Well, Yoshiko Hasegawa said she wanted to fight everyone in Tokyo Joshi Pro before she retires so TJPW made sure nobody will be left out of her final match. It is a 1 Vs 27 Handicap Match but only one person on the team of 27 is allowed in the ring at one time and tags are in effect. It has not been decided yet how many falls the match will consist of. One definitely won’t be enough and previous retirement matches of this scale have done three falls.

TOKYO JOSHI PRO “QUERI PRESENTS TJPW LIVE IN HOUSTON – NIGHT 2”, 11/07/2025
POST, Houston, Texas, USA

An extra name has been added to the Texas tour. Wakana Uehara will be part of the weekend and there might be a good reason why. All of a sudden Miyu Yamashita is no longer able to perform on the 11th July show. That just so happens to be the same day as the next Ring Of Honor PPV and she has started appearing on their shows again. I mean it’s either that or she’s taking a flight to Tennessee for Smackdown (I kid, I kid). Yamashita will still be at the morning fan event in Houston.

1. DDT Extreme Title: To-y (c) Vs Hikaru Sato

The new DDT Extreme Champion put up a poll on Twitter asking fans who he should defend the title against first? To-y narrowed the choices down to wrestlers who have at least 5,000 followers and made fans choose between Yasu Urano, Kentaro Hachisu, Hikaru Sato and Mikiya Sasaki (with Shota in his corner). Sato won the vote pretty handily so he gets the title match. It wouldn’t be the first time a fan vote results in Sato winning a DDT championship.

6. Special Tag Team Match: Yuji Nagata & Tatsuhito Takaiwa defeated Shuichiro Katsumura & Keisuke Ishii when Nagata pinned Katsumura with the Back Drop Hold (14:19).
7. Spirit Of Ganbare World Openweight Title: Yumehito Imanari (c) defeated Shinichiro Tominaga with the Lariat (20:32).
*V4 for Yumehito Imanari.

After 16 months away from pro wrestling’s sacred venue, Ganbare☆Pro finally returned to Korakuen Hall today for the first time since becoming an independent company away from CyberFight. When the dust settled in the main event, Yumehito Imanari remained as the man to continue leading GanPro as its champion. His match against Shinichiro Tominaga came down to Power Bombs and Lariats with neither wanting to stay down for the count. Imanari’s Lariat turned out to be the stronger one and he was able to put Tominaga away to keep the Spirit Of Ganbare World Title. Imanari told Tominaga it’s been 15 years since they were struggling amateur pro wrestlers trying to make a documentary together and it is a miracle that both of them just headlined a Korakuen show together. He wants to savor the afterglow of today before he thinks about who should challenge him next. Tominaga pointed out this was only his third match since returning from his torn Achilles tendon back in January and everyone’s hard work pushed him forward towards giving 120% today.

Yuji Nagata was feeling pumped up to wrestle on the show. One of his opponents Shuichiro Katsumata was looking to get revenge on him for losing an MMA fight to his brother Katsuhiko Nagata way back in 2006. But he had to deal with Tatsuhito Takaiwa too and even with Keisuke Ishii’s help couldn’t take it. Takaiwa gave Katsumura the Death Valley Bomb, Nagata hit him with a Knee Strike and then got the win with the Back Drop Hold. Nagata then offered to shake Ishii’s hand after the match but Ishii slapped it away. Nagata told reporters he remembers the MMA fight his brother had with Katsumura but he never knew Katsumura became a pro wrestler until his first time working with GanPro last year. He also remembered it’s been over 20 years since he last teamed up with Takaiwa. He has fond memories of them going out drinking and Takaiwa laughing at Nagata’s belly getting bloated from drinking so much. After three decades of wrestling he wants to experience more kinds of pro wrestling which is why he’s been taking more bookings outside of New Japan lately.

Bad memories of Ken Ohka’s days training under the Toryumon banner swirled through his head when he fought Masaaki Mochizuki. Unfortunately Mochizuki cannot say the same because he didn’t even know Ohka was there back then. But he knows Ohka has been involved with wrestling for around 25 years now so he should forget about that past and focus on what he is representing in the present. Ohka’s not the only one who is getting old so Mochizuki wants to know if he wants to continue fighting him? Ohka gave him a slap in response. Mochizuki then said he’s not the kind of person who hits people back when provoked but if the GanPro fans enjoyed today’s match then maybe they can do it again in front of a younger audience at Dragongate.

There was a reunion of Stardom’s 5th Generation when Yuna Manase invited Koguma & Hazuki over to face a trio representing the Ganbare☆Joshi division. She also remembered her “little sister” Ami Manase was back in GanPro after a long absence. FWC did their thing to keep YuuRI & Moeka Haruhi at bay while Yuna pinned her masked “sister” with a Lariat. Manase thanked FWC and Stardom’s president for letting the two of them come to wrestle in GanPro today even when Stardom had a show of their own happening in Aichi. Hazuki was happy to team up with Manase but Koguma said next time she would like FWC to wrestle against her. Manase likes the idea and thinks a tag match like that would do YuuRI some good too. She’ll think about it because maybe it can be something that can be done for GanJo in the future.

It doesn’t seem like anyone could come back from a ruptures Achilles tendon injury in just four months but Mizuki Watase did just that. He didn’t want to take it easy just because his first match back was an 8-Man Tag either. He got the win by pinning Shota Kawakami with the Modified TTD and was then welcomed back by Shigehiro Irie. The two of them are still the reigning Spirit Of Ganbare World Tag Team Champions so they want to start defending them again soon. Watase said he wants to defend the titles at four times the normal speed to make up for lost time. Yasu Urano & PSYCHO overheard their comments and asked if Watase is really at 100%. Watase said his injury is totally fine but he is feeling pain from his muscles cramping up. Urano then challenged him for the SOG Tag Titles and wants the match to happen as soon as possible. They’ll have to wait a while but the two teams agreed to have the title match on 5th May.

The fighting between Toru Sugiura & Munetatsu Nakamura and the Hentai Punch Drunkers got so heated that it kept going once the match had finished. Nakamura tried to give Hikaru Sato the German Suplex but Tyson Maeguchi cut him off with an Enzuigiri and Sato stretched him out with the Arm Bar for the win. But even though the music played, the two sides kept fighting.

HARUZAKE still has not won a match by herself ever since GanPro went independent. With only a few matches left until she takes a break from pro wrestling she has come up with a drastic decision for her final match. There is only one person in the world she thinks she can beat now and that’s Ken Ohka! They will have a singles match against each other on 5th May.

The next time GanPro is in Korakuen Hall will be on 26th August. The main event will be Mizuki Watase’s 10th anniversary match. He will face Jun Kasai in a Fluorescent Lighttube Death Match!

6. Special Single Match: Jun Kasai defeated Maki Itoh with the Pearl Harbor Splash (17:17).
7. Special Tag Match – Falls Count Anywhere Match: Yuji Nagata & Kuroshio TOKYO Japan defeated Brahman Shu & Brahman Kei when Nagata submitted Kei with the Arm Lock (16:36).

The recent stretch of wrestling events held at Tokyo Ueno Park was completed today with the debut show for MatchMake & Agent Pro Wrestling. The series was put together by Sanshiro Takagi to celebrate his 30th anniversary in wrestling this year by booking shows without using full time DDT talent. The planned schedule is to run these kind of shows once every two months at least for the rest of the year. With a wide range of connections at his disposal Takagi put together an entire card of first times matchups. He also treated the show like a startup and due to a lack of staff decided to work as a ringside attendant for every match today.

The main event was revealed to be a Falls Count Anywhere match right before it begun. Yuji Nagata & Kuroshio TOKYO Japan continued their new Ikemen tag team and fought fire with fire against The Brahman Brothers. Kuroshio played the song “Keep On Journey” by The Sailor Boys over the speakers to cause massive pcychic damage to The Brahmans (they hate to be reminded of that gimmick). Takagi got caught in the crossfire and ended up getting a bucket of ink poured over his head while Kuroshio and Brahman Shu was fighting over it. Brahman Kei regurgitated green goo from his mouth and drooled it over Nagata. But Nagata grabbed him in the Arm Lock, went into his trance and started regurgitating blue goo from his mouth in response! Kei had no way to combat this and had to give up.

After the match Kuroshio said today he learned that Nagata is the best in the industry and also the best ikemen. He gave Nagata his jacket for him to pose in for the fans when Takagi interrupted them. He told Nagata there is someone backstage who really wants to fight him. It’s Ken Ohka! After Ohka made his entrance he told Nagata he created Ganbare☆Pro 11 years ago to turn pro wrestling into a major sport but he also wanted to be a great wrestler ever since he ws a child. That dream never came true but he wants to challenge “Mr. IWGP” anyway. Takagi confirmed the match will happen on 25th June.

The match between Maki Itoh and Jun Kasai was supposed to be held under normal rules but the two of them treated it like a Hardcore Match. Itoh used her pizza cutter to draw blood from Kasai’s foreheard. Kasai brought out a forkboard only for Itoh to Power Bomb him onto it. Itoh then felt the pain when Kasai stuck a bundle of bamboo skewers onto her head and hit a Lariat. Itoh kicked out of the Reverse Tiger Driver and stuck up her middle finger. Kasai got a kick out of that and shouted out El Desperado’s name before giving Itoh the Pinche Loco. He then won with the Pearl Harbor Splash. He told Itoh afterwards he was going to stick her middle finger up her nose but he isn’t in the mood now. Instead he will raise his index finger to Itoh because she is the No. 1 entertainer wrestler! Itoh said she will definitely surpass Kasai someday. She also said the fans in attendance must be really weird people to come out to a place like this on a Wednesday night. But no matter what happens he encourages them to stick up the middle finger in their hearts.

The KO-D Tag Team Titles match fell apart when the referee kept getting attacked by the wrestlers and put in submissions holds. With him out of the way. Astronauts and SEX-MEN ended up fighting around ringside. During the chaos Hikaru Sato disappeared only for Takagi to show up wearing his wrestling gear and take his place! Takagi & Munenori Sawa teamed up for the first time in years but Astronauts easily launched a counter attack and won the match when Fuminori Abe made his mentor Sawa give up to the O-Manjigatame. Takuya Nomura said they still have a long way to go to break the championship record for most defences. Abe suggested they go find some old guys and beat them.

Panda defeated snake on Match #4. Poison Sawada JULIE was able to stun Andreza Giant Panda with his snake magic but it could only work for so long until Andreza Headbutted him and won with a Body Press. JULIE got a little measure of revenge on Takagi after the match by using his snake magic to throw him to the canvas.

The show introduced Takagi’s attempt at copying the WWE Speed formula called 3 Minutes Impact. Shigehiro Irie defeated Ryoma Tsukamoto in a match Takagi recorded on his phone to stream on DDT’s Twitter account.

Mio Shirai was quickly put into an irritated mood for her match, complaining about Takagi missing Yumiko Hotta’s chain while taking away her entrance gear and calling Miku Kanae ugly while fighting her. She also kept breaking up Hotta’s pins on Saran but Hotta was able to get the win in the end. Hotta praised Shirai for her performance after the match and said she was right to come back to wrestling. She admits she even could have lost to her today if she underestimated her. The two agreed to fight again some day.

The spirit of Dory Funk Jr. was on display in the opening match when Mikiya Sasaki used that kind of moveset against Shota. In a back and forth match Shota countered a Sleeper Hold into a Roll Up to get the win. Sasaki was still in Dory Funk mode after the match and hit Shota with a series of Dory style punches.

At the start of the show Takagi announced that Suwama Vs Muscle Sakai will happen on the 25th June show.

6. KO-D Tag Team Titles: Fuminori Abe & Takuya Nomura (c) defeated Shinya Aoki & Keigo Nakamura when Abe pinned Nakamura with the O-Manji Clutch (11:46).
*V1 for Astronauts.
7. KO-D Openweight Title: Chris Brookes (c) defeated Yuya Koroku with the Praying Mantis Bomb (23:38).
*V4 for Chris Brookes.

Today was Yuya Koroku’s big chance to step up and prove to Chris Brookes that he is not a generic Tetsuya Endo but the man who will lead DDT’s new generation. He didn’t have Brookes’s respect at the start though. Brookes threw a chair at him to stop a dive and targeted the leg to keep him grounded. When Koroku found an opening to go on the attack he went after Brookes’s arm. However the damage done to his leg came back to haunt him when he did the Sky Twister Press and was slow enough to go for the cover that Brookes could kick out of it. The frustration got to Koroku and he shouted “I am not Endo”, leaving his guard down for Brookes to slap him senseless. From there Brookes did the Somato but Koroku kicked out at one. Brookes then stunned Koroku with a Buzzsaw Kick and pinned him with the Praying Mantis Bomb to retain the KO-D Openweight Title.

After the match Brookes finally paid Koroku some respect. He spent all this time badmouthing him but admitted today was fun. Now Brookes is looking forward to winning this year’s King Of DDT so he can choose his next challenger for the KO-D Title. He celebrated the win by sharing drinks with Antonio Honda & Takeshi Honda. They brought a spare can into the ring for the injured Masahiro Takanashi. Backstage the three of them wondered what could happen if the King Of DDT final is between two wrestlers from SCHADENFREUDE International? Meanwhile Koroku said he has learned something from this period of his career. Between this title match and getting to wrestle in New Japan a few days ago, he realized he can’t think of himself as a junior wrestler forever. Today he fought to the end believing in the wrestling he loves. He promises he will come back to this stage and win the KO-D Title.

A tough challenge was given to Astronauts for their first KO-D Tag Team Titles defence. Shinya Aoki & Keigo Nakamura has been working well together as a teacher and student pairing. They also matched the champions strike for strike, hold for hold. There was a moment where Fuminori Abe put Nakamura in the Manjigatame so Aoki did the same to Takuya Nomura. The two then had a strike exchange while still applying the submission holds on the others. Aoki & Nakamura got the upper hand by giving Astronauts stereo Piledrivers. But when Nakamura went to finish Abe off with the Full Nelson Hold, Abe countered it into the O-Manjigatame and modified the submission into a cradle to pin Nakamura for the three count. Astronauts now want to break the record for most KO-D Tag Title defences but found out the current record is held by Sanshiro Takagi & Munenori Sawa at 12 wins. Astronauts just so happen to have a tag match against Sawa & Hikaru Sato (together known as SEX-MEN) coming up at Takagi’s MatchMake & Agent show on Wednesday so they now want to make it a title match!

It’s not often when Minoru Suzuki meets his match in the wrestling ring. It’s even more weird when the person he’s in a stalemate with is Danshoku Dieno! Suzuki did not want to deal with Dieno’s usual shenanigans during their tag match. He asked Dieno if he wants to do the same stuff he’s been doing for 20 years or if he wants to fight? Dieno took Suzuki’s comments to heart and decided to pull his tights back up in order to give Suzuki the serious fight he’s been asking for. The two of them tangled themselves into dueling Leg Locks that rolled them out of the ring. They brawled up among the fans while HARASHIMA and Yuki Ueno fought each other by the stage. As the referee was reaching the 20 count, HARASHIMA & Ueno rushed back into the ring. However neither of them were the legal man meaning Dieno and Suzuki got each other counted out for a draw!

Both were still hurting from the fight when they got back into the ring. Dieno straight up told Suzuki he wants to keep fighting so he challenged him to a singles match. Suzuki wanted to know what is with this company when they’re first putting him in a match against a doll and now in a match with Dieno? At least he enjoys teaming with Ueno and would be happy to keep doing that. He can’t tell if Dieno is serious because fighting Suzuki one on one means it is a fight to the death! Dieno understands that and is willing to throw away the Danshoku moveset so he can have a match with Suzuki. Hisaya Imabayashi agreed to book it for 25th May. Dieno then had a close staredown with Suzuki and resisted the temptation to give him the Lip Lock. Then when Suzuki left the ring Yoshihiko appeared from the balcony and lowered itself down to the entrance aisle. Suzuki no sold it and pushed Yoshihiko aside as he walked back to the locker room.

KANON showed up for his Handicap Match against DAMNATION T.A in new ring gear to show he is now fully separated from the unit. Hideki Okatani also had new gear for his comeback match but that was to show he has fully embraced becoming DAMNATION T.A’s newest member. The match was supposed to be just KANON fighting both Okatani & Daisuke Sasaki but the other DAMNATION T.A members unsurprisingly got involved. MJ Paul and Ilusion did what they could to interfere while Sasaki distracted the referee. KANON put up a valiant fight until Sasaki hit him with a chair and Okatani pinned him with a Vertical Drop Brainbuster.

After the match Sasaki said KANON is no longer of any interest to them but Okatani wanted to give him one last finishing blow. KANON blocked Okatani’s chair attack but couldn’t fight back against the numbers. Suddenly a mystery person looking like Kyonin Shihan from IWA Japan ran into the ring and cleared DAMNATION T.A out of it. The person then turned to KANON and offered to help him stand back up. He then removed his disguise to reveal he is MAO! KANON accepted his help and the two left ringside together. Backstage MAO explained that KANON is not an unwanted child because MAO needs him. He always wanted them to team up because KANON is the only one he feels can help him turn DDT upside down in one go. KANON noted that MAO has a busy schedule coming up so while MAO is away, KANON promises he will become somebody worthy enough to be by his side. MAO said they can spread a Strange Love Connection across wrestling. KANON misunderstood and said he only knows “Bad Communication”…

Young Daichi Sato is now DDT’s latest signing so leave it up to Jun Akiyama to try and kill him on his first day. Akiyama gave him a Piledriver, threw him into the corner post, hit him with Knee Strikes including one with the kneepad pulled down and also made contact with a Headbutt. Sato got to show how tough he is to kick out of pins and fight back with Middle Kicks but Akiyama eventually put him down with the Exploder Suplex. He encouraged Sato to get back up under his own power after the match. Sato did so and hit Akiyama with an Elbow Strike. Akiyama ignored it and walked off. He told reporters backstage that Sato needs to build up more stamina because if he can throw a Forearm Strike after the match then he should have done it during the match. Sato admits he was no match against Akiyama but he wants to grow in DDT and become a wrestler who will surpass Akiyama.

The masked dancer Kumadori returned to DDT for his second ever wrestling match. He had to deal with NωA Jr. who felt his abilities were overshadowing their own musical talent. Kazuki Hirata was on Kumadori’s team but put forth such a weak performance he came close to costing his team the win on several occasions. But when Shunma Katsumata declared that the era of TOKYO GO! is over, Hirata found it in himself to fight back with the power of dance. Yuni & Kazuma Sumi joined Katsumata for a singalong but that was countered by MAO & Kumadori joining in with Hirata’s dancing. A dance battle broke out between the two teams and Katsumata succeeded in pinning Hirata with an Inside Cradle for the victory.

After the match Katsumata signaled to Kumadori that he wants to wrestle him again. He then announced that NωA Jr.’s second single called “Oshi Towel de Blow Off Lucha♪” will be released on 6th May. Suddenly Sanshiro Takagi came out and told NωA Jr. the harsh reality. They made 10,000 copies of their first single and only sold 800 of them. The reason for that is because the unit does not have a clear goal. Takagi came up with a solution because he wants to see NωA Jr. win the New Artist Award at the next Japan Record Awards. So Takagi booked an NωA Jr. at Shinjuku Loft on 23rd December and their goal is to sell it out!

All of Harimao were reunited for Naomi Yoshimura’s long awaited return from injury. Yukio Naya wasted no time in calling Yoshimura to start the match against him. To-y was eager to get “T! O! Y!” chants going but Ryota Nakatsu wanted to replace it with “N! K! T!” chants. Takeshi Masada Power Bombed Yuki Ishida into the turnbuckles but was thrown aside by Yoshimura with the Harai Goshi. JJ Furno came close to winning when he hit the Firebird Splash on Kazusada Higuchi but the count was broken up by the rest of Harimao. Higuchi then caught Furno on a dive and gave him the Claw Slam for the finish. It was as good a result that Harimao could ask for because Yoshimura is back and Higuchi got his first direct win since returning too. Yoshimura said his goal is to help Harimao in both DDT and BASARA. This match was Furno’s last appearance in DDT for this tour. He is sure this isn’t the end of him coming here. He says next time he comes to DDT he won’t be coming alone.

In the dark match Toru Owashi wanted to show off his lucha skills against DAMNATION T.A. Honda tried to use the power of love by forming a heart with Owashi using their hands. Paul & Ilusion attacked them only to almost embrace with each other. Honda’s plan didn’t work in the end. Instead Paul & Ilusion squashed him with a Double Body Press and Ilusion went on to pin him with the Swanton Bomb.

The show ended with the King Of DDT 1st Round matches begin announced. The matches taking place on 6th May are Antonio Honda Vs Yuki Ueno, Daisuke Sasaki Vs Akito, KANON Vs Shunma Katsumata, Yukio Naya Vs Daichi Sato, Hideki Okatani Vs To-y, Chris Brookes Vs HARASHIMA, Takeshi Masada Vs Yuya Koroku and Shinya Aoki Vs Kazusada Higuchi.

5. Special Single Match: Tetsuya Endo defeated Yuya Koroku with an Exploder Suplex (13:50).
6. Special Tag Match: KONOSUKE TAKESHITA & Jun Akiyama defeated Yuki Iino & Yukio Naya when TAKESHITA pinned Iino with the Raging Fire (18:46).
7. KO-D Openweight Title Next Challenger 4 Way Match: Shuji Ishikawa defeated Danshoku Dieno, HARASHIMA and KANON when Ishikawa pinned KANON with the Splash Mountain (13:20).

A new year brings new challenges. The main event for DDT’s first show of 2025 was a 4 Way Match to determine the No. 1 Contender for the KO-D Openweight Title. The four competitors all have never faced Chris Brookes for the title before so whoever wins would be a brand new challenger for the champion. Danshoku Dieno was extra grabby than usual given the amount of people in the match and Shuji Ishikawa became everyone’s target for being the biggest threat. HARASHIMA almost beat him with the Somato and same went for Dieno using the Gaydo Clutch on him. KANON attacked Dieno in the corner and left him knocked over in the Hell Gate position. That came back to haunt KANON because Ishikawa lifted him up and drove him head first into Dieno’s backside. KANON got revenge by giving Ishikawa the Sleepy Hollow but he only got a two count out of it. Ishikawa returned the attack by giving KANON the Fire Thunder on top of Dieno’s butt. Ishikawa later cut off Dieno with a Knee Lift and pinned KANON with the Splash Mountain to win the match.

Ishikawa told Brookes after the match that he’s wanted a real singles match with him after they wrestled each other in Osaka last May. He knows Brookes is at his strongest whenever he fights for the KO-D Title. So Ishikawa will face him head to head and beat him at his strongest to become the new champion! Brookes told Ishikawa this will be the most interesting title defence. Ishikawa is a little scary but he will be looking forward to fighting him. Ishikawa then promised when he beats Brookes to a pulp on 26th January he will take the belt and sing karaoke in the ring once more to celebrate!

Konosuke Takeshita started a busy weekend by returning to DDT once more with Don Callis joining him. Waiting for him were two heavyweights each hungry to surpass him. Takeshita teamed with Jun Akiyama for the match but it felt more like a 2-Vs-1 Handicap match because Yuki Iino & Yukio Naya were both determined to beat Takeshita directly. They worked together to try and break down Takeshita. Iino hit the Burning Elbow but Takeshita hit him back with the Knee Strike. Naya Choke Slammed Takeshita but Akiyama got in and threw him with the Exploder Suplex. That left Iino to fight Takeshita by himself. He hit two Spears but Takeshita blocked a third one and used the Raging Fire to pin him straight away. Takeshita’s message to his opponents is to never forget how they feel today. The big wrestlers need to train and work 100 times harder than the smaller wrestlers. It’s up to them to make that their weakness or their weapon. Takeshita also gave his support to Tetsuya Endo for his excursion to NOAH. His message to him is putting your life on the line is life changing and he looks forward to seeing him rise up from here. Iino said he is having a great time fighting tough heavyweights like Takeshita and Tomohiro Ishii. Naya promised to avenge this loss to Takeshita when DDT goes back to America in April!

This week is the last we will see Tetsuya Endo in DDT for a while. He made the decision to go wrestle in NOAH for the foreseeable future (he will still be DDT affiliated when he does). His last DDT match will be on 5th January but before that happened he fought Yuya Koroku today. Iino was at ringside for the match so the three final members of BURNING were together. Koroku targeted Endo’s arm and even went high flying with a Moonsault. But Endo had him done for with the Torture Rack Bomb and Burning Star Press. Rather than pin him with that move, Endo got Koroku back up, told him to do his best while he’s gone and then gave him an Exploder Suplex to win the match.

After the match Endo told Koroku he will be find after the breakup of BURNING. He was able to stand with spirit at the end of the match and if he can keep that up he can do it alone from now on. BURNING is gone but Endo will never forget the three years he spent with Iino & Koroku. Endo will now be wrestling in NOAH but that doesn’t mean he is leaving DDT. Once he takes the top spot in NOAH he will come back to take the top sport in DDT! He told Iino and Koroku to get stronger because the next time they fight it will be when the KO-D title on the line!

Match #4 had a pair of unusual appearances in it. First Hikaru Sato came in on short notice to replace Takeshi Masada who was out with a suspected fever. Also Bryce Remsburg from AEW served as the referee for the bout. Sato got involved with CDK’s prank team work while Remsburg was tricked by the other team into taking part in the reversal. Shinya Aoki got to tussle with Sato and also hit a Topé Suicida to everyone outside. Keigo Nakamura missed a Diving Headbutt aimed for Brookes but kicked out of a Piledriver. Brookes then put him in the Octopus Stretch and increased the pressure until Nakamura gave up.

Some French flavour was added to the proceedings with a BZW Tag Team Titles defence. MAO & Yoshihiko came into the match as champions ready to fight the just as wacky pairing of Kazuki Hirata & Antonio Honda. Yoshihiko interrupted Honda’s Gongitsune spot by using AI to come up with its own folk tale to tell everybody. Yoshihiko also grabbed the legs of both opponents and held them in a Double Achilles Tendon Hold called the Arc de Triomphe Hold. The challengers couldn’t withstand the pain and gave up. MAO wants to defend the titles even more and called out teams from any country to come challenge them.

DAMNATION T.A took out a team of youngsters early in the card. Daichi Sato wanted to go toe-to-toe against the similarly sized MJ Paul. The two ended up fighting towards the commentary table where voice actress Hana Hishikawa was sitting as a special guest. She is a notable fan of Paul so he was happy to take a quick time out to go shake her hand before continuing his fight with Sato. Kazuma Sumi and Demus continued their little rivalry with quick exchanges in the ring. Daisuke Sasaki led a train attack on Yuki Ishida and despite a small comeback from Ishida, Ilusion ended up pinning him with the Swanton Bomb.

For the opening match Akito asked Sanshiro Takagi to come down to the ring and come up with a theme for the match. Takagi decided the winner would receive a New Year’s Gift from him taken from his own pocket. The promise of a rich prize was just the encouragement everyone needed to do their best. Toru Owashi and To-y got into a Chop Battle, Super Sasadango Machine and Soma Takao did whatever they could to win and Tomomitsu Matsunaga threw Lariats at whoever was near him friend of foe. In the end To-y pinned Matsunaga with the Kojima Impact and received 10,000 yen from Takagi as his prize. Everyone then tried to attack Takagi for the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title until he ran off.

*V6 for Yuki Ueno.

The story of MAO running away from The 37KAMIINA has come to an end. He wasn’t able to win the KO-D Openweight Title from Yuki Ueno after all but it still became a happy ending for everyone involved with the group. The two went all out against each other both inside and out of the ring. Over on the ramp Ueno gave MAO the Canadian Destroyer only for MAO to fire back with the same move. Ueno rolled off the ramp afterwards so MAO reached out and helped him back to the ring so the match wouldn’t end by countout. Ueno dodged the Phoenix Splash and used the Jul.2 for a nearfall. Then there was a trade off between Ueno’s Blackout Sleeper and MAO’s Just Face Lock. There was then a battle of Dropkicks with both wrestlers using the move on each other again and again. MAO used the Iai Kick but only got a two count. Instead Ueno got him in the WR to pin him and retain the championship.

After the match Ueno gave MAO a hug. He said that whenever he feels exhausted or loses his confidence, he will look at MAO to become an even better man. He is sure MAO feels the same way about him. Today he is glad he put his life on the line in Sumo Hall to fight MAO for DDT’s greatest championship. However MAO declined to shake Ueno’s hand and he left the ring. Ueno still praised him for being a free spirit and if he can beat somebody like him then he can beat anybody. Ueno then called Shinya Aoki to the ring and nominated him as his next challenger for the KO-D Title. Aoki said that ever since his fight against Kazushi Sakuraba in 2015, the next opponent and place he wanted to get the most is Yuki Ueno in DDT. Hisaya Imabayashi endorsed the challenge and announced the title match will take place on 25th August.

Ueno closed out the day by telling the fans he and DDT will continue to show everyone their dreams in the ring. Ueno left the ring and walked up the ramp where he was suddenly greeted by MAO again. MAO has decided he is no longer running away from home and has returned to The 37KAMIINA! Shunma Katsumata and To-y also appeared alongside them and the four went backstage together. In the hallway they found Konosuke Takeshita waiting for them. He simply gave them a thumbs up and walked away.

Yesterday at a public press conference Chris Brookes and El Desperado agreed that their match today should be held under No DQ Rules. The ring was already armed with a barbed wire board, a fork board and a bunch of plastic cases lying around waiting for the chaos to start. It began with Desperado bringing out two bouquets of flowers and handing one over to Brookes. They then both attacked each other with the bouquets. As the fighting got more intense Desperado busted open Brookes and in return Brookes took out a pair of scissors to cut up his opponent’s mask. Desperado then decided to pull it off and wrestle the rest of the match fully unmasked! A stapler gun was brought in and the two of them stapled each other back and forth all over their bodies. The envelope used for the “DESPE-INVITACIONAL” was also stapled onto them. SCHADENFREUDE International interfered in the match to gang up on Desperado but he fought them off by spraying them with a fire extinguisher. Brookes did the Praying Mantis Bomb but only got a two count while Desperado hit the Mad Splash on top of the barbed wire board for a nearfall. The end came when Desperado gave Brookes the Lip Lock and then dropped him on top of the barbed wire with the Pinche Loco. Brookes said he is frustrated over losing but also happy because he feels so alive after the match. Desperado said he got a great taste of DDT. He does not know if he will ever get another taste but he hopes to do it again some day. However not long after the show New Japan announced that Desperado is taking a leave of absence to recover from injuries. Desperado made it clear on social media that Brookes and the match they had are not at fault for it.

The last few months have seen Tetsuya Endo & Yuki Iino from BURNING feud with Go Shiozaki across DDT and NOAH. It was all building up to the KO-D Tag Team Titles defence here with Shiozaki teaming with Atsushi Kotoge. Since both Endo & Iino were focused on solely beating Shiozaki, Kotoge became frustrated at being ignored. It was on full show here because Kotoge busted himself open from Headbutting Endo too much! Shiozaki was taken out by Iino’s Lariat leaving Endo to fight Kotoge. Endo gave him a Headbutt of his own before doing the Swivel Torture Rack Bomb for a nearfall. He then finished him off with the Burning Star Press for the victory. Iino said he knew how good Shiozaki’s Chops are with those big arms of his but that doesn’t matter because BURNING won in the end. Endo said they won today because of the support from their fans. He is now considering how interesting it would be if BURNING and TEAM NOAH would team up in the future. Iino wants to fight more opponents from more companies to increase the value of the KO-D Tag Titles.

The busy summer Takeshita is taking part in has gone off to a hot start. Yesterday he beat Yota Tsuji in the opening day of the G1 Climax and today he defeated Masato Tanaka in a battle of the Elbow Smashes. It was a rematch of their KO-D Title bout from March 2020 and this time it was Takeshita who was left standing tall. After duelling Elbow Smashes, Takeshita’s ones were the more powerful. He ended up using the move to break down Tanaka and pin him for the three count. With this result Takeshita will now bring this power with him for the rest of the G1. He wants DDT fans to follow him in the tournament with pride and confidence. Tanaka admitted that Takeshita now has the best elbow strikes in the world but he will take that title back from him soon!

After Smile Squash went through all the effort of rescuing the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles from DAMNATION T.A, they’ve only gone and lost the belts back to them! The belts were on the line in a Survival 4 Way Match with other teams of three looking to win the titles for themselves. The 37KAMIINA & Aja Kong beat up Yasu Urano but were the first eliminated thanks to Akito dodging their attacks and pinning To-y with a Stepover Toe Hold. The champions Smile Squash were then surprisingly next to go. HARASHIMA had MJ Paul pinned with the Somato when KANON pulled the referee out of the ring mid-count. Daisuke Sasaki then attacked everyone with a chair then used the Freedom Call with KANON to pin Akito. Antonio Honda had his working boots on today because he successfully performed a Suicide Dive onto everyone out of the ring. He & Masahiro Takanashi also aided Takeshi Masada until he had to go it alone against Sasaki. Paul gave Masada a German Suplex so Sasaki could pin him for a nearfall. Sasaki then used La Mistica Crossface Lock to make Masada give up.

While DAMNATION T.A were celebrating in the ring, Ryuichi “Fire” Kawakami appeared at ringside and climbed in to meet them. He had already caused trouble backstage earlier in the day by attacking Yukio Naya after his match. But Kawakami got into the ring to give Sasaki a hug because he is now joining forces with DAMNATION T.A! Kawakami is ready to bring “FIRE DAMNATION” to DDT and Naya is his first target. Sasaki thinks “FIRE DAMNATION” sounds a little lame but he’s happy to have Kawakami on his side.

After spending so many decades fighting for DDT inside and out of the ring, Sanshiro Takagi is finally ready to take an indefinite break so he can focus on his management duties within CyberFight while taking better care of his health. But first he had one more battle with Danshoku Dieno to get through. During the week he pinned Dieno to take the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title away from him but Dieno won it not too long afterwards. Their match here was a Weapon Rumble. One by one weapons selected by the two wrestlers would be brought down to the ring. Takagi’s first weapon was product placement for Yanekabe Shokunin Goods. Dieno countered that with Yoshihiko along with Muscle Sakai as its handler. Takagi then brought out the Dramatic Dream bike. Dieno shocked Takagi by setting up a retirement ceremony for him. Saki Akai came down to the ring and presented him with gifts as well as a heartfelt speech. Takagi was so touched by the gesture he considered to go ahead with retirement but interrupted the ten bell salute so the match would continue. MIKAMI and Poison Sawada JULIE then ran down to be Takagi’s latest weapons. Dieno had allies of his own in the form of Tokyo Joshi Pro! The group of Miyu Yamashita, Maki Itoh, Mizuki and Yuki Kamifuku all attacked Takagi with some of their signature moves. But when TJPW GM Tetsuya Koda wanted to get his digs in, Hisaya Imabayashi got mad and attacked him! With them out of the way Takagi brought out his golden ace up his sleeve. He brought in a big star from AEWMichael Nakazawa! He came out with his body painted completely gold. Who could Dieno have picked in response to this? It was the actual “Golden Star”, the return of Kota Ibushi to DDT! Ibushi gave Takagi the Kamigoye and Dieno waited for Takagi to get back up so he could finish him off with the Lip Lock and Gotch-Style Danshoku Driver.

After the match Dieno told Takagi that it does not matter if he takes a permanent break or is able to come back and wrestle again. DDT will be fine because Dieno will always be here. Takagi thanked Dieno because without him this dramatic situation would have never taken place today. He thought he would never meet Ibushi inside a DDT ring ever again! DDT went through some tough times after Ibushi left them in 2016 but Ibushi was able to rise higher and higher. Takagi believes if he can still get chances to be in the ring with Ibushi then he will never retire! His wish is to fight Ibushi in a singles match again. Ibushi has a request too. Can he come back to DDT some day? Takagi and Dieno both burst into tears and told him yes because he is family. Backstage Takagi told reporters he really wants Kenny Omega to get recover from his health problems too so he can call him again too.

As mentioned above, Naya’s day at Sumo Hall was ruined by a backstage attack by Kawakami after his match. Before that happened things were going great for Naya. He teamed with Jun Akiyama & Tomomitsu Matsunaga to beat the big name outsider trio of Minoru Suzuki, Shuji Ishikawa & Hikaru Sato. Naya also got the pinfall after he gave Sato the Wrist-Clutch Back Drop. The backstage attack happened during the post-match interview. Naya’s partners had already left the room and he was in the middle of talking about how it is up to him to carry DDT’s heavyweight division due to a number of injuries on the roster. That was when Kawakami burst out from behind the interview curtain and attacked Naya with a chair. He demanded to be booked for more DDT shows or else he will blow more people up!

With so much happening up and down the card, Kazuki Hirata and Super Sasadango Machine were determined to make their match stand out and become the most newsworthy. Sasadango used his PowerPoint presentation to tell everyone about how much social media coverage his recent tag match with Hirata, Takagi and Dieno got because so many shocking incidents took place during it. So he begged the audience to retweet everything that happened here and even made a competition where one lucky fan will win a sirloin steak, shrimp and red snow crab that he all bought with his own money! There were many “shocking incidents” that happened during the match. First there was a Thumb War that was won by Sasadango. Then there was a new finishing move that Hirata created called the Ryogoku Bomber except he couldn’t do it right because of a lack of practice. Sasadango also decided to give away Edameme he brought from Niigata because he wants everyone to know how delicious it is. After that, Hirata tried to turn heel and adopt Masahiro Chono’s theme song as his own. However he didn’t have the heart to attack Sasadango with a barbed wire bat along with some unknown masked lackeys so he went back to being a babyface. Sasadango then suggested they both turn heel together and form an nWo style faction. He pulled off his mask to reveal he had already shaved his head and painted on a beard plus forehead scars to look like Keiji Muto! He went to do the Shining Wizard but Hirata dodged it and pinned Sasadango with a School Boy. Backstage Hirata said he wants to continue doing things in pro wrestling that are unprecedented. Sasadango was angry over Hirata “betraying” him but admitted it felt so good to have a packed Sumo Hall chanting Muto’s name at him. He also credited Minoru Suzuki for giving him the haircut before the match.

During the same week where Hulk Hogan made a show of himself in America’s political landscape, his presence was also felt on a smaller scale in Japan thanks to Shinichiro Kawamatsu. The Japanese politician had the Axe Bomber passed down to him by Hogan earlier this year and today he used the move to win his match. Toru Owashi claimed this was the power of the impromptu tag team of himself, Kawamatsu and Hisamaru Tajima. It may not look like it but there is actually a deep bound between the three of them according to Owashi. He was Tajima’s opponent for Tajima’s debut match back in Toryumon. He has also spent a lot of his life living in Sumida Ward which is also the district Kawamatsu is elected in. The point of the match though is that they along with Makoto Oishi, Soma Takao & Munenori Sawa are all connected to Sanshiro Takagi.

The show kicked off with most of the D GENERATIONS class pitted against each other in a 6-Man Tag Match. It came down to Yuni almost beating Keigo Nakamura with a Moonsault. Nakamura recovered to hit Yuni with a German Suplex, John Woo Dropkick and then the Running Diving Headbutt to win the match for his team. Yuki Ishida & Kazuma Sumi both felt that they did their best to make the show start off on the right foot. Nakamura was also happy to win a match by himself in Sumo Hall for the first time. Yuya Koroku feels the need to start aiming higher since it is almost six months since he returned from injury. Ilusion thinks they should all be showing more energy because they are the future of DDT. Yuni said he wants to main event Sumo Hall one day so he will work hard to achieve that.

DDT returns to Sumo Hall on 28th December for “ULTIMATE PARTY 2024”. In previous years DDT’s last supershow on the calendar would take place in November. However the company wants to take a shot at holding a big arena show at the end of the year.

It was announced that Kaisei Takechi will be returning to DDT for his second pro wrestling match on 29th September. The star from THE RAMPAGE made his debut to much fanfare back in February. He sent a video message explaining his decision to compete in another match is because he believes he has the ability to do more in the ring the second time round. He would also like to continue participating more in wrestling after this match takes place.

1. Falls Count Anywhere Match: Minoru Suzuki defeated Sanshiro Takagi with the Gotch-Style Piledriver (55:07).

The never ending war between Sanshiro Takagi and Minoru Suzuki must have the most unique list of locations in pro wrestling. They have fought each other in Budokan Hall, the Tokyo Dome, the Shinkansen bullet train and now the humble Sakura Tram on the Toden Arakawa Line. The latest chapter of this rivalry was put together by DDT and the Tokyo Metropolitan Bureau of Transportation. It would be Takagi’s last chance at finally beating Suzuki before he takes an indefinite break as a pro wrestler on 21st July to focus on managing DDT behind the scenes.

The starting point was at Arakawa-shakomae Station. There both wrestlers made their entrance outdoors for the 16 passengers who won successfully got tickets to see the match. Then Shinichiro Kawamatsu showed up accompanied by the current Tokyo governor Yuriko Koike. This was especially newsworthy because the Tokyo gubernatorial election is taking place soon and Koike has mostly avoided making public appearances during her campaign, citing a busy schedule as her reason. This is the same election that has gone viral on social media for the high amount of the bizarre candidates involved, some being there to take advantage of equal media coverage to say and do whatever they want. I guess the best comparison I could make to another part of the world is imagine what would happen if the BBC had to give the Monster Raving Loony Party the same amount of coverage as they do for the major political parties in the UK. So this match ended up becoming part of someone’s political campaign, which I feel kind of iffy about.

The two politicians boarded the tram along with everyone else to witness the start of the match. It began slow with Takagi and Suzuki both taking a feeling out process. Takagi put Suzuki in a Headlock and encouraged Koike to throw a Chop at Suzuki’s chest. Then when Suzuki put Takagi in a Neck Lock, Takagi reached out to hold Koike’s hand which the referee decided counts as a rope break. Koike then Chopped both wrestlers before exiting the tram at Kodai Station.

Now that the governor was gone, Takagi and Suzuki agreed they could go do whatever they want. The fighting became more aggressive and they also interacted more with the passengers. When the tram arrived at Miyanomae Station everyone was in for a surprise. Sayaka Unagi stepped on board carrying all of her championships including the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title!

Unagi took Takagi’s side and the two of them attacked Suzuki with a large rubber band. Suzuki continued to fight a 2-on-1 advantage until the tram arrived at Kumanomae Station. There he received reinforcements when Hikaru Sato stepped into the tram!

Soon Suzuki had the numbers advantage when Seigo Tachibana showed up at the Higashi-ogu-sanchome Station. But when he said he was here to mug people, Kawamatsu refused to stand by and do nothing. The politician joined Takagi’s side and now the match turned into a 3-on-3 fight on board! During the chaos Suzuki’s Towel won the Iron Man Title when Suzuki used it to choke Unagi into submission.

It became such a crazy situation that a policeman was waiting for them at Machiya-nichome Station. That policeman was Takayuki Ueki. However he lost his cool when someone pointed out he is a cop from Kanagawa which means he should have no power over here. Ueki threatened everyone on board with his pistol but suddenly cowered when Suzuki confronted him. Suzuki then grabbed the pistol and shot Ueki with it! With the situation now under control, Ueki’s body was dropped off at Arakawa-nanachome Station.

The next person to show up was a comedian named Sugichan. He performed a comedy skit and then pinned Suzuki’s towel to win the Iron Man Title! Suzuki didn’t find it funny so he choked Sugichan with the towel until he tapped out. Again the ref Daisuke Kiso decided that the towel was the new champion and not Suzuki.

The match suddenly got hijacked by MAO and Takeshi Masada at Minowabashi Station. The two young wrestlers complained that Takagi and Suzuki’s Toden Pro Wrestling was too lukewarm and declared themselves the new generation of Toden Pro Wrestling! They then started to fight each other as a demonstration until Takagi and Suzuki removed them from the tram so they could continue their own match.

At this point the tram had reached the end of the line so it began its return journey on the track. The next stop was Arakawa-itchumae Station where musician Funky Kato came on board singing the Pro Wrestling NOAH theme “VOYAGE” to advertise his new album. Suzuki forced him to also sing “Kaze Ni Nare”. Then a bunch of the wrestlers from earlier came back on board at Arakawa-nichome Station. They stayed around until the tram reached Higashi-ogu-sanchome Station. They all exited again leaving Takagi, Suzuki and Kato with the latest unexpected guest…

It was Meiko Satomura! She’s apparently still signed to WWE, you know. She approached Kato and challenged him to a battle. But it wasn’t a fight she was looking for. She wanted to prove she is a better singer than he is! She sang “Ii Hi Tabidachi” while the other wrestlers were putting each other in Sleeper Holds behind her. Satomura soon joined in. Kato then all of a sudden pinned Suzuki’s towel to win the Iron Man Title and escaped the tram at Miyanomae Station with the belt! Satomura left at the same spot.

When the tram returned to Kodai Station the station attendant stepped on board to inspect everyone’s tickets. Except it was really Jushin Liger in disguise! He got into an argument with Suzuki and hit him with the Shotei before going back to his cushy little post-retirement job.

With the journey nearing its end, Takagi declared it was now time to win by throwing a Lariat at the speed of 13.1km/h thanks to the tram’s momentum. Suzuki ducked the Lariat and grabbed Takagi in the Sleeper Hold instead. He then spun him around and dropped him on his head with the Gotch-Style Piledriver. Takagi was out after that and pinned for the three count.

After the match Takagi had a big announcement to make. He cannot beat Suzuki no matter how many times he tries so he is going to retire! He requested a 10 bell salute only to give Suzuki a Stunner in the middle of it. He was just lying to get the last laugh! Suzuki chased Takagi away from the tram, promising not to let Takagi escape until they reach the ends of Hell!
