He is also questioning if Shinichiro Tominaga would behave the same way if he was injured too. Perhaps he would because Tominaga once suffered an ACL injury in Takashimadaira Ward Community Center. Going back to the venue and winning a championship is all the motivation he needs to banish that bad memory.

It is approaching two years since HARASHIMA last fought for the KO-D Openweight Title. The physical belt has changed since then and he would like to hold the new design at least once. He says he is in good enough shape to continue challenging for the championship. He also has a plan in mind to beat Yukio Naya despite having the size disadvantage. Basically big guys like Naya don’t like getting kicked in the face a lot.

ShunMao are still the KO-D Tag Team Champions so they are the ones defending the belts against Yukio Sakaguchi & Hikaru Machida. Meanwhile Bonno Dai Shacho get relegated to the dark match.

The three wrestlers producing their own matches for the show have come up with their decisions. Tetsuya Endo chose to do a rematch of his debut from 2012. When he teamed with Keisuke Ishii for his first match they lost to Akito & Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi. Now over a decade later Endo wants revenge!

Kazuki Hirata feels indebted to both Toru Owashi and Yukio Sakaguchi so he made this match to show his gratitude for them. He wanted it to be a fair fight and worked out that if he teams with Soma Takao, Gota Ihashi & Keigo Nakamura then both sides will be even. Items brought by the fans are allowed to be used as weapons but Hirata advises everyone not to bring anything too dangerous.

The poor wrestlers entering the Pheromones Rumble are being labelled by the unit as sacrifices.

The card for DDT’s longest show of the year is about halfway complete. Hisaya Imabayashi decided that Akito must put together another team to try and destroy Pheromones once and for all. Toru Owashi, Hiroshi Yamato & Yusuke Okada are the ones getting drafted into this battle.

Gorgeous Matsuno sent a demand to DDT for the O-40 Title to be reactivated. The championship was vacated by Toru Owashi last October but Matsuno is the person most associated with the prize. DDT accepted the demand and will thrown Matsuno into a match with Makoto Oishi and Shinichiro Kawamatsu to see which man over the age of 40 is the best!

Given the unusual mix of wrestlers available we’re getting some unique matches going on. Hikaru Sato returns to DDT to team with HARASHIMA against the old Shuten-dōji team of Yukio Sakaguchi & Masahiro Takanashi. There is a Hardcore match between the heavyweights Yukio Naya and MJ Paul. Then most odd of all is Kazuki Hirata challenging The Invisible Man to a fight! It will be the first time The Invisible Man will be in DDT since the Budokan Hall show in 2012!

The addition of Ryota Nakatsu to Harimao has fuelled some DNA nostalgia among the DDT roster. MAO was one of Nakatsu’s regular opponents on that brand so it’s time to see them fight each other for the first time in a long time.

An all BURNING tag match is being put together to build up Jun Akiyama’s upcoming DDT Extreme Title defence against Kotaro Suzuki.

Whoever is the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Champion on 4th March is supposed to defend the title in a Battle Royal that day. Penelope Ford is currently the champion but she’ll be going back to AEW with Kip Sabian after the 26th February Korakuen Hall show. If she is unable to return to DDT in time then the Battle Royal will go ahead with nothing on the line. DDT will then be left to figure out how they can get their belt back fair and square.

A press conference was held today to promote two of the big matches for the show. Both Yuka Sakazaki and Mizuki admitted to have mixed feelings over having to fight each other for the Princess Of Princess Title. Mizuki has a lot of respect for her friend but has now found herself wanting to be the one who carries Tokyo Joshi Pro on her back by winning the Princess Title. Sakazaki does not want to wrestle Mizuki but given how much they mean to each other she understands she has no choice but to do it. She noticed their bond has changed over time since their match at “WRESTLE PRINCESS” two and a half years ago. Out of the ring everything between them is normal when they are together but recently inside the ring their emotions have become more complicated during their preview tag matches. With that being said, both of them say The Magical Sugar Rabbits are staying together no matter who wins. In fact, they believe they will become an even more exciting tag team after they are done fighting each other.

The other match talked about was Yuki Arai’s uphill battle against Aja Kong. Arai has spent a lot of time thinking since last week’s tag match. She’s been trying to do what she can but still feels like she cannot reach her goal yet. There is still a month left for her to prepare so she wants to have a match that will leave an impact both on herself and also Kong too. Kong said she is not concerned about thinking what it is like as a “monster” to fight an idol. If you stand in front of Kong in the ring then you are a pro wrestler in her eyes and she is not taking Arai lightly. She knows Arai is thinking of ways to counter her most famous moves so Kong too is thinking about how to counter Arai’s moveset. It will be wrestler against wrestler at Ariake Coliseum so Kong wants to win!

A press conference held earlier today had Miu Watanabe and Janai Kai meeting each other face to face. Watanabe said the more she defends the International Princess Title, the more new sights she will get to see. Her target is to defend the belt next month both at Ariake Coliseum and in America. She can still feel her potential to grow as champion so she cannot lose it tomorrow. Kai said it took her five years to finally wrestle in Japan and winning the IP Title tomorrow is part of her dream. She is friends with Watanabe’s previous challenger Trish Adora and has already gotten advice from her on how to deal with Watanabe’s power. Kai also warned the champion that she is wearing black today because this press conference is also a funeral for Watanabe’s title reign! Watanabe tried to respond in English, telling Kai “No!” and “Not!” over and over. She also tried to say tomorrow but kept stuttering. Mr. HAKU figured out Watanabe was actually saying “to-tomorrow” as in the day after tomorrow.

Tetsuya Endo will be off of this weekend’s shows due to illness. He tested negative for covid though so he will be back and ready in time for Keiji Muto’s retirement show on Tuesday. Yukio Sakaguchi moves up from the 4 Way Tag to replace Endo in Match #4. Gota Ihashi now takes up the empty slot in the 4 Way, with some teams mixed around to fit him in.

The last two block matches in the D GENERATIONS CUP are must-wins for everyone involved. Whoever wins their match goes through to the final. Toi Kojima has a little extra wriggle room because a draw against Takeshi Masada will also send him through. No such tiebreaker is there for Hideki Okatani Vs Yuya Koroku though.

I thought I blogged about this already but I didn’t. DDT and Tokyo Joshi Pro are getting a match each on Keiji Muto’s retirement show at the Tokyo Dome next week. It will no doubt be the biggest wrestling event taking place in Japan this year. DDT’s match pits The 37KAMIINA against Endo and the three young wrestlers who best represents DDT’s future. TJPW are grouping together their four pillars to take on the generation tier that are right below them.

Whoever wins the D GENERATIONS CUP will also get bumped up the card too with a chance to fight both Hino & Sakaguchi in this tag match.

Saki Akai has been doing a good job keeping the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title in her grasp. She hasn’t been pinned or submitted since winning the title back in November.

The was a little bit of dissension between HARASHIMA & Yukio Naya in the main event but it was only out of competition. HARASHIMA gave Makoto Oishi a Soccer Kick early in the match. Naya then stepped in, said his kick is better and demonstrated it by giving his own Soccer Kick to Oishi. Their little back and forth was interrupted by Yuji Hino who threw them around with his power. Naya got back to fighting Oishi and won by pinning him with the Back Drop. After the match Hino said no matter who becomes the No. 1 Contender he is looking forward to defending the KO-D Openweight Title against either of them. HARASHIMA guaranteed he will be the challenger at DDT’s 26th Anniversary show. Naya said he will definitely surpass both HARASHIMA and Yukio Naya soon enough!

Members of DAMNATION T.A can rest a bit easy now that Daisuke Sasaki has reappeared in public this week. KANON & MJ Paul had a bad day anyway because they lost to Kazusada Higuchi and Harimao’s newest member Ryota Nakatsu. This was Nakatsu’s first match with the unit so he borrowed Naomi Yoshimura’s Harimao shirt for the ocassion even though it was one size too big for him.

The preview of the upcoming KO-D Tag Team Titles match between Shunma Katsumata and Sanshiro Takagi took an expected direction followed by an unexpected one. The expected was weapons being brought into the ring and used by both wrestlers. It was allowed because both men agreed to fight in a Burlesque Death Match where they were allowed to do whatever they want whenever burlesque music was heard. The unexpected was the music glitched out and was suddenly replaced with Yuki “Sexy” Iino’s theme, causing Iino to run in and attack Takagi! Katsumata tried to take advantage but it backfired when Takagi threw him face first into Iino’s backside. Takagi then pinned him with the Stunner. Takagi told Katsumata that there will be proper burlesque dancers at their Tag Title match on 23rd February where Bonno Dai Shacho will become the new champions!

After winning their 6-Man Tag Match, Yukio Sakaguchi & Hikaru Machida agreed to continue teaming together so they can challenge for the KO-D Tag Titles. It was confirmed they will get a shot of the belts on 26th February, three days after ShunMao’s defence against Bonno Dai Shacho at the burlesque club.

Akito gave fans a demonstration of the Master Of Environment Match he will be having against Jun Akiyama on 18th February. He attached a green rope from one side of the ring across the middle to the other side. Akito rolled up Akiyama in a Cradle and placed his feet on the rope for extra leverage to get a nearfall. The rope was then removed for the rest of the match to go ahead.

The D GENERATIONS CUP is heading towards the finish line with a few contenders in both blocks still in the race. Takeshi Masada scored his first points by beating Yuki Ishida with the Samurai Driver ’01. Toi Kojima takes the leading spot in the B Block by beating Keigo Nakamura. Lastly, Yuya Koroku has now caught up to Hideki Okatani in the A Block after his win over Ilusion.

For some reason the dark match began two days ago and was already 29 hours deep when fans started entering the venue. When they got to ringside they saw Iino, Danshoku “Dandy” Dieno, Toru Owashi and the referee all asleep in the ring while a tired Antonio Honda was meditating. The match continued despite everyone involved being exhausted. Some of them ended up sleepwalking around ringside only to climb back in at the count of 19. Honda tripped over the rope getting into the ring, which led to him telling a Gongitsune joke for the 102nd time. He fell asleep halfway through so Iino put him in a modified Cross Armbreaker that involves the arm bending over his backside. Honda gave up and the match finally ended after 30 hours of non-stop gripping excitement.

Manase Injured, GanJo Restart Going Ahead

A press conference was held by Ganbare☆Pro today for Yuna Manase with Ken Ohka and Michiyoshi Mishima also in attendance. It was to announce that Manase will be out of action for the time being in order to get knee surgery. She revealed she’s been dealing with a ruptured ACL and also a damaged meniscus in her left leg. The origin of the injury happened two years ago but Manase refused to get surgery at the time. Ganbare☆Joshi had begun running shows that year and she wanted to be part of them. Taking a long time off to heal her injury was an unnecessary option and she does not regret her decision. Last Autumn she noticed the pain in her knees was rising higher and consulted with everyone in the company over what to do. She continued to wrestle because it was at the time when she was getting so many opportunities everywhere from fighting in a Spirit Of Ganbare Title match to wrestling in other promotions like Ice Ribbon and Marvelous. Over the new year her doctor told her the knee was in worse condition and she needed to get the surgery. He was also sympathetic to Manase and told her “you did your best.” There is no timetable for Manase’s return but once she gets the surgery she thinks it will be about 10 months before she can start rehabbing her knee.

Ohka was full of praise for Manase’s fighting spirit and being part of Ganpro’s family. He knows she will be back in the ring some day and everyone will be there to support her. A reporter asked Mishima if the announcement will effect the GanJo division. Mishima said the all women GanJo show they announced at the end of last year was originally going to take place this month but then Manase’s situation came up. They also found out HARUKAZE’s schedule outside of pro wrestling (she is part of a comedy duo called Never Give Up) has gotten busier. She told them she prefers to be on the regular GanPro shows whenever she is available because she wants to fight men as well as women. So GanJo will become a blank slate because its two main characters are missing and they will wait for Manase’s return to restart it.

At that moment the press conference was suddenly interrupted by YuuRI and Yoshiko Hasegawa. With Manase out of action, the two of them asked if they could carry GanJo in her place? They both have not been wrestling for long but they want to protect GanPro and keep the flame of GanJo burning for Manase to return. Ohka told them it is not easy to produce a wrestling show by themselves but he was able to do it for the very first GanPro event with just 15,000 yen. He is happy to see YuuRI & Hasegawa doing whatever they can to help and told them the relaunch show will go ahead! Mishima decided the show will take place in Yokohama Radiant Hall on 1st April because GanPro already had the venue reserved for that date. It is now up to YuuRI & Hasegawa to put it all together!

7. Special 6-Man Tag Match: Kazusada Higuchi, Yuki Ishida & Chris Brookes defeated Yuji Hino, Yukio Naya & Hideki Okatani when Higuchi pinned Okatani with the Brain Claw Slam (18:10).

The final preliminary tag match between Kazusada Higuchi and Yuji Hino ended with Higuchi getting his hand raised as the winner. Earlier in the show both wrestlers participated in a contract signing ceremony and gave their comments for the KO-D Openweight Title match on 29th January. Hino said he wants the match to show off the greatness of DDT’s heavyweight division. Higuchi said it will be a match only the two of them will do and it there will be a clear winner coming out of it. After the main event Higuchi told Hino he is protecting the KO-D Title with his entire body and soul.

When Jun Akiyama holds the DDT Extreme Title, the championship is no laughing matter. The belt was on the line in a first to three falls Monoboke Death Match. Every time Antonio Honda kicked out of a pin or caused a rope break he was given a chance to make Akiyama laugh. Do it three times and he will win the match. Akiyama had to beat Honda by regular means three times in order to win, which was easy because he immediately pinned Honda with a Small Package when the match began. Honda brought along a box filled with costumes to do impressions with. He was pinned again with an Exploder Suplex but finally made Akiyama laugh after telling a joke about nipples. That was the only joy he got because Akiyama put him straight into a Front Neck Lock and made Honda submit for the last fall to give Akiyama the win.

After the match Akito challenged Akiyama to a title match. He pointed out that Akiyama has been defending the title against previous champions so Akito wants to be next in line. He even offered to come up with the match stipulation himself. Akito also wants to return the belt back to the purple strap if he can win it. Akiyama accepted and the match will go ahead in Nagoya on 18th February.

BURNING and Pheromones had a couple of matches against each other today in the build up to their KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles match at the end of the month. The matches became heated when Yuki Iino discovered at the start of the show that Tetsuya Endo had stolen his O-back! It had an effect on their matches because Yusuke Okada and Danshoku Dieno fought each other with no care over their fight being called off by the referee. Dieno ended up winning when Iino flashed Okada for a distraction, allowing Dieno to give Okada a Low Blow and then a School Boy. Endo got revenge after the match by stripping Iino completely naked!

Iino later returned in his usual wrestling gear for the revenge match against Endo. Dieno had warned everyone that because Endo still had possession of the O-back, Iino was going commando! This time Okada interfered in the match causing a ref bump to Yukinori Matsui. Iino was stripped naked again but Dieno grabbed the O-back and gave it back to him. Endo knocked Iino face down onto the canvas and climbed the turnbuckle to set up the Burning Star Press. Dieno then handed the O-back to Endo and Matsui regained consciousness. He saw Iino was completely naked with Endo holding his costume and disqualified Endo thinking he stripped his opponent! Dieno then got Endo in a Lip Lock and Stunner for good measure. A Pheromones made their exit, Dieno told everyone “This is the way of Kotaro Suzuki!” They spent the backstage interview blaming everything that happened today on Suzuki and he will pay for it on 29th January.

When Kai comes over to Japan she has an International Princess Title shot against Miu Watanabe waiting for her. Her TJPW debut is happening a week earlier on 11th February.

The goal of the Monoboke Death Match is for Antonio Honda to make Jun Akiyama laugh. Every time Honda kicks out of a pin or uses a rope break to escape a submission, he gets to make a joke. If he can get Akiyama to laugh three times he will win the match. Akiyama on the other hand needs to beat Honda by pinfall or submission three times in order to successfully defend the DDT Extreme Title.

If Daisuke Sasaki ends his self-imposed exile and shows up he will be booked for a match. The undercard will be changed around as a result.

MAO & Shunma Katsumata will not be at the show because they will be wrestling in California for Prestige that same day.

He committed to challenge Doi anyway because he now thinks winning the title from him will cheer Sasaki up and bring him out of hiding.

Kotaro Suzuki, Kip Sabian, Penelope Ford and Shinya Ishida will all be on the show.

The three wrestlers taking part in the DDT Universal Title match all met for a press conference held yesterday. Naruki Doi said he is ready to continue his fight with Daisuke Sasaki after the two went to a 30 minute draw over a week ago. He expects to settle his score with Sasaki first, then beat Yuki Ueno to win the title. Sasaki (who was drinking) said the match does not need Ueno and he accused him of devaluing the Universal Title after Ueno lost to Kazusada Higuchi at “NEVER MIND 2022”. Sasaki thinks it is now up to him and Doi to make the belt be worth more than the KO-D Openweight Title. Ueno calmly ignored Sasaki’s insults and spoke about his upcoming plans with the title. After he defends it tomorrow, he will put the belt on the line against Samuray Del Sol on 21st March and then he will bring it with him to America. It is his dream to defend the Universal Title in the USA so everything from here on out will be a journey towards that destination.

Before tomorrow’s show begins there will be a contract signing for both the DDT Extreme Title Match for 21st January and the KO-D Tag Team Titles Match for 29th January.

Wakana Uehara gets her wish and will face Shoko Nakajima. The way it plays out in her head is it will be a high flying battle in the skies. It’s probably not going to turn out that way.

The last few months of 2022 saw a bit of a career revival for Yasu Urano thanks to successes in both BASARA and JUST TAP OUT. It’s up to Isami Kodaka to make sure the freelancer does not spoil BASARA’s 7th anniversary by defending the Union MAX Title against him.

Fuminori Abe will have his first match in BASARA since going freelance on this show.

Yuna Manase versus Yoshiko Hasegawa is a first time singles match between the two.

Over in the Young Ganbare Cup either Yumehito Imanari or Kentaro Hachisu can get one win closer to winning the tournament outright if one can beat the other. Meanwhile when Yuki Kanzaki and Munetatsu Nakamura face each other one of them can get their first win in Ganbare☆Pro.

Not only is he doing the main event but he is running the gauntlet by taking part in three grappling rules bouts with no striking allowed. Each bout will have a five minute time limit and victory can be achieved by submission or referee stoppage. If a bout goes to a time limit draw then whoever made the least rope breaks will win. If both wrestlers have the same amount then it will remain a tie.
