This past weekend Yuka Sakazaki and Maki Itoh both wrestled in England for “WRESTLE QUEENDOM 3” hosted by Pro-Wrestling: EVE. Sakazaki fought to a 15 minute draw against Lana Austin. After the match Sakazaki told Austin they can have a rematch for the Princess Of Princess Title if Austin ever comes to Japan. In the other match, Itoh defeated “Session Moth” Martina. She was amazed at how Martina controlled the audience support at first but Itoh got them on her side because she is the cutest in the world. Itoh also thinks it was 100 times more exciting to sing in England than it is to sing in Japan.

Anyway long story short, Sakazaki & Itoh are teaming together for their first match back in Japan since the EVE show.

Itoh has invited Bull Nakano to attend the big Tokyo Joshi Pro show at Tokyo Dome City Hall this November. The two met at a talk event yesterday. Nakano’s advice for Itoh was no matter how good she gets, she needs to develop rivalries with other wrestlers from her era. That is what attracts fans and gets them to keep watching.

6. IRON FIST TAG Titles: FUMA & Yusuke Kubo (c) Vs Tsutomu Oosugi & Banana Senga
7. Union MAX Title: Masahiro Takanashi (c) Vs Ryota Nakatsu

Unfortunately I’m still struggling to keep up with BASARA because they are still only posting the bare minimum of info on their new website. I’ll keep posting results for now. I’ll have to find a way to dig deeper into this.

Anyway, Masahiro Takanashi is not taking it easy as the Union MAX Champion. He defeated Isami Kodaka in his first defence. Now next on the plate for him is another former MAX champion, Ryota Nakatsu. He also pinned Kodaka recently to claim the title shot.

Tsutomu Oosugi pinning FUMA at the last show means Speed Of Sounds get an IRON FIST TAG Titles match.

BOYZ “(BRAND NEW) BOYZ α -VALENTINE EDITION-”, 11/02/2020
Kitazawa Town Hall

1. BOYZ Ace Showdown: MAO Vs Yuki Ueno
2. Fairy BOYZ: Yasu Urano & Antonio Honda Vs Kazusada Higuchi & Naomi Yoshimura
3. BOYZ-Like Exchange Match: Konosuke Takeshita & Masahiro Takanashi Vs Shuichiro Tominaga & Shota
4. HomoClo Revival: Danshoku Dieno, Makoto Oishi & Akito Vs HARASHIMA, Keisuke Ishii & Mizuki Watase

Homoiro Clover Z are back! This was an idol unit put together by Danshoku Dieno between 2011 and 2012. There were a few reunions here and there afterward and it was never their decision to break up at the time. They had to because the entire roster was reset for new units to take their place.

Since there currently is not much interaction between the different brands on the main DDT shows, Akito is using the BOYZ brand to make matches involving Ganbare☆Wrestling wrestlers. Shota has been looking forward to wrestle against Konosuke Takeshita ever since he witnessed Takaeshita’s debut match back in 2012.

Akito thinks the YaroZ have their place on BOYZ shows too. They have their female fans believe it or not. Akito knows they can be as graceful as fairies if given the opportunity to.

Kazuki Hirata and Hiroshi Yamato will be on the show.

The card announcement was interrupted by a message from DAMNATION. They will be producing their own show in Shinjuku FACE on 7th April.

The next BOYZ show after this will be on 26th April at Itabashi Green Hall. However the next YaroZ show is also scheduled for the venue on the same day at the same time! An agreement was made for the shows to be held on separate floors. BOYZ gets the bigger room on the 2nd floor. YaroZ gets the smaller room on the 1st floor. They will have to use a low floor ring and can only fill in 124 people in the audience but the YaroZ people think the size is just right for them.

1. Ganpro Vs DDT Full Battle: Shunma Katsumata defeated Shuhei Washida with a Buzzsaw Kick (12:54).
2. Special Tag Match: Ultimate Spider Jr. & Itsuki Aoki defeated Miss Mongol & Mizuki Watase when Spider pinned Watase with an Inverted Hurricanrana (9:54).
3. Ganpro Special Tag Match: Keisuke Ishii & Kouki Iwasaki defeated Shuichiro Katsumura & Yumehito Imanari when Ishii pinned Imanari with the Double Arm Extreme Driver (13:53).
4. Special Single Match: Chris Brookes defeated Shinichiro Tominaga with the Praying Mantis Bomb (14:02).
5. Scramble Bunkhouse Street Fight 6-Man Tag Death Match: The Great Nita, Ken Ohka & Hiroaki Moriya defeated Kenichiro Arai, Guts Ishijima & Shota when Ohka pinned Shota with the Vertical Drop Brainbuster (17:05).

The return of The Great Nita saw him attack Shota with a sickle, blind him with the Poison Mist and put him through a table with a Piledriver. He also attacked Guts Ishijima with the remains of the table. Ken Ohka got rid of Kenichiro Arai with the Fire Spear while Hiroaki Moriya took out Ishijima with a Lariat. The finish came when Ohka pinned Shota with the Vertical Drop Brainbuster.

But that wasn’t the end. Nita attacked Yukio Naya at ringside after the match and left him in a bloody mess with his sickle. Nita then wandered away and banged the sickle against the ring post. Ohka promoted the next Bakuha Koshien show on 28th March. He mentioned Atsushi Onita being absent from today’s show and assured everyone he will be back at Bakuha Koshien. Nita then attacked Ohka with the sickle but he got away mostly unharmed.

The language barrier was a little difficult but Chris Brookes got the message across to Ohka that he wants to be part of the Bakuha Koshien show when he comes back to Japan. Brookes was a big FMW fan growing up and he could never do an explosion match in England. He not only wants to take part in the match, he also wants to fight against Onita! It might kill him. If it does, it could also get him on the cover of Shukan Puroresu.

The second match turned out to be a lot more dangerous than expected. Mizuki Watase missed a Missile Dropkick intended for Ultimate Spider Jr. and hit Miss Mongol by accident instead. Mongol fainted which sent Watase into a rage. He charged at Spider but got pinned with an Inverted Hurricanrana. After the match Spider told everyone he wanted the match to be safer. He placed a chair down at the entrance stage and sat down in protest over how careless the match turned out. The other wrestlers simply lifted up the chair with him still sitting on it and carried him out of the room.

A 10 bell tribute was given to the late Kendo Nagasaki before the main event.

2. Someone Is Going To Miss You Special 3 Way Match: Hong Kong International Women Police Man (Moeka Haruhi) and Hong Kong International University Attached Female High School Student (HARUKAZE) defeated Hong Kong International Police Man (Choun-Shiryu) with a Double Jackknife Pin (10:18).
3. The Fifth Trial Singles Match Of Shuhei Washida: Yumehito Imanari defeated Shuhei Washida with the Imanari Special (12:35).
4. Ro & Ro Vs Hattoshite Good “β”: Shuichiro Katsumura & Shinichiro Tominaga defeated Shota & Buffalo when Katsumura submitted Buffalo with the Katsumura Special (11:48).
5. New Year Special Tag Match: Kuma Arashi & Yusuke Kodama defeated Keisuke Ishii & Kouki Iwasaki when Kodama pinned Iwasaki with a Frankensteiner (16:45).
6. Independent World Jr. Heavyweight Title Next Challenger Battle Royal: Yumehito Imanari defeated Shota by Ring Out (15:18).
Order Of Elimination: Ken Ohka, Kouki Iwasaki, HARUKAZE, Shuichiro Katsumura, Shin Suzuki, Moeka Haruhi, Shinichiro Tominaga and Shota.

Now more than ever Yumehito Imanari has become confident and comfortable as a pro wrestler. He’s had doubts over the last few years but now he has the chance to become the Independent World Jr. Heavyweight Champion! He knows Keisuke Ishii will give him a battering on 24th February but Imanari is crazy enough to think he can still beat him. When he becomes the champ he will make Ganbare☆Wrestling even more unusual with his ideas. Ishii attacked Imanari after the show and gave him a Fisherman Buster in the ring.

The home team of Ishii & Kouki Iwasaki were so close to getting a victory over Enfants Terribles. They worked over Yusuke Kodama but when Iwasaki turned his attention to keeping Kuma Arashi out of the ring, Kodaka pinned him with a flash Frankensteiner.

Buffalo kept apologizing to Shota for giving up. Shota let slip Buffalo’s real name “Yamada” while he complained to him.

Everybody was replaced in the 3 Way Match. Choun-Shiryu was replaced by Hong Kong International Police Man. Moeka Haruhi was replaced by Hong Kong International Women Police Man. HARUKAZE was supposed to be replaced by Hong Kong Domestic Police Man but his plane was delayed so Hong Kong International University Attached Female High School Student wrestled in their place instead. The fans chanted “Kokusai” (International) during the match. The police wrestlers tried to arrest everyone involved in the match including the referee. Hong Kong International Police Man ended up getting arrested at the end when the other two pinned him.

1. Gake no Fuchi New Year Falls Count Anywhere Hardcore Match: Chris Brookes (3,007 pts) defeated Miyako Matsumoto (1 pt) with the Praying Mantis Bomb (55:45).

Who is crazy enough to run against the Tokyo Dome on 4th January. This year it turns out to be a lot of people, actually. One of them was Gake no Fuchi Joshi, running their second show after a successful debut. Miyako Matsumoto thanked the fans for coming to the show today, especially the one person who was watching wrestling for the first time.

The theme of today’s show was “Overseas Expansion”. There were fans  from around the world who came here to see Chris Brookes. Matsumoto threatened to kill all of them. The match was broadcasting on Youtube so English commentary was provided by Shota and Mr. Haku. A Spanish announce table was also set up but the one Spanish person who bought a ticket went to Suidobashi instead of this show so the Spanish commentary was no longer going ahead.

The Gake no Fuchi rules for Matsumoto Vs Brookes was Hardcore, falls count anywhere, no rope breaks and no time limits. The match would end after a pinfall, submission, referee stoppage or knockout. However the winner would be determined over who had the higher amount of points from the minigames. After the entrances, both wrestlers stood for each other’s national anthems. Brookes had the British anthem and Matsumoto sang the Gake no Fuchi anthem. Brookes then attacked Matsumoto to start the match.

The 1st minigame was “Gake no Fuchi Sumo Match Day 1”. Brookes easily threw down Matsumoto to win a point. “Gake no Fuchi Sumo Match Day 2” then began. This time Matsumoto took on Brooke’s ringside second Drew Parker. Matsumoto went to grab his leg but fell on her knees, giving Brookes a second point. Brookes and Matsumoto fought outside where Brookes gave Matsumoto a Back Body Drop onto the ring apron. He put her in a Romero Special when Kuishinbo Kamen suddenly appeared! Matsumoto called on him to help her. Kamen instead threw candy into the audience and walked off.

The 3rd minigame was “Gake No Fuchi Kiso Flag Race” where the first to attack Daisuke Kiso wins. Matsumoto stopped Brookes from entering the ring first but missed her attack on Kiso. Brookes booted Kiso in the face to win a point. Brookes then gave Matsumoto a Soccer Kick to the back but Kiso was too hurt to count the pin. That was when Sanshiro Takagi made his entrance and declared himself the special referee! He was too busy doing his “Fire!” entrance to count Brookes’ pin. When he did count it was slow enough for Matsumoto to kick out. Takagi kept slow counting Brookes. When Brookes complained about it, Takagi pushed him into a School Boy from Matsumoto for a fast count nearfall. Brookes gave Takagi a Stunner to make him go away.

Brookes put Matsumoto in another Romero Special, prompting another masked man to enter the room. Jushin Liger’s music played and out came Ohuchi Thunder Rider! However Shota attacked him, upset at the bait and switch. Ohuchi Rider left without doing anything.

The 4th minigame was “Gake no Fuchi Hagoita Showdown” based on a game that kind of looks like badminton. Matsumoto immediately missed her show so Brookes won the point. Brookes was then allowed write on Shota’s face as the other reward. “Gake no Fuchi Hagoita Showdown 2” then took place between Matsumoto and Parker. This time Parker missed his shot, giving Matsumoto her first point! Parker took his frustration out on Shota by doodling on his face. “Gake no Fuchi Hagoita Showdown 3” was then held but it was a repeat of the first game, giving Brookes another point. Shota’s face was covered in ink by this point.

Brookes began to light up Matsumoto’s chest with Chops, prompting her to cry for help. Kuishinbo Kamen came back and he got to fight Parker in the “Gake no Fuchi Boxing Match”. Kamen put on boxing gloves and was ready to fight until Parker started kicking him. Kamen sat down on a chair at ringside and refused to participate any further until there is proper boxing. He had to be lifted on the chair and carried out of the room. Brookes won the point by forfeit.

It was not time for the “Gake no Fuchi Drunkers Match”. A shot of sake must be drunk after every pin otherwise the wrestler is disqualified. Kamen returned and started wrestling with Brookes but he missed the announcement and did not understand the rules. Once he found out he asked Shota to take his place. After Shota drank a shot, Matsumoto took his place. She and Brookes had a bunch of nearfalls that resulted in both of them having to drink 5 shots. Matsumoto spat her second shot at Brookes and was disqualified.

Matsumoto found the boxing gloves and used them to punch Brookes a lot. They fought outside the ring where Brookes put her in an Octopus Stretch. The “Gake no Fuchi Sumo Match Final Day” came along this time with Matsumoto & Ohuchi Rider teaming up against Kamen. Matsumoto jumped on Rider and told him to charge. She fell off. Kamen was given a point.

The final minigame to take place was the “Gaki no Fuchi Darts Showdown”. Parker gave everyone some darts then took off his shirt to reveal a dartboard was drawn on his back! That’s right the wrestlers had to play darts with Parker’s back! Brookes was winning despite his friend being in a lot of pain. That was when Matsumoto pulled out a knife. This is the point of the match where things got out of control.

She said this is is a new year and everyone came to see pro wrestling, not this farce! She attempted to stab Brookes but he took the knife off her. When he approached Matsumoto with the knife, she told him they should wrestle instead. Without the knife. He agreed. Matsumoto then took out a “death bottle” and force fed it to Brookes on the ropes. Brookes pressed the knife up to her face to escape. Matsumoto then took out a stapler and stapled a NOAH flyer onto Brookes’ head. If that wasn’t enough, Matsumoto also bit his head and screamed “Blood!” when he finally got cut.

As the fighting went back and forth, Brookes was sent outside of the ring. Matsumoto dove onto him with an assistance from Metropoli-chan V. They then set up a ladder and moved the Spanish announce table up next to the ring. Brookes was placed on the table and Matsumoto put him through it with a dive from the ladder! Brookes was able to kick out and get back into the ring.

Brookes gathered together a bunch of plastic cases. He dived at Matsumoto but she dodged it and Brookes went through the cases. Brookes then took out a bag but Matsumoto kicked him and took it off him. She emptied the bag to reveal thumbtacks! However Brookes ended up Power Bombing her onto the tacks. He later did a Michinoku Driver II onto the tacks and Parker hit a Firebird Splash afterwards. Somehow Matsumoto kicked out of the pin!

Matsumoto was still fighting. She countered the Praying Mantis Bomb into a Cradle for a nearfall. She then kicked a chair into Brookes’ head with a Shining Gakezard. After that she did a Diving Foot Stomp from the top rope but Brookes kicked out.

Matsumoto then took out a bunch of bamboo skewers. She told Brookes “Thank you so much, goodbye!” before trying to push them into his scalp. Brookes blocked her and instead pushed the skewers into the top of Matsumoto’s head!

Finally the match ended when Brookes gave Matsumoto the Praying Mantis Bomb with the skewers still sticking out of her head. Brookes was rewarded with 3,000 points for getting the three count. The final score was Brookes: 3,007, Matsumoto: 1 and Kamen: 1.

Brookes had a lot to say about the match. He called it “fuckin’ stupid” but Matsumoto took it as a compliment. She told him this was going to be his best match for the year he stays in Japan. After today nothing in Japan will scare him. Brookes thanked Matsumoto but also said he won’t do this match again. When he left with Parker, Matsumoto said 2020 will definitely be a good year for her because she overcame such a fierce match today. She sang the Gake no Fuchi national anthem again and wished all the fans a happy new year.

5. GanJo Vs DDT Wrestling Classroom Full Battle 6-Woman Tag Team Elimination Match: Moeka Haruhi, HARUKAZE & X Vs Cherry, Yuu & Banny Oikawa

Daisuke Kiso wanted the main event to definitively decided which team is better so he made it an Elimination Tag Match.

The 2 Count match was made to even the playing field between Moeka Haruhi and the less experienced Banny Oikawa.

Both HARUKAZE and Yuu will be wrestling in judo jackets because HARUKAZE wants the match to be entirely about grappling and groundwork.

The Count-Up Fall Match adds up the pinfall counts a wrestler makes. The first to reach their total count up to a predetermined number wins. Cherry’s opponent will be revealed on the day of the show. The mystery wrestler is hinted to be very beautiful and will also be a regular for Ganbare☆Wrestling in 2020.

Keisuke Ishii, Shigehiro Irie, Shota, Shuhei Washida and Shin Suzuki were all meant to be on the show but now they will not be there. Luckily a bunch of “joshi” replacements were quickly found.

Unfortunately Mike Bailey’s visa documents needed to enter Japan were lost by the international courier service. That means Bailey is unable to visit Japan next month and cannot be on the DDT shows. Bailey and DDT are currently working together for him to obtain his visa so he can wrestle here again as soon as possible.

Bailey’s problem means he will be replaced in the title matches he was previously booked for. Keisuke Ishii & Kazuki Hirata stepped up to challenge for the KO-D Tag Titles. Ishii said he has had a good 2019 and wants to have an even better start for 2020 by winning a championship. He thinks he and Hirata can do it if Hirata puts fourth the same amount of effort as he did in last week’s Independent World Jr. Heavyweight Title match.

Two final matches complete the Ittenyon card. Natsumi Maki returns from injury with a high profile match against Sareee. There is a lot of gossip about where Sareee will be wrestling in 2020 so it is nice to see her stop by Tokyo Joshi Pro for a match. As for Maki, win or lose her path will almost certainly lead her back to the International Princess Title. We already heard if Hikari Noa wins the title she wants to defend it against Maki. But Maki Itoh on the other hand is keeping her cards closer to her chest.

The rookie Sena Shiori debuts in the opening match.

5. Independent World Jr. Heavyweight Title – Delayed Young Drama Cup Final: Keisuke Ishii (c) defeated Kazuki Hirata with the High Angle Double Arm DDT (20:28).
*V4 for Keisuke Ishii.

This was not your regular Kazuki Hirata appearance. When he entered for the main event his usual “TOKYO GO!” song switched over to Hirata’s first entry song “Katare! Namida!” by SEX MACHINEGUN. There was no dancing or comedy, Hirata was here to win the Independent World Jr. Heavyweight Title from Keisuke Ishii! Hirata hit the GO! GO! Splash for a nearfall but couldn’t go through with the Egoist Driver when he needed to. Ishii slipped out of the move and hit a Tiger Suplex to turn the tide against his opponent. The High Angle Double Arm DDT ended up finishing Hirata and giving Ishii another title defence. After the match Ishii said his goal is to defend the title 17 times so he can break the championship record for most defences. This is only his fourth one so he couldn’t lost to Hirata today. Hirata accepted total defeat and encouraged Ishii to reach his goal. The show ended with all of Ganbare☆Wrestling gathering together in the ring. A tearful Ken Ohka spoke about how wonderful the group became this year. But it won’t be enough until Ganpro makes it to Korakuen Hall, Sumo Hall and even the Tokyo Dome! In 2020 Ganpro will become a major pro wrestling company!

Okay so I didn’t know this but the current Real GUTS Army team have actually been called Hattoshite Good Alps Industry because Guts Ishijima was no longer involved. The Hattoshite name is based off of a Toshihiko Tahara song. It probably doesn’t matter anymore because Ken Ohka, Yumehito Imanari & Miss Mongol beat them to win back the GWC 6-Man Tag Team Titles. It was the result of a months long plan by Imanari to discover Kenichiro Arai’s weakness. Whenever they locked up, Imanari would make a strange noise that would make Arai run away with fear. He regained some control when Masked Mystery distracted the referee so he could remove a turnbuckle pad. Shota swung the pad but Imanari ducked and Arai took the hit. Ohka & Mongol held the others back while Imanari pinned Shota with his version of the Gedo Clutch, causing the title change. Ohka wants to claim the belts as a Ganpro championship from now on. All they have to do is pretend the “GW” in GWC stands for Ganbare☆Wrestling instead of Guts World. Mongol revealed in a backstage interview that her daughter is currently sick in hospital. When Mongol visits her later in the day she will cheer her up by telling her the good news about her mother winning a championship.

GAKENOFUCHI JOSHI PRO “GAKEPPUCHI SNOW WHITE 2020”, 04/01/2020
Tokyo Itabashi Green Hall

1. Miyako Matsumoto Vs Chris Brookes

So much of the wrestling world’s attention will be on Japan this 4th January. For Gake no Fuchi Joshi to get some of that attention, they will need to put on a world class event that everyone would be proud to watch. To do this, the show will air live on Youtube with English and Spanish commentary options included (Shota will do the English commentary).

Chris Brookes is a completely new kind of opponent for Miyako Matsumoto. A really tall foreign male wrestler is something that Matsumoto has never fought before. Also Brookes has watched her previous Gake no Fuchi matches so he knows what kind of wrestling to expect from her. No rules have been decided yet but both of them like the idea of playing a game where they beat up Daisuke Kiso.

Matsumoto would like to hold Gake no Fuchi Joshi abroad in places like America and Britain. It would be affordable to do because the company only consists of one person (her) and everything else like the venue and opponent could be set up by a local promotion.

HARUKAZE has become confident in her ground game so she went looking for an opponent that could fit that aspect. Yuu with her judo background is the perfect choice.

Moeka Haruhi, Miss Mongol and Keisuke Ishii will be on the show.

6. Independent World Jr. Heavyweight Title – Monthly Young Communication November Issue For Only Two People ~The First Time In Nine Years~: Keisuke Ishii (c) defeated Michio Kageyama with the High Angle Double Arm DDT (18:36).
*V2 for Keisuke Ishii.

Keisuke Ishii took all that Michio Kageyama had to throw at him and that included tricks from Mr. Gannosuke’s playbook. He came out of the match still carrying the Independent World Jr. Heavyweight Title over his shoulder. Ken Ohka congratulated him at the end of the show. He also reminded him that he is a former champions and something he will definitely win it back. Ishii said he will always be waiting for Ohka’s challenge.

Ohka and Intelligence Sensational Grand Passion Mask #4 had been arguing with each other on Twitter in the build up to their tag match. They demanded that the other apologised and continued to do so several times during the match. There were points when Kouki Iwasaki and Kengo Takai stepped in and told their partners not to apologise otherwise it would be like giving up. Passion had the back of his trunks pulled down after a Sunset Flip from Ohka. His backside stayed exposed for the rest of the match. Ohka ended up pinning him and wanted to shake his hand afterwards. When Passion wouldn’t do it, Ohka left the ring. But Shota then appeared and helped Passion up to his feet.

A giddy Yumehito Imanari wanted to shake Nightshade’s hand before their match. Nightshade gave him the middle finger in a move that would make Maki Itoh proud. Nightshade hit the Neck Hanging Bomb and the Diving Senton to win. Imanari thanked Nightshade for wrestling him. He begged her to come back to Japan and become a regular foreign member of Pocchari Joshi.
