On the surface, Yuna Manase and Yuu Yamagata look like the obvious choices for captains but the teams can play it sneaky if they want to. Maybe HARUKAZE gets to show how much stronger she has become? How about Moeka Haruhi take charge in Ganbare☆Joshi for once? Cherry can be the wild card choice. And don’t get me started on Makoto. If somebody tells her she can use this match to become a Hashira like Kyojuro Rengoku she is going to take it. Have you seen her social media lately? 6. Ken Ohka 20th Anniversary Special Tag Match ~Roar Of The Lion King~: HARASHIMA & Kengo Mashimo defeated Ken Ohka & Isami Kodaka when HARASHIMA pinned Ohka with the Somato (18:23).

Twenty years in the business for Ken Ohka has made him a lot of friends and acquaintances. To celebrate he teamed with the wrestler who was once labelled as his replacement in Union Pro. Back then Kengo Mashimo was marketed as Kengo Ohka on Union shows. Their opponents were HARASHIMA, who teamed with Ohka for his most famous match, and Isami Kodaka who Ohka grew up with in their Union days. Kodaka and Mashimo also hold a grudge with each other to add some spiciness to the match. Ohka got to shine by Double German Suplexing HARASHIMA and Kodaka. He then exchanged elbows with HARASHIMA and HARASHIMA took the time to congratulate him on the anniversary inbetween the strikes. Ohka got the upper hand and pulled out a Dragon Suplex out of nowhere. But when he charged in for the Fire Spear, HARASHIMA blocked it with the Somato and then hit a second one to win the match.

After the match HARASHIMA said he was smiling from start to finish. Kodaka and Mashimo gave each other the middle finger until Ohka talked to them. Ohka said Mashimo is like his fourth son or his half-brother because he used to be Kengo Ohka. Kodaka admitted to Ohka that he overslept today and only arrived at the venue at 1pm. The show started at 11:30am. Ohka thanked all of them for coming to Ganbare☆Pro today. To him it doesn’t matter what company they work for, they can be double or triple affiliated with Ganpro for as long as they are pro wrestlers! The show ended with Ohka celebrating with the Ganpro roster in the ring. Shota tried to sneak roll up HARASHIMA for the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title during this but failed to pull it off.

The Keisuke Ishii Vs Shigehiro Irie match turned out to be a full Team Dream Futures reunion when Soma Takao was spotted in the audience at the start of the bout. Irie also had Mizuki Watase in his corner to provide some RENEGADES presence. Ishii kicked out of the Beast Bomber and hit Irie with the Kneel Kick to the back of the head. Ishii then hit the Double Arm DDT before doing one more Kneel Kick to win. The two shook hands afterwards while Takao left the room. This is the first time Ishii has beaten Irie one on one in ten years! He put his victory down to honing the Kneel Kick for 13 years.

To ensure that the IJ Tag Team Titles match was fought under PWF Rules, Ayana Shimada from Tenryu Project was at ringside to oversee the match. Both champions and challengers aren’t familiar with the rules only found out about the differences while they wrestled. Things like rope breaks not being strict and 10 counts outside the ring threw the wrestlers off but they adapted in the end. At one point Kenichiro Arai used the ropes to add leverage to Shota pinning Shinichiro Tominaga but Hagane Shinno broke it up by diving onto Arai on the ring apron. Shota ended up stealing the win anyway by rolling Tominaga up with a Casadora.

Yumehito Imanari was excited to find out Shuichi Nishinaga from NOAH was the referee for his match. He & Kouki Iwasaki worked over on Tatsuhito Takaiwa but MAO was there to help his tag partner. Takaiwa took control and pinned Imanari with the Death Valley Bomb. He noticed that Ganpro has changed a lot since the last time he wrestled for them. MAO said it was a fresh feeling wrestling in Ganpro for the first time. He also got some tips from Takaiwa on how to improve the Michinoku Driver.

The current state of Ganbare☆Joshi shows HARUKAZE is making the kind of progress she’s been looking for while the newcomer YuuRI is struggling to find a win. HARUKAZE had a confrontation with Yuna Manase after the match but found herself being praised by Asuka & Makoto. Backstage Manase & Yuna Mizumori consoled YuuRI and don’t blame her for their team losing today. Over on the other side Asuka said she wasn’t satisfied with the match because she thinks GanJo is too weak for her. However she tells HARUKAZE to continue doing her best there.

Today was the last match of Shu Sakurai’s wrestling career, at least for now. He and the rest of THE HALFEE performed “Starry Sky Distance” for their entrance before wrestling Rocky Kawamura 2, Nobuhiro Shimatani & Itsuki Aoki. Sadly for Sakurai his last match ended in defeat with Shimatani making him tap out. Sakurai wants to remind everyone this isn’t a retirement and he will come back some day. His decision to leave is for positive reasons and he hopes to learn and grow as a person while he is away. Shuichiro Katsumura & Moeka Haruhi suggested they all reunite in 47 years because THE ALFEE (the band they parody) are celebrating their 47th anniversary this year.

Some important announcements related to the Ganbare☆Climax were given during the show. First, the tournament is being sponsored by LEC. And second, the winner of the Ganbare☆Climax will be crowned the first Spirit Of Ganbare World Openweight Champion! The president of LEC Takaki Nagamori showed off the new championship belt and talked about LEC sponsoring various pro wrestling events from the G1 Climax to the Ganbare☆Climax.

The wrestlers entering the Ganbare☆Climax 2021 are Ken Ohka, Yumehito Imanari, Keisuke Ishii, Shuichiro Katsumura, Shota, Shinichiro Tominaga, Kouki Iwasaki, Baliyan Akki, Nobuhiro Shimatani, Mizuki Watase, Seiya Morohashi, Tetsuhiro Kuroda, Tatsuhito Takaiwa and kickboxer Tyson Maeguchi. The tournament begins on 24th October and the final to crown the champion will take place on 23rd November.

There was good moments and bad moments for Yuna Manase on today’s Ganbare☆Joshi show. The bad moment was losing to HARUKAZE in the main event. Yuu Yamagata cut down Manase with a Buzzsaw Kick and HARUKAZE finished her off with the Fire Spear. This is the first time HARUKAZE has beaten Manase. Yamagata rubbed the result in Manase’s face and said Ganjo only became interesting when she showed up. Yamagata isn’t the wrestler she used to be but she isn’t ever going to let Manase beat her! Moeka Haruhi had to motivate Manase to do her best because that is what Ganbare means. Manase agreed and promised to get stronger, beat Yamagata and return HARUKAZE to Ganjo!

The good news for Manase and Ganjo happened at the start of the show. Manase’s opening speech was interrupted when suddenly YuuRI entered the ring. The former JUST TAP OUT wrestler surprised everyone even further when she announced that as of today she is now signed to Ganbare☆Pro! Manase didn’t know about this but is happy to have a new companion in Ganjo. They agreed to an impromptu match which Manase won. She told YuuRI afterwards to never give up on Ganbare☆Joshi. Backstage YuuRI explained why she signed with Ganpro instead of another company that fans were expecting she would go to. She is the only woman in Ganpro who is under 30 and she wants to freshen up the promotion while also showing her strength.

Both Makoto and Itsuki Aoki were unable to be at the show so they were replaced with Hong Kong Domestic Ladies Police Man and Hong Kong International Ladies Police Man. The Hong Kong International Police Man that was replacing Choun-Shiryu turned out to be crooked. His true identity is Hong Kong International Undercover Mafia. He may have attempted a hit on Ken Ohka. He definitely paid off the referee in a failed attempt to win.

I am aiming to have a preview written and posted by Thursday night at the latest.

The main event will have Kenta Kobashi at ringside to witness the KO-D Openweight Title match. Whenever he shows up for big matches involving Jun Akiyama, Akiyama usually wins so he is kind of a good luck charm for him. That isn’t meant to be the intention of his appearances though. Last time he appeared in DDT he was invited by Tetsuya Endo to give advice for fighting against Akiyama.

Yuki Ueno briefly had the DDT Universal Title returned to him during today’s press conference. Hisaya Imabayashi convinced Daisuke Sasaki to send the belt back in order to sign the match contract but Sasaki did not attend the signing. Instead he sent a video message that Ueno watched. That turned out to be a trap and Sasaki was in the room all along! He ambushed Ueno, stole the belt and ran off with it yet again!

Saki Akai is determined to win the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles and silence those who are uncomfortable with her wrestling against men. Like Yuji Hino for example. He thinks having a woman on the team is like taking part in a Handicap match. Akai admits she is afraid of taking Chops from Yuji Hino (and he swears he won’t Chop her because it would result in murder) but she needs to overcome those fears to become a champion again. Yukio Sakaguchi credits Akai for burning a fire within himself and Kazusada Higuchi that they have been missing recently. That has been shown during Sakaguchi’s clashes with Soma Takao. They may have to face a cruel reality though. Endo has warned that he has only gotten better since the title match was put together. DAMNATION’s comments made Akai mad and she slapped the rest of Eruption to fire them up.

There has been an attempt by DDT recently to put together more hardcore matches. Jun Kasai has watched some and feels lukewarm towards them. They’re a bit too relaxed for his tastes. But rumours are going around that Kasai has a low pain threshold for stepping on Lego. Shunma Katsumata brought it up and Kasai avoided the topic by saying he never feels pain when he is in front of an audience. MAO wants to prove there is nothing “relaxed” about DDT’s hardcore style. Chris Brookes thinks he is being ignored because he doesn’t feature in the hype video for the match.

The youngsters from the DDT Teenage Project want to make an impact. Ilusion promises to make that impact and be the standout of the match so he can become the symbol of the project. El Unicorn is the smallest wrestler in the match but wants to be in the ring with the likes of Yuji Okabayashi and Naomi Yoshimura. They’re not the only teenagers in the match. Reimu Imai is 16 years old and looks forward to hitting the larger opponents with all he’s got. TAMURA is fascinated to see how these teenagers will fare. HARASHIMA is excited to see DDT run a big show outdoors and it reminds him of the other outdoor shows DDT has held throughout his time with them.

Makoto is also sticking around for a while as part of Yamagata’s group. That’s a woman with a lot of different links and connections in the industry so not all of her matches will be attached to the Manase/Yamagata feud.

After winning the Tokyo Princess Cup she will now face Miyu Yamashita for the Princess Of Princess Title at Ota Ward Gymnasium. Yamashita is amazed at how strong Itoh has become and she wants to beat this version of her. They’ve had several singles matches before including two Princess Title bouts and Itoh has never won any of them. They also team together as 121000000 but Itoh thought they should disband. Yamashita talked her out of it because it wouldn’t make a difference to the match. Therefore there’s no need to split the team up.

Yuki Arai is confirmed to be on the show.

3. This Time, A Special Tag Match To Celebrate Katsumura & Haruhi’s Tournament Victory: Shuichiro Katsumura & Moeka Haruhi defeated Tanomusaku Toba & Miyako Matsumoto when Haruhi submitted Matsumoto with the Excruciating Technique (12:56).
4. Ganjo Special Tag Match: Yuu Yamagata & Makoto defeated Yuna Manase & HARUKAZE when Yamagata pinned HARUKAZE with the Somato (12:42).

The friendship between Yuna Manase & HARUKAZE is falling apart at the seams. Their teamwork self destructed in the main event when Manase accidentally hit her teammate twice. The first time happened when Yuu Yamagata dodged an Elbow Strike and HARUKAZE got hit behind her. The second time Yamagata purposely pushed Manase into HARUKAZE. Later when Manase called for her partner’s help, HARUKAZE instead hit her with the Fire Spear! Makoto flattened Manase with the W.W.Knee and Yamagata followed up with the Somato to win the match while HARUKAZE stood by.

After the match Yamagata welcomed HARUKAZE to her side and they left with Makoto. Manase was left alone to cry in the ring until Moeka Haruhi came down to comfort her. With Haruhi’s encouragement Manase promised to get revenge on Yamagata and Makoto to bring back her friend HARUKAZE! Backstage, HARUKAZE explained she made her decision to join Yamagata so she can become stronger under her teachings. Yamagata assured her she did not lose today.

The “Excruciating Technique” Haruhi used to submit Miyako Matsumoto is a Cross-Arm Backslide submission hold. Haruhi has not given the hold an official name yet.

A press conference was held today covering some of the important “WRESTLE PETER PAN 2021” matches. Konosuke Takeshita admitted that losing twice to Jun Akiyama is what helped make him come into this match as a much better wrestler. He wants to win the KO-D Openweight Title and say with pride that “DDT has Takeshita.” Akiyama said that although his opponent is bigger and stronger, he’s going to show him what happens when the feelings in your heart and mind prevail. Akiyama won the previous two matches by submission but will take winning the third match by pinfall if he has to.

Daisuke Sasaki was able to appear on Zoom (goofy background and all) because he is finishing up his quarantine period. His physical absence from the press conference annoyed Yuki Ueno even more because Sasaki still has the stolen DDT Universal Title.

Sanshiro Takagi explained that when students from the DDT Teenage Project turn 20 years old they will become full time members of DDT. Their school education is given priority so will not be wrestling on every show. El Unicorn said he’s been recently inspired by Momiji Nishiya, the 13 year old skateboarder who won gold at the Olympics. Ilusion said he wants to become a big name worldwide. Both of them are just as focused on fighting the big names in their match as they are fighting each other.

Yesterday Atsushi Onita gathered his team together at a parking lot in Chiba to demonstrate the explosions that will be happen for their match. A watermelon was meant to be used as the target. Kuro-chan and his group interrupted the scene and attacked Onita’s team. Super Sasadango Machine smashed the watermelon over Sanshiro Takagi’s head while Akito & Maki Itoh were both taken care of. Kuro-chan & Hikari Noa then grabbed an explosive barbed wire bat and blasted Onita with it. Kuro-chan added insult to injury by pinning Onita while Sasadango counted to three. Kuro-chan promised to retire Onita and take over the rights to explosion death matches!

Whatever happened between them resulted in them now teaming together. Miss Mongol usually has Shota’s number when they fight each other and Yumehito Imanari isn’t going to be distracted by any Pocchari Joshi shenanigans.

Yuki Arai’s first match in Nagoya is a big enough deal to main event the show because Nagoya is the home of SKE48. She will team with her mentor Miyu Yamashita against Yuki Aino & Moka Miyamoto. Another SKE48 member Shiori Aoki will be on commentary for the match.

Maki Itoh suffered a fractured left cheekbone in her Tokyo Princess Cup Quarter Final match. It will take two to four weeks for it to heal but she will definitely wrestle on 14th August. She will miss this Saturday’s show though.

The semi final draw was held and the matchups are confirmed. Itoh is confident she will be fully healed in time to face Mizuki in the main event. Overcoming the pain is what makes Itoh stronger and this is the opponents she wants more than anyone else. Mizuki is aiming for the three-peat and has never lost to Itoh before. Winning this match will give her the confidence she needs to win the final 24 hours later. Miu Watanabe is now four years into her pro wrestling career and has fallen in love with it. She also revealed the idol she looks up to most is Mayu Watanabe from AKB48. Her opponent Shoko Nakajima reaches the final four once again but she isn’t taking it for granted. Tokyo Joshi Pro has grown so much over the years that it motivates her to be the best again.

Yuka Sakazaki has her first match back in Japan since coming home from the latest AEW tour.

A few other return appearances brings the Rika Tatsumi Vs NEO Biishiki-gun feud back to life. Yukio Saint Laurent and Antonio Honda get involved again. The only difference is instead of a zombie we get Pom Harajuku.

In a press conference today the participants of both title matches got to speak. The KO-D Tag Team Titles match will be Yusuke Okada’s first championship shot in DDT since he signed with the company. Jun Akiyama is looking forward to teaming with his student and trusts him enough to let him do his stuff. Shunma Katsumata is determined not to lose the titles in his first defence. He also wants to pin Akiyama again like he did at the Ultimate Tag League. His partner Konosuke Takeshita said he will focus on Akiyama because he can rely on Katsumata to win the match if it comes down to him. The match serves as a clash of different wrestling styles and philosophies. Takeshita says there is no correct answer for pro wrestling that applies to everybody. Akiyama disagrees because he thinks the Giant Baba style that he learned has all of the right answers. Baba’s way is the correct way and the proof is in Akiyama being the current KO-D Openweight Champion.

The Olympic atmosphere in Japan has inspired Shinya Aoki to defend the DDT Extreme Title against MAO in a Hardcore Judo match. Aoki and MAO aren’t sure themselves what the rules are in a Hardcore Judo match but they are excited to do it.

Voice actor Tetsu Inada will be involved with the Hiragana Muscle shows in September. His work includes shows from the Gundam and Super Robot Wars series. He also voiced MAO in the Kemono Michi anime DDT was involved with back in 2019. That’s not all. He has also been the voice in DDT’s opening videos for the last year.

It is a match Yuna Manase originally wanted at “CYBERFIGHT FESTIVAL 2021” but it never came to be. She wants a singles match against Saki Akai so much she crashed a DDT show to demand it. Akai doesn’t have any strong feelings about her opponent. She remembers the year she debuted people online were hoping the two of them would team together but other than that they are from completely different parts of the wrestling scene. Akai recently wrestled in Ganpro and felt everyone there has passion but it went away very quickly. If Manase’s fire is red then Akai’s fire is blue and that is much more hotter.
