Thirteen matches in total will fill up five hours at Korakuen Hall later this month. DDT is celebrating the 29th Anniversary of its creation and hopes are growing high that something big will be in store for their 30th. But we’re getting ahead of ourselves with that one. Almost every one of DDT’s championships will be defended (the KO-D 10-Man Tag Team Titles are being left out in the cold), future challengers for some of the belts will be set up and there is also the debut of Masami Inahata to look forward to.
It’s all going easy for paleyouth. I only took them a few days to win the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles after the unit was created. They also don’t have to wait long for their first defence. Harimao are stepping up to the plate with Kazusada Higuchi standing by to support his buddies.
The Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title is currently in quite the predicament. Antonio Honda won the title only to lose it to Hisaya Imabayashi because the DDT GM does not trust Honda enough to beat YOH on 15th April. That match made Imabayashi paranoid that the belt would end up in New Japan’s hands and DDT cannot afford to ever let that happen again. However now he has to defend the title against six opponents and it won’t be in a Battle Royal. It is going to be a Handicap Match instead! The only hope he has is if the opposing team cannot get along and end up falling apart because of it. That could happen if Minoru Suzuki is in a particularly sour mood that day. Sanshiro Takagi does not often inspire a lot of loyalty among his wrestlers either, as a teammate or a boss.
A growing tag team between Shinya Aoki & Junta Miyawaki that is built out of respect and admiration could soon see them get rewarded for their efforts. If they can beat Chris Brookes & HARASHIMA then they will become the No. 1 Contenders for the KO-D Tag Team Titles. Otherwise it will be the FANTÔMES DRAMATIC pair who will get the next shot.
The good news for Evil Uno is this appearance on a DDT show in Korakuen Hall cannot be as humiliating for him as the first one. The bad news is he will likely end up with more bruises because The Apex will be his opponents.

Close-up images of the new Princess Championship belts have been revealed by Tokyo Joshi Pro. They will be on display at Sunday’s TJPW show but will not be given out to the champions until the Sumo Hall show.
In an unfortunate turn of events, TNA have told Tokyo Joshi Pro that Lei Ying Lee is unable to take part at their Sumo Hall show and her scheduled trip to Japan has been cancelled. Despite having the booking placed well in advance, TJPW were unable to convince TNA to change their decision. Instead, TNA provided TJPW with a statement that claims neither TJPW nor Lee are to blame over the situation. As best as I can tell, TNA have their “SACRIFICE” special as well as a TV taping happening in New Orleans during the same weekend as “GRAND PRINCESS ’26”. So if Lee is needed for the TV taping on the Saturday then she definitely can’t make it to Tokyo in time for TJPW on the Sunday. The time difference probably makes it too difficult for her to start travelling on the Friday night too. Plus there’s also the general travel risks from going in and out of America that’s currently happening right now that could be playing a part in this situation.
TJPW were quick to announce Lee’s replacement after they put that news out. They put out an offer to Marvelous to secure the TJPW debut of Takumi Iroha! She will be teaming up with Sareee which means their tag team Spark Rush is coming to TJPW! Miyu Yamashita was already excited to fight Sareee again but now she is salivating over the chance to fight Iroha too. Arisu Endo doesn’t want to be left out of the action and says she will shine the brightest out of anyone in the match!
The recent Iron Man Title changes have an effect on this card too. Rika Tatsumi is no longer the champion but she is still in the match. The deal with this Battle Royal is whoever holds the Iron Man Title must take part in the match, which means the DDT GM Hisaya Imabayashi could potentially defend the belt in Sumo Hall on a TJPW show! He never gets to beat Tetsuya Koda in the ring but a moral victory like this would be huge in their professional rivalry.
Another thing with the Battle Royal is TJPW have asked fans not to throw streamers for the entrances due to the nature of the match. However Minimo-chan has made requests for streamers from the fans to celebrate the mascot’s debut wrestling match. After a couple of discussions, TJPW decided that Minimo-chan will enter the match first and will be the only participant allowed to get streamers during the entrance.
Oh, and I almost forgot. Remember how Koda was told to go find a big star for the show but couldn’t do it? Well luck sort of fell on his lap. He accompanied Shion Kanzaki for her day of street performances in Shinjuku to promote the show. All of a sudden Koda was ambushed by the Sumire Uesaka, a voice actress and singer who once performed a solo concert at Sumo Hall ten years ago! She was armed with a saber and assaulted Koda with it in a way that reminded Tokyo Sports of Tiger Jeet Singh attacking Antonio Inoki in the same city back in 1973! Uehara appeared to be in a rage because she once held the Iron Man Title for a brief time last year and wants to be part of the Battle Royal to win it back! After Kanzaki stopped the incident and Uehara calmed down, she explained to Tokyo Sports that she was meant to grab her umbrella as she was leaving her home but grabbed the mysterious saber instead. She felt a sudden urge of fighting spirit overcome her but does not remember anything that happened after that.

Rumours were swirling around yesterday when a Japanese wrestling blog Kakutolog posted a story about Shinjuku FACE possibly shutting down its doors later this year. Sadly, today the venue’s management confirmed that Shinjuku FACE will be closing down on 30th September when their fixed-term lease with the building expires. To say this is a blow for the Japanese wrestling scene is an understatement given how so many wrestling companies are based in Tokyo and have relied on Shinjuku FACE to put on shows that aren’t on the level of Korakuen Hall but are still easy to access deep in the heart of that city. If Korakuen Hall is where you go to get a heat check on a wrestling company, Shinjuku FACE is where you will experience that company’s status quo. It will have a negative effect on the CyberFight promotions for sure because of how often they’ve booked shows in there over the last 20 years.
Kota Sekifuda has been brought in to take the place of the injured Yuni in Match #1.

The first round of the inaugural UNIVERSE CUP took place, pitting eight wrestlers from eight different promotions against each other. The common ground linking almost all of the promotions together is that they are a part of the Wrestle Universe streaming service. Add in the randomness of Monday Magic and the result is a bunch of unexpected surprises in store both in and out of the tournament.
Hayabusa from ZERO1 defeated Yumehito Imanari from Ganbare☆Pro in the main event. Imanari was crushed over the loss because he was originally part of Wrestle Universe from the very beginning when it was called DDT Universe. Hayabusa will meet Naomichi Marufuji from NOAH in the semi-final. Marufuji had to deal with Kuroshio TOKYO Japan’s antics today. Even thought Kuroshio lost, he doesn’t want to go away. The Up Town wrestler asked Marufuji backstage if he can come over to NOAH? Marufuji simply told him no.
The Great Sasuke and Isami Kodaka went wild for their 1st Round match. The Michinoku Pro legend gave Kodaka a Piledriver onto the entrance ramp and also slammed him onto a pile of chairs at ringside. Kodaka almost got him back with a Brainbuster but Sasuke pinned the BASARA wrestler with La Magistral Cradle for the victory. Kodaka hopes he can come back to Monday Magic and maybe get some NOAH bookings too. Sanshiro Takagi had an adventure of his own when he had to fight not just one mummy, but two! While he fought The Great Mummy in the ring, NOSAWA Rongai brought down a second Great Mummy to add some confusion to the mix. Luckily for Takagi, Mecha Mummy showed up to help him and Takagi went on to win the match for DDT. NOSAWA swears he will get revenge on Takagi by sending his mummy wrestlers over to invade Super Japan!

There will also be a small Royal Rumble style match for the joshi wrestlers so maybe TJPW will start to mix in with the rest of the scene after all.

The IInspiration will make their Tokyo Joshi Pro debuts on the opening show of the tour as they get ready to challenge for the Princess Tag Team Titles over in Japan at the end of the month. Wakana Uehara will face them with Shoko Nakajima as her tag partner. Yuki Kamifuku will be busy in the main event helping out Yuki Arai against Daydream. Another Sumo Hall preview match has Miyu Yamashita & Arisu Endo getting some ring time together as a team. The tour will also be the first time everyone will see Kaya Toribami in action under her new persona Sakura Hattori.

The second show is a little less focused on building towards the Sumo Hall show. Ober Eats will regroup a day after Uehara experiences what The IInspiration are all about and can start to figure out a battleplan.

Rika Tatsumi is teasing she will delve deep into her madness and become the Great Wakabayashi-kun in order to defend the title. Matcha will get into the thick of things after she recently beat Yamashita and Toribami for her home promotion’s tag titles. One of the newcomers is Momo Sato, an idol from Harajuku Gakuen who also happens to be Daichi Sato’s little sister. Last but not least, the mascot Minimo-chan has trained hard enough to unlock its own battle mode and will appear in the match as Minimo.

6. Yuki Arai, HIMAWARI & Shino Suzuki defeated Miu Watanabe, Toga & Uta Takami when Arai submitted Watanabe with the Scorpion Death Lock (14:07).
The tide is turning back towards favoring Yuki Arai because she just made Miu Watanabe tap out! A Full Nelson Buster from Arai helped set up the Scorpion Death Lock. Watanabe tried her hardest to crawl her way to the ropes but when she reached out to grab one, Arai was able to press her hand down while still applying pressure with the hold. Watanabe had no choice to tap out and it was in such a subdued manner that it took a few taps for Fumirin to realize Watanabe was giving up. Arai asked after the match if Watanabe now gets what she is all about? Watanabe admitted she can feel how serious Arai is taking this and now wants to know how much she loves pro wrestling. She promised not to lose to Arai next time and also not to lose to her at Sumo Hall. Arai said backstage that she wants to continue moving forward with condifence because today’s win made her realise she can win the Princess Of Princess Title from Watanabe on 29th March. She’s going to work even harder because she doesn’t want people to think today’s result was a fluke.
The ToJo Tokusatsu Club took their eyes off the prize and paid for it today. Their entrance to the Juken Sentai Gekiranger theme song was interrupted by the other team ambushing them and all getting the three count with roll ups! Shoko Nakajima called the other team cowards for winning that way because the hero’s introduction is meant to be a manifestation of their soul. Mizuki agreed to a rematch and the Club went back to doing their sentai pose only for Pom Harajuku to attack them again. The attempt to form a Megzord didn’t work this time because Harajuku Shin Kicked Yuki Aino & Haru Kazashiro before they could all combine. Instead Raku & Harajuku held up Mizuki for their own super special triple team. Kazashiro moved out of the way though which made the other team all sad. The Club’s attempt at triple teaming blew up in their faces and Harajuku scored the upset win of the day by pinning Nakajima with the Pom de Justice. The Club learned that Harajuku really is trying to win her matches while they themselves have become cocky over the recent Super Sentai news for “GRAND PRINCESS ’26”.
As we get closer to Sumo Hall, Hyper Misao took it upon herself to go through a trial. She told Mifu Ashida she would fight Daisy Monkey by herself but whenever she gets into trouble, she will need Ashida to cheer her on. Ashida’s cheerleading had her rubbing the pom poms into Suzume’s face so Misao could then spray her after the distraction. It became a regular tag match from there and Arisu Endo used the Ju no Okite on Ashida to get the win.
Kaya Toribami showed up today looking no worse for wear after her ninja training with Genichi Mitsuhashi during the week ended in mystery. Afer her match she told everyone she found out what she needs to do. She then made an unexpected announcement that 15th March will be her final match! The reason for that is because after 15th March, Toribami will become a brand new wrestler going by the name Sakura Hattori!
It was announced today that a Battle Royal will be held at Sumo Hall and Rika Tatsumi will be a part of it to defend the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title. However after recently studying her madness under Cookie from Yasei Bakudan, Tatsumi warns that another version of her might appear in the match instead. She is calling this new alter ego The Great Wakabayashi-kun.
The show began with Sanshiro Takagi introducing everyone to the new idol he scouted to wrestle at “GRAND PRINCESS ’26”. She is Momo Sato from the group Harajuku Gakuen. She is from Kanagawa, was born on 5th January, 2011 and stands 157cm tall. She is also the younger sister of Daichi Sato from DDT and has some experience being in a wrestling ring from training in the HEAT-UP Dojo. She even once participated in a recital match at Korakuen Hall while she was in fifth grade. Takagi scouted her when she went to a recent show to support her brother. She will be taking part in the Battle Royal and Takagi recommended she should ask her brother to teach her all kinds of wrestling moves. Momo then told Takagi that Daichi used to put her in the Camel Clutch.

During the week Kaya Toribami told Tokyo Joshi Pro she was going on a trip to Iga City on short notice and would record a vlog of her visit to the area. There she met Genichi Mitsuhashi, the first person to ever get a PhD for Ninja Studies in Mie University. She then spent the day training with him in his dojo. After learning some new techniques she was encouraged to visit a nearby Bishamonten shrine. When she walked inside the grounds she found a Oni mask and suddenly began to convulse after she picked it up. The footage ended there but allegedly Mitsuhashi found Toribami and sent her back to Tokyo. A short time later TJPW received a video from Mitsuhashi of Toribami falling into a trance after the convulsions and then unmasking herself before walking behind one of the shrines, leaving her mask behind…

A promotional shoot put together by Tokyo Joshi Pro took place at the Meiji Kinenkan yesterday. During the day, contracts were signed for two of the three championship matches being held at “GRAND PRINCESS ’26” and the participants got to speak their minds about them. Yuki Arai talked about this being her second challenge for the Princess Of Princess Title. When she lost to Mizuki last year, she still felt she got closer towards the belt than she was before the match but still felt disheartened. She shares a bond with Miu Watanabe because they are both idol wrestlers and gets really excited whenever they get to wrestle each other. Arai wants to beat Watanabe to become the new champion and carry the future as TJPW’s ace.
Watanabe talked about being a two-time Princess Champion and the upcoming match at Sumo Hall being her fifth defence of this reign. The longer she carries the belt, the more she grows as a princess. By the time she gets to Ryogoku she will feel like the strongest princess ever! She also never forgot how beautiful and happy everything felt two years ago when she beat Miyu Yamashita in Sumo Hall for her first Princess Title. She wants to see that sparkle again and spread it even further than before. During her recent battles with Arai, she now believes that Arai has the strongest heart of any wrestler. However she cannot tell what is Arai’s favorite type of wrestling and wants to find out before the title match takes place. Watanabe also came up with comparisons between her and Arai. Watanabe is like Cinderella while Arai is Mickey Mouse. When Watanabe thinks of Disney Land, she thinks of Cinderella’s castle because it is the symbol of such a dreamland. She thinks of Arai as a star who likes to take the next step forward, just like Mickey.
The other contract signing was for the International Princess Title bout between MIRAI and Suzume. The two were originally classmates in TJPW until they drifted apart. Suzume brought up how she felt when they were back fighting in the same ring again recently. It made her think more than ever that she should never lose to MIRAI. She expects MIRAI to feel the same way. She also wants to live her life on her own terms just like how MIRAI does, but that means fighting for what she loves and she loves TJPW. MIRAI spoke about representing Michinoku Pro and admitted her older self would never imagine a match like this ever happening again. She understands how much Suzume wants to vent her frustrations out at her but can also tell Suzume is still a very kind person. Both will be smiling while wrestling each other with all of the emotions coming out of their hearts. That’s just the kind of match MIRAI wants to have at Sumo Hall. Both of them also brought up stories of their time together as trainees alongside a third classmate. She wasn’t named but they were referring to Sena Shiori.
Until now the only previous time Miyu Yamashita and Sareee had fought each other was back in 2020 before Sareee went to America for her WWE NXT run. At the time, Aja Kong herself said she wanted Sareee to remove her limits for the match because it would make Yamashita do the same but it never really got to that level. It’s finally time to run it back with another tag match. Lei Ying Lee became friends with Sareee during their time spent in WWE yet they never got to be in the same match together. Both of them are wrestlers who Yamashita really wants to face for different reasons. She has unfinished business with Sareee as mentioned above while she is also really impressed with Ying Lee’s kung fu and kickboxing skills. Arisu Endo will be Yamashita’s tag partner for the match and she admits to feeling shivers of excitement when she found out about it. She considers herself the least experienced wrestler in the match but thinks she can shine the brightest out of everyone. It’s up to Yamashita & Endo to show the outsiders just what TJPW is all about!
Away from the promotional shoot, other updates to the card have since been announced. It was already confirmed that the Super Sentai will be connected to the ToJo Tokusatsu Club’s match but now we know more details about it. They’re going to be accompanied by three Red Rangers! Ninja Red, Geki Red & Go-On Red will be there for the Club, or maybe the Club members will morph into them. I still don’t quite get what’s going on.
There is also news coming from Sanshiro Takagi’s role for the show. He was tasked by Super Sasadango Machine to scout a new idol to become a pro wrestler and debut at the show. Accordng to Takagi he has successfully scouted someone and is planning to reveal the idol to everyone at this Saturday’s TJPW show.
Finally, Rika Tatsumi went on a journey to search for the “madness” that is deep inside her. Her idea of doing that was to go meet her comedy idol Cookie from the duo Yasei Bakudan. She was so eager to learn from him that she officially relinquished the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title to him! He reluctantly accepted the belt and a nearby referee announced the title change. Cookie then started coming up with ideas to help Tatsumi embrace her psycho side. He first painted her face white and added oversized props to her face. She tested her craziness by choking Cookie until he submitted, which meant Tatsumi won back the Iron Man Title. More facepainting took place and Tatsumi ended up looking like Pinhead from the Hellraiser movies. The meeting ended with Cookie gifting Tatsumi with a custom nunchuk, one that has a fork hidden inside it to be used as a secret weapon.

HIMAWARI usually shines when she gets an opportunity like this while the seniors are over in America. Haru Kazashiro will have just entered the third year of her wrestling career by the time this match happens. Chika Nanase needs to do something that will get her noticed more. On the other team Toga is captaining the two rookies. Ren Konatsu is progressing now that she has the Aries Comet as her first finishing move. Shion Kanzaki will benefit being on a DDT show this quickly into her career.

A new unit is developing among the D GENERATIONS wrestlers. Takeshi Masada & Yuya Koroku decided to create a new stable focused on their age group and Daichi Sato agreed to join them. They don’t have a name at the moment so are temporarily being referred to as the New Generation Army. Since they already consist of three people they are going to fight for the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles as their first big challenge. Kaisei Takechi is itching to wrestle again sooner than scheduled so he along with Yuki Ueno & To-y are ready to defend their titles next week.
We’re approaching that time of year when DDT holds sponsored matches with the Yamada Suisan seafood company. That means the return of the masked seafood themed wrestlers Shishamo Power and Unagi Mask. The match also sees Yuki Iino return to action after he’s been away training for his American Football team.
A bonus dark match is being provided by Tokyo Joshi Pro. At the time of writing Rika Tatsumi is still the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Champion. Could the belt be going back home to DDT? Not if she has any say in it. Her goal as the champion is to bring the title all the way to TJPW’s Sumo Hall show at the end of the month.

To-y argues against that because some of his challengers so far have been from their own generation too.

Apparently TJPW went and did it. They struck a deal to have something Super Sentai related to show up at Sumo Hall and be involved with the ToJo Tokusatsu Club’s match. At least I think that is what’s happening. I’m confused because I thought the TV show just ended recently to be replaced with a similar substitute for reasons that involve the studio moving on from a copyright deadlock. I guess we’ll find out at Sumo Hall what the Super Sentai collaboration will look like. Maybe the Tokusatsu Club gets to morph into their own Super Sentai outfits before they go out and fight Pompaler & Aja Kong. Actually they should go full Kaiju Big Battel and have the ring filled with small cardboard buildings for everyone to smash and slam each other on.
The Tokusatsu Club recently completed their “fireball return” training but since fire was absolutely prohibited, they ended up doing batting practice with Tetsu Inada instead. There are updates for some of the other Super Sasadango Machine PR tasks to catch up on. The roster has spent the last few days putting up posters for the show around Tokyo. Minimo-chan has taken up weight training for its debut match. Shino Suzuki is finding more and more influencers to challenge for games of Rock Paper Scissors but has only beaten one opponent so far. She has to keep doing this until she beats two more.
Sasadango has also come up with more challenges for the wrestlers who haven’t been given any tasks yet. He has asked Shion Kanzaki to hold a street performance in the heart of Shinjuku. Meanwhile Miyu Yamashita was told to take on intensive idol training.
Phew! Finally made it through the month with a lot more clearer pictures to look at. Konosuke Takeshita has moved on from the Kazuchika Okada feud to become a focal point in the rivalry between The Don Callis Family and the Death Riders. Takeshita against Jon Moxley is the destination while bringing in a variety of wrestlers for some good trios bouts in the process. I’ve been happy watching this feud so far because the matches have been constantly good and highlighting some of the AEW wrestlers I really like. However Okada is still making moves in the background because he might have just stolen Takeshita’s tag partner! He only just formed ProtOkada with Kyle Fletcher this past week which should eventually add another layer to Takeshita’s story with The Family.
Next up we go to Tokyo Joshi Pro and their ever increasing international schedule. After a lot of hullabaloo that had driven me crazy, the return to Las Vegas was finally confirmed to be real. That can be added to the Texas tour, the Vancouver tour and also a show in Italy all coming up in the next couple of months (and maybe more). With that being said, the ticket sales for the Texas tour so far look dismal from what people can find online and the savvy marketing work done by Tokyo Story USA is almost nowhere to be seen this time around. We may be due some harsh lessons this time around, like how maybe last year’s success really did just come from holding the shows next to a big destination wrestling event.
Elsewhere this month some of the TJPW wrestlers have lost their championships. Shoko Nakajima and K!SS// went on their travels and came back home missing their titles. Things fared better for the DDT wrestlers when it comes to gaining or keeping their gold. Now heading into March we have Miyu Yamashita embarking on another excursion, WrestleMania Week all of a sudden getting stuffed with TJPW appearances to look forward to and Daisuke Sasaki is off to North America for a while.

1. Konosuke Takeshita, Josh Alexander & El Clon defeated Jon Moxley, PAC & Daniel Garcia (w/ Marina Shafir) when Takeshita pinned Garcia with the Raging Fire (13:18).
The current storyline Takeshita is in is a stable war going on between The Don Callis Family and the Death Riders that’s become the backbone of AEW’s mid-card on TV. He and Moxley had plenty of battles against each other this month in 6-Man Tags. Takeshita scored first blood when he teamed with Josh Alexander & El Clon (the evil doppelganger of Hologram) to beat Moxley, PAC & Daniel Garcia. Things could have gone the other way when Garcia put Takeshita in the Dragon Tamer (Sharpshooter) submission hold and Moxley then Curb Stomped him. But Alexander broke the pin and Takeshita got his wind back to slam Garcia. Tandem trios moves from The Family couldn’t keep Garcia down until Takeshita dropped him with the Raging Fire.

By the time this is posted, all I know about this MLW taping is Shoko Nakajima lost the MLW Women’s World Featherweight Title to Shotzi Blackheart. Since then there hasn’t been a word about when the match will air. MLW are really taking their time putting their next batch of episodes together.

1. Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli & PAC (w/ Marina Shafir) defeated Konosuke Takeshita, Josh Alexander & Mark Davis when Moxley pinned Alexander with the Death Rider (15:05).
The next trios match had Claudio Castagnoli replacing Garcia and Mark Davis switching in for El Clon. This time Moxley was in danger of losing the match to the teamwork of The Family until PAC came to the rescue. Castagnoli cut off Takeshita with a European Uppercut, giving Moxley the opening to catch Alexander in a Read Naked Choke, wearing him down enough to give him the Death Rider for the victory.

1. AEW Continental Title: Jon Moxley (c) Vs Konosuke Takeshita ended in a Time Limit Draw (20:00). *V1 for Jon Moxley.
When it was finally time for Moxley and Takeshita to settle their differences one on one in Australia, time wound up running out for them. With the AEW Continental Title on the line, rules were strictly in place to make sure no interference would be allowed. It ended up going to a stalemate. Moxley giving Takeshita a Curb Stomp onto the apron didn’t keep him out of the ring long enough to get counted out. Neither the Powerdrive Knee or the Wrist-Clutch Exploder Suplex was enough to pin Moxley for a three count. Takeshita kicked out of the Death Rider and the two continued throwing bombs at each other until the bell rang. Takeshita was seconds away from performing the Raging Fire so he went ahead and did it anyway after the match was over.

1. Konosuke Takeshita (w/ Don Callis) defeated Dalton Castle with the Powerdrive Knee (10:47).
Brisbane had extra action for Takeshita during his stay there. AEW ran a rare house show the next day and Takeshita was on it wrestling Dalton Castle for the first time ever. Before the match began Don Callis had Castle’s buddies The Outrunners sent away from ringside because they did not have a manager’s license recognized by the state of Australia. Callis got some cheap shots in on Castle at ringside while the crowds chanted bald jokes at him. Castle fought his way back to give Takeshita the Bangarang for a nearfall but a well timed Elbow Strike gave Takeshita the momentum needed to eventually win the match.

2. IWA Japan SETUP World Title: Shivam (c) Vs Chris Brookes ended in a Time Limit Draw (20:00). *V2 for Shivam.
There were two big title matches to follow over in Thailand for SETUP this month. Chris Brookes challenged Shivam for the IWA Japan SETUP World Title despite both men belonging to the same group, Real Global Threat. In a result that became something of a trend for a lot of title matches I’m writing about in this article, the match latest the full twenty minute time limit and went to a draw. Brookes demanded a restart and called Pumi Boonyatud into the ring to make it happen. But it was all a trap so Brookes could knock out Pumi with a slap! Shivam then got on the microphone to praise Brookes for caring about pro wrestlers like him before attacking Pumi some more until Monomoth ran them out of the ring.
Meanwhile Miyu Yamashita & Kaya Toribami’s reign as IWA Japan SETUP World Tag Team Champions has come to an end. K!SS// went to Thailand for a big title defence against SETUP’s other two singles champions Monomoth & Matcha. Both teams fought their hardest over the titles until it came down to Toribami against Matcha in the ring. Yamashita dealt with Monomoth by Skull Kicking him off the ring apron but Toribami’s attempt at the Sento Choryu was blocked by Matcha’s knees. Matcha then fought to give Toribami the Saito Suplex, pinning her while a dazed Monomoth held onto Yamashita long enough to prevent her from breaking the count. K!SS// accepted defeat and shook hands with the new champions after the match.

Since nothing was solved in Australia, the feud between The Family and the Death Riders continued with more 6-Man Tag Matches. Wheeler Yuta was now brought into the fold wrestling in a beanie hat because he recently lost his hair in a wager match. Also Marina Shafir was now getting into the thick of things. She’s been at ringside for most of the matches in this feud and got physically involved this time to stop Davis from using a chair. Yuta was enthusiastic to try and get the win on Takeshita until he was hit with a Pump Kick followed by the Elbow Strike. El Clon wiped out the rest of the Death Riders, allowing Takeshita to pin Yuta with the Raging Fire. Moxley confronted him after the match and thanks to others trying to get in the way, he caught Takeshita off guard and gave him the Paradigm Shift.

It’s been so long since I last heard about the BZW Tag Team Titles that I wasn’t sure if MAO & Yoshihiko were still the champions. Turns out they are and they travelled all the way to England for their latest defence. MAO was over there to take part in training seminars and brought Yoshihiko over so they could wrestle on a show co-promoted by BZW and Pursuit Pro Wrestling. They defeated Liam Slater & HMD to retain the gold.

Another title match and another time limit draw for Takeshita. Although this time he got a chance to make up for it. New Japan returned to America with a fresh attempt at running a big show in the country. Having El Phantasmo and Takeshita go at it with the NJPW World TV Title again was one of the big bouts of the show. They pretty much played the hits until ELP gave Takeshita a taste of his own medicine by using the Raging Fire on him! However the bell rang right afterwards to announce the match ended in a tie. ELP got on the microphone and talked about how much time limit draws suck and demanded the match to restart for another five minutes. Takeshita considered walking out with Rocky Romero next to him but turned around and got the match going again. This time Takeshita gave ELP the CR II, using the champion’s own finisher against him. ELP kicked out and snuck in a Crucifix Pin for a nearfall but Takeshita hit back and won the match with the Raging Fire. Now a champion in NJPW again, Takeshita thinks the company wants him to raise the value of the NJPW World TV Title.

We’re at the time of year where Yamashita goes travelling everywhere. Europe is the next up for her with EVE as an important destination. Her first of two EVE bookings for March has her facing Jamie Hayter in a much anticipated singles match.
Yamashita then goes over to Spain the next day for a return to RCW Spain. Her opponent Nightshade has done tours with TJPW in the past but this will be the first time these two will be in a match together.

It’s the Casino Gauntlet match where the first fall crowns the winner outright but you can still be eliminated before then by going over the top rope to the floor. The winner gets to challenge for any of EVE’s championships.
