There are two strong opponents who Masato Kamino lost to in singles matches last year that he wants to fight again. They are Daisuke Sekimoto & Kuma Arashi. Kamino wants to settle the score in one match so he asked BASARA to bring them back together as a tag team for him to fight. Kamino also decided he won’t team with Takato Nakano because they will soon fight each other for the Union MAX Title. Instead, Ryota Nakatsu will be Kamino’s partner for this match.

It’s Royal Rumble season so add BASARA to the growing list of companies that are doing their own version of the match this year.

According to both DDT and Gringo Loco he has defended the DDT Universal Title twice in North America. One was in Canada for Demand Lucha and I cannot for the life of me find where or when the second one took place. For his third defence he is nominating Yuki Ueno because he stands out the most to Loco. It will be Loco’s first time defending the title in Japan.

Danshoku Dieno made the decision to defend the DDT Extreme Title against Gorgeous Matsuno because he does not know if they will ever get another chance to do the match. Matsuno is still known to the public for a public divorce he went through in the 1990s where he was accused by his wife at the time of abuse. The divorce was finalised but it was also ruled by the court that there was no evidence to support the accusation. Dieno only knows Matsuno through his wrestling career and feels the need to have a heart to heart match while he still holds the Extreme Title. Dieno also wants a contract signed that says no one will be responsible for anything that happens in the ring during the match.

There are also joshi wrestlers from the mixed companies like GLEAT, P.P.P. TOKYO, 2AW and Asuka Pro. In the main event Yuna Manase gets her rematch with MICHIKO with the Kitsune World Title once again on the line.

HARUKAZE will not be wrestling at the show because of her busy schedule. However she will try to get there by rushing to the venue as soon as her other scheduled event is over.

DDT “NEW YEAR’S☆DOTABA FESTIVAL 2025”, 13/01/2025

1. Yasutaka Oosera & Yuya Koroku defeated Yukio Naya & Yuki Ishida when Koroku submitted Ishida with the Chickenwing Arm Lock (11:35).
2. Special Single Match: Danshoku Dieno defeated Carnatux with a School Boy (5:13).
3. KANON, MJ Paul & Ilusion defeated To-y, Toru Owashi & Kazuma Sumi when Ilusion pinned Sumi with the Swanton Bomb (10:00).
4. Special Tag Match: Jun Akiyama & Yuki Iino defeated Antonio Honda & Takeshi Masada when Iino pinned Masada with the BURNING Elbow Drop (13:19).
5. Special Single Match ~ Admiral-Lord Mountevans Rules: Chris Brookes defeated Akito by Disqualification (R3 2:30).
6. The 37KAMIINA Vs DAMNATION T.A!: Yuki Ueno & MAO defeated Daisuke Sasaki & Demus when Ueno pinned Demus with the Jul.2 (18:53).

Today was Demus’s last match of this tour and it turns out he will be missed by more than just his allies in DAMNATION T.A. When the match was over Demus said his goodbyes to the audience in Japanese but was stopped by Yuki Ueno from leaving the ring. Ueno told him whenever he meets somebody as amazing as Demus, it makes him want to go out into the world.

Akito felt his match with Chris Brookes needed a special rule to make up for the fact it was a non-title bout. Since Brookes is from England, Akito decided the match would be held under Admiral-Lord Mountevans Rules. The main rule is a wrestler would be disqualified if they get caught fouling their opponent three times. The fouls included minor offences such as holding onto a rope break for too long or jumping off the turnbuckles. Daisuke Kiso was briefly knocked out which caused the wrestlers to ignore the rules for a bit. Brookes placed Akito on the top turnbuckle but Akito stopped him from doing any top rope moves. When Kiso regained consciousness he saw Akito on the top rope, assumed he was about to do a jumping attack and disqualified him for what turned out to be his third foul.

For religious reasons Match #2 was held under No Sexual Rules. That meant Danshoku Dieno was not allowed to use any of his lewd wrestling moves against Carnatux. However he figured out a loophole. Attacks to the backside were banned but attacks using your own backside against the opponent were legal. Dieno went for the Lip Lock anyway but missed and got Yukinori Matsui by mistake. Carnatux had Dieno beaten after that but Matsui was in no state to count the pin. When Carnatux went to revive him, Dieno gave him a Low Blow and got the 3 Count with a School Boy.

HARASHIMA missed this show too because of his fever. There was a slight change to the card and Yasutaka Oosera from Michinoku Pro was booked to take part in the opening match.

DDT “OTOSHI-NAGE 2025” Results

2. KANON defeated Kazuma Sumi with the Sleepy Hollow (8:45).
3. Daisuke Sasaki, MJ Paul & Ilusion defeated Akito, Kohei Kinoshita & Yuya Koroku when Sasaki submitted Koroku with the Crossface Lock (10:45).
4. Special Single Match: Demus defeated Antonio Honda with an Inside Cradle (12:10).
5. Yuki Ueno, MAO & To-y defeated Jun Akiyama, Yuki Iino & Keigo Nakamura when To-y pinned Nakamura with the Kojima Impact (13:49).
6. Special Tag Match: Chris Brookes & Takeshi Masada defeated Danshoku Dieno & Yukio Naya when Brookes pinned Dieno with the Danshoku Praying Mantis Bomb (21:10).

HARASHIMA was pulled from today’s show on short notice due to a fever so Yukio Naya replaced him in the main event. This gave Chris Brookes a chance to experiment his game plan against Shuji Ishikawa by wrestling the similarly sized Naya in his place. He and Takeshi Masada took Naya out of the ring, taped him to a nearby cart and wheeled him into an empty storage room beneath the stage. Naya was able to free himself and return to the match but Brookes went on to beat Danshoku Dieno. He used a Danshoku version of the Praying Mantis Bomb to pin him. During the match Brookes was tricked into giving Masada the Lip Lock. After the match he complained about Masada’s breath and asked him what he ate today?

As the D GENERATIONS CUP draws nearer, To-y looks to be gaining the most momentum going into it. He pinned Keigo Nakamura in what could be a potential preview of the tournament final if things go both their ways. To-y used this victory to declare that when he wins the tournament, he will go on to win the KO-D Openweight Title. Then DDT will become Dramatic Dream Toy! MAO ended up getting confused at the start of this match because he couldn’t tell if the “Yuki” chants were for Yuki Ueno or Yuki Iino.

The language barrier got in the way between Antonio Honda and Demus. Honda struggled to get his Gongitsune joke going but Demus surprised everyone by singing the Miyuki Nakajima song “Tapestry” in response.

Kohei Kinoshita was called in at the last minute to take Naya’s place in Match #3.

3. Special Single Match: To-y defeated Tomomitsu Matsunaga with the Kojima Impact (10:09).
4. KOTATSU FIGHTING! Special 6-Man Tag Match: Danshoku Dieno, Yuki Ueno & Jun Akiyama defeated Makoto Oishi, Soma Takao & Antonio Honda when Ueno pinned Honda with a Kotatsu-Style Samson Clutch (14:09).
5. Special Single Match: MAO defeated Kazuma Sumi with the Iai Kick (13:55).
6. Special 6-Man Tag Match: Shuji Ishikawa, HARASHIMA & Akito defeated Chris Brookes, Masahiro Takanashi & Takeshi Masada when Ishikawa pinned Takanashi with the Splash Mountain (20:00).

The size and power of Shuji Ishikawa is something SCHADENFREUDE International couldn’t beat today. Having HARASHIMA & Akito by Ishikawa’s side helped too but the key moment happened when he blocked the Praying Mantis Bomb and then Back Body Dropped Chris Brookes into his own partners. He then pinned Masahiro Takanashi with the Splash Mountain. Ishikawa told the fans he was advised by one of the referees not to sing today if he won. His desire to sing along with his desire to beat Brookes are what powered him up today. He also decided to call his team Smile Squash 2025. Both HARASHIMA & Akito were just as suprised as everyone else when he said that. Backstage Antonio Honda told Brookes if he can overcome Ishikawa he will become an even better KO-D Openweight Champion. Meanwhile Takeshi Masada promised to win the D GENERATIONS CUP for the second time.

The night before this show MAO asked the Grok AI program to predict how his match with Kazuma Sumi would turn out. He was left confused when the AI said he had a finishing move called the Ultra Big Tone. MAO was able to win the match but didn’t use that move because he doesn’t know what it is. He can kind of picture it though so it is now up to him to figure out what the Ultra Big Tone will be! To-y wonders if it involves a destructive ray of some kind? Sumi said there is still a week to go before the KO-D Tag Team Titles match so if there is even a 1% chance he can beat MAO he will take that chance.

It was a cold day so two kotatsu tables were set up in the ring for Match #4. The wrestlers who would usually stand in their corner waiting to tag in were instead allowed to sit under their kotatsu. Eventually the tables and covers were used as weapons as the match heated up. Yuki Ueno ended up using a Samson Clutch on Honda to pin him beneath one of the tables to win the match. With this match Ueno learned that a kotatsu can calm the mind but it also lowers your fighting ability. He also blamed Jun Akiyama for breaking one of the tables.

Takeshita’s Tokyo Dome Adventure

What a newsworthy weekend Konosuke Takeshita has had! He went into the Tokyo Dome for New Japan’s biggest show of the year ready to defend his AEW International Title. He came out of it still with the belt, gaining another championship and making a pretty important announcement about where his future belongs to.


NJPW “WRESTLE KINGDOM 19 IN TOKYO DOME”, 04/01/2025

1. NEVER Openweight Title & AEW International Title: KONOSUKE TAKESHITA (I/c) defeated Shingo Takagi (N/c) with the Raging Fire (11:42).
*V5 for KONOSUKE TAKESHITA. Shingo Takagi fails in V2. Becomes the 47th/11th Champion!

On the Saturday Takeshita went into a double title match putting his AEW title on the line against Shingo Takagi and his NEVER Openweight Title. The winner would not only have two championships but would also face Tomohiro Ishii in the Dome the next day. So Ishii made it a priority to sit at ringside to watch this match up close. Takeshita tried to weaken the arm Takagi prefers to use the Pumping Bomber with but he never expected Takagi to pull out a Reverse Frankensteiner. However Takeshita was too tough to put down and he won by using the Raging Fire. He held both belts up high while staring down Ishii after the match.

Backstage Takeshita said he always thought Takagi was strong but he was able to beat him on the biggest stage. When he fights Ishii he will show him the pride of AEW as well as give him the fight of a NEVER Champion. He will attack Ishii with 120% of his strength! Takagi said he couldn’t remember what happened in the match other than he lost to Takeshita in under 15 minutes. Ishii meanwhile dared Takeshita to throw all of his strikes at him tomorrow.

1. NEVER Openweight Title & AEW International Title: KONOSUKE TAKESHITA (c/c) defeated Tomohiro Ishii with the Raging Fire (13:30).
*V1 for NEVER Openweight Title. V6 for AEW International Title.

The next day Takeshita defended both of his championships against Ishii at the Dome. Ishii provoked Takeshita into hitting him with Elbow Strikes then fought back by throwing Chops towards the throat. Then the two started hitting big bombs on each other resulting in a double down. Ishii switched to throwing Headbutts while Takeshita fought back by using Brainbusters and a Reverse Frankensteiner. He was able to hit the Raging Fire and that was enough to put Ishii away for a successful double title defence.

After the match backstage Takeshita had good news to tell the wrestling media. Right now he is currently affiliated with DDT and AEW. Well now he made a deal with New Japan to work for all three companies at the same time! His goal is to unify the pro wrestling world and he will do that by walking a path nobody else has taken before. He then said his upcoming plans are to defend the International Title in AEW again while defending the NEVER Title at New Japan’s USA shows. He singled out KUSHIDA as somebody he would like to defend the NEVER Title against because he is another wrestler who is well-travelled. However when he finished his interview Oleg Boltin walked in and gave him a stare down.


According to Takaaki Kidani through quotes taken from a Tokyo Sports article, Takeshita might have signed a one year contract with New Japan while continuing his current deals with DDT and AEW. Kidani said AEW’s light match schedule makes it possible for Takeshita to wrestle in New Japan more often so if he wants to become a mainstay for the company it can happen. Dave Meltzer on today’s Wrestling Observer Radio explained that AEW is still his priority whenever they want to use him. He also expects AEW and NJPW will keep in touch with each other to avoid any scheduling conflicts. I see DDT as the third wheel in this deal but Takeshita’s appearances for the company have dwindled down to single digits per year so it shouldn’t be too hard to get him for the important shows.

This time however it is TJPW starring in the sequel, although Takagi will still be involved with producing the event. This time it will be a bigger match on a longer journey. The train ride will go from Tokyo to Shin-Osaka with an estimated travel time of 2 hours and 27 minutes. Its top speed will be 285km so just imagine a Skull Kick, Whirling Candy, Giant Swing or Goodnight Express going at that kind of speed!
