This is the first challenge for Prominence since their inception. Risa Sera is close with Miyako Matsumoto and Miyamoto was even considered to be recruited for Prominence during its inception. However Matsumoto turned down the invitation out of loyalty to Gake no Fuchi, CyberFight and Sanshiro Takagi. It must be noted that Matsumoto is NOT a CyberFight employee.

When Suzu Suzuki originally debuted, people kept saying she reminded them of Matsumoto. She felt insulted by that and after holding in her feelings for so long, she will take her anger about it out on Chris Brookes. She isn’t sure how to deal with the height difference but thinks if she can beat a big man with big moves then she cane become a big woman in the ring.

Mochi Miyagi thought she would be taking on the Mao from SenoSister and was looking forward to it. Then she found out it is actually the wrestler MAO and she now wants a explanation. On the bright side she is looking forward to fighting Takagi and making him scream squeal. She isn’t the only person targeting Takagi.

Akane Fujita has accused Shunma Katsumata of stealing all of her ideas for death match weapons. She has proof of using block toys and acupuncture mats as weapons in her own matches before Katsumata used them in DDT. She isn’t facing Katsumata on this show so she will target Takagi instead because he is the DDT president.

Last but not least, Hiragi Kurumi admits she doesn’t know what she is going to do at the show. She isn’t able to wrestle at the moment so she is only advertised to accompany the rest of Prominence for the main event. She knows Munenori Sawa is doing the same so she guesses she will have to deal with him one way or another.

Not long to go now until Konosuke Takeshita and Yuji Okabayashi settle the score. The recent DDT Vs Big Japan trios match reminded Takeshita of the upcoming New Japan Vs NOAH show on 8th January. It makes him think it is time for DDT and Big Japan to show their will with their own competition. Okabayashi expects to have a long battle for the KO-D Openweight Title so he promises not to cut any corners. If Okabayashi becomes champion he is looking forward to defending the title against a lot of DDT wrestlers and beating them all down. Kenta Kobashi will be in attendance to observe and provide commentary for the main event.

Yuji Hino is already envisioning what he and Bodyguard will look like carrying the KO-D Tag Team Titles. That’s not to say he doesn’t think HARASHIMA & Naomi Yoshimura are bad champions, just that the belts will look better on him and his tag partner. HARASHIMA thinks he and Naomi Yoshimura are still the better team and it is up to them to prove it by defending the titles. Yoshimura hates to lose which means the last few weeks have been unpleasant for him. The one thing keeping him focused is the progress he made fighting against Hino. He is no longer afraid of him. When Hino heard that he responded that he’s been a little too gentle up until now and he will make Yoshimura regret those words.

The attacks Daisuke Sasaki and Masahiro Takanashi have been giving to each other have not slowed down. It’s continuing to happen inside and outside the ring. Sasaki even attacked Takanashi at a ChocoPro show earlier this month. Poor Baliyan Akki keeps getting caught in the crossfire too. Takanashi made Akki attend a contract signing in disguise to lure out Sasaki, expecting the DDT Universal Champion to launch an ambush. The plan worked and Takanashi attacked Sasaki with his own ambush. In the aftermath of that recent fight, Sasaki said he is going to take over Ichigaya Chocolate Square and force ChocoPro to pay him the rent from now on!

Recently Super Sasadango Machine asked for his match against Pheromones to be for the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles but a decision was never made. Then earlier this week he accused the GM Hisaya Imabayashi of demanding 20-30 million yen to be paid into a slush fund in return for getting the title shot. Sasadango claims to have a 30 minute audio recording of the blackmail attempt and offered to destroy the evidence in return for the title shot. Imabayashi doesn’t think this is good behavior for a person who became the face of Nagoya wrestling but on the other hand he admires his spirit. Therefore the KO-D 6-Man Tag Titles will be on the line.

We already saw what Shuichiro Katsumura and Yumehito Imanari have been doing to prepare for the Ganbare☆Climax finals. This week the outsiders Tetsuhiro Kuroda and Tatsuhito Takaiwa were interviewed about their thoughts over the tournament. Kuroda was so impressed by Ken Ohka taking so many Lariats in their match that he wants him to be his first challenger if he becomes the first Spirit Of Ganbare Champion. He understands that Imanari is growing stronger but Kuroda has been wrestling for 29 years now. He wants to win because he can.

Takaiwa has mixed opinions on his tournament matches so far. Taison Maeguchi is a complete novice in pro wrestling so Takaiwa only cared about bringing out his feelings in the ring. The match against Mizuki Watase however felt more like pro wrestling. Both matches warmed Takaiwa’s heart in some way. He will be cautious against Katsumura but believes he has the heart to win the tournament. If he wins the Spirit Of Ganbare Title then he will have a Triple Crown of indie titles made up of that, the UWA World Jr. Title and the WEW Jr. Title. Takaiwa was also the first ever IWGP Jr. Tag Team Champion with Shinjiro Otani. Since Otani has a relationship with Ganbare☆Pro that means Takaiwa has no choice but to become the first Spirit Of Ganbare Champion!

The final is all about The 37KAMIINA. High school classmates Yuki Ueno and Konosuke Takeshita both won their blocks and have a big clash set for Korakuen Hall. Takeshita is unbeaten in this tournament while holding the KO-D Openweight Title. Ueno has climbed tooth and nail past a very difficult cast of opponents to meet his friend up at the top.

Daisuke Sasaki revealed that around ten years ago, Soma Takao made him eat dog food. He didn’t give much detail as to why it happened but the humiliation never left him. All this time they were together in DAMNATION and Sasaki let his anger over it linger. Apparently this was all part of a very long term plan. Sasaki brought Takao into DAMNATION just so he could eventually attack him from behind and make him eat dog food!

All of the D-Ou Grand Prix participants who failed to make the final are in a big 10-Man Tag Match. It’s the A Block Vs the B Block!

Two weeks before their Current Blast Death Match, Pheromones get Sanshiro Takagi all to themselves in a Handicap Match. Takagi has to have a trick up his sleeve otherwise why would he end up in a situation like this?

The friendship between Yuna Manase & HARUKAZE is falling apart at the seams. Their teamwork self destructed in the main event when Manase accidentally hit her teammate twice. The first time happened when Yuu Yamagata dodged an Elbow Strike and HARUKAZE got hit behind her. The second time Yamagata purposely pushed Manase into HARUKAZE. Later when Manase called for her partner’s help, HARUKAZE instead hit her with the Fire Spear! Makoto flattened Manase with the W.W.Knee and Yamagata followed up with the Somato to win the match while HARUKAZE stood by.

After the match Yamagata welcomed HARUKAZE to her side and they left with Makoto. Manase was left alone to cry in the ring until Moeka Haruhi came down to comfort her. With Haruhi’s encouragement Manase promised to get revenge on Yamagata and Makoto to bring back her friend HARUKAZE! Backstage, HARUKAZE explained she made her decision to join Yamagata so she can become stronger under her teachings. Yamagata assured her she did not lose today.

The “Excruciating Technique” Haruhi used to submit Miyako Matsumoto is a Cross-Arm Backslide submission hold. Haruhi has not given the hold an official name yet.

A press conference was held today covering some of the important “WRESTLE PETER PAN 2021” matches. Konosuke Takeshita admitted that losing twice to Jun Akiyama is what helped make him come into this match as a much better wrestler. He wants to win the KO-D Openweight Title and say with pride that “DDT has Takeshita.” Akiyama said that although his opponent is bigger and stronger, he’s going to show him what happens when the feelings in your heart and mind prevail. Akiyama won the previous two matches by submission but will take winning the third match by pinfall if he has to.

Daisuke Sasaki was able to appear on Zoom (goofy background and all) because he is finishing up his quarantine period. His physical absence from the press conference annoyed Yuki Ueno even more because Sasaki still has the stolen DDT Universal Title.

Sanshiro Takagi explained that when students from the DDT Teenage Project turn 20 years old they will become full time members of DDT. Their school education is given priority so will not be wrestling on every show. El Unicorn said he’s been recently inspired by Momiji Nishiya, the 13 year old skateboarder who won gold at the Olympics. Ilusion said he wants to become a big name worldwide. Both of them are just as focused on fighting the big names in their match as they are fighting each other.

Yesterday Atsushi Onita gathered his team together at a parking lot in Chiba to demonstrate the explosions that will be happen for their match. A watermelon was meant to be used as the target. Kuro-chan and his group interrupted the scene and attacked Onita’s team. Super Sasadango Machine smashed the watermelon over Sanshiro Takagi’s head while Akito & Maki Itoh were both taken care of. Kuro-chan & Hikari Noa then grabbed an explosive barbed wire bat and blasted Onita with it. Kuro-chan added insult to injury by pinning Onita while Sasadango counted to three. Kuro-chan promised to retire Onita and take over the rights to explosion death matches!

There’s more to Ganbare☆Joshi than just the Manase & HARUKAZE drama. Cherry allegedly won a match against Shota in impressive fashion on the last show but no evidence of it happening exists. Whatever happened between them resulted in them now teaming together. Miss Mongol usually has Shota’s number when they fight each other and Yumehito Imanari isn’t going to be distracted by any Pocchari Joshi shenanigans.

Union MAX Next Challenger Decision League

August 8, 2021

The next few months in BASARA will be spent searching for the person who will challenge for the Union MAX Title at Korakeun Hall on 24th October. A fan vote was held with the majority of the roster taking part (champions and their upcoming challengers were excluded) and the top five qualified for a round robin league. The five contestants are:

1. Ryota Nakatsu (24 Votes)
2. Isami Kodaka (21 Votes)
3. FUMA (17 Votes)
4. Takato Nakano (10 Votes)
5. Masato Kamino (8 Votes)

There is only one group and at the end of the league stage the top two wrestlers will face off in the final. 2 points for a win, 1 point for a draw and 0 points for losing. Every match has a 30 minute time limit.
