Yokohama Radiant Hall
194 Fans

1. Suzume & Arisu Endo defeated Wakana Uehara & HIMAWARI when Suzume pinned HIMAWARI with the Ring A Bell (9:04).
2. 3 Way Match: Yuki Aino defeated Hikari Noa and Kaya Toribami when Aino pinned Toribami with the Venus DDT (8:20).
3. Mizuki defeated Pom Harajuku with the Face Lock (9:13).
4. Yuka Sakazaki defeated Raku with the Magical Merry-Go-Round (10:51).
5. Miyu Yamashita & Moka Miyamoto defeated Shoko Nakajima & Mahiro Kiryu when Yamashita pinned Kiryu with the Attitude Adjustment (11:17).
6. Rika Tatsumi, Hyper Misao & Nao Kakuta defeated Miu Watanabe, Yuki Kamifuku & Haruna Neko when Tatsumi pinned Neko with the Twist Of Fate (12:31).

The main event begun with Rika Tatsumi grabbing Nao Kakuta and swinging her around the ring, wiping out Hyper Misao while she was in the middle of reciting a poem she wrote and then catching the opponents. Misao’s poem was 8,926 characters long and was about her relationship with Tatsumi. Kakuta was there to help Tatsumi later by grabbing onto her arms while clinging her legs to the ropes in order to stop Miu Watanabe from doing the Giant Swing. Yuki Kamifuku’s Big Boot missed its target and caught Watanabe by mistake. Watanabe’s comeback was then cut off by Misao, allowing Tatsumi to pin Haruna Neko with the Twist Of Fate.

After the match Tatsumi said if she wins the International Princess Title on 18th March then she will be the first Tokyo Joshi Pro grand slam champion. It is a goal she wants to achieve because she will be the only grand slam champion in TJPW.

Due to agreements with the venue back when it was first booked, today’s show did not allow cheering from the fans. It will be the last TJPW event following that rule unless plans change down the line. Raku kept wanting to sneeze during the early part of her match so Yuka Sakazaki had to keep Raku’s mouth covered until the urge went away.

Inspired by the “The Tortoise And The Hare” Pom Harajuku wore a turtle shell cushion backpack for her match against Mizuki. The referee didn’t allow it at first until Harajuku convinced him the shell counts as part of her body. It protected her from stomps to the back but she then took it off after getting kicked in the stomach. Mizuki then used the shell to block Harajuku’s attacks and she then made her tap to the Face Lock.

Two debuts are in the top two matches of this show. The Up Up Girls get the entire main event to themselves for Shino Suzuki’s first match. Toga is in the match before taking on Miyu Yamashita.

Toga is sticking with the name for her debut, switching the spelling from Hiragana (とうが) to Kanji (凍雅). It is similar to what Raku did with her name when she turned pro. Toga has been a pro wrestling fan since elementary school and was inspired to become a wrestler after seeing Saki Akai. She was born in Kanagawa on 27th February, 2003. She is 168cm tall.

Konosuke Takeshita will be back in Japan a little bit earlier than expected. His next match in DDT is on this show a few days before “JUDGEMENT 2023”. He’ll be across the ring from Sanshiro Takagi so fans will get to see a preview of their singles match.

Coming over from ChocoPro it’s the DDT debut of Chie Koishikawa! Put her in there with Yukio Sakaguchi. I bet she can handle him easily.

BASARA “BASARA 214 ~KOO~”, 28/03/2023
Shin-Kiba 1st RING

1. Union MAX Title: Isami Kodaka (c) Vs Banana Senga

Recently Tsutomu Oosugi won the TTT Indie Unified Openweight Title, his very first singles championship. It may be the inspiration for Banana Senga’s sudden decision to challenge Isami Kodaka for the Union MAX Title. The weird thing is Senga currently holds the TTT Indie Unified 6-Man Tag Team Titles with two other wrestlers so it’s not as if he’s had no success away from Speed Of Sounds.

Everything Other Than The Big Show Lineups, Shino Suzuki Debut

February 27, 2023

A lot to get through here. I’ll save the “GRAND PRINCESS ’23” and “JUDGEMENT 2023” for the next post just to give the pages some breathing room. There will be so much to write about between the two “Big Match” events, Wrestlemania Weekend, a whole bunch of debuting wrestlers and all of the other international bookings to keep track of. Staying up to date with the all of the news and shows in the next month is probably going to kill me.

BASARA “BASARA 212 ~KOO~”, 28/02/2023
Shin-Kiba 1st RING

1. Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi & Daichi Kazato Vs Lil’ Kraken & Tsutomu Oosugi
2. Turnabout Pro Wrestling Trial: Gouma Ryu Vs Banana Senga Vs Antonio Honda
3. FUMA & KUBITO Vs Masato Kamino & Yasu Urano
4. Takumi Tsukamoto Vs SAGAT
5. Ryota Nakatsu & Kazusada Higuchi Vs Daiki Shimomura & Fuminori Abe
6. Union MAX Title: Isami Kodaka (c) Vs Takato Nakano

The lineup for the “ALL STAR JR FESTIVAL 2023~” was revealed over the weekend and it turns out Isami Kodaka is the only BASARA representative on the show. Takato Nakano was convinced he would be on it. Maybe winning the Union MAX Title away from Kodaka tomorrow will lead to a last minute change of plan.

TOKYO JOSHI PRO “TJPW CITY CIRCUIT WINTER ~YOKOHAMA PERFORMANCE~”, 04/03/2023
Yokohama Radiant Hall

1. 3 Way Match: Yuki Aino Vs Hikari Noa Vs Kaya Toribami
2. Suzume & Arisu Endo Vs Wakana Uehara & HIMAWARI
3. Mizuki Vs Pom Harajuku
4. Yuka Sakazaki Vs Raku

6. Miu Watanabe, Yuki Kamifuku & Haruna Neko Vs Rika Tatsumi, Hyper Misao & Nao Kakuta

One more chance for Miu Watanabe and Rika Tatsumi to test themselves against each other before the International Princess Title match.

The “GRAND PRINCESS ’23” main event are in separate singles matches. Yuka Sakazaki has to fight Raku and her dreaded pillow. Mizuki continues going through a… um… well calling it a murderer’s row of opponents isn’t accurate given how little a challenge they’ve given her so far. More like a jaywalker’s path? That’s kind of the level of crime Pom Harajuku would commit I guess.

Daisy Monkey are back teaming up to take on the rookie pairing of Wakana Uehara & HIMAWARI.

Maki Itoh is missing the show because she will be in America wrestling for GCW that day.

DDT “DDT YOKOHAMA UNLIMITED VOL. 2”, 04/03/2023

7. Special Tag Match: Yuji Hino & Yukio Sakaguchi Vs Yukio Naya & Takeshi Masada

All aboard for the journey to DDT’s 26th Anniversary show! The top three matches in Yokohama are all building towards “JUDGEMENT 2023”. Yuji Hino and Yukio Naya have a few preview tag matches to get ready for.

The Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title is now safe and sound in the hands of Yoshihiko. The doll still has a big challenge coming up, defending the belt in a Battle Royal.

Yuki Ueno will be absent from a few DDT shows this month because he got a part in a stage show.

Nagano is getting a Dragongate adjacent trio led by Yasushi Kanda taking on The 37KAMIINA.

Tatsuhito Takaiwa makes his first appearance in Ganbare☆Pro since November.

The ROMANCE DAWN rivalry ends here. Shota and Soma Takao want to settle their conflict once and for all before they team up to chase after the Spirit Of Ganbare Tag Team Titles.

DDT “DDT GOES HOLLYWOOD”, 30/03/2023
Ukrainian Cultural Center, Los Angeles, California, USA

6. Dramatic Dream Tag Match: Jun Akiyama & Eddie Kingston Vs Daisuke Sasaki & KANON

Well… Sanshiro Takagi did promise he was getting somebody from AEW to help him fight Pheromones in Los Angeles. Michael Nakazawa is an AEW wrestler so where’s the lie?

Takeshi Masada will be on the show as his main prize for winning the D GENERATIONS CUP. He is demanding a first class ticket to get there too. Kazusada Higuchi is also booked for the show so if there’s room for one more match that pairing would be a good one.

DDT “APRIL FOOL 2023”, 09/04/2023
Tokyo Korakuen Hall

2. KO-D Tag Team Titles: MAO & Shunma Katsumata (c) Vs X & X

Whoever wins the KO-D Tag Team Titles match between ShunMao and Harimao at “JUDGEMENT 2023” will next defend the belts on 9th April.

The third trainee in the recent class of five is ready to make his debut. Rukiya Ikeda is from Toyonaka City, Osaka and was born on 25th February, 2001. He is 177cm tall and weighs 80kg. His athletic background is in baseball and grappling.

Naruki Doi and Kotaro Suzuki will both be on the show.

DDT “DRAMATIC EXPLOSION IN NIIGATA”, 16/04/2023
Niigata Bandaijima Multi-Purpose Plaza

1. KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles: Shinya Aoki, Yuki Ueno & Super Sasadango Machine (c) Vs Jun Akiyama, Yusuke Okada & Yuya Koroku

Super Sasadango Machine had a plan to win the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles from BURNING in order to set up a big match in his hometown against Jun Akiyama. The plan worked perfectly! Akiyama has picked Yusuke Okada & Yuya Koroku to be his partners for the match. It means Sasadango, Ueno & Shinya Aoki now have to face BURNING again but if they win here then they will have beaten every member of the group!

Tomorrow is Tokyo Joshi Pro’s first visit to the Industrial Plaza PiO in Ota Ward.

GANBARE☆PRO “ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD 2023”, 25/02/2023
Takashimadaira Ward Community Center

1. Shota Vs Munetatsu Nakamura
2. Yumehito Imanari & Kabuto Mitomi Vs Soma Takao & Yuki Kanzaki
3. GanJo Special Tag Match: Moeka Haruhi & HARUKAZE Vs YuuRI & Yoshiko Hasegawa
4. Special Tag Match: Ken Ohka & Keisuke Ishii Vs Shuichiro Katsumura & Hartley Jackson
5. Spirit Of Ganbare World Openweight Title: Mizuki Watase (c) Vs Shinichiro Tominaga

Mizuki Watase is going into the Spirit Of Ganbare Title match with an injured arm. However he is determined to fight through the pain and has told Daisuke Kiso not to end the match no matter how bad the injury worsens. He is also questioning if Shinichiro Tominaga would behave the same way if he was injured too. Perhaps he would because Tominaga once suffered an ACL injury in Takashimadaira Ward Community Center. Going back to the venue and winning a championship is all the motivation he needs to banish that bad memory.

DDT “INTO THE FIGHT 2023”, 26/02/2023
Tokyo Korakuen Hall

0. MJ Paul & KANON Vs Masahiro Takanashi & Antonio Honda
0. 4 Way Tag Match: Yuki “Sexy” Iino & Danshoku “Dandy” Dieno Vs Toru Owashi & Gota Ihashi Vs Saki Akai & Kazuki Hirata Vs Sanshiro Takagi & Fuminori Abe
1. D GENERATIONS CUP 6-Man Tag Match: Hideki Okatani, Yuki Ishida & Ilusion Vs Keigo Nakamura, Toi Kojima & Kazuma Sumi

5. KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles: Tetsuya Endo, Kotaro Suzuki & Yusuke Okada (c) Vs Shinya Aoki, Yuki Ueno & Super Sasadango Machine
6. KO-D Tag Team Titles: MAO & Shunma Katsumata (c) Vs Yukio Sakaguchi & Hikaru Machida
7. KO-D Openweight Title Next Challenger Decision Match: HARASHIMA Vs Yukio Naya

It is approaching two years since HARASHIMA last fought for the KO-D Openweight Title. The physical belt has changed since then and he would like to hold the new design at least once. He says he is in good enough shape to continue challenging for the championship. He also has a plan in mind to beat Yukio Naya despite having the size disadvantage. Basically big guys like Naya don’t like getting kicked in the face a lot.

ShunMao are still the KO-D Tag Team Champions so they are the ones defending the belts against Yukio Sakaguchi & Hikaru Machida. Meanwhile Bonno Dai Shacho get relegated to the dark match.

DDT “HANAMI PRO WRESTLING 2023”, 12/03/2023
Saitama Tokorozawa Aviation Memorial Park Outdoor Stage

1. Yuki “Sexy” Iino Produce Match ~ Pheromone Rumble: Yuki “Sexy” Iino, Danshoku “Dandy” Dieno & Yumehito “Fantastic” Imanari Vs Sacrifice X
2. Kazuki Hirata Produce Match ~ Bring Items Anywhere Falls Count Fair And Square Full Settlement Tag Team Match: Kazuki Hirata, Soma Takao, Gota Ihashi & Keigo Nakamura Vs Toru Owashi & Yukio Sakaguchi
3. Tetsuya Endo Produce Match ~ Shiraishi Castle Love Song: Tetsuya Endo & Keisuke Ishii Vs Akito & Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi

The three wrestlers producing their own matches for the show have come up with their decisions. Tetsuya Endo chose to do a rematch of his debut from 2012. When he teamed with Keisuke Ishii for his first match they lost to Akito & Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi. Now over a decade later Endo wants revenge!

Kazuki Hirata feels indebted to both Toru Owashi and Yukio Sakaguchi so he made this match to show his gratitude for them. He wanted it to be a fair fight and worked out that if he teams with Soma Takao, Gota Ihashi & Keigo Nakamura then both sides will be even. Items brought by the fans are allowed to be used as weapons but Hirata advises everyone not to bring anything too dangerous.

The poor wrestlers entering the Pheromones Rumble are being labelled by the unit as sacrifices.

DDT “JUDGEMENT 2023 ~LONGEST 5 HOUR SPECIAL IN KORAKUEN HISTORY~”, 21/03/2023
Tokyo Korakuen Hall

1. O-40 Title – 3 Way Match: Makoto Oishi Vs Gorgeous Matsuno Vs Shinichiro Kawamatsu
2. Pheromones Vs Pheromones Subjugation Army All Out Battle: Yuki “Sexy” Iino, Danshoku “Dandy” Dieno, Yumehito “Fantastic” Imanari & Koju “Shining Ball” Takeda Vs Akito, Toru Owashi, Hiroshi Yamato & Yusuke Okada
3. International Special Single Match: Samuray Del Sol Vs Yuki Ueno
4. DDT 26th Anniversary Special Single Match: Sanshiro Takagi Vs Konosuke Takeshita
5. DDT Extreme Title – Regular Pro Wrestling Rules: Jun Akiyama (c) Vs Kotaro Suzuki
6. DDT Universal Title: Naruki Doi (c) Vs Tetsuya Endo
7. KO-D Openweight Title: Yuji Hino (c) Vs Winner Of 26/02 Match

The card for DDT’s longest show of the year is about halfway complete. Hisaya Imabayashi decided that Akito must put together another team to try and destroy Pheromones once and for all. Toru Owashi, Hiroshi Yamato & Yusuke Okada are the ones getting drafted into this battle.

Gorgeous Matsuno sent a demand to DDT for the O-40 Title to be reactivated. The championship was vacated by Toru Owashi last October but Matsuno is the person most associated with the prize. DDT accepted the demand and will thrown Matsuno into a match with Makoto Oishi and Shinichiro Kawamatsu to see which man over the age of 40 is the best!

DDT “DDT GOES YOKOHAMA! ~BLOW UP HOLLYWOOD!!~”, 01/04/2023
Yokohama Radiant Hall

1. Special Single Match: Kazuki Hirata Vs Invisible Man
2. Hardcore Match: MJ Paul Vs Yukio Naya
3. Special Tag Match: HARASHIMA & Hikaru Sato Vs Yukio Sakaguchi & Masahiro Takanashi

While a bulk of the DDT roster will be in America, a few of the others will remain in Japan to hold the fort and run their own show. Given the unusual mix of wrestlers available we’re getting some unique matches going on. Hikaru Sato returns to DDT to team with HARASHIMA against the old Shuten-dōji team of Yukio Sakaguchi & Masahiro Takanashi. There is a Hardcore match between the heavyweights Yukio Naya and MJ Paul. Then most odd of all is Kazuki Hirata challenging The Invisible Man to a fight! It will be the first time The Invisible Man will be in DDT since the Budokan Hall show in 2012!

DDT “DDT YOKOHAMA UNLIMITED VOL. 2”, 04/03/2023
Yokohama Radiant Hall

1. Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title – Battle Royal: Penelope Ford (c) Vs X
2. Special Tag Match: Jun Akiyama & Yusuke Okada Vs Tetsuya Endo & Kotaro Suzuki
3. Special Single Match: MAO Vs Ryota Nakatsu
4. Special Tag Match: Yuji Hino & Yukio Sakaguchi Vs 26/2 Main Event Winner & D GENERATIONS CUP Winner

The addition of Ryota Nakatsu to Harimao has fuelled some DNA nostalgia among the DDT roster. MAO was one of Nakatsu’s regular opponents on that brand so it’s time to see them fight each other for the first time in a long time.

An all BURNING tag match is being put together to build up Jun Akiyama’s upcoming DDT Extreme Title defence against Kotaro Suzuki.

Whoever is the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Champion on 4th March is supposed to defend the title in a Battle Royal that day. Penelope Ford is currently the champion but she’ll be going back to AEW with Kip Sabian after the 26th February Korakuen Hall show. If she is unable to return to DDT in time then the Battle Royal will go ahead with nothing on the line. DDT will then be left to figure out how they can get their belt back fair and square.

TOKYO JOSHI PRO “GRAND PRINCESS ’23”, 18/03/2023
Ariake Coliseum

1. Haru Debut Match: Haru Vs X
2. Momo Debut Match: Momo Vs X
3. Sakisama & Mei Saint-Michel Vs Yuki Kamifuku & Billie Starkz
4. Special Single Match: Aja Kong Vs Yuki Arai
5. Princess Tag Team Titles: Princess Tag Team Titles: Max The Impaler & Heidi Howitzer (c) Vs Miyu Yamashita & Maki Itoh
6. International Princess Title: Miu Watanabe (c) Vs Rika Tatsumi
7. Princess Of Princess Title: Yuka Sakazaki (c) Vs Mizuki

A press conference was held today to promote two of the big matches for the show. Both Yuka Sakazaki and Mizuki admitted to have mixed feelings over having to fight each other for the Princess Of Princess Title. Mizuki has a lot of respect for her friend but has now found herself wanting to be the one who carries Tokyo Joshi Pro on her back by winning the Princess Title. Sakazaki does not want to wrestle Mizuki but given how much they mean to each other she understands she has no choice but to do it. She noticed their bond has changed over time since their match at “WRESTLE PRINCESS” two and a half years ago. Out of the ring everything between them is normal when they are together but recently inside the ring their emotions have become more complicated during their preview tag matches. With that being said, both of them say The Magical Sugar Rabbits are staying together no matter who wins. In fact, they believe they will become an even more exciting tag team after they are done fighting each other.

The other match talked about was Yuki Arai’s uphill battle against Aja Kong. Arai has spent a lot of time thinking since last week’s tag match. She’s been trying to do what she can but still feels like she cannot reach her goal yet. There is still a month left for her to prepare so she wants to have a match that will leave an impact both on herself and also Kong too. Kong said she is not concerned about thinking what it is like as a “monster” to fight an idol. If you stand in front of Kong in the ring then you are a pro wrestler in her eyes and she is not taking Arai lightly. She knows Arai is thinking of ways to counter her most famous moves so Kong too is thinking about how to counter Arai’s moveset. It will be wrestler against wrestler at Ariake Coliseum so Kong wants to win!

5. International Princess Title: Miu Watanabe (c) Vs Janai Kai
6. Miyu Yamashita & Yuki Arai Vs Aja Kong & Moka Miyamoto

A press conference held earlier today had Miu Watanabe and Janai Kai meeting each other face to face. Watanabe said the more she defends the International Princess Title, the more new sights she will get to see. Her target is to defend the belt next month both at Ariake Coliseum and in America. She can still feel her potential to grow as champion so she cannot lose it tomorrow. Kai said it took her five years to finally wrestle in Japan and winning the IP Title tomorrow is part of her dream. She is friends with Watanabe’s previous challenger Trish Adora and has already gotten advice from her on how to deal with Watanabe’s power. Kai also warned the champion that she is wearing black today because this press conference is also a funeral for Watanabe’s title reign! Watanabe tried to respond in English, telling Kai “No!” and “Not!” over and over. She also tried to say tomorrow but kept stuttering. Mr. HAKU figured out Watanabe was actually saying “to-tomorrow” as in the day after tomorrow.

8. DDT Universal Title: Naruki Doi (c) Vs KANON

Tetsuya Endo will be off of this weekend’s shows due to illness. He tested negative for covid though so he will be back and ready in time for Keiji Muto’s retirement show on Tuesday. Yukio Sakaguchi moves up from the 4 Way Tag to replace Endo in Match #4. Gota Ihashi now takes up the empty slot in the 4 Way, with some teams mixed around to fit him in.

The last two block matches in the D GENERATIONS CUP are must-wins for everyone involved. Whoever wins their match goes through to the final. Toi Kojima has a little extra wriggle room because a draw against Takeshi Masada will also send him through. No such tiebreaker is there for Hideki Okatani Vs Yuya Koroku though.

I thought I blogged about this already but I didn’t. DDT and Tokyo Joshi Pro are getting a match each on Keiji Muto’s retirement show at the Tokyo Dome next week. It will no doubt be the biggest wrestling event taking place in Japan this year. DDT’s match pits The 37KAMIINA against Endo and the three young wrestlers who best represents DDT’s future. TJPW are grouping together their four pillars to take on the generation tier that are right below them.

DDT “DDT YOKOHAMA UNLIMITED VOL. 2”, 04/03/2023
Yokohama Radiant Hall

1. Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title – Battle Royal: Saki Akai (c) Vs X
2. Special Tag Match: Yuji Hino & Yukio Sakaguchi Vs 26/2 Main Event Winner & D GENERATIONS CUP Winner

By the time February is over either HARASHIMA or Yukio Naya will be the No. 1 Contender for the KO-D Openweight Title. Once March begins the No. 1 Contender will begin facing off with Yuji Hino to build up their title match on the 21st. Whoever wins the D GENERATIONS CUP will also get bumped up the card too with a chance to fight both Hino & Sakaguchi in this tag match.

Saki Akai has been doing a good job keeping the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title in her grasp. She hasn’t been pinned or submitted since winning the title back in November.

TOKYO JOSHI PRO “TJPW LIVE IN LOS ANGELES”, 31/03/2023

5. Special 6-Man Tag Match: Yukio Sakaguchi, Hideki Okatani & Hikaru Machida defeated MAO, Yuki Ueno & Kazuki Hirata when Machida pinned Hirata with the Iai Punch (11:26).
6. Burlesque Death Match: Sanshiro Takagi defeated Shunma Katsumata with the Stone Cold Stunner (9:02).
7. Harimao Vs DAMNATION T.A!: Kazusada Higuchi & Ryota Nakatsu defeated MJ Paul & KANON when Higuchi pinned Paul with a Lariat (10:20).
8. Special Tag Match: HARASHIMA & Yukio Naya defeated Yuji Hino & Makoto Oishi when Naya pinned Oishi with the Back Drop (14:37).

A Block

1. Hideki Okatani (4)
-. Yuya Koroku (4)
3. Ilusion (0)
-. Kazuma Sumi (0)

B Block

1. Toi Kojima (4)
2. Keigo Nakamura (2)
-. Takeshi Masada (2)
4. Yuki Ishida (0)

The was a little bit of dissension between HARASHIMA & Yukio Naya in the main event but it was only out of competition. HARASHIMA gave Makoto Oishi a Soccer Kick early in the match. Naya then stepped in, said his kick is better and demonstrated it by giving his own Soccer Kick to Oishi. Their little back and forth was interrupted by Yuji Hino who threw them around with his power. Naya got back to fighting Oishi and won by pinning him with the Back Drop. After the match Hino said no matter who becomes the No. 1 Contender he is looking forward to defending the KO-D Openweight Title against either of them. HARASHIMA guaranteed he will be the challenger at DDT’s 26th Anniversary show. Naya said he will definitely surpass both HARASHIMA and Yukio Naya soon enough!

Members of DAMNATION T.A can rest a bit easy now that Daisuke Sasaki has reappeared in public this week. KANON & MJ Paul had a bad day anyway because they lost to Kazusada Higuchi and Harimao’s newest member Ryota Nakatsu. This was Nakatsu’s first match with the unit so he borrowed Naomi Yoshimura’s Harimao shirt for the ocassion even though it was one size too big for him.

The preview of the upcoming KO-D Tag Team Titles match between Shunma Katsumata and Sanshiro Takagi took an expected direction followed by an unexpected one. The expected was weapons being brought into the ring and used by both wrestlers. It was allowed because both men agreed to fight in a Burlesque Death Match where they were allowed to do whatever they want whenever burlesque music was heard. The unexpected was the music glitched out and was suddenly replaced with Yuki “Sexy” Iino’s theme, causing Iino to run in and attack Takagi! Katsumata tried to take advantage but it backfired when Takagi threw him face first into Iino’s backside. Takagi then pinned him with the Stunner. Takagi told Katsumata that there will be proper burlesque dancers at their Tag Title match on 23rd February where Bonno Dai Shacho will become the new champions!

After winning their 6-Man Tag Match, Yukio Sakaguchi & Hikaru Machida agreed to continue teaming together so they can challenge for the KO-D Tag Titles. It was confirmed they will get a shot of the belts on 26th February, three days after ShunMao’s defence against Bonno Dai Shacho at the burlesque club.

Akito gave fans a demonstration of the Master Of Environment Match he will be having against Jun Akiyama on 18th February. He attached a green rope from one side of the ring across the middle to the other side. Akito rolled up Akiyama in a Cradle and placed his feet on the rope for extra leverage to get a nearfall. The rope was then removed for the rest of the match to go ahead.

The D GENERATIONS CUP is heading towards the finish line with a few contenders in both blocks still in the race. Takeshi Masada scored his first points by beating Yuki Ishida with the Samurai Driver ’01. Toi Kojima takes the leading spot in the B Block by beating Keigo Nakamura. Lastly, Yuya Koroku has now caught up to Hideki Okatani in the A Block after his win over Ilusion.

For some reason the dark match began two days ago and was already 29 hours deep when fans started entering the venue. When they got to ringside they saw Iino, Danshoku “Dandy” Dieno, Toru Owashi and the referee all asleep in the ring while a tired Antonio Honda was meditating. The match continued despite everyone involved being exhausted. Some of them ended up sleepwalking around ringside only to climb back in at the count of 19. Honda tripped over the rope getting into the ring, which led to him telling a Gongitsune joke for the 102nd time. He fell asleep halfway through so Iino put him in a modified Cross Armbreaker that involves the arm bending over his backside. Honda gave up and the match finally ended after 30 hours of non-stop gripping excitement.

It is an emergency system that will be installed into the wrestling ring for this exploding death match. When the system’s button is pressed, a countdown will begin warning the residents of Tsurumi that a missile is about to be launched into the ring! When the missile hits its target there will be a massive explosion.

Manase Injured, GanJo Restart Going Ahead

February 6, 2023

GANBARE☆JOSHI “GANJO RESTART ’23”, 01/04/2023
Yokohama Radiant Hall

A press conference was held by Ganbare☆Pro today for Yuna Manase with Ken Ohka and Michiyoshi Mishima also in attendance. It was to announce that Manase will be out of action for the time being in order to get knee surgery. She revealed she’s been dealing with a ruptured ACL and also a damaged meniscus in her left leg. The origin of the injury happened two years ago but Manase refused to get surgery at the time. Ganbare☆Joshi had begun running shows that year and she wanted to be part of them. Taking a long time off to heal her injury was an unnecessary option and she does not regret her decision. Last Autumn she noticed the pain in her knees was rising higher and consulted with everyone in the company over what to do. She continued to wrestle because it was at the time when she was getting so many opportunities everywhere from fighting in a Spirit Of Ganbare Title match to wrestling in other promotions like Ice Ribbon and Marvelous. Over the new year her doctor told her the knee was in worse condition and she needed to get the surgery. He was also sympathetic to Manase and told her “you did your best.” There is no timetable for Manase’s return but once she gets the surgery she thinks it will be about 10 months before she can start rehabbing her knee.

Ohka was full of praise for Manase’s fighting spirit and being part of Ganpro’s family. He knows she will be back in the ring some day and everyone will be there to support her. A reporter asked Mishima if the announcement will effect the GanJo division. Mishima said the all women GanJo show they announced at the end of last year was originally going to take place this month but then Manase’s situation came up. They also found out HARUKAZE’s schedule outside of pro wrestling (she is part of a comedy duo called Never Give Up) has gotten busier. She told them she prefers to be on the regular GanPro shows whenever she is available because she wants to fight men as well as women. So GanJo will become a blank slate because its two main characters are missing and they will wait for Manase’s return to restart it.

At that moment the press conference was suddenly interrupted by YuuRI and Yoshiko Hasegawa. With Manase out of action, the two of them asked if they could carry GanJo in her place? They both have not been wrestling for long but they want to protect GanPro and keep the flame of GanJo burning for Manase to return. Ohka told them it is not easy to produce a wrestling show by themselves but he was able to do it for the very first GanPro event with just 15,000 yen. He is happy to see YuuRI & Hasegawa doing whatever they can to help and told them the relaunch show will go ahead! Mishima decided the show will take place in Yokohama Radiant Hall on 1st April because GanPro already had the venue reserved for that date. It is now up to YuuRI & Hasegawa to put it all together!

The final preliminary tag match between Kazusada Higuchi and Yuji Hino ended with Higuchi getting his hand raised as the winner. Earlier in the show both wrestlers participated in a contract signing ceremony and gave their comments for the KO-D Openweight Title match on 29th January. Hino said he wants the match to show off the greatness of DDT’s heavyweight division. Higuchi said it will be a match only the two of them will do and it there will be a clear winner coming out of it. After the main event Higuchi told Hino he is protecting the KO-D Title with his entire body and soul.

When Jun Akiyama holds the DDT Extreme Title, the championship is no laughing matter. The belt was on the line in a first to three falls Monoboke Death Match. Every time Antonio Honda kicked out of a pin or caused a rope break he was given a chance to make Akiyama laugh. Do it three times and he will win the match. Akiyama had to beat Honda by regular means three times in order to win, which was easy because he immediately pinned Honda with a Small Package when the match began. Honda brought along a box filled with costumes to do impressions with. He was pinned again with an Exploder Suplex but finally made Akiyama laugh after telling a joke about nipples. That was the only joy he got because Akiyama put him straight into a Front Neck Lock and made Honda submit for the last fall to give Akiyama the win.

After the match Akito challenged Akiyama to a title match. He pointed out that Akiyama has been defending the title against previous champions so Akito wants to be next in line. He even offered to come up with the match stipulation himself. Akito also wants to return the belt back to the purple strap if he can win it. Akiyama accepted and the match will go ahead in Nagoya on 18th February.

BURNING and Pheromones had a couple of matches against each other today in the build up to their KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles match at the end of the month. The matches became heated when Yuki Iino discovered at the start of the show that Tetsuya Endo had stolen his O-back! It had an effect on their matches because Yusuke Okada and Danshoku Dieno fought each other with no care over their fight being called off by the referee. Dieno ended up winning when Iino flashed Okada for a distraction, allowing Dieno to give Okada a Low Blow and then a School Boy. Endo got revenge after the match by stripping Iino completely naked!

Iino later returned in his usual wrestling gear for the revenge match against Endo. Dieno had warned everyone that because Endo still had possession of the O-back, Iino was going commando! This time Okada interfered in the match causing a ref bump to Yukinori Matsui. Iino was stripped naked again but Dieno grabbed the O-back and gave it back to him. Endo knocked Iino face down onto the canvas and climbed the turnbuckle to set up the Burning Star Press. Dieno then handed the O-back to Endo and Matsui regained consciousness. He saw Iino was completely naked with Endo holding his costume and disqualified Endo thinking he stripped his opponent! Dieno then got Endo in a Lip Lock and Stunner for good measure. A Pheromones made their exit, Dieno told everyone “This is the way of Kotaro Suzuki!” They spent the backstage interview blaming everything that happened today on Suzuki and he will pay for it on 29th January.
