3. Hero Of Shizuoka, 40 Year Old Makoto Oishi! Trial Single Match!: Yukio Sakaguchi defeated Makoto Oishi with the Throat Sleeper Hold (7:10).
4. MAO Marunage Match ~ Falls Count Anywhere Tag Match: Hiroshi Yamato & Shunma Katsumata defeated MAO & Sanshiro Takagi when Yamato pinned MAO after Takagi drove into MAO with a car (17:45).
5. DAMNATION Vs DISASTER BOX: Daisuke Sasaki & Soma Takao defeated HARASHIMA & Yuki Ueno when Sasaki submitted Ueno with the Cross Facelock (13:56).
6. The World’s Most Healthy Numazu Specialty! Special Tag Match: Konosuke Takeshita & Akito defeated Tetsuya Endo & Mad Paulie when Akito pinned Paulie with an Inside Cradle (14:43).

Things were looking bleak for ALL OUT when for the second show in a row Tetsuya Endo threw Konosuke Takeshita over the top rope from the Torture Rack position to the outside. However Akito was the legal man and he successfully rolled Mad Paulie into an Inside Cradle to win the match out of nowhere. Endo still ran down Takeshita on the microphone. He’s gone past Yukio Sakaguchi, Keisuke Ishii and Makoto Oishi in his KO-D Openweight Title run so far. At Ota Ward Gymnasium Endo promises he will be at his maximum strength. Takeshita’s response is he will increase his own power levels on the road to “WRESTLE PETER PAN 2019”. He will be at 120% when they wrestle at Kasukabe Hall next week then by the time they make it to Ota Ward he will be at 200%!

Takeshita also warned Endo about Sanshiro Takagi waiting for his chance to cash in his Right To Challenge Gauntlet. Takagi came out and told Endo he wasn’t cashing in today. He is instead acting mature and being patient. Akito closed out the show by promoting ALL OUT’s KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles shot against the Sendai Girls and also his next DDT Extreme Title defence.

Daisuke Sasaki continued to attack Yuki Ueno after their match. Naomi Yoshimura came to the rescue and scared off Sasaki. A chair was thrown into the ring by Sasaki but Yoshimura threw it back at him.

At first the new team Big Boss Express looked good together. Sanshiro Takagi used a marker to scribble on Hiroshi Yamato’s back while MAO attacked Shunma Katsumata with an umbrella. The match went outside where MAO stacked Yamato & Katsumata on a table and Takagi jumped off a van to splash through them. MAO held his opponents up while Takagi got in the van and drove towards them. Yamato & Katsumura broke free and got out of the way. MAO didn’t move in time and was hit by the van! He was then pinned right there on the road. Yamato & Katsumura returned to the ring after the match to sing a victory song.

Sakaguchi and Oishi bowed to each other after their match. Oishi can rest easily knowing that he isn’t on Sakaguchi’s kill list.

A Choke Slam from Yukio Naya put Kota Umeda down long enough for Masahiro Takanashi to grab the win. Naya and Kazusada Higuchi both said they had fun fighting each other and are looking forward to a singles match together.

Match #2 featured a lot of teased kissing spots. Yoshimura was left frozen for a kiss from Nobuhiro Shimatani that never came. He didn’t snap out until well after the match was over.

6. KO-D Tag Team Titles: Daisuke Sasaki & Soma Takao (c) Vs Yuki Ueno & Naomi Yoshimura
7. Road To Wrestle Peter Pan! Special 3 Way Match: Tetsuya Endo Vs Konosuke Takeshita Vs Chris Brookes

After their last KO-D Tag Team Titles defence, Daisuke Sasaki said that he and Soma Takao would pick who their next challengers will be. They went quiet for a few days until Sasaki emerged with an Amidakuji/Ghost Leg puzzle that decided DAMNATION’s next three challengers. Unfortunately the process was heavily flawed because the three teams picked were all impossible to book for one reason or another. Hisaya Imabayashi disregarded Sasaki’s choices and nominated proper teams instead. On this show Sasaki’s choice of challengers was himself and Yoshiaki Yatsu. Imayashi pointed out that Sasaki is already the champion so Yuki Ueno & Naomi Yoshimura are getting the shot. Oddly enough Imabayashi didn’t sound negative on the idea of Sasaki having to wrestle himself.

Danshoku Dieno is trying to become immune to all martial arts in order to defeat the MMA master Shinya Aoki. His plan to do this is pit himself in a gauntlet of matches against pro wrestlers with martial art and combat sport backgrounds. Now I know what some of you are thinking. Why is he fighting a swimmer? Because Aoki proved last year that he is just as dangerous in the water than he is in the ring. The inclusion of Kabaddi is Dieno thinking outside of the box too.

9. KO-D Tag Team Titles – Souken Holdings Presents: Daisuke Sasaki & Soma Tako (c) Vs HARASHIMA & Yasu Urano
10. KO-D Openweight Title: Tetsuya Endo (c) Vs Konosuke Takeshita

Takagi ordered Imabayashi not to book him on the show unless he is in the main event. The only way that can happen is if he cashes in his Right To Challenge Gauntlet during or after that match.

Sasaki’s Amidakuji puzzle selected Joey Ryan & Candice LeRae as the KO-D Tag Title challengers for “WRESTLE PETER PAN”. That’s impossible because LeRae is signed to NXT and it is also too late to endorse her for a visa. Sasaki offered to sign her up for a tourist visa but shut down into depression when Imabayashi said she already registered her details with Johnny Gargano. HARASHIMA & Yasu Urano are the challengers instead, creating an unwanted Smile Squash reunion with Soma Takao.

If Ueno & Yoshimura win the KO-D Tag Titles on 30th June, then they will defend the belts against HARASHIMA & Urano. Sasaki & Takao will then be demoted down to teaming with Nobuhiro Shimatani in the opening match.

2. KO-D Tag Team Titles: Daisuke Sasaki & Soma Takao (c) Vs Joey Ryan & Hiroshi Yamato
3. KO-D Openweight Title: Tetsuya Endo (c) Vs Chris Brookes

The last Amidakuji team was supposed to be the newly married celebrity couple Ryota Yamasato & Yu Aoi. Instead we’re getting Joey Ryan & Hiroshi Yamato. It is possible that this title match will be cancelled if Sasaki & Takao lose the championship before the show. What is most likely to happen is the new tag champs will defend the belts in their place but DDT has not ruled out getting rid of the match altogether.

One last thing, DAMNATION have a four year plan in place for his personal goals. In 2019 they want to defend the KO-D Tag Team Titles, in 2020 they want to win gold at the Olympics, in 2021 Sasaki wants to visit the moon and in 2022 Sasaki wants to get married to a divorced Candice LeRae in May of that year.

*V2 for Tetsuya Endo. Keisuke Ishii cashes in his Right To Challenge Anytime, Anywhere Gauntlet.
5. Road To WRESTLE MATUSYAMANIA! Special Tag Match: Yukio Sakaguchi & Mizuki Watase defeated Tetsuya Endo & Mad Paulie by Knockout when Sakaguchi knocked out Endo with the God’s Right Knee (1:13).
6. Road To WRESTLE MATUSYAMANIA! Special Handicap Match: Daisuke Sasaki defeated Kazuki Hirata & Maku Donaruto when Sasaki submitted Hirata with La Mistica Cross Facelock (11:46).
7. King Of DDT 2019 – Final: Konosuke Takeshita defeated Soma Takao with the Fable (21:11).

When it comes to tournaments, the last six months have been a dominant one for Konosuke Takeshita. He now adds the King Of DDT to his 2019 collection along with the D-Ou Grand Prix and New Year’s Shuffle Tag Tournament. In the final Takeshita defeated Soma Takao, ending DAMNATION’s three year iron grip on the competition. He kicked out of the Official Endless Waltz and also the Reverse Gory Special Bomb. The big reversal in fortune came when Takeshita countered a top rope Gin And Tonic into an Avalanche Canadian Destroyer. From there he hit a Lariat, a Zehi Knee Strike and then the Fable to win. With this victory Takeshita now has a KO-D Openweight Title shot at “WRESTLE PETER PAN 2019” on 15th July. He doesn’t know who if he will face Tetsuya Endo or Yukio Sakaguchi for the title but either way there will a break in the new era. He will either have to fight the glamorous high flying of Endo or the killer aura of Sakaguchi. Either one will be an exciting path for him. In the end, Takeshita says he will be the one to choose this new era. The new era of Konosuke Takeshita will begin at Ota Ward Gymnasium on 15th July! For Takao his dream of main eventing Ota Ward is over. That is unless he can win the last remaining Right To Challenge Gauntlet…

The Canadian Destroyer being used as a counter for the Gin And Tonic was something that haunted Takao throughout the show. A big version from Takeshita ended his hopes of winning the final but in the semi-final HARASHIMA also hit the counter on Takao in the middle of the ring. However Takao had HARASHIMA scouted and he countered the Somato into the Official Endless Waltz for a nearfall. When the two got back up Takao did a High Kick and dropped HARASHIMA with the Reverse Gory Special Bomb for the win.

The earlier semi-final left both Takeshita and Kazusada Higuchi drawing blood from each other. Takeshita got a bloody nose from a Headbutt while Higuchi bled from the mouth after some late strikes. The match ended with a Lariat duel. Higuchi hit first but Takeshita hit harder and that gave him the win.

A 2 Vs 1 Handicap Match gave us a preview for next month’s KO-D Tag Team Title match. The outcome does not look so good for the challengers. Daisuke Sasaki had his hands full by dealing with both Kazuki Hirata & Maku Donaruto but Donaruto’s lewd antics took the match in a different direction. For his big spot Donaruto stripped out of his gear and wore nothing but a gold thong underneath. Whatever he tried to do, the plan backfired and Hirata took the brunt of the attack instead of Sasaki. What little hope the team had left vanished when Donaruto missed the McFly Bomb and Sasaki trapped Hirata with La Mistica Cross Facelock to get the submission. Hirata apologised to Donaruto backstage for the poor teamwork but he noticed something when Donaruto spoke back to him. Donaruto’s voice wasn’t as low as it was before. Is he slowly turning back into Hirata’s old roommate from the Kobe dojo? Hirata remembers taking a picture with him pretending to be tag team champions back when they lived together. Maybe they can make that a reality on 2nd June after all.

The fifth match of the show was ready to begin when Keisuke Ishii suddenly came out. He lived up to his promise to cash in his Right To Challenge Guantlet. However to him it made no sense to get his title shot after Tetsuya Endo’s match when Endo would be too tired. That would make the winning the KO-D Title meaningless in his mind. So instead he was cashing in his title match now before the tag bout could begin! Despite the noble intentions, Ishii was unable to beat Endo. The champion kicked out of the Tiger Suplex and dodged the Kneel Kick. Ishii kicked out of the Torture Rack Bomb but was put away with the Shooting Star Press.

Endo got on the microphone to brag about his victory but he completely forgot that Yukio Sakaguchi was still at ringside waiting for their tag match to begin. From out of nowhere Sakaguchi ran in and hit Endo from behind with the God’s Right Knee. The tag match was officially declared to have begun while Sakaguchi had Endo locked in a Sleeper Hold. Mad Paulie tried to save his partner but Sakaguchi got rid of him with the God’s Right Knee. One more God’s Right Knee struck an exhausted Endo and Daisuke Kiso ruled he was unable to continue. I’m not even sure Mizuki Watase did anything of note, the win was all Sakaguchi’s.

Sanshiro Takagi was dared by the younger generation of wrestlers to put his Right To Challenge Gauntlet on the line in a 5 Way Match. Before the match begun it was announced that the match would also be fought under Scramble Bunkhouse Hardcore rules. Everyone begun the match starting at a different part of Korakuen Hall but when the bell rang Takagi was immediately targeted by the other four. For the most part it felt like a Handicap Match. MAO broke plastic cases over Takagi’s head, Kota Umeda put him through a table and the two of them were aided by Naomi Yoshimura and Yuki Ueno for a Tower Of Doom Suplex spot to Takagi. Ueno then turned on the others by smashing a case over Yoshimura and attacking the rest with a chair. Ueno went for the Diving Body Press but Takagi used another plastic case to break Ueno’s fall then rolled him over for the three count. Takagi celebrated by hitting a Diving Press onto one more plastic case next to the stage. He said backstage that all of his opponents are stronger than him but they are also really bad friends so he saw Ueno’s betrayal coming.

Antonio Honda damaged his right hand and was unable to do the Gongitsune effectively. He tried doing it with his left hand but the move was still underpowered. His solution was to summon Toru Owashi, Makoto Oishi and Danshoku Dieno to form an Avengers Gongitsune for one big powerful attack! It was so powerful that Saki Akai could not block it. Unfortunately the attack missed its target and Super Sasadango Machine took the blow. Akito then made Sasadango submit to a Figure 4 Leg Lock. Akito says he is physically and mentally ready for the DDT Extreme Title match with Honda. He just has to wait for Honda to choose the match stipulation.

In the pre-show match Ricky Starks got to show off his vocal skills by singing “Livin’ la Vida Loca” while doing the Old School rope walk on Gota Ihashi. Mike Rollins took care of Nobuhrio Shimatani while Starks pinned Ihashi with a Spear.

Some more matches were announced for “WRESTLE PETER PAN 2019”. DDT’s newest signing Yukio Naya will take on Hideki Suzuki. Naya says he is close with Suzuki so he is glad to get a singles match with him. The other new match is Danshoku Dieno Vs Shinya Aoki!

Chris Brookes will be wrestling in DDT throughout June and July as part of DDT’s relationship with Fight Club: PRO. He was introduced in a video parodying the Time’s Up teasers New Japan have been showing on their events lately. This was done to make fun of Brookes being a popular guess for that reveal. Takagi said he met Brookes in New York and was surprised with what he saw in him. He thinks Brookes can do a better job of making DDT more exciting than the current young wrestlers in the company. If the younger Japanese wrestlers can’t do this job then Takagi has no problem with relying on the young foreigners instead.

Naya is the grandson of famous sumo wrestler and 48th Yokozuna Taiho Koki. He is 25 years old, 201cm tall, weighs 130kg and has two years of experience under his belt. Naya would like to wrestle the other heavyweights in DDT like Kazusada Higuchi and Yuki Iino. He also wants to participate in the Rojo Wrestling outdoor shows. After all he wants to be in DDT to wrestle in DDT matches.

3. Chihiro Hashimoto Vs Yuki Iino
4. Meiko Satomura Vs Konosuke Takeshita
5. KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles: Meiko Satomura, Chihiro Hashimoto & DASH Chisako (c) Vs ALL OUT X, X & X

The feud between ALL OUT and the Sendai Girls is getting its own event! In order to settle this rivalry completely, they agreed to four separate singles matches followed by a KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles defence as the headliner. The ALL OUT team has not been determined yet so could they have a surprise in store for the champions? What if Space Monkey comes in as a swerve?!?

Meiko Satomura has promised that the Sendai Girls will be fighting with all of their strength until they and their opponents will burn out. Konosuke Takeshita likes that because ALL OUT’s theme is that they use their full power in the ring. Yuki Iino is still embarrassed that he was pinned by Chihiro Hashimoto’s German Suplex to lose the trios titles. Katsumata’s match with DASH Chisako is under regular rules but he hopes it can be fought like a Hardcore bout. Akito said he doesn’t know much about Mika Iwata other than she does kicks. He’s used to wrestling against kickers in DDT so he thinks she doesn’t have much of a chance against him.

1. Falls Count Anywhere 4 Way Tag Match: Sanshiro Takagi & Kazusada Higuchi defeated Konosuke Takeshita & Akito, HARASHIMA & Naomi Yoshimura and Makoto Oishi & MAO (w/ Danshoku Dieno) when Higuchi pinned Oishi with a Canadian Backbreaker Drop onto a table (42:32).

The latest in DDT’s outdoor shenanigans had them put together a 4 Way Tag match inside the Granduo Kamata shopping centre. The day began up on the roof where a small futsal court is located. The four teams were introduced and ready to start the match when Danshoku Dieno entered the court carrying a football. He wanted everyone to have a kickaround instead of fighting each other.

A fun game was played but when the goals started being scored, the wrestlers started getting agitated over bad tackles including one from Makoto Oishi to Konosuke Takeshita that Takeshita said was certainly a foul. The game fell apart when the wrestlers attacked each other and we were back to the wrestling match.

The match found its way to the Beauty & Relaxation centre on the 8th floor. HARASHIMA put MAO in a Rolling Cradle while Akito used some products to mess with Oishi’s hair.

MAO escaped from HARASHIMA to fight Naomi Yoshimura at the entrance to a restaurant. Akito cut off MAO and put him in a Figure 4 Leglock, starting a chain of submission holds between all the wrestlers.

Next up was a book store where Sanshiro Takagi warned everyone to be quiet. He then found a ring bell, snuck up behind the others and hit the gong by their ears. Takeshita lifted Takagi up into a Torture Rack and carried him out of the store.

Another chain of submissions was created over in the fashion section, this time a chain of Necklocks. Dieno took the opportunity to go down the chain giving everyone the Danshoku Nightmare. He then created the Danshoku Hell Car with Oishi until Pokotan showed up and gave Dieno a Low Blow. It was explained that the Hell Car was rolling towards Shibata Station and Pokotan prevented them from going out to the street into public.

They got no further than to the concourse where Takagi slammed Oishi onto some cardboard boxes with the Spicolli Driver. Kazusada Higuchi also gave Takeshita a Brainbuster onto another pile of boxes. Everyone then found a white sofa to do moves onto like Yoshimura Suplexing MAO onto it then MAO giving Akito the Michinoku Driver.

HARASHIMA took control and had Takeshita where he wanted him after a Buzzsaw Kick. But Dieno reappeared and gave HARASHIMA the Lip Lock. Oishi brought out a Ladder and had Dieno put himself in the Hell Gate position on it. Yoshimura, Takagi, MAO, Akito and Pokotan were all thrown into the Hell Gate but HARASHIMA blocked Oishi and threw him into Dieno’s rear end too. Higuchi then slammed Oishi onto a table with a Canadian Backbreaker Drop and pinned him to win the match for himself & Takagi.

3. Makoto Oishi & Kouki Iwasaki defeated Hiroshi Yamato & Yuki Iino when Iwasaki pinned Iino with the Vertical Drop Brainbuster (9:37).
4. Yukio Sakaguchi & Koji Yoshida defeated Tetsuya Endo & Nobuhiro Shimatani when Yoshida pinned Shimatani with the Emerald Flowsion (8:57).
5. King Of DDT 2019 – Round 2: Kazusada Higuchi defeated Masahiro Takanashi with the Doctor Bomb (7:12).
6. King Of DDT 2019 – Round 2: Soma Takao defeated Akito with the Reverse Gory Special Bomb (9:10).
7. King Of DDT 2019 – Round 2: Konosuke Takeshita defeated Naomi Yoshimura with the Caballo 2020 (14:46).
8. King Of DDT 2019 – Round 2: HARASHIMA defeated Daisuke Sasaki with the Somato (12:59).

We are now down to four in the King Of DDT and one of them is making a miraculous comeback. HARASHIMA won the opening match Battle Royal to re-enter the tournament then in the main event defeated Daisuke Sasaki to reach the semi-finals. Konosuke Takeshita used a new version of the Camel Clutch called the Caballo 2020 to beat Naomi Yoshimura by submission. Soma Takao continues to be unbeatable when he uses the Reverse Gory Special Bomb, this time getting the win over Akito. Last but not least Kazusada Higuchi beat Masahiro Takanashi in a match where Takanashi had none of his lookalikes around to help him.

The semi-final draw was held at the end to determine who faces who at Korakuen Hall on 19th May. Takeshita and Higuchi picked the blue balls out of the box while HARASHIMA and Takao grabbed the pink ones. So we’re getting Takeshita Vs Higuchi and HARASHIMA Vs Takao!

Yukio Sakaguchi and Tetsuya Endo spent a lot of time fighting each other in their tag match. Sakaguchi put Endo in a Sleeper Hold at ringside and kept him held there while Koji Yoshida hit the Emerald Flowsion on Nobuhiro Shimatani.

Tomoya gave a speech about his recent election into the Noboribetsu City Council. He said that back in 2012 a one year old infant in his region died from abuse. Ever since then he has wanted to stop bullying and abusive behaviour which led to him running for the city council. He thanked everyone for their continued support.

After intermission Sanshiro Takagi was asked when he would like to cash in his Right To Challenge Gauntlet for a KO-D Openweight Title match. He said he is 49 years old now but will be hiring a personal trainer so he can get back into the shape he was in 10 years ago. He probably won’t cash in his Gauntlet until he reaches that goal. Suddenly MAO and Yuki Ueno interrupted the interview and dared to set up an anal explosion inside the venue. Takagi stopped them by announcing he will defend his Gauntlet in a match that will include MAO and Ueno on 19th May.

DDT’s return to Sapporo on 5th and 6th October will be part of a co-sponsored series with Big Japan.

3. Yukio Sakaguchi, Antonio Honda & Ricky Starks defeated Toru Owashi, Kazuki Hirata & Hiroshi Yamato when Starks pinned Hirata with the Double Arm Facebuster (11:39).
4. Makoto Oishi Marunage Match: Danshoku Dieno Vs Makoto Oishi ended in a No Contest when Mizuki Watase and Yuki Ueno attacked them (5:25).
4a. Rematch: Mizuki Watase & Yuki Ueno defeated Danshoku Dieno & Makoto Oishi when Ueno pinned Oishi with the Atlantida Buster (7:46).
5. DISASTER BOX Vs ALL OUT!: HARASHIMA & Naomi Yoshimura defeated Akito & Yuki Iino when Yoshimura pinned Iino with the Shonenba (11:43).
6. Aomori Specialty Special 6-Man Tag Match: Daisuke Sasaki, Tetsuya Endo & Soma Takao Vs Konosuke Takeshita, Mike Bailey & MAO ended in a Double Countout (10:59).
6a. Falls Count Anywhere & No Tag Rules: Daisuke Sasaki, Tetsuya Endo & Soma Takao defeated Konosuke Takeshita, Mike Bailey & MAO when Endo pinned MAO with the Shooting Star Press (10:59).

The main event went out of control when a bunch of dives out of the ring led to the two teams fighting among the crowd and all getting counted out. MAO said they couldn’t end the match like this because DDT only comes to Aomori once a year. He asked for a restart this time with Falls Count Anywhere rules. The bell rang and everyone immediately took the match outside the building. Tetsuya Endo did a Moonsault off of a drinks machine. The match found its way back into the ring where Endo pinned MAO with the Shooting Star Press. Daisuke Sasaki actually got a little sentimental after the match because his grandparents are buried in Aomori and he doesn’t get to visit that often. The story was enough to make Nobuhiro Shimatani cry. But enough about that, Sasaki let Endo finish the rest of the speech so Aomori could hear the voice of a champion.

Makoto Oishi’s Marunage bout with Danshoku Dieno turned into a grudge match when Dieno attacked him at the start of the show. In the match itself they fought outside the ring until Dieno gave Mizuki Watase the Lip Lock. Oishi then stripped off Watase’s shorts and whipped Dieno with it. Later Dieno attacked Yuki Ueno and stripped off his shorts. Watase & Ueno had enough and together attacked Dieno & Oishi causing the match to get called off. Ueno said he was sick of the sexual harassment from Dieno. The match was suddenly turned into a tag match between Dieno & Oishi against Watase & Ueno. Dieno & Oishi controlled most of the match with their lewd antics until it eventually backfired and Ueno pinned Oishi with the Atlantida Buster. Ueno wanted everyone to forget about what they saw and move on but Dieno asked for another match for next week’s show in Niigata.

Kazuki Hirata wanted to make a grand entrance from the balcony but he never expected Yukio Sakaguchi would be up there to put him in a Sleeper Hold. Antonio Honda changed up his Gongitsune routine and would have gotten into a romantic embrace with Toru Owashi if it wasn’t for Hirata and Ricky Starks breaking them up. Hirata and Starks then slowly leaned towards each other for a kiss when Hiroshi Yamato pulled down the back of Starks’s tights. Hirata still stood there waiting for a kiss so Sakaguchi kicked him. Starks pulled his tights up and then pinned Hirata with the Double Arm Facebuster.

4. King Of DDT 2019 – Round 1: Soma Takao defeated Mike Bailey with the Reverse Gory Special Bomb (10:08).
5. King Of DDT 2019 – Round 1: Naomi Yoshimura defeated Kazuki Hirata with the Shonenba (9:42).
6. King Of DDT 2019 – Round 1: Daisuke Sasaki defeated Yukio Sakaguchi with a Rope Assisted Pin (11:37).
7. King Of DDT 2019 – Round 1: Masahiro Takanashi defeated MAO with a Backslide Pin (2:15).
8. King Of DDT 2019 – Round 1: Akito defeated HARASHIMA with a Cradle (14:26).
9. King Of DDT 2019 – Round 1: Konosuke Takeshita defeated Yuki Ueno with a Zahi (20:45).

The King Of DDT 2019 first round saw seven wrestlers advance to Round 2. However hope is not all lost for those who were defeated today. The winners all met in the ring at the end of the show to face each other. However Masahiro Takanashi went missing and was instead represented by Baliyan Akki wearing the same clothes. Daisuke Sasaki carried a long bamboo stick with him while Naomi Yoshimura put his full attention on Konosuke Takeshita. When that was happening Tetsuya Endo came out wearing a full suit and using Nobuhiro Shimatani as a stepping stool to get in and out of the ring. Endo announced he will soon choose one of the seven “little fish” that lost today to defend the KO-D Openweight Title against on 2nd June.

The King Of DDT Round 2 matches are Kazusada Higuchi Vs Masahiro Takanashi, Soma Takao Vs Akito, Naomi Yoshimura Vs Konosuke Takeshita and Daisuke Sasaki Vs the winner of the Losers Battle Royal.

Friendships don’t matter in this tournament. Takeshita proved this after his match with Yuki Ueno. He looked like he was lifting Ueno back to his feet but instead Takeshita threw him out of the ring! Ueno got back into the ring and Takeshita offered a handshake but it was kicked away. Takeshita explained backstage that he was sending a message that he is still No. 1 in DDT. This is how strong his desire is to win. He is always driven but now he should be showing he is something to be feared.

HARASHIMA is entering a bit of a slump. He lost the DDT Extreme Title yesterday and today got eliminated in the 1st Round by Akito. Although Akito is happy with the win he is not convinced that he has surpassed HARASHIMA because he only pinned him with a cradle.

Masahiro Takanashi had to be at his trickiest to beat MAO. He grabbed a chair to distract Yukinori Matsui while Baliyan Akki entered the ring to attack MAO while disguised as Takanashi. MAO later did the Spaceman Plancha but Akki took the blow instead of Takanashi. Then Shota stepped up to the ring disguised as a fan to blow a party popper in MAO’s face. Takanashi used the distraction to pin MAO with a Backslide and advance to Round 2.

More cheating happened down the card as Daisuke Sasaki low blowed Yukio Sakaguchi en route to winning his match with his feet on the ropes.

Last year Kazuki Hirata began his miracle run in the tournament by beating Naomi Yoshimura. Sadly, this year is not going to be the same. This time around Yoshimura beat Hirata to avenge what happened a year ago. A lot has changed since that match. Hirata and Yoshimura are now on the same side in DISASTER BOX for example. They agreed to let bygones be bygones for the sake of their unit.

The Reverse Gory Special Bomb has immediately become a killer move for Soma Takao. In two days he has pinned both members of The Moonlight Express with it. He has learned the move in order to win the KO-D Title from Tetsuya Endo at “WRESTLE PETER PAN 2019” in July. Today’s result was so easy for Takao he is acting like he didn’t even wrestle and he is advancing to Round 2 on a bye!

Memories of DNA were floating through the heads of Kazusada Higuchi and Kota Umeda as they fought each other. But just like back then Higuchi was the one with his arm raised at the end. He faced off with Akki at the end of the show thinking it was Takanashi. All he noticed was the guy he confronted looked more serious than drunk today.

Wait I thought yesterday was Keisuke Okuda’s farewell match. Oh well, here’s another one.

8. KO-D Openweight Title: Tetsuya Endo (c) defeated Makoto Oishi with the Shooting Star Press (28:18).
*V1 for Tetsuya Endo.

So close yet so far for Makoto Oishi. He went into the main event with a lot of support but little chance of beating Tetsuya Endo for the KO-D Openweight Title. But boy did he take a crack at it! Knowing that he had already beaten Endo with the Ground Cross 200 earlier this month, Oishi targeted Endo’s legs with Knee Crushers and a hanging Figure Four wrapped around the ring post. When Oishi finally applied the Ground Cross 200, Mad Paulie distracted the referee in order to break the hold. Endo also came close to losing after Oishi hit a Moonsault outside the ring, leaving Endo to barely escape a countout by entering the ring at 19. Oishi had one more unexpected trick to use and that was to give Endo a Danshoku Dieno style Lip Lock so he would be left vulnerable for a Piledriver. A Spinning Backfist and the Jikiden Tornado Clutch was the closest Oishi came to winning with a 2.9 pin count. But when Endo recovered he struck Oishi with the Handspring Overhead Kick and got a nearfall with the Spinning Torture Rack Bomb. From there Endo hit the Shooting Star Press for the victory.

Oishi was taken out of the ring to cheers but Endo stayed to hear what will happen next in the KO-D Title scene. Hisaya Imabayashi told him his next scheduled defence will be in Matsuyama on 2nd June. Endo joked that he wanted Nobuhiro Shimatani to be the challenger. Instead Keisuke Ishii walked out wearing his Right To Challenge Guantlet. Ishii told Endo he will cash in the Gauntlet for a KO-D Title match on 19th May at Korakuen Hall. Imabayashi told Ishii that this year the Gauntlet rules have changed and DDT will not permit any preempted cash ins. Ishii told him he has a plan and will use his cash in at the right time on the show to make it a surprise as the rules intended. So DDT cannot officially confirm or advertise Endo Vs Ishii for the title on the 15th but it will happen there somehow.

In a rematch from last December, Shinya Aoki avenged his loss to Konosuke Takeshita. In order to get into the different vibe of the match, Takeshita wrestled barefoot in plain black trunks. Aoki put him in a Sleeper Hold but Takeshita reached the ropes and stepped out to the apron to break it up. When Aoki let go, Takeshita jumped from the apron and Headbutted his opponent. He did a German Suplex, put Aoki into a Crab Hold and transitioned into a Cross Armbreaker. However control switched to Aoki and he cinched in the Foot Choke to make Takeshita give up. The two shook hands and bumped fists after the match.

The KO-D Tag Team Titles match was chaos as three teams fought it out for the belts. The champions Daisuke Sasaki & Soma Takao jumped everyone to start things off then The Moonlight Express hit a double Moonsault to the outside onto Ricky Starks & Mike Rollins. Sasaki put both Starks and Mike Bailey into a stacked Cross Facelock until MAO broke it up with a Springboard Senton. The Express gave Sasaki the Michinoku Tornado Driver but Starks & Rollins broke the pin. The Express got rid of Starks & Rollins when Bailey hit a Standing Shooting Star Knee Drop onto Rollins on the apron while MAO hit the Cannonball 450° on Starks. However Sasaki distracted the referee so Takao could give MAO a Low Blow. Takao then used a Vertebreaker (DDT is calling it a Reverse Gory Special Bomb in their results) to get the win and keep the tag belts in DAMNATION. Backstage MAO is disturbed over the result. He revealed his goal for the last three years was to get rid of DAMNATION and revert Tetsuya Endo back to the way he was before he joined that group. Recent events have been a major setback but MAO promises he will achieve his goal some day. Rollins is upset he lost his first Korakuen match. Starks said the two of them are Psycho & Sexy. They will always have a chance to win the tag titles the next time they come back to DDT. Sasaki mocked Takeshita for running away from the match to go play pro wrestling with Aoki.

Both HARASHIMA and Antonio Honda entered the ring wearing towels around their waists. They took off the towels to reveal they were both wearing panties over their gear. It was time for the Panty☆Hunt Tiger Cub Rope Death Match! The rules were the first person to remove their opponent’s panties would be the winner. But HARASHIMA and Honda also had to wrestle while they were tied together with a tiger rope with a cuddly little stuffed tiger toy attached to it. Honda used the tiger toy as a shield because HARASHIMA was too nice to harm the tiger. The two would then tie each other up in the rope until HARASHIMA hit the Somato. But Honda used the momentum to roll on top of HARASHIMA’s back and pull his panties off to become the new DDT Extreme Champion! HARASHIMA congratulated Honda on the win and when he left, Akito came out to challenge Honda. Akito brought up when Honda said the Extreme Title matches were the most exciting of his career. It was the same for Akito which is why he wants a title shot. They agreed to have the match in Kitazawa Town Hall on 25th May.

It’s a little over a year until the Olympic Games reach Tokyo but DDT is getting into the swing of things early by bringing in Yoshiaki Yatsu to wrestle for them. He kept everybody on their toes but it was Sanshiro Takagi who had the winner’s spotlight on him at the end. Takagi yelled “Thank you Heisei!” before he hit Hiroshi Yamato with the flying Clothesline From Hell to end the match. Takagi is now in possession of the Blue Right To Challenge Gauntlet.

Today was the first time Saki Akai & Asuka teamed together. It worked out great for them since they beat Mad Paulie & Nobuhiro Shimatani. However Akai admitted the teamwork she had with Asuka felt incomplete. It needs more power because that is how Meiko Satomura measures other wrestlers no matter their gender. Since Akai only wrestles in DDT she went looking at other interesting places to find someone to give her team more power. She found that person. Joining Akai & Asuka for the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles match on 11th May is Hikaru Shida!

Keisuke Okuda ends his tenure with DDT by kicking Yuki Iino in the head. There is no bad blood coming out of the match. Okuda shook hands with everyone and they all posed for a group photo. His history with Yuki Ueno in DNA is also water under the bridge as they were on friendly terms during the backstage interviews. Okuda also said he will miss Naomi Yoshimura because they wrestled as the Naomi Kingdom together. Okuda is now gone from the company but he thinks his path will cross with the DDT roster again in the future.

Two months after its pro wrestling debut, the mascot Pokotan returned to the ring for its second match. Disaster struck when Kazuki Hirata chopped Pokotan’s head off, revealing the top of its robotic frame underneath. Pokotan went haywire and attacked Hirata relentlessly. Yukinori Matsui tried to stop the mascot but he got thrown out of the ring, causing a disqualification. Pokotan then attacked everything in sight until Danshoku Dieno placed its head back on. That fixed the problem and Pokotan was back to its friendly, lovable self.

Dieno was part of the show opening festivities but got ambushed by Gota Ihashi and Nobuhiro Shimatani on two separate occasions. Dieno was able to fight both of them off in ways that only he can to stay as the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Champion.

Kenta Kobashi appeared after intermission to promote his next Fortune Dream show on 10th June. Kazusada Higuchi will be teaming with Yuji Okabayashi for a match against the NOAH team of Yoshiki Inamura & Go Shiozaki. When Ishii announced his plans at the end of the show he turned over to Kobashi at the commentary table and told him how much of a big fan he is of him. Ishii brought up Kobashi’s match with Terry Gordy on 21st May, 1993 in Sapporo that he is particularly fond of. Ishii said he will shine like Kobashi did on that day when he cashes in his title shot.
