and Jackson threw the challenger off of himself. A big Lariat was the beginning of the end and Jackson landed the Jumping Piledriver for the victory.

The two shook hands after the match and Jackson admitted to everyone he was pushed to the limit. When he first entered Ganbare☆Pro he thought he would rampage over everybody. Instead he found out everyone here has fighting spirit and he has come to like the place instead. Now he thinks Ganpro is like a big family and he can become a part of it. Ken Ohka came out and approached Jackson until Mizuki Watase also appeared and took the microphone from him. Watase said it’s been a year since he joined Ganpro and he kept the promotion’s fire burning everywhere he went. If he does not work for Ganpro now then when will he ever? That means he is next in line to challenge Jackson for the championship! If Watase wins then he will be the one to welcome Jackson into the Ganpro family. Jackson accepted the challenge on the condition that he gets some time to rest. He wants to be at 100% for this match so it will happen at Korakuen Hall on 27th December.

Kouki Iwasaki thanked Shinichiro Tominaga for agreeing to his selfish request for a singles match before he leaves Ganpro at the end of the year. Iwasaki only has two more matches left in Ganpro and promises to put his soul into them. He has one more selfish request and that is to team with Keisuke Ishii one more time.

Today is HARUKAZE’s mother’s birthday so she promised to win the Mixed Tag Match for her before heading out to the birthday party. She lived up to her word and did just that.

It’s understandable for a wrestler to feel down after failing to win a championship. Yuna Manase has been that way but today’s match with the Ganbare☆Joshi divison cheered her up. She’s now filled with super energy thanks to Willow Nightingale and the two have become purple friends. Yoshiko Hasegawa is happy she got to wrestle somebody from AEW and hopes to become stronger so they can fight again. Moeka Haruhi came up with cheerful nicknames for everyone in the match. Manase is Ganpro’s Sun, Hasegawa is Ganpro’s Moon and Nightingale is International Sunshine. What does that make Moeka? Ganpro’s Rainbow of course!

A press conference was held at the Kanda Myojin Shrine in Tokyo featuring the majority of the D-Ou Grand Prix competitors. Only the foreign entrants Joey Janela and RSP were absent. However RSP sent in a video message warning DDT they don’t know how dangerous he is. Kazusada Higuchi is aiming to win the DDT Grand Slam by adding the D-Ou GP to the KO-D Openweight Title and King Of DDT achievements he earned this year. He hopes to meet Naomi Yoshimura in the final. Yoshimura is looking forward to fighting RSP. He’s been to Ohio and never heard of RSP so any threats of how dangerous RSP is means nothing to him. Endo said he is not letting his ankle sprain stopping him from winning the tournament for the first time. He wants to win it with Kenta Kobashi watching him.

Yukio Naya is getting a brand new theme song debuting during the tournament. The song is called “MONOGATARE” and it is made by Sorao Mori. Naya thinks he is riding a wave of growth going into the Grand Prix and feels he will definitely win it. Yuki Ueno was the finalist last year so knows how difficult the competition is. He wants to get off to a good start so he needs to beat Naya in the opening round. Daisuke Sasaki only cares about winning the KO-D Title from Higuchi but he is aware Endo is in his block and he wants to face Naya in the final. Chris Brookes is disappointed with his recent tournament performances in DDT and how he was unable to challenge for the KO-D Title this year. That’s why he wants to win the Grand Prix this year. MAO is proud of being a 100% purebred DDT wrestler and wants to add the Grand Prix to all of the DDT championships he won this year. Yuji Hino can’t imagine losing to anybody but he will concentrate more than usual. As long as he avoids getting rolled up into pins he thinks he can blow through the block. KANON is looking forward to fighting so many big wrestlers and wants to face Sasaki in the final.

Kenta Kobashi also gave some comments given his role as the chairman of the D-Ou Grand Prix committee. He thinks all the wrestlers under 40 years old are at the centre of DDT right now so they will fight hard and fulfill their responsibilities. The wrestlers he is keeping his eyes on are Endo, Ueno, Yoshimura, Sasaki, Higuchi, Brookes and Hino.

Shuichiro Katsumura called in an old friend to help him train for the Spirit Of Ganbare Title match. Shu Sakurai, who has been on an indefinite hiatus since last September, was brought in by Katsumura to be his sparring partner because he is the closest wrestler available to matching Hartley Jackson’s size. During the training, Sakurai suggested Katsumura change his focus from Sleeper Holds and Armbars to other submission moves like the Ankle Lock. Katsumura agreed and his plan going into the match is to take away Jackson’s stamina so he will become weaker to submissions. His hope is to become champion and defend it at Korakuen Hall on 27th December. Meanwhile Sakurai opened up a personal training gym in June this year. He said if the business gets off the ground he would like to return to pro wrestling.

Now that Pheromones have won the war against Sanshiro Takagi, it is up to Akito to protect DDT from their scandalous ways. Takagi has “graduated” from the feud and selected Akito to take his place as Captain of the Pheromones Subjugation Squad. Akito feels like he’s been in that position for a while anyway but agreed to the idea. He’s not wrestling on this show but will be accompanying the opposing team to make sure Pheromones don’t fall out of line.

The new rookie Kazumi Sumi impressed with his debut match. Jae over at Dragongate revealed in a tweet that Sumi originally came from the dojo over there but dropped out. And that is how DDT is getting some of their new trainees. They start training at other companies, leave for whatever reason and end up over in DDT. Might be a little awkward if he bumps into Naruki Doi in the locker room then.

Last we heard from Gorgeous Matsuno he was in the early stages of preparations donating a kidney to his partner Junko Tashiro. He gave an update during the week that the kidney transplant has been delayed until next Spring. He explained in an interview that Tashiro’s recent blood tests showed she is in good health and her doctors suggested it might not be a good idea to get a transplant right away while her own kidneys are still functioning. The operation will have to happen eventually but right now Matsuno has been given extra time to go back to his different entertainment activities, including pro wrestling.

Shuichiro Katsumura went into today’s show with a single goal. To make knock Hartley Jackson down to the No. 2 wrestler in Ganbare☆Pro! He did it by submitted Seiya Morohashi in the main event and then trapping Jackson in a Cross Armbreaker after the match. He intends to do achieve the same goal in Yokohama on 3rd November when the Spirit Of Ganbare Title is on the line. The Triple Three 3 Lock submission hold he developed will make sure of it. However Jackson warns that today’s match was just a warm up and he has a few secrets in his pocket he can pull out at the title match.

Only a few matches left for Kouki Iwasaki before he goes freelance. Katsumura thinks it is possible that Iwasaki will come back someday as an outsider challenging the champion. That motivates Katsumura to win the championship even more so he can be the one defending it against Iwasaki.

Yukio Sakaguchi has spent the last day training with Kosei Kubota at the Sakaguchi Dojo in Yokohama. Other preparations for the KO-D Openweight Title match are sparring with open-finger gloves and weight training. Sakaguchi thinks Kazusada Higuchi has a perfect score of 10 when it comes to power, speed, technique and toughness. But his weakness is heart. That is what Sakaguchi thinks will help him win the match and become champion. He also criticizes the age limit that was added to this year’s D-Ou Grand Prix. The tournament is supposed to determine the strongest wrestler in DDT but cutting off entries older than forty years old means the tournament will only determine the strongest wrestler under forty. If Sakaguchi becomes the new champion he will be waiting for the D-Ou winner to meet him in the ring. He also encourages the other wrestlers in his age group to not give up and show their pride. As for his demand for Harimao to be join forces with Eruption and be absorbed into the unit, he sees the idea as a way for himself and Higuchi to start over after their match ends. It is up to Higuchi to show confidence and prove that Harimao can get things done by themselves.

DDT held a short interview with Saki Akai on their website asking her about the Higuchi Vs Sakaguchi match. She called Higuchi a kind, sensitive, strong, and reliable fighter but was always one step away from becoming the champion. So they had many frustrating experiences together in Eruption. She understands Sakaguchi’s feelings on the matter and can’t imagine how both men will feel when they step into the ring on the day of the match. She thinks Higuchi has the power and momentum but Sakaguchi knows his weaknesses and when to attack them. She’s also aware that Sakaguchi becomes an even more fearful fighter when his limits get removed. The scary thing is we don’t even know how fearsome he can become once that happens.

The hometown girl Arisu Endo is feeling the pressure lately. No matter how much effort she puts into her matches she still loses in the end. She got words of encouragement from Yuka Sakazaki to evolve more because everyone else is also changing as Tokyo Joshi Pro grows bigger. For her homecoming Endo & Suzume are back together as Daisy Monkey to take on The Magical Sugar Rabbits. It’s a rematch of the Princess Tag Team Titles bout back in April. Mizuki pinned Endo to win that one.

Miyu Yamashita is wrestling in Spain this weekend for RCW so she is missing this show.

One example of evolution in TJPW is Moka Miyamoto. She now has a new finishing move and gathered together the confidence to be Miu Watanabe’s first challenger for the International Princess Title.

Yuki Arai, Juria Nagano and Willow Nightingale will all be on the show. It will be Nagano’s first time wrestling in Osaka. Nightingale’s delayed tour of TJPW finally begins here.

What an unlikely tag team Joey Janela & Yukio Sakaguchi is. Janela is currently on the indie run of his life defending the DDT Extreme Title around America and Mexico in Title Vs Title matches. He’s now a triple crown champion sharing a DDT championship with belts from GCW and Lucha Libre Vanguardia. However it sounds like he got a disgusting arm injury in a recent GCW and Zona 23 crossover show. No word yet on if it will effect his DDT bookings.

Once the trainee Kazuma Sumi has his debut match on 23rd October, he will move on to a few tag matches on the undercard of some D-Ou Grand Prix shows.

If Pheromones are forced to split up on 23rd October then the undercard matches may be changed.

A battle between two of Masahiro Takanashi’s rivals has been added to his show. He started treating MAO as a rival after their DDT Universal Title match happened in June. He also thinks of Mei Suruga as a rival whenever he watches her matches but kept that opinion secret from everybody until now.
