Today didn’t go so well for The 37KAMIINA. They took a blow from DISASTER BOX that left them with one less championship. HARASHIMA is now the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Champion after he pinned Shunma Katsumata in the main event. He is a little excited to hold the title again but Toru Owashi warned him somebody might try to pin him while he is sleeping. HARASHIMA promised to sleep with one eye open from now on. Naomi Yoshimura noticed that Katsumata today isn’t like the one he’s faced in the past so they still need to be careful around him when the KO-D Tag Team Titles are on the line.

In 2004 Noriyuki Yoshida was a trainee at NOAH so today’s match with Jun Akiyama was a long time coming. Akiyama defeated him but shook his hand and told him “Congratulations on the 15th Anniversary!” The special occasion is why Akiyama used the Wrist-Clutch Exploder Suplex to beat him. Yoshida thanked him for remembering.

The email was signed off by Toru Owashi! A title match will go ahead at Korakuen but nobody has been confirmed for the challenger team yet.

The smell of victory was not coming from Pheromones today. Far from it. Konosuke Takeshita & Shunma Katsumata were ready to defend against their shenanigans and isolated Danshoku Dieno. After a brief absence from the ring, Yuki Iino returned with “Taboo” music playing over the speakers and he stripped off his wrestling gear. Dieno made Takeshita & Katsumata Lip Lock each other and Iino climbed the ropes to set up the Badonkadonk. However, Katsumata used a Casadora to drop Dieno onto the canvas and then Buzzsaw Kicked him, positioning Dieno beneath Iino. Iino didn’t know who was below him so he Badonkadonked his own partner! The 37KAMIINA got rid of Iino with Sandwich kicks and pinned Dieno with the MADMAX.

The result is a second successful KO-D Tag Team Titles defence for The 37KAMIINA. Also since Katsumata pinned Dieno it means Katsumata is the new Iron Man Heavymetalweight Champion so he is now a double crown champion just like Takeshita! Their next challengers came out when HARASHIMA & Naomi Yoshimura entered the ring. HARASHIMA wants to take the Tag Titles back after Katsumata pinned him for it back in June. He was champions with Yuji Okabayashi then but this time he wants both titles to be with DISASTER BOX so Yoshimura will team with him. The challenge was accepted and will take place in Korakuen Hall on 12th October. Backstage Dieno warned that this is not the end of Pheromones because they will reveal the third member soon.

It was revealed that Yuto Aijima will be retiring from pro wrestling later this year and he asked DDT to host his final match in his hometown of Omuta, Fukuoka. Aijima’s been wrestling for over 25 years and now that he is in his mid-50’s it is time to hang up his boots. He had discussed these plans with Sanshiro Takagi for two years because of the Covid-19 restrictions prevented the show from taking place anywhere. But now they have a venue and when the date is cleared it can finally go ahead.

The rules of the DDT Extreme Title match forced Shinya Aoki to wrestle like Kazuki Hirata. So he literally became Hirata and wrestled in an identical costume. Hisaya Imabayashi and Toru Owashi were the judges and it was up to them to determine if Aoki was only using moves that Hirata could do. On the bright side this gave Hirata a fighting chance. On the negative side the judges spent the entire match insulting Hirata on the microphone while they described his abilities, or lack there of. Aoki put Hirata in a Sleeper Hold but was told to stop because Hirata would rather dance in this situation. Aoki put on the glasses and dance while Hirata put him in a School Boy for a nearfall. Aoki had to use the Miracle One Shot Cradle but Hirata kicked out of it. Hirata then used his authentic version of the move but Aoki used the momentum to roll back on top and sneak away with the win. Hirata praised Aoki for how accurate the imitation is and will challenge him again when Aoki spreads the image of Kazuki Hirata across the world!

Saki Akai got the win over Yuna Manase and told her how she felt afterwards. Manase is too loud and proud which annoys Akai. But they’re both from the same generation and their careers began around the same time. It is up to the likes of them to create new wrestling fans. If the passion of Ganbare☆Joshi works for Manase then she should continue down that path. Akai accepts it might not be the wrong way after all and if Manase ever becomes stronger, they will have a rematch. They had a pinkie swear to mark that promise.

Three of DDT’s most bizarre gimmicks were put together in a trio and the results were as weird as expected. Takagi noticed that Mecha Mummy was shorter than the last time it appeared. Yoshihiko didn’t do anything until it was provoked. Pokotan’s movement was familiar enough for Antonio Honda to think it was Mizuki Watase in disguise. Mummy was rendered useless thanks to cold spray and Yoshihiko was thrown out of ringside. But when Honda demanded Pokotan to give up, Pokotan shouted for help and Yoshihiko returned this time with a noticeably bigger “shadow” behind it. Yoshihiko cleared the ring and gave Honda the Exploder Suplex. The shadow then unmasked to reveal Jun Akiyama! He threw Yoshihiko on top of Honda for the pin to end the match. Akiyama had to join in with the team’s post-match interview backstage and had to ask if any of them could talk. Akiyama had to answer questions on their behalf until he got fed up and went home.

After intermission Takagi announced a new addition to the DDT Teenage Project. It is Vent Vert Jack from the MY WAY promotion in Kyushu. Jack is 16 years old but has been wrestling with his father Vent Vert Negro for almost a decade. He has been in DDT before and is even a former Iron Man Champion. He isn’t the only one joining the brand though. Jack said his MY WAY classmate and rival Yousei☆Estrella will also be joining the project. Backstage Takagi joked about knowing several child wrestlers across Japan and name dropped Mr. #6 from Nagoya.

The Union MAX Title match has been postponed and Minoru Fujita will face Gouma in a singles match instead. The IRON FIST Tag Titles match has been moved up to the main event with Akiyori Takizawa substituting for SAGAT.

The Double Title match is now just for one championship after Shinya Aoki lost the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title at a charity football game DDT was at. Danshoku Dieno is now the current champion. Aoki still has the DDT Extreme Title so that is up for grabs against MAO.

DDT went to Hokkaido to host an Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title defence during a charity football match. Shinya Aoki successfully held onto the title by winning a 5 Way Falls Count Anywhere Match. But afterwards Yukio Naya knocked him out with a chair. Retired football player Masayuki Okano saw an opportunity and pinned Aoki to become the new Iron Man champion! Danshoku Dieno then got his hands on him and Okano submitted the title to him in order to get away.

Yesterday Makoto Oishi made Shunma Katsumata submit and then demanded a KO-D Tag Team Titles shot. He is the leader of Junretsu so Akiyama has to go along with another big title match against Takeshita just one week before he defends the KO-D Openweight Title against him.

Speaking of double titles, Shinya Aoki now holds the DDT Extreme Title and the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title. He has to defend both but he is busy falling for scams and losing his savings in the process. MAO was chosen to be his next opponent.

In news that makes zero difference to us non-Japanese speakers, the DDT Extreme Title has been renamed to… the DDT Extreme Title. In Japanese they are changing the name from DDT EXTREME級王座 to DDT EXTREME王座. So they’re just getting rid of 級 which means weight class or grade. I and everyone else always ignored that bit for the Extreme Title so nothing changes for us. While I’m at it I’m going to stop typing UNIVERSAL in upper case for the DDT Universal Title so I can keep things consistent.

Sasaki keeps getting quick wins over Ueno, all thanks to kicking him in the groin. Ueno wants to fight Sasaki in a clean match for once but he also realises this is just who Sasaki is. With that said, Ueno feels the need to defend the Universal Title no matter which version of Sasaki shows up. Sasaki accepts the match but warns that the humiliation he keeps putting him through is not good for Ueno’s career in the long run.

You are not reading the list wrong, there are currently two Match #1s. Since there will be two wrestling rings set up on site, DDT decided to put two singles matches that will both take place at the same time, one in each ring. There was not enough space on the card to do Toru Owashi Vs Antonio Honda and Danshoku Dieno Vs Kazuki Hirata one after the other so this was the compromise.

Two new debuts will take place on the show as part of a secret project DDT has been putting together. The DDT Teenage Project is a new class of young pro wrestlers that have been training in DDT’s dojo. The first two wrestlers to debut are El Unicorn (13) and Ilusion (18). There are two others currently in training and DDT are looking for more male students aged 15-18. DDT are still holding regular tryouts for new trainees over 18 alongside this project. This class is completely separate from DDT’s regular dojo training and the goal is to eventually launch a new sub-brand of wrestling shows for these wrestlers. El Unicorn stands out because his age is below the range allowed. There’s evidence out there suggesting who the kid will be under the mask. Not naming names but it’s obviously a certain kid DDT was already booking and training before the pandemic hit. Also Rekka on Twitter spoils it by pointing out the pun in El Unicorn’s name.

The build up to “WRESTLE PETER PAN 2021” took some extra twists and turns in Shinjuku FACE today. Makoto Oishi submitted Shunma Katsumata in the main event then asked him what kind of champion is he to lose like that? Oishi felt he deserved a KO-D Tag Team Title shot over the result and wants Jun Akiyama to team with him for it. The title match will take place on 15th August. That’s six days before “WRESTLE PETER PAN”. Konosuke Takeshita warned Akiyama that he is going to beat him in two title matches in the same week. Oishi is confident that Katsumata is the weak point of The 37KAMIINA. First Junretsu will beat him and then Akiyama will beat Takeshita.

Barring submission holds in the double title match proved to be a big task for Shinya Aoki to get through. He had to brawl with Chris Brookes around ringside using chairs and plastic cases. Back in the ring Brookes Power Bombed his opponent onto a bunch of chairs while Aoki later put him through a table with a Piledriver. Aoki reminded everyone he is still a decent striker by breaking a case in Brookes’s hands with a High Kick. There was a scramble for pins and Aoki got the three count using the Dial Hold. After the match Aoki explained to everyone that he recently fell for a scam where he gave somebody a million yen for the promise of receiving two and a half times that amount back four months later. He doesn’t have time to think about who to defend both the DDT Extreme Title and Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title against. Not when his life has been ruined! He asked Hisaya Imabayashi to find him a “sexy” opponent like Keigo Nakamura. That was turned down so he asked for MAO instead. MAO accepted the challenge and the double title defence will happen on 15th August.

In a repeat of what happened at King Of DDT, a referee distraction led to Daisuke Sasaki giving Yuki Ueno a Low Blow and pinning him in a quick match. Afterwards Ueno asked Sasaki why does he never fight fair? Still, a loss is a loss and Ueno offered to put the DDT UNIVERSAL Title on the line against him. Sasaki warned Ueno not to do that because he is a future star who recently pinned Kaito Kiyomiya. Losing to Sasaki again would only humiliate him further. Ueno pushed for the title match and Imabayashi booked it for “WRESTLE PETER PAN”. Ueno and Sasaki shook hands afterwards. Sasaki then kicked Ueno below the belt and left the ring with the title belt in his hands.

Eruption won their match today but Saki Akai was left feeling unsatisfied. She stopped Kazusada Higuchi & Yukio Sakaguchi from leaving and asked them about regaining the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles. Sakaguchi asked if Akai really is ready to face the current champions in DAMNATION. Akai slapped Sakaguchi in anger and then slapped Higuchi too even though he never said anything. She told them chances don’t fall by the wayside in today’s DDT. If Sakaguchi & Higuchi aren’t going to take the lead then she will do things her own way! She stormed off, leaving the other two confused in the ring.

The opening match had no winners because Antonio Honda and Kazuki Hirata both hit Daisuke Kiso with their deadly strike moves by accident. Those two along with Danshoku Dieno and Toru Owashi all argued after the match. They all started challenging each other to main event matches at “WRESTLE PETER PAN” until Imabayashi told them all to shut up. He explained that there are not many spots left for singles matches at the show. Only one match can be made. Hirata suggested they can do two singles matches at the same time because there will be two rings set up in Fujitsu Stadium Kawasaki. Imabayashi thought that is a great idea and booked Owashi Vs Honda and Dieno Vs Hirata for DDT’s first (and probably last) ever Double Ring Double Singles Match!

Sanshiro Takagi announced his prized Dramatic Dream Mobile had to be sent for repairs after “CYBERFIGHT FESTIVAL 2021”. It will return in complete condition on 30th July so Takagi is having a special match for it. He will face HEAT-UP wrestler and competitive cyclist SHINGO in a match where all attacks involving bikes are legal!

A secret project was revealed for the first time. The DDT Teenage Project trained four teenagers into becoming pro wrestlers. The first two wrestlers will make their debut at “WRESTLE PETER PAN”. They are El Unicorn (13 years old) and Ilusion (18 years old). They will both be wrestling in masks and concept art of their costumes were shown.

Mizuki Watase announced his return match will happen on 15th August. He has been out of action since February with an arm injury.

A lot of time was spent by Chris Brookes thinking up the stipulation for the double title match against Shinya Aoki. He decided on No DQs and also No Submission rules. Moves that are normally illegal are allowed but almost all kinds of submission holds will be banned. The only kinds that can be used are holds the referee will deem too dangerous to use in normal matches. Aoki complained about the rules but Brookes explained that he also is at a disadvantage because he cannot use the Octopus Hold. Therefore they will be on equal footing. Aoki thinks the rules will create the worst wrestling match of the century. Brookes disagrees. His felt his title defence against Saki Akai brought new aspects to her wrestling game. So from now on he is using his DDT Extreme Title matches to show new sides of his opponents that no one has ever seen before. Aoki had no choice but to accept the stipulation. He had to be reminded that his Choke Holds won’t be allowed either.

Konosuke Takeshita says everything is in order for him to become the KO-D Openweight Champion again. His King Of DDT victory showed he now has the physical ability, mental attributes, luck and momentum to be the top wrestler in DDT. He has lost two singles matches to Akiyama that both took place last winter. It was up to Takeshita to fix his own problems and it began with his appearances in AEW back in April. As a result of his own actions over the last three months, Takeshita is now confident to fight Akiyama to see who is best. Even though Akiyama is well accepted into the DDT family at this point, Takeshita is still going to treat him as the enemy.

As if having Atsushi Onita isn’t enough to keep the hardcore flavour around, Jun Kasai will be on the show too. Katsumata and Brookes have a little bit of tag history with him. MAO fought him in a Hardcore match a few years ago too.

The first ever all Up Up Girls championship match is here! Hikari Noa puts the International Princess Title on the line against Raku after Raku pinned her on today’s show. Raku used a new Cross-Arm Backslide move that she has since named the Hurricane Turn. Noa wanted the match to take place in Ryogoku KFC Hall so she can get her win back in the same place.

Yuki Arai will be on the show. She is eager to win her first match but her four losses so far are already disappointing her.

The DDT Extreme Title & Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title continue to be linked together. Shinya Aoki defended the Iron Man Title at a hot spring earlier today and challenged Chris Brookes for the Extreme Title. Brookes has been a double champion with both belts before and become one again this way. However if Aoki loses the title before the match takes place, then their match will still go ahead with just the Extreme Title on the line.

1. Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title – Falls Count Anywhere 4 Way Match: Shinya Aoki (c) defeated Chris Brookes, Shunma Katsumata and Yukio Naya when Aoki pinned Naya with the European Clutch (25:39).
*V1 for Shinya Aoki.

The folks at DDT have taken a liking to Kumamoto Castle Natural Hot Spring and vice versa. The hot spring’s director invited Shinya Aoki to defend the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title inside the spring. Aoki and his three challengers wasted no time in starting the match.

First they fought in the dressing room but quickly made their way into the public baths. Shunma Katsumata tortured everyone by pouring jugs of hot water over them. Chris Brookes threw him into a castle of chairs for revenge.

Yukio Naya was thrown into a hot shower where he fainted in agony. Katsumata tortured Brookes even further with dripping hot water. Naya knocked all three of his opponents into the electric bath, giving them all electric shocks.

The fight moved over to the bathroom where Toui Kojima was dragged into the chaos. Then it was over to the open-air bath where Katsumata did two Moonsaults. Everyone moved out of the way so he landed in the baths both times. He was able to give Brookes a Death Valley Bomb but Aoki broke the count.

Aoki and Katsumata fought their way into the sauna. Katsumata used a towel to send heat waves into his opponent but all it did was revitalise Aoki! He countered the ¡Hasta la vista! into a Sleeper Hold but Naya broke it up. Naya put Aoki in the Cobra Twist but Aoki skillfully escaped the hold. He then rolled Naya up in a European Clutch in the sauna to get the 3 count for a successful title defence.

Aoki celebrated the win by first taking a bath and then second challenge Brookes for the DDT Extreme Title. He asked Brookes for a handshake but Brookes splashed water into his face and then ran off. It was decided that a Double Title match between Brookes and Aoki will take place on 15th July!
