BASARA “BASARA 252 ~TAKAGARI 26~” Results

July 15, 2024

BASARA “BASARA 252 ~TAKAGARI 26~”, 15/07/2024
Tokyo Takashimadaira Kumin Center
??? Fans – Unannounced

1. Isami Kodaka & Lil’ Kraken defeated Daichi Kazato & Tsutomu Oosugi when Kodaka pinned Kazato with the Ikki Tousen (11:30).
2. SAGAT & Judo Master Vs Banana Senga & Karate Master ended in a Double Countout (8:36).
3. FUMA defeated Gaia Hox with an Arm Bar (11:49).
4. KUBITO, Yasu Urano & Masahiro Takanashi defeated Ryota Nakatsu, Takato Nakano & Masato Kamino when KUBITO submitted Nakatsu with the Crossover Face Lock (13:26).
5. Union MAX Title: Minoru Fujita (c) defeated Takumi Tsukamoto with the Modified Samson Clutch (15:59).
*V5 for Minoru Fujita.

A Samson Clutch from out of nowhere resulted in Minoru Fujita retaining the Union MAX Title against Takumi Tsukamoto. Afterwards Tsukamoto wanted to speak on the microphone but didn’t have much to say so Yasu Urano took it from him. Urano told Fujita they have known each other for so long. Who is the next challenger going to be? It’s Urano! The fans called for the match to happen right away but Urano noticed the referees were already preparing to go home. Isami Kodaka stepped in and said the title match should happen somewhere important so it will take place at Korakuen Hall on 4th August! Fujita said ever since he won the title he hasn’t felt like he is the leader of BASARA. He does not know what he needs to do to satisfy that feeling but he will not give up on himself for as long as he lives.

There was a reason why KUBITO used the Crossface Lock to win his match. He wants to invite his classmate Daisuke Sasaki over to BASARA for its next Korakuen show. KUBITO has an idea for the two of them to team up and challenge Astronauts for the Iron Fist Tag Team Titles. He has not asked BASARA for permission to do this so we will have to wait and see if it will happen.

FUMA and Gaia Hox praised each other and shook hands after their match.

The growing rivalry between Judo Master and Karate Master is now dragging SAGAT and Banana Senga into the mix. Senga has 9 years of karate experience so he fits in fine. SAGAT though knows neither martial art. Instead he is a Taekwondo guy. The match turned into an brawl out of the ring where some wrestlers also acted like cats as well as martial artists. It lasted long enough for everyone to get counted out.

BASARA “BASARA 251 ~UTAGE~” Results

June 21, 2024

BASARA “BASARA 251 ~UTAGE~”, 21/06/2024
Shin-Kiba 1st RING
??? Fans – Unannounced

1. Takato Nakano & Masato Kamino defeated Lil’ Kraken & Leo Isaka when Nakano pinned Isaka with the Kenkatabami (8:53).
2. FUMA, KUBITO & Daichi Kazato defeated SAGAT, Gouma Ryu & Antonio Honda by Referee Stoppage when Kazato submitted Ryu with the Trigger Point (9:01).
3. Karate Master & Minoru Fujita defeated Takumi Tsukamoto & Judo Master when Karate Master pinned Master with the Let’s Seikentsu Mid-level Thrust (8:05).
4. Yasu Urano defeated Isami Kodaka with the Modern Times (13:34).
5. Iron Fist Tag Team Titles: Fuminori Abe & Takuya Nomura defeated Ryota Nakatsu & Kazusada Higuchi (c) when Abe submitted Nakatsu with the Arm Hold Manjigatame (15:33).
*Harimao fails in V5. Astronauts becomes the 12th Iron Fist Tag Team Champions!

That’s all she wrote for Harimao’s run as the Iron Fist Tag Team Champions. The titles now belong to Astronauts! It happened when Fuminori Abe trapped Ryota Nakatsu in the Manjigatame while Takuya Nomura cut off Kazusada Higuchi by putting him in a similar submission hold. Abe told Nomura after the match they will go on a fierce road of title defences that only they can do. Not only are they going to liven up BASARA but the rest of the wrestling world too! They are even thinking about defending the belts overseas.

In a manner similar to Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi’s recent disappearances, Ryuichi Sekine wasn’t anywhere to be found for his match today (apparently he took a nap somewhere backstage and overslept). Luckily a replacement was found in a newcomer called Karate Master. Just like Judo Master his martial arts talents are cancelled out by his lack of pro wrestling knowledge. However he did know how to pin his opponent and did so after hitting Master with a Karate style Diving Fist Drop. After the match Minoru Fujita and Takumi Tsukamoto continued to fight each other. Fujita blamed it on the karate gi he wore for the match. He claims it made him more fired up than usual so he will never wear it again.

Last month SAGAT and Gouma Ryu had a confrontation that included Ryu objecting to SAGAT making Superman references without permission to use the trademark. That must have all been solved this month because SAGAT wore his Superman inspired gear, Antonio Honda was straight up wearing a full Superman costume and Ryu revealed during the match he was also wearing a Superman costume beneath his suit. Unfortunately their superpowers werent’ strong enough and Daichi Kazato rendered Ryu unconscious by grabbing the trigger points in his shoulders.

Miyu Yamashita is now back in Japan after finishing up the last of her current American dates over the weekend. Her first match back in Tokyo Joshi Pro is reviving 121000000 with Maki Itoh.

Match #4 is important because it is taking place on the same day as Runa Okubo’s 16th birthday! Her team with Haru Kazashiro is currently being called HaruRuna while Shino Suzuku & Uta Takami have been shortened down to ShinoUta.

Both Vert Vixen and LA Taylor have come out of Korakuen Hall without any championships. They can at least try to get some commiseration wins here for their troubles.

As part of Sanshiro Takagi’s final matches, he convinced CIMA to be in the same ring as Danshoku Dieno & Kazuki Hirata again.

A return to Osaka means Tsutenkakka gets to be on DDT shows again. He gets a big match against HARASHIMA to see what he is made of. I mean other than steel because he is already a tower in the body of a pro wrestler.

DDT “WHAT ARE YOU DOING 2024 TOUR IN HAMAMATSU”, 23/06/2024

TOKYO JOSHI PRO “SUMMER SUN PRINCESS ’24”, 20/07/2024
Tokyo Korakuen Hall

1. Special Single Match: Aja Kong Vs Shoko Nakajima
2. Princess Of Princess Title: Miu Watanabe (c) Vs Rika Tatsumi

TJPW’s big match for the summer is Daydream tearing each other apart for the Princess Of Princess Title! A match like this was always on the horizon and Rika Tatsumi thinks the time is now for it to happen. She wants to be the Princess Champion again even if it means having to take the belt from Miu Watanabe. That scenario happened before last year with the International Princess Title. Watanabe does not want history to repeat itself.

There’s been a couple of times already this year when Shoko Nakajima has been in the ring with Aja Kong. Now they get to fight each other one on one! It is a match both are looking forward too. Nakajima wants to have a wrestling career as long and illustrious as Kong’s, maybe even turn into the modern day equivalent of her. Kong meanwhile is isolating herself in the mountains in order to train for this match. That is how much she sees Nakajima as a threat to her.

DDT “WRESTLE PETER PAN 2024”, 21/07/2024
Tokyo Ryogoku Kokugikan

1. Special Single Match: KONOSUKE TAKESHITA Vs Masato Tanaka
2. Dramatic Dream Match: El Desperado Vs Chris Brookes
3. KO-D Tag Team Titles: Tetsuya Endo & Yuki Iino (c) Vs Go Shiozaki & Atsushi Kotoge
4. KO-D Openweight Title: Yuki Ueno (c) Vs MAO

Earlier today Chris Brookes was one of several DDT wrestlers who were part of El Desperado’s invitational show (I’ll write a post about the show this evening). Brookes got on the microphone after his match to talk to Desperado who was at the commentary booth. He said they’ve known each other for years now but have never been in a match together. So he challenged him to a match at DDT’s Sumo Hall show next month!

6. Special Tag Match: Yuki Ueno & Fuminori Abe Vs HARASHIMA & Keigo Nakamura

One of the most watched videos on DDT’s Youtube channel is a match between Danshoku Dieno and Makoto Oishi from five years ago. The two have decided to have a rematch of that fateful battle!

BASARA “BASARA 251 ~UTAGE~”, 21/06/2024
Shin-Kiba 1st RING

1. Iron Fist Tag Team Titles: Ryota Nakatsu & Kazusada Higuchi (c) Vs Fuminori Abe & Takuya Nomura

Just when it looked like Harimao have run out of opponents for their Iron Fist Tag Team Titles reign, along comes Astronauts to challenge them!

BASARA “BASARA 252 ~TAKAGARI 26~”, 15/07/2024
Tokyo Takashimadaira Kumin Center

1. Union MAX Title: Minoru Fujita (c) Vs Takumi Tsukamoto

The next Union MAX Title match will be held in Takashimadaira Kumin Center for the first time. The venue has been host to BASARA’s B-shows over the last five years with a more relaxed and (more importantly) sober atmosphere compared to the events held in Shin-Kiba 1st RING. It adds another element to Minoru Fujita’s title reign because he has made it his mission to have emotional matches that can only be found in BASARA. Takumi Tsukamoto shares the same vision for his upcoming title challenge here.

GANBARE☆PRO “DISASTER ARTIST 2024”, 15/07/2024
Tokyo Takashimadaira Kumin Center

1. Moeka Haruhi Return Match: Shuichiro Katsumura & YuuRI Vs Yusaku Ito & Moeka Haruhi
2. Fire Festival – A Block: Yumehito Imanari Vs Satsuki Nagao
3. Spirit Of Ganbare World Openweight Title: Keisuke Ishii (c) Vs Hong Kong International Police Man

One of the most unexpected people you can think of will be the next Spirit Of Ganbare Title challenger coming up in July. Hong Kong International Police Man and his co-workers has always shown up at Ganbare☆Pro events whenever a particular wrestler booked for the show goes missing. In fact he has never interacted with Keisuke Ishii before so this is a brand new match-up for both of them.

This year Yumehito Imanari will be entering the annual Fire Festival tournament held by ZERO1. As part of the deal one of his block matches will be taking place in a GanPro show. Satsuki Nagao will be his opponent for that match.

What was already a touching story surrounding Moeka Haruhi’s return match is now even more so because of who she is teaming with. Haruhi recently donated one of her kidneys while years ago Yusaku Ito was the recipient of a kidney transplant.

3. Yumehito Imanari & Tatsuya Hanami defeated Keisuke Ishii & Tsuyoshi Okada when Imanari pinned Okada with the Power Bomb (9:03).
4. Spirit Of Ganbare World Openweight Title Next Challenger Time Staggered Battle Royal: Hong Kong International Police Man defeated Ken Ohka with the Project A (16:49).
Order Of Elimination: Tyson Maeguchi, Daisuke®️, Baliyan Akki, Minoru Fujita, Yuna Manase, Gabai Ji-chan and Ken Ohka.
5. Spirit Of Ganbare World Tag Team Titles: Shigehiro Irie & Mizuki Watase defeated Shuichiro Katsumura & Takuya Wada (c) when Watase pinned Katsumura with the Running Elbow Butt (24:11).
*GROUND ABSOLUTE fails in V7. Shigehiro Irie & Mizuki Watase become the 3rd Spirit Of Ganbare World Tag Team Champions!

The dominant reign of GROUND ABSOLUTE is over! After six successful defences of the Spirit Of Ganbare Tag Team Titles they have fallen to the former RENEGADES in their seventh defence. While Takuya Wada and Shigehiro Irie got into blows late in the match, it all came down to Mizuki Watase countering Shuichiro Katsumura’s Ninja Choke into a Brainbuster. Katsumura fired back with a Knee Strike but Watase hit him with Running Elbow Butts until he could pin the champion for the three count. Watase said he wanted to win the tag titles after watching GROUND ABSOLUTE beat Hentai Punch Drunkers for them at Ota Ward Gymnasium last July. Irie was the only partner he ever had in mind to team with because Irie has never abandoned him. He now wants to defend the titles ten times in a row. Irie said he had lost his confidence after failing to win back the wXw Unified World Title in Germany earlier this year so he put in a lot of effort today. He is happy to be a champion with somebody he trusts. Watase suggested they could do a full RENEGADES revival and bring back all of the other members.

The Battle Royal did in fact have more than the six wrestlers advertised taking part including Tyson Maeguchi and Minoru Fujita who both appealed on social media to be added to the match. Yuna Manase joined forces with Baliyan Akki for a little while because it was recently Akki’s birthday. Gabai Ji-chan took so long to walk down to the ring that Daisuke®️ made it in there before him despite being the next entrant after him. Choun-Shiryu went missing before the show and was replaced by Hong Kong International Police Man. The cop made it to the end of the match where he dodged Ken Ohka’s Spear, gave him the Chinese Gory Bomb and then pinned him with the Project A to become the No. 1 Contender for the Spirit Of Ganbare Title. After the match Keisuke Ishii said he has never interacted with Police Man until now and he’ll be honored to defend the title against him. However when he went to shake his hand, Police Man gave him a salute instead and left the ring.

On 27th July Ganbare☆Joshi will be co-hosting an all woman’s show with Triple Six as part of a tripleheader in Oji BASEMENT MONSTAR. One of the other shows on that day will be an all men’s show held that Ganbare☆Pro is holding by themselves. The first match announced is Ken Ohka Vs Keisuke Ishii Vs Shota Kawakami in a battle between wrestlers born in three different decades.

Moeka Haruhi announced she will be teaming with Yusaku Ito from Dove Pro for her return match on 15th July. The reason is because Haruhi recently donated her kidney while Ito himself is a recipient of a kidney transplant.

BASARA “BASARA 250 ~TAKAGARI 25~” Results

June 2, 2024

BASARA “BASARA 250 ~TAKAGARI 25~”, 02/06/2024
Tokyo Takashimadaira Kumin Center
??? Fans – Unannounced

1. Daichi Kazato defeated Takato Nakano with a Rocket Punch (10:09).
2. FUMA & KUBITO defeated Lil’ Kraken & Takahiro Katori when KUBITO pinned Kraken with the Death Metal Roll (13:11).
3. Isami Kodaka & Judo Master Vs Tsutomu Oosugi & Banana Senga ended in a Double Countout (13:22).
4. Ryota Nakatsu defeated Masato Kamino with a Cradle (14:43).
5. Takumi Tsukamoto, SAGAT & Fuminori Abe defeated Minoru Fujita, Yasu Urano & Ryuichi Sekine when Tsukamoto pinned Sekine with the Running Zudon (17:32).

After the main event Takumi Tsukamoto challenged Minoru Fujita for the Union MAX Title at the next Takashimadaira Kumin Center show on 15th July. Fujita said the atmosphere for this title match will be different because the audience in Takashimadaira are more calm and sober than the crowd who gets to drink a lot at BASARA shows held in Shin-Kiba 1st RING. Backstage Tsukamoto said he wants to do a match that only BASARA can do, one that will dig deep into their hearts.

Yesterday it was announced that Astronauts will be challenging Harimao for the Iron Fist Tag Team Titles on 21st June. Fuminori Abe was on the winning side in the main event today. He also walked past Fujita during Fujita’s post match comments backstage.

Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi appeared with the other members of Asian Kung Fu Revolution at the start of the show to announce he has now become a first class Love Intructor. However seconds before his match took place he had to pull out when he suddenly came down with another bout of love sickness. Judo Master replaced him, making his first public appearance since losing the Iron Fist Tag Titles match with Tsukamoto a week ago. His tag match ended in a double countout when everyone fought up to the entrance stage. FUMA appeared in the ring armed with a rifle sensing wildlife was nearby and he shot down all of the wrestlers on the stage. Master tried to run back to the ring but FUMA shot him last and the referee finished the 20 count.

BASARA “BASARA 249 ~UTAGE~” Results

May 28, 2024

BASARA “BASARA 249 ~UTAGE~”, 28/05/2024
Shin-Kiba 1st RING
??? Fans – Unannounced

1. Ryuichi Sekine, Fuminori Abe & Gaia Hox defeated FUMA, KUBITO & Yasu Urano when Hox pinned FUMA with the Butterfly Effect (13:11).
2. SAGAT defeated Gouma Ryu with the Superman Splash (8:41).
3. Lil’ Kraken, Tsutomu Oosugi & Banana Senga defeated Isami Kodaka, Takato Nakano & Masato Kamino when Kraken pinned Nakano with the High Angle Jumping Knee Butt (9:43).
4. Iron Fist Tag Team Titles: Ryota Nakatsu & Kazusada Higuchi (c) defeated Takumi Tsukamoto & Judo Master when Nakatsu pinned Master with the V Slider (16:47).
*V4 for Harimao.
5. Union MAX Title: Minoru Fujita (c) defeated Daichi Kazato with a Body Press after Kazato missed the Firebird Splash (20:33).
*V4 for Minoru Fujita.

So close but yet so far. Daichi Kazato kicked out of the SAYONARA Tombstone twice and got Minoru Fujita in position for a big high flying move to finish him off. Kazato went for the Firebird Special but Fujita rolled out of the way and Kazato crashed onto the mat. The miss cost him everything because Fujita pinned him afterwards to remain as the Union MAX Champion. After the match Fujita told Kazato he knows nothing about him but was happy to share a little bit of his heart with him today. Kazato thanked the fans for supporting him and apologised to them for losing. When he left the ring, Fujita waited to see if anyone would come out to challenge him. Nobody did so he closed out the show by himself. Backstage Fujita told reporters that good matches happen all the time but they will be forgotten about after a month or even a week. What he sets out to do is have a match that will leave a deep mark in everyone’s hearts like a scar. That is what makes a great match to him.

Is there any team out there that can beat Harimao? That is the question now being asked by the Iron Fist Tag Team Champions after their latest successful title defence. Takumi Tsukamoto & Judo Master had a bumpy road leading into the title match but went into the match as a well oiled team. Unfortunately it wasn’t enough even with Master taking off his gi to take the match up a level against Ryota Nakatsu while Tsukamoto took out Kazasada Higuchi with a Plancha. Harimao won in the end and praised the challengers for giving them a good fight.

Today was Takato Nakano’s first match back from his minor shoulder injury. He lost his tag match though. Lil’ Kraken got the pin on him with the Juping Knee Butt. Nakano wanted to keep fighting Kraken after the match but Masato Kamino stepped in to stop him.

The lawyer Gouma Ryu kept accusing SAGAT of copyright infringement during their match. Everytime SAGAT did something that allegedly copied something else, Ryu would threaten him with a 10,000 yen fine or jail time if he couldn’t afford it. SAGAT wanted to do a Running Cannonball into the corner? Ryu would fine him because he is copying Shigehiro Irie. He wanted to do a Superman Splash? That was infringing American copyrights. It led to SAGAT constantly searching for money outside the ring so he could pay the fines. He then turned the tables after Ryu gave him the Running Neckbreaker and shouted his catchphrase because Ryu is just copying Ryuma Go! From that point on SAGAT ignored the warnings and beat Ryu with the Superman Splash.

DDT “WHAT ARE YOU DOING 2024 TOUR IN SHINJUKU”, 05/06/2024
Shinjuku FACE

1. Kazusada Higuchi & Yuya Koroku Vs Yukio Naya & Keigo Nakamura
2. Tetsuya Endo & Yuki Iino Vs Jun Akiyama & Tomomitsu Matsunaga
3. Special Tag Match: MAO & Shunma Katsumata Vs Danshoku Dieno & Kazuki Hirata
4. Daisuke Kiso Referee 14th Anniversary Match ~ Special Tag Match: Keisuke Ishii & Shigehiro Irie Vs To-y & Yuni

6. KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles: Daisuke Sasaki, KANON & MJ Paul (c) Vs HARASHIMA, Akito & Yasu Urano
7. KO-D Openweight Title: Yuki Ueno (c) Vs Sanshiro Takagi

There is currently a dispute going on over who is going to be the referee for the KO-D Openweight Title match. Hisaya Imabayashi is leaning towards having Yukinori Matsui as the official, which is normally the case. However Sanshiro Takagi thinks Matsui is too strict and wants somebody who will give him more leeway to do what he wants. He agrees the match will still be held under normal rules though. Yuki Ueno is willing as the champion to fight Takagi under his conditions. However he would prefer the match to have a strict referee so he wants Matsui to be the first choice.

DDT “WHAT ARE YOU DOING 2024 TOUR IN KYOTO”, 08/06/2024
Kyoto KBS Hall

1. Daisuke Sasaki & KANON Vs Toru Owashi & Ilusion

5. Special Single Match: Chris Brookes Vs Kazuki Hirata
6. The 37KAMIINA Vs D.O.A!: Yuki Ueno, Shunma Katsumata & To-y Vs Jun Akiyama, Danshoku Dieno & Makoto Oishi

If losing in the King Of DDT semi-final wasn’t enough to annoy Chris Brookes, he now has to relive last year’s D-Oh Grand Prix when he was the only wrestler in his block to lose against Kazuki Hirata. There is probably no better time for Hirata to go for the upset win in a non-tournament rematch.

Keep an eye out for Yuya Koroku from this point onwards. He was the one to pin Poison Sawada JULIE over the weekend after being outnumbered for the finishing stretch of the match. I’m not saying he’s going to beat MAO next but we might be getting the start of something with him.

TOKYO JOSHI PRO “TJPW PRISM ’24”, 09/06/2024

The full card was revealed yesterday and here it is. Aja Kong returns to team with Yuki Kamifuku again and this time Kira Summer gets to join in. RakuPom have been chosen to be the final opponents for Nao Kakuta & SAKI’s tag team. Either Chika Nanase or Uta Takami will earn their first singles win at the other person’s expense. The rest of the card is the usual veteran versus new generation type of matches.

Ehime Matsuyama City General Community Center Special Exhibition Hall

5. Special Tag Match: Tetsuya Endo & Imabari Taoru Mascaras Vs Chris Brookes & Kazuma Sumi
6. Special 6-Man Tag Match: Yuki Ueno, MAO & To-y Vs Yuki Iino, Kazusada Higuchi & Keigo Nakamura

Another person from Ehime Pro will be on the show but is not going to wrestled. Cutie Elly The Ehime will be in Sanshiro Takagi’s corner as his manager for Match #2 instead. She did the same at last year’s show in Matsuyama City.

DDT “DRAMATIC DREAM BATTLE”, 16/06/2024
TOKYO FM Hall

1. DDT Universal Title: MAO (c) Vs X

The Sumo Hall main event and KO-D Title shot is on the horizon but first MAO wants to defend his DDT Universal Title. His schedule prevents him from travelling overseas for the time being so he wants to defend the title against a wide range of wrestlers in Japan. He has begun searching for his first challenger and will choose one for a title match taking place at TOKYO FM Hall in a few weeks time.

Fuminori Abe will be on the show. That could be related to the title match or it might not.

DDT “WRESTLE PETER PAN 2024”, 21/07/2024
Tokyo Ryogoku Kokugikan

1. Special Single Match: KONOSUKE TAKESHITA Vs Masato Tanaka
2. KO-D Openweight Title: Yuki Ueno (c) Vs MAO

MAO is now guaranteed to be part of the Sumo Hall main event. It will be either Yuki Ueno or Sanshiro Takagi who will be against him as the defending KO-D Champion. Takagi said he would defend the belt against MAO in a Weapon Rumble if he is the champ.

Next time Konosuke Takeshita is in DDT he will face Masato Tanaka in a rematch from March 2020. Tanaka successfully defended the KO-D Title against Takeshita back then in what was the last KO-D Title match held in front of an audience before the global pandemic shut everything down. Did anyone notice that this year’s Fire Festival tournament is the first one without Tanaka taking part in it? I know ZERO1 is a zombie promotion now but how can you have a Fire Festival without Tanaka in it?

Minoru Suzuki and El Desperado will be on the show.
