The arrival of Astronauts is adding some freshness to the DDT cards. Fuminori Abe is going to face Keigo Nakamura in a preview of next month’s KO-D Tag Team Titles match. Also I bet a few people out there will be excited by the idea of Takuya Nomura and Jun Akiyama crossing paths even if it’s just in a tag match.

A change of plans for the Hanami KING OF DRUNK tournament. Takanashi’s injury reduces the Battle Royal down to eight wrestlers so it is now going to be the last two men standing who will qualify for the final. Also Chris Brookes is no longer taking part in it, presumably out of respect for Takanashi. Yuki Ueno is swapping places with him on the card instead.

The masked man from the seafood sponsorship is back! Shishamo Power will be in action.

He teased having a crazy looking schedule for the next four months heading into the summer. The first piece of that story is today’s news that he is booked for a New Japan show at Korakuen Hall on 4th April along with Yuya Koroku. It is also notable that MAO is not taking part in this year’s King Of DDT tournament despite winning it last year. Could he finally be Best Of The Super Juniors bound?

Keigo Nakamura has a very strong tag partner in Shinya Aoki but he is reaching the point where he does not want to hopelessly rely on him. Instead he wants to use his own power to beat Astronauts for the KO-D Tag Team Titles.

KANON will be returning from his brief absence ready to fight DAMNATION T.A all by himself. He has nothing left and doesn’t care if Daisuke Sasaki & Hideki Okatani trample all over him again.

Daichi Sato is officially welcomed into the DDT roster on this show. Jun Akiyama is the welcoming party.

All of Harimao will be reunited when Naomi Yoshimura comes back for his first match since November 2022.

This week DDT held a press conference at Ota Ward Industrial Plaza to promote some of the top matches happening at “JUDGEMENT 2025” this Thursday. The four title matches for the show all went through public signing ceremonies. Masahiro Takanashi admitted he was feeling overwhelmed and out of place to be in the main event KO-D Openweight Title match. He has been a part of DDT for 22 years and the early days left a strong impression with him. He thinks DDT was able to grow thanks to all the hard work of the people in the company. Chris Brookes picked him to be his opponent because he wanted to fight him. He understands it was not done out of kindness and if he loses the match he will have to take some time to think about himself. On 20th March Takanashi wants to prove he is still alive in DDT. Brookes said he has watched Takanashi fought in championship matches for other promotions and wanted to fight him in a similar way. He wants to see Takanashi shine in Korakuen Hall and not be held back by his past. That is how SCHADENFREUDE International will build an even brighter future for DDT.

At first Minoru Suzuki was unusually straight to the point with his comments. He simply said he would do his best for the DDT Universal Title match. Yuki Ueno said if he can fight Suzuki to his heart’s content it will fulfill all of his desires as the champion and then some. Suzuki then spoke up and asked Ueno if he is hiding something because he doesn’t think Ueno said everything he wanted to say. They will go all out in the ring to destroy Korakuen Hall and everything in it. Suzuki expects himself to win the match and become champion but that is not why he wants to fight Ueno. He is shocked to find out just how interesting a wrestler Ueno is and wants him to show all of his crazy side. Ueno didn’t agree and started arguing with him over who is crazy.

The rules for the DDT Extreme Title match were revealed at the press conference. Danshoku Dieno thought long and hard about the rules and decided the loser must join DDT! Super Sasadango Machine’s current deal with the company is a loose affiliation that makes him more like a freelancer than a company employee. If he loses this match he must go wrestle in more matches, go on more tours and give DDT a cut of his payments from other entertainment activities! Dieno is already part of the DDT roster so he decided if he loses then his pet dog Haku must become a full time member of the roster. Other than that the match will be held under normal wrestling rules. Sasadango doesn’t like that idea either because he’ll have no chance of winning that way!

The contract signing for the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles match began with NωA Jr. performing their song for everybody before talking about how excited they are for the match. Kazuma Sumi & Yuni have been waiting for Shunma Katsumata to recover from his injury so the idol unit would be complete again. Sumi said he will use the best version of his School Boy to win the match, Yuni wants to win the titles on his path to ultimately becoming the KO-D Champion and Katsumata thinks the belts suit them better than they suit Harimao. However they agree they will need to work together to win. Kazusada Higuchi promised to fight to the best of his ability in order to survive, Ryota Nakatsu wants to push out as strong as he can to celebrate Higuchi’s return and Yuki Ishida said he will overwhelm the idols with his masculinity.

Loser Must Join DDT Match, 3 Minutes Impact, GanPro’s Korakuen Main Event

I won’t be writing up a preview for the show because I want to keep that to big arena shows and American events. So even though DDT is celebrating their anniversary on Thursday it’s still a Korakuen Hall show at the end of the day. Also I’ve had a busy St. Patrick’s Day and would like to sleep some of it off while I have the chance. The next previews I write will be for the Las Vegas shows next month.

The DDT Extreme Title match will be held under normal pro wrestling rules however the stipulation is in regards to the result. If Danshoku Dieno wins then Super Sasadango Machine must become a full time regular member of the DDT roster again instead of his current semi-affiliation with the company. If Sasadango wins and becomes champion then Dieno’s pet dog Haku must join the DDT roster!

A few things are noticeable here in the first show after “GRAND PRINCESS ’25”. It’s mostly opponents at that show going back to teaming with each other. Saran is 16 years old yet is already reaching four years of in-ring experience under her belt.

Shota’s opponent Mikiya Sasaki is nicknamed the “Dotonbori Bronco” and is heavily influenced by Dory Funk Jr. He’s been wrestling for 20 years across the micro indies.

Enough time has passed for DDT to try running another series of shows for young wrestlers again. They’re sticking with the D GENERATIONS branding and looking at the card I can see representatives from DDTeeeen!!, DNA and Young Communication too. To-y has been the standout of the current crop so he takes on Keisuke Ishii, who was seen in a similar position to him more than a decade ago. Two days after Daichi Sato becomes an official member of DDT he faces Shigehiro Irie, a former heavyweight main eventer for the company.

There’s a couple other guests too. Daichi Kazato is coming over from BASARA and the show gives ROMANCE DAWN another chance to team together. Oji Shiiba is a former Dragongate wrestler who has spent the 2020s roaming around the indies. Ali Najima is a new wrestler from Sportiva Entertainment who only debuted last year.

DDT is putting together a competition at this month’s Beer Garden shows called Hanami KING OF DRUNK. It is to determine the No. 1 heavy drinker of springtime. There will be a 9-Man Rumble on the first show where the last three men standing will move on to the final.

For the first time ever there will be a Falls Count Anywhere Blindfold Scramble Bunkhouse Match. We will quickly figure out why there was never one done before this.

The six wrestlers who don’t qualify for the KING OF DRUNK final will be put into a 6-Man Tag so they can all nurse their hangovers together.

There will be a Wrestlers Bring The Weapons Death Match on the undercard. However each wrestler in the match is given a 5,000 yen budget and they cannot spend past it for their weapon of choice.

Will Shimomura & Ishii become a well oiled tag team in time to challenge Ryuichi Sekine & FUMA for the belts? Ishii has never held the Iron Fist Tag Titles. FUMA has never directly beaten Ishii so that is why he is giving him this chance at winning the belts.

The first match is made official for the Las Vegas Tokyo Joshi Pro show. Miu Watanabe is getting another big name foreign opponent by facing Masha Slamovich! I think this match being put together has blown open the possibilities for who will get the title matches on the same show. Whenever Slamovich is booked by TJPW she usually hovers around the champions but here she is getting Watanabe in a big first time matchup. That means Watanabe is also off the table for being in any of the title matches.

Two new names are added to the lineup. Konosuke Takeshita will be there and so too will Shunma Katsumata. No mention yet if either will be on the next day’s “DDT VS TJPW VS GCW” show. Katsumata will likely be added but I doubt Takeshita will be there.

Sayuri Namba To Graduate From TJPW In June

A press conference was held today where Sayuri Namba announced she will be graduating from her role as Tokyo Joshi Pro’s ring announcer later this summer. Her final show with the company will be the 22nd June event held in Ryogoku KFC Hall. She explained her reason for graduating is because last year she qualified for a working holiday visa and she would like to go live abroad. In fact she already has a location in mind: Vancouver, Canada. She chose that city because it is difficult to get an American visa at the moment and Vancouver is close by while also being an easy place to live in (according to people around her). She does not have any friends or know any employers who live over there so she is currently studying as a Japanese language teacher as a backup plan. Even though she is graduating from TJPW, she said she would still love to help them out whenever they go hold events overseas.

TOKYO JOSHI PRO “SAYURI NAMBA’s DREAM COME TRUE SPECIAL”, 14/06/2025
Shin-Kiba 1st RING

Before she graduates on 22nd June, there will be a special show held at Shin-Kiba 1st RING on 14th June. She doesn’t know what to do for it yet because why would a wrestling show present the ring announcer as the main character? But she is certain there will be interesting things happening that you will not see anywhere else. She is talking to people so she can come up with ideas that she thinks are interesting rather than simply being good.

No decision has been made by any side yet over how the ring announcer will be replaced. Namba is currently hooked on audition shows so she would like to do one to find her successor. She doesn’t know how many applications that would get. She would like the next announcer to be somebody who loves entertainment because having fun and being creative are the most important things about the job. She has years worth of notes saved on her phone so she can pass them on.
