7. Special Single Match: Yuki Ueno Vs Kazuki Hirata

The growing grudge between Yuki Ueno and Kazuki Hirata over the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title will come to a head with a singles match now booked for next month. Ueno keeps winning the Iron Man Title from Hirata and Hirata keeps attacking Ueno with a hammer to win it back. Right now the belt is not on either of them but the grudge still needs to be settled so they can both have clear heads going into Sumo Hall. Well, I’m not sure how clear a head can get when you smash one with a hammer but I’ll let them worry about that.

“The Black Sheep” Carnatux from Bahrain contacted Daisuke Kiso this week telling them he is moving to Japan in December. One of the reasons he is travelling over is to become the first wrestler from the Persian Gulf region to wrestle in DDT! He has spent his career wrestling across the Middle East.

To-y and Koroku’s second match against each other is happening in Osaka.

2. Queen Of Asia Title & VPW Women’s Title: Yuki Kamifuku (c/c) Vs Lei Ying Lee

The Asian Double Crown match that was meant to happen between Yuki Kamifuku and Xia Zhao in October will now take place at Tokyo Joshi Pro’s last show of the year. Zhao is now wrestling under the name Lei Ying Lee and she just recently signed a new deal with TNA. Kamifuku is now upset she will spend the end of her year worrying about a big title match where she’ll have to fight the opponent by herself.

TJPW is ending the year with their own Royal Rumble with 20 participants taking part. There will be a new entrant every 90 seconds and elimination will be by pinfall, submission or throwing someone over the top rope to the floor below. There will be guest wrestlers involved as well as the usual TJPW roster with names to be announced soon.

Yuki Arai will be on the show. She made a big announcement today that she will be graduating from SKE48 on 31st March next year. Nothing was said in regards to her wrestling career so we have to wait and see where her future lies. Will she be graduating from TJPW too next year or does this mean she’s going give her full commitment to wrestling in 2025?

BASARA “BASARA 261 ~SOUEN~” Results

November 8, 2024

BASARA “BASARA 261 ~SOUEN~”, 08/11/2024
Shin-Kiba 1st RING
??? Fans – Unannounced

1. Lil’ Kraken defeated Takeru Inoue with the Period. (7:23).
2. Basara Jacket 4 Way Match: Daisuke Sekimoto defeated KUBITO, Gouma Ryu and Banana Senga by TKO when Ryu injured his back giving Sekimoto the Argentine Backbreaker (R3 1:47).
3. SAGAT & Antonio Honda defeated Yasu Urano & Masahiro Takanashi when SAGAT pinned Urano with the Superman Press (14:25).
4. Tsutomu Oosugi defeated Daiki Shimomura with the Tsuki no Ishi (10:19).
5. Isami Kodaka & Minoru Fujita defeated Daichi Kazato & Ayato Yoshida when Kodaka pinned Yoshida with the Modified Samson Clutch (23:12).

On 24th November Isami Kodaka will be challenging Ayato Yoshida for the 2AW Openweight Title at Korakuen Hall. Due to scheduling 2AW were not able to book any prelim matches between the two so BASARA organised one for today. Kodaka’s team went into the match with a small disadvantage because Minoru Fujita wrestled with a dislocated and fractured thumb joint. Yoshida was made to team with Daichi Kazato against his wishes because he had enough of him from his previous BASARA appearance in August. He was right to be concerned because Kazato decided to hurt his own hand before fighting Fujita to make sure it was now an even fight between them. Also Kazato ended up costing Yoshida the match when he missed a Rocket Punch and hit his partner by mistake. Kodaka then put Yoshida in the Modified Samson Clutch for the three count.

Kodaka told Yoshida after the match he will give it his all on 24th November and won’t beat him in a weird way like today. He’s been a champion in many promotions but never for 2AW so he’s looking forward to adding one of their championships to his collection. Fujita also promoted his own match on the show and offered to be in Kodaka’s corner. The two of them allowed Yoshida to close out the show but he got annoyed because he doesn’t understand why they would let him do that. He also got angry at the fans booing his closing speech. Backstage Yoshida said BASARA and its fans are all messed up and full of annoying people.

Gouma Ryu’s bad back became a problem for him again. He wanted to put Daisuke Sekimoto in the Argentine Backbreaker but didn’t have the strength to lift him. KUBITO and Banana Senga helped Ryu commit to the move but when Ryu lifted Sekimoto onto his shoulders his back went out and he had to give up the match. Sekimoto wanted to read out a legal indictment out of the match but Senga interrupted him. Senga then revealed the Turnabout Pro Wrestling Trial will return next time.

The Period. (the full stop is intentional) used by Lil’ Kraken is a Standing Shining Wizard.

DDT “CHARISMANIA” Results

November 6, 2024

DDT “CHARISMANIA”, 06/11/2024
Shinjuku FACE
500 Fans – Super No Vacancy Full House

1. KUBITO & Naohiro Katsumi 19th Anniversary Match: KUBITO defeated Naohiro Katsumi with the Crossface Lock (6:59).
2. Ram Kaichow, Endo Kaichow & Kodara Kaichow (w/ Mataro) defeated Brahman Shu, Brahman Masa & Brahman Keigo (w/ Brahman Kei) when Ram pinned Keigo with a School Boy (10:12).
3. Demus, Ilusion & Anarko Montaña defeated Kaito Ishida, Shunma Katsumata & Diego when Ilusion pinned Diego with the Swanton Bomb (10:53).
4. Ryuichi “Fire” Kawakami & MJ Paul defeated Masashi Takeda & Daichi Sato when Paul pinned Sato with the Reverse Splash (15:27).
5. Special Single Match: Shigehiro Irie defeated KANON with the Beast Bomber (17:37).
6. The Greatest Wrestling Match Of CHARISMANIA: Daisuke Sasaki & Yuko Miyamoto defeated Dick Togo & Minoru Fujita when Sasaki submitted Fujita with La Mistica Crossface Lock (25:19).

Has the student has surpassed his master? Daisuke Sasaki is now entering his 20th year as a pro wrestler so to celebrate he organized “CHARISMANIA” and put himself in the main event with his mentor Dick Togo as well as two wrestlers he looks up to Yuko Miyamoto and Minoru Fujita. All four wrestlers are used to either wrestling dirty or fighting in violent death matches but they instead all fought clean for today’s special match. Togo used La Mistica Crossface Lock on Sasaki and Fujita followed up with the SAYONARA Tombstone. They wanted to finish him off with the Double Impact but Miyamoto cut them off. Sasaki gave Togo the Pedigree and then used his own La Mistica Crossface Lock to submit Fujita. Sasaki & Miyamoto received a prize from members of the rock band HEAD PHONES PRESIDENT for winning the main event.

Sasaki said the other three wrestlers will eternally be his idols. For his 20th anniversary he wants to finally surpass his master and challenged Togo to a singles match. Togo said he isn’t in the best condition right now and there is a clear difference between them. He asked Sasaki to wait five years so Togo can get into his best shape and also get to wrestle the match at 60! Sasaki will be turning 40 next November but don’t tell him he’s getting weaker as he gets older. He doesn’t have time to get old and promised he will defeat his master eventually! Sasaki also wants to run “CHARISMANIA” as an annual event until he’s held it 2000 times!

Naturally DAMNATION T.A were the featured players for most of the show. KANON also took the fair play route when he fought Shigehiro Irie. He tried fighting as hard as he could by giving Irie a Falcon Arrow as well as the Cobra Twist. Irie smashed him with an Elbow Strike, dropped him from the top rope with an Avalanche Back Flip and pinned him with the Beast Bomber. KANON gave Irie the middle finger instead of shaking his hand after the match.

It wasn’t all clean and fair fighting from the DAMNATION T.A wrestlers. Ryuichi “Fire” Kawakami & MJ Paul got into a chair fight with Masashi Takeda & Daichi Sato during their tag match. To be fair, Takeda was just as responsible for making the match violent and also wanted to attack Fire Damnation with his pair of scissors. Sato also stepped up to Paul but was ultimately beaten by him with the Reverse Splash.

Ilusion was joined by Demus & Anarko Montaña to take on the babyface trio of Kaito Ishida, Shunma Katsumata & Diego. Demus brought a more grimy style that worked well with Ilusion & Montaña’s high flying. It ended with that team getting the win when Ilusion pinned Diego with the Swanton Bomb.

Match #2 was the Brahman Army taking on the Kaichow Army with a lot of wrestlers taking either gimmick. The Brahman Brothers got Masahiro Takanashi & Keigo Nakamura to act like them while Ram Kaichow convinced Tetsuya Endo & Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi to copy her looks and behavior. Kaichow also brought along the now retired Mataro to be in her team’s corner. Mataro is the member of DDT’s video team who was kept getting put into DAMNATION T.A’s matches during this year’s Beer Garden shows until he was forced to retire from the bit. The Brahman Army attacked him with bats, poured buckets of water over him, dripped slime from their mouths onto him and also put him in the line of fire for the bowling ball suitcase spot. He at least got revenge by doing the same bowling ball spot to the Brahmans. He then got blinded when Kaichow missed her Ectoplasm powder throw and hit him with it by accident. Brahamn Shu threw the suitcase at Kaichow but she dodged it and Nakamura got hit instead. Kaichow took advantage and pinned Nakamura with a School Boy to win.

Two other wrestlers from the SUPER CREW class who debuted along with Sasaki got a spot in the opener. KUBITO beat Naohiro Katsumi in a match that celebrated the 19th anniversary of their debuts. It was also Katsumi’s first wrestling match in 12 years! The two made comments to each other during the match about how long it’s been since they last saw each other. Katsumi also gradually remembered his signature moves as the match went on.

He won’t be able to wrestle for a while yet but is capable of being at ringside for Brahman Shu’s matches again. HARUKAZE still has not won a match since Ganbare☆Pro went independent. She hopes teaming up with Black Menso-re is what she needs to finally grab a win for herself. Moeka Haruhi has PSYCHO as her partner to try and continue HARUKAZE’s losing streak.

DDT “NEVER MIND 2024”, 22/12/2024

DDT wants to end 2024 on some high notes by running a Korakuen Hall show and a Sumo Hall show in the last few weeks of December. For Korakuen Yuki Iino is getting a singles match against Tomohiro Ishii! What will it be like when a Stone Pitbull is BURNING?

DDT “ULTIMATE PARTY 2024”, 28/12/2024
Tokyo Ryogoku Kokugikan

1. O-MENZ Kumadori Debut Match: Kumadori Vs X
2. Haruto Sakuraba Debut Match: Haruto Sakuraba Vs X
3. KO-D Openweight Title: Chris Brookes Vs Daisuke Sasaki

I have to say I didn’t expect to see Chris Brookes win the KO-D Openweight Title from Shinya Aoki. Even more so I didn’t expect the next Sumo Hall main event to be Brookes Vs Sasaki for the belt. Sasaki is sick of hearing people like Brookes in DDT talk about love and dreams. He is more motivated to make the lives of those people a living hell than he is to become the champion again.

More personalities from the entertainment world are coming to make their pro wrestling debuts in DDT. This time it is a masked man named Kumadori from the “Dance Terrorist Group” O-MENZ. According to Kumadori he is one of the most muscular members of the group and he wants to unleash his breakdancing wrestler skills in the ring. This deal came together when Kumadori met Sanshrio Takagi through a mutual acquaintance. He told Takagi directly that he wanted to give wrestling a try. I looked up some O-MENZ videos online and I think the closest comparison I can think of is they’re like a Japanese version of Jabbawockeez.

BASARA “BASARA 258 ~SOUEN~” Results

October 11, 2024

BASARA “BASARA 258 ~SOUEN~”, 11/10/2024
Shin-Kiba 1st RING
??? Fans – Unannounced

1. Takato Nakano defeated Takeru Inoue with a Step-up Enzuigiri (8:15).
2. 2 Vs 4 Handicap Match: FUMA & Gouma Ryu defeated Takumi Tsukamoto, Yasu Urano, Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi & KUBITO when Ryu pinned Hiroshi with a Diving Body Press (12:47).
3. Masato Kamino & Yusuke Kodama defeated Isami Kodaka & Ryota Nakatsu when Kamino pinned Kodaka with the Lariat (9:07).
4. Billy Ken Kid defeated Daichi Kazato with a Cradle (12:37).
5. Union MAX Title: Minoru Fujita (c) defeated Masahiro Takanashi with the Modified Samson Clutch (22:21).
*V7 for Minoru Fujita.

It was around four years and eight months ago when Masahiro Takanashi defended the Union MAX Title against Minoru Fujita. It would be the last successful defence of his reign and he would lose the belt a month later by getting injured during his next title match. He never felt like he was beaten for the belt. Fujita meanwhile has been carrying the defeat to Takanashi ever since it happened and wanted the chance to exorcise it. So today’s match was an important title match for both wrestlers. Takanashi can regain the MAX Title and continue from where he was cut off or Fujita beats him properly and avenges his defeat from 2020. Either way Takanashi came to BASARA to finally get some closure.

The match was a bitter fight and Fujita even admitted out loud he waited four years for this. He did the Tombstone Piledriver but Takanashi kicked out of it. Fujita then countered the Takatonic and went for another Tombstone but it was turned into a Cradle for a nearfall. The two wrestlers kept countering Cradle moves on each other until Fujita pinned down Takanashi with the Modified Samson Clutch for the three count. Fujita said he worked really hard for this win which is why he is really happy about it. He and Takanashi now both have one win against each other. Takanashi said they could settle their score with a drinking contest in the ring. The two did just that with Takanashi finishing his drink before Fujita could. Fujita called Takanashi an irreplaceable friend who is always there for him. Also Fujita now has the record for most MAX Title defences in a single reign.

Daichi Kazato tried using a lot of unusual rolling moves to confuse Billy Ken Kid but in the end Kid was able to roll Kazato onto his shoulders and pin him down for the victory.

Even though Isami Kodaka lost to Masato Kamino he asked him for a UWA World Tag Team Titles shot after the match. Kodaka also said Hideyoshi Kamitani will be his partner because they haven’t teamed together in a while. Kamino accepted the challenge for 22nd October and said Aijin Tag won’t lose to a hastily made team.

At the start of the show FUMA and Gouma Ryu started talking about their careers outside of wrestling (hunter and lawyer respectively) and started getting along even though they were supposed to be opponents later. KUBITO then called Ryu a part-time wrestler which Ryu found insulting. FUMA & Ryu both wouldn’t stand for it so they decided to change their 6-Man Tag Match into a Handicap match. The two of them were now teaming up against the other four wrestlers! During the match Ryu kept getting ganged up on by his opponents and FUMA got tired of saving him. FUMA walked out of the match leaving Ryu to fight by himself. Through sheer luck Ryu fought off his opponents and climbed the top rope to hit a big finish on Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi. FUMA then reappeared at the entrance armed with his hunting rifle and he shot Ryu. Ryu ended up falling on top of Hiroshi anyway and scored the pinfall.

7. Miu Watanabe & Suzume Vs Yuki Aino & Pom Harajuku

It’s been so long since TJPW had a tag team of sisters. Kira Summer is bringing over her sister Miki Fortune to team up together. Fortune’s a bit of a wild one so anyone expecting her to act just like Summer will be in for a surprise.

DDT “DDT PRO WRESTLING IN IKEBUKURO FULL MOON FESTIVAL 2024”, 19/10/2024

3. Special Tag Match: Akito & Pokotan Vs Danshoku Dieno & Yoshihiko

5. KO-D 10-Man Tag Team Titles: Chris Brookes, Masahiro Takanashi, Takayuki Ueki, Takeshi Masada & Mecha Mummy Vs Keigo Nakamura, To-y, Yuya Koroku, Yuki Ishida & Kazuma Sumi

A team of five from DDT’s new generation are going to challenge for the KO-D 10-Man Tag Team Titles. SCHADENFREUDE have Takayuki Ueki subbing in for Antonio Honda but he was part of the team when they originally won the belts anyway. So it may as well be the champions entering the match at full force.

MIKAMI makes another DDT appearance this year.

One day before the DDT Extreme Title is defended, Akito and Danshoku Dieno are facing off in a wacky tag match with Pokotan and Yoshihiko also involved. The stipulation for the title match hasn’t been chosen yet but it would be leaving it very late if this match is meant to set it up.

5. DDT Extreme Title: Akito (c) Vs Danshoku Dieno
6. KO-D Openweight Title: Shinya Aoki (c) Vs HARASHIMA

I bet it will have changed by the time this show happens but the two remaining Right To Challenge Shields are both currently being held by Soma Takao.

2. The Greatest Wrestling Match Of CHARISMANIA: Daisuke Sasaki & Yuko Miyamoto Vs Dick Togo & Minoru Fujita

The two of them along with Sasaki were part of the school’s first graduating class.

Oishi’s Last Day In DDT, Satomura In TJPW One More Time, Fujia Vs Takanashi Rematch

September 25, 2024

TOKYO JOSHI PRO “TJPW LIVE TOUR 2024 AUTUMN”, 28/09/2024
Shin-Kiba 1st RING

1. Haru Kazashiro Vs Chika Nanase
2. Kaya Toribami Vs Wakana Uehara
3. Mizuki & Uta Takami Vs Mahiro Kiryu & Toga
4. Yuki Kamifuku Vs Kira Summer
5. Rika Tatsumi, Yuki Aino & Shino Suzuki Vs Suzume, Arisu Endo & Moka Miyamoto
6. Miu Watanabe, Miyu Yamashita & Maki Itoh Vs Max The Impaler, Shoko Nakajima & HIMAWARI

A few people are missing from the show for different reasons. Both Raku and Pom Harajuku are missing the show because they will be wrestling in Thailand for SETUP that same day. Yoshiko Hasegawa won’t be there because of a scheduling conflict. Runa Okubo is out of action with an injury she suffered during her match at “WRESTLE PRINCESS V”.

DDT “DRAMATIC INFINITY 2024 ~ 3 HOUR SPECIAL~”, 29/09/2024
Tokyo Korakuen Hall

1. Special Tag Match: Shinya Aoki & HARASHIMA Vs Jun Akiyama & Keigo Nakamura
2. Tetsuya Endo, Soma Takao & Yuya Koroku Vs Toru Owashi, Kazuki Hirata & Yuki Ishida

6. DDT Universal Title: Yuki Iino (c) Vs Yukio Naya
7. Special 6-Man Tag Match: Yuki Ueno, MAO & Kaisei Takeshi Vs Chris Brookes, Takeshi Masada & Masahiro Takanashi

To-y and Yuki Ishida swap places in Match #2 and Match #3 for some reason.

DDT “GOD BLESS DDT 2024 TOUR IN SHINJUKU”, 03/10/2024
Shinjuku FACE

1. Jun Akiyama, Soma Takao & Kazuma Sumi Vs Toru Owashi, Masahiro Takanashi & Ilusion
2. Tetsuya Endo & Yuki Iino Vs Keigo Nakamura & To-y
3. KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles: Daisuke Sasaki, KANON & MJ Paul (c) Vs Chris Brookes, Antonio Honda & Takeshi Masada
4. KO-D Tag Team Titles – Makoto Oishi’s Last DDT Match: MAO & Shunma Katsumata (c) Vs Makoto Oishi & Danshoku Dieno

On the day that Makoto Oishi’s contract ends with DDT he gets to challenge for the KO-D Tag Team Titles with Danshoku Dieno. The two of them have never held the titles together and don’t even know what will happen next if they beat ShunMao. It won’t be the last time we will ever see Oishi in DDT but whenever he does show up again it will be as a freelancer. The match means a lot to MAO & Shunma Katsumata too because Oishi has been a mentor to them for their entire careers.

Ilusion has gotten SCHADENFREUDE International a shot at the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles but he isn’t allowed to be on the challenger team. DAMNATION T.A don’t want to defend the titles against him but have no problem putting the belts on the line against the rest of SCHADENFREUDE.

Out of all the possible DDT Universal Title challengers stepping forward, To-y is one of the more unlikely to beat Yuki Iino. But he is looking for ways to get a title shot. He couldn’t go through with cashing in his Right To Challenge Shield because Iino physically stopped him at every opportunity. Now To-y no longer has the Shield but is taking the chance of facing Iino directly in a tag match. This is all if Iino is still the champion after his defence with Yukio Naya of course.

TOKYO JOSHI PRO “ALL RISE ’24”, 06/10/2024
Tokyo Korakuen Hall

1. Wakana Uehara & Haru Kazahiro Vs Toga & Uta Takami
2. Yuki Aino, Raku & Pom Harajuku Vs Kakeru Sekiguchi, Kira Summer & Chika Nanase
3. Suzume & Yoshiko Hasegawa Vs Moka Miyamoto & Kaya Toribami
4. Mizuki & Mahiro Kiryu Vs Andreza Giant Panda & Shino Suzuki
5. Maki Itoh & Rika Tatsumi Vs Yuna Manase & HIMAWARI
6. Ryo Mizunami Vs Arisu Endo
7. Queen Of Asia Title & VPW Women’s Title: Yuki Kamifuku (c/c) Vs Xia Zhao
8. Miu Watanabe & Miyu Yamashita Vs Meiko Satomura & Shoko Nakajima

When news came out about Meiko Satomura’s plan to retire from pro wrestling next year, Miyu Yamashita immediately went to Tetsuya Koda asking him to bring Satomura back to Tokyo Joshi Pro for one more match. Yamashita never got along with Satomura in their interactions together back in 2017 because Satomura wasn’t impressed with her as a wrestler. So now here we are seven years later and this might be Yamashita’s final chance to measure herself up against the legend. Miu Watanabe and Shoko Nakajima are also getting in on the action to get their one and only match with Satomura.

Xia Zhao has a pinfall victory over Yuki Kamifuku so she next wants to take the Asian Double Crown from her. Yuki Kamifuku is willing to put both the Queen Of Asia Title & VPW Women’s Title because gambling big in this situation works out for her no matter the result. She either rips off the bandage by losing both belts at the same time or looks cool for defending two championships at once.

Both Ryo Mizunami and Arisu Endo are coming off of title losses at “WRESTLE PRINCESS V”. Where they go from here might depend on the result of this match.

The idea of putting Maki Itoh & Rika Tatsumi together as a team sounds unhinged. Yuna Manase can deal with it but HIMAWARI might find herself in trouble should she end up in a 2-on-1 situation.

It will be up to Shino Suzuki to guide Andreza Giant Panda safely down to the ring. Mizuki is going to have so much fun trying to Double Stomp him that Mahiro Kiryu will have to apologise on her behalf!

DDT “GOD BLESS DDT 2024 TOUR IN ASAKUSA”, 09/10/2024
Tokyo Asakusa Hanayashi Theater

1. Tokyo Joshi Pro Offer Match: Moka Miyamoto Vs Haru Kazashiro
2. Special Tag Match: HARASHIMA & Keigo Nakamura Vs Ryota Nakatsu & Yuki Ishida
3. Special 6-Man Tag Match: Jun Akiyama, Danshoku Dieno & Yoshihiko Vs Shunma Katsumata, Soma Takao & Kazuki Hirata
4. The 37KAMIINA Vs BURNING!: Yuki Ueno, MAO & To-y Vs Tetsuya Endo, Yuki Iino & Yuya Koroku

A few guests are coming in for DDT’s return to Asakusa. Ryota Nakatsu is coming over and wants to be in the ring with HARASHIMA. Also TJPW will be presenting a match between Moka Miyamoto and Haru Kazashiro.

BASARA “BASARA 258 ~SOUEN~”, 11/10/2024
Shin-Kiba 1st RING

1. Union MAX Title: Minoru Fujita (c) Vs Masahiro Takanashi

The unexpected next challenger for the Union MAX Title is Masahiro Takanashi! He held the title once before during 2019 and 2020. His final successful defence was even against the current champion Minoru Fujita. That result is something Fujita wants to avenge so he is ready to face Takanashi in a rematch over four years in the making.

BASARA “BASARA 257 ~HIEN~” Results

September 24, 2024

BASARA “BASARA 257 ~HIEN~”, 24/09/2024
Shin-Kiba 1st RING
??? Fans

1. Kota Sekifuda defeated KUBITO with a Crossface Lock Reversal (11:46).
2. Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi & Tsutomu Oosugi defeated Banana Senga & Yuki Kanzaki when Oosugi pinned Senga with the Tsuki no Ishi (7:10).
3. Yumehito Imanari & Mizuki Watase defeated Ryota Nakatsu & Lil’ Kraken when Imanari pinned Kraken with the Lariat (15:06).
4. Guts Ishijima, Hideyoshi Kamitani & Kuma Arashi defeated Takumi Tsukamoto, SAGAT & Minoru Fujita when Ishijima pinned SAGAT with the Ghostbuster (13:48).
5. UWA World Tag Team Titles: Takato Nakano & Masato Kamino (c) defeated Isami Kodaka & Ryuichi Sekine when Kamino pinned Sekine with the Lariat (15:33).
*V1 for Aijin Tag.

The main event was held under No Tag Rules. Aijin Tag defeated Sento Minzoku to retain the UWA World Tag Team Titles. The win tasted sweet for Masato Kamino because he pinned Ryuichi Sekine for the victory. Takato Nakani also spoke highly of Sekine and Isami Kodaka joked about how everything today is about Sekine. Aijin Tag would like to continue defending the UWA Tag Titles against more wrestlers from different promotions. Nakano wants to wreck havoc across the indies but Kamino would rather go do it in New Japan.

Masahiro Takanashi suddenly made his entrance at the end of the show while the others were still in the ring. He introduced himself as the 13th Union MAX Champion and was here to settle something that happened in BASARA four years ago. Minoru Fujita knew what he was talking about. He challenged Takanashi for the MAX Title in February 2020 and lost to him. But it was from that point on when everything clicked for Fujita. Since then he has won several championships, was crowned as the MVP of the Japanese indies, fell so gravely ill that he almost died, made a miraculous recovery and came back to wrestling to win more championships. There is one achievement left for him and that is to avenge his loss against Takanashi! Fujita and Takanashi will fight for the MAX Title on 11th October.

The BASARA Vs Ganbare☆Pro match got heated. First Yumehito Imanari attacked Ryota Nakatsu before the bell. Nakatsu responded by chasing after him with his baseball bat. Nakatsu also got intense with Mizuki Watase whenever they were facing off. The finish was Imanari pinning Lil’ Kraken with a Lariat but after the end Kraken got back up and attacked Imanari until they were kept apart.

Kota Sekifuda was a last minute replacement for Takeru Inoue in the opening match. Inoue had a fever and was unable to wrestle.

BASARA “BASARA 254 ~ICHIMIDOUSHIN~” Results

August 4, 2024

BASARA “BASARA 254 ~ICHIMIDOUSHIN~”, 04/08/2024
Tokyo Korakuen Hall
??? Fans – Unannounced

1. Takeru Inoue Debut Match: Isami Kodaka defeated Takeru Inoue with a Brainbuster (9:10).
2. 3 Way Tag Match: Takato Nakano & Masato Kamino defeated Daichi Kazato & Lil’ Kraken and Tsutomu Oosugi & Banana Senga when Kamino pinned Kraken with the Lariat (9:56).
3. Ryuichi Sekine, Takumi Tsukamoto & Ryota Nakatsu defeated FUMA, Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi & SAGAT when Sekine submitted SAGAT with the Let’s Combine (9:56).
4. Special Single Match: Isami Kodaka defeated Yuki Ishikawa with a Vertical Drop Brainbuster (10:10).
5. Iron Fist Tag Team Titles: Fuminori Abe & Takuya Nomura (c) defeated KUBITO & Daisuke Sasaki when Abe submitted KUBITO with a Sleeper Hold (16:20).
*V1 for Astronauts.
6. Union MAX Title: Minoru Fujita (c) defeated Yasu Urano with the BONEYARD (20:53).
*V6 for Minoru Fujita.

Minoru Fujita has now tied the record amount of Union MAX Title defences with six wins in this reign. He defeated Yasu Urano by dropping him with the Tombstone Piledriver and then making him submit to the Reverse Viper Hold, or BONEYARD as he likes to call it. With no clear challengers on the horizon Fujita called for a reset and will accept the challenge of anyone who comes forward. He told the fans how much he appreiciates the view because two years ago he came close to dying. He sees there is potential for growth in BASARA and he wants everyone in the promotion to reach that potential together.

Two proteges of Dick Togo challenged Astronauts for the Iron Fist Tag Team Titles but could not find a way to take the belts away from them. Takuya Nomura got rid of Daisuke Sasaki with a German Suplex and Fuminori Abe submitted KUBITO with a Sleeper Hold. After the match Abe and Sasaki had to be separated from each other. Then Ryuichi Sekine & Ryota Nakatsu entered the ring and declared themselves the next challengers for the tag titles. It’s a Cavalry reunion and the match will happen on 27th August!

It was a busy day for Isami Kodaka because he wrestled twice on the show. The match he had late in the card was against Yuki Ishikawa as part of Ishikawa’s road to retirement. Kodaka came out on top and Ishikawa praised him for having more than enough energy to wrestle twice. Ishikawa said he became the wrestler he is today thanks to Kodaka. He enjoyed wrestling him today and it makes him want to enjoy his remaining matches until his retirement on 12th August.

Kodaka’s other match on the show was against the debuting rookie Takeru Inoue. The newcomer fell to a Brainbuster but Kodaka was pleased with his performance. Since Inoue is BASARA’s first trained wrestler in over four years, Kodaka says he wants to nurture him carefully. Inoue said he joined BASARA because he admires Kodaka and his goal is to surpass him as the most unique wrestler. He also revealed his sports history is six years of volleyball and he spent a year training at the HEAT UP dojo.

I Chose The Wrong Time To Go On Holiday

July 16, 2024

Heads up, I have a really busy travel week this week. Unfortunately that means I don’t have the time to write any previews for “SUMMER SUN PRINCESS ’24” or “WRESTLE PETER PAN 2024”. I will try my best to post match results, show reports and any other news whenever I can but it may come a few days late before I’m caught up on anything.

DDT “AFTER PETER PAN 2024 IN SHINJUKU”, 26/07/2024
Shinjuku FACE

1. Special Single Match: Kazuki Hirata Vs Yuni
2. Special Single Match: HARASHIMA Vs Keigo Nakamura
3. Special Single Match: Yuki Iino Vs MJ Paul

No real clues in the lineup for what direction DDT will go next after Sumo Hall.

Ryuichi “Fire” Kawakami will be on the show.

TOKYO JOSHI PRO “GARAFES DASH!! ~SCORCHING SUMMER SPLASH~”, 27/07/2024
Tokyo Ueno Park Outdoor Stage

1. Raku Vs Uta Takami
2. Miu Watanabe & Suzume Vs Pom Harajuku & Shino Suzuki

The next Tokyo Joshi Pro appearance at the Garafes is later this month. The Up Up Girls (Pro Wrestling) also recently announced a new trainee called Kana. She was born in Kanagawa on 5th August, 2005 and is 156cm tall. Her goal is to become both a regular pro wrestler and idol.

BASARA “BASARA 254 ~ICHIMIDOUSHIN~”, 04/08/2024
Tokyo Korakuen Hall

1. Takeru Inoue Debut Match: Takeru Inoue Vs X
2. Special Single Match: Isami Kodaka Vs Yuki Ishikawa
3. Union MAX Title: Minoru Fujita (c) Vs Yasu Urano

All of Minoru Fujita’s defences of the Union MAX Title so far have been against BASARA wrestlers. Yasu Urano is going to be his first outsider opponent. For Fujita it may be the first time he feels like BASARA’s leader as their champion.

GANBARE☆PRO “UNCUT DIAMONDS 2024”, 16/08/2024
Shin-Kiba 1st RING

1. Spirit Of Ganbare World Tag Team Titles: Shigehiro Irie & Mizuki Watase (c) Vs Ken Ohka & Shuji Ishikawa
2. Spirit Of Ganbare World Openweight Title: Keisuke Ishii (c) Vs Takuya Wada

In just over a year and a half Takuya Wada has accomplished plenty in Ganbare☆Pro. He already held a championship here and now has a chance to take the Spirit Of Ganbare World Title from Keisuke Ishii.

Ken Ohka has called upon Shuji Ishikawa to challenge Shigehiro Irie & Mizuki Watase for the Spirit Of Ganbare Tag Team Titles. Ohka is on a mission to show everyone that wrestlers born in the 1970s are still up to snuff.
