7. Union MAX Title: Isami Kodaka defeated Trans-Am ★ Ryuichi (c) with the Isamuashi Zan (16:35).
*Trans-Am ★ Ryuichi fails in V4. Isami Kodaka becomes the 9th Union MAX Champion!

15 years isn’t slowing down Isami Kodaka one bit. He regained the Union MAX Championship on his very own 15th Anniversary show! Kodaka’s cry from the main event’s video package was “Enjoy Wrestling!” while the defending champion Trans-Am ★ Ryuichi shouted back with “Freedom!” The video also featured comments from Ryuichi Kawakami who has been constantly compared to Trans-Am ★ Ryuichi for some reason. In a reverse of roles, it was Ryuichi who offered a handshake at the start only for Kodaka to kick his hand away. Kodaka later asked for a handshake but Ryuichi turned him down and shouted “Wooooo!” Kodaka kicked out of the Perfect Plex and fought his way out of the Perfect Five. An Exploder Suplex took Ryuichi out of his game and a bunch of Buzzsaw Kicks and Isamuashi Zan kicks won the match for Kodaka. The new champion said Ryuichi fought like a cyborg. He then asked him to send his thanks to Kawakami. Kodaka thinks Trans-Am ★ Ryuichi and Ryuichi Kawakami should combine to form the Perfect Soldier. Ryuichi’s response in broken English was “Thank you so much!” Kodaka then talked about his own career. It can go another 15, 20, 25 and even 30 years. Kodaka wants to be like The Great Kojika who is still wrestling at 75 years old. However, Kodaka is also dedicated to BASARA. If BASARA ever goes away then that means retirement for Kodaka! He will never let that happen.

HUB got into the IRON PRIEST spirit by rocking out on air guitar with FUMA and Yusuke Kubo for their entrance. FUMA even used HUB’s stinger as a guitar while they were beating on Yasu Urano. Kubo & HUB wiped out Urano & Yuji Hino with dives but the party ended when Ryuichi Sekine countered FUMA’s Reverse Power Slam and rolled it into the Let’s Combine submission. When FUMA tapped out, Urano rushed over to hug Sekine. In the backstage interview, Sekine pointed out that he never touched HUB at all during the match because he hates snakes. He also heard all of his large sized shirts and higher sold out at the merch table. None of the smaller shirts sold which annoyed him because it meant no women were buying them, only men.

In the battle of current gen yankee versus new gen yankee, Yuko Miyamoto defeated Ryota Nakatsu. Miyamoto was put in danger many times by Nakatsu’s submissions, most notably when the Fire Thunder was countered into a Cross Armbreaker. Miyamoto eventually hit the move but Nakatsu fought through the pain to get back up to his feet. However, Nakatsu was knocked down again with a Lariat and put away with the Moonsault. Miyamoto was surprised to discover that BASARA had a wrestler so focused to target his right arm like Nakatsu did. He thinks it is possible for Nakatsu to grow into a great wrestler.

If it was made out of steel, it was allowed to be used in the Hardcore 6-Man Tag Match. Takumi Tsukamoto gathered around some of his friends from Big Japan to battle the Dove Pro team and their heavy bass music that played throughout the match. A steel box was smashed over everyone’s heads a lot. Gunso grabbed a shard of metal and dug it into Tsukamoto’s forehead to make him bleed. Kabuki Kid then created a pile of chairs for Tsukamoto to be slammed onto. However Tsukamoto got some revenge on Kid with a Fisherman Buster. Jaki Numazawa fended off the Dove wrestlers by throwing chairs at them. Masashi Takeda also used the steel box to keep the Dove wrestlers away while Tsukamoto and Gunso fought to the end inside the ring. Tsukamoto Suplexed Gunso from a ladder onto a pile of metal objects below. He then hit the Zudon for the three count, making B FAULTLESS JUNKY’S the winners. Even though a winner was declared, both sides hinted that the conflict between them isn’t over yet. Tsukamoto wasn’t satisfied with the victory.

SAGAT had the impossible task of facing Daisuke Sekimoto one on one. Even with the hard work and crowd behind him, SAGAT fell to the Deadlift German Suplex. Sekimoto gently bowed to SAGAT after the match and left the ring. SAGAT was offered help by Takato Nakano to be taken out of the ring but SAGAT refused and left under his own power. SAGAT said it was impossible for him to beat Sekimoto this year. It will be impossible for him to beat Sekimoto next year. But some year, SAGAT will beat him! Doesn’t matter if it is so long in the future that Sekimoto will be a grandfather when it happens. It will happen!

The recent sale of DDT and all of its franchises has left Gouma Ryu feeling worried. The entire company is a legitimate business now and there is so much that has to change as a result. Ryu can no longer tolerate sneak attacks because it is illegal. He also wants wrestlers to be careful with their kicks because they can cause injuries. Mineo Fujita cut him off with a sneak attack Dropkick to start their tag match. Ryu tried to strike Fujita with his lawbook but Fujita stopped him with a Shining Wizard. Fujita picked up the lawbook but was told by the referee to get rid of it. Fujita dropped the book onto Ryu’s stomach by accident then pinned him with the Swanton Bomb.

Fuminori Abe channeled the abilities of Munenori Sawa to trap Takato Nakano in an Octopus Hold the same way Sawa did. Masamune kept Shiori Asahi at bay to stop the move from being broken.

2. Batsuichi-gun Vs Ganpuro-gun: Minoru Fujita & Shoichi Uchida defeated Shuichiro Katsumura & Mizuki Watase when Fujita pinned Watase with a Modified Cradle (14:55).
3. No Protein 15,000 Calorie Intake Blow Up Double Sweet Tag Death Match: Shota & HARUKAZE defeated Yumehito Imanari & Sumire Natsu when Shota pinned Imanari with the Frog Splash (12:15).
4. Forgotten K ICE BREAK: Yasu Urano defeated Shinichiro Tominaga with a Cradle (11:30).
5. Special Single Match: Ken Ohka defeated MIYAWAKI with the Fire Spear (21:06).

Ken Ohka’s road to recovery since losing his money and his championship began with a victory over MIYAWAKI. Hs spoke about MIYAWAKI’s debut match that took place in Differ Ariake back in 2002 and how both have progressed over the last 15 years. Ohka then said how hard he works at making Ganbare☆Wrestling succeed while some other chubby men stay at home doing nothing. Both Ganbare The Great and Shoichi Uchida at ringside got mad when they heard this but Ohka told them to use that anger as motivation. Great told Ohka he’ll kill him then left.

The mess made by the Double Sweet Death Match made both Shinichiro Tominaga and Yasu Urano conscious over bits of food flying at the audience while they wrestled each other. So they tried to take it easy at first until the tension between them grew and grew.

The entire venue was filled with the smell of food after the Double Sweet Death Match. The teams of Yumehito Imanari & Sumire Natsu and Shota & HARUKAZE battled it out in a ring filled with snacks and candy. Long marshmallow bars were attached to the ropes like lighttubes and cracker pops were placed on the turnbuckles rigged to explode at a certain point. The ring was a mess by the end of the match. A bell rang again to warn everyone of something. Everyone continued fighting until the crackers all exploded, knocking everyone out.

Minoru Fujita & Shoichi Uchida spent their match finding different ways to misbehave. They both shook Shuichiro Katsumura & Mizuki Watase’s hands then refused to let go. They then complained about how hard it was for them to wrestle today whenever their opponents got the upper hand. It was only when some young fans in the audience started cheering “Batsuichi!” that they became motivated to wrestle. Fujita low blowed Watase and pinned him with a Wrist Clutch Small Package to more chants of “Batsuichi!”

Ganpuro were given a boost by the visit of wrestling promoter Fumihiko Uwai to their show. Uwai congratulated Ohka on bringing Ganpuro this far including a successful show in Korakuen Hall. He is looking forward to seeing what is next for the company. Uwai stuck around to do ring announcing for the Dai Suzuki Vs Kamui match.

5. Lottery Shuffle Tag Tournament – Final: Yasu Urano & FUMA defeated Ryota Nakatsu & SAGAT when FUMA pinned SAGAT with the Heavy Metal Anthem (14:51).

Yasu Urano & FUMA got along well as they fought all the way towards winning the Lottery Tag Tournament. FUMA nicknamed Urano “YASU-METAL” and chanted it often to motivate him. FUMA also gave Urano his custom heavy metal jacket to celebrate winning the tournament. FUMA said teaming with Urano brought back memories of them wrestling together as part of Ura-Shima-Kudo. According to FUMA he became so popular that the other members including Urano became jealous and they kicked him out before he could become the leader. But today FUMA saw the heavy metal in Urano’s soul and he wants to team with him more often. Urano asked if this means he is joining IRON PRIEST. FUMA said no because IRON PRIEST is a 3 piece band and he isn’t looking for new members at the moment. But Urano could be a support act for them. Urano admitted he is not good at heavy metal and he doesn’t like headbanging. He isn’t a part of BASARA and he doesn’t understand FUMA’s heavy metal references but everyone here is his friend.

Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi tried to get over his disappointment of missing today’s show by singing to the audience before the final took place.

5f. Isami Kodaka eliminated Naoki Tanizaki by Ring Out (22:57).

The next leg of the BASARA Vs Dove Pro feud was highlighted with another 8-Man Tag Team Elimination Match this time with Hardcore rules. The Dove Pro team all entered wearing red baseball jerseys yelling “We are DOVE PRO!”. Isami Kodaka made his entrance wearing a costume made up of combined props from other BASARA wrestlers. He was carrying Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi’s American flag and Gouma Ryu’s law book, wore SAGAT’s feathered headpiece, Takato Nakano’s leggings, Best Stretchman V3 muffler and Yusuke Kubo’s armbands. Dove Pro gained the advantage by eliminated Ryota Nakatsu and Ryuichi Sekine early while only losing “brother” YASSHI on their side. FUMA and Gunso fought on top of a ladder and were both knocked out of the ring when Kodaka was thrown into them. Kodaka was left on his own but he caught Kabuki Kid with a School Boy to bring the match down to himself and Naoki Tanizaki as the final two. They exchanged Elbow Smashes on the apron until Kodaka gave Tanizaki a Vertical Drop Brainbuster onto the apron. Tanizaki then fell off the apron to get eliminated.

BASARA won the match but the fighting continued between the two teams at ringside. Kodaka calmed everyone down and told them to save it for tomorrow’s show. He then asked if Gunso was doing anything on 1st October. That is the date of Kodaka’s 15th Anniversary show in Korakuen Hall. Kodaka would like Gunso and some of the Dove Pro wrestlers to come over to the show. Gunso described the rivalry between BASARA and Dove Pro as an “Endless, Endless Summer”. He said Kodaka’s match with Kenshin Chikano will be the de facto final match of the feud. Chikano promised to make tomorrow an unforgettable day.

Yasu Urano used the referee as a shield to stop SAGAT from hitting a top rope attack. Urano then threw the ref into SAGAT, kicked SAGAT below the belt when the ref was disoriented and pinned SAGAT with an Inside Cradle.

Gouma Ryu said he was intimidated by the skills of his opponents but gained courage when he found out he was teaming with Yusuke Kubo, the man who will be challenging for the Union MAX Title tomorrow. Ryu yelled that he would destroy Kenshin Chikano & Rey Paloma but they easily beat him up.

4. Manabu Soya, Yuji Okabayashi & Shigehiro Irie defeated Konosuke Takeshita, Akito & Diego when Okabayashi pinned Diego with the Golem Splash (21:43).

ALL OUT brought in the beef to go with the beer for their main event. Their opponents were the power trio of Manabu Soya, Yuji Okabayashi & Shigehiro Irie. They were too strong for ALL OUT and even Konosuke Takeshita admitted it. Diego got the worst of it by taking Soya’s Wild Bomber, Irie’s Beast Bomber and then Okabyashi’s Golem Splash for the finish. Akito said his team did not go ALL OUT enough. Takeshita & Diego agreed. If Beer Garden returns next year, the three of them will train every day so they can go ALL OUT for another exciting match.

Diego reverted back to Guanchulo so he could be Los Amigos with Shunma Katsumata one last time. They never got the chance to say goodbye when Katsumata joined NωA. After the match they had a toast and said “Salud” to the fans.

Yasu Urano was everywhere in the second match. The two wrestlers (Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi and Daiki Shimomura) were Urano, the referee (Daisuke Kiso) was Urano, the second at ringside (Nobuhiro Shimatani) was Urano and even the ring announcer was Urano (the real one). When another Urano (Takeshita) came out during the match everyone found out it was now a Urano Battle Royal! Two more came out (Yuni and Gota Ihashi) and they fought until one Urano was left standing. It was the Hiroshi one who won… I think… I don’t know it was hard to tell them apart…

New Beijing Pro Wrestling marked its return to DDT for the first time in years with a tag team match.

A deadlift weightlifting challenge was held at the beginning of the show. When Yuji Okabayashi showed up to compete it was of no surprise that he would win it, using his last turn to lift 300kg. Takeshita was the runner up with 250kg as his best lift. The trainee Yuki Ino got to show off his strength by lifting 200kg. He finished in third place because of it.

3. HARASHIMA, Soma Takao, Yasu Urano & Yuko Miyamoto defeated Shigehiro Irie, Kazusada Higuchi, Kouki Iwasaki & Dave Crist when HARASHIMA pinned Iwasaki with the Somato (14:46).

Smile Squash showed up in full for their day of Beer Garden fun. Yasu Urano and also Yuko Miyamoto came by to team with HARASHIMA & Soma Takao in an 8-Man Tag main event. HARASHIMA & Miyamoto even wrestled in their Smile Yankee costumes. On the other side were Shigehiro Irie, Kazusada Higuchi, Kouki Iwasaki and in his DDT debut Dave Crist. Smile Squash came out on top. Urano thanked everyone for welcoming him back for his first DDT appearance since going freelance. He described the match as a comfortable experience. It’s too early for him to say if he has gotten any stronger but he hopes the next time Smile Squash gets together he will be the strongest member! HARASHIMA said he is happy to be entering the Dramatic General Election with the other three on the same team.

There was a whole lot of body swapping going on throughout the shot. Danshoku Dino, MAO, Yuki Ueno and Daisuke Kiso all clashed heads at some point causing their minds to switch bodies. So when it was time for the Dino Vs Ueno match we got Ueno in Dino’s body, MAO in Ueno’s body, Kiso in MAO’s body and Dino is Kiso’s body. “Dino” gave “Ueno” the Danshoku Driver but refused to pin him and instead dry humped both him and “Kiso”. The match was thrown out and another clash of heads lead to Dino and Ueno getting their bodies back. But then somehow Dino was also in MAO’s body and he dry humped Makoto Oishi. If that wasn’t enough, Dino was also in Nobuhiro Shimatani’s body so he chased after Rekka and finally Dino in Kiso chased after Yukinori Matsui. Intermission had to be called so DDT could figure out how to bring everyone back to normal.

Tomomitsu Matsunaga stood tall in the Big Sumo tournament. He has now won two of the three sumo tournaments held.

5. Trans-Am ★ Family Vs IRON PRIEST: FUMA, Yusuke Kubo & Hagane defeated Trans-Am ★ Ryuichi, Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi & Trans-Am ★ Tanaka when Kubo pinned Ryuichi with the Death Metal Roll (16:28).

For the first time in BASARA, the unbeatable Trans-Am ★ Ryuichi has been pinned! Yusuke Kubo countered Ryuichi’s Perfect Five into the Death Metal Roll for the surprise three count, giving IRON PRIEST the win over Trans-Am ★ Family. The result gives Kubo a strong argument for getting a Union MAX Title shot. But somebody outside of the Trans-Am ★ Family doesn’t like that idea. Isami Kodaka earlier in the show declared his intentions of winning his belt back and he thinks he should get a shot before Kubo does. And since this is Kodaka’s company, his word is law! FUMA protested and said BASARA was created to give everyone freedom. Kodaka disagreed and said it was so he could be a dictator. FUMA then said Kubo has beaten Ryuichi while Kodaka hasn’t. Kodaka couldn’t argue against that and admitted he was being unfair. Kubo pinning Ryuichi is a big deal so that should be rewarded. Kodaka backed off so Kubo could declare himself the No. 1 Contender. Ryuichi’s response to Kubo was “OK. Understand. You are next!”

Kodaka is excited by the matches BASARA and Dove Pro are having together. He wants more crazy matches like the one they had today and is looking forward to the next bouts happening next month in Osaka and Hiroshima. However, that’s not all that Kodaka wants. He also declared his intentions to win back the Union MAX Title!

Yasu Urano was taken to court accused by Atsushi Maruyama of damaging DDT’s finances when he became a freelancer. He was questioned by Maruyama about why he left DDT. Urano gave the answer that he wants compete with various wrestlers around the scene. Maruyama didn’t believe him and is convinced Urano has a desire to destroy DDT. Ryuichi Sekine was brought in as a witness. He said he was thinking about quitting wrestling until Urano came to BASARA to fight him. Hagane was next and he said the same. As the questioning continued, Gouma Ryu was insulted when Maruyama said he is not a wrestler but a lawyer so he shouldn’t be standing inside the ring. Ryu snapped and put Matsuyama in a Cross Armbreaker, making him submit and ending the trial. Urano was declared innocent.

7. Heaven Summit ~Itadaki~ – Final – Union MAX Title: Trans-Am ★ Ryuichi (c) defeated FUMA with the Perfect Plex (17:19).
*V2 for Trans-Am ★ Ryuichi.

The final night of the Heaven Summit ~Itadaki~ tournament began with a suspenseful tiebreaker. Both Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi and FUMA finished in a dead heat in their block. Their group match ended in a Double KO so neither could put in a rightful claim for who deserved the spot in the final more. So they had to fight each other again in a tiebreaker match. This time FUMA came out on top, wearing out Hiroshi with Buzzsaw Kicks and then finally finishing him off with the Jawbreaker kick.

The stakes were raised in the final when Trans-Am ★ Ryuichi agreed to put the Union MAX Title on the line against FUMA. After all, there was no clear challenger on the horizon for the champ after he swept through the competition in the group stage. The ring was surrounded by IRON PRIEST and the Trans-Am ★ Family. All of them were cheering for their wrestler to win. The champion was in trouble when FUMA countered the Perfect Five into the Metal Fire From Hell. The end appeared to be coming when FUMA went for the Jawbreaker but Ryuichi made him freeze by pointing at him and shouting “YOU!” FUMA snapped out and gave Ryuichi a High Kick then a Superplex. FUMA was on fire until Ryuichi stopped him in his tracks with a Lariat. Now Ryuichi was shaking the ropes in anticipation and he hit another Lariat for a nearfall. The end finally came when Ryuichi hit the Perfect Five and it was enough to pin FUMA for the three count.

Ryuichi happily accepted his 500,000 yen cash prize. He told FUMA he dislikes the Heavy Metal hand sign but he also doesn’t mind heavy metal music in general so they should wrestle again some time. He tried to walk towards FUMA for a handshake but stopped when SAGAT accidentally stepped on the microphone cable. Ryuichi and Hiroshi attacked SAGAT as punishment then went back to shake FUMA’s hand. The Trans-Am ★ Family declared “War is over. Love and peace.” However, Yusuke Kubo disagreed. He told the Family in English that the war is not over and IRON PRIEST won’t be shaking hands with them. IRON PRIEST will never give up! He challenged them to a match on 20th July. They agreed but first, Ryuichi is taking his prize money to Las Vegas.

Yasu Urano wanted to experience a Hardcore Match and by God he got what he wanted. Isami Kodaka brought out a ladder and set it up in the ring. Then when the match began everyone immediately brought in chairs and swung away at each other. Kodaka later busted him open with a chairshot. Takumi Tsukamoto fended off Kodaka & Ryuichi Sekine with his giant hammer. Kodaka then hit the Chair Assisted Diving Double Knee Drop on Tsukamoto. Urano broke the pin and DDT’d Kodaka onto the chair. Sekine wiped out Tsukamoto with a Topé Suicida while Kodaka hit Urano with a Shining Wizard. Kodaka climbed the ladder but Urano followed. The two exchanged strikes until Kodaka knocked Urano off the ladder. He then hit the Diving Double Knee Drop from the ladder to Urano. After that there was no way Urano could kick out. When the match was over Kodaka asked Urano if he enjoyed his first Hardcore Match. Urano said he did not take this match lightly and he wanted to do as well as SAGAT would. Urano then asked if he could continue to wrestle in BASARA, but no more Hardcore Matches. Kodaka brought up the Shinjuku Strongest Ground Budokai tournament. There have been two tournaments previously and they were won by Urano and Kodaka. So let’s do it again! Both of them announced they will enter the next Budokai tournament which will take place in Korakuen Hall instead of Shinjuku on 28th December. Naoki Tanizaki also threw his name into the hat when he found out about it.

Ryota Nakatsu’s plan to target Magnitude Kishiwada’s left arm didn’t work. His opponent was able to shrug off the damage and cut him off with a Lariat late in the match. He only got a nearfall with the Diving Body Press. When that didn’t work, Kishiwada put Nakatsu into a Single Leg Crab Hold and dragged him into the middle of the ring for the submission victory.

Takato Nakano stepped up to Naoki Tanizaki, throwing Chops when Tanizaki mocked him for being the “Youngster of BASARA”. Nakano kicked out of the Reverse Implant but fell to the normal version of the move. Nakano slapped the mat in disappointment after the match.

Yuko Miyamoto will be on the 1st October Korakuen Hall show. The event will celebrate Isami Kodaka’s 15th Anniversary in wrestling.

*Mike Bailey will cash in his Right To Challenge Anytime, Anywhere Contract.

A press conference was held at DDT HQ to promote the show today. It is confirmed that Mike Bailey will cash in his Right To Challenge contract to get a KO-D Openweight Title match against Konosuke Takeshita. Bailey was cheerful to a patronising degree. He described Takeshita’s perfect haircut, posture and clothing. Then he talked about wanting to be not just the greatest foreign wrestler ever in DDT but the greatest in DDT, full stop. He thinks everyone will agree when he beats Takeshita for the championship. Takeshita thinks this will be the most difficult title defence yet but he is also aware that Naomi Yoshimura could cash in his own title shot at any time during or after the match. Bailey then heaped more praise to the champion, saying he’s been watching videos and looking at pictures of him for years. Bailey said Takeshita is perfect. He thinks will still beat him, he just doesn’t know how. That led to Takeshita asking why Bailey has been applauding him so much in their matches recently. Bailey explained that where he’s from whenever a strong opponent appears you show him respect. Takeshita finished the call by saying the match is Japan Vs Canada. The international battle will help spread DDT across the globe so that means he will show everyone what a strong champion he is because he is fighting the toughest opponent in the world.
