3. Isami Kodaka Vs Shigehiro Irie
4. FUMA, Yusuke Kubo & SAGAT Vs Ryuichi Sekine, Minoru Fujita & Daiki Shimomura

GANBARE☆WRESTLING “STAR PLATINUM 2020”, 24/02/2020
Tokyo Seijo Hall

1. Ganpro World Tryout: Shin Suzuki Vs E10
2. Ganpro Specialty Special 3 Way Match ~HARUKAZE’s Close Call~: Shota Vs HARUKAZE Vs Kuishinbo Kamen
3. Ganpro & GanJo Special Mixed Tag Match: Shuichiro Tominaga & Moeka Haruhi Vs Shinichiro Tominaga & Asuka
4. Ganpro Vs Pro Wrestling BASARA Full Battle: Kouki Iwasaki & Washi Sakurai Vs Ryuichi Sekine & Tetsuo Usui
5. Ganpro Vs TTT Full Battle: Ken Ohka Vs Guts Ishijima
6. Independent World Jr. Heavyweight Title: Keisuke Ishii (c) Vs Yumehito Imanari

For fuck sake Guts Ishijima, stick to one affiliation please! He formed TTT (Total Triumph Team) in December and the promotion held its first show on 25th January. That explains why the Real GUTS Army angle got a bit wonky for the last couple of shows with the enemy team constantly changing its name and intentions.

With THE HALFEE idea now put on the shelf, Shuichiro Tominaga & Moeka Haruhi are going back to their regular ring names. However Shuhei Washida has taken to the name Washi Sakurai and wants to stick with it.

When Shota went on tour in Australia last year he wrestled for a promotion called Pro Wrestling Power in Cairns, Queensland. One of the locals who caught his attention goes by the name of E10. He is coming over to Japan later this month for a tryout in Ganbare☆Wrestling. E10 is 178cm tall, weighs 77kg and his signature moves are the Side Effect and the Frog Splash.

DDT “DRAMATIC SHINYURESE 2020”, 28/02/2020
Kanagawa Shinyuri Twenty One Hall

1. HARASHIMA & Makoto Oishi Vs Daisuke Sasaki & Hiroshi Yamato
2. Shinyuri Specialty! Two Major Singles Match: MAO Vs Kazuki Hirata
3. Shinyuri Specialty! Two Major Singles Match: Tetsuya Endo Vs Akito

Two big singles matches are set for Kanagawa. If it happened today then Akito’s Right To Challenge Gauntlet is on the line. MAO might be the KO-D Openweight Champion by the time the show takes place.

DDT “DDT DOES NOT KNOW GUNMA YET 2020”, 29/02/2020
Gunma Yamada Green Dome Maebashi Sub Event Area

1. ALL OUT Vs Eruption!: Konosuke Takeshita, Akito & Shunma Katsumata Vs Kazusada Higuchi, Yukio Sakaguchi & Saki Akai
2. The First Leap Year Of Reiwa! Inevitable Laughter Once Every 4 Years Ultra Super Mechanko Special 4 Way Match: Danshoku Dieno Vs Antonio Honda Vs Kazuki Hirata Vs Kazusada Higuchi
3. Akagi Mountain Is Also Tonight! Maebashi Specialty Special Single Match: Yutaka Yoshie Vs Yuki Iino

Big boys collide in Maebashi! Yutaka Yoshie made his first appearance in DDT last year in a comedy match involving a daruma and a kokeshi. This time it’s a more serious challenge in the form of Yuki Iino.

TOKYO JOSHI PRO “STAND PROUD”, 01/03/2020
Tokyo Ryogoku KFC Hall

1. International Princess Title: Thunder Rosa (c) Vs Shoko Nakajima

A message was sent to the Tokyo Joshi Pro office by Thunder Rosa earlier today. She nominates Shoko Nakajima as the No. 1 Contender for the International Princess Title. The two previously faced each other for the Princess Of Princess Title back in May last year. Nakajima won the match and Rosa wants revenge. She thinks she has the upper hand because this time she is the champion and Nakajima is the challenger.

DDT “DRAMATIC RED READY! 2020”, 01/03/2020
Osaka Hirano Community Hall

1. Chris Brookes Vs Maku Donaruto
2. Yuni Kid Wrestler Graduation Match: Yuni Vs Kazuki Hirata
3. KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles: Konosuke Takeshita, Shunma Katsumata & Yuki Iino (c) Vs Tetsuya Endo, T-Hawk & El Lindaman

There’s another Australian heading over to Japan soon, this one for DDT. Melbourne high flyer Royce Chambers will be in DDT from 1st to 20th March. His acrobatic moves and matches from Melbourne Championship Wrestling have been getting attention online and impressed the likes of Konosuke Takeshita. DDT is bringing in Chambers on Takeshita’s recommendation. Chambers is 180cm tall, weighs 86kg and has only been wrestling for two years.

Yuni closes out the childhood portion of his wrestling life by facing his career rival Kazuki Hirata.

Thanks for sticking with DDT, Brookes. Here’s Maku Donaruto for you.

MAO’s Thoughts On Tanaka, Hole Brothers Chasing Gold, STRONGHEARTS/DAMNATION Further Their Alliance

February 4, 2020

TOKYO JOSHI PRO “TOKYO JOSHI 2020 WINTER ~WONDERFUL HARMONY~”, 08/02/2020
Aichi NGK Sports Plaza 3rd Stadium

1. Miu Watanabe Vs Raku
2. Rika Tatsumi & Mahiro Kiryu Vs Yuki Kamifuku & Mina Shirakawa
3. Yuna Manase & Mirai Maiumi Vs Hyper Misao & Pom Harajuku
4. Shoko Nakajima, Nodoka Tenma & Haruna Neko Vs Mizuki, Suzume & Sena Shiori
5. Saki Akai Vs Hikari Noa
6. Miyu Yamashita Vs Natsumi Maki
7. Yuka Sakazaki & Maki Itoh Vs Lana Austin & Yuki Aino

Yuka Sakazaki will be wrestling on AEW Dynamite tomorrow night. She’ll be back in Japan this weekend to prepare for her another preview match against Lana Austin.

Raku begins her quest to win a match. Miu Watanabe won’t go light on her just because they are both Up Up Girls.

A bunch of the Tokyo Joshi Pro roster had cameos on the latest episode of the CBS cop drama S.W.A.T. I’m not making this up. Miyu Yamashita fights a detective inside Robot Restaurant while Shoko Nakajima tries to pull a gun on the guy from Better Off Ted. I swear I’m not making this up!

DDT “SUNDAY KASUKABIAN! 2020”, 09/02/2020
Saitama Kasukabe Hall

1. Kazusada Higuchi & Saki Akai Vs Hiroshi Yamato & Keigo Nakamura
2. 3 Way Match: Yukio Sakaguchi Vs Soma Takao Vs Kazuki Hirata

5. Yuki Ueno Vs Cody Hall
6. Charisma Vs Gongitsune!: Daisuke Sasaki Vs Antonio Honda
7. Harashimao Vs ALL OUT!: HARASHIMA & MAO Vs Konosuke Takeshita & Yuki Iino

Cody Hall gets his hands on one half of the KO-D Tag Team Champions. He should be careful though. If Yuki Ueno beats him then Ueno takes the black Right To Challenge Gauntlet from Hall.

TOKYO JOSHI PRO “TOKYO JOSHI 2020 WINTER ~WONDERFUL HARMONY~”, 11/02/2020
Kitazawa Town Hall

1. 3 Way Match: Yuna Manase Vs Hyper Misao Vs Nodoka Tenma

1. Cody Hall Vs Keigo Nakamura
2. Toru Owashi & Kazuki Hirata Vs Makoto Oishi & Yoshihiko
3. Soma Takao Vs Yuki Iino
4. DDT Megatonweight Single: Kazusada Higuchi Vs Yukio Naya
5. HARASHIMA & Naomi Yoshimura Vs Akito & Mizuki Watase
6. Burn, The Land Of Fire! Burn, DDT! Kumamoto Specialty Special 6-Man Tag Match ~ DDT Sauna Club Vs DAMNATION: Konosuke Takeshita, MAO & Yuki Ueno Vs Daisuke Sasaki, Tetsuya Endo & Mad Paulie

Two more singles matches are added to the show.

BASARA “BASARA 122 ~BANQUET~”, 18/02/2020
Shin-Kiba 1st RING

1. Yasu Urano & Daichi Kazato Vs Takato Nakano & Masato Kamino
2. Handicap Match: Takumi Tsukamoto Vs Gouma Ryu & Tetsuo Usui

4. Ryota Nakatsu, Naoki Tanizaki & Akiyori Takizawa Vs FUMA, Yusuke Kubo & SAGAT
5. IRON FIST TAG Titles: Tsutomu Oosugi & Banana Senga (c) Vs Isami Kodaka & Ryuichi Sekine
6. Union MAX Title: Masahiro Takanashi (c) Vs Minoru Fujita

Sento Minzoku have the chance to win both BASARA titles in two weeks time.

DDT “INTO THE FIGHT 2020”, 23/02/2020
Tokyo Korakuen Hall

1. 3 Way Match: Mad Paulie Vs Yukio Naya Vs Keigo Nakamura
2. Kazusada Higuchi, Yukio Sakaguchi & Saki Akai Vs Toru Owashi, Naomi Yoshimura & Mizuki Watase
3. All Human Beings Are Brothers Vs We Are Family 6-Man Tag Match: Dansoku Dieno, Cody Hall & Super Sasadango Machine Vs Shinya Aoki, Hiroshi Yamato & Kazuki Hirata
4. 3 Way Tag Match: HARASHIMA & Yuki Ueno Vs CIMA & Soma Takao Vs Masahiro Takanashi & Makoto Oishi
5. 8-Man Tag Team Elimination Match: Daisuke Sasaki, Tetsuya Endo, T-Hawk & El Lindman Vs Akito, Shunma Katsumata, Yuki Iino & Chihiro Hashimoto
6. DDT UNIVERSAL Title: Konosuke Takeshita Vs Chris Brookes
7. KO-D Openweight Title: Masato Tanaka (c) Vs MAO

MAO said he is honored to be competing for the KO-D Openweight Title less than 5 years into his pro wrestling career. Masato Tanaka has been wrestling since before MAO was born. MAO saw him for the first time on TV Asahi’s “World Pro Wrestling” television program back in 2010. He thinks Tanaka is one of the people who made him dream of becoming a pro wrestler so this will be a very special match. Also MAO believes the core of DDT is now made up of the DNA generation with Konosuke Takeshita and Tetsuya Endo right in the centre. Winning the KO-D Title will make MAO join the centre. Tanaka wants MAO to deliver his strange brand of wrestling because he does not want to lose against that style.

The #STRONGHEARTS return to continue their business partnership with DAMNATION. They face ALL OUT with their honorary member Chihiro Hashimoto in an Elimination Tag match. Hopefully Yuki Iino has gotten over his problems with Hashimoto. Also Shunma Katsumata is back from his minor surgery. Elsewhere CIMA teams up with Soma Takao, who used to wrestle as BIMA in his college club days.

DDT “ISN’T IT DRAMATIC 2020”, 24/02/2020
Nagoya City East Sports Center

1. Saki Akai “Okibariyasu” 7 Match Series – 4th Match – Rocky Of Naniwa II Vs Human Torpedo II: Saki Akai Vs Miranda Gordy
2. DDT Senbatsu-gun Vs Nagoya & Kengo Takai-gun: X & X Vs Kengo Takai & X
3. KO-D Tag Team Titles: Yuki Ueno & Naomi Yoshimura (c) Vs Danshoku Dieno & Cody Hall

Hall joined forces with Danshoku Dieno to form The Hole Brothers. This is all part of Dieno’s plan to win every championship he can in DDT. The first target in his sight is the KO-D Tag Titles held by Nautilus.

A sudden challenge has been made by Nagoya wrestler Kengo Takai. He is bringing a team with him to take on a selection of DDT wrestlers.

DDT “DRAMATIC RED READY! 2020”, 01/03/2020
Osaka Hirano Community Hall

1. Yuni Kid Wrestler Graduation Match: Yuni Vs X
2. KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles: Konosuke Takeshita, Shunma Katsumata & Yuki Iino (c) Vs Tetsuya Endo, T-Hawk & El Lindaman

The #STRONGHEARTS/DAMNATION alliance continue with a KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles shot. This all seems to be Tetsuya Endo’s idea. His work with T-Hawk & El Lindaman lately has worked out so far.

CIMA and Maku Donaruto will be on the show. Put them in the same match. Don’t put Donaruto with Yuni!

DDT “KAZUKI HIRATA 10TH ANNIVERSARY SHOW! 10 YEARS OF HIRATA GO!!”, 14/03/2020
Tokyo Belle Epoque Beauty School 2nd School Hall

1. Unusual Junior And Unusual Junior And Takeshita: Konosuke Takeshita Vs Maku Donaruto Vs Best Stretchman V3
2. Ora Ora Vs Danshoku Kitsune ~Please Enjoy Tominaga In DDT~: Yukio Sakaguchi & Punch Tominaga Vs Danshoku Dieno & Antonio Honda
3. Special 8-Man Dokken Battle!: HARASHIMA, Toru Owashi, Yasu Urano & Naoki Tanizaki Vs Soma Takao, Tetsuya Endo, Mad Paulie & Hiroshi Yamato
4. Synchronized Reunion! 10 Years OF HIRATA GO!: Kazuki Hirata & Keisuke Ishii Vs YO-HEY & Kenshin Chikano

I should figure out how long Kazuki Hirata has been doing his gimmick for. Is it longer than Magnum TOKYO at this point?

Katsumi Tamagawa will be the referee for the main event.

FUMA, Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi and Kouki Iwasaki will be on the show.

The first meeting was a decisive win for Miyu Yamashita. She welcomes the rematch with Natsumi Maki but only if Maki is fully motivated for it. Whether it is because of ring rust or a mental block, the version of Maki she defeated was not the one who was top tier in the roster before her injury.

Sadly Katsumata is currently out of action getting a metal plate removed from his cheekbone so he has to miss this one.

GAKE NO FUCHI JOSHI PRO “GAKEPPUCHI SNOW WHITE 2020”, 12/03/2020
Saitama Wrestle Arena

1. Miyako Matsumoto (w/ Ippanjin Munenori Sawa) Vs Chikara (w/ Mao)

The theme of Gake no Fuchi in 2020 is “I Want To Help Those Who Are In Need With Pro Wrestling”. Miyako Matsumoto is continuing this theme by using pro wrestling to find a potential bride for Chikara. This came about when Chikara took part in a rap battle and owned himself by admitting he can’t get married. The “bride” in question is Mao from the idol group Senosister. She describes herself as the Atsushi Onita of the idol world, having attended a Super FMW show in 2016 and getting Onita’s “holy water” thrown at her. She saw a picture of Chikara and was turned off because he looks like her uncle. Nevertheless, she agreed to attend the next show because her rent is due and she wants the money. Munenori Sawa was also invited to help out.

6. KO-D Tag Team Titles: Yuki Ueno & Naomi Yoshimura (c) Vs Chihiro Hashimoto & Yuki Iino
7. KO-D Openweight Title: HARASHIMA (c) Vs Masato Tanaka

Even though he won the D-Ou Grand Prix and was undefeated throughout the tournament, Masato Tanaka will not consider himself the strongest wrestler in DDT until he beats HARASHIMA to win the KO-D Openweight Title. He realises that the circumstances around this weekend’s match is very different from the 30 minute draw they had back in December. HARASHIMA claims he fought to win that time but still had fun, perhaps too much of it. This time he wants to fight like the champion he is.

Yuki Iino is fired up to win the KO-D Tag Team Titles on his own. He doesn’t trust Chihiro Hashimoto and she doesn’t trust him. Hashimoto has since made comments calling Iino an idiot that has made him angry.

Naomichi Marufuji still does not remember ever meeting Kazuki Hirata or having drinks with him. Hirata handed over a pair of Hirata GO! glasses to jog his memory but Marufuji broke them instead.

Three Right To Challenge Gauntlets are up for grabs in the Battle Royal. The match will end when all three prizes are claimed. However they don’t seem to be the only Gauntlets around this time.

The evening show looks a bit random other than the main event. That match is between the two wrestlers who failed to win the Union MAX Title from Masahiro Takanashi. If the match set up is good enough for Kota Ibushi and Jay White then it’s good enough for Isami Kodaka and Ryota Nakatsu.

Apparently there’s three more Gauntlets for a total of six?

We know MAO will be facing the KO-D Champion in February but DDT aren’t taking any chances for one of the preview matches. MAO will face both HARASHIMA and Tanaka in a 3 Way Tag no matter who the KO-D Champion is after this weekend. Tanaka is bringing in his old FMW buddy Tetsuhiro Kuroda to team with him.

The surprise opponent for Cherry is Asuka! The original plan was to reveal her on the day of the show but Ganbare☆Wrestling pushed ahead to announce her due to fans not wanting to wait that long.

Daisuke Kiso is making the main event a Secret Captain’s Fall Elimination match. The match will end when a team captain is eliminated. The twist is no one knows who the captains are until the elimination happens.

Kiso only found out recently that HARUKAZE does not own a judo jacket. She might have to borrow one from Gota Ihashi.

Moeka Haruhi had to be renamed Moehiko Harumisawa after a 3 Way Match gone wrong yesterday. More on that below.

Sakazaki & Itoh In EVE, Homoiro Clover Z Reunion

January 15, 2020

TOKYO JOSHI PRO “TOKYO JOSHI 2020 WINTER ~WONDERFUL HARMONY~”, 18/01/2020
Tokyo Itabashi Green Hall

1. Yuki Aino Vs Mahiro Kiryu
2. Akemi Daredasore, Yuki Kamifuku & Mina Shirakawa Vs Shoko Nakajima, Nodoka Tenma & Haruna Neko

4. Mirai Maiumi Vs Miu Watanabe
5. Yuka Sakazaki & Maki Itoh Vs Yuna Manase & Raku
6. Miyu Yamashita, Rika Tatsumi & Raku Vs Natsumi Maki, Hikari Noa & Pom Harajuku

This past weekend Yuka Sakazaki and Maki Itoh both wrestled in England for “WRESTLE QUEENDOM 3” hosted by Pro-Wrestling: EVE. Sakazaki fought to a 15 minute draw against Lana Austin. After the match Sakazaki told Austin they can have a rematch for the Princess Of Princess Title if Austin ever comes to Japan. In the other match, Itoh defeated “Session Moth” Martina. She was amazed at how Martina controlled the audience support at first but Itoh got them on her side because she is the cutest in the world. Itoh also thinks it was 100 times more exciting to sing in England than it is to sing in Japan.

Anyway long story short, Sakazaki & Itoh are teaming together for their first match back in Japan since the EVE show.

Itoh has invited Bull Nakano to attend the big Tokyo Joshi Pro show at Tokyo Dome City Hall this November. The two met at a talk event yesterday. Nakano’s advice for Itoh was no matter how good she gets, she needs to develop rivalries with other wrestlers from her era. That is what attracts fans and gets them to keep watching.

4. Isami Kodaka, Ryuichi Sekine & Minoru Fujita Vs Takumi Tsukamoto, Yasu Urano & Takato Nakano
5. Fuminori Abe & Takuya Nomura Vs Naoki Tanizaki & Akiyori Takizawa
6. IRON FIST TAG Titles: FUMA & Yusuke Kubo (c) Vs Tsutomu Oosugi & Banana Senga
7. Union MAX Title: Masahiro Takanashi (c) Vs Ryota Nakatsu

Unfortunately I’m still struggling to keep up with BASARA because they are still only posting the bare minimum of info on their new website. I’ll keep posting results for now. I’ll have to find a way to dig deeper into this.

Anyway, Masahiro Takanashi is not taking it easy as the Union MAX Champion. He defeated Isami Kodaka in his first defence. Now next on the plate for him is another former MAX champion, Ryota Nakatsu. He also pinned Kodaka recently to claim the title shot.

Tsutomu Oosugi pinning FUMA at the last show means Speed Of Sounds get an IRON FIST TAG Titles match.

3. BOYZ-Like Exchange Match: Konosuke Takeshita & Masahiro Takanashi Vs Shuichiro Tominaga & Shota
4. HomoClo Revival: Danshoku Dieno, Makoto Oishi & Akito Vs HARASHIMA, Keisuke Ishii & Mizuki Watase

Homoiro Clover Z are back! This was an idol unit put together by Danshoku Dieno between 2011 and 2012. There were a few reunions here and there afterward and it was never their decision to break up at the time. They had to because the entire roster was reset for new units to take their place.

Since there currently is not much interaction between the different brands on the main DDT shows, Akito is using the BOYZ brand to make matches involving Ganbare☆Wrestling wrestlers. Shota has been looking forward to wrestle against Konosuke Takeshita ever since he witnessed Takaeshita’s debut match back in 2012.

Akito thinks the YaroZ have their place on BOYZ shows too. They have their female fans believe it or not. Akito knows they can be as graceful as fairies if given the opportunity to.

Kazuki Hirata and Hiroshi Yamato will be on the show.

The card announcement was interrupted by a message from DAMNATION. They will be producing their own show in Shinjuku FACE on 7th April.

The next BOYZ show after this will be on 26th April at Itabashi Green Hall. However the next YaroZ show is also scheduled for the venue on the same day at the same time! An agreement was made for the shows to be held on separate floors. BOYZ gets the bigger room on the 2nd floor. YaroZ gets the smaller room on the 1st floor. They will have to use a low floor ring and can only fill in 124 people in the audience but the YaroZ people think the size is just right for them.

Yumehito Imanari won a Battle Royal to get this title shot. He is the most motivated he’s ever been as a pro wrestler. So even though he knows he will take a beating from Keisuke Ishii, he still likes his odds of winning.
