Remember that storyline from a year ago about Miu Watanabe is a monster rather than a princess? Yeah, that monster is slowly crawling out of the abyss as the tension between her and Yuki Arai is growing thicker. Watanabe made Arai submit to the Canadian Backbreaker to win today’s main event and then raised the Princess Of Princess Title belt over her head in victory. Arai tried to strike Watanabe in retaliation but she was easily knocked away and her team had to leave the ring before things escalated. Watanabe changed back to her normal bubbly self to close out the show and mistakenly said “GRAND PRINCESS ’26” was happening on 9th March before correcting herself with the right date of the 29th. Backstage Arai told her team that today’s loss really hurt her and her back is in a lot of pain from taking the Canadian Backbreaker. She’ll have to recover in time for the next warm up match for Sumo Hall.

A falling out almost happened between Rika Tatsumi, Raku & Pom Harajuku over the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title. Raku & Harajuku wanted to win the title and Tatsumi lost her temper at them. Mifu Ashida urged them with her cheerleading to make up. Yuki Kamifuku went and won the match for her team then spoke with Wakana Uehara backstage about their next Princess Tag Team Titles defence. They are surprised and excited to be facing The IInspiration and want them to learn a list of words for when they come to Japan. “Wabi-sabi, Omotenashi, Ober Eats.” “Sushi, Ramen, Ober Eats.” “Pokémon, Hello Kitty, Ober Eats.” “Tempura, Sukiyakai, Ober Eats.” “Toyota, Nissan, Ober Eats.” “Mochi, Tofu, Ober Eats.”

On this day 11 years ago Hyper Misao had her debut match. She wanted to start things fresh today and asked for her 3 Way Match to be changed into Uta Takami versus Kira Summer in a singles bout with Misao facing the winner. The other two decided against it and attacked her to ensure it stayed every girl for herself.

They have been enemies in DDT for a long time but it’s been 17 years since their last singles match against each other apparently. Super Japan gets the honour of reviving the matchup.

Super Japan is also pitting their ace Yuji Nagata against Fuminori Abe in a first time singles bout. They’ve already wrestled each other in two of the previous three Super Japan shows.

Just when the mystery was getting good, the perpetrator has come out and admitted the crime. The indy wrestling outfit New Nemuro Pro Wrestling sent a video to TJPW taking the credit for stealing Mizuki’s Pico Pico Hammer while leaving behind an American flag as a red herring. New Nemuro’s most famous wrestler Andreza Giant Panda was memorably hit over the head by Mizuki with her hammer back in 2024 in a moment that went viral across the internet due to how photogenic it was. Andreza was left humiliated by what happened and Shin Nemuro felt that their reputation was tarnished over it too. Ever since that moment Andreza had been waiting on an opportunity to get his revenge. Thus Mizuki’s hammer got stolen and Andreza has challenged her to a singles match at Sumo Hall!

TJPW Heading Back To Las Vegas This April

After last year’s success in Las Vegas, Tokyo Joshi Pro is going to do it all over again! They are returning to the Pearl Theater inside Palms Casino Resort to hold a big show during Wrestlemania Week.

The wrestlers from TJPW announced to take part in the show are Miu Watanabe, Yuki Kamifuku, Wakana Uehara, Miyu Yamashita, Shoko Nakajima, Mizuki, Hyper Misao, Raku, Yuki Aino, Suzume, Pom Harajuku, Yuki Arai, Kaya Toribami, Shino Suzuki, HIMAWARI, Toga and Uta Takami.

This time around TJPW are not running their show as part of The Collective. Instead they will be part of a new collection of events called Slam Fest that is being put together by the Paragon Talent Agency (remember Mojo Rawley? That’s his gig now). The other promotions involved in the series are CMLL, House Of Glory, Stardom and Maple Leaf Pro. According to the AXS Tickets page linked on the Palm Casino website, TJPW are also running a interpromotional show with CMLL and Maple Leaf Pro. That might be the weirdest combination of three wrestling companies to run an event together in quite some time.

However it was pointed out to me that TJPW are also scheduled to do a free meet and greet around the same time this super show is allegedly taking place. There might be a mix-up over what this event is meant to be.

UPDATE: The website has removed the link and now only refers to the event as a Meet & Greet.

So it actually is happening! For months now I’ve been going crazy hearing conflicting information over whether or not TJPW was going back to Las Vegas for Wrestlemania Week. The Collective accidentally linked them and DDT to their first announcement of their return to Vegas but quickly removed those links. Then The Collective revealed their lineup with no DDT or TJPW in sight. However a little while later I learned TJPW were still planning on going to Vegas, this time without GCW’s help. Doubts crept in when their other international tours were announced for March and April. Someone reached out to tell me the Texas tour was the only American visit TJPW had for the Springtime. That info was given to me before the Canadian tour was announced but it wasn’t contradictory nor do I think the person was trying to mislead me.

Yet there was still another side talking about TJPW being set for Vegas one way or another. Smoke to that fire started appearing when Toga was booked for Podermania. Miyu Yamashita was being booked for other shows too but she always goes working in America during this time of year. Toga however was out of the blue. Then the two of them along with Shoko Nakajima, Hyper Misao and Yuki Aino were announced for a WrestleCon convention appearance. By that point I knew there would be a show with TJPW attached to it taking place and just had to play the waiting game until it was officially announced. Finally the news came out today!

TJPW moving on from the GCW relationship doesn’t surprise me. I thought last year’s show was a success attendance wise but the big complaint coming out of it I kept hearing was GCW’s production values ruining the vibes for a lot of fans wanting an authentic TJPW experience. I didn’t have much of a problem with it myself (anyone there remember the “Candyman” rib? Good times) but I get it. The ring they used got worn down pretty bad during every show and if you watched the streams there was little to no variety in the presentation for every show. Also The Up Up Girls entering the Clusterfuck and having Kerry Morton shouting foul mouthed insults at them didn’t go down well with some fans online.

Now let’s have some fun speculating over how on earth this all happened. As much as WWE pulled the rug over everybody with their sudden WrestleMania location switcharoo, it seems that a lot of groups who were going to New Orleans were able to recover and change course back to Vegas. GCW and The Collective made it clear they weren’t using the Palms Casino again but I’d love to know if that was a decision they made of their own volition or if Paragon jumped in and got the venue for themselves first. Paragon did have their own wrestling related stuff going on in that casino last year, I remember that. Also we have TJPW and Stardom working under the same umbrella but being kept away from each other. It’s funny to see it just has to be that way. They are still linked through UJPW but again any hope for a crossover seems slim. There might also be a few awkward meetings if Maki Itoh is travelling over with the Stardom side. There is TJPW links to the other promotions thanks to Nakajima working with CMLL and Yamashita appearing in both HOG and MLP last year. So for a brand new collection TJPW has links with everyone else involved.

Each match will have a ten minute time limit. As best as I can tell, the winner of the one night round robin will be whoever has the highest score of total falls in all of their Iron Man matches combined. Given the show consists of ten Iron Man Matches that sounds like a nightmare to keep track of for one night.

The first two “URANO EN” events that Yasu Urano put together took place last year and were both Iron Man matches with Ikuto Hidaka and Akito respectively. The matches are on Minoru Fujita’s Youtube channel under the Live archive tab. I don’t think I’m going to follow this regularly unless BASARA continues to help promote it.

Well Super Sasadango Machine wishes CyberAgent would be that way for the likes of him and Danshoku Dieno! They need to make a convincing argument so they’ve challenged MAO & KANON for the KO-D Tag Team Titles. If they win the belts they hope it will raise their power within DDT to start making some business demands and turn the company towards the TGC and gacha industries.

It’s not Magnum TOKYO but we’re one step away from it. Kazuki Hirata is getting John Robinson, the DJ behind “TOKYO GO!” to perform the song live for his entrance!

Shunma Katsumata wants MAO to be his first opponent for his big return match. It’s a match MAO has wanted too because one of the reasons he left The 37KAMIINA was to become Katsumata’s opponent rather than his teammate.

His match hasn’t been announced yet but DDT’s newest signing Masami Inahata will debut on this show.

Earlier in the weekend Super Sasadango Machine sent a message to the ToJo Tokusatsu Club giving them more detailed instructions over the Super Sentai training they were tasked with doing. They were specifically told to take part in the “Fireball Return Training” that was seen in Episode 19 of Gekisou Sentai Carranger. The training hasn’t solved their problem of being unable to combine together successfully since neither Yuki Aino nor Haru Kazashiro have become strong enough to carry the others on top of their shoulders. Thankfully Aino was fired up by wrestling in her hometown and got her team the victory. She was happy the show got a full house today because Tokyo Joshi Pro usually comes to Okayama in January so she was worried the later date this year meant some fans who usually come to the shows wouldn’t appear. Shoko Nakajima called Okayama her second hometown because so many of her relatives live there. Kazashiro joked that Okayama is her third hometown next to the place where she was born and the place where she lives.

Tensions between Miu Watanabe and Yuki Arai is also firing up those two wrestlers and continues to reveal a more agressive side of Arai that hasn’t been seen before. The finish to the match had Mifu Ashida hold Watanabe back on the ring apron while Yuki Arai made Kira Summer tap out to the Scorpion Death Lock. But before Arai applied the move she shouted “I’m not giving up” and she refused to let go of the hold until the referee pulled her off of Summer. Backstage Arai said she wants to continue cherishing everything that is important to her but she also knows she may need to throw some of those things away in order to change what she needs to change. However Watanabe said nothing Arai did today has changed her expectations of her. There are two things in particular about Arai that she wants to explore before their Princess Of Princess Title match but they didn’t show up today. She won’t reveal what those two factors are until the next prelim match.

After yesterday’s show in Kobe, backstage shenanigans ended up with Rika Tatsumi winning the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title from Aja Kong. She is thinking about taking it all the way to Sumo Hall to defend the title there but is worried that Watanabe will want to take it off her before then. Watanabe assured Tatsumi that she will pass on any opportunity to take the belt from her. Summer also think she isn’t strong enough yet to beat Tatsumi and asked her to remain the champ until she is ready to challenge.

Hyper Misao’s pre-match promo had her talk about how great the Okayama delicacy kibidango is. According to her, many pro wrestlers eat kibidango to gain power before their matches. She & Shino Suzuki then ate some during their match to power themselves up into a frenzy. Mahiro Kiryu used her attacks to knock them back to their senses (and of course apologized to everyone afterwards). Suzume went on to win the match by pinning Suzuki with the Ring A Bell.

TJPW OG, Okayama local and Aino’s older sister Nodoka Tenma greeted everyone at the start of the show. She promoted the upcoming Gaisen Sakura Pro Wrestling show taking place on 11th April.

A mystery suddenly opened up backstage during the show. Mizuki’s Pico Pico Hammer was stolen by an unknown person and they removed the hammer head while leaving a small American flag next to the pole. Mizuki found the remains of the hammer with the flag alongside it and is currently wondering what could this mean?

Just like yesterday, parts of the undercard were changed around because Yuki Kamifuku was too sick to be at the show.

Up until a month ago Mizuki thought she would never main event a show in Kobe with Uta Takami as her tag partner. She is happy to have Miu Watanabe & Shino Suzuki as her opponents for Tokyo Joshi Pro’s final visit to Kobe Art Center. It is the last time because upcoming building renovations will make the venue unsuitable for holding wrestling shows once they’re completed (at least that’s according to Tetsuya Koda). Takami too was almost overwhelmed with emotion over it because she didn’t expect to get more chances to team with Mizuki after the Max Heart Tournament ended. Mizuki doesn’t know when TJPW will ever come back to Kobe so she wanted to create as many memories as she could today.

It’s been over four years since MIRAI and Suzume were last in the same match together. Today they were able to go back and forth in a preview of their International Princess Title match. Suzume had the advantage of being with her Daisy Monkey teammate Arisu Endo while MIRAI was teaming up with her previous challenger Toga for the first time. Daisy Monkey got the win after Double Dropkicking MIRAI, leaving Toga alone for Suzume to finish off. MIRAI said this will likely be the last preview before the title match due to her schedule elsewhere. She could tell some things about Suzume have changed since they last wrestled but there are other things that have stayed the same. The two have mixed feelings for each other that only they understand and MIRAI is determined not to lose the title to her. Toga was apologetic for losing today’s match and in response MIRAI offered her to be her ringside second for the title match. Toga agreed to do it if she is allowed to do so. Meanwhile Endo told Suzume she will always be by her side cheering her on. She wants her own feelings to be carried by Suzume in order to help her beat MIRAI for the title. Suzume said she will because she wants to fight Endo for the belt again some day in the future.

Yuki Kamifuku had to pull out of this weekend’s show after becoming sick. Two of the undercard matches had to be changed around to make up for her absence.

This will be the final time Tokyo Joshi Pro comes to Kobe Art Center. The venue will be going under changes and the planned finished layout is considered to be unsuitable for holding wrestling shows according to Tetsuya Koda. So in the future TJPW will be looking for another venue in Kobe to host Mizuki’s homecoming shows. Somehow I don’t expect the Ring Soul bar to be among the options.

The International Princess Title scene gathers together for an important preview match. The current champion MIRAI is hanging around for a while and is teaming with her previous challenger Toga. On the other team is MIRAI’s next challenger Suzume along with her Daisy Monkey partner and former champion Arisu Endo.

Well, Ober Eats said they wanted to face a tag team that are a big deal. They also said they want to have the best match on the show and er… yeah… it’s nice to want things. Anyway TJPW went and got The IInspiration to be Yuki Kamifuku & Wakana Uehara’s next challengers for the Princess Tag Team Titles. The Australian pair of Jessie McKay & Cassie Lee were known as The IIconics in WWE before going to TNA with the name change. They won the women’s tag team championships in both companies and just recently signed a deal with AEW so they match the requirements Ober Eats were looking for.

The mascot Minimo-chan spent Monday training with Mahiro Kiryu for its upcoming pro wrestling debut. Super Sasadango Machine gave Minimo-chan the task of learning a special move but Kiryu was sceptical over the mascot’s ability to wrestle. Minimo-chan proved her wrong by running the ropes, doing Wrist Locks and even performing a Side Thrust Kick to the ribs with ease. It then told Kiryu that with this kick it will win its debut match in Sumo Hall! An interview was held after training where Minimo-chan revealed it used to watch All Japan VHS tapes over and over until they all wore out. Its favorite wrestlers are Steve Williams, Doug Furnas and Dan Kroffat. Minimo-chan also aims to eventually fight for a championship!

How curious. The next TJPW Inspiration show will feature Rika Tatsumi, Mahiro Kiryu, Arisu Endo, Haru Kazashiro, Mifu Ashida, Kira Summer, Chika Nanase, Ren Konatsu and Shion Kanzaki on the card along with three guest wrestlers. While this is going on Miyu Yamashita, Shoko Nakajima, Hyper Misao, Yuki Aino and Toga will be in Las Vegas for Wrestlemania Weekend. Yamashita and Toga already have match bookings but the other three are so far only advertised for a meet and greet at WrestleCon. The mystery continues.

Hyper Misao went all out with her battle plan for the main event before Ober Eats & K!SS// made their entrances. She told Shoko Nakajima to blind Kaya Toribami by placing Raku’s sleep mask over her eyes while she and Raku wrap up Miyu Yamashita in Raku’s blanket. Then Ren Konatsu was told to place along a trail of bread from the ring to the locker room to lure Wakana Uehara out of the arena. That would leave Yuki Kamifuku alone to fight by herself and even then Misao planned to use her cape to cover over Kamiyu’s face. Kamiyu was stuck in a 1 Vs 4 situation until she successfully called Uehara back to the ring while K!SS// broke free of their traps. From there the match went into a more normal 4 Vs 4 layout and Ober Eats got the victory by trapping Konatsu & Raku in their submission holds. After the match Yamashita apologised for accidentally kicking Kamifuku during the match (Kamifuku stomped on Yamashita while she was stuck in the blanket and suspects Yamashita knew it was her), Uehara apologised for eating the bread and Toribami didn’t understand why everyone on her team was arguing with each other because she was blind during those moments.

The Dracarys that was used by Sara Phoenix to win her match is a Flying Codebreaker from the top rope.

The Max Heart Tournament is over for another year but before everything gets packed up, there’s one more day of matches for all of the teams to get involved in. Prism Greed could have only happened in this year’s tournament if both teams had made it to the final. The other two matches are both 8-Women Tags featuring all the other teams from the winners right down to those who fell in Round 1.

It’s going to be a battle of pride and history over the International Princess Title in Sumo Hall next month. MIRAI has chosen Suzume to be her next challenger because both have grown stronger in their own different ways in the time that’s occured since MIRAI left Tokyo Joshi Pro. The two were classmates who both debuted in 2019 and had a short lived tag team called BeeStar. If that’s not enough, both of them are going into the match carrying the expectations for their respective companies on their backs. Suzume wants to win back the IP Title for TJPW while MIRAI is fighting for Michinoku Pro who have taken to her like family throughout her tenure there so far.

It has not been made official yet but Ober Eats are going to have their next Princess Tag Team Titles defence on this show. By winning the Max Heart Tournament they have virtually prevented any other team in TJPW from becoming the No. 1 Contenders for the time being. Yuki Kamifuku says she doesn’t care who she and Wakana Uehara will fight against but she would prefer it if TJPW can find a buzzworthy tag team that is cooler, sexier and more popular than them.
