On paper the Union MAX Title match just added is a DDT Vs BASARA contest. However Masahiro Takanashi wants the match to just be about himself facing Ryuichi Sekine for the title. This isn’t about promotions or having allies like Sento Minzoku. It’s simply one on one to see who is better.

Unfortunately it has been confirmed that Kazusada Higuchi and Natsumi Maki are both unable to participate on the show because of their injuries.

Ryuichi Sekine overcame a spirited effort from SAGAT to defend the Union MAX Title. Afterwards SAGAT called Sekine the people’s champion and the older brother to the rest of the BASARA locker room (that means Isami Kodaka is the dad). Sekine said he will next defend the belt at Sumo Hall this November for DDT “ULTIMATE PARTY 2019!” and it can be against anybody. His challenged was answered when DDT’s Masahiro Takanashi came out! He told Sekine he wants to fight a strong champion so let him fight for the MAX Title. Sekine accepted and said he will win for BASARA. Takanashi told him this isn’t about DDT or BASARA. He is only wrestling for himself in this match. Sekine said that’s great. If Takanashi will wrestle on his own then so will Sekine.

Takumi Tsukamoto was given a bouquet to celebrate his recent 10th anniversary in wrestling. It was presented to him by the woman who designed his new ring gear. The UWA World 6-Man Tag Team Titles match was held under Tornado Tag rules. Tsukamoto used a Gory Special to position FUMA into a Backslide Pin for the victory. FUMA didn’t realise he was pinned and continued fighting with Tsukamoto after the match. While this was going on the Sparky wrestlers grabbed the UWA 6-Man Tag Titles and left the ring with them. The champion team then chased after them.

Jun Masaoka has been asking for a match with Isami Kodaka for some time. Today he finally got it. Kodaka pinned Masaoka with a Modified Samson Clutch when Masaoka left his guard down. Kodaka gave Masaoka the middle finger but Masaoka still asked him for a rematch.

The IRON FIST TAG TOURNAMENT (IFTT for short) will be held on the 13th and 23rd of October. The giant trophy was brought out and Kodaka entered the ring carrying two new championship belts. He announced that this year’s IFTT winners will be crowned the first IRON FIST Tag Team Champions! He joked the belts got made just in time before Japan’s consumption tax increase.

Ohka’s example is the jacket and ten gallon hat he wore during his absence from Ganpro shows last year.

Cody Hall is the mystery wrestler in the opener. He met Antonio Honda and got along with him because the Gongitsune hand gesture resembles the Wolfpac gesture that Cody’s dad Scott Hall is known for.

The BOYZ brand is getting a fresh start under Akito’s management. Wrestlers booked on the first show will also be appearing at the SHIBUYA FASHION AWARD-BE Vint-Age 2019 festival the same day to promote a fashion brand called Yukihero Pro Wrestling. The main event will feature the wrestlers involved wearing costumes from that clothing line.

Akito doesn’t remember ever seeing MAO wrestle Takeshita in a singles match so he decided to book it before MAO’s excursion. Kouki Iwasaki is being booked on BOYZ because Akito wants to see him interact with DDT wrestlers more often. Higuchi and Yuki Iino are also being booked despite their alliance to the YaroZ brand. Akito believes there are women at these shows who find those kind of men attractive too. Akito plans to present them in a way that makes them more suitable for the BOYZ brand. DAMNATION wrestlers are disallowed except for Nobuhiro Shimatani because he works under Akito at the Drop Kick Bar.

Will there be more coming out of this? Wouldn’t be a party without surprises, would it?

The American indy Game Changer Wrestling is currently making a splash in Japan and a visit to BASARA was on the cards for one G-Raver. The reason was simple, G-Raver wanted to avenge a loss to Isami Kodaka he suffered in GCW last year. The BASARA fans welcomed him with GCW chants but Kodaka was not so friendly towards him. The two sat down on chairs and hit each other with steel cans until Raver got busted open. Raver took over and put Kodaka through a table with a Diving Body Press out of the ring. A ladder came into play and Raver gave Kodaka a Suplex from the top of it. In the end Kodaka got the victory by hitting the Isamiashi Zan kick. Kodaka told G-Raver that he has beaten him twice now but is not against fighting him a third time. He called everyone in GCW crazy guys who came to Japan because they wanted to shed blood over here. He praised them for being a really crazy and good organisation. Kodaka & G-Raver shared beers and had a toast to GCW.

SAGAT was the last man standing in the Elimination Tag match. That was a big surprise for Ryuichi Sekine because he thought SAGAT was done for when he was knocked onto the edge of the apron. SAGAT fought back and stunned Sekine with a Headbutt. He then got back into the ring and hit Sekine from behind with the Goregrind for the upset win. SAGAT challenged Sekine to a Union MAX Title match afterwards.

Fuminori Abe was brought to wrestling court charged with lying about his education when he applied to join BASARA. He claimed to be a high school student when he is allegedly a junior high school student. Gouma Ryu defended Abe by saying he is a monk (he was dressed as one) so he does not do scams. Abe explained he attended high school at 16 but got suspended after a motorcycle accident. He dropped out of school three months later. Ryu and Banana Senga attacked Abe over this new found information but Abe fought both of them off. He then revealed that since dropping out he eventually returned to high school and graduated with a communications degree. The court declared him not guilty.

It’s only his first defence but Ryuichi Sekine has removed arguably the biggest threat of his Union MAX Title reign by beating Isami Kodaka with a dangerously close finish. After a tense 25 minutes of fighting, both men were reduced to throwing every kick they could at each other. Sekine and Kodaka were both at their limit and struggling to stand to the point where they were at risk of being counted out. After another back and forth both men were laid out with Sekine getting the last strike with a Right High Kick. Sekine was barely able to get up by the count of 9 but Kodaka was down and out. Sekine thanked Kodaka for the match but admitted he does not feel like he exceeded him today. Beating him once isn’t enough to achieve that. BASARA will be going independent soon so Sekine will follow Kodaka into independence! He also said he will defend the MAX Title against any other wrestler on the BASARA roster.

Any attempt to bring harmony among The Iron Family went right out the window with their tag match. The Hiroshi du Soleil team pushed each other during their entrance while the IRON PRIEST team came out separately despite using the same song. The dissension within both teams got worse to the point where the tag team match looked more like a 4 Way Match. The match was called off when the referee Yuya Okada got knocked out during the chaos. Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi got the match to restart but this time as a 4 Way. When FUMA won, Hiroshi began singing “Imagine” which reduced FUMA to tears. FUMA said he never thought Hiroshi was into metal or rock music but here he is singing a song from the source of heavy metal… The Beatles!(?) Yusuke Kubo and SAGAT joined in the hug and all four forgave each other. The bonds of The Iron Family have been healed!

The main event of “FUMA FEST VOL.3” is FUMA Vs TAJIRI in a Hardcore Match. The show will take place on 16th November.

Manase doesn’t get what Imanari is trying to do, she is only focusing on her match. And er… at least I think it is a match. The set up is the main event features the Pocchaminator, a cyborg from the year 2050 that has traveled back in time to kill people who have a BMI value above a certain level on behalf of major advertising agencies. The resistance is led by one person. Not Yuna Manase but Mana Connor! If she cannot stop the P-800 then there is no future for Pocchari Joshi Pro!

Konosuke Takeshita’s mother Keiko is a special ambassador on the show. She will oversee the match between Imanari and her son. Imanari hopes that Keiko will show as much love for him as she does for her own son.

I thought this show was just supposed to be a Trainspotting parody…

That last one he shares with the MAX Champ Ryuichi Sekine so Sekine is also one belt away from becoming a triple champion himself.

Konosuke Takeshita found out that Danshoku Dieno is putting him through a series of high level opponents in order to prepare for his match with Shinya Aoki. Takeshita doesn’t know what to expect out of this.

The plan was to have Saki Akai team with Su Yung but Akai has the day off and will not be changing her plans. Instead Akai has made DDT book a distant non-blood relative of hers simply named Saki. Her name is written as “娑鬼” which can be translated to “Demon”. Akai claim the only times they have met in person were when they were children. Even then her memory of what Saki looks like is blurry. Akai drew a picture of what she thinks Saki looks like now. She assures to everyone that Saki is not part of the UMA Corps (Akai isn’t liked by them) but she is not certain if she is a human or a demon. Akai used her parents to contact Saki in the Kyoto mountains to set up this match with Yung against Asuka & Makoto.

Puma King is back in DDT for the first time since January.

This show will feature the DDT debut of Santino Marella! It will be his first appearance in DDT but he is a former Iron Man Champion.

1. Naoki Tanizaki & Akiyori Takizawa defeated Takumi Tsukamoto & Masato Kamino when Tanizaki submitted Kamino with a Ground Arm Wrapped Manjigatame (10:28).
2. Isami Kodaka, Daiki Shimomura & Takato Nakano defeated SAGAT, Best Stretchman V3 & Yasu Urano when Kodaka pinned SAGAT with a Crucifix Pin (12:20).
3. Fuminori Abe defeated Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi with a Cross Heel Hold (12:28).
4. Sakigake!! Iron Family Vs Aikata Tag: Ikuto Hidaka & Minoru Fujita defeated FUMA & Yusuke Kubo when Hidaka pinned Kubo with a Sorarina (15:20).
5. Union MAX Title: Ryuichi Sekine defeated Ryota Nakatsu (c) with the Let’s Combine (28:15).
*Ryota Nakatsu fails in V6. Ryuichi Sekine becomes the 12th Union MAX Champion!

The two men that made up Cavalry fought each other today for the Union MAX Title and in a big result it was Ryuichi Sekine who came out on top! The match almost reached the half hour point when Sekine put all of his weight down on the Let’s Combine to make Ryota Nakatsu give up. Nakatsu admitted that Sekine was too strong for him and this was a complete victory for the new champion. Sekine thanked the fans for spending the last day of Golden Week at the BASARA show.

Minoru Fujita complained to Ikuto Hidaka before their match because Hidaka hasn’t grown a tail yet. He didn’t want to team with a tailless person.

There were plenty of new championships on show during the day. Fuminori Abe arrived with the UWA World Middleweight Title he won at K-DOJO last Thursday. Isami Kodaka brought the BJW Death Match Title he only just won in Big Japan yesterday.

Abe wanted to wrestle barefoot with Trans-Am ★ Hiroshi to make it an even fight. He started screaming when Hiroshi sang during the match. Hiroshi tried to take advantage but his Scorpion Deathlock was countered into an Achilles Tendon Hold and then turned into a Cross Heel Hold to make Hiroshi tap out.
