The last time Shunma Katsumata and Hideki Okatani fought for the Extreme Title, Katsumata won the match but also fractured a bone in his foot. That forced him to vacate the title. Ever since then both he and Okatani dreamed of having a rematch with the same championship on the line. That has now become a reality after Okatani became the No. 1 Contender this week. Katsumata said he will come up with a match stipulation that both of them will approve of.

Tetsuya Endo & Yuki Iino are the new KO-D Tag Team Champions and want to defend the belts against anyone no matter where they come from. Well here comes Ryuki Honda & Yuma Anzai from AJPW! They had fun wrestling in DDT earlier this week that they want to fight in DDT even more and against stronger opponents. Endo & Iino promised to show them just how much depth DDT has.

Before GanPro goes independent, Ken Ohka must fight his soon to be ex-boss Sanshiro Takagi! Ohka feels the need to face Takagi and defeat him in the first step towards making GanPro grow bigger than DDT. For Takagi this is the biggest test he can give Ohka to see if he will handle his upcoming responsibilities with all of his effort. If Ohka does this half-heartedly then Takagi will destroy him and that could mean DDT will destroy GanPro too!

Yoshihiko has gotten itself into trouble after getting double booked this weekend. It will be travelling to Europe with MAO to wrestle in France and England. However DDT had also booked Yoshihiko for their show in Nagano this Sunday. It’s too late to change plans so DDT is pulling their other battle doll Akihiro out of storage to take Yoshihiko’s place. The company has strictly warned Yoshihiko not to double book itself like that again. However MAO is defending his friend because their European dates were booked well in advance and MAO has been promoting them online since December so DDT had plenty of time to avoid this scenario.

The DDT Extreme Title picture has a new direction after Shunma Katsumata regained the championship over the weekend and two potential challengers approached him. Hideki Okatani wants to rekindle his rivalry with Katsumata over the title from last year. However MJ Paul has also stepped forward wanting a title shot, even going through the effort to write a letter to declare his challenge. A fight broke out between everyone over the situation so a decision was made to have Okatani and Paul fight each other in a No. 1 Contender’s Match.

The Max Heart Tournament could get its first two-time winner if Daydream beats Daisy Monkey in the final. The tournament winners usually move on to challenge for the Princess Tag Team Titles and Rika Tatsumi previously made a suggestion that Miu Watanabe can do two title matches at “GRAND PRINCESS ’24”. Watanabe would go along with the idea even if she isn’t super enthusiastic about it. Suzume & Arisu Endo keep finding ways to get shots at the top teams, Daydream included, but it always ends in failure for them. Will this turn out differently?

Juria Nagano is making sure to do as much as she can in the ring before her graduation in April. Her big goal is to win a championship or tournament. She couldn’t do it in the Max Heart Tournament so now she wants to challenge Yuki Arai for the International Princess Title. Nagano sees Arai as a wrestling senpai to surpass rather than some big celebrity.

The next foreign wrestler to enter Tokyo Joshi Pro is Zara Zakher from the California wrestling scene. She is 22 years old and only been wrestling for a year but her talent and potential as a breakout prospect leads her over to TJPW. Mizuki has been selected to be her opponent for her Korakuen Hall debut.

The opening match is going to give either Shino Suzuki or Haru Kazashiro their first singles win.

Ryo Mizunami and Ram Kaichow are both paying a visit here again.

A request was made by Yuki Ueno to defend the KO-D Openweight Title against Danshoku Dieno. He wanted his next challenger to be the most interesting person in DDT since the championship is more than just about who is the strongest. There is already a singles match between them booked for The 37KAMIINA’s produce show in Shinjuku FACE. To make his point even clearer, Ueno convinced DDT to turn that match into a KO-D Title bout because it does not matter to him where it takes place. This will be the first KO-D Title match held in front of an audience in around 8 years. Dieno warns Ueno that there’s a reason why the company never wants him to win that championship even if he symbolises the spirit of DDT more than anyone else. The entire direction of the KO-D Title will change if Dieno gets his hands on it!

Kazuki Hirata gets to keep his spot on the show despite turning down The 37KAMIINA’s offer to join their unit. He now has his mind set on creating his own stable and he is searching for potential members.

The novelty of TAKA Michinoku being on the show has now gotten awkward. A few days ago he announced a K-DOJO tribute show scheduled for April after seemingly being inspired by the Arsion reunion that took place earlier this month. That by itself is a crazy idea due to TAKA’s role in why K-DOJO went away in the first place. He had a scandal in 2018 when it was discovered he was cheating on his wife along with allegations of other kinds of bad behavior. TAKA then left the company early in 2019, taking his students with him and establishing JTO a few months later. With him gone, K-DOJO rebranded/rebuilt itself into 2AW and the split was complete. The response to TAKA’s plans for the reunion got mixed reactions online. There was enough of a negative response to make him reconsider and put the concept on ice for the time being. If that wasn’t enough, retired wrestler Tank Nagai then started tweeting about his memories of working under TAKA’s management in K-DOJO. A lot of it was bad. So now we have to see if the bad vibes from this story follows over to TAKA’s appearance in DDT this Sunday.

The debut match for Kaisei Takechi on 25th February will be announced during this show.

It has not been confirmed yet but Yuna Manase has challenged Sayaka Unagi to a Mixed Tag Match for Manase’s return to the ring. Manase already has already chosen her tag partner and wants to see who Unagi will find. The two women fought each other at the first “WRESTLE SEKIGAHARA” in 2022. Unagi won that match and Manase holds no grudge over it. In fact she made it publicly known that Unagi was often one of the first people to get in touch with her for almost every step of the way in her recovery process. Their friendship is why Unagi was always going to be Manase’s opponent for her first match back.

A big title challenge is coming up for Yoshiko Hasegawa. She has teamed with and fought against Yuu over in Ganbare☆Joshi recently and the EVE International Title that Yuu carries around has caught her eye. This will be her first championship match. Hasegawa had wanted it to happen at the next GanJo show on 12th February but Yuu is already booked for Sendai Girls that day. So the match will take place in GanPro a little later on the 23rd instead.

During the week Maya Yukihi discovered the existence of the KO-D 10-Man Tag Team Titles and wanted to fight for the belts with other members of Rebel X Enemy. The group normally consists of four members but Maika Ozaki is unavailable so Yukihi needed to find two more people to team with herself, Ram Kaichow & Rina Yamashita. Luckily for her the DDT management are stepping in to help out. Sanshiro Takagi & Akito have agreed to join the challenger team and since Kaichow is also sometimes nicknamed “Chairman” the alliance has been named Executive X Enemy. Meanwhile the champion team is subbing in Chris Brookes for Takayuki Ueki. As long as at least three members of the champion team are in the match the title shot can go ahead.

I’m starting to think D.O.A coming up with that name for themselves was a bad idea. The phrase “Dead Or Alive” is so common that there are plenty of wrestlers out there who claim they used it first. After the unit dealt with Bodyguard’s complaints they then found out Hikaru Sato is upset with them because he thinks they stole his catchphrase. Sato sent Kazusada Higuchi to tell them they should defend both the name and the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles against them. Sato & Higuchi will be joined by Ryo Kawamura. The previous times Kawamura has appeared in DDT he’s been using different Sylvester Stallone gimmicks (Rocky Kawamura, Rambo Kawamura, Rocky Kawamura II, etc). He might be coming back just as himself this time.

The birthday match for MAO is a special one because he gets to team with TAKA Michinoku for the first time ever! Michinoku has been a big influence for him over the years and has inspired a lot of his moveset.

The title match will happen in Katsumura’s hometown of Yokohama.

Currently all tickets for this show has sold out so DDT will be adding additional seating to go on sale later this week. That’s how much of a hot ticket Kaisei Takechi’s debut match is. Takechi has a black belt in Judo and has been coached by Yuki Ueno in training. For that reason Takechi would like to team with Ueno for his first match. The 25 year old also wants to face opponents who are in the same age range as him because competition within the young generation is going to liven up the wrestling world. He cannot commit to a full match schedule due to his work with THE RAMPAGE but he would like to wrestle more after his debut. He currently weighs 77kg but feels his body as it is now is only built for dancing. So he is bulking up and aims to weigh in at 85kg for the match. Takechi is also trying to figure out what wrestling move he wants to use as his signature. When he dances he often raises his right fist into the air and shouts “THE RAMPAGE” so he wants to come up with something that will follow that.

A free outdoor pro wrestling show is being put together by Ryuichi Sekine and Nodoka Tenma in a little village found on the northwest side of Okayama. The couple run a farm together in Shinjo Village and want people to get to know the area better. So they have come up with Gaisen Sakura Pro Wrestling an event built around agriculture, food and wrestling. The wrestling portion of the event will be split into two parts. One part will be a men’s wrestling show featuring talent from BASARA. The other part with be a women’s show with TJPW involved. If the event is a success then the plan will be to make it an annual tradition held every April when the cherry blossoms are in bloom.

“WRESTLE PRINCESS IV” is on the minds of everybody in Tokyo Joshi Pro as the big show is approaching closer. A mixture of wrestlers preparing for the event faced off in today’s main event, combining a few of the championship matchups. Free WiFi was the reason for their team winning against the Toyo Mates. They gave Mahiro Kiryu the 5G and would have won then if it wasn’t for Maki Itoh breaking the pin. Hikari Noa kept her nerve and pinned Kiryu with the Blizzard Suplex for the finish.

Mizuki told the audience afterwards nobody here wants to lose. Rika Tatsumi agreed and hoped Max The Impaler was watching on Wrestle Universe. Mizuki later admitted she was disappointed with her performance in the match because she cannot relax when she’s against Miyu Yamashita and her kick heavy offence. Nao Kakuta shared her frustration backstage, she believes she was the most useless person on her team today even though the team won. Noa assured her that their “curse” will end at Tama Mirai Messe. When Kakuta heard that she said she is ready to throw away her nickname of “Uncrowned Queen”. Over in the Toyo Mates camp Yuki Kamifuku said just trying hard is not enough these days. It reminds her of an audition she once took for a fashion show. The fashion designer rejected her because she lacked an overwhelming aura. She figured out she was missing something like a championship belt to display her power. She now wants to win the Princess Tag Team Titles with Kiryu to make that designer regret ever turning her down! Kiryu gained motivation when she heard that story.

Sakisama told the audience the next time they will see her and Mei Saint-Michel in the ring will be along with Yukio Saint Laurent & Martha at “WRESTLE PRINCESS IV”. She didn’t have any much of an opinion on Shino Suzuki. She did notice a fiery look in her eyes but she’ll probably forget it by tomorrow. Saint-Michel thinks “the pink muscular one” Miu Watanabe is so cool. Sakisama told her NEO Biishiki-gun doesn’t need a person like Watanabe in the group nowadays.

A week later Brookes and Akai will face each other in another title match, this time with Eruption defending the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles in Akai’s hometown.

Takeshi Masada has begun a campaign to get himself into this year’s D-Ou Grand Prix. He asked DDT to put him in a few singles matches to prove he is worthy of taking part in the tournament. First up is KANON, a wrestler who had a poor time in last year’s D-Ou GP. That was KANON’s first time in the tournament and he only scored 2 points.

Yuki Kamifuku & YuuRI defeated Suzume & Yoshiko Hasegawa the first time round, will they do it again? It is also a second chance for YuuRI to impress Kamifuku, who she looks up to so much.

Masada’s next singles match on his road to the D-Ou GP is against last year’s finalist, Yukio Naya. That’s quite a big leap for Masada to fight one of the weakest performers from last year and then one of the strongest.

The All Asia Tag Team Titles are now safe from the dirty hands of Atsushi Onita thanks to BURNING. The new champions are Jun Akiyama & Kotaro Suzuki. If you ask Akiyama that means the belts are now under DDT’s control instead of All Japan. But not if Yoshitatsu has anything to say about it. He is getting a chance to win back the titles and he chose Takao Omori to be his tag partner this time instead on Onita. Since Akiyama wants to defend the title in serious matches instead of death matches, the bout will be contested under PWF rules, which is pretty much the same as standard rules but with a 10 count outside the ring and the title can change hands on a DQ.

The NWA Women’s TV Title normally has a 6:05 time limit because as the name suggests, it was made with a TV show format in mind. Tatsumi was also a key part of Misao’s history that connects with Akai but I’m too tired to try and write around kayfabe right now.

Chris Brookes tweeted “this thing is ugly as hell and I hate it” in response to the reveal but he may have also been talking about Pokotan.

Danshoku Dieno is taking the next couple of shows off to get surgery for a nasal bone fracture he suffered at the Yamagata show two weeks ago. So he will have to miss the Ghost Story Death Match.

Runa Okubo gets to wrestle in Osaka for the first time because she is on summer vacation from school.

This past weekend Naruki Doi won his third DDT championship, becoming the new Iron Man Heavymwetalweight Champion. He feels like he has immersed himself into DDT and wants to ingrain himself even more by adding the DDT Extreme Title to his collection. Kazuki Hirata’s current title reign best represents DDT in Doi’s eyes so a big stakes double title match is now on the cards. However Doi is at risk of losing the Iron Man Title anywhere, even outside of DDT because he has a bunch of bookings in other companies coming up. He is getting his Extreme Title match with Hirata no matter what but if he was to lose the Iron Man Title before that it would sour their match a little bit.

The new KO-D Tag Champions Hino & Oishi aren’t done with DAMNATION T.A just yet. KANON is calling on Minoru Fujita to help mentor him towards winning the belts off of them.

Yamashita defeated Mizuki in the 1st Round of this year’s Tokyo Princess Cup. She decided she would not challenge her for the Princess Of Princess Title unless she went on to win the tournament. Yamashita did so, finally ending the one accomplishment in TJPW that’s been her Achilles Heel for her entire career.

The next Princess Tag Team Champions will be crowned on this show. They have been vacant since June because of Yuka Sakazaki’s injury. That it’s taken them this long to decide new champions makes me think the plan all along was for The Magical Sugar Rabbits to keep the belts all the way through to Sakazaki’s graduation.

Nyla Rose returns for a first time singles match against Maki Itoh. They’ve had a few AEW tag matches both against and teaming with each other.

The main foursome of NEO Biishiki-gun will appear for an 8-Person Tag Match.

1. Daisuke Sasaki & MJ Paul defeated Yusuke Okada & Kazuma Sumi when Sasaki pinned Sumi with the Diving Elbow Drop (7:37).
2. Yuki “Sexy” Iino, Danshoku “Dandy” Dieno & Yumehito “Fantastic” Imanari defeated Akito, MAO & Antonio Honda when Iino pinned Akito after the Fight Ippatsu Spear (10:07).
3. Kazusada Higuchi & Yuki Ishida defeated Saki Akai & Yuya Koroku when Ishida pinned Akai with the Dosukoi Hold (9:36).
4. BURNING Vs DISASTER BOX!: Tetsuya Endo & Jun Akiyama defeated Toru Owashi & Kazuki Hirata when Akiyama pinned Hirata with the Jumping Knee Butt (0:06).
4a. Rematch: Tetsuya Endo & Jun Akiyama defeated Toru Owashi & Kazuki Hirata when Endo pinned Hirata with a Cradle (8:46).
5. Special Hardcore Tag Match: Yukio Sakaguchi & Hideki Okatani defeated Atsushi Onita & Toy Kojima when Sakaguchi pinned Kojima with the God’s Right Knee with the Chair (12:02).
6. Special Tag Match: Yuji Hino & Makoto Oishi defeated HARASHIMA & Soma Takao when Hino pinned Takao with the Fuckin’ BOMB (14:16).
7. International Special Tag Match: Nick Wayne & Takeshi Masada defeated Yuki Ueno & Yuni when Wayne pinned Yuni with the Wayne’s World (15:55).

Nick Wayne has touched down in DDT and was given the spotlight in the main event along with other young wrestlers in the company. The average age in today’s main event was 20 years old (Yuki Ueno is 27, Yuni is 15, Wayne is 17 and Takeshi Masada is 21). Wayne beat Yuni with his version of the Springboard Cutter called the Wayne’s World. He now hopes to do the same to Ueno in their singles match next week.

Chris Brookes approached the ring after Match #6 to have a stare down with Yuji Hino. Nothing physical took place because according to Hino a tall, handsome amateur like Brookes is not even worth throwing a Chop at. He previously called the tag match on 7th July Brookes’ retirement match but today he joked it is going to be more like Brookes’ professional debut. Hino’s behaviour has reached the point where Makoto Oishi can’t tell if he is praising Brookes or trying to humiliate him.

A Hardcore Tag Match pitting Eruption against Atsushi Onita & Toy Kojima brought a more firey side out of Yukio Sakaguchi & Hideki Okatani. Onita was thrown into a barbed wire board in the corner and Okatani attacked Kojima with chairs. Onita blinded fought back giving Sakaguchi the Poison Mist followed by a Piledriver through a table. Sakaguchi recovered and used a chair assisted God’s Right Knee to pin Kojima for the three count.

After the match Onita asked Sanshiro Takagi if Jun Akiyama will answer his challenge for an exploding death match at Ota Ward Gymnasium on 9th September. Takagi told him he never got a response from Akiyama. Sakaguchi then told Onita that the All Asia Tag Team Title belt once belonged to his father Seiji Sakaguchi. He can’t continue letting Onita carry it around. Onita agreed to give Sakaguchi a title shot as long as it is in an exploding death match! Takagi endorsed the idea and is now trying to get permission to do the title match in Osaka on 20th August.

Becoming a champion has not changed Kazuki Hirata one bit. He was immediately pinned by Akiyama in his tag match and also dropped the fall to Tetsuya Endo in an immediate rematch. Hirata is trying to convince himself he is in perfect condition because how else would you suffer a perfect defeat like that?

The Dosukoi Hold used by Yuki Ishida has claimed another Eruption victim. This time Saki Akai was pinned with the move. Ishida thinks the hold is now creating the Dosukoi Movement, granting Harimao enough momentum for their upcoming KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles defence against Eruption to make them unstoppable.

Akito placed a bounty on each member of Pheromones for today’s match. Beating Yuki Iino is worth 100,000 yen, beating Yumehito Imanari is worth 50,000 yen and beating Danshoku Dieno is worth 10,000 yen. The reward motiviated MAO at first but he was quickly driven to ignore fighting Dieno because he literally wasn’t worth it. Pheromones took advantage by trying to brainwash MAO to join their side but Akito snapped him out of it by shouting “Money!” at him over and over. His plan ended up failing anyway because Pheromones picked up the win over him.
