For 15 years Daisuke Kiso has been doing his best to officiate the chaos and nonsense that happens in DDT and Tokyo Joshi Pro rings. To celebrate he is gathering together six wrestlers who all mean a lot to him in some way for a 6-Man Tag Match. According to Kiso, MAZADA taught him the foundations of the wrestling world while Minoru Fujita once faced him in them middle of the crossroads between wrestling and life. Yasu Urano has already pointed him down the right path and Akito has been incredibly helpful to him ever since they started working together. Since TJPW means so much to him too he picked Shoko Nakajima to be in the match because she always puts her life on the line for the company. Last but not least he wants to be a part of Yoshiko Hasegawa’s retirement road and do everything he can to help her even if it’s just this little bit.

Another important milestone happening this year is Antonio Honda’s 20th anniversary. Chris Brookes asked him if he wanted to do an entire show to celebrate it. Honda considered it would be suitable for a Baka Gaijin + Friends sized show but he doesn’t have the desire to run an event himself. Brookes then asked Honda who he would like his opponent to be and he answered maybe Daisuke Sasaki. Word eventually made its way to DDT and they went and booked the match just for him. He is grateful for it.

DDT “D GENERATIONS 2 ~THERE’S NO LIMIT TO GROWING PAINS~”, 14/05/2025

1. Special Single Match: Keisuke Ishii defeated Kazuma Sumi with the Spinning Body Bomb (8:35).
2. Soma Takao defeated Takumi Saito with the Official Endless Waltz (11:03).
3. Ali Najima defeated Yuni with a German Suplex (9:37).
4. Hideki Okatani & Ilusion defeated Munetatsu Nakamura & Shota Kawakami when Okatani pinned Kawakami with the Skewer-Style Claymore (11:38).
5. Special Single Match: To-y defeated Ryoma Tsukamoto with a Frankensteiner (9:03).
6. Special Tag Match: Shigehiro Irie & Shota defeated Takeshi Masada & Yuya Koroku when Shota pinned Masada with the Gannosuke Clutch (17:02).

The second D GENERATIONS show was a complete defeated against the Young Communication generation. All across the board the young wrestlers were beaten by their senior opponents. It started with Keisuke Ishii beating Kazuma Sumi then built up to Shota using the Gannosuke Clutch to pin Takeshi Masada in the main event. Shota told the DG wrestlers that it is ok to lose matches every now and then given how often they wrestle every week. The big mistake they made today was letting him win the match so he could give the winner’s speech on the microphone! He said his generation are the stars of the show meant for young wrestlers so next time they should take over the entire thing. When he left Sumi told the others they should join forces at the next show on 12th June to crush Shota & Shigehiro Irie because they are the future. Yuya Koroku agreed and said we can’t keep looking back at the past. The DG wrestlers should be confident in what they’re doing now to move forward.

On the bright side when the DG wrestlers fought against rookie wrestlers from other promotions most came out on the winning side. To-y had a come from behind victory against Ryoma Tsukamoto while the young DAMNATION T.A wrestlers beat the Ganbare☆Pro team with a little bit of cheating involved. Only Yuni lost his match against an outsider when Ali Najima defeated him.

The singles match between Maki Itoh and Uta Takami is going to mean a lot to Takami. She tweeted about the time she was a trainee and took an Elbow Strike from Itoh for the first time. She would never forget the pain. Then when Takami got to wrestle Itoh for the first time back in January she hit her with an Elbow Strike using all of her heart. However Itoh hit back with an Elbow Strike using all of her soul. They then had a singles match at the Garafes show in March where Takami felt like she couldn’t do anything against Itoh. It was the most depressed she ever felt so with this rematch coming up she is going to put all of her soul into it.

The two current holders of Asian championships are teaming up on this show. Yuki Kamifuku recently lost the VPW Women’s Title but still has the Queen Of Asia Title in her possession while Raku is currently the SETUP All Asia Women’s Champion.

Hyper Misao is still out of action with the right hand injury she suffered last week.

A special memorial show for the late Katsuji Nagashima will be taking place later this month. DDT, New Japan, GLEAT and Ganbare☆Pro along with the Battle News website will hold the show at the rooftop of the Yodobashi HD Ikebukuro Building in Tokyo to pay tribute to the Heisei era’s pro wrestling mastermind who passed away back in February. Admission to the event is free although visitors are encouraged to leave a donation at the reception desk with all of the funds minus the minimum expenses being donated to his widow.

The DDT match of the show will be the final match for New World Japan, the nWo Japan parody that Sanshiro Takagi put together in 2012 that included Nagashima as the unit’s backer. The GLEAT match includes Katsuhiko Nakajima who had his debut match in Wrestle Japan, the company that Nagashima helped launch after he left NJPW. The other wrestlers in the match El Lindaman, Minoru Tanaka and Yumehito Imanari also had connections with Nagashima when he was alive.

Yuji Nagata will be at the event as one of the guests for a talk show segment being held in between the two matches. Also former AKB48 idol Chisato Nakata will be the special ring announcer for the event. She was a radio host with Nakajima for over two years on a show called Avalanche Brainbuster Radio.

So how are the semi finals shaking out? Kazusada Higuchi and Yuki Ueno are both trying to climb back to the top of DDT. Higuchi’s run has been presenting him as being completely recovered from his injuries while Ueno has a specific vision of DDT in mind that he feels only he can lead. Meanwhile KANON has a grudge match with Hideki Okatani. It was Okatani who helped DAMNATION T.A kick KANON out of the unit as his replacement and the new mean streak has served him well ever since. KANON found a new path to change the error of his ways but a chance at revenge might briefly turn him back into a psychopath.

Round 2 for King Of DDT takes place this Saturday with eight wrestlers being whittled down to four. DAMNATION T.A have a chance to fill up half of the semi-finals if Daisuke Sasaki and Hideki Okatani both win their matches. HARASHIMA hardly broke a sweat in his 1st Round match though and Yuki Ueno is feeling pretty motivated to climb back to the top of DDT too. KANON is calling himself the “Yukio Naya Killer” because Naya has never beaten him in their previous singles matches. That also leaves Kazusada Higuchi and Takeshi Masada fighting each other over one of the remaining spots.

When Round 2 has been completed a lottery will be held to pair off the semi-final matches.

Since there is no guarantee that the dogs in the main event will behave themselves, Danshoku Dieno decided to book a stable, no nonsense singles match between Akito and Yukio Naya as an insurance plan just in case the main event goes wrong.

The Beer Garden show will also begin DDT’s celebration of Toru Owashi wrestling on their shows for 20 years. He first showed up on DDT’s doorstep in 2005 and he’s been working with the company almost ever since, save for a year long hiatus he took from wrestling in 2011.

Yuki Ishida is still out of action recovering from a concussion so his match with Keisuke Ishii has to be changed. The main event sees the two strongest TJPW wrestlers currently in Japan taking on the two youngest members of the roster. The youthful energy of Daisy Monkey will be pitted against the combination of years old wisdom plus earnestness found in Gabai Ji-chan & Mahiro Kiryu.

Plus Hasegawa gets two special matches with special guests involved. The main one is a tag match with against Tae Honma & Miyuki Takase bringing back memories of Actwres girl’z for the three of them. But also there will be a short exhibition match against Ai Shimizu, who has not wrestled since 2017. The two of them once starred in a wrestling themed play together back when they were both actresses and Shimizu was already gone from the wrestling business by the time Hasegawa debuted so they never got to be in the ring together. Hasegawa wanted it to happen so she came up with the idea to do an exhibition match and convinced Shimizu to do it.

Now that the American shows are nothing more than a distant memory it’s back to having matches in Japan for everybody.

A special points system will be put in place for the two Akito Vs Kazuki Hirata matches happening this weekend. There is a ten minute time limit for each match. You gets 2 Points for every 3 count pin or submission victory. You also get 1 Point if the opponent gets counted out of the ring for 20 seconds. Wrestlers are deducted 2 points if they are caught cheating or committing a foul. Akito thinks he has too much of an advantage with these rules so he allows Hirata to score 1 Point every time he puts on Hirata GO! Glasses and 5 Points if he can complete his dance during the match. The scores from both matches will be combined and whoever has the higher score is the winner.

This is the full card for the TJPW show that is happening in Japan while the Las Vegas trip is going on. Four matches that are really six when you count all rounds of the main event. Ryo Mizunami and Kakeru Sekiguchi are being called in from the reserves while the CMLL luchadora Tabata makes her TJPW debut. Tabata is the daughter of Lluvia and the stepdaughter of Ultimo Guerrero. She has been touring Japan with Stardom for an entire month while also appearing in a few Japanese indies here and there.

The first D GENERATIONS show ended with a declaration of war between DDT’s current youth movement against the Young Communication generation, a previous iteration of then DDT rookies wanting to prove themselves.

DDT “D GENERATIONS 1” Results

1. Oji Shiiba defeated Yuni with the Ungai Soten (8:43).
2. Special Single Match: Daichi Kazato defeated Keigo Nakamura with the Rocket Punch (7:08).
3. Takeshi Masada & Yuki Ishida defeated Munetatsu Nakamura & Ali Najima when Masada pinned Nakamura with the Masada No Chikara KOBU Mukimuki (12:07).
4. Special Tag Match: Soma Takao & Shota defeated Yuya Koroku & Kazuma Sumi when Takao pinned Sumi with the Gin And Tonic (10:34).
5. Special Single Match: Shigehiro Irie defeated Daichi Sato with the Beast Bomber (15:00).
6. Special Single Match: Keisuke Ishii defeated To-y with the Spinning Body Bomb (11:35).

The first edition of the new “D GENERATIONS” sub-series showed just high a mountain there is for DDT’s young wrestlers to climb. In the six matches pitting the D GENERATION against veterans and outsiders they were only able to win one match. It is a challenge that their predecessors from the Young Communication generation faced back when they ran shows similar to this for little to no money. Keisuke Ishii made it clear after the main event that his generation have the pride needed to win their matches today. The D GENERATIONS though are too dependant on DDT and the softer modern day wrestling environment. If any of the D GENERATION wrestlers were to step outside of DDT, would they be able to survive in this industry for five or ten years? The veterans here don’t think so. The complaints from Ishii, Soma Takao, Shota and Shigehiro Irie at the end of the show caused a standoff to happen between the two generations in the ring. The likes of To-y and Keigo Nakamura said they don’t care about the past or about money. This series is for the young wrestlers to show their dreams to everyone. They also would like to make a little profit and fill out the seats at the same time.

There was a press conference put together on short notice for Keigo Nakamura to make an announcement. He is going on an indefinite overseas excursion! Over the last few months Nakamura has lost important matches in places like the DDT Vs NOAH rivalry, the D GENERATIONS CUP and most recently the KO-D Tag Team Titles challenge with Shinya Aoki. By the way he hasn’t told Aoki about this plan yet. Nakamura feels like he has reached a turning point and needs to make a change which is why he will travel abroad for training. He will be doing it independantly so he can grow by himself. His final match in Japan before going on excursion will be at the 23rd April DDT show.

Tomorrow is the last preliminary matches for this month’s KO-D Openweight Title match and DDT Universal Title match. It is the last chance for Chris Brookes and Masahiro Takanashi to test each other out. Same goes for Yuki Ueno and Minoru Suzuki.

Two tag teams here that can eventually be established as potential challengers for the KO-D Tag Team Titles if they want it. Suzuki & Akito will be teaming up again here against the emerging teacher/student duo of Shinya Aoki & Keigo Nakamura.

Enough time has passed for DDT to try running another series of shows for young wrestlers again. They’re sticking with the D GENERATIONS branding and looking at the card I can see representatives from DDTeeeen!!, DNA and Young Communication too. To-y has been the standout of the current crop so he takes on Keisuke Ishii, who was seen in a similar position to him more than a decade ago. Two days after Daichi Sato becomes an official member of DDT he faces Shigehiro Irie, a former heavyweight main eventer for the company.

There’s a couple other guests too. Daichi Kazato is coming over from BASARA and the show gives ROMANCE DAWN another chance to team together. Oji Shiiba is a former Dragongate wrestler who has spent the 2020s roaming around the indies. Ali Najima is a new wrestler from Sportiva Entertainment who only debuted last year.
