BAKA GAIJIN + FRIENDS “VOL. TWELVE: TEEN AGE RIOT”, 27/02/2024
Tokyo ARENA Shimokitazawa
??? Fans
1. Mikan Cassidy defeated Antonio Honda with the Mikan Punch (15:14).
2. Chris Brookes & Masahiro Takanashi defeated Mad Dr. Ueki & Mecha Mummy when Takanashi pinned Mummy with a School Boy (12:54).
3. SWS Hardcore Title: Munetatsu Nakamura defeated Kota Ibushikoshi (c) with the Michinoku Driver II (9:51).
*Munetatsu Nakamura becomes the 173rd SWS Hardcore Champion!
4. Bonus Track: Chris Brookes & El Amigo defeated MAO & Mecha Mummy when Amigo pinned Mummy to prevent a Suicide Bombing (20:10).
No matches were advertised in advance of this month’s hangout with the Baka Gaijin + Friends. The Youtube feed only featured three matches with the third being announced as the main event. However after the feed cut off there turned out to be a bonus match featuring a new face. Or we can only assume it was a fresh face because it was obscured with a makeshift mask. A mysterious wrestler by the name of El Amigo showed up to team with Chris Brookes for a tag team free for all against MAO & Mecha Mummy. Amigo and MAO took the fight outside up above the glass roof of ARENA Shimokitazawa. They returned to the room and Amigo covered the place in fog with a fire extinguisher. The room was then at risk when Mummy looked like it was about to explode. Amigo grabbed Mummy with a hug and pinned it to the floor to get the three count. There were guesses online as to who El Amigo really is? El Desperado came out and revealed he is related to El Amigo. But he would like it if people do not tag him in pictures of his relative.
The match that was officially the main event was used as a spotlight for the future. Student pro wrestler Kota Ibushikoshi was back and he had the SWS Hardcore Title with him, ready to defend it in Baka Gaijin again. The challenger was Munetatsu Nakamura. In what could be the start of a new generational rivalry, Nakamura used the Michinoku Driver II to pin Ibushikoshi and win the SWS Hardcore Title! He was a little paranoid that other wrestlers would try to take the belt away from him during what seemed to be the show closing speech.
There was a conflict of interests in Match #2 because it was a tag match featuring all wrestlers who are currently attached to the KO-D 10-Man Tag Team Titles. The tag match was CDK taking on Mad Dr. Ueki & Mecha Mummy. However Mummy thought it was teaming with CDK and had to be convinced by Ueki to stand by his side. Brookes struggled to fight against Mummy’s steel armour and heavy weight. But when Ueki missed a Falling Headbutt from a stool, Masahiro Takanashi came to his partner’s aid. His fight with Ueki then took a pause so they could sit and drink beer together inbetween throwing strikes at each other. Ueki ended up getting drunk and stripping out of his scientist costume to reveal he was wearing his police themed wrestling singlet underneath. He then pulled out a gun and held everyone in the room hostage. Mummy stopped him with a Rocket Punch, knocking him back to sobriety. It then attacked Takanashi with the Rocket Drill. Ueki order Mummy to hold Takanashi in place so he can throw the Rocket Fist at him. The plan backfired because Takanashi ducked, the fist hit Mummy and CDK rolled Mummy up with a School Boy to win the match. Ueki blamed Mummy for the loss and it sadly walked away carrying the drill in its hands.
Antonio Honda had an unexpected opponent in the opening bout. MAO walked out wearing a tye dye denim jacket and was introduced as Mikan Cassidy! His relaxed and lazy behaviour frustrated Honda as he just couldn’t figure his opponent out. Particularly how to pull his hands out of his pockets. Mikan proceeded to wrestled almost the entire match like that, only pulling his hands out to use his own version of Gongitsune against Honda’s. The tempo changed when Honda began singing while Mikan clicked his fingers to the beat. He then dodged the Bionic Elbow and hit Honda with the Mikan Punch to win the match.
The next Baka Gaijin show will be on 9th April.

2. Daisuke Sasaki & KANON defeated Akito & Soma Takao when KANON pinned Takao after the Freedom Call (8:24).

5. Kazusada Higuchi & Yoshitatsu defeated Yukio Naya & Rukiya when Higuchi pinned Rukiya with the Brain Claw Slam (10:58).
6. DDT Universal Title: MAO (c) defeated Hikaru Machida with the Michinoku Driver II (14:27).
*V5 for MAO.
7. Kaisei Takechi Debut Match ~ Special 6-Man Tag Match: Yuki Ueno, Shunma Katsumata & Kaisei Takechi defeated Tetsuya Endo, Hideki Okatani & Takeshi Masada when Ueno pinned Okatani with the BME (20:19).

Today’s DDT show was a little bit different than usual. The big attraction was the debut pro wrestling match of Kaisei Takechi, a member of a famous dance group in Japan called THE RAMPAGE, which itself is part of an entertainment collective called EXILE TRIBE. In 2022 Takechi took a role on a TV drama about wrestling called Fukumen D. That show featured involvement from DDT (represented on the show as a fictional company called BBT, Brave Battle Truth) and it led to the two sides coming up with this deal. The hype behind today’s debut led to best business DDT’s had at Korakuen Hall in years. Tickets had been sold out for weeks thanks to THE RAMPAGE fanbase buying them up to see Takechi’s big performance.

For the main event Takechi wanted to team with Yuki Ueno, the reigning KO-D Openweight Champion who coached him during training. He also wanted to be in the ring against wrestlers his own age so DDT decided the match would be Ueno, Shunma Katsumata & Takechi against Tetsuya Endo, Hideki Okatani & Takeshi Masada. These are all wrestlers considered by DDT to be part of the same generation. Takechi got to get time fighting each one of his three opponents during the match. He also got moments to do double team moves with his tag partners. He was able to land a Diving Cross Body to Endo and slam Masada with a Full Nelson Buster. The finish however came down to Ueno pinning Okatani with the Best Moonsault Ever.

With his team declared the winners, Takechi loudly proclaimed after the match that pro wrestling is the best! He said the power of everyone who came to support him is amazing and inspired him to do even better. There is still a lot he would like to do inside the ring so if he ever gets another chance he will take it. He didn’t appreciate how Okatani treated him during the match so he would like to fight him again. There are 15 other members of THE RAMPAGE so he hopes any of the DDT Fans who are impressed with him will take up an interest in following the group. The same goes for any of THE RAMPAGE’s fans if they liked what they saw from DDT today. Ueno teased that perhaps one day Takechi will fight him for the KO-D Title but he’ll have to work a little harder to get there. So this might not be the last we will see of Kaisei Takechi in DDT!

MAO’s adventure with the DDT Universal Title took him over to fight against a high level kickboxer. Hikaru Machida. The two had unfinished business over a KO-D Tag Team Titles defence one year ago and Machida was looking to avenge losing that match. A battle of strikes broke out and then the two fought outside the ring over by one of Korakuen’s staircases. Machida hit his patented Iai Punch but MAO reached for the ropes to avoid getting pinned. MAO then used a Stunner to break out of the strikes and pinned Machida with the Michinoku Driver II to win.

MAO was full of praise for Machida and then called himself the best DDT Universal Champion ever. He announced his plans to defend the title at “DDT GOES PHILADELPHIA!” in America on 4th April. However Takeshi Masada suddenly entered the ring with his own idea. He wants to win the title from MAO before they go to America so Masada will be the champion in Philadelphia. MAO told Masada he only has one rule for this championship. He only wants challengers he feels comfortable entrusting the title with should they beat him for it. He thinks that is too high of a hurdle for Masada to climb but if the fans want to see the match, he will agree to do it at DDT’s 27th Anniversary show on 17th March.

Today is Rukiya’s 23rd birthday so he was eager to do his best in his tag match. Yoshitatsu patronised him by giving him a pat on the head and rubbing his hair. Yukio Naya played his part to keep Rukiya in the fight. He hit Kazusada Higuchi with a Knee Lift so Rukiya could then do the Proto Bomb but Yoshitatsu made it in to break the pin. Naya then had to break the pin when Higuchi gave Rukiya the Doctor Bomb. Rukiya used what energy he had left to throw Elbow Strikes until Higuchi knocked him down with a Lariat and pinned him with the Brain Claw Slam.

To-y was supposed to take on HARASHIMA but unfortunately the match was cancelled because HARASHIMA tested positive for covid over the weekend. MJ Paul became To-y’s new opponent and he attacked him with a chair outside the ring. To-y rebounded and had Paul on the ropes when the rest of DAMNATION T.A decided to interfere. Thankfully To-y had Katsumata in his corner and he stopped KANON from doing a chair attack. To-y then rolled up Paul with a School Boy during the chaos and got the 3 count for the upset victory.

While Jun Akiyama was away in America this weekend wrestling in AEW, the other two members of D.O.A teamed with Toru Owashi to take on Kazuki Hirata’s new unit. Zuncha♪Muscle Survivor’s first match together was a successful one and it was a win against two-thirds of the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Champions! The non-wrestling fans in Korakuen were given an eyeful thanks to Danshoku Dieno pulling the back of his tights down and laying himself over the top turnbuckle. Even Toru Owashi went above expectations by using the Lip Lock on Naruki Doi. A lot of wrestlers got their faces pressed against Dieno’s butt until Doi trapped Makoto Oishi with a Crucifix Pin to win the match.

Doi admitted it is shocking that Zuncha♪Muscle Survivor won their first match and it ended with him pinning a champion. That means they should get the next shot at the KO-D 6-Man Tag Titles! Oishi argued that he is the weakest wrestler in DDT so Doi shouldn’t be proud of the result. Doi disagreed because Hirata is the weakest. Oishi won’t accept the challenge unless the other team puts something on the line. Doi suggested his team put their hair on the line but Oishi refused because they all have short cuts. Oishi then offered to disband Zuncha♪Muscle Survivor if they lose. Oishi thinks that idea is too much but Doi said he would be happy with either winning the titles or breaking up the team he doesn’t even want to be part of. The challenge was accepted and will take place on 17th March. Later backstage Shinya Aoki made demands for a rematch with Chihiro Hashimoto. He lost to Hashimoto on a DDT show at the end of December 2022 and wants revenge! DDT later announced that match will go ahead at the 7th April Korakuen show.

DAMNATION T.A also used a chair as a weapon to help set up their win against Akito & Soma Takao. After a ref bump, Daisuke Sasaki kicked Takao below the belt and then hit both opponents with the chair. Then Sasaki & KANON gave Takao the Freedom Call for the tainted win.

SCHADENFREUDE International found a convoluted way to win the opening match. But before that happened Antonio Honda got to tell his latest Gongitsune joke and engage in a twisted nipple battle with Yuki Iino. Later Chris Brookes & Masahiro Takanashi physically manipulated Yuni & Ilusion into doing a Rolling Cradle on each other. CDK then piled on top of them to score the pinfall.

After the match Brookes told the fans he had a present for them and it is a dramatic dream that involves a friend of his. Out walked Zack Sabre Jr. from New Japan down to the ring! He is here because he wants to have a match in DDT! Brookes asked him who he would like to face. Sabre said Yoshihiko and the Ladder. Unfortunately Yoshihiko’s asking price is too high and the Ladder he’s thinking of has been retired for years. Sabre then said he would like to fight two champions so how about Yuki Ueno & MAO? Brookes can even team with him so it can be a tag match! Ueno & MAO heard the challenge and came down to the ring to accept it. It will happen on the 7th April Korakuen show.
DDT announced the next KO-D Title match after 17th March will be at Sumida Ward General Gymnasium on 26th April. Also Konosuke Takeshita will appear at “WRESTLE PETER PAN 2024” at Sumo Hall on 21st July.

TOKYO JOSHI PRO “BEAT POWER ’24”, 24/02/2024
Osaka Edion Arena #2

1. Chika Nanase Debut Match: Moka Miyamoto defeated Chika Nanase with the Rashomon (4:39).
2. 3 Way Match: Yuki Kamifuku defeated Pom Harajuku and Haru Kazashiro when Kamifuku pinned Kazashiro with the Famouser (6:44).
3. Juria Nagano defeated Kaya Toribami with the Senpukyaku (7:23).
4. Maki Itoh & Raku defeated Mahiro Kiryu & Shino Suzuki when Itoh submitted Suzuki with the Itoh Deluxe (13:00).
5. Bite Into The Sour And Sweet And Never Miss An Opportunity Rules: Hyper Misao defeated Nao Kakuta with a Gedo Clutch (10:01).
6. Shoko Nakajima, Rika Tatsumi & Mizuki defeated Wakana Uehara, HIMAWARI & Toga when Mizuki pinned Uehara with the Diving Foot Stomp (13:54).
7. Miyu Yamashita, Ryo Mizunami & Yuki Aino Vs Miu Watanabe, Suzume & Arisu Endo ended in a Time Limit Draw (20:00).
The main event was a preview for two of the big title matches being held at “GRAND PRINCESS ’24”. It ended without a winner since the match lasted the entirety of the 20 minute time limit. The champion team were in trouble heading into the late end of the bout. Miu Watanabe held Miyu Yamashita in the Canadian Backbreaker and Arisu Endo hit Ryo Mizunami with the Mt. Bandai. However Yuki Aino blocked Suzume’s Ring A Bell and placed her in the Full Nelson Of Love And Flame instead. She tried to finish her off with the Venus DDT but Suzume fought her off until the bell rang for the finish. Aino didn’t expect Suzume to be so persistent but it made her look forward to the Sumo Hall tag match even more. Mizunami wanted to beat Daisy Monkey quickly so they can move on to Sumo Hall. Both Suzume & Endo told Yukiniki they will not lose. Neither will Yamashita, she said she is going to use all of her power to beat Watanabe.
The match between Hyper Misao and Nao Kakuta had a special rule attached to it. Whenever one of them reached for a rope break they would have to drink a glass of undiluted lemon juice within a time limit or be disqualified. The same rules were used two years ago during the last time Misao and Kakuta wrestled each other in a singles match. Kakuta won that match but Misao claims that since then she has learned about the depth of life by seperating the sweet and the sour. She proved it by beating Kakuta to avenge the loss from two years ago.
Maki Itoh picked up the win in her return to action. She told the fans she didn’t have much to do during her seven week break and if it wasn’t for pro wrestling she would be as good as dead. Today she feels alive again! She was so excited she only got one hour of sleep last night. Raku made up for it by getting 10 hours of sleep which is the perfect combined amount for two people.
For her last match in Osaka, Juria Nagano got her hand raised by beating Kaya Toribami. It just so happens to be her first ever singles match victory too! It’s been her goal since last year to win a singles match so she thinks all the hard word and strategy paid off. She is also happy she got to wrestle Toribami because she always got advice from her whenever they trained together.
The debut of Chika Nanase saw her lose to Moka Miyamoto by submission. She struggled to break past Miyamoto’s defence so only got to show off Elbow Strikes and Shoulder Blocks. Her big mistake came from trying to use a Body Slam but she was unable to lift Miyamoto with it. Miyamoto then turned things around and submitted Nanase with the Rashomon. Nanase described wrestling a real match feels different than being in a training match. She could clearly see the fans in the crowd supporting her and motivated her. She wants to grow into a pro wrestler who can make everyone smile.
At the start of the show it was announced that Yamashita will be going on another American tour in April after Tokyo Joshi Pro’s USA show happens on 5th April. The excursion will go on for over two months and her first match back in Japan will be on 15th June. She hopes to defend the Princess Of Princess Title against Watanabe at “GRAND PRINCESS ’24” so she can bring the belt with her and defend it across many different promotions in America.

2. Danshoku Dieno defeated Rukiya with the Oyashirazu (5:54).
3. Special Single Match: Yoshitatsu defeated Soma Takao with the This Is My WWE (9:51).

6. KO-D 10-Man Tag Team Titles: Chris Brookes, Masahiro Takanashi, Antonio Honda, Takeshi Masada & Mecha Mummy (c) defeated Maya Yukihi, Ram Kaichow, Rina Yamashita, Sanshiro Takagi & Akito when Honda pinned Akito with a Japanese Leg Lock Clutch (23:45).
*V1 for SCHADENFREUDE International & Mecha Mummy.
The business alliance of DDT’s management and RebelxEnemy was not powerful enough to dethrone SCHADENFREUDE International. With the KO-D 10-Man Tag Team Titles on the line, the champions retained thanks to Antonio Honda in the end. It came down to Honda after Sanshiro Takagi got rid of Takeshi Masada with the Sling Blade and Stunner. Also Mecha Mummy’s drill failed against the toughness of Rina Yamashita. The bright spot for SCHADENFREUDE came when Chris Brookes Military Pressed Ram Kaichow out of the ring onto everyone on the floor below. Honda had to fight with Akito and came out the better of a back and forth exchange by pinning Akito with a Japanese Leg Lock Clutch. Honda thanked his team and told them they are all good men (or mecha in Mecha Mummy’s case). He admits he keeps losing and the thing he is losing most lately is the flow of time. He is 46 and that scares him. But he is able to win today’s match because of his friends. He doesn’t just mean SCHADENFREUDE International but also everyone who came to see the show today, especially those who bought merchandise! Backstage they all celebrated with drinks and splashed bottles of water over Honda. Some of it splashed onto Mummy though and it short circuited.
Meanwhile the RebelxEnemy wrestlers were mad at Takagi & Akito for losing the match. Maya Yukihi really wanted to win the titles and is so upset about losing it makes her want to cry. Kaichow put all of the blame on those two and even fired them! She doesn’t know what she is firing them from but they’re fired. Takagi pleaded with Kaichow to change her mind and offered her a new business partnership. Kaichow considered it depending on how much they will be paid for it. Takagi told her to discuss that with Akito and left him alone to deal with the negotiations. Akito didn’t know what to do so he told RebelxEnemy he will call them and then ran off. Kaichow told the others it’s no wonder why DDT only consists of men nowadays.
Two of the upcoming title matches were showcased in the semi-main event. It showed The 37KAMIINA are in good shape going against their challengers. HARASHIMA landed the Somato on Yuki Ueno but Ueno kicked out of the pin and fired back with a one legged Dropkick. Shunma Katsumata won the match in the end by catching Hideki Okatani with a standing Double Stomp to get the pinfall. Katsumata bragged about how well he’s been doing since returning from injury and he will keep the momentum going until he defends the DDT Extreme Title against Okatani. He wants Okatani to know that he can still wrestle without the need for weapons or death matches. HARASHIMA believes he is in great shape too even if the match result doesn’t reflect it.
Danshoku Dieno had a toothache going into his match against Rukiya and it bothered him throughout. Rukiya took advantage by using Headlocks and Elbow Strikes aimed at Dieno’s jaw. However Dieno countered one of the Headlocks into a Modified Armbar and Rukiya gave up. Dieno held onto the move after the match because the toothache was getting to him. Makoto Oishi had to get into the ring and get him to stop.
The new unit led by Kazuki Hirata now has a name. He is calling the group Zuncha♪Muscle Survivor! It combines a little bit of everything from the three members. Hirata is the Zuncha (rhythm of the beat), Naruki Doi is the Muscle and Shinya Aoki is the Survivor. He believes as long as the focus is on the two strong members Doi & Aoki, they won’t lose.

2. HARUKAZE & Banny Oikawa defeated YuuRI & Riara when Oikawa pinned Riara with the Majin Windmill Suplex (11:23).
3. Ken Ohka, Mizuki Watase & Tyson Maeguchi defeated Keisuke Ishii, Soma Takao & Shinichiro Tominaga when Ohka pinned Tominaga with the Shin Spear Of Flame (9:39).

5. Yuna Manase Return Match: Sayaka Unagi & Minoru Fujita defeated Yuna Manase & Yumehito Imanari when Fujita pinned Manase with the Modified Samson Clutch (18:28).
6. Spirit Of Ganbare World Openweight Title: Shuichiro Katsumura (c) defeated Takuya Wada with the Ninja Choke (14:09).
*V2 for Shuichiro Katsumura.
It’s full steam ahead as all the pieces for Ganbare☆Pro preparations to move into independent life continue falling into place. The championship scene currently belongs to Shuichiro Katsumura. He remains as GanPro’s double champion after he successfully defended the Spirit Of Ganbare Title against his tag team partner Takuya Wada. He told the fans afterwards he’s been friends with Wada for almost 30 years but haven’t gotten to fight him much. Today’s result proves that nobody is stronger than himself but if there’s anybody stronger than Wada then they should step forward. Soma Takao entered the ring but it wasn’t to challenge for the SOG Title. He invited Shota to enter beside him because ROMANCE DAWN want to fight GROUND ABSOLUTE for the Spirit Of Ganbare Tag Team Titles! Shota will be leaving GanPro to go freelance soon and Takao doesn’t know how often ROMANCE DAWN will get to team up here again in the future. In fact that may mean ROMANCE DAWN will soon become GanPro’s enemy. If they win the SOG Tag Titles then that means they can bring the belts wherever Shota decides to go next. GROUND ABSOLUTE accepted the challenge for 20th March.
A fully recovered Yuna Manase returned to the ring for her first match in around 13 months. She arrived in a new costume to team with Yumehito Imanari against Sayaka Unagi & Minoru Fujita. The opposing team carried their collection of championship belts with them to the ring. Unagi approached Manase to hug her but it was a trap and she bit her breast instead. That wasn’t the first time she did that. Manase fought back with Imanari at her side. She gave Fujita a Power Bomb and also kicked out of the SAYONARA Tombstone. Manase was at her limit throwing Elbow Strikes at Fujita but he wasn’t effected by them. Fujita then used the Modified Samson Clutch to roll her up for the three count. He congratulated Manase for her successful return and called her the symbol of GanPro. He then tried to pin Unagi for the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title as they were leaving the ring but she kicked out and chased him out of the room. Two title changes back and forth did happen between them backstage after the show. Manase said she was happy how her return match went but she does not want the story to end with her losing. She asked Imanari to help her so they can beat Fujita & Unagi together.
A Camel Clutch version of the Katahajime ended Yoshiko Hasegawa’s hopes of winning the EVE International Title. After the match Yuu thanked Hasegawa for gathering together a big crowd on a big stage for them to wrestle at. Yuu hates it when she hears wrestlers talk about their growth but she thinks Hasegawa is passionate beyond words. Since Hasegawa is becoming a freelancer that means she is going to be Yuu’s rival from now on! Yuu will win more championships for Hasegawa to challenge her for and whenever Hasegawa becomes a champion, Yuu will come looking to be her first opponent.
The show began with Shinichiro Tominaga and HARUKAZE speaking to the fans. Tominaga became a full time member of GanPro this month but has been wrestling for the promotion since its beginning. He spent the last 11 years waiting for Ken Ohka to ask him to join the company. It wasn’t until GanPro started planning its split from CyberFight that he finally asked him! Tominaga said he thought about it for only 2 minutes before he accepted the offer. His moral of the story is if you have something to say to somebody important to you, let them know right away. HARUKAZE talked about Yokohama being her hometown and how her parents’ house is only a 10 minute drive away from the venue.

Takato Nakano had his own cheering section led by Kaori Yoneyama, Cherry, Matsuzawa-san and other people related to the YMZ wrestling promotion during the main event. He was able to kick out of the Samson Clutch but Minoru Fujita eventually pinned him with the Modified Tombstone. After the match Masato Kamino challenged Fujita to a title match. Fujita asked if Kamino can drum up the same level of support as Takano did? Are Yoneyama, Cherry or Matsuzawa-san going to come back and cheer him on too? Fujita has never gotten to lead BASARA until now so he wants to fill up Shin-Kiba 1st RING with people no matter if they support him or his challengers. He agreed to the match for next month.
There was a sudden announcement that Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi missed the show due to a bout of love sickness. His replacement was a masked fighter going by the name Judomaster. He was quickly pinned by Ryota Nakatsu and admitted to Takumi Tsukamoto afterward he does not understand the rules of pro wrestling. The two teams agreed to restart the match and this time Judomaster got the hang of things. He lost again though, this time to Isami Kodaka.
The opening match also had to restart a couple of times because Gouma Ryu kept getting pinned quickly. He kept pleading on the microphone to do rematches and got the fans to side with him.

1. Toru Owashi defeated Kazuma Sumi with the Nodowa Otoshi (6:49).
2. To-y defeated Kazuki Hirata with the Kojima In Wonderland ~KOJIMA Wonderland~ (9:17).
3. Daisuke Sasaki & KANON defeated Yuki Iino & Rukiya when KANON submitted Rukiya with the Just Cobra Twist (12:02).
4. Special Tag Match: Jun Akiyama & Yoshitatsu defeated Tetsuya Endo & Makoto Oishi when Akiyama submitted Oishi with the Modified Sternness Dust α (12:19).
5. Special Single Match: Danshoku Dieno Vs Super Sasadango Machine ended in a Draw when both of them fell asleep (15:34).
6. HARASHIMA & Akito defeated Chris Brookes & Takeshi Masada when HARASHIMA pinned Masada with the Somato (10:38).
7. Special 6-Man Tag Match: Yuki Ueno, MAO & Shunma Katsumata defeated Kazusada Higuchi, Yukio Naya & Hideki Okatani when Katsumata pinned Okatani after the Oretachi no Mad Max (16:18).
The champions from The 37KAMIINA continue to rack up the wins. This time it was Shunma Katsumata getting the pinfall over Hideki Okatani before their DDT Extreme Title match next month. He blocked the Quetzalcoatl and then with MAO’s teamwork hit the Oretachi no Mad Max to win. He then rubbed salt in the wounds after the match by asking why Katsumata quickly left the ring without saying anything?
Both Yuki Ueno and HARASHIMA are feeling good while preparing for the KO-D Openweight Title match. Ueno is confident he will still be champion the next time DDT comes to Niigata and he would like to have a title defence here. HARASHIMA believes he is doing just as well as Ueno is and will spend the nex month improving his condition.
Danshoku Dieno went into the show still feeling tired from his KO-D Title match from a few days ago. Super Sasadango Machine felt concerned for his friend and wanted him to rest so he came up with the idea of doing a Recovery Death Match. He would intentionally wrestle in a way that would make Dieno relax like using massaging techniques instead of submission holds. He also gave Dieno the Vertical Drop Lehmann Shock onto a pillow. Then Sasadango put him in a Sleeper Hold and encouraged the fans to count sheep until Dieno fell asleep. However there was a setback when the counting made Sasadango feel tired too. By this point there was a quilt and futon in the ring that Dieno and Sasadango both used to take a nap. Neither of them woke up so the match was ruled a draw. The two of them continued sleeping in the ring through intermission.
To-y demanded to have a serious match with Kazuki Hirata. That went away once the Hirata GO! Glasses were brought out. To-y eventually gave in and put on a pair in order to beat Hirata.

During the weekend doubleshot both DDT and Tokyo Joshi Pro held fan events after their wrestling shows. Yesterday’s TJPW event had several of their wrestlers attend it wearing wedding dresses as a selling point. In response to that, a few of the DDT wrestlers showed up at their event wearing wedding suits. Takeshi Masada however wore a wedding dress.

TOKYO JOSHI PRO “PRO WRESTLING WINTER FESTIVAL 2024 IN JOETSU DAY 1 – SHOKO NAKAJIMA IS BACK ~ NIIGATA HOMECOMING PERFORMANCE”, 17/02/2024

1. Kaya Toribami defeated Haru Kazashiro with the Bird Cage (6:51).
2. 3 Way Match: Mizuki defeated Raku and Shino Suzuki when Mizuki submitted Suzuki with the Face Lock (8:11).
3. Yuki Aino & Pom Harajuku defeated Mahiro Kiryu & HIMAWARI when Aino pinned HIMAWARI with the Venus DDT (10:57).
4. Suzume & Arisu Endo defeated Yuki Kamifuku & Toga when Endo pinned Toga with the Ju no Okite (9:47).
5. Miyu Yamashita defeated Wakana Uehara with a Right High Kick (9:32).
6. Rika Tatsumi defeated Zara Zakher with the Figure 4 Leg Lock (8:58).
7. Shoko Nakajima & Hyper Misao defeated Miu Watanabe & Moka Miyamoto when Nakajima pinned Miyamoto with the Diving Senton (16:30).
Kyoraku Kyomei were determined not to lose in the main event of today’s show in front of Shoko Nakajima’s home crowd. It almost happened thanks to the combined power of Miu Watanabe & Moka Miyamoto. Nakajima was put in the Giant Swing and also the Rashomon but Hyper Misao was there to save her partner when needed. Misao took out Watanabe using the Kingslayer knee strike followed by the Hypami Returns. Nakajima scored the pin by giving Miyamoto the Double Arm DDT and then the Diving Senton.
After the match Nakajima complimented their opponents. She told the fans Watanabe will be challenging for the Princess Of Princess Title at Sumo Hall next month while Miyamoto has become a strong wrestler herself. But Kyoraku Kyomei wanted to show they are still growing too and will not get overtaken by their juniors. Nakajima said she works in Tokyo now but her motto is to keep the winter spirit of Niigata alive no matter how hard that gets. That will be put to the test because today it was announced Kyoraku Kyomei will face the team of Aja Kong & Max The Impaler at “GRAND PRINCESS ’24” on 31st March! Nakajima said the match will decide who the strongest kaiju really is. Misao is worried her brand new Hypami Dramatic Dream bike that cost two million yen in crowd funding could get destroyed so she won’t let Aja or Max lay a even a single finger on it. She also teased the bike has a secret function that will be used to beat the monster team.
Zara Zakher’s first tour of Japan sounds like it’s going well for her even if the match results don’t show it. She put on an impressive performance against Rika Tatsumi despite losing to her. Kazher took a lot of the match using her power but made the mistake of leaving her legs vulnerable for a Dragon Screw. Tatsumi used the move to set up a Figure 4 Leg Lock to make Zakher give up. Tatsumi was happy to have a match against a new foreign wrestler and thinks she made a new friend out of it. Zakher said wrestling in Japan is a dream come true and she wants to come back here.
The fans were behind the underdog Wakana Uehara when she took on the Princess Champion Miyu Yamashita in a non-title bout. She tried to get a pinfall using a Jackknife Pin but Yamashita returned fire with a Right High Kick for the victory. She thinks Uehara has grown a lot since the Next Generation Tournament and has always had a strong impression of her since the Yume Pro Wrestling project. She gave her a fierce fight today because she saw how fired up Uehara got during her match with Aja Kong.
The Argentine Neckbreaker Drop used by Arisu Endo is now called the Ju no Okite. It is named after the Ju no Okite code of rules learned by the Aizu clan of samurai. Apparently there is a more common version taught to school children in Aizuwakamatsu where Endo is from. It consists of rules like do not lie to others, respect your elders, don’t bully the weak, etc.

6. KO-D Openweight Title ~Naniwa Kenko Land-Yu Presents Yuki Ueno’s Sauna Room~: Yuki Ueno (c) defeated Danshoku Dieno with a Dropkick (32:38).
*V2 for Yuki Ueno.

The entirety of Shinjuku FACE was taken over by The 37KAMIINA for their third annual self produced show. However in the main even the crowd was behind Danshoku Dieno rather than Yuki Ueno for the KO-D Openweight Title match. To be fair Dieno did bring his pet dog Haku with him to the ring and everybody loves him so Ueno knew what he was in for. This could likely be Dieno’s last chance at fighting for the KO-D Title and he fought like it was. He used the Gaydo Clutch, the Canadian Destroyer version of the Danshoku Driver and the Moonsault. However Ueno used one of Dieno’s own tricks against him by giving him the Lip Lock followed by a rush of attacks. Dieno did hit best to keep fighting but a well placed Dropkick to the face put him down for the count. Ueno thanked Dieno for facing him today and showing so much heart. He remembers hearing Dieno say if he won the title today it would have changed his life. According to Ueno his own life changed a long time ago when he discovered DDT and met Dieno. He encouraged Dieno to keep sticking a middle finger up to others and continue to be his rival. Dieno said he has mixed feelings right now but he thinks DDT is really fun. He’ll get his own back by making Haku attract all the fans away from Ueno at the merch table after the show!

HARASHIMA then praised Ueno for a great match and called him the current ace of DDT. He is turning 50 years old later this year and when he took part in Yukio Sakaguchi’s retirement match HARASHIMA realized something. He wants to become KO-D Champion again by any means necessary because he is the undisputed ace of DDT! Ueno spoke about admiring HARASHIMA growing up but he is not like that anymore. He will take on HARASHIMA as the champion and surpass him as DDT’s undisputed ace! The title bout will take place at DDT’s 27th Anniversary show in Korakuen Hall on 17th March.

Forget the name Toy Kojima because he is now called To-y! The announcement was put out on short notice but he later explained online that his parents were fans of the manga artist Atsushi Kamijo and a series he made called “To-y”. They loved it so much that he was named Toi/Toy for that reason. So he decided to change his ring name to To-y starting today. For his first match under his new moniker, To-y took on Masato Tanaka. He got a nearfall with the Kojima In Wonderland (not sure if that name will change) but Tanaka won in the end using the Sliding D. To-y took the loss in his stride and said he will continue to evolve and move forward. Tanaka admitted he is jealous of him because To-y is currently one-half of the All Asia Tag Team Champions. Tanaka has never held an All Japan championship in his illustrious career.

On the day when Josh Barnett announced his plans to bring Bloodsport to Japan, DDT just so happened to use the same match environment for their own warped ideas. MAO and Chris Brookes already agreed to make their match reduce countouts down to three seconds but nobody expected the ring ropes to be removed too. It made things clear that both were determined to win the match by Countout. Brookes relied on interference from Masahiro Takanashi and Takeshi Masada but MAO was able to fight off the numbers game and knock Brookes out of the ring for three seconds to win. MAO calls this rule a new era for pro wrestling. It just needs a stupid name to go with it. He came up with calling it the Shimokitazawa No-Rope Death Match.

Shunma Katsumata has lost his two previous singles matches against Kuroshio TOKYO Japan in DDT. He didn’t lose the third match but he didn’t win it either. Instead he and Kuroshio locked each other into a Double Backslide Pin and both got the three count, ending the match in a draw. They argued over the result until the match sponsor handed the prize over to both of them. They seemed happy to share the prize until Kuroshio ran off with it and Katsumata chased after him. If that’s not bad enough, Kuroshio said backstage he prefers baths to saunas.

A magical warrior was summoned to the surface when tensions grew between members of DDT’s sauna club and public bath club. Kazuki Hirata needed a partner to help him defend the sauna club’s honour so out came Naya Tonttu. Fighting against them were Kazusada Higuchi & Makoto Oishi. Both were armed with towels and permitted to use them against their opponents. Unfortunately Naya though the room was too cold and he left Hirata to fight by himself. He would return whenever the room warmed up but it wasn’t enough and Oishi pinned Hirata to win. However Oishi went too far after the match when he talked crap about saunas only to find out the match sponsor has a sauna too. Oishi was given a Choke Slam by Naya and everybody posed over his unconcious body.

Yuya Koroku announced he will return from injury on 17th March.

DDT “INTO THE FIGHT 2024 TOUR IN NAGOYA”, 12/02/2024

1. 3 Way Match: Shunma Katsumata defeated Kazuki Hirata and Toru Owashi when Katsumata pinned Hirata with a Backslide Pin (7:08).
2. Yuki Iino & Hideki Okatani defeated KANON & MJ Paul when Iino pinned Paul with the Low-Altitude Spear (10:32).
3. Nagoya Specialty Special 6-Man Tag Match: Sanshiro Takagi, Yoshitatsu & Yukio Naya defeated Lowther, Jack Kennedy & Kazuma Sumi when Yoshitatsu pinned Sumi with the This Is My WWE (12:07).
4. HARASHIMA & Kazusada Higuchi defeated Jun Akiyama & Rukiya when HARASHIMA pinned Rukiya with the Somato (12:08).
5. Special Single Match: Daisuke Sasaki defeated Makoto Oishi with the Crossover Face Lock (10:58).
6. Special Single Match: Tetsuya Endo defeated Akito with the Swivel Torture Rack Bomb (10:24).
7. The 37KAMIINA Vs SCHADENFREUDE International!: Yuki Ueno & MAO defeated Chris Brookes & Takeshi Masada when Ueno submitted Masada with the Twister (21:05).
Before the main event began MAO told Chris Brookes that the days of settling things in the ring are over. Today is the beginning of the era of outside the ring brawling! MAO showed what he meant by bringing out a kick scooter and using it to chase his opponents around ringside. Unfortunately the venue floor was covered in judo mats and MAO crashed his scooter by tripping over the edge of one. MAO then continued fighting with Brookes around the building including on top of a high pile of mats they found in a corner of the room. The two of them were at risk of getting counted out but the match was decided when Yuki Ueno used Cara Noir’s finisher the Blackout Sleeper on Takeshi Masada. Ueno then turned the move into the Twister hold to make Masada submit in the ring.
After the match MAO challenged Brookes to have their upcoming singles match on Wednesday take place completely outside of the ring! Brookes suggested the match should have a 30 count or even a 40 count for being outside. A fed up Yukinori Matsui told them a 10 count or even a 5 count is too long for them so they might as well make it a 3 count. MAO and Brookes both loved the idea and surprisingly agreed to it! Their match on Wednesday only needs 3 seconds outside the ring to make it end in a countout.
BURNING still has a misfiring problem. During Tetsuya Endo’s match with Akito the two of them fought on the ring apron with Yuki Iino standing nearby. Akito kicked Iino from the apron and lured him into a charge. Iino tried to swipe Akito’s legs with a Lariat but Akito hopped over him and Iino ended up clipping Endo by the feet instead. Endo recovered to beat Akito and he forgave Iino after the match. He figured out it was Akito’s strategy to make that happen so it wasn’t entirely Iino’s fault. Maybe it’s 30% or 40% his fault but that’s it. Endo’s solution is to have them switch things up so they can start building up momentum as the KO-D Tag Team Champions.
Yesterday Daisuke Sasaki declared he is moving on from the KO-D Tag Titles scene and will no longer lose any singles matches. He lived up to the claim by beating Makoto Oishi today but he still needed interference from KANON & MJ Paul to pull it off.
Yoshitatsu is one of Jack Kennedy’s mentors and praised him for fighting hard against Yukio Naya. He would like to face him again whether it is in DDT or anywhere else. Sanshiro Takagi said they should do that match in the Nagoya Dome!
