Masato Kamino is the last man standing afer winning three matches in the 1-Day Tournament. All of his opponents were former Union MAX Champions too. He beat Isami Kodaka clean in Round 1, survived FUMA’s Crossface Lock to roll him up for a pinfall in Round 2 and outlasted Ryota Nakatsu with a Lariat to the back of the head in the final. The tournament was Kamino’s idea in the first place and he received praise from Takato Nakano (who also beat a former champion in Takumi Tsukamoto before getting eliminated by Nakatsu) for winning it.

Kamino told the fans he wants to get his MAX Title shot at the last BASARA show of the year. Suddenly Minoru Fujita entered the room to everyone’s surprise because he was already wrestling in Shinjuku FACE today. He got in the ring in a hurry and told Kamino they will have the title match at 29th December, which is what Kamino wanted anyway. Fujita wants to end the year with a successful title defence so he can say 2024 was his year from start to finish. Kamino shared a toast with him to confirm the match rather than go through a contract signing ceremony.

Itsuki Aoki now has the distinction of being the first woman to wrestle in BASARA. Her Shawn Capture leader Ikuto Hidaka won their match by using, what else, the Shawn Capture for the submission victory.

Coming up in December is Takumi Saito’s first time wrestling in DDT. The Aichi wrestler went to the same junior high school as Kazuchika Okada and discovered pro wrestling because of Okada’s success. His father also used to be a bodybuilder so Saito thought becoming a pro wrestler would let him do weight training for a living. Saito has recently been wrestling on the Tochigi Pro side of ZERO1 as well as the NOAH Limit Break shows.

The growing grudge between Yuki Ueno and Kazuki Hirata over the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title will come to a head with a singles match now booked for next month. Ueno keeps winning the Iron Man Title from Hirata and Hirata keeps attacking Ueno with a hammer to win it back. Right now the belt is not on either of them but the grudge still needs to be settled so they can both have clear heads going into Sumo Hall. Well, I’m not sure how clear a head can get when you smash one with a hammer but I’ll let them worry about that.

“The Black Sheep” Carnatux from Bahrain contacted Daisuke Kiso this week telling them he is moving to Japan in December. One of the reasons he is travelling over is to become the first wrestler from the Persian Gulf region to wrestle in DDT! He has spent his career wrestling across the Middle East.

To-y and Koroku’s second match against each other is happening in Osaka.

The Asian Double Crown match that was meant to happen between Yuki Kamifuku and Xia Zhao in October will now take place at Tokyo Joshi Pro’s last show of the year. Zhao is now wrestling under the name Lei Ying Lee and she just recently signed a new deal with TNA. Kamifuku is now upset she will spend the end of her year worrying about a big title match where she’ll have to fight the opponent by herself.

TJPW is ending the year with their own Royal Rumble with 20 participants taking part. There will be a new entrant every 90 seconds and elimination will be by pinfall, submission or throwing someone over the top rope to the floor below. There will be guest wrestlers involved as well as the usual TJPW roster with names to be announced soon.

Yuki Arai will be on the show. She made a big announcement today that she will be graduating from SKE48 on 31st March next year. Nothing was said in regards to her wrestling career so we have to wait and see where her future lies. Will she be graduating from TJPW too next year or does this mean she’s going give her full commitment to wrestling in 2025?

Haru Kazashiro beat Toga in the final to earn a title shot of her choice. She picked the Tag Titles because Maki Itoh is who she looks up to most and she’s aiming to take the title from her. She then asked Toga to be her partner for the match. Funnily enough, Toga was going to make the same choice for a similar reason because she wants to fight Miyu Yamashita for a championship. So it all conveniently works out for everyone!

Pom Harajuku is not on the show because she will be wrestling in Thailand that weekend.

He beat Shuichiro Katsumura to do it. But while Katsumura is out of the title picture for now he is still getting an important match at the end of the year. Ishii encouraged him to go challenge Dick Togo to a match! Katsumura’s link to Togo is a very minor one but it is a story he told Ishii over drinks one night. Back when Katsumura was in high school he visited the Universal Lucha Libre dojo wanting to join it. He didn’t have the courage to go through with the plan but he remembers seeing a trainee walk past him into the building. That trainee was Togo! So this match 30 years in the making must be fate for Katsumura.

Over the weekend at a GLEAT show, MICHIKO pinned Yuna Manase in a 6-Man Tag Match and challenged her afterwards for the Kitsune World Title. Manase accepted the challenge and convinced Kitsune to let the title match take place in GanPro.

Both Haruna Neko and Pom Harajuku debuted in November 2018 so they are celebrating their anniversaries together in the same match. 1. FUMA defeated Takeru Inoue with a Stretch Muffler Hold (10:57).
2. 4 Way Match: Daiki Shimomura defeated Daichi Kazato, Yasu Urano and Judomaster when Shimomura pinned Kazato with a Forward Rolling Cradle (8:48).
3. Isami Kodaka defeated KUBITO with the Vertical Drop Brainbuster (11:18).
4. Masahiro Takanashi defeated Ryuichi Sekine with La Magistral Cradle (11:17).
5. Takato Nakano, Masato Kamino & Lil’ Kraken defeated Takumi Tsukamoto, Ryota Nakatsu & SAGAT when Kamino pinned SAGAT with the Lariat (17:24).

After the main event Masato Kamino declared himself the next challenger for the Union MAX Title. However several other wrestlers came out and argued one by one that they should get the title shot instead. Rather than have a Battle Royal to determine the No.1 Contender, Kamino came up with the idea of doing a one day tournament on 29th November. Kamino, Ryota Nakatsu, Takato Nakano, Takumi Tsukamoto, Isami Kodaka and FUMA are the six wrestlers taking part. Lil’ Kraken also wanted to get involved but everyone else rejected him.

1. Lil’ Kraken defeated Takeru Inoue with the Period. (7:23).
2. Basara Jacket 4 Way Match: Daisuke Sekimoto defeated KUBITO, Gouma Ryu and Banana Senga by TKO when Ryu injured his back giving Sekimoto the Argentine Backbreaker (R3 1:47).
3. SAGAT & Antonio Honda defeated Yasu Urano & Masahiro Takanashi when SAGAT pinned Urano with the Superman Press (14:25).
4. Tsutomu Oosugi defeated Daiki Shimomura with the Tsuki no Ishi (10:19).
5. Isami Kodaka & Minoru Fujita defeated Daichi Kazato & Ayato Yoshida when Kodaka pinned Yoshida with the Modified Samson Clutch (23:12).

On 24th November Isami Kodaka will be challenging Ayato Yoshida for the 2AW Openweight Title at Korakuen Hall. Due to scheduling 2AW were not able to book any prelim matches between the two so BASARA organised one for today. Kodaka’s team went into the match with a small disadvantage because Minoru Fujita wrestled with a dislocated and fractured thumb joint. Yoshida was made to team with Daichi Kazato against his wishes because he had enough of him from his previous BASARA appearance in August. He was right to be concerned because Kazato decided to hurt his own hand before fighting Fujita to make sure it was now an even fight between them. Also Kazato ended up costing Yoshida the match when he missed a Rocket Punch and hit his partner by mistake. Kodaka then put Yoshida in the Modified Samson Clutch for the three count.

Kodaka told Yoshida after the match he will give it his all on 24th November and won’t beat him in a weird way like today. He’s been a champion in many promotions but never for 2AW so he’s looking forward to adding one of their championships to his collection. Fujita also promoted his own match on the show and offered to be in Kodaka’s corner. The two of them allowed Yoshida to close out the show but he got annoyed because he doesn’t understand why they would let him do that. He also got angry at the fans booing his closing speech. Backstage Yoshida said BASARA and its fans are all messed up and full of annoying people.

Gouma Ryu’s bad back became a problem for him again. He wanted to put Daisuke Sekimoto in the Argentine Backbreaker but didn’t have the strength to lift him. KUBITO and Banana Senga helped Ryu commit to the move but when Ryu lifted Sekimoto onto his shoulders his back went out and he had to give up the match. Sekimoto wanted to read out a legal indictment out of the match but Senga interrupted him. Senga then revealed the Turnabout Pro Wrestling Trial will return next time.

The Period. (the full stop is intentional) used by Lil’ Kraken is a Standing Shining Wizard.

The DNA reunion is shaping up. Shunma Katsumata Vs Yuki Ueno is put together because those two wrestlers were a vital part of what was considered DNA’s second chapter.

The reunion also sees the return of Gran MilliMeters teaming up against their own rivals Speed Of Sounds. Gran Millimeters were Daiki Shimomura & Nobuhiro Shimatani but these days Nobuhiro is going by the name Check Shimatani.

The post-DNA generation are part of the show to test themselves against DDT’s previous developmental project. Kota Umeda, Ryota Nakatsu & Kouki Iwasaki are representing DNA while Keigo Nakamura, To-y & Yuya Koroku represent D GENERATIONS.

Suguru Miyatake will be in attendance. His three year wrestling career was plagued with injuries and he eventually retired years after it was clear he wouldn’t be able to return to the ring.
