Meanwhile Back In Japan, TJPW Golden Week Title Matches, Namba’s Dream Coming True

I’m going to be travelling to Las Vegas tomorrow and it’s going to be a long trip ahead. You will know I have arrived safe and sound when the guides for the DDT and Tokyo Joshi Pro shows get posted. That should be on Tuesday night Vegas time but if more things get announced or even changed it will have to wait until Wednesday morning. I’ll try to at least stay up to date with the show results for the rest of the week but show reports may take a while because I’m still meant to be on holiday. Enjoy the week and let it all seep in!

They believe Watase is not being honest about his recovery and is not wrestling at 100%. The sooner this match happens, the better their chances are to win the tag titles.

There is only one person HARUKAZE believes she can beat in a fair fight and she is desperate to finally win one match before her wrestling career is put on hiatus. So she’s breaking the emergency glass and picked Ken Ohka to be her final opponent!

The Ganbare☆Joshi match will feature Nanami from Diana and Kirari Wakana from Ice Ribbon.

The show will also have LEONA from Dradition taking part in a match. He and Namba were classmates in the same university so they both know each other from before they entered the pro wrestling industry. One of Namba’s dreams was to announce LEONA for a match so it will come true after all.

2. 3 Way Match: Kaya Toribami defeated Moka Miyamoto and Kira Summer when Toribami pinned Summer with a Cradle (7:26).
3. Yuki Aino, Raku & Pom Harajuku defeated Mahiro Kiryu, Haruna Neko & Ivy Steele when Aino pinned Steele with the Venus DDT (9:31).
4. Rika Tatsumi defeated Yoshiko Hasegawa with the Missile Hip (9:27).
5. Suzume, Arisu Endo & Uta Takami defeated Haru Kazashiro, HIMAWARI & Shino Suzuki when Suzume pinned Suzuki with the Ring A Bell (10:46).

One last big preview for Las Vegas next week was on display in the main event. It was the Princess Of Princess Champion and the Princess Tag Team Champions joining forces against their challengers. Shoko Nakajima was back from America and had her newly won MLW Women’s World Featherweight Title with her. Hyper Misao wanted to start the match with handshakes but the challenger team knew what was coming and defended themselves. The champion team got the upper hand anyway and manipulated Miyu Yamashita into kicking Wakana Uehara away from her. Misao blinded Yamashita with a spray and rolled her up into one of the ringside mats. But Yamashita escaped, trapped Misao into the mat and Penalty Kicked her at ringside. Misao later took out Yuki Kamifuku with the Gotham Crush but Nakajima was thrown aside by a Snap Suplex from Uehara. The match came down to Mizuki ducking under Yamashita’s Skull Kick and rolling her up with the Aquamarine to get the big victory.

Yamashita left the ring in defeat while Kyoraku Kyomei and Ober Eats shared some last words with each other in the ring. Mizuki says she knows Yamashita is frustrated by today’s result because she herself was frustrated when Yamashita pinned her in Nagoya last month. She got one back today and promised she will never lose to the monster again! Backstage Misao said she will be leaving for Vegas with a fresh mind because of today’s win. Nakajima said she’ll be visiting America more often this year because of the MLW Women’s Title so she definitely wants to win in Vegas. Kamifuku has noticed how much stronger and even darker Kyoraku Kyomei have become but she has a theory that they are actually weaker when they are on American soil. America suits Ober Eats better because Kamifuku & Uehara both like American junk food. Yamashita was surprised by how Mizuki beat her today but that motivates her and now she’s more excited for the title match. She asked Kamifuku to go warn her that Yamashita is scary.

Everyone also cut their final promos for the Las Vegas show in English. Yamashita said she will never give up and will start “kicking showtime.” Kamifuku said Ober Eats will bring the fans happiness and Uehara promised they will get the belts. Nakajima said she’s going to Vegas because she likes money, Misao is sure Kyoraku Kyomei will win and Mizuki told Yamashita to go to hell!

Two title matches were announced for the Golden Week shows in May. First Yuki Kamifuku will be defending her VPW Women’s Title against the returning Viva Van on the 3rd May show in Yokohama. Then on 5th May in Osaka whoever the Princess Tag Champions are coming out of Vegas will put the belts on the line against the “SEA STORM” of Matcha & Alexis Lee! The two Southeast Asian wrestlers are tired of TJPW taking their championships from them that they want to give the company a taste of their own medicine!

Maki Itoh wasn’t on the show today because she was feeling in poor condition. I don’t blame her. Fighting Jun Kasai in a quasi-death match out in the cold on a Wednesday night isn’t something you’d immediately recover from. A few of the undercard matches were switched around because of her absence.

Last week 1 Called Manders made news in the European scene by winning the vacant wXw Unified World Wrestling Championship in Germany. In 2020 Kazuki Hirata planned to put together a show to celebrate the 10th anniversary of his debut match. Sadly he had to shelve the idea due to the pandemic and waited around for five years so he could have an appropriate occassion to finally run the show. What better time to do that than this week with the 15th anniversary approaching the horizon? Hirata went ahead an invited close friends of his from across the wrestling scene to put the event together. The main event was a wealth of Jr. Heavyweights from different companies gathering together to celebrate Hirata. There was Hiromu Takahashi from New Japan, YO-HEY from NOAH, Keisuke Ishii from Ganbare☆Pro, Kenshin Chikano from Dove Pro and Soma Takao from DDT all joining Hirata in the main event. Hirata’s old Kobe classmate Katsumi Tamagawa got involved too as the referee.

Hirata almost felt left out in his own main event so he pleaded with Takahashi to tag him in so he could get the victory himself. He fought to use the Hirata GO! glasses but came to the realization he doesn’t want to dance on his own anymore. Takahashi & Ishii assured him they would join in and they all put on the glasses. Even the other team found their own pairs and joined in for the big finale. Hirata then purposely singled out YO-HEY & Chikano because today will be the last time all three of them will be fighting each other in the ring. They fought to a stalemate, leading to Takao getting tagged in. He gave Hirata the Perfect Driver but the pin got broken up. Takahashi hit Takao with the Hiromu Bomber, Ishii followed up with the Kneel Kick and Hirata scored the pinfall with the Egoist Driver.

This was an unusual position for Hirata to be in so he asked the other wrestlers to talk first after the match. Takahashi said he knows Hirata the least out of everyone in the group but Hirata was the first wrestler he’s ever beaten and that was a turning point for his career. He also brought up what a great memory their match at Sumo Hall was back in November 2023. He still doesn’t understand what the rules were that day but he remembers Chris Jericho praising it. He’s had many moving matches with many wrestlers but that one has stuck with him the most. Ishii told Hirata they’ve been friends since their trainee days. Things may have changed a bit as the years have gone on and Ishii became Hirata’s senior but he thanked him for letting him join his team today. Hirata said it took 15 years for all of these dots to connect together. Good things will happen to him if he keeps going so he is glad to have become a pro wrestler.

For a show that was meant to all fun and games for everybody it took a very dangerous turn in the semi-main event. Heat between Pokotan and Yoshihiko led to them fighting each other from the get go. MAO joined in and the fight went outside the ring. MAO & Yoshihiko would then give Pokotan a double chairshot near the entranceway, causing the mascot to get busted open! Back in the ring Yoshihiko worked over HARASHIMA until Pokotan returned with a chair. Pokotan and Yoshihiko had a tug of war over the chair, accidentally knocking out Yukinori Matsui when the chair was thrusted into him. MAO attacked Pokotan with an umbrella then handed it over to Yoshihiko. Their attack backfired when Yoshihiko charged, Pokotan jumped out of the way and the umbrella stabbed straight through MAO’s stomach! More chaos happened that ended with HARASHIMA accidentally hitting Pokotan with the Somato, causing the mascot’s head to fall off. MAO & Pokotan did an Iai Kick/Canadian Destroyer for a nearfall and then won with the Double Rainmaker to Pokotan.

Things were a little bit rusty for the return of Zuncha♪Muscle Survivor. There was a moment when Shinya Aoki kicked Naruki Doi by accident but they were then attacked by the other team before anything could go further. Zuncha♪Muscle Survivor were able to regroup and get the win in the end.

Hirata promised the winner of the Battle Royal would get a special prize that he promised would cheer them up. Chris Brookes took advantage of a mistake Yuya Koroku made to knock him out of the ring. Maku Donaruto showed up as one of the surprise entries and he ended up chasing Yuni out of the ring. An even more unexpected surprise appeared when the last entrant turned out to be Kotoka, the Dragongate wrestler who retired back in 2018! Brookes was happy to see him because he was a big fan of his but that didn’t stop Kotoka from eliminating him. Kotoka then went on to win the match and Hirata’s special prize. It was one of Hirata’s old wrestling outfits. The trunks, the kneepads, the wristguards and everything. Kotoka didn’t want them and threw it all out of the ring.

Hirata’s special day meant he wasn’t the one losing a match in under 10 seconds like he usually does. That happened to Antonio Honda instead. Before the match restarted, Hisaya Imabayashi warned everyone that Punch Tominaga can be really scary and his promotion Dragongate does not allow dirty humour. That didn’t stop Danshoku Dieno because he still pulled his own wrestling tights down to “Open The Dream Gate”. Tominaga joined in the dirty jokes by using Dieno’s Dream Gate to charge him up but Dieno ran out of energy. Tominaga then ordered Imabayashi to get in the same position and joined him. While that happened, Honda was pinned by Toru Owashi to end the match leaving Tominaga frozen in an awkward position.

Saran is 16 years old yet is already reaching four years of in-ring experience under her belt.

Shota’s opponent Mikiya Sasaki is nicknamed the “Dotonbori Bronco” and is heavily influenced by Dory Funk Jr. He’s been wrestling for 20 years across the micro indies.

KO-D 6-Man Tag Titles Vacated, Hirata Might Be Booker Of The Year, Full Cards For Grand Princess & Judgement 2025

Today DDT announced the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles have been vacated by DAMNATION T.A. The status of the championship was up in the air since Sunday after KANON was kicked out of the unit. He was one third of the champions along with Daisuke Sasaki & MJ Paul but the situation between them was “deemed difficult” according to DDT for future title defences to be scheduled. A match to determine the 57th champions will be announced as soon as it is decided on. I swear DAMNATION T.A have the weirdest luck with tag team championships. They either lose them immediately or hold onto them long enough for something within them to fall apart.

Meanwhile Chris Brookes decided to defend his KO-D Openweight Title against his longtime CDK teammate Masahiro Takanashi. But this is not being done out of love or friendship. The two want to give DDT fans a fight to remember to close out one of the most important shows of the year for the company.

Danshoku Dieno and Super Sasadango Machine are threatening to give everyone the worst match ever for their DDT Extreme Title bout. Hisaya Imabayashi will be turning back into Amon Tsurumi for one night only to officiate the match.

He doesn’t understand why he’s been expelled from DAMNATION T.A but KANON wants to get revenge on Daisuke Sasaki. DDT quickly put together the singles match between them for this show.

It’s planned to be a five hour show but the card still has to be crammed together a little bit. That means Kazusada Higuchi and Shunma Katsumata will make their respective returns from injury in the same match. It’s also a good excuse to have a Harimao Vs NωA Jr. trios match.

KANON was kicked out of DAMNATION T.A to be replaced by the return of Hideki Okatani! He isn’t ready to wrestle again just yet but once April comes around, the world will see what this new version of Okatani will get up to.

In news that might be more exciting than it sounds Kaisei Takechi will be at the show as a guest commentator. He last wrestled in DDT back in October. Who knows, maybe he’ll get the itch to have a match again this year.

I wasn’t sure if Kazuki Hirata’s 15th Anniversary show was going to be a wrestling show or a special talk event. Looks like it is the former. The main event is Hirata in a 6-Man Tag Match with several wrestlers who are close to him and also a mystery partner. Keisuke Ishii, Soma Takao, YO-HEY and Kenshin Chikano have all spent a lot of time with Hirata in and out of the wrestling ring. Katsumi Tamagawa will also be involved as the referee for the bout.

Other wrestlers booked for the show include Shinya Aoki, Shigehiro Irie, Shota, Naruki Doi and Punch Tominaga.

We still don’t know who Chris Brookes wants to defend the KO-D Openweight Title against at DDT’s 28th Anniversary show. The only information we know is Brookes has whittled his choices down to about five wrestlers. He still hasn’t said who is among them.

One of Japan’s strongest tag teams have come to challenge the KO-D Tag Team Champions. If there is any pair of wrestlers out there who can match the eccentric levels of MAO & To-y it’s the Astronauts/Fighting Detectives of Fuminori Abe & Takuya Nomura!

Coming to DDT this March is the Japan debut of “The Fire” JJ Furno! He is a high flying wrestler from Melbourne, Australia who was strongly recommended to DDT by Royce Chambers. Furno will be touring with DDT for eight shows starting on 20th March until 6th April.
