Four teams remain and after next weekend they will be down to two. Yuki Kamifuku & Wakana Uehara are bonding together with a “Ayase Town Hills New Hills” style and had a much easier time in the 2nd Round than they did in the 1st. The difficulty level for them has ramped way back up because their next opponents are Pompaler. The tactic of Max The Impaler throwing Pom Harajuku at the nearest opponent hasn’t been beat yet in the tournament so far. Kyoraku Kyomei are one step away from reaching the final for a second time. However Shoko Nakajima & Hyper Misao know full well not to let their guards down now, especially after HIMAWARI & Shino Suzuki scored a little bit of an upset to reach this far.
It didn’t take long for the newcomer Mifu Ashida to be thrown into the ring with Mizuki. The champ needs some fresh meat.

Chris Brookes has figured out he cannot become stronger than Shuji Ishikawa, but he can become more handsome than his challenger. He has been taking care of his face by wearing face masks every day until the show takes place. He also promised to win the match so Ishikawa will not sing karaoke in Korakuen Hall again.
Only a one count will be needed to win the DDT Extreme Title match. Danshoku Dieno came up with the idea because he wants to see Gorgeous Matsuno fight with all of his might. The most important thing in life is the next second in front of you. A person’s experience does not matter if they don’t make the most of that second.

The schedule for this year’s D GENERATIONS CUP has been released. Not only that but the date for the winner’s prize is now known too. The tournament champion will get a KO-D Openweight Title match in April!
Every block match has a 15 minute time limit. The final will have no time limit. Wins are worth 2 points, losses are worth 0 points and most kind of draws are worth 1 point. Any match that ends in a Double Countout or a No Contest will result in both wrestlers getting 0 points. Head-to-head results will be used as a tiebreaker but if that does not work then a sudden death playoff will go ahead.

There are two strong opponents who Masato Kamino lost to in singles matches last year that he wants to fight again. They are Daisuke Sekimoto & Kuma Arashi. Kamino wants to settle the score in one match so he asked BASARA to bring them back together as a tag team for him to fight. Kamino also decided he won’t team with Takato Nakano because they will soon fight each other for the Union MAX Title. Instead, Ryota Nakatsu will be Kamino’s partner for this match.
It’s Royal Rumble season so add BASARA to the growing list of companies that are doing their own version of the match this year.

According to both DDT and Gringo Loco he has defended the DDT Universal Title twice in North America. One was in Canada for Demand Lucha and I cannot for the life of me find where or when the second one took place. For his third defence he is nominating Yuki Ueno because he stands out the most to Loco. It will be Loco’s first time defending the title in Japan.
Danshoku Dieno made the decision to defend the DDT Extreme Title against Gorgeous Matsuno because he does not know if they will ever get another chance to do the match. Matsuno is still known to the public for a public divorce he went through in the 1990s where he was accused by his wife at the time of abuse. The divorce was finalised but it was also ruled by the court that there was no evidence to support the accusation. Dieno only knows Matsuno through his wrestling career and feels the need to have a heart to heart match while he still holds the Extreme Title. Dieno also wants a contract signed that says no one will be responsible for anything that happens in the ring during the match.

It is a co-branded show with Kitsune and will feature wrestlers from several different joshi promotions like WAVE, DIANA, Ice Ribbon, PURE-J and Prominence. There are also joshi wrestlers from the mixed companies like GLEAT, P.P.P. TOKYO, 2AW and Asuka Pro. In the main event Yuna Manase gets her rematch with MICHIKO with the Kitsune World Title once again on the line.
HARUKAZE will not be wrestling at the show because of her busy schedule. However she will try to get there by rushing to the venue as soon as her other scheduled event is over.

This weekend is the beginning of Tokyo Joshi Pro’s annual Max Heart Tournament. Just like last year the reigning Princess Tag Team Champions are not taking part. Maki Itoh is off touring with GCW again but Miyu Yamashita should be around for non-tournament matches. Mizuki has decided not to participate in this year’s event because she wants to focus on her Princess Of Princess Title reign. In a similar vein Rika Tatsumi will not enter the tournament either because she wants to prepare for her Princess Title shot against Mizuki set for March. That means when this tournament begins Kyoraku Kyomei will become the only team that has entered together for every year. Will this finally be the year they win it?

Its top speed will be 285km so just imagine a Skull Kick, Whirling Candy, Giant Swing or Goodnight Express going at that kind of speed!

For the third year in a row DDT is holding the D GENERATIONS CUP, a tournament to determine the strongest wrestler among the company’s young generation. This time the tournament will go back to being a round robin like in the first year. There will be two blocks of four and the winners of each block will meet in the final. The winner of this year’s tournament will be given a KO-D Openweight Title shot in the future. Details on the match schedule along with any other tournament rules will be announced as soon as they are decided on.

NOAH “NEW YEAR REBOOT 2025”, 02/01/2025

3. Tetsuya Endo defeated Atsushi Kotoge with the Burning Star Press (14:16).
There was another Tetsuya Endo appearance in NOAH today and we all learned he is going to make many more this year. After the confrontation he had with Atsushi Kotoge in Budokan Hall yesterday, NOAH booked them in a singles match today. Endo used the Exploder Suplex and then the Torture Rack Bomb on Kotoge before finishing him off with the Burning Star Press. After the match Endo greeted the NOAH fans and explained to them the BURNING unit in DDT that connects him to Jun Akiyama and Kenta Kobashi. In order to get further in touch with the origins of BURNING, Endo has decided he will spend 2025 wrestling in NOAH!
His ultimate goal is to win the GHC Heavyweight Title but he will have his eye on winning all of the championships available to him in NOAH. He later proved this by coming out to challenge Manabu Soya for the GHC National Championship after Soya won his latest title defence. Soya scalded Endo for approaching him because Soya normally decides by himself who he wants his next challenger to be. He also does not know what BURNING means because “Passion” is more his thing. Endo later defended himself because in DDT it’s normal for wrestlers to confront champions and challenge them. You can’t get to the top by being a good boy so if Endo has to break the rules to get what he wants in NOAH then he’ll do it.
DDT later announced that Endo will be wrestling on the 3rd and 5th January shows. After that he will be taking an indefinite leave from the promotion in order to take on a regular schedule with NOAH. The way DDT talks about it sounds like it’s an idea Endo wanted to do. So I don’t know if we have a trade coming up and tomorrow somebody from NOAH will jump over to DDT.

It’s about time a move like this is happening yet I’m still surprised they’re finally going through with it. Endo has pretty much done it all in DDT across his almost 13 year career and DDT should be doing talent exchanges with NOAH through their CyberFight connection more often to freshen up both rosters. Endo already has a good link to fit him in with NOAH from the get go because of his association with Akiyama and Kobashi in recent years. Given his workout habits he will likely bounce back and forth between heavyweight and Jr. heavyweight throughout the year. While I would be thrilled to see him win a championship over there I’m not expecting him to beat Soya for the National Title. At least not the first time around. So is this it for Endo and DDT? It’s possible the indefinite absence can turn into a permanent transfer in a year or so. I’ll keep an eye on how he does over there and post about any big matches or achievements that comes his way.

After a hard fought Asian Double Titles match, Yuki Kamifuku took a liking to Lei Ying Lee and decided she wants to team up with her.

During the Princess Rumble Raku accidentally eliminated Aja Kong from the match by hugging her and then having everyone else pile on top of them. Kong will now be facing Raku in a 6-Woman Tag Match but Raku has the rest of Love Triangle looking out for her. Or they should be as long as they’re not scared of fighting Kong.
This is not the full card for the Ittenyon show. Tokyo Joshi Pro want to have either 9 or 10 matches in total so expect one more update to announce the remaining bouts.

For the third year in a row a new Spirit Of Ganbare World Champion has been crowned at the promotion’s final show of the year! Keisuke Ishii had carried the title from the start of Ganbare☆Pro’s independence but today it finally ended by the hands of Yumehito Imanari. Or arms to be exact because Imanari kept hitting Lariat after Lariat until Ishii could no longer fight back. Eventually Imanari hit the move enough times to pin the champion and win the belt. Imanari couldn’t help but cry tears of joy and be thankful for what happened after such a challenging year for the company. GanPro will keep working hard on the road to their Korakuen Hall show celebrating their 12th anniversary on 11th April next year. Backstage Imanari named Yasu Urano as someone he wants to defend the title against. He wants to get revenge for Urano beating him with a Headlock back in 2017.
Dick Togo wasn’t here to pal around with anyone. When his match with Shuichiro Katsumura began he gave him the middle finger instead of a handshake. This wasn’t the House Of Torture version of Togo though. He and Katsumura gave everyone a wrestling match that went back and forth. Katsumura thought he got the upper hand when he rolled on top of a Crossface to pin Togo for a nearfall. But Togo kicked out, went on the counter attack and pinned his opponent with a Jackknife Pin. Katsumura was feeling both frustration and happiness after the match because he wrestled someone he looks up to. He didn’t win but he did feel like he returned to his route today. His goal now is to become the kind of wrestler young fighters will want to challenge. He also accepts that he can’t reach the same level of the main event anymore but he can be happy being a semi-main event wrestler from now on.
Yuna Manase had a grand vision in mind for her Kitsune World Title reign but sadly MICHIKO stopped it before it could even get off the ground. Manase ran in for a Lariat only to get knocked off her feet with an Elbow Strike. MICHIKO then dropped her with the Tombstone Piledriver to become the new champion. But before MICHIKO could leave the ring to celebrate, YuuRI approached her and signaled to everyone that she wants a title shot. MICHIKO told reporters that this is her first ever singles championship and she is happy to win it for GLEAT. She already knows Ganbare☆Joshi and Kitsune will be co-promoting a show in Shin-Kiba 1st RING on 13th January. She wants Manase to know they can have a rematch with or without the title sometime but she’s not sure if she will be available on that date yet. The result gave Manase bad memories because she also lost the International Princess Title in Tokyo Joshi Pro on her first defence. She promises to get the Kitsune Title back and won’t be happy if YuuRI wins it first!
Both Mizuki Watase and Shinichiro Tominaga greeted the fans at the start of the show. The two of them are currently out of action with the same injury but at opposite ends of recovery. Tominaga is almost healed from his ruptured Achilles tendon and will have his return match on 13th January. Watase only just recently suffered the same injury but according to his doctor he is recovering four times faster than a patient normally would.
