16. King Of DDT 2018 – Round 1: Kazuki Hirata defeated Naomi Yoshimura with a Power Bomb Switchback (8:59).

The biggest King Of DDT tournament ever kicked off with 16 1st Round matches in one evening. Kazuki Hirata scored an upset win in the main event by beating Naomi Yoshimura. He countered Yoshimura’s Shonenba into a DDT then turned the Throwaway Power Bomb into a Cradle for the three count. Hirata called Yoshimura scary but Hirata has fought wrestlers like Yukio Sakaguchi who are 100 times more scary. Hirata got to dance to “TOKYO GO!” in full to celebrate his victory.

Today’s show aired on AbemaTV in place of the usual “DDT LIVE! MAJI MANJI” episode that takes place on Tuesdays. That meant everybody was treated to the recurring Kazusada Higuchi table spot! Higuchi and Tomomitsu Matsunaga brawled around the room and had a chop battle on one of the Shinjuku FACE bar counters. A table was positioned below and Higuchi tried to Power Bomb Matsunaga through it. Instead Matsunaga Back Body Dropped Higuchi into the table. Matsunaga came close to victory with the Back Drop but Higuchi recovered and got the win with the Doctor Bomb. Higuchi thanked Matsunaga for handling his all of the power he gained from sumo today. He asked to shake Matsunaga’s hand but Matsunaga wanted them to drink beer instead.

Saki Akai came real close to beating her friend Masahiro Takanashi but a rollover ended her chances. Akai hit Takanashi with the Rookie Award making an upset win seemed certain. When Akai went on top of Takanashi for the pin and leaned over to hook the leg, Takanashi trapped Akai in a Crucifix and rolled her onto her shoulders for the flash three count. Akai is the first woman to ever compete in King Of DDT. She originally thought she was never included because she was the only active female wrestler on the roster but now there are more women appearing in DDT she realises that is a bad excuse on her part.

Sanshiro Takagi and MAO used their match to prepare for DDT’s return of Campsite Pro Wrestling later this year. The two are becoming rivals over the new generation of Street Wrestling clashing with the old. Takagi brought out boxes of stuff to use as weapons while MAO appeared equipped to the gills with his own homemade weapons. Takagi convinced Yukinori Matsui to allow the weapon usage because of the 5 Count Rule. MAO also encouraged a lot of outside fighting away from the ring because he promised Matsui they would return to the ring at the 19 count. Lawn tables were smashed, plastic boxes were destroyed and bicycles were crashed around the room as the match progressed. The end came when MAO countered Takagi’s Sit Down Himawari Bomb into a Rolling Cradle for the pin. After the match a surprised Takagi realised how big of a mess they caused and worried about how long the AbemaTV broadcast will be delayed so the ring could be cleaned up. Takagi thanked MAO for the match and asked for a handshake but it was a ruse so Takagi could give him the Stunner. He told MAO that the Campsite Pro Wrestling show on 2nd September will be the deciding battle between them! MAO said Takagi is older than his mother but he is excited to see the scary Sanshiro Takagi coming back.

HARASHIMA praised Mad Paulie for a tough match. He squeezed Paulie’s hand while telling him how much fun he had with the challenge. Now HARASHIMA is looking forward to facing Toru Owashi in the 2nd Round because it is a Disaster-BOX reunion. When Owashi beat Mizuki Watase the match before (with the Diving Body Press he hasn’t done in years), Owashi simply said “HARASHIMA, I’m waiting” on the microphone.

The show opened up with an unexpected result when Akito defeated KUDO. Akito ducked the Buzzsaw Kick and put KUDO in an Anklelock. Akito then positioned himself on top of KUDO and pinned him for three. Akito said KUDO can now spend his time concentrating on his restaurant.

The 2nd Round matches on 4th August are Akito Vs Keisuke Ishii, Mike Bailey Vs Shunma Katsumata, Yukio Sakaguchi Vs Soma Takao, Toru Owashi Vs HARASHIMA, MAO Vs Masahiro Takanashi, Tetsuya Endo Vs Kazusada Higuchi, Antonio Honda Vs Daisuke Sasaki and Tanomusaku Toba Vs Kazuki Hirata.

Konosuke Takeshita greeted the audience at the start of the show. He revealed he dislocated his right shoulder at the Fukuyama show last Saturday and will be taking time off to recover. He does not need to go under surgery so he hopes to return in two to three months time. As a result of this the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles held by ALL OUT have been vacated.

DDT “TOYOCHO GOLD’S GYM SUPER CENTER GRAND OPENING MEMORIAL MAT PRO WRESTLING ~MUSCLE IS A LIFETIME CLOTHING~”, 17/07/2018
Tokyo Toyocho Gold’s Gym Super Center 4th Floor

1. 4 Way Tag Match: Sanshiro Takagi & HARASHIMA defeated Danshoku Dieno & Kazusada Higuchi, Tetsuya Endo & Mad Paulie and Akito & Tomomitsu Matsunaga when HARASHIMA pinned Matsunaga with the Somato from a trampoline (38:30).

To celebrate the opening of a new Gold’s Gym branch in Toyocho, DDT came along to hold a pro wrestling match inside it. Mad Paulie got in the mood by having the Gold’s Gym logo painted on the back of his head. The match began inside the gymnasium where a mat was supplied for the wrestlers to grapple on. Obviously the wrestling didn’t stay there.

Sanshiro Takagi found a bunch of basketballs and encouraged everyone to turn the match into a game of dodgeball. The children in the crowd joined in by throwing the balls at Danshoku Dieno. Over at the trampoline Tetsuya Endo used it to do a 450 Splash onto Dieno as he laid on the crash pad.

Akito found a kicking pad and used it to guard himself from HARASHIMA’s kicks. Paulie, Kazusada Higuchi and Tomomitsu Matsunaga approached each other in the centre of the floor and had a sumo contest using the Gold’s Gym logo as the ring. Takagi was inspired by a hula hoop to move the match over to the fitness room.

The people already exercising in the room did not expect to see a wrestling match suddenly appear. Matsunaga and Dieno used a squat machine to put Endo in the Danshoku Nightmare. Higuchi and Mad Paulie went for a jog on the running machines.

The wrestlers were surprised to discover that Masaya Takahashi fro Big Japan was there working out. He got involved in the match by Double Chopping Endo while Akito held Endo back.

The match went up to the rooftop where the tennis and futsal courts can be found. Everybody decided to put the match on hold so they could play a game of football instead. After a long 5 minute game that was decided on a penalty shootout, Takagi decided he had enough and went back to fighting. Somehow he attacked his partner HARASHIMA by mistake, probably because they were on opposite teams for football.

Everybody moved back down to the gymnasium to finish off the match by the mat. However Higuchi and Endo fought their way up to the balcony. Higuchi tried to throw Endo over the edge to the crash mat below. Endo held on for dear life but eventually he fell onto the pad.

Higuchi came back down and lifted a wooden platform onto his shoulders to hit his opponents with. Dieno jumped onto a vault block and laid into the Hell Gate position. Both Takagi and Akito were knocked onto the springboard and they bounced into Dieno’s backside. The same happened to HARASHIMA but he hit the Somato on Dieno!

Takagi dragged Matsunaga back to the mat and he gave him the Stunner. HARASHIMA then ran around the gymnasium to build up speed. He charged towards a trampoline and jumped off it to hit a high Somato on Matsunaga for the three count.

Takagi celebrated the win by shooting a basketball into the hoop and bragging about being in his junior high school’s basketball club. He missed the throw. Takagi then went in search of the gym’s manager to find out if the wrestlers got in trouble for today’s match. The manager told him it was ok and he was happy that all of the different rooms got to be involved.

4. Sanshiro Takagi, Toru Owashi, Kazuki Hirata, Saki Akai & Gota Ihashi defeated Brahman Shu, Brahman Kei, Gorgeous Matsuno, Emi Sakura & Chupacabra (w/ Miyako Haru) when Akai pinned Chupacabra with a Diving Body Attack (7:46).
5. Yukio Sakaguchi & Manjimaru defeated Kota Umeda & Yuki Ueno when Sakaguchi submitted Ueno with the Modified Cobra Clutch (14:00).
6. KUDO, HARASHIMA & Ken Ohka defeated Takashi Sasaki, GENTARO & Tanomusaku Toba when KUDO pinned Toba with the Diving Double Knee Drop (11:59).
7. Isami Kodaka defeated Masahiro Takanashi with the Isamuashi Zan (27:11).

Even though this show was put together to celebrate Masahiro Takanashi’s 15th anniversary in wrestling, he only appeared for the main event match against Isami Kodaka. He never came out at the start of the show, instead nominating Sayaka Obihiro to give the opening speech. After the main event, he bowed in the centre of the ring to every side of the building then made his exit. KUDO and Yukio Sakaguchi closed out the show with a speech on his behalf. He didn’t stick around for any backstage interviews either. Kodaka said that the generation that he and Takanashi are a part of still need to step up against the younger wrestlers.

There was a nostalgic theme to the show with a lot of former DDT wrestlers showing up. Takashi Sasaki, GENTARO & Tanomusaku Toba were the mystery trio taking on KUDO, HARASHIMA & Ken Ohka. Everyone shook hands with each other after the match, but slapped Ken Ohka when he tried to shake them.

The UMA Corps targeted Saki Akai earlier in the week by sending one of their monsters to stalk her. Today she got to face off against the Chupacabra as part of a colourful 10-Man Tag Match also featuring the returns of T2Hide, Gota Ihashi, the Brahman BrothersGorgeous Matsuno and Emi Sakura. Ihashi wanted to protect Akai but the other team easily beat him up. Kazuki Hirata brought back the Hirata GO! glasses and danced to his music. The song annoyed the Brahman Brothers because it brought back bad memories from their Toryumon lives. Brahman Shu threw a briefcase at Akai but she ducked and it hit Chupacabra instead. Akai then pinned Chupacabra with a Diving Body Press. The Brahmans fled after the match but the UMA leader Miyako Haru warned Akai that the UMA are everywhere like a black shadow. Hirata interrupted her by giving Hirata GO! glasses to everyone and they all danced.

Both MAO and DJ Nira kept putting Daisuke Kiso in harm’s way. They kept blaming each other until Kiso took one bump too many and called off the match for his own safety.

The Tag Gauntlet had plenty on offer. Makoto Oishi & Cherry were ambushed by Antonio Honda & Riho at the start. Riho later saved Honda from getting pinned by hitting Oishi with the Somato, rolling Honda back on top for the three count. Konosuke Takeshita did not hesitate to fight Riho one on one. Honda & Riho hit each other with Bionic Elbows when Yasu Urano dodged them. Urano then threw Honda out of the ring to eliminated that team. Takeshita tried to use Rekka’s Nishinari Elbow against him but missed. Takeshita was able to pin him with a Lariat afterwards. The mystery team were revealed to be Danshoku Dieno & Yoshihiko with Yusuke Inokuma as Yoshihiko’s holder. Inokuma threw Yoshihiko at Takeshita to knock him off the apron and eliminate his team. Dieno & Yoshihiko were then eliminated by Akito & Shunma Katsumata when Inakuma got tangled up in Yoshihiko’s string and accidentally hung himself over the ropes while Katsumata gave Yoshihiko a Piledriver. Rather than count the pin, Yukinori Matsui immediately eliminated Dieno & Yoshihiko to save Inokuma. Hoshitango & Kazusada Higuchi entered in sumo gear and quickly beat ALL OUT. Tomomitsu Matsunaga & Keisuke Ishii were the final entry but they lost out to the sumo team.

1. Falls Count Anywhere 3 Way Tag Match: Sanshiro Takagi & Kazusada Higuchi defeated HARASHIMA & Keisuke Ishii and Danshoku Dieno & Makoto Oishi when Higuchi pinned Oishi with the Avalanche Argentine Backbreaker from the Stage through a Table (25:38).

For the 5th year in a row DDT travelled over to the HandMade In Japan Fes to make a mess with their Rojo Pro Wrestling match. Sanshiro Takagi wasted no time in collecting chairs while Kazusada Higuchi entered the starting area carrying a ladder. When HARASHIMA and Keisuke Ishii entered they couldn’t find any chairs so HARASHIMA sat down at a nearby drum set and played a tune. Danshoku Dieno & Makoto Oishi then arrived with the remaining chairs.

The match began on the stage but quickly moved to other areas of the venue, the first being the dining hall. Oishi cheekily asked customers if he could take a bite of their food. HARASHIMA attacked Dieno’s backside with traffic cones on his arms.

Down the hall they moved to a marketplace where Dieno took a break to go shopping. He bought a yellow cap. Meanwhile Takagi and Oishi fought their way over to a peanut butter and they forced each other to taste it. Oishi then tried to stab Takagi’s forehead with the tasting spoon. Higuchi lifted the ladder onto his shoulders and spun around, hitting everybody including his partner Takagi. Oishi stopped Higuchi with a chairshot.

Ishii sat Takagi down on a chair and lined him up for HARASHIMA to do a long distance Somato. However Dieno cut HARASHIMA off with the Lip Lock. The match found its way back to the stage where Dieno & Oishi formed a man-made “Hell Car” but their rolling action was stopped by Higuchi.

Ishii stepped back in and fought with Dieno until Takagi arrived on the Dramatic Dream Cycle! He ran over Dieno with it.

A table was set up below the stage where Higuchi and Oishi were fighting. Oishi tried to dive onto Higuchi but he was caught. Higuchi got back on the stage and put Oishi into a Canadian Backbreaker. He then jumped off the stage and hit the Backbreaker through the table! Oishi was out for the count and Higuchi got the pin.

After the match Takagi and Higuchi called the festival organiser up to the stage. Higuchi told him that the Hand Made Festival is held two times a year. He asked the organiser if he wants DDT to return for the winter festival later this year? The organiser said he would consider it if DDT promises to get more involved with the event.

6. Spring Special In The Summer! Falls Count Anywhere 4 Way Match: Masashi Takeda defeated Konosuke Takeshita, Kazusada Higuchi and MAO when Takeda pinned MAO with the Reverse U-Crash from a Van onto a Chair (24:41).

Things got out of control in the main event. Before the 4 Way Match even started MAO got into a confrontation with Sanshiro Takagi at ringside. They were kept apart until part way through the match when Takagi got sick of MAO’s behaviour and gave him a Stunner at ringside. MAO was carried away but soon after the Shin-Kiba 1st RING shutter gates opened and MAO appeared with a van parked behind him. He got into the van, drove it into the venue and bumped it into Takagi! Masashi Takeda made the match more violent with chairs. He then stuck wooden skewers into Kazusada Higuchi’s head! Higuchi returned the favour by finding more skewers and sticking them on Takeda’s head. With the gates opened, the match moved outside where MAO took out fireworks and gave Higuchi an Anal Explosion. Higuchi recovered and threw MAO into a steel container Razor’s Edge style. Even Konosuke Takeshita got into the hardcore style by using chairs on his opponents and giving Higuchi a Vertical Drop Brainbuster onto a trash can. His most extreme moment came when he placed Higuchi on a table and climbed up a nearby scaffold. Takeshita dove off the scaffold and crushed Higuchi through the table! That would have been the end but Takeda stopped the count by throwing a chair at Takeshita’s head. MAO and Takeda fought their way onto the roof of the van. Takeda gave MAO a German Suplex onto the roof then to cap it all off, he dropped MAO onto a pile of chairs below with the Reverse U-Crash for the 3 count. Takeda returned to the ring and said the match was a fun warm up for a title defence he will have in FREEDOMS tomorrow. He also joked that he doesn’t know if DDT will bring him back because he accidentally broke one of the van mirrors during the match. In a backstage interview Takeshita suggested doing a sumo match against Higuchi sometime.

There was a lot of Right To Challenge Gauntlet movement on today’s show. Tetsuya Endo lost his Gauntlet to Akito in a 6-Man Tag Match. DAMNATION ambushed ALL OUT & Saki Akai at the start but Akito grabbed the win when he trapped Endo in a Samson Clutch. Endo might have an excuse for the defeat. He is confused by this new relationship between Daisuke Sasaki and Asuka. Sasaki got annoyed by Endo’s questions and reminded him what their motto is. Endo answered “We never confrom, kiss ass or get married.” No! Sasaki called Endo stupid and said their motto is now “Big Love!” Sasaki announced he and Asuka will team up again on next week’s episode of “DDT LIVE! MAJI MANJI”, this time without Endo. Then on 22nd July in Korakuen Hall, Sasaki and Asuka will confirm their Big Love together by having a singles match against each other.

HARASHIMA and Antonio Honda got along as a team and were able to beat Irie-gun. However Honda rejected HARASHIMA’s handshake after the match. Instead Honda pulled a bra out from his tights and held it up like it was a title belt. HARASHIMA lifted up his DDT Extreme Title belt in response.

In an attempt to provide as much of an authentic Lucha Libre experience for Ultimo Dragon’s return to DDT, the Timo Timo Timo Dragons requested their match against Shuten-dōji to be Best 2 out of 3 Falls with a 61 minute time limit. Ultimo Dragon himself stopped the unmasking antics from happening. When Hiratimo Dragon’s mask slipped off at the start of the match, Ultimo handed it to him and told him to put it back on. Yuki Iino then pinned Hiratimo with a Lariat to win the blue Right To Challenge Gauntlet. The Timo Dragons all unmasked and framed Yukio Sakaguchi for cheating but Ultimo stopped them again and gave everyone Middle Kicks as punishment. Ultimo then gave Hiratimo the Asai DDT and Sakaguchi pinned Hiratimo to win the 2nd and deciding fall. The result means Sakaguchi now gets Hiratimo’s remaining Gauntlet. After the match Ultimo Dragon ordered the other Dragons to unmask. They did so and revealed they were really Sanshiro Takagi, Toru Owashi and Kazuki Hirata all this time. Fortunately for them, Ultimo saw the funny side and felt honored that these wrestlers tried to imitate him, except for Owashi. Ultimo forgives them and will allow them to continue their gimmick on one condition. They must pay him a rights fee. They already used the gimmick for around 30 matches so they also have to pay him for those 30 matches! The Timo Timo Timo Dragons agreed to end the gimmick and all go back to normal.

Nobody was happier to appear on today’s show than Isami Kodaka. He came here to impress Mari Yaguchi by winning the 3 Way Match and even protected her during the crazier moments of the main event. He couldn’t stop thanking Sanshiro Takagi after his match for the booking. Yukinori Matsui reminded Kodaka not to bring his private life into his public life. He then had to drag Kodaka away from ringside to get the show back on track.

The opening match was held under World Cup rules which meant the much talked about VAR system came into play. Makoto Oishi pinned Kota Umeda with a Low Blow that Matsui missed. Keisuke Ishii’s protests led to Matsui getting the order to check on VAR to see what happened. The decision was made that Oishi fouled Umeda so the match was restarted. Oishi’s complaints led to him getting a yellow card for disruptive behaviour. The foul also meant that Umeda was given a free Penalty Kick to Oishi. VAR was used again when Danshoku Dieno gave Ishii a Low Blow before pinning him with the Gaydo Clutch. Matsui ruled that Dieno fouled Ishii so he too was booked. Umeda got the clean win over Oishi by making him submit to a Camel Clutch. Dieno demanded VAR to be used to reverse the decision. Matsui checked and ruled that there was no foul play so the result stands. Dieno complained but took it too far so Matsui gave him the red card and sent him off!

Ken Ohka’s ass kicking by Tenshin Nasukawa has been rescheduled for 24th July.

7. Nagoya Specialty! Doerya Special Tag Match: HARASHIMA & Yukio Sakaguchi defeated Shigehiro Irie & Mizuki Watase when HARASHIMA pinned Watase with the Somato (14:06).

HARASHIMA told the crowd he was glad to be back in Nagoya for the first time in five months. He promised when DDT returns to Nagoya later in the year he will be carrying loads of championship belts for them! He is certain he will beat Shigehiro Irie for the KO-D Openweight Title.

DAMNATION were in a bit of peril when Kazusada Higuchi found a devastating way to block Tetsuya Endo from Moonsaulting off of Mad Paulie’s back. Higuchi grabbed Endo by the throat and Choke Slammed him on top of Paulie! However Endo recovered and caught MAO with the Tetsuya In The Sky to get the win. Endo thinks MAO doesn’t deserve to challenge for the KO-D Tag Team Titles since he pinned him today. MAO says today he lost to DAMNATION but that doesn’t mean he lost to Endo & Paulie. The champions won’t be able to beat MAO & Mike Bailey when the titles are on the line!

Shunma Katsumata purposefully sacrificed Akito to Danshoku Dieno’s whims so he could finish off Makoto Oishi. He didn’t anticipate Dieno sneaking up on him from behind after the match though. Dieno gave him the Lip Lock and chased him out of the ring. Akito had the last laugh.

A big Thrust Kick from Sammy Guevara caught Daiki Shimomura in midair to end the 3 Way Match with Konosuke Takeshita.

Since Nagoya is the birthplace of the Timo Timo Timo Dragons, they decided to surprise everyone by bringing out the latest member of the unit. Robitimo Dragon looks a lot like Ultraman Robin wearing an Ultimo Dragon mask. He helped out the team by interfering in the match. All of the Dragons including Robitimo were accidentally unmasked during a multi-man Suplex spot.

2. Yuka Sakazaki & Shoko Nakajima defeated Miyu Yamashita & Yuki Aino when Sakazaki pinned Aino with the Magical Girl Splash (8:47).
3. Danshoku Dieno & Kazusada Higuchi defeated Konosuke Takeshita & Akito when Higuchi pinned Akito with the Doctor Bomb (11:36).

This show was put together as production practice for an event planning course provided by the Nihon Kogakuin College. The show introduction went off to a bad start when Danshoku Dieno was more interested with getting his hands on Akito than ensuring the show would go on without a hitch. Then in the main event Dieno demanded that if his team wins he would get to take Endo, the head student in charge of the project away with him. Dieno’s team did win the main event and Takeshita apologised to the students for letting them down. Takeshita also taught the students a lesson that when they go out into the world as adults it will be common for them to have more failures than success. It is up to them to figure out would they give up if they face unreasonable things in their lives. Takeshita & Akito gathered the rest of the students together in a circle and together they promised to make a brighter future for Japan. Dieno was so touched by this moment that he freed Endo and allowed him to join the others.

Two games were held in the ring in between Matches #2 and #3. Makoto Oishi beat Antonio Honda in a singing contest. Miyu Yamashita & Yuki Aino beat Yuka Sakazaki & Shoko Nakajima in a balloon popping contest.

*SekiGuchi fails in V3. DAMNATION becomes the 64th KO-D Tag Team Champions!

The week has gone from bad to worse for Kazusada Higuchi. First on Sunday he failed to win the KO-D Openweight Title from Shigehiro Irie. Now today he loses the KO-D Tag Team Titles to DAMNATION! To add even more salt to the wounds, this week’s table spot was Mad Paulie splashing Higuchi through the table during the match. Daisuke Sekimoto couldn’t help after Tetsuya Endo wiped him out with the Overhead Kick followed by a dive. From there Paulie crushed Higuchi with the Reverse Splash to win the match and crown new champions. Endo celebrated with Paulie and asked how he felt about winning his first championship. Paulie just growled. Hisaya Imabayashi came out and asked the new champions when they will be ready for their first defence. Endo refused to defend the titles until MAO came down and challenged them. Imabayashi decided that MAO & Mike Bailey will get a title shot on 22nd July. Backstage Sekimoto admitted that Endo & Paulie make are an amazing combination of speed and strength. Paulie is just too darn popular with the women in the audience as well.

Irie-gun surprised everyone by revealing a brand new member of the growing unit. The “Neon Ninja” Facade accompanied Irie & Sammy Guevara to the ring for the 3 Way Tag Match. He later said that he was here in DDT to be the best in the world with the rest of Irie-gun. Guevara had HARASHIMA in trouble after he gave him a Spanish Fly but Antonio Honda & Aaron Anders cut him off. Honda & Anders then turned their attention to Kouki Iwasaki and pinned him with the Twisting Flapjack followed by the Diving Fist Drop. Honda is psyched up to face HARASHIMA in the Blindfold Bra Match on 10th July. He warned HARASHIMA to get ready and wash his nipples because Honda will expose them to become the DDT Extreme Champion!

Konosuke Takeshita wants everyone to know that the meaning of ALL OUT is to reach the limit when you train your muscles and then exceed it. When it comes to women’s wrestling, nobody represents that philosophy better than Meiko Satomura. Takeshita challenged Satomura to come back on the 24th July episode of “DDT LIVE! MAJI MANJI” and to bring along some more joshi from Sendai Girls so they can have a KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles match together! Satomura accepted the challenge but then told Takeshita that they won’t be teaming together anymore because they are now enemies! Satomura will bring over DASH Chisako & Cassandra Miyagi to be on her team. Takeshita hopes this will begin a series of title defences against teams of all kinds from other promotions so ALL OUT can raise the prestige of the KO-D 6-Man Tag Titles.

A large crash mat was placed next to the ring during Match #3 for everyone to do big moves on. The mat was later placed on the apron on its side. MAO jumped into it and the mat fell on top of most of the other wrestlers in the match. With them all pinned down outside, MAO gave Yuki Ueno a Michinoku Driver on top of them. He then pinned Ueno with the Curb Stomp back inside the ring.

Kota Umeda beat Makoto Oishi rather easily in the battle to determine who the real star of Maji Manji is. Oishi challenged Umeda to a tag match against him and Danshoku Dieno next week. Umeda had already left the ring while Oishi was talking.

A glum looking Washitimo Dragon had his debut match in DDT for the unit now known as the Timo Timo Timo Dragons. His partners both unmasked themselves and tried to frame Daisuke Sasaki for fouling them. Sasaki threw the masks away then intentionally unmasked Washitimo to get disqualified. After the match Takatimo Dragon and Hiratimo Dragon began to worry about the news that Ultimo Dragon is coming back to DDT on 3rd July. Maybe it won’t be so bad and they can convince him to join their group. Then they can all be called the Timo Timo Timo Timo Dragons!

Trouble is brewing over Tetsuya Endo and his refusal to cash in his Right To Challenge Anytime, Anywhere Gauntlet. Endo told everyone that he auctioned off the Gauntlet. This led to Imabayashi ordering Yuki Iino to go look for the Gauntlet by searching through Endo’s stuff. Iino brought Endo’s backpack to the ring and emptied its contents. He found a porn mag and then the Gauntlet. Endo demanded to be given the porn back. Imabayashi told him he can only get it back if he promises to bring the Gauntlet with him everywhere like he is supposed to.

Tenshin Nasukawa was on commentary for the show and was confronted by Ken Ohka at the start. Ohka told him he was relieved that his scheduled ass kicking was postponed because of Nasukawa’s injury. Ohka understands that he must take the punishment sometime and he invited Nasukawa back when he is at his most perfect condition to make it happen.

Next week’s episode of Maji Manji will have a Falls Count Anywhere 4 Way Match between Higuchi, Takeshita, MAO and Masashi Takeda. The following week will have the Blindfold Bra match between HARASHIMA and Honda for the DDT Extreme Title. This show also has Kota Umeda Vs Dick Togo scheduled. Finally the 24th July episode has Shigehiro Irie & Jason Kincaid against Daisuke Sasaki & Jun Kasai in a Hardcore Tag Match!

The 22nd July Korakuen show will now have Asuka from Pro Wrestling WAVE and the debut of Spanish giant Alex Ace.

0. Under Match: Mizuki Watase & Aaron Anders defeated Tomomitsu Matsunaga & Kouki Iwasaki when Anders pinned Iwasaki with the Twisting Flapjack (8:42).
1. Loser Expulsion 3 Way 6-Man Tag Match: Keisuke Ishii, Antonio Honda & MAO and Tetsuya Endo, Mad Paulie & Nobuhiro Shimatani defeated Takatimo Dragon, Hiratimo Dragon & Toru Owashi by Disqualification when Owashi was Disqualified for everything (6:51).
*Toru Owashi is banished from Japan.
2. Worldwide Match: Mike Bailey defeated Sammy Guevara with the Green Tea Plunge (11:40).
3. Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title – “KUDO” 15th Anniversary Memorial Match: KUDO, Yukio Sakaguchi & Masahiro Takanashi defeated Danshoku Dieno, Makoto Oishi (c) & Super Sasadango Machine when KUDO pinned Oishi with the Diving Double Knee Drop (9:43).
*KUDO becomes the 1,321st champion.
4. KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles: Konosuke Takeshita, Akito & Shunma Katsumata defeated Kota Umeda, Yuki Ueno & Koju Takeda (c) when Katsumata pinned Ueno with the ¡Hasta La Vista! (11:16).
*Umeda-gumi fails in V2. ALL OUT becomes the 34th KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Champions!
5. DDT Extreme Title – 3 Way Match: HARASHIMA (c) defeated Soma Takao and Daisuke Sasaki when HARASHIMA pinned Takao with the Somato (15:58).
*V2 for HARASHIMA.
6. KO-D Openweight Title: Shigehiro Irie (c) defeated Kazusada Higuchi with the Beast Bomber (20:58).
*V2 for Shigehiro Irie.

Two heavyweights smashed each other to bits in the main event and when the dust was settled, Shigehiro Irie stood over Kazusada Higuchi, still the KO-D Openweight Champion. Higuchi brought his table smashing antics over from “DDT LIVE! MAJI MANJI” by Power Slamming Irie onto one from the ring apron. Irie got violent too by doing a Slingshot Senton Bomb to Higuchi underneath a pile of chairs outside the ring. Most of Higuchi’s big moves like the Doctor Bomb and Leg Roll Clutch were kicked out of. Irie bounced back from Higuchi’s Lariats with his Cannonball attacks then when Higuchi was weakened enough, the Beast Bomber put him down for the count.

Irie gave Higuchi a brief thank you after the match and it didn’t take long for his next title defence to be put together. Hisaya Imabayashi announced Irie will defend the title in Korakuen Hall on 22d July. He then asked if any of the Right To Challenge Gauntlet holders would like to use their title shot on that date. HARASHIMA entered the ring and said he will do it! He would have liked to do it right now but he wants to fight Irie when he is in his perfect state. Imabayashi asked HARASHIMA if he also wants to put his DDT Extreme Title on the line. HARASHIMA declined because he wants to defend it against Antonio Honda next, maybe in a Blindfold & Bra Death Match like they did back in 2013. HARASHIMA told Irie he’s become a strong champion but he does not like what he is doing to DDT. HARASHIMA doesn’t want people with an attitude like Irie’s to be champion because it can be damaging to DDT. Irie said he is glad that HARASHIMA is his next challenger. He’s been waiting for this match most of all out of the Gauntlet holders. He dismissed HARASHIMA’a claim that his title reign and attitude is making DDT rotten.

Imabayashi reminded HARASHIMA that should he lose his Gauntlet before 22nd July, his spot in the title match will become vacant. He must have his Gauntlet on the day to guarantee his position. Irie yelled at Imabayashi for interrupting him and said he doesn’t care if HARASHIMA has a Gauntlet or not. He wants the match to happen regardless. Imabayashi called over to Producer Danshoku Dieno and they asked if Irie understands the rules of the Gauntlets. Irie blasted insults at Dieno for his role as DDT’s Producer. Dieno tried to calm him down but Irie continued to yell at him until Irie had enough and left the ring.

Remember how the 3 Way Match was supposed to have no cheating and no interference for the sake of good sportsmanship? Yeah, that didn’t happen. Daisuke Sasaki and Soma Takao didn’t wait long to get help from Tetsuya Endo & Mad Paulie. Together DAMNATION tore apart HARASHIMA until Shuten-dōji came to rescue him. With the interference gone the match turned into 2-on-1 with Sasaki and Takao helping each other. That blew up when Sasaki was trying to put HARASHIMA in the Cross Facelock. Takao went in for a Thrust Kick but struck Sasaki by accident! HARASHIMA got rid of Sasaki with the Somato then countered Takao’s Gin And Tonic into the Yama-ori head drop. Another Somato put away Takao and meant HARASHIMA is still the Extreme Champion! HARASHIMA thanked Shuten-dōji for helping him. They were still presumably fighting with DAMNATION backstage but if they could hear HARASHIMA, he invited them out to go drinking later.

All the hard work Shunma Katsumata has put into his training has finally paid off. ALL OUT are now the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Champions! He with the help of his partners whittled the champions down to just Yuki Ueno in the ring. While Kota Umeda & Koju Takeda did what they could to keep the match alive, Konosuke Takeshita & Akito held them back long enough for Katsumata to finish the job. Takeshita told Katsumata backstage that his efforts in training was finally rewarded. Akito also reminded Katsumata that ALL OUT is not just the three of them. There’s Diego as well and it feels like he was with them in spirit supporting their title win. Over at the losing side, Ueno is worried that his team won’t be able to bounce back from this because they aren’t a proper unit. All they can do is work hard but today they learned that individual power by itself is not enough.

KUDO never thought his wrestling career would last 15 years. He was able to do it with all of the support from his friends, his seniors and his juniors. His anniversary match ended with him pinning Makoto Oishi to win the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title and to cap it all off, he was even given flowers from HARASHIMA. KUDO is happy but now feels a little worried about having the Iron Man Title on him.

Sammy Guevara didn’t come to DDT to make friends, at least that’s judging by the middle finger he gave Mike Bailey at the start of their match. At first Bailey was one step ahead of of the newcomer. Some surprise pop-up Knee Strikes and dives put Guevara in control until the Green Tea Plunge came out of nowhere to give Bailey the victory. Backstage Bailey said he will be spending a month in England. When he comes back he wants himself and MAO to go after the KO-D Tag Team Titles. Guevara called Bailey a terrible high flyer and demanded a rematch. He also wants everyone to go look at his Youtube channel. Guevara was later seen standing with Mizuki Watase in Irie’s corner for the main event.

Let’s look at all of the reasons why Toru Owashi was disqualified in the opener. Unmasking two wrestlers and allegedly attacking everybody with three chairs, a broom, a basin, a bottle of oil and a ladder. He had so many items attached to him that he ended up looking like a game of Buckaroo! The last minute loser leaves town stipulation meant that Owashi is now banished from Japan. DDT immediately announced that Washitimo Dragon will make his debut on 26th June. Yuki Iino came down wearing an Ultimo Dragon mask to carry Owashi away from ringside with a few other wrestlers. Then there was another announcement. The real Ultimo Dragon is coming back to DDT on 3rd July!

Aaron Anders was able to give Kouki Iwasaki the Twisting Flapjack after Mizuki Watase tripped Iwasaki by the ropes.

Joey Ryan & Laura James have challenged Makoto Oishi & Misaki Ohata to a match at “RYOGOKU PETER PAN 2018” on 21st October. Ryan & James accuse Oishi & Ohata of stealing their idea of having a marriage proposal during a wrestling match. Oishi admitted he needed to do a couple of takes for the match announcement video because he kept saying his partner was Shiori Asahi instead of Ohata out of habit.

Taiyo Kea makes his DDT debut on the 25th August Korakuen Hall show.

The Up Up Girls (Fake) wanted to perform a dance routine at the start of the show but Imabayashi mercifully stopped them.

DDT’s return to the Handmade In Japan Fes on 7th July will feature one match. It will be Sanshiro Takagi & Kazusada Higuchi Vs HARASHIMA & Keisuke Ishii Vs Danshoku Dieno & Makoto Oishi in a 3 Way Tag Match.

Kazuki Hirata and Toru Owashi are the latest DDT wrestlers to get gender-swapped characters for the Ring☆Dream online game. Their characters will be added during the summer.

5. DDT Extreme Title – 3 Way Match: HARASHIMA (c) Vs Soma Takao Vs Daisuke Sasaki
6. KO-D Openweight Title: Shigehiro Irie (c) Vs Kazusada Higuchi

It’s been a month since he won it but Shigehiro Irie is ready for his first KO-D Openweight Title defence. Kazusada Higuchi has been a thorn in his side in the build up to this match. Power Vs Power is to be expected here but some words from Higuchi suggests that something more will be needed to determine who wins.

How much can you take DAMNATION at their word? They promise not to cheat or interfere in the DDT Extreme Title Match for the sake of sportsmanship but other than that there hasn’t really been anything else put in place to enforce the stipulation.

KUDO is celebrating 15 years of being a pro wrestler but everyone else involved in the match have their own accomplishments from 15 years ago to celebrate from company debuts to tournament wins.

DDT’s website has given a run down on Sammy Guevara in preparation for his debut. He’s being put in the ring against Mike Bailey because he might go through the same road Bailey has been on during his DDT career so far. Guevara’s nickname of “The Best Ever” has DDT wondering if he can prove it. Whatever happens, this could be the start of a new Japanese dream for a foreign wrestler. I think they have high hopes for this lad.
