A doubleheader for Ganbare☆Pro is happening later this month. The first show is built around GanPro Vs Outsider matches. The three matches will see Shinichiro Tominaga, Soma Takao and Shuichiro Katsumura defend home turf against Jun Masaoka, Yuki Kanzaki and Yuki Ishida respectively.

Yumehito Imanari has a background role in the upcoming movie “ROMAN PORNO NOW”, the latest release from a long running softcore movie series entering its 50th anniversary. Imanari is citing this as proof that his career is not dead after losing the Spirit Of Ganbare Title to Hartley Jackson last week. Instead the movie role is how he will enter a new chapter of his life and he believes he will triumphantly return to Ganpro as a star.

During the beginning of the show, Yumehito Imanari nominated his next challenger for the Spirit Of Ganbare Title. He told everyone about something that somebody said to him on 6th October 2020. It was for the main event at Korakuen Hall when this person said Imanari was the only person who did not deserve to be in that spot. Imanari has never forgotten those words or who said it to him. He wants to defend the title in a Korakuen main event against Shigehiro Irie! The next Ganbare☆Pro show in Korakuen is scheduled for 13th August so now Imanari must wait to hear Irie’s response.

The spotlight at the end of the show was shining on someone else. Mizuki Watase came off his momentous win against Eruption at Ota Ward last week to be the deciding factor in today’s Survival Tag Match. Ken Ohka praised him afterward and Watase said he can feel the momentum surrounding Ganpro. He noticed however that Ohka isn’t speaking as much as he normally does and could tell he has a lot he wants to say. Ohka explained he is saving those words for when he wins the Spirit Of Ganbare Title from Imanari.

The Lariat Pro Wrestling Vs Knee Pro Wrestling match featured a montage of songs from famous wrestlers synonymous with Lariats and Knee Striking moves. The action became too much to handle for Shuichiro Katsumura, Shinichiro Tominaga, Keisuke Ishii and Shota because all four were left knocked out by the end of the match resulting in a draw.

Backstage Shota announced he is going on excursion to America this September with no timeframe on when he will return to Japan. While he already knows where he can go looking for bookings over there, nothing is set in stone and there is no guarantee he will be successful. But he is willing to put his life as a pro wrestler on the line for a few months. So for that reason he is taking a one way flight to the USA with the goal of wrestling there until he is exhausted. Until then he will spend August wrestling his remaining matches in Ganpro before going off to chase his dream in America.

Everyone got to learn about HARUKAZE’s history with Makoto when HARUKAZE got on the microphone after their match. She told a story about how she became a recluse after getting injured and leaving Stardom. Then suddenly one day Makoto, who she had never met previously, got in touch and invited her to take part in a show she was on. HARUKAZE said that was the beginning of her rehabiliation and the match she had on that show felt like she was making her debut all over again. Makoto is why HARUKAZE is still a pro wrestler so she asked Makoto to have a singles match together. Makoto admitted she didn’t expect to hear this story and called it a great honour for another wrestler to want a match with her. She accepted the challenge and the match will happen on 13th August. However Makoto warned that she is stronger than HARUKAZE thinks.

Not only has Antonio Honda proved he deserves to be in the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles match, it is now the main event too!

An extra rule is added to the DDT Extreme Title match after Danshoku Dieno warned that something bad could happen to the special referee Sanshiro Takagi and prevent him from doing his job. Akito and Hisaya Imabayashi are taking the threat seriously and came up with a backup plan. If Takagi cannot do his refereeing duties during the match for any reason then anyone who puts on the referee shirt will get to act as one! Imabayashi also announced the show will not air live on Wrestle Universe because of this match. If the match gets too out of control it will be cut from the VOD! Another thing to note about this match is where the inspiration for the match came from. According to the DDT website, the 3 Vs 1 Handicap stipulation is a call back to Antonio Inoki Vs Rusher Kimura, Animal Hamaguchi & Isamu Teranishi series from 1982 and 1983.

Yukio Naya is out of action with a fever and is off this weekend’s shows. Soma Takao replaces him on tomorrow’s card.

This continues until a team is reduced to one wrestler left and cannot field a complete tag team. An extra rule is being added to the upcoming version of this match. Over the top rope eliminations will count but the match cannot be won that way. The final elimination needs to be done through normal means (pinfall, submission, DQ, etc).

Lariat Pro Wrestling returns but there is resistance coming from Knee Pro Wrestling. It’s time to decide which is better, Lariats or Knee Strikes!

Asian Kung Fu Revolution came up with a movie theme for their produce show called “GAME OF BASARA”. For the evening Daichi Kazato turned into Kazat=Lee and teamed with the rest of the unit to battle space monsters and past versions of themselves played by the BASARA roster. There was even a revival of the Ultimate Superstars Action brand with a new American wrestler named Block Lesnar (Masato Kamino) coming in for a match. SAGAT in particular was busy today. He played the roles of Previous Life Hiroshi, Dildo Love and Uchu Kyoryu Zetton throughout the show.

FUMA & Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi challenged Speed Of Sounds to an IRON FIST Tag Titles match on 21st June.

A new KO-D Openweight Title belt will be unveiled and presented to the new champion Tetsuya Endo at the show. He has not seen the new design yet and is looking forward to finding out for himself when it is given to him at the show.

Two days after the Sumo Hall show and MAO has figured out how Michael Nakazawa tricked him into giving him a DDT Universal Title shot. When Nakazawa flashed him the AEW logo on his shirt, MAO was fooled into thinking he would be fighting one of the big stars. Today at a press conference MAO showed regret at making the match and asked to make it non-title. Nakazawa explained he is part of The Elite and beating him will open up a path for MAO to wrestle against the other more stronger members. MAO lit up at the idea of fighting The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega so he signed the contract for the match. Nakazawa then gave MAO a Low Blow and admitted it is all a trick so he can get the title shot. He revealed he needs to win the championship so he can bring it back to America and keep his AEW career alive because he is currently in limbo while Omega is out injured.

The DDT Extreme Title match is now an O-Back Ladder Match. The O-Back is the kind of jock strap Yuki Iino always wears underneath his gear for his matches. He originally wanted the rule to be both he and Shunma Katsumata had to wear an O-Back while they wrestled. Katsumata refused and came up with the idea to make it a Ladder Match where whoever grabs the O-Back hanging above the ring and puts it on first will be the winner. However extra negotiations with Iino and Danshoku Dieno added another way to win. The match can also end if either wrestler decides to give up.

Masahiro Takanashi joked that he would rather defend the Asia Dream Tag Team Titles against them inside Ichigaya Chocolate Square instead because there would be no room for the both of them. I don’t know if Chris Brookes can squeeze either of them through the window though.

When he won the main event on Sunday, Endo said he never saw Jun Akiyama smiling so happily. BURNING has only just started so Endo wants the KO-D Title to help make the unit bigger and better.

The winner of the Battle Royal would become the No. 1 Contender for the Union MAX Title. However the champion Ryota Nakatsu ended up winning the match. His prize was to nominate his next challenger and he chose Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi. The title match will take place on 25th January.
