3b. Mizuki Watase (C) eliminated Takuya Wada by Ring Out (12:01).
3c. Yumehito Imanari (C) eliminated Ken Ohka by Ring Out (16:28).
3d. Yumehito Imanari (C) eliminated Mizuki Watase (C) with the Lou Thesz Press (18:16).
4. Spirit Of Ganbare World Openweight Title: Isami Kodaka (c) defeated Shinichiro Tominaga with a Dekopin (24:23).
*V2 for Isami Kodaka.

A reunion between two former Union Pro wrestlers was the set up for the Spirit Of Ganbare Title match. Isami Kodaka was Shinichiro Tominaga’s senior in the old company and here he continued treating him as his junior. Tominaga tried fighting back and used his new VIO submission hold as well as the JK but nothing seemed to work. He missed a Moonsault, giving Kodaka back the control of the match. Kodaka left Tominaga for dead with multiple kicks and strikes. Then as a final insult he flicked Tominaga in the face before pinning him to win.

Kodaka said the match was fun afterwards and told Tominaga he should not call himself the “strongest amateur” wrestler. He is the “worst professional” wrestler instead. That was his way of praising Tominaga over how much he has grown since Union Pro. Tominaga said Kodaka and the fans are the only ones enjoying this scene right now and he can’t decide which nickname is better. Kodaka asked who next in Ganbare☆Pro will challenge him for the title? Yumehito Imanari made it into the ring first so Kodaka let him choose the time and place. Imanari was crying at this point because he was so touched by Tominaga’s performance. He wants to face Kodaka for the title on 1st October in Shinjuku FACE.

The point of the Secret Captain’s Fall match was that the captain of each team was supposed to be a secret until they were eliminated. Ken Ohka wanted a fair fight and had no problem admitting to everyone he was the captain of his team. His opponents did not follow his lead and stayed quiet, immediately deciding to attack Ohka instead. However Keisuke Ishii & Takuya Wada were the first two eliminations, leaving Imanari as the last one left in his team, therefore revealing him as the other team captain. He eliminated Shingo and then Ohka but found out Ohka was lying all along! Mizuki Watase was actually the captain of Ohka’s team! Still, Imanari was able to pin Watase with the Lou Thesz Press for the final elimination.

1. GanPro 2 Big Singles Match: Keisuke Ishii defeated Tyson Maeguchi with the Running Double Arm Driver (8:50).
2. HARUKAZE & YuuRI defeated Sumire Natsu & Riara when HARUKAZE pinned Riara with the Flame Spear (12:52).
3. GanPro 2 Big Singles Match: Kuma Arashi defeated Shota with the Argentine Backbreaker (14:26).
4. Ken Ohka, Soma Takao & Shinichiro Tominaga defeated Yumehito Imanari, Mizuki Watase & Munetatsu Nakamura when Tominaga submitted Nakamura with the VIO (20:06).

Shinichiro Tominaga unveiled a new submission hold called the VIO to win the main event of today’s first Ganbare☆Pro show. He is now confident he is in the best shape to beat Isami Kodaka for the Spirit Of Ganbare Title later this evening. He told the fans to look forward to it.

After Kuma Arashi defeated Shota, he asked him to join his side with Koji Doi as they continue to invade GanPro. Shota refused which caused Arashi to attack him again. Ken Ohka ran down to rescue Shota and then demand a rematch against Arashi. Arashi wanted to see proof that Ohka is determined to get revenge on him and suggested a Hair Vs Hair match between Ohka & Shota against DoiKuma! Ohka agreed and Arashi said he is looking forward to cutting off all of Ohka’s dirty blonde hair! The plan is to have the match happen on 1st October in Shinjuku FACE.

Danshoku Dieno is taking the next couple of shows off to get surgery for a nasal bone fracture he suffered at the Yamagata show two weeks ago. So he will have to miss the Ghost Story Death Match.

6. DDT Extreme Title & Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title: Kazuki Hirata (E/c) Vs Naruki Doi (I/c)
7. KO-D Openweight Title: Chris Brookes (c) Vs Shigehiro Irie

This past weekend Naruki Doi won his third DDT championship, becoming the new Iron Man Heavymwetalweight Champion. He feels like he has immersed himself into DDT and wants to ingrain himself even more by adding the DDT Extreme Title to his collection. Kazuki Hirata’s current title reign best represents DDT in Doi’s eyes so a big stakes double title match is now on the cards. However Doi is at risk of losing the Iron Man Title anywhere, even outside of DDT because he has a bunch of bookings in other companies coming up. He is getting his Extreme Title match with Hirata no matter what but if he was to lose the Iron Man Title before that it would sour their match a little bit.

The new KO-D Tag Champions Hino & Oishi aren’t done with DAMNATION T.A just yet. KANON is calling on Minoru Fujita to help mentor him towards winning the belts off of them.

2. Special Single Match: Nyla Rose Vs Maki Itoh
3. Princess Tag Team Titles: X & X Vs X & X
4. Princess Of Princess Title: Mizuki (c) Vs Miyu Yamashita

Yamashita defeated Mizuki in the 1st Round of this year’s Tokyo Princess Cup. She decided she would not challenge her for the Princess Of Princess Title unless she went on to win the tournament. Yamashita did so, finally ending the one accomplishment in TJPW that’s been her Achilles Heel for her entire career.

The next Princess Tag Team Champions will be crowned on this show. They have been vacant since June because of Yuka Sakazaki’s injury. That it’s taken them this long to decide new champions makes me think the plan all along was for The Magical Sugar Rabbits to keep the belts all the way through to Sakazaki’s graduation.

Nyla Rose returns for a first time singles match against Maki Itoh. They’ve had a few AEW tag matches both against and teaming with each other.

The main foursome of NEO Biishiki-gun will appear for an 8-Person Tag Match.

7. DDT Extreme Title – Weakness Explosion!! Activation Conditions Are Up To You! Fall & Escape = Ghost & Balloon Explosion Death Match: Kazuki Hirata (c) Vs Yukio Sakaguchi

Yesterday Kazuki Hirata and Yukio Sakaguchi met with Hisaya Imabayashi to sign the contract for their DDT Extreme Title match. Hirata admitted he could not think of a match stipulation in time but promised he would come up with something that Sakaguchi would be pleased with. Sakaguchi signed the contract and Hirata suddenly burst into laughter. He actually did come up with rules and Sakaguchi cannot back out now. The match Hirata wants is a Ghost & Balloon Death Match! The match can be won and lost as normal but whenever there is a kickout or rope break either a “Ghost” or a “Balloon” will enter the ring. It turns out that Sakaguchi does not like either ghosts or balloons so Hirata figured out he can use that information to unsettle his opponent. His point was proven when he took out a pair of rubber gloves, blew them up like balloons and then popped them, causing Sakaguchi to flee the room.

Several matches on the show are being sponsored by different beauty products and salon businesses.

DDT wanted to do a match promoting Saki Akai’s new photobook “GRACIA”. Akai is already booked on the show so DDT decided to put together a 3 Way Match between Hirata, Antonio Honda and… the photobook. This is now going to be the second Saki Akai photobook to wrestle in DDT. The first one is a former Iron Man Heavymetalweight Champion because of course it would be! It even beat The Young Bucks autobiography to win it.

Tokyo Oji BASEMENT MON☆STAR

1. Spirit Of Ganbare World Openweight Title: Isami Kodaka (c) Vs Shinichiro Tominaga

The second challenger for Kodaka quickly made himself known over the weekend. Shinichiro Tominaga had a brief stare down with Kodaka at the Ganbare☆Pro show on Sunday afternoon and then later that evening threw out the challenge after he beat Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi in BASARA. The two wrestlers go way back to the final years of Union Pro. Tominaga came into the promotion at the beginning of 2012 as the hot new rookie with a lot of promise behind him. His run in that promotion only lasted 6 months of ring time when he fractured his forearm. Then when 2012 rolled around he declined to renew his contract and went back to the lower independents. It is a decision that has stayed on his mind ever since. Was he right or wrong to leave back then? He eventually bounced back by finding GanPro and becoming a regular part of their shows. He now thinks he is able to catch up with Kodaka. If he beats him for the Spirit Of Ganbare Title then it will prove he made the right choice all those years ago.

Soma Takao will be on the show.

The full goodbye is happening in September due to Naoki Tanizaki & Akiyori Takizawa having their own schedules that conflict with BASARA’s dates. Sparky’s final match as a group is against the full force of Sento Minzoku in an Elimination Match.

Kohei Kinoshita will also be on the show, going along with Tanizaki as the second Dove Pro representative.

3. Elimination 6-Man Tag Match: Ken Ohka, Keisuke Ishii & Shuichiro Katsumura defeated Mizuki Watase, Soma Takao & Yumehito Imanari (17:43).
3a. Shuichiro Katsumura eliminated Soma Takao by Ring Out (7:16).
3b. Ken Ohka eliminated Mizuki Watase by Ring Out (10:11).
3c. Ken Ohka eliminated Yumehito Imanari by Ring Out (17:43).
4. Spirit Of Ganbare World Openweight Title Next Challenger: Isami Kodaka defeated Munetatsu Nakamura with the Diving Double Knee Drop (13:02).

The main event of “WRESTLE SEKIGAHARA II” on 9th July is now set. Isami Kodaka defeated Munetatsu Nakamura to become the No. 1 Contender on the last show of today’s tripleshot. He will now face Mizuki Watase for the Spirit Of Ganbare Title in the main event at Ota Ward Gymnasium! Kodaka bowed his head to Nakamura after the match and then called Watase into the ring. He told Watase he does not think high handedness suits Ganbare☆Pro so he is going to drag them to the bottom. Watase is eager for the competition and claims if he beats Kodaka on 9th July, he will then defend the SOG Title against every BASARA wrestler who is willing to challenge him. Kodaka responded that he will do the same with any GanPro wrestler should he win the championship. Watase promised to defend the title while carrying Nakamura’s feelings and also those of GanPro’s fans on his back.

After Ken Ohka’s team won the Elimination 6-Man Tag Match with a clean sweep, he was met with an appearance from somebody unexpected. Freelance wrestler Kuma Arashi entered the ring and introduced himself to the fans. He explained he was watching the match at the back and thought it is great how the GanPro wrestlers have a sense of unity with their fans. It reminded him of something similar in another place three or four years ago but this is even better than that. He asked Ohka if he could wrestle a match in GanPro? Ohka said he can feel Arashi’s passion for GanPro and he is welcome to become a member starting at “WRESTLE SEKIGAHARA II”! Arashi then asked if he can form a tag team with Ohka here in GanPro? Ohka loved the idea because nobody else has ever asked to team with him. Fans in the crowd tried to remind Ohka of his Daishoken team with Shuichiro Katsumura but he ignored them and accepted Arashi’s offer.

Due to “various reasons” both Choun-Shiryu and Moeka Haruhi were unable to be at this show so they were both replaced. Shiryu was replaced with Hong Kong International Policeman and Haruhi was replaced with Hong Kong International Women’s Policeman. The two cops promised to fight fair but it turned out to be anything but. Women’s Policeman was suspected to really be Haruhi when he skirt rolled up and revealed a swimsuit underneath, one that Haruhi was seen wearing on the previous GanPro show earlier in the day. International Policeman then revealed he had visited Haruhi’s home and confiscated some of her belongings, mainly a bunch of her stuffed toys. He demanded tha Haruhi eat a bag of crisps or he would execute the toys in the ring! She refused so he began shooting them one by one. When he pointed the gun at Mami-chan, the stuffed toy that’s been with Haruhi for 35 years, Haruhi jumped up and Dropkicked Policeman. She then put him in handcuffs and used them to apply the Straightjacket Hold, strangling Policeman unconcious until she was declared the winner by TKO.

Yoshiko Hasegawa was the replacement for YuuRI in the opening match when YuuRI was too ill to be at the show.

1. BEST OF THE SUPER arena Grand Final: Moeka Haruhi Vs Yumehito Imanari ended in a Time Limit Draw (10:00).
2. Yumehito Poison Rumble: HARUKAZE defeated Soma Takao and Yuki Kanzaki with a Double Pinfall (5:49).
Order Of Elimination: Tyson Maeguchi, Mizuki Watase, Yoshiko Hasegawa, Riara, Soma Takao & Yuki Kanzaki.
3. Shin Rogai-gun Vs Shin Jidai-gun: Shuichiro Katsumura & Shota defeated Ilusion & Munetatsu Nakamura when Shota pinned Nakamura with an Inside Cradle (11:26).
4. Yumehito Imanari’s GanPro 10th Anniversary Match: Ken Ohka & Keisuke Ishii defeated Yumehito Imanari & Shinichiro Tominaga when Ishii pinned Imanari with the Running Double Arm Driver (14:46).

There are two people who have been with Ganbare☆Pro from the very beginning, Ken Ohka and Yumehito Imanari. The latter was given the chance to celebrate his decade with the promotion today with his own produced show. He has run his own GanPro shows before but took a break for a long time. But when GanPro asked if he wanted to do another one, he felt like he should give it another try.

The main event was teaming with Shinichiro Tominaga to take on Ohka & Keisuke Ishii, all wrestlers who are the most close to him. Imanari did his best in the match but ultimately lost to Ishii. Afterwards Ishii told the fans he wants people to think it is okay to live like him and be dreamers. It’s hard work but he can dream about anything and feel fulfilled with what he does. In his 11th year with GanPro, he will continue to pursue his dream as a pro wrestler.

To show how much of a new age team Ilusion & Munetatsu Nakamura are, they entered to “New Genesis” by Ado and filmed some of their match on Instagram Live. Their opponents Shuichiro Katsumura & Shota entered to “Proof Of Courage” by Saburo Tokito and asked why the other team wasn’t using mixi or Livedoor? The two teams continued making different pop culture references from their generations as they fought each other.

The Battle Royal had every entrant using “POISON ~In This World Where I Can’t Say What I Want To Say~” by Takashi Sorimachi for their music. Everybody also imitated Imanari in some form. HARUKAZE was able to win by a fluke after she took Lariats in the corner from Soma Takao and Yuki Kanzaki. She staggered around afterwards and fell on top of both of them after they did a Rolling Cradle spot, scoring a double pinfall to win the match.

Imanari has always lived by the idea that if there is no one left to do anything, he will do it himself. So when YuuRI pulled out of today’s shows out of sickness, Imanari volunteered to take her place in the match against Moeka Haruhi. The whole appeal of the match was meant to be YuuRI and Haruhi wrestling each other in swimsuits that wouldn’t look out of place in All Japan Women’s matches of old. Imanari obliged to do the same in YuuRI’s place and fought Haruhi to a 10 minute draw in a swimsuit. Imanari thanked Haruhi for doing his selfish idea of a match and even though the match was a draw, Haruhi is unanimously the winner.

1. Moeka Haruhi & Riara defeated Shota & Yoshiko Hasegawa when Haruhi pinned Hasegawa with the Diving Foot Stomp (12:37).
2. GanPro Vs Australia: Keisuke Ishii & Soma Takao defeated Hartley Jackson & Mitch Ryder when Takao pinned Ryder with the Official Endless Waltz (10:59).
3. GanPro Vs Sento Minzoku: Minoru Fujita & Daiki Shimomura defeated Ken Ohka & Shota when Fujita pinned Shota with the Modified Samson Clutch (15:29).
4. Mizuki Watase, Shuichiro Katsumura & Yuki Kanzaki defeated Yumehito Imanari, Tyson Maeguchi & Shinichiro Tominaga when Watase pinned Tominaga with the Venetian (20:45).

Earlier this week it was announced that Mizuki Watase will be entering this year’s Fire Festival tournament in ZERO1. He promised the fans he will win the prize sword, bring it back to Ganbare☆Pro and run straight towards Ota Ward Gymnasium!

Ken Ohka was eager to restart his rivalry with Minoru Fujita but his calls for them to start a fight were ignored. Fujita then blindsided Ohka after Daiki Shimomura distracted him. It led to an out of the ring brawl that almost ended in a double countout but everyone made it back in time. Another brawl happened out of the ring causing almost another countout. This time Fujita got back in first and grabbed Shota by the leg as he was re-entering the ring. That gave Fujita a chance to roll up Shota in the Samson Clutch and get the pinfall victory.

Early during Match #2 Soma Takao tried to convince Hartley Jackson to come do an event at the Dropkick Bar if Takao’s team wins. Takao was able to pin Mitch Ryder with the Official Endless Waltz after a German Suplex from Keisuke Ishii. It led to Takao successfully negotiating with Jackson after the match for an appearance at his bar.

YuuRI had to pull out of today’s shows due to illness. Shota went on double duty and took her place in the opening tag match.

Yoshiko Hasegawa Vs Miyuki Takase was announced for “WRESTLE SEKIGAHARA II” on 9th July to celebrate Hasegawa’s one year anniversary of joining the promotion. Takase was the one wrestler who took care of Hasegawa the most when she had her neck injury. Hasegawa promised to repay her by winning their match as a member of GanPro.
