BAKA GAIJIN + FRIENDS “VOL. 20: LIFE IS PEACHY”, 04/03/2025
Tokyo ARENA Shimokitazawa
??? Fans – Unannounced
1. Special Tag Match: Chris Brookes & Masahiro Takanashi defeated Shota & Soma Takao when Takanashi pinne Shota with the Bacchus (16:16).
2. Special Single Match: Hagane Shinno defeated Ram Kaichow with a Crushed Onryo Clutch (8:36).
3. Antonio Honda & Antonio Honda XL defeated Great King Ueki & Munek when Honda pinned Munek with the Super Bionic Elbow (11:58).
4. Special Single Match: Shuji Ishikawa defeated Mr. Bueno with the Running Knee Lift (15:03).
A big mystery challenge awaited Mr. Bueno at Baka Gaijin & Friends and they don’t come bigger than Shuji Ishikawa! Despite the intimidating first impression, Bueno told Ishikawa to “come on, big boy” when the match began. Ishikawa overpowered him early and would barely budge for Bueno’s attacks. The chops thrown by Ishikawa were strong enough to knock him into the rows of fans sitting in the room. But Bueno would not give up because he is a Baka Gaijin. The only way he could throw Ishikawa off his game was to make him corpse by calling him cute but even that couldn’t do much. Antonio Honda couldn’t stand by and watch Ueno get beaten up so he led all of the Baka Gaijin in a train attack on Ishikawa to finally knock the big dog off his feet. Bueno was able to hit a Diving Body Press from the bar counter but it only got him a 2 Count. He also dodged the Giant Driver, hit a Flying Somato and also found the power to do a Body Slam. In a last ditch effort he applied a Sleeper Hold. Sadly for him, Ishikawa powered out of it, Headbutted him, hit the Kamigoye and then did the Giant Driver. Bueno somehow kicked out so Ishikawa had to use the Running Knee Lift to win the match.
Three matches were advertised for the show. The unexpected fourth came when Takayuki Ueki and Munetatsu Nakamura showed up looking different than they normally do. They were now Great King Ueki and his servant Munek, possessed by an evil spirit from a magical vase they found a few days ago. They were here to crash the show and go chat up some cute girls in the audience. After they found one and held her captive, Antonio Honda & Antonio Honda XL came to the rescue, demanded “Princess Peach” be freed and challenged Ueki & Munek to a match. The Super Honda Brothers hit their opponents with Gongitsune and also the Super Bionic Elbow to win. As a result the fan was rescued, Ueki & Nakamura were freed from their spell and ARENA Shimokitazawa was safe once again.
Just taking a kick at the start of the match made Ram Kaichow realized she was in for a long night. Hagane Shinno’s wrestling skills outmatched her own and she was reaching her limit just trying to fight back. She was able to Choke Slam Shinno and hit him with a Low Blow to set up the Onryo Clutch. However Shinno blocked the Clutch and countered it into a cradle to pin Kaichow for the three count.
Later this month Chris Brookes and Masahiro Takanashi will face each other for the KO-D Openweight Title at DDT’s 28th Anniversary show. Today that was nothing to worry about because CDK were teaming up to face ROMANCE DAWN for the first time since their 2022 feud in Ganbare☆Pro. There were a lot of double team moves within the short space they fought in. A Neckbreaker/Dropkick combo got rid of Soma Takao but Shota kept fighting despite the numbers disadvantage. His luck ran out when Takanashi countered the Gannosuke Clutch into the Bacchus for the pinfall. The two teams gestured having another match together sometime. Takanashi then took a look at the KO-D Title and wished Brookes the best before leaving the room.
The next Baka Gaijin & Friends show will be on 15th April.

Yuki Ishida is still feeling unwell so he is no longer wrestling on this show. Kazuma Sumi takes his place in the opening match.

7. D GENERATIONS CUP 2025 – Final: Takeshi Masada Vs Yuya Koroku
A press conference was held by DDT today to promote the D GENERATIONS CUP final. It was there when Takeshi Masada and Yuya Koroku were told that the final is going to main event Korakuen Hall! The surprise completely threw Masada off guard because up until now he had everything calculated and going to plan. The final being moved to the main event wasn’t part of those calculations. He tried to play it cool and still thinks he will win and move on to challenge Chris Brookes for the KO-D Openweight Title. Koroku does not care who the KO-D Champion will be if he wins the final and gets the title shot instead.
Super Sasadango Machine takes Iino’s place in the Pheromones reunion match. That means the 3 Way Match he was originally booked for is now just Kazuki Hirata against Antonio Honda.

The Union MAX Title reign is off to a good start for Masato Kamino but is he becoming to smug about it? He has really become proud of his muscular body as of late. However Ryota Nakatsu thinks that Kamino loves himself so much it’s starting to overshadow BASARA and the MAX Title.
The guests for this show are Kuishinbo Kamen, Keisuke Ishii, Ayumu Honda and Akira Jo.

No need to worry about 121000000 being banned from Japan. They successfully defended the Princess Tag Team Titles in Chile and will have no trouble travelling home where Kyoraku Kyomei will be waiting for them.
Daisy Monkey are going to explode! One of the other mainstay tag teams in Tokyo Joshi Pro have an important match going on too. Suzume and Arisu Endo will be facing each other for the International Princess Title!
A match two and a half years in the making will finally happen. Willow Nightingale was supposed to face Miu Watanabe one on one back at “SUMMER SUN PRINCESS ’22” but travel issues cancelled her tour. While she eventually did get to wrestle in Japan with TJPW, the singles match with Watanabe never happened. It’s been a long wait but it’s finally going to take place next month!

6. BZW Tag Team Title – NELJAS Presents ~MAO Löyly~: MAO & Yoshihiko (c) Vs Chris Brookes & Masahiro Takanashi
The next sauna themed show from The 37KAMIINA has its full card with a bunch of sponsorships also applied. The ALL OUT match is going to be as advertised. Akito & Yuki Iino will face new (and improved?) versions of Konosuke Takeshita & Shunma Katsumata. If it turns out to be Sakura Hirota portraying both gimmicks at once then that’s wrestler of the year for 2025 already wrapped up.
Shinya Aoki has thrown his support behind Keigo Nakamura for the D GENERATIONS CUP. Nakamura might have made it to the final by the time they face off against each other on this show.
As for the 120℃ Temperature match, that sounds like something IWA Japan did for a video tape many, many years ago.
DDT “NEXT GENERATION 2025 ~KISARAGI ROMAN~”, 23/02/2025

3. Special Tag Match: Danshoku Dieno & Koju Takeda Vs Yuki Iino & Yumehito Imanari
4. D GENERATIONS CUP 2025 – Final: Winner Of A Block Vs Winner Of B Block
How big is the mech Bravern going to be when it stands face to face with Yukio Naya? Could Akito or Soma Takao find ways to trip it down or will they be handled by Yuki Ueno & MAO?
Tetsu Inada will return to DDT as a commentator for this match. The current Iron Man Heavymetalweight Champion is a cast member on the anime and has been spending his time proudly showing off the title belt to other voice actors from across the industry. There’s been a couple of title changes in that time that I’ll have to look up when I have the time. Inada is as of this writing the 1,711st champion.
BAKA GAIJIN + FRIENDS “VOL. 20”, 04/03/2025
Tokyo ARENA Shimokitazawa
1. Special Tag Match: Shota & Soma Takao Vs Chris Brookes & Masahiro Takanashi
The next Baka Gaijin + Friends show sees CDK taking on ROMANCE DAWN. It will be a rematch of their “WRESTLE SEKIGAHARA” bout from Ganbare☆Pro back in 2022. ROMANCE DAWN won that one. Can CDK get some revenge on their own home turf?
DDT “JUDGEMENT 2025 ~28TH ANNIVERSARY 5 HOUR SPECIAL~”, 20/03/2025
Tokyo Korakuen Hall
1. Kazusada Higuchi Return Match: Kazusada Higuchi Vs X
2. DDT Extreme Title: Danshoku Dieno (c) Vs Yuki Iino
3. DDT Universal Title: Yuki Ueno (c) Vs Minoru Suzuki
4. KO-D Openweight Title: Chris Brookes (c) Vs X
It’s been confirmed straight from the devil’s mouth. Minoru Suzuki will challenge Yuki Ueno for the DDT Universal Title! The championship itself does not have any particular special value to Suzuki but the fact that Ueno dared call him out for the match has him interested.
M&A “SANSHIRO TAKAGI 30TH ANNIVERSARY PROJECT ~MATCHMAKE & AGENT~”, 09/04/2025
Tokyo Ueno Park Outdoor Stage
1. Special Tag Match: Yuji Nagata & Kuroshio TOKYO Japan Vs Brahman Shu & Brahman Kei
The concept for Sanshiro Takagi’s recent 30th Anniversary show worked out so well that he wants to continue doing it, once again without the need for DDT contracted talent to be involved. Thus the creation of MatchMake & Agent Pro Wrestling which Takagi is planning to hold a show once every two months at least up to the summer. He definitely has the vast amount of connections to keep the cards fresh. The first match though is coming out of the anniversary show. Yuji Nagata & Kuroshio TOKYO Japan are teaming together as a pair of “Ikemen” to take on The Brahman Brothers!
DDT “DDT GOES LAS VEGAS!”, 18/04/2025
Pearl Theater At Palms Casino Resort, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA
1. Special Single Match: Antonio Honda Vs Santana Jackson
The first match for DDT’s trip to Las Vegas has been revealed and it sure has left me speechless. Santana Jackson is a Michael Jackson gimmick who regularly goes viral for incorporating Michael’s spots into his wrestling matches. Apparently whenever Japanese fans find footage of him it’s DDT who get the requests to bring him over. Antonio Honda must be looking forward to the match too given how much he loves classic American pop culture.

4. BK-G Openweight Title Decision Match: Chris Brookes defeated Ram Kaichow with the Praying Mantis Bomb (12:51).
*Chris Brookes becomes the 1st BK-G Openweight Champion!
Back in December Chris Brookes made a promise. If he was to successfully defend the KO-D Openweight Title at DDT’s end of the year Sumo Hall show then he will start defending the belt inside ARENA Shimokitazawa. He won that match and wanted to live up to his word at today’s first Baka Gaijin + Friends show of the year. He wanted to do it, Ram Kaichow wanted to have the title match and Daisuke Kiso was ready to let it happen. However a drunk Yukinori Matsui stepped in and stopped it from taking place. He expected something like this was going to happen and he could not let a championship as important as the KO-D Title be defended here. But since Brookes and Kaichow wanted to have a title match so badly, Matsui and Mic Inoue brought along something for them to fight over. It is a homemade title belt called the BK-G Openweight Championship!
Now that a championship match was taking place after all, Matsui and Inoue instantly sobered up to officiate and announce a match that would determine the first ever BK-G Champion. Kaichow blocked the Praying Mantis Bomb and got a nearfall with a Choke Slam. Masahiro Takanashi tried to interfere but it backfired, causing him and Brookes to argue with each other. Kaichow threw Ectoplasm at them but they ducked and Matsui got blinded instead. Kaichow fought off CDK with more Ectoplasm and hit Brookes with the Rainmaker. However Matsui was too blind to see Kaichow pinning Brookes with the Onryo Clutch. Kaichow slapped the sight back into him but left herself vulnerable to a High Kick from Brookes. She kicked out of the Somato but Brookes finally put her away with the Praying Mantis Bomb to win the new title!
How do you do a match to celebrate Antonio Honda’s 20th Anniversary without having Honda there to take part? You send MAO out there dressed in Honda’s gear and have him wrestle as Antonio Honda XL! MAO used many of Honda’s tricks against Hagane Shinno from calling time outs to injuring his knee and telling Gongitsune jokes. When all of that stuff was out of the way, the two traded cradles and nearfalls until the time limit expired. MAO and Shinno raised each other’s hands after the match and left the room together shoulder to shoulder.
Takayuki Ueki was given a surprise opponent in the form of Hideki Suzuki! Ueki requested the match be Best 3 Out Of 5 Falls but immediately lost the first to falls to a Sleeper Hold. Knowing that he can’t beat him in a wrestling match, Ueki then challenged Suzuki to a Push Sumo fight for the 3rd fall. Suzuki easily beat him again. However he didn’t want to let Ueki leave like this so he agreed to fight him for the remaining two falls and if Ueki won the remaining falls he would be declared the winner outright. They decided the 4th Fall would be a game of Jenga but Ueki even lost at that. Fed up with losing, Ueki declared the 5th fall would be a proper wrestling match worth 100 points! Then as soon as the bell rang Ueki pulled out his gun and threatened Suzuki with it. Suzuki went along with Ueki’s demands until he got close enough to disarm him. But Ueki pulled out another gun and we suddenly got a standoff! Ueki shot Suzuki’s gun out of his hand and got cocky, allowing Suzuki to get his gun back and suddenly hold Ueki at gunpoint! Ueki lost his nerve and gave up. When he tried to give a speech after the match, Suzuki shot him in his limbs and walked off.
The opening match saw the return of ChieDK. Takanashi was teaming with Chie Koishikawa which meant Koishikawa got to be Chie Brookes again! Mr. Malo brought a glass bottle to the fight late in the match but Munetatsu Nakamura stopped him from using it as a weapon. Takanashi grabbed the bottle off him but Chie too didn’t want him to swing it at the opponents. Malo and Chie fought over the bottle and Malo ended up physically forcing Chie to smash it over Takanashi’s head. He then rolled up Chie with a School Boy to get the three count.
At the end of the show everyone sang Happy Birthday to Takanashi, MAO and Kiso because they all have birthdays coming soon. Ueki then told them his birthday had already happened (3rd January) so Brookes let him close out the show.
The next Baka Gaijin show will be on 4th March.

Yuki Kamifuku & Wakana Uehara are bonding together with a “Ayase Town Hills New Hills” style and had a much easier time in the 2nd Round than they did in the 1st. The difficulty level for them has ramped way back up because their next opponents are Pompaler. The tactic of Max The Impaler throwing Pom Harajuku at the nearest opponent hasn’t been beat yet in the tournament so far. Kyoraku Kyomei are one step away from reaching the final for a second time. However Shoko Nakajima & Hyper Misao know full well not to let their guards down now, especially after HIMAWARI & Shino Suzuki scored a little bit of an upset to reach this far.
It didn’t take long for the newcomer Mifu Ashida to be thrown into the ring with Mizuki. The champ needs some fresh meat.
DDT “NEW YEAR, NEW HERO. 2025 ~A NEW STORY BEGINS~”, 26/01/2025
Tokyo Korakuen Hall
1. Soma Takao & Yukio Naya Vs Yuki Iino & Daichi Sato
2. MAO & Toru Owashi Vs Masahiro Takanashi & Antonio Honda
3. Daisuke Sasaki, KANON & MJ Paul Vs Jun Akiyama, HARASHIMA & Tomomitsu Matsunaga
4. Road To D GENERATIONS CUP 2025! Special 8-Man Tag Match: Takeshi Masada, Keigo Nakamura, Ilusion & Yuki Ishida Vs To-y, Yuya Koroku, Yuni & Kazuma Sumi
5. DDT Extreme Title – Life’s Sparkle Rules: Danshoku Dieno (c) Vs Gorgeous Matsuno
6. DDT Universal Title: Gringo Loco (c) Vs Yuki Ueno
7. KO-D Openweight Title: Chris Brookes (c) Vs Shuji Ishikawa
Chris Brookes has figured out he cannot become stronger than Shuji Ishikawa, but he can become more handsome than his challenger. He has been taking care of his face by wearing face masks every day until the show takes place. He also promised to win the match so Ishikawa will not sing karaoke in Korakuen Hall again.
Only a one count will be needed to win the DDT Extreme Title match. Danshoku Dieno came up with the idea because he wants to see Gorgeous Matsuno fight with all of his might. The most important thing in life is the next second in front of you. A person’s experience does not matter if they don’t make the most of that second.

BASARA “BASARA 267 ~HIEN~”, 21/01/2025
Shin-Kiba 1st RING
1. Inaugural Rumble: Isami Kodaka Vs Takumi Tsukamoto Vs Ryuichi Sekine Vs FUMA Vs KUBITO Vs Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi Vs Daichi Kazato Vs SAGAT Vs Gouma Ryu Vs Tsutomu Oosugi
2. Daiki Shimomura Vs Takeru Inoue
3. Takato Nakano & Lil’ Kraken Vs Yasu Urano & Banana Senga
4. Ryota Nakatsu & Masato Kamino Vs Daisuke Sekimoto & Kuma Arashi
There are two strong opponents who Masato Kamino lost to in singles matches last year that he wants to fight again. They are Daisuke Sekimoto & Kuma Arashi. Kamino wants to settle the score in one match so he asked BASARA to bring them back together as a tag team for him to fight. Kamino also decided he won’t team with Takato Nakano because they will soon fight each other for the Union MAX Title. Instead, Ryota Nakatsu will be Kamino’s partner for this match.
It’s Royal Rumble season so add BASARA to the growing list of companies that are doing their own version of the match this year.
BAKA GAIJIN + FRIENDS “VOL. 19: INVESTIGATION OF A CITIZEN ABOVE SUSPICION”, 21/01/2025
Tokyo ARENA Shimokitazawa
1. Special Tag Team Match: MAO & Masahiro Takanashi Vs Mr. Bueno & Munetatsu Nakamura
2. Special Single Match: Ram Kaichow Vs Chris Brookes
Trust Baka Gaijin + Friends to still come up with first time matchups with a limited size roster. Chris Brookes and Ram Kaichow have fought each other plenty of times before in multi-person matches. This will be their first one on one matchup together.
DDT “NEW YEAR, NEW HERO. 2025 ~A NEW STORY BEGINS~”, 26/01/2025
Tokyo Korakuen Hall
1. DDT Extreme Title: Danshoku Dieno (c) Vs Gorgeous Matsuno
2. DDT Universal Title: Gringo Loco (c) Vs Yuki Ueno
3. KO-D Openweight Title: Chris Brookes (c) Vs Shuji Ishikawa
According to both DDT and Gringo Loco he has defended the DDT Universal Title twice in North America. One was in Canada for Demand Lucha and I cannot for the life of me find where or when the second one took place. For his third defence he is nominating Yuki Ueno because he stands out the most to Loco. It will be Loco’s first time defending the title in Japan.
Danshoku Dieno made the decision to defend the DDT Extreme Title against Gorgeous Matsuno because he does not know if they will ever get another chance to do the match. Matsuno is still known to the public for a public divorce he went through in the 1990s where he was accused by his wife at the time of abuse. The divorce was finalised but it was also ruled by the court that there was no evidence to support the accusation. Dieno only knows Matsuno through his wrestling career and feels the need to have a heart to heart match while he still holds the Extreme Title. Dieno also wants a contract signed that says no one will be responsible for anything that happens in the ring during the match.

In the main event Yuna Manase gets her rematch with MICHIKO with the Kitsune World Title once again on the line.
HARUKAZE will not be wrestling at the show because of her busy schedule. However she will try to get there by rushing to the venue as soon as her other scheduled event is over.

TOKYO JOSHI PRO “GRAND PRINCESS ’25”, 16/03/2025
Tokyo Ota Ward Gymnasium
1. Princess Of Princess Title: Mizuki (c) Vs Rika Tatsumi
It must be fate. “GRAND PRINCESS ’25” is taking place on Mizuki’s birthday and she will be defending the Princess Of Princess Title against a person who has adored her since probably the first day they met. Rika Tatsumi was the last woman standing in the Battle Royal to win this shot so she could finally make this fantasy come true.

That’s it. The crystal ball is going in the bin! I’m doing things a bit different this year because I’ve run out of unique predictions for this article. The only things I could think of were the usual ideas. Things like X wins a championship, Y jumps to another promotion, Z takes part in an angle and so on. But before I post my look into 2025 let’s get this out of the way.
DDT
X. Naomi Yoshimura returns from injury and gets a singles push.
X. Kento Miyahara will be at “WRESTLE PETER PAN 2024”.
X. Sanshiro Takagi fights Hiroshi Tanahashi in a battle of the presidents!
X. Somebody (or something) from WWE wins the Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title.
X. Tetsuya Endo should go on an overseas excursion.
We did get to see Naomi Yoshimura hanging around DDT shows quite a bit this year but he’s still not ready to wrestle matches again. Hopefully next year we’ll hear how he is progressing with his rehab training. The DDT Vs All Japan rivalry disappeared after Springtime, right around the time DDT wrestlers started appearing at the NOAH “LIMIT BREAK” shows. So no Kento Miyahara appearance which I think is a missed opportunity. Sanshiro Takagi and Hiroshi Tanahashi teamed up instead of fighting with each other for “ALL TOGETHER”. The Iron Man Heavymetalweight Title didn’t go near the WWE at all unless the “Strange Foreigner” that attacked Sayaka Unagi before her MLW appearance turns out to be somebody who was under a WWE deal. Tetsuya Endo’s only match in America this year was in DDT anyway.
Tokyo Joshi Pro
✓. Somebody from the 2023 Class scores a pinfall on a TJPW veteran.
X. Mizuki Vs Rika Tatsumi finally happens… in the Tokyo Princess Cup.
X. Maki Itoh wins the GCW World Heavyweight Championship.
X. Aja Kong takes on a regular role in TJPW.
✓. Miyu Yamashita and Maki Itoh remain with TJPW for the year.
Take a bow Shino Suzuki for scoring a pinfall on Shoko Nakajima just days before the year ends. It was a 2 Count pinfall but I included that when I predicted it. I could also try to be cheeky and say Zara Zakher getting a few big wins counts as somebody from the 2023 Class beating a veteran but that would go against the spirit of the prediction. I just meant Tokyo Joshi Pro trained wrestlers, not anybody who started wrestling in 2023. No Mizuki Vs Rika Tatsumi match is a booking decision that still confuses me. Maki Itoh won the GCW Extreme Title instead of their World Title, so I was close with that one. Aja Kong still makes TJPW appearances here and there but not enough that I would call her a regular part of the company. The one thing I got right all year is Miyu Yamashita and Itoh staying with TJPW. I don’t think the timing is there for either of them to leave the company yet.
Ganbare☆Pro Wrestling
X. Ken Ohka Wins The Spirit Of Ganbare Title From Isami Kodaka.
X. The Ganbare☆Climax returns.
1/2✓. Yuna Manase returns from injury and feuds with YuuRI.
X. A mixed gender tag team wins the Spirit Of Ganbare Tag Titles.
X. A Stardom wrestler appears on a Ganbare☆Joshi show.
The Spirit Of Ganbare Title went from Isami Kodaka to Shuichiro Katsumura, not Ken Ohka. There was no return of the Ganbare☆Climax tournament. I don’t think Ganbare☆Pro has the ability in their current position to pull off something like that unless it was on a smaller scale. Yuna Manase did return from injury but teamed up with YuuRI instead of feuding against her. The two of them also challenged for the Spirit Of Ganbare Tag Titles together but failed to win them. The Ganbare☆Joshi branding hasn’t been used a lot lately so there was no chance of anyone from Stardom showing up. Kind of happened with TJPW though.
Miscellaneous
X. A DDT wrestler makes a full time jump over to BASARA.
X. Konosuke Takeshita wrestles in the main event of an AEW PPV.
X. Yuka Sakazaki becomes the first ROH Women’s TV Champion.
X. Baka Gaijin + Friends runs a show at Shin-Kiba 1st RING.
1/2✓. The 2024 New Year’s Eve Shuffle Tag Tournament lasts past midnight again.
Nobody made a full jump from DDT to BASARA. There were a couple of times Kazusada Higuchi and Masahiro Takanashi appeared but not enough to count as a regular. Konosuke Takeshita had a few AEW PPV appearances this year but none of them closed out the show. Yuka Sakazaki wasn’t part of the tournament to crown the first ROH Women’s TV Title. The only time Baka Gaijin + Friends went outside of ARENA Shimokitazawa was for “FUCKED UP FEST” and that was not at Shin-Kiba 1st RING. Last but not least, there was a show at Korakuen Hall on New Year’s Eve that went past midnight but it was not the Shuffle Tag Tournament. Big Japan instead did their own thing to take them into the new year. Screw it I’m giving myself half a point for that. Right, onto something new for 2025.
